Why I Detest Bernie or Busters

Here’s the thing about this election.

We’re in this situation because of the people who didn’t vote or voted for Jill Stein because Hillary was “too cringey” or “Pokemon go to the polls” or “she’s too emotionless”. 

Now we have a fascist pig in the White House who has killed over 200,000 Americans. He’s nominated people to the Supreme Court who will take my fucking rights away.

I don’t care if Biden isn’t your perfect candidate. He isn’t mine either. I would have much preferred Buttigieg or Warren, someone who actually has solid positions that they communicate effectively. But none of that matters. This is staying in a house that’s on fire because the firefighter trying to save you owes you money. Yeah, that’s something we want to deal with. BUT HE’S TRYING TO SAVE YOUR GODDAMN LIFE SO TAKE HIS HAND.

I’m gonna get a little personal here.

I’m sixteen years old. I’m a gay teenage boy who knows that he has a right to exist. I just want to have my right to marriage enshrined in the Constitution so it isn’t up for debate every few years. I want to make sure that someone can’t argue that they killed me because of who I am. I read the story of Matthew Shepard and I know that my parents fear that I will be in the news, in the same position Matthew was in. I’m scared of that too.

IN ALL CAPS. IF YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE ONLY VOTING FOR YOURSELF, YOU ARE WRONG. 

YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE KIDS IN FUCKING CAGES AT THE BORDER. 

YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE GAY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHOW THEIR LOVE TO THEIR FAMILIES AND THE WORLD. 

YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE FUTURE OF THE SUPREME COURT. 

YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE PLANET THAT CAN’T HANDLE ANOTHER FOUR YEARS OF TRUMP. 

YOU ARE VOTING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT THE MOST. 

If you are not voting in the election because it doesn’t affect you directly, you are in a position of privilege I wish I was in. 

To answer some questions before they are asked, yes, I think that the two party system is fucking stupid. I think that the electoral college is a pile of flaming shit that we need to extinguish and throw away. I think that you should be able to vote for the candidate that most closely resembles your values. But that’s not where we are right now. Where we are is a place where every vote that isn’t Biden actively helps Trump. 

I really welcome any asks. Please. Any Bernie supporters who don’t want to vote and think that the candidates are equal. Any undecided people who need me to repeat my words. Anybody.
