Remember to Relax

So-- this has nothing to do with l. Pomeroy Photography. Or photography in general. Zilch. Now that THAT’S out of the way...

I recently took the essential oils plunge, and I was so excited about my experiences thus far that I couldn’t resist at least MENTIONING it. I’ve been approached a few times in regards to a multi-level marketing (that shall remain nameless) essential oil company. I was ready to commit, but I opted to do some research first; as it turns out, I’m not really into the MLM setup. Definitely not knocking it, and kudos to those who are doing well selling their oils, but it just wasn’t... for me. As a seller OR a buyer. But I still wanted some oils, gosh darn it.

In looking for an alternative, I discovered Eden’s Garden Essential Oils, and I. AM. HOOKED. I purchased several bottles (7 singles and 9 “synergy” blends, to be exact). I’ve been nothing short of pleased. My husband especially likes the PMS Ease Synergy Blend-- I can’t figure out why, for the life of me. I’m a big fan of Sleep Ease (which I diffuse nightly) and Digest Ease, and I’ve even purchased a few rollerball bottles to make my own blends to toss in my purse. 

I am in no way, shape, or form being compensated for this plug-- I just like the oils that much! I say all of that to say this: during the holiday season, remember to RELAX. Whether it’s with essential oils, meditation, a hot bath, or hanging out with your loved ones, don’t forget to NOT STRESS OUT!!

Lex Pott & David Derksen Transience, 2015 oxidized silver mirrors various dimensions

Over time, dark spots start to appear on mirrors. The silver layer is slowly oxidizing under the influence of oxygen and water, thereby showing some of its history. This process can be regarded as degradation, however this project shows the beauty of this material transition of silver. Normally, the oxidation process in a mirror occurs randomly and evolves slowly over time. These mirrors reveal the different states of this process. In this case, sulphur is used to create an accelerated oxidation process. Depending on the time that the silver is reacting with sulphur, different colour tones can be achieved, ranging from gold to brown, to purple to blue. The states of the oxidation process are being shown in a pattern that consists of the elemental geometric shapes.
