Apple propaganda notwithstanding, the reason tower PCs are big isn’t because they’re outdated. The reason tower PCs are so bulky is because they’re designed to be user serviceable. The case has lots of open space so your big, meaty hands can easily access all of the components, and everything is secured with friction-fit tabs and standard machine screws to minimise the need for specialised tools. A properly laid out tower PC is fully serviceable with a single Phillips-head screwdriver and no greater manual skill than your average Lego playset – heck, for some of the more modern case layouts you don’t even need the screwdriver, unless you’re performing major surgery like a full motherboard replacement.

Like, think about who benefits from convincing you that a fully modular computing device that can be serviced and repaired with your bare hands and minimal technical skill is unfashionable.

I see a lot of posts that say things like: “your special interest/hyperfixation is not childish, so people shouldn’t make fun of you for liking it”. But you shouldn’t make fun of people with childish special interests/hyperfixations either. It doesn’t harm anyone if an adult likes to collect stuffed animals, or a teenager likes to watch My Little Pony.

+ Also, remember that most addictions are a consequence of mental health problems and it's okey, another option is to go and see a therapist and talk your problems out, this is because a lot of addiction cases end in suicide (my dad did it and a lot other people in the US does it) most of them are a result of anxiety.

Why anxiety? Because anxiety is so powerful that makes you believe the first quotes mentioned like "life is not enjoyable" it means something is making your life an entire hell and if you believe in it you just make it worse, this makes you seek a way to escape reality and it ends in depression or viceversa.

There's a lot of ways to deal with an addiction.

“we need to stop the stigma towards drug users and addicts” and “we need to challenge the idea that being sober makes you boring” and “we need to stop acting like binge drinking to the extent you’re doing medical damage is fun and normal for young people” are all ideas that can and should coexist.

I love and appreciate fanfic authors, but I read their notes and I have to wonder what fucked up shit they did in a past life to make god hate them so much. Like why do the worst things happen to fanfic authors and they just brush over it. I’ll be reading a fluffy fic and the notes will be “hey sorry the fic is late both my parents died, I’m in hospital right now, and my house burnt down. anyway hope u enjoy this chapter!!“ bro???? ⚠️ Ladies and Gentlemen, I need your attention for two seconds. ⚠️

I went to Barnes & Noble today and I found this booklet called "Gender Detransition: A Path Towards Self-Acceptance" tucked on one of the shelves where the Trauma books were. I searched everywhere and didn't find a single price tag or barcode. I'm assuming this is not something sold here, but rather something important that someone left here specifically for others to find.

Out of curiosity, I looked through the booklet and found explanations of what detransitioning and desisting is, there are stories from detransitioned people, and it talks about what happens when you medically detransition. There's also a section about dealing with dysphoria and advice from detrans folks to people going through it (or considering it).

Please, I beg of you, if you know of anyone who is considering detransitioning or desisting, I implore you to consider getting this book. I looked it up and you download a copy at the Post Trans Website. Languages available for this booklet include English, German, French, and Dutch. They also have a link for if you want to assist with distributing physical copies of the booklet.
