It's possible I'm reaching a bit here but I find it interesting that, in their boss fights in bbs, Xehanort manipulates the rock and dirt of the graveyard, while Vanitas utilizes the actual keyblades left behind. For one, it's foreshadowing for the characters they're about to fuse with: Xehanort using earth, Vanitas doing a sort of jetstream aerial attack, the preferred element of Terra and Ventus respectively. But also, they're literally each using half of the world against out heroes. Vanitas is the Keyblade, and Xehanort is the Graveyard.

5, 10, 29!
5. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
I used to!!! But for some reason eventually stopped??? I kinda realized that I just liked having something next to me in a double bed, which I still like but now I usually use a second pillow! I still have all my plushies tho, using them to heal my inner child (its not working)
10. How tall are you?
5'3 or 161cm! Roughly.
29. Does it take you a long time to make decisions?
Kinda? Sometimes I overthink things for too long before deciding, but if I'm very passionate about it then my decision will be made quickly and solidly. You will not change my mind. Nobody will change my mind. God will not change my mind. You can only accept my decision or be crushed under my pretty platform mary janes. (not directed to you in specific. I'm saying this in the typical vague tumblr post way)

26.04.2023 - Interesting idea
I'm proud of myself today for trying out and using strategies to deal with my procrastination, overthinking, and anxiety. I'm happy that I'm learning a lot, as I go along with things, making mistakes sometimes, feeling and processing my thoughts, emotions, and feelings, and just in general living, instead of running away and hiding. It's definitely not always pleasant, and it's a whole process, but I'm happy that it's leading somewhere, and even more so because I know that it'll lead me somewhere I want to be. Writing is just organized thinking, printed onto paper (or online) for me. It's quickly, and solidly become a favorite activity of mine.(1) Interacting with people and socializing is also very nice. I find it so, refreshing, and fulfilling and quells my need and want for connection that I neglected for so long.(2) I want to draw more! I want to become good at drawing, I want to be able to create and put onto a medium, things that I can't quite express with words alone. Self-expression is my jam right now.(3)
Just now, a crazy, but also crazy-fun idea popped into my mind.
I happen to live right next to a pretty busy park, so that makes things even easier and more convenient. How about: I'll pick out 2-3 topics/words/opinions/questions every day (I'll pluck the ideas from somewhere, shouldn't be a shortage!), give myself 15 minutes-ish each to think and formulate thoughts in my head(1), head out to the park and find someone who's willing to have a small discussion with me about it (1+2), take a picture of them/us/an object that represents them, and then later (doesn't have to be the same day) writing AND drawing about it (the person, or the idea or talk / thought we had).
Could be a super cool project.
That sounds cool as fuck actually. Think more about it!
Thank you :> I'll give it a try. Have a debate club tomorrow evening at 7 I'm checking out, so that's going to be interesting.
See if it interests you :> Goodnight!
Goodnight!

golden wind is by far our favorite part of jojos bizarre adventure and pretty much every part of it is The Good Part. EXCEPT for one aspect that far from ruins but still slightly diminishes it for us
diavolo and doppio, while fun characters that are great in a vacuum, lean into some harmful stereotypes and tropes, and the ones that are subverted don't really do much to negate that harm. in our head there exists a version of part 5 where that is not the case. so eh why not get it put there in some form
keep in mind that we're an osdd-2b system, so any views about the experience of plurality expressed here will reflect that
also, i'm not saying that everything i'm suggesting here is a direct upgrade to the source material! these are just some thoughts i've had that i'm writing down for fun
niro and polnareff both express very outdated concepts of plurality so maybe have them like. not do that? idk if that was the language that was used in the late 90s but im pretty sure the language had been updated by the time the anime debuted in 2019. specifically when polnareff mentions the physical differences between the two he should probably emphasize that that is Not Normal and, in fact, Because Of Stands™ (this whole series operates off of fridge logic, it'd be out of place if i made everything make sense under scrutiny)
doppio knows that diavolo exists and is his headmate. he still acts as diavolo's gofer for reasons that will be explained a little later. this does make the phone bit unnecessary but whatever
in the source material, i think doppio is meant to be a subversion of the evil alter trope by having the host also be evil? but even though he is somewhat willingly doing what diavolo wants, he still seems to be just kind of along for the ride. he does kill people in his backstory but the circumstances around that are too vague to really solidly say anything about doppio as an individual separate from diavolo. to address this, i'm adjusting diavolo's personality a little and doppio's a lot. doppio isn't innocent in any way; he's just as callous and prideful as diavolo. he just happens to be a better liar. he still puts on an innocent front, it's just clearer to the audience that it's a front. this is also how doppio is still able to go out in public while diavolo remains in hiding - doppio isn't oblivious, he's just really good at playing dumb. he isn't a very good plotter, though - he can think on his feet well enough to get by, but his long term planning skills are a bit lacking. diavolo, on the other hand, is great at planning in the long term, but has a tendency to overthink in the moment.
doppio is also made out to be a much less capable fighter than diavolo in canon. he doesn't have his own stand there, diavolo just lets doppio "borrow" epitaph for a bit (whatever that entails). diavolo also walks doppio through pretty much every step of the fight with niro. in our version, though, doppio is a capable fighter in his own right. king crimson is actually his stand instead of diavolo's. diavolo's stand is now a significantly buffed epitaph, which is no longer just a part of king crimson. diavolo's epitaph can see further into the future and get a more specific picture of it. both of them can share part of their respective stands' powers with the other, similar to canon. however, doing this weakens the stand a bit - when doppio uses epitaph, it works about like how it does in canon, and when diavolo uses king crimson, it works like how the canon version doppio using king crimson works
this, of course, means that chariot requiem separating doppio and diavolo also separates their stands. diavolo ends up being the one to get stuck in bucciarati's body because having king crimson end up disembodied is way more interesting
doppio and diavolo, being two contrasting personalities with big egos, don't always get along perfectly! they're not dysfunctional by any means, but they'll occasionally reprimand each other or get into arguments

Going through my writing, my final story in my trilogy has a lot more written than I remember. I tend to not look at it unless I have to, but I need to cross-reference something about it with the first story right now so I've actually been going over it. I still haven't even found what I need to cross reference, but thats just due to me not looking for those notes specifically (I know where and what it is). Its good to know that even after starting the other two stories, then deciding to connect them all, what is considered the final part of the trilogy is solidly fleshed out even in its unfinished state.
The messiest one at the moment is (still) the baby of the three, my middle story. It has the least written and doesn't have a timeline of events planned out in as much detail as the other two either (not that the first story really needs a super detailed timeline). Mmmm. Regardless, its good to write. Between all of the things I do when I don't have to worry about my main job, writing is probably the best one to focus on. Drawing causes perfection tendencies and I'm still too much of a beginner with all of my figure-making projects that I overthink any little progress I make. But I like to think I'm confident in my writing.
Maybe this is the year that I complete one of them. Was talking to my brother, the indie game dev that he is (aspiring), that he at least switched to focusing on getting all of his story sorted out rather than the game design. Its funny he catergorises me as a game dev as well even though I've never 100% made any claim that my stories would be presented as such (he thinks at least one of them should be a visual novel mixed with some other medium.) I myself don't feel much like a game dev which is why I just kind of nod when he says it. But anyway, maybe this will be the year one of us completes our projects. We've both completed things in the past...

I think Zeus' goddess daughters that are more concept than anything will... have to be different than the Olympians/other gods of this generation.
I mean I want to involve the muses, they at least have some identity outside explaining inspiration and art.. not much, but some. And I do want to feature Apollo being in love with them.
But if we broke it down to virtues and bodies of water and stuff there's just too much to develop. They're there, they aren't as solidly people as the rest because.... like I wanna focus on Dionysus and his siblings who are effected by Zeus. So many concept goddesses just went off to embody their concepts and just don't deal with god shit anymore.
And with like the nymphs like.... he gave birth to a race of immortals I can't get into the details entirely we'll be here an eternity..
Can't fucking find the birth order entirely because whether or not Apollo and Artemis are born before or after Zeus marries Hera varies depending on the source, but it only really makes sense for Hera to treat Leto the way she did if she had some actual claim to Zeus...
Zeus kinda sorta hates Hera's kids though so Ares and Hephaestus are in an awkward place. I think Hephaestus should be born after Athena because I like the myth that Hera was enraged that Zeus seemingly had a daughter without a wife so she decided she would have a son without a husband. Athena could be first born since Metis was before Hera.... then Ares and the twins, the Hephaestus.... Hebe and the lesser divine children of Hera and Zeus... Persephone would have to be born soon here, because after Hermes is Zagreus who will become Dionysus.
There are a variety of mortal children and lesser gods and goddesses but if they don't really have much for legends or stories I think I can excuse them to background appearances at best.. and some of them are just the same kids with different names and a different birth myth but otherwise the same... (how many different goddesses has Hekate been born as oh my god)
And then I think I'll have to alter some timelines just because some stories have given me the impression things happen closer together..... and the mortal children of Zeus have fucking weird lifelines. Some say Heracles was 900 when he died, some say he was like 45.
Some talk about Dionysus and Heracles in the Giant War, and some have them both born after it... I'm making shit up. Time to construct my own timeline... because I don't want all the god stuff to happen at a totally different time than Zeus' mortal children because they also have interesting stories... I need Perseus and Heracles and Minos...
I WISH this was all fiction, but then a bunch of myths explain real events and wars so I have to do real history research now... I can't do the Greco-Persian war any more ridiculously than 300, right?
Auuuggghhhhh I'm overthinking everything

I know there are varying degrees of fans for specific games or franchises, but the self-conscious part of me feels like Pokemon is one of those 'all in or not at all' franchises at times (at least in terms of interest in the games.)
Now granted, I haven't been a lifelong fan; Ultra Moon was my first game I bought (not sure if a year or two after release, but remember it being marked down at the small-ish store I worked at), with Arceus being the first I bought near release (late Feb./early Mar. after release). Arceus's gameplay kept me intrigued more than any other pokemon game up to this point - including some I tried emulating - which gave me hope that Scarlet/Violet would implement a similar battling system.
Yeah, the glitches and graphical shortcomings are it's own mixed bag for another post, but I'm pertaining to the experience around the game itself. Didn't help in the first place that my copy came in a week later than expected, though if nothing else, there were places that got their copies late as well. Not to excuse things, but at least not alone. And I'm a lot more casual in my Pokemon gaming experience. Very much an "I just think they're neat" player, and maybe an hour or two here and there.
Part of me was curious about how the online play would be, and while I have yet to try it... I dunno at this point. Not to say I wouldn't, but in the week-ish it took between the game's release and when I got the game, people were already completing the game and getting extra level ups to their teams. I don't fault that by means, and I enjoy seeing friends' styles of play and how they handle things, but when you have nearly everyone else being like level 40+ and your highest is like 15-16, it kinda makes me feel like I'm a failure if I wanna join in online teams.
Hopefully, it's just my mind overthinking as a casual fan among some of the more hardcore fans; ones that have had multiple games' pokedexes completed, most if not all the other games they've played completed. It's not that I don't enjoy the experience, and some of the fun in it is giving quirky names to the Pokemon I catch, but there's a tinge of anxiety that I'm late to the party if I'm sharing a moment that's relatively early in the game when everyone else is solidly in post-game activities.
#rambling#venting#on main since it's a general thought than just a personal vent#pokemon thoughts#I do enjoy what I've seen#don't think other life happenings on my end are helping either
