What do the other Wilson family members think of Jason?
I assume you're talking about in the context of him being shipped with one of them, I've shipped him with all of them at least once so I'll go down the list! Tell me if you want specifics on a particular ship or au though.
Suggestive content ahead, the Wilson's aren't exactly known for being normal sex havers
If he's dating Slade:
Grant (if he's alive) - Frothing at the mouth mad. He thought Slade was homophobic this whole time. Particularly upset it's Graysons brother. Sidenote: I don't see Slade fighting the Titans without Grant's death as a factor, so Dick would be Grant's nemesis.
Joey (if he's alive) - dating his ex boyfriends brother should be illegal. He used to babysit that little gremlin. Calling his mom to complain. Shaking crying throwing up. Keeps trying to get Jason to find someone else, anyone else.
Rose - HER EX BOYFRIEND ARE YOU BEING REAL. Betrayal on all sides. She gets over it eventually but that doesn't mean she's happy about it. Her brothers - if they're alive - being horrified by it make her warm up to it. She's a menace first and a person second. She's working closely with Dick to break it up though.
Adeline (if she's alive) - Heard about it from Joey, disappointed but not surprised. Sneers at it being a college boy, but after learning more about Red Hood she's mildly interested. She's impressed that anyone would choose to put up with Slade, but as long as he STOPS FUCKING CALLING HER she'll let it be. Could be persuaded into a threesome far, FAR in the future after a couple years with Jason has made Slade more tolerable.
Billy - smug, he TOLD Slade it would be more than just sex but no one ever listens to him. Also extremely tired, part of Slade being more tolerable is that the jobs he's willing to take slim dramatically. He gets huffy about it but he's definitely lowkey salty they haven't asked him to join yet.
If he's dating Rose -
Slade - Canonically their biggest fan. Jason has barely started flirting back with Rose before Slade is acting like he's already Jason's father in law. 50/50 on whether he's genuine or doing it to fuck with people. Shows his approval by challenging Jason to armed combat routinely and inviting him on jobs. Keeps asking when he's getting grandkids.
Grant - over protective but pretends he's not. GRAYSONS LITTLE BROTHER?!? Abhorrent. Is reluctantly bribed by Jason's cooking. Only starts warming up to Jason when he realizes that Jason is like, made of house husband stay at home dad material. Like an hour into a house call informed him that Jason is so hopelessly in love with Rose it's almost pathetic.
Joey - FUCKING FINALLY!! He's been here since day one, plotting, scheming. Carefully manufactured scenarios for them to spend more time together. Best man at the wedding, he wrestled Grant on the ground for it. Video called Dick with TEARS IN HIS EYES to tell him the news.
Billy - Normal father in law. Takes Jason on fishing and hunting trips. Reconnected with Alfred at the wedding and they're both ecstatic. You'd think it would be Slade who'd be gunning for the number one grandpa title and you'd be wrong, Billy is clawing his way to the top of that list.
Addie - Who? What? Oh. Fine. Reluctantly showed up to the wedding. Admittedly charmed by their dynamic. Mildly jealous at the sight of a non failing marriage but she's got enough self awareness not to be upset over it. Leaves the best gift by far, and she does end up trading recipes with Alfred by the end of the night.
If he's dating Grant:
Slade - Not exactly mad, but he is annoyed. He rolls his eyes but looks away when Red X is chasing the second Robin around Gotham, but he draws the LINE at his son giving up mercenary work to be Red Hood's lieutenant. Especially because it looks,,, serious, and serious means he'll be related to the bat sooner rather than later. 98% sure they're doing it to upset him specifically (he's wrong it's only like 25% for that)
Joey - In counter to Dick and Rose, he's actually pretty supportive. He thinks it's cute and he's glad that Grant has a good influence, but he'll be near the front of the line if Grant fucks it up. He's not as supportive about the pining stage they go through, mostly because he's the first person Grant laments to.
Rose - her bestie dating her BROTHER. Disgusted, betrayed, plotting their downfall. Absolutely thinks Jason can do better. She comes around to it faster than Dick only when she's entirely sure she can't do anything about it. Still bullies them both though.
Addie - Well. There are worse options. The real bonus here is her newfound connection with Talia. World's most controlling mother in law, loves Jason like one of her own sons though. Unfortunately that means he gets treated just like her other sons... Quality of the treatment is debatable.
If he's dating Joey -
Slade - Definitely the most upset in this scenario. That's undeniably his favorite kid and Jason... isn't the kind of person he thinks is good enough. Not that he thinks anyone would be. He doesn't go out of his way to drive Jason away per se, but he does put him through the most vigorous "tests". Begrudgingly respects Jason for passing most of them with flying colors.
Addie - Mother hen in law. Planning the wedding since day ONE. What's the equivalent of like, a sister in law but for the mom's of the spouses? Is that a thing? Regardless, she gets very close with Talia very quickly. Bruce Wayne's third biggest hater, she makes his life HELL.
Rose - Better than Grant. Still not happy, but she accepts it more easily. Maid of honor but she swears up and down they're cringe and she hates it. Complains to Dick about it but they're both secretly fond.
Billy - Never booking a hotel without soundproof walls with them again.

So, I binged The Acolyte last night.
I had a mental block and couldn't get myself to start while it was coming out, and I also haven't touched any High Republic era media before which made me hesitant. But the spoilers/gifs/fanart etc I saw convinced me I should give it a try.
I'm not a huge fan of binging, I like sitting and thinking with each episode, so I expected to just watch an episode or two, give it a day or so, then continue if I liked it.
But, to my great surprise, once I started, I couldn't really stop (aaand stayed up till 7 AM, oops).
I think it had several things going for it:
-The acting was genuinely phenomenal. I feel like I would have felt completely differently about the show if different actors had been involved, and i mean that more strongly than I usually do. Their delivery in certain moments really sold me.
-It's not your usual Star Wars genre. I'd consider it mystery/suspense with a touch of horror, and it really does come together. Some of the characters are experience a more stereotypical Star Wars action/adventure story, but are jerked out of their genre at certain moments. It's pretty neat, and makes the twists fun and interesting (even if you were completely spoiled beforehand, like me lol)
-The costumes were gorgeous and unique.
-Some truly gorgeous cinematography, shots that have beautiful composition and lighting.
-It was rich in lore and references, some from Legends that I caught, many from the High Republic that I didn't catch but appreciated nonetheless. It felt deeply connected to the SW Universe.
-While cynical, the writing says things that I've thought about but never really thought Star Wars would have the guts to say. The writing is also Tight, meaning that little moments of character interactions bring up things that will be necessary/helpful to the plot later, and I appreciated that. There felt like very little waste.
-There are genuinely no "good" or "bad" guys. Every character makes mistakes or has horrible qualities, yet also positive ones. We see and understand motives, even if we don't agree with them, and see the fallout of those actions. This made almost everyone compelling. The narrative and writing gives the audience space to think.
Things that I wasn't as much a fan of:
-I felt like most of the sets felt kind of generic and Earth-like, especially in comparison to the rich costumes and alien characters.
-There are some fantastic fight scenes and emotional scenes, where the acting and cinematography was fantastic, but I wish the music had been a bit more memorable. I can't really recall any of it, and I feel like there were scenes that could have been truly iconic had the music resounded more with me.
Now, some more specific thoughts, SPOILERS below:
On Sol:
Sol is a character who, I believe in most cases, I would have absolutely despised. But holy shit, Lee Jung-jae. I am not exaggerating when I say that his performance is perhaps one of the best, if not THE best performances I've ever seen in live action Star Wars. He played this character so tenderly, so genuinely.
Despite being misguided, having made terrible decisions, and making mistakes that even he acknowledges, Sol himself always truly thought he was doing what was right, and loved Osha with his whole being even at the end, and it Shows. The way he looks at Osha was so sincere.
This is why I can't get myself to hate Sol as a character. It makes me feel so conflicted, like how can a guy with so much love and genuine desire to help and do good go so wrong? And that, I think, is one of the major points of the show, and Lee Jung-jae absolutely sells it. What a phenomenal actor. You could genuinely watch this show for him alone.
On Osha/Mae:
When the first info/promos for Acolyte came out and Amandla Stenberg was announced as the main character, I admit I was a bit confused. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't that I thought she couldn't act, but it's just that her face is so kind. She looks so warm (and gosh, she's so beautiful), but it made me go hmm, she looks like a Good Guy Protag, a Hero, so I was a bit confused as to how she was going to lead "the Acolyte," which from the title, I assumed she'd be Dark Side. Even with the early promo scenes of Mae fighting Indara, I wasn't really sold on her being "Dark."
And it turns out, that was exactly the point of the casting.
Amandla was perfect, and was brilliant at portraying two characters who not only have different and distinct personalities, but also both shift and change throughout the show. Mae never came off as "Dark" to me, because she isn't. Osha's not necessarily Light OR Dark, but she's independent. They are balanced, yet cycling, reminiscent of that little palm-to-palm circling ritual that the girls do. Amandla's portrayal of them was poetry, and made me so very invested in them.
I think if there's one thing I really wish the show had included more of, it's both Osha and Mae's pasts between their tragic separation and their reunion in the present. What was Osha's Padawan-ship actually like? I feel like the exact reason for the timing of her leaving the Order was ambiguous, and I wanted to know more. And was Mae with "the Master" the entire time?
I truly wish Osha could have heard the full story from Sol, because of his many crimes, ironically, killing her mother really was a genuine accident. There are things I wish he could have apologized to her for, or that she could have understood about him, such as how that night at the coven was largely driven by how Sol felt connected to her. This is one part where, while I get how the writers went this way, I do wish I could have felt more closure to their relationship.
I found it so tragic that Qimir erased Mae's memories and they had to be separated so soon after finally understanding each other. I really hope that if there's a season 2, they can be reunited.
On Qimir:
Preface by saying I was spoiled regarding his identity long before I started, by all those thirsty posts/tweets. And man, I GET IT.
But thirst magnet aside, I found him a genuinely fascinating character. For one thing, he's kind of an ironic character to *be* a Darksider. He seems so chill and laid-back, is honorable (or at least keeps his word), and despite his words about using emotions to harness energy, we don't really see him passionately mad/anything really. In contrast, the Jedi we see around him are furious, scared, sad. It's interesting that he almost seems more calm, but not necessarily because he's trying: he just doesn't care.
Manny Jacinto's portrayal of the character made him so damn Likable. Which, is pretty hard to reconcile with the fact that I genuinely liked Jecki and Yord, but a lot of his lines make me just go, y'know he's got a point. Like the whole, "She was a child," "You brought her here." Like yeah. Honestly, fair. His little quips, the delivery, the I'm-just-a-chill-dude attitude, actually keeps his word, and on the flip side, undeniable ruthless skill and viciousness that took down a whole team of Jedi single-handedly. It's a very BRRRRRR combo.
In general, I don't really get too attached to "Dark Side" characters, and don't really have a favorite Sith. Or at least, I didn't, but I think Qimir (or whatever his actually name is) might claim that spot now. Truly peak character, I truly hope we get to see more with him.
And this is kind of an aside, but can I just say, it felt unreal to have entire fight sequences focussing on just two Asian actors, with the other protagonist we see a black girl, for huge chunks of the show? No white people except comparatively brief side characters? In a Star Wars show?!?? All of them unique and well fleshed out and phenomenally written and acted?? None of it felt like "forced diversity," it's all so natural, that when I step back and thought about it in these terms it just...again, feels unreal. I'm so grateful for these characters, and hope we get more like them.
On Jecki and Yord:
Honestly given what I saw about Yord before hand, I was expecting him to be far more annoying than he was. Sure, he was a little stiff, but he felt like a young Jedi Knight who was trying to prove himself and do his best, and I think he very clearly did care for Osha.
Jecki, gosh I loved her. She felt very similar to Ahsoka, if a bit more by the book. She was very wise for her youth. I loved the budding friendship between her and Osha, how they helped each other and weren't jealous.
The thing about both of these characters, which I think the writers did so well, is that they felt like protagonists. In another story, they would have been the main characters, the heroes. Both of them were so young, so early in their training/careers. They could have become Obi-Wans, Ahsokas. Jecki especially was bursting with so much potential.
But alas, this was not that story. It makes it that much shocking when their lives are cut so abruptly short. We were given time to get to know these characters, to care for them, and then without much fanfare, boom. Gone.
On one hand, I sorta Hate That. On the other, I deeply respect the writers for going there, because I think it did have an Impact on the story and show.
On the Witches/Mother Aniseya:
Admittedly I was a little ehhhhh on some of the world-building regarding the witches, just the use of the words "witch" and "coven" and some of the chanting with gasping cackling women etc felt a bit caricature. I do get that they wanted us to have a vibe for this group and to get one with limited screentime, and sometimes stereotypes are the way to do that. I didn't love it, but also didn't mind it too much.
I actually really loved Mother Aniseya. For one thing, the actress is Gorgeous, her costume stunning, and she really sold the whole otherworldly ethereal immortal goddess vibe well, in a way that still felt Star Wars. For the other, I liked how she was the soft, empathetic one, it kinda contrasted with expectation of her position.
I also loved Mother Koril, and how again, she was designed as a character foil to Mother Aniseya. I love how we didn't see too much of them, but could still see that they were partners who loved and respected each other (I hesitate to say "wives," because I feel like their society may not exactly have the same concept of marriage, but partners was undeniable). I think it was a neat Oh moment when they stated that Mother Koril is the one who carried the twins. Love them.
I know I'll have more thoughts, but yeah, to sum it up, I enjoyed Acolyte a ton more than I thought i would, and am so glad I gave it a chance.
Other things:
-Mentioned earlier that I love "little moments of character interactions bring up things that will be necessary/helpful to the plot later." Some actual examples of this: When we see Sol noticing Osha's tattoo and Osha saying he must hate it, which in the moment, shows the kind of guardian-student relationship they have, and how little seems to have changed for them in the time they've been a part. Later, it's shown to clearly identify Osha after Mae steals her clothes. Another is the rolly polly moth things, which at first seem just like a way to show This Forest Dangerous, but then are a plot point to temporarily escape from Qimir, and later on, to show Vernestra's connection to the Force (and also her light whip). Stuff like that, I really like.
-I so appreciated Qimir's Cortosis helmet. For one thing, it's neat that it's not just cool-looking or a disguise, but actually is Force-blocking. I think an official SW account factoid said that this is also how beskar works, though beskar is stronger. The two effects this has: when the user is wearing it, they're forced to confront what's inside of them. The other, is that it hides the wearer's identity from Force users who would otherwise recognize them. The latter is my personal headcanon for beskar helmets, so it's very gratifying to see it in canon! The former has some interesting implications for Force-users who wear beskar.
-The cynical view of the Jedi Order as an Institution, and all the politics, corruption, and obscuring of dirt that that entails. Admittedly this may be because of my own increasingly cynical perspective on the Order, but it felt honest and I agreed with most of it. The fact that individuals are trying their best to do "good" does not negate the fact that they are pretty much acting as Space Cops. This line by Senator Rayencourt felt especially raw:
"I think the Jedi are a massive system of unchecked power, posing as a religion, a delusional cult that claims to claim the uncontrollable. [] Your emotions."
Framed as a religion having unchecked power—that feels uncomfortably realistic! And also zeroing in on how for all their power, the Jedi are still people, and just as fallible (and therefore, must necessarily be held just as accountable).
Also:
I can see how this portrayal of the Jedi may make some folks uncomfortable, especially if you love the Jedi, but I long hold that the Jedi as an organization are deeply flawed. It's part of why I personally like the "fall of the Republic" era; both the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order have deep, fatal flaws, and this is an era where that all comes to a head—one where they must fall, or fix themselves.
So in conclusion, my favorite parts: the characters, and the moral grayness of almost everyone. Many stories may claim there's no good/evil dichotomy, but few ever truly show it, but this one did.
I'm not sure yet if I want to "fandom" over this or if I'm pretty satisfied with having just watched it, but it was definitely worth the watch and I'm glad I gave it a try!
~~
~~
I also kept a lil document of live reaction notes as I was watching, which I'll copy below:
Episode 1
UEDA?? The planet is just, UEDA?? A pretty common Japanese surname?? That's like. Naming a planet Johnson or somethin...
Loving the costumes 'n set
Oh wait I recognize this scene, it's the one they played as a preview at the AMC Star Wars marathon
Idk how to feel about the Space Generic T-Shirt
Ooh Neimoidians (thank you for no horrendously exaggerated Evil Japanese Accent TM), and interesting Jedi ship shape
Oh interesting interesting they intentionally paralleling TPM eh
Hrmn not a positive first impression of Master Vernestra, her lines are so mechanical
Very cool pilot chair droids and tentacle alien
Osha says practice vehicle safety and wear seatbelts and protect your head!
Oh Osha has Trauma I see. Girl ain't getting good sleep
Oh wow Sol Loves Osha, oh no is this going to lead to Padawan Jealousy Trauma between Osha and Jecki. How much are we heavily paralleling TPM here
Kill the dream eh?
Episode 2
Oh there are multiple Jedi temples, that's nice
Jedi Temple using same security system as Jabba is...uh
Mae tips, good for her
Master Torbin just sittin' there, lookin like some random youtuber. why tabi socks
Man I dig Mae's patchwork cloak with massive princess hood.
It's pronounced KAI-meer??? My Chinese ass thought it was Chee-mir
Barash Vow
Ohhh so Mae doesn't know that Qimir...? (was spoiled)
Episode 3
ooh i like the fairy clione things
Ohhh village all women??
Mother Aniseya is stunning
Oh she and Koril blatantly lesbian, fantastic
Oh gosh the Jedi are NOT looking good here. They don't have the right to train children?? WTF
You must let the children take the test?? And if they pass the Jedi will take them away??? That does NOT sound very consensual!!
Oh gosh, selling "you are special" to a child, after separating her from her community...
Really feel like "how does taking a child away affect their community" should be factored into jedi stuff
Mae that is...sudden and violent wtf
Kinda not trusting Sol here
Episode 4
Wow Kelnacca looks...mentally stable
Ohhh Qimir's ship? Looks suspiciously Kylo Ren-ish
Qimir really suspicious eh
Oh wow not using the Force or anything, just using a sniffy guy
They're really doing a Fellowship of the Ring walk huh
Look I absolutely adore Mae's long gorgeous cloak but that is going to drag half the forest floor with her
Not liking those tree bulbs. looks spider eggy
Osha don't Touch the Thing, that's such a Pippin move
oh no, not spider eggs...rolly polly moth vampire thing
Really enjoying Osha and Jecki's friendship, I'm so glad it's not former Padawan jealousy
Oh, Mae, oh no....knowing spoilers...oh...
The red lightsaber igniting next to Osha's head...dang what fantastic composition
The lil hand twitch and head snap. I Get It.
I remember when "Darth Teeth" was trending
And wow that's a Cliffhanger
Episode 5
Oh no Osha knocked out that doesn't bode well
How many against one is that damn
The double spear through then hidden head lop...wow
holy shit booma-saber
Oooooh the cut treeeeees damn
all that death before even the opening title
Honestly GO JECKI, that's very impressive, her win against Mae AND double saber against Darth Teeth, Anakin level spinning and drama
Holy shit Jecki's death was brutal...
She was a child - You brought her here - FAIR
Why risk discovery - I did wear a mask LMAO
Damn did he just casually break Mae's leg
I don't make the rules - the Jedi do
The Jedi say I can't exist...wow
Holy shit Yord's death
Damn full on brawl
I've accepted my darkness, what have you done with yours
Damn really yeeted Qimir from the fight by sticking a light on his back
Pip tho ;_; killin droids feels like killin pets...
They've turned you against me - really Anakin quotin
Wow Sol, not even going to see Jecki????
And wtf how can Sol not tell that Mae's switched them??? Has fandom been grossly misunderstanding how the Jedi use the Force....how the fuck can any Jedi tell apart any clones eh...
While not exactly subtle, I appreciate how lil details in character interactions have had pay offs. Like the tree bugs and Osha's tattoo being a way to identify her
Episode 6
He really just makin a hot pot
his lair kinda looks like sequels Luke's island
Not sure how I feel about the elephant rock bird things
Honestly glad we get to see Sol upset and affected by everyone's deaths. Might explain part of why he can't tell apart the twins?
Oh he's really wearing hakama hakama
Wow Qimir really just getting in buck naked eh. Is this the scene that Manny froze his balls off for
His line about it being fine in a fight but vengeance a few hours later
Oh he brought a change of clothes
Damn the Jedi are taught "it fades"???
Aww Osha, u aren't tempted by the soup??
Oh wow we revisiting bodies, that feels...u usual for SW. Oh there's a Kel Dor... (why are there no flies buzzing yet. or are there no flies yet)
Mae wakes up so peacefully compared to Osha
Oooh sensory deprivation mask, all dark, nothing but breathing, evocative of Darth Vader even if breathing is not similar
Episode 7
Vergence....iiiiinteresting
Sol, stalking lil kids is creepy af
Oh my god you're just gonna break in???
See - You cannot deny the Jedi have a right to test potential Padawans - Why the fuck not???? You don't have the right to stalk, spy on, break into random people's homes, and talk directly to their children without permission from guardians??
Guh Sol....
Interrogation after isolation from guardians....
Oh, the Jedi Council is right for once??
Do not alter this little girl's destiny because you have formed an emotional attachment to her
Gosh I thought Indara was the most innocent in this buuuuut
Episode 8
I'm surprised they never added Darth Teeth's mask to the front credits
"See you in hell" Oh I know Han mentioned Hell like once but I thought they were avoiding mentioning it in newer media
Holy shit Rayencourt: I think the Jedi are a massive system of unchecked power, posing as a religion, a delusional cult that claims to claim the uncontrollable. - Kinda uncomfortably real!!
-We don't control the Force - no, your emotions - OOF
I didn't realize till this ep how the cool Brendok eclipse got that line, it's the comet ring. super neat
oof Mae climbing out of the scene of Trauma...
Oh that is some Wu Xia shit
"I will destroy you if i must" really??
Nice dagger saber
Okay Sol that is Cool
oh gosh, the plot-relevant inversion of clothes resulting in it reflecting how they swapped light/dark is SO cool
very yin yang fighting
Damn it keeps coming down to the unarmed opponent thing
Damn, Mae going the justice route
Damn, just Damn
Gosh the thing about Sol is that he is SO well acted, so sincere in his love and devotion, it's hard to hate him
I'm glad the helmets block the Force identity like that tho, fits headcanon
Glad Basil continues to shine
Oh no. Vernestra...I thought you were doing the right thing revealing the truth, but instead you're continuing the cycle of covering up crimes
Oh...use Mae to find Vernestra's former Padawan...that's a cycle alright
And ends with Yoda okay

Don’t know if relevant but found it incredibly funny. Noticed a gifset of this weekend is going around and hellers screaming cockles, where misha basically asked jensen to sit closer to him as he does with Jared, and Jensen came closer, made some jokes to allure the audience and went back to his space (I don’t know if he sat closer after that though). It is such a lol moment for me, and seeing hellers excited for this is hillourious. It feels to me like Misha and his minnions are so adamant to take the place of Jared in Jensen's life. They push for the things which comes most normally between jared and jensen.
I am always amazed at the extent to which tinhatters are able to convince themselves that actors doing things they're being paid to do means they're ~*in lurve*~. OMG, I paid them to hold hands in a photo op and THEY DID! OMG, they're being paid to banter together on stage and THEY DID! Like do you seriously not understand the concept of actors, or ...
I think full videos of the panels went up earlier this evening, but I saw clips previously which included the section of the panel you're talking about and it was so obviously a bit? Part of the reason it's so funny with J2 is that while sometimes they do pointedly do it as a joke, they can make it come off spontaneously. Not only that, but there's also a large portion of the time they don't even seem to notice they're doing it.
This was so painfully staged to warm up the audience at the beginning of the panel that it's embarrassing to compare the two. It was actually Jensen moving closer to Misha after asking why he was sitting so far away IIRC, and then them both exaggeratedly scooting across the stage. Then Jensen moves his chair back as far away as it started with such a blank look, very, 'Okay, checked that off the list, on to talking about the city'. Twue lurve!
I have pointedly said before that I don't think Jensen needs to treat Misha like he has a communicable disease just because some nutcases on the internet are going to fantasize every second they breathe the same air into an epic romance. I would also be very surprised if Jensen has heard even a fraction of the queerbait-y objectifying shit Misha has said and continues saying behind his back. It's also relevant that they're being paid to perform for an audience who are likely mostly GA fans who want to believe the whole cast are super close besties and want to see them goofing around - like they do on the gag reels!
Meanwhile, the cockless weirdos desperately want believe Jensen performing during panels with Misha means that Misha will oh-so-easily take Jared's place - and beyond! The problem is, if you compare the onstage dynamics between the three of them? I haven't ever seen a truly awkward panel between Jensen and Jared or Jared and Misha. But Jensen and Misha? Oof. It's not always terrible. But Jensen is the most reserved and least open while Misha is constantly flippant, raunchy, and overshares. It's not just that Jared is more adaptable, it's that they're genuinely an awkward personality match. Then you add the whole known issue of belligerent overstepping D/C shippers who may try to slip in an awkward bomb of a question on top of it. So in the same way that I assume you don't know what a romance actually looks like if you think D/C is one at all, let alone an epic one? If you're insisting Jensen and Misha are the ones that must be fucking given their onstage chemistry, I assume that you also don't understand chemistry is more than who you personally get off on imagining having sex.

unchained - chapter two
masterpost read the chapter on ao3
recommended music: Seven Devils by Florence + The Machine word count: 2526
GN!MC x Arsenios [demon OC] a/n: The brothers all make an appearance in this chapter. And then there's a TIME SKIP lol. Because I just wanted to skip ahead to season four, so that's what that's about. Things get more interesting after this chapter, but the real action doesn't start until chapter six. Warnings: Lucifer being a little threatening, but that's about it lol.
You were sitting at the dinner table with the brothers, not really listening to the argument of the night, when you interrupted them.
"Hey, do you guys know a demon named Arsenios?" you asked.
Everyone stopped talking.
"Who doesn't know him?" Mammon asked. He had a genuinely perplexed look on his face, as though this was a strange question.
"I mean I don't know him personally," Belphie said. "That's what you mean, right, MC?"
"Well, I guess just anything you know would help," you said. "Is he famous or something?"
"Not exactly," Mammon said.
Asmo leaned forward across the table. "He's in a band, MC," he said. "That's how most people know him! They're called Angel's Temptation."
"Like the flower," Satan added.
"Right!" Asmo said. "They play at The Fall sometimes. Arsenios is the lead singer and guitarist. He's amazing, of course, it's kind of his thing. I can take you to see them sometime if you want!"
"He also plays the piano at Cafe Lament," Satan said. "I've seen him there a few times."
"It's more like background music, though," Levi added. "But he is really good. He must have amazing hand eye coordination. I bet he's really good at playing video games."
You blinked. "Okay, so none of you actually know him personally," you said. "You've just seen him around."
Asmo looked offended. "Please, MC! Arrie is one of my fans! And as such, I have made the effort to let him meet me personally!"
"Wow, how nice of you," you said, smiling.
"I've met him, too," Mammon said with a shrug. "He goes to RAD so it ain't like we haven't all had classes with him at some point. Me and Asmo have hung out with him a couple times."
"Let me guess," Levi said flatly. "You owe him money, too?"
Mammon sat up straight. "No! 'Course I don't!"
There were a lot of general sounds of disbelief from the table at large.
"I've met him," Beel said.
Everybody looked at him in surprise.
Beel shrugged. "He's friends with Barbatos. I've seen him at the castle a few times when Luke invites me over to try out his baking."
"I have met him as well," Lucifer added. "In a similar situation."
"You don't like him," you said to Lucifer, picking up on the disdain in his words.
"I don't know him well enough to say," Lucifer said. "He only attends RAD because Barbatos asked him to. My understanding is that he doesn't care much for school."
"I get that," Mammon muttered.
"Maybe I'll go to Cafe Lament sometime," you said. "I'm curious about him."
"Hang on, MC," Asmo said. "I saw you with him at the dance! You obviously know him, too!"
"I don't know him very well," you said. "I was curious, that's why I asked."
"You were at the dance with him?" Satan asked.
"He saw me there and asked me to dance," you said with a shrug.
Mammon suddenly gripped your arm. "Did ya dance with him?"
You tried to shake him off, but found yourself unsuccessful. "Maybe I did, so what?"
"You ought to be careful, MC," Lucifer said.
His voice was serious and his tone caused everyone at the table to fall silent. Even Mammon let go of you and quieted.
"Why?" you asked.
"I don't know Arsenios's entire story," Lucifer said. "But he is dangerous. From what I've heard, he spent a considerable amount of time in the human world, making pacts. He seems to be retired now, but ancient demons like him see humans as prey, not friends."
This made you shudder a little. You hadn't considered what kinds of things Arsenios may have done in his past. He was nice to you, but what did that really mean?
"I'll be careful," you assured Lucifer. He seemed content enough with this response.
You questioned Asmo further after dinner. While it seemed he and Arsenios were friends and had spent some time together, he didn't know anything more than what Lucifer had said. Apparently, Arsenios wasn't exactly forthcoming with information about his past. You didn't really hold that against him, but it was something you would keep in mind.
-
After the dance, you had so much going on, you weren't able to focus on anything else. With Lucifer losing his memory and the chaos of your magic and the ring, you were simply trying to make it through each day.
Soon enough, you found yourself preparing to return to the human world. You had only days left now that you had the Ring of Light to control your magic.
In a moment where you had a little time to yourself, you found yourself in the House of Lamentation's garden. You were simply sitting, thinking about everything that had happened.
Your mind wandered back to the dance, remembering the way Arsenios had kissed the back of your hand. You wondered what he was doing. You had ducked into the darkened dance hall when you had a chance, but it wasn't often. You hadn't seen him at all recently.
Your thoughts might as well have been broadcasting a signal of some kind because the demon in question made an appearance on the path to the House of Lamentation's front door, right where it connected with the cobblestone street outside the gate.
He stopped when he saw you, surprise in his eyes. And then he smiled, slipping into the garden by opening the gate as little as possible.
"Hey, MC," he said.
It was exactly what he had said when he first found you at the dance.
"What are you doing here?" you asked, which was exactly the first thing you said to him when you ran into him at the Demon Lord's Castle back in your first year in the Devildom.
Arsenios sat beside you on the bench. "Looking for you."
You were surprised to hear this, but you waited for him to elaborate.
Arsenios leaned back against the bench. "You know you're the talk of the Devildom? Again?"
You frowned. "I didn't know, but I'm not exactly surprised."
"They're saying you wear Lucifer's Ring of Light now," Arsenios said.
You lifted your hand so he could see the ring, snug around your finger. It glinted slightly in the Devildom starlight.
"Do you feel like the ring that connects the worlds?" Arsenios asked. His voice was quiet, but you could hear an underlying pain in it.
You put your hand down and twisted the ring slightly. "I don't know. But I'll do my best to help with uniting them."
Arsenios chuckled softly. "You and Lord Diavolo. He's eternally optimistic about it. I'm not so sure."
"You don't think it will work?" you asked.
Arsenios shrugged. "I think there's a lot of pain and prejudice to get through first. Anyway, I came by because I wanted to see how you were holding up. You look like you're doing all right, though."
"You were worried about me?" you asked.
Arsenios stood up and turned to face you. "Sure," he said easily. "Can't I worry about the human that always listens to my music?"
You shook your head a little. "Don't underestimate me."
Arsenios grinned. "You're right," he said. "It won't happen again. Take care, MC."
You watched him leave the garden, losing sight of him the moment he passed through the main gate. He was only there for a brief moment, but somehow the garden felt empty without him. There was a lingering tension in the air, like the string of a harp wound too tightly and left unplucked. It left you wondering why such an ancient demon would take the time to check in on you.
-
Arsenios made his way down the street from the House of Lamentation. He was glad to see that you seemed to be doing okay. He had heard a lot of rumors swirling around RAD. He could have asked Barbatos about you, of course. He knew that the butler would have told him the truth of things. But he somehow admitted to himself that he wanted to see you with his own eyes.
Arsenios was highly aware of you these days. Every time you stopped in the dance hall to listen to him play, he noticed. He felt your eyes on him, knew you were listening to every note. He had played in front of large audiences, allowing himself to step into a performance persona so he could entertain the masses. But when it was just you, he was always still himself.
An audience of one, something he never thought he would want or need. But now that he'd experienced those moments - the ones where he was playing for himself, creating songs on the fly, letting his heart and his fingers find the right keys, all the while having you as witness to everything he inevitably put into that music - he found himself missing you when you weren't there.
And you weren't always there. In fact, most of the time you weren't. He would never admit to anyone - not even himself - that he perhaps played that piano at RAD more than he would have otherwise. Waiting for you to hear him. Waiting for you to slip inside, to linger in the shadows.
Arsenios wasn't a fool. He knew that even if he didn't go inside the House of Lamentation, Lucifer would know he had been there.
And sure enough, the next day, Arsenios found himself confronted by Lucifer in a hallway at RAD.
"Stay away from MC," Lucifer said to him, not even bothering to pretend at politeness.
Arsenios smirked. He couldn't help himself. "Feeling threatened?"
"By you?" Lucifer let out a little laugh. "I'm unconcerned. But MC has a tendency to think all demons are their friends."
"And you think I'm not MC's friend?" Arsenios asked.
Lucifer frowned. "I am aware of your history, Arsenios. I don't trust you near them."
Arsenios found he was actually offended. He folded his arms and cocked his head. "You know perfectly well that I don't mess with humans anymore. You also know that Barbatos trusts me. Are you saying you know better than he does?"
Lucifer narrowed his eyes at this, as though he was displeased with having been confronted with this fact. "What are your intentions, then?"
Arsenios snorted. "You're dodging the question. But I don't have any intentions."
"Then why ask MC to dance?" Lucifer asked. "Why show up at the House of Lamentation?"
Arsenios paused. Memories flitted through his mind - the first time you listened to him in the dark hall, your serious face whenever you were concentrating in class, your cautious acceptance of his invitation to dance, the way you held up your hand to show him the Ring of Light. He couldn't exactly tell Lucifer that he found you compelling - that there was something about you. He tried to feign nonchalance, shrugging slightly.
"I like MC," he said easily. "That's it. Do I need to have an ulterior motive?"
"If I find out that you do," Lucifer said, his voice low and ominous. "You will regret ever coming near them."
Arsenios laughed. He knew that wasn't a smart response, but it came out anyway. Lucifer's glare deepened. Arsenios put his hands up in a placating gesture.
"I'm sorry," he said. "But I promise you there's nothing else going on here. You really don't need to go out of your way to threaten me."
"That human is under my protection," Lucifer said. "And I still don't trust you."
Arsenios was about to say something else, but Lucifer had already left, stalking down the hall and disappearing into a classroom.
Arsenios made his way to his next class, deliberately sitting down next to Asmo who happened to have that class with him. Asmo was busy checking his reflection in a little compact.
"Hey, Asmo," Arsenios said.
Asmo snapped his compact shut and looked at him, then smiled brightly when he recognized Arsenios. "Arrie! I haven't seen you around in a while! You're always skipping class, but I suppose you missed me, didn't you?"
Asmo leaned in toward Arsenios and ran his fingers up Arsenios's arm.
Arsenios laughed and caught Asmo's wrist gently. "You got me," he said. "I woke up today and went you know what I miss? Asmo's constant flirting."
Asmo nodded. "I knew it. Don't worry, hon, I'll flirt with you relentlessly for the rest of class."
"Really? You'd do that for me?" Arsenios asked. "And here your brother was just threatening me. Are you sure it's okay for you to be so chummy with me?"
Asmo gasped. "My brother? Let me guess. Lucifer?"
Arsenios let go of Asmo's wrist, leaned back in his seat, and frowned. "Is he really that worried about me? He seems to think I'm likely to eat your human."
Asmo huffed a little. "Don't worry about him," he said. "He's just protective of the exchange student. I know you would never eat MC."
Arsenios smiled. "Thanks, Asmo."
True to his word, Asmo flirted relentlessly with Arsenios for the rest of class. Arsenios didn't mind, but his thoughts kept wandering to you, sitting there in the House of Lamentation's garden, wearing the Ring of Light.
Lucifer was right, in a way. Arsenios should stay away from you. But it wasn't for the reasons Lucifer was concerned about.
There were other things Arsenios had to consider. But for now, letting you listen in when he was playing only for himself didn't cause anyone any harm. And checking in on you from time to time was also safe. He knew to be careful. He knew not to let you get too close.
-
You never did get the chance to go to Cafe Lament when Arsenios was playing there. In fact, you always seemed to miss him any time you found yourself there for other reasons.
And then it was already time for you to return to the human world. You didn't know it yet, but you would be spending quite a bit of time there. The brothers would come to visit you as you went through the tasks to become a sorcerer.
You thought of Arsenios every once in awhile, but as that time passed, he mostly faded from your mind. There was too much going on elsewhere in your life and there simply wasn't space for someone you no longer saw on a regular basis.
And then you were finally back in the Devildom, ready to start another year at RAD. You had forgotten about the way you used to hover in the darkness of the dance hall, listening to a demon play the piano. It had been so long since you had seen him, he simply slipped from your mind.
You didn't notice. You had so much to do. There were the brothers needing you, your studies with Solomon, your regular RAD classes, and now you were working to be able to join the student council, too. Every once in a while, you might remember those quieter times you spent listening to the piano. But for the most part, it was forgotten.
Until you couldn't help but remember.

Would you ever consider returning to star wars fic recs? I know you're not strictly a sw blog anymore, but you always had great taste. Thanks for considering!
Hi! It's always on the table, because I do still like Star Wars fic, it's just... ahaha, oh, man, I've been trying to find a way to talk about any of this without sounding tremendously, "Lumi, what am I supposed to even do with this answer you're giving me here?" about my navel-gazing tendencies. In short, I'm really burned out on the fandom for a variety of reasons. Part of it is that we're in a lull, that I still go through the AO3 tags every single night but I'm seeing less and less fic to open up. There are still amazing authors doing tremendous work, but for me it has felt like either fandom has shifted away from what I'm interested in or that we're just in a slower period so there's not much fic for me to click on. But a really big part of it is that I'm so incredibly tired of coming into fandom and feeling disheartened. Whether it's antis mad about what someone else ships or anti-Jedi people just unable to not be shitty about real people Jedi fans because of opinions on fictional characters or even just that there doesn't seem to be as much joy in the fandom lately, it feels like there's just so much anger and depression. Which, I mean, I'm not saying fandom has to change or that a lot of the anger isn't warranted! I get why it happens, as well as fandom doesn't owe me anything, genuinely and truly. But it's also still true that I'm not getting as much of a charge from fandom anymore and if fandom doesn't give me something (rather than feeling like it's taking from me) it's hard not to pull back or go elsewhere sometimes, you know? It's just been so much easier to slide into another fandom where people seem happier to be there, that they actually seem to like the story they're in the fandom for, that they're writing fic that I really vibe with and I don't feel like I have to constantly brace myself against the things that are sore spots because they've been scraped raw for 7+ years now. Which I guess is the long way of saying that I haven't really found a lot I've been vibing with (no value judgement, just a personal statement) and I'm not sure if fandom will get back on track for me, because I'm not sure it feels like we're bringing in many new people these days? I do hope to one day return to SW fic recs, but after having combed the fandom for literally thousands of fics to read and the turns fandom has taken, it's been hard to actually dust myself off and get up again. (Honestly, I'm kind of surprised there aren't other people who are still passionate about SW doing fic recs?)

Hope this is not too silly of a question, but I've been binging Disney Park videos the past handful of days (yes, I am embarrassingly a lifelong Disney Park fan, while also being deeply critical of the company) and I dunno, it got me thinking about what a Disney Date in the Park look like for Dom and Mor. 😅
I feel like Morgan would be a fan of the parks and be really excited about going and geeking out over everything (Morgan absolutely is Disney Princess vibes in my mind) and maybe getting a little overstimulated, while I picture Dom being utterly confused, taking certain things too seriously, but discovering something she genuinely loves and getting consumed in it. And ending the night watching the fireworks show, holding hands, and snuggling up next to each other and being adorably sapphic.
THIS IS THE CUTEST QUESTION PLEASEEE 🥹🥹🥹
in fact it was so cute you got me rambling, so under a read more it goes lmao. I basically wrote a blurb (it gets a little emotional at points cause that's who i am)
So Mor does like a couple of the Disney princesses (she really likes the background art of Sleeping Beauty and likes the movie if you watch it with the lens that "Aurora isn't the main character and neither is the prince, the three fairies are!! It's actually a heroes' journey about the three of them and that's so interesting yknow? What other movie stars three old ladies fighting a dragon???" but Aurora isn't necessarily her fav princess "I mean she just sleeps. the memes about her are funny though." Not technically a princess, but she loves Lilo a lot)
But no, she doesn't go to the parks often because of overstimulation. It's actually Dom's idea cause "Ah couples go to disneyland. That means we should go too? I should ask Morgan if she wants to go." And Mor is surprised, "I haven't been since I was 12? do you want to go???" and promptly discovers Domi has never been to a single Disney park ever in her life, so Morgan makes it her business to give Dom an enriching experience
They spend the next few months doing research between work and life-- on the best places to stay and how to optimize costs-- and it's really business-like and practical. Halfway through the process Domi's like "Is. Is this romantic? We're being so dry" but Mor insists "No it's important to be prepared!! For everything!!"
Anyway, cut to them finally going, it's probably exciting but also a little nerve-wracking. They chose the LA park. Mor did her hair up in buns to match Mickey cause teehee, cute. Dom wears a facemask cause she doesn't want to get recognized. Dom probably wants to take a lot of pictures bc. lol. couples do that?? right??? also Morgan is beautiful and she wants to remember it.
"We should do the hand holding trend"
"N-no Domi I'm too embarrassed"
"NO LET'S DO IT"
They do the hand holding trend. Mor makes it her pfp later.
Mor is constantly trying to sneak in couple selfies and it becomes a personal game to catch Dom looking candid in cute situations (spoiler, Dom's candid is still like a model. High fashion girlfriend + Donald Duck. Mor can't stop laughing)
They start having fun. They're both grumpy at the price of park food and agree not to do many of the rides because "that's an unreasonable amount of people." They try small world and are a little uncomfortable at the dolls, but being together in a little boat on the water is nice-- they end up staring at each other more than the ride and decide to check in. Dom has to lean in close so Mor can hear her over her sound-supressing earbuds. Morgan takes the chance to kiss her and Dom completely forgets what she was saying
After lunch, Mor surprises Dom with Mickey Ears because she HAS to see it. It's as adorable and hilarious as she thought it would be, and when Domi laughs, Mor finds herself thinking about how lonely Dom was as a kid and wonders if she's helping her heal her inner child, bc Dom has helped Mor heal hers. Dom wears it for the rest of the trip and every time she smiles at her, Morgan wants to laugh and cry at the same time.
They surrender and buy $5 churros to eat as they ride the ferry and realize halfway through they keep getting on the boats. Mor is shy but eventually caves and takes a picture with Tiana.
They visit the Disney Gallery to learn about some of the history. Mor already knows a lot of it and ends up filling in some of the gaps to Domi. The awkwardness has completely melted away at this point and Domi is trying to find an artbook or poster she thinks Mor would like. She sees Mor looking at mugs and wonders if she's happy, wonders if she's stopped thinking about all her exes, wonders how anyone could hurt someone has kind as Morgan.
They decide to find a spot for the parade early and talk as the sun sets. The parade starts and Dom holds Mor close so the crowd doesn't make her anxious. She finds herself watching Morgan more than the parade.
As the fireworks start, Dom tells her about a memory of when she was 19. She was staying in Tokyo for a job and watched fireworks alone in her hotel room and wondered if she had made the right career choice. Mor watches the lights dance on Dom's profile and can barely get a whisper out, so she squeezes her hand instead. Dom smiles at her so warmly that Morgan almost feels whiplash
Mor lays her head on Domi's shoulder in the hotel bed and can't get the story out of her mind. Dom's soft breathing doesn't lull her to sleep like it usually does. They were too tired to make love but she desperately wants Dom to know how much she means to her. She settles for crying into her neck quietly and it's a strange mix of exhaustion and sadness and relief and joy. Morgan makes a silent promise to never let Dom be alone again
When they're packing for home in the morning, Dom wonders out loud if they'll come again. Mor asks if Dom had fun, and she smiles so wide that it washes away all the lingering melancholy. Mor promises she'll take Dom whereever she wants to go, whenever she wants to
#lmao i don't think i can do this often but#this is what happens when y'all ask me such cute shit!!#dom and mor#long post /#text heavy /#hm blurbs?

change of plans: part 5
still going with this fuckboi!sero au
sero hanta x fem!reader
part 5/? (part 4 | part 1)
Whatever happens at this party tonight... Maybe it's been a while coming...
nsfw // cw: flirting, teasing, semi-public sex, rooftop sex, sex with feelings?, a little fluff
—
"No way." Sero stares at you in awe when you make your way into Kaminari and Kirishima's shared apartment, "A Cellophane hoodie?! Where the heck did you get that??"
You glance down at your hoodie, that is indeed designed with Cellophane's hero costume in mind, before answering, "There was a pop-up store somewhere last year. I was actually gonna get the Dynamight one, but they sold out, so I just chose this one because it had the next best color scheme."
You wanted a hoodie that could still be subtle or blend in with the normies, and you could never go wrong with black. This Cellophane hoodie is only about half black, the rest being white and orange, but you're lucky that the design still looks pretty good on its own.
Sero, however, turns out to be a huge Cellophane fan, and he’s quite smitten with the sight of you in merch of his favorite character in the Heroes Rising universe. He won’t stop pulling you back into conversation with him, and you can’t even refuse because he sounds genuinely excited about the topic, and you kind of like seeing this side of Sero. Of all the reasons for him to stay glued to your side though, you didn't expect this to be the one...
Plus, you can’t say that all the attention isn’t kind of nice after several weeks of inconsistent contact. You’re sorry to say that you’d rather have it than not have it at this point, but it’s something you’ve come to terms with in the past several days.
"Can I take some pictures of you in the hoodie?" He asks at some point, long after the new episode has finished airing and everyone s broke out in discussion. Everyone in the apartment is just chilling now.
Despite how you had been trying to catch up with Ashido and some of the others, they kept trying to subtly nudge you away from their conversation and towards Sero instead… You can only guess why they’re still trying so hard to get you together with their friend when he’s such a player.
"What? Why?" You say, polishing off your second drink for the evening. You're really trying to pace yourself this time.
"It looks good on you." He says without hesitation, "Why wouldn’t I wanna capture something beautiful?"
You roll your eyes with a groan, "Why don't I just give you the hoodie and you can let someone else model for you then? Anyone will do as long as they're beautiful, right?"
As much as you try not to let the bitterness escape your voice, it slips out on its own when you imagine him actually rubbing shoulders with some other pretty girl who might look cuter in a Cellophane hoodie than you. It makes you angry, but it also makes your heart ache. You’re already wondering why you felt the urge to suggest such a thing in the first place.
His grin suddenly grows a little wider, looking way too amused to mean anything good. He’s already confirming your suspicions when he leans down to bring his mouth closer to your ear, “If only there was anyone else as beautiful as you around here.”
Your ears start burning as you feel his breath fan against it. You want, more than anything, to brush him off with your usual eye roll or to push him away for using such a line on you. But whether it’s because of his proximity, or his scent, or his voice, or a combination of all of it, you feel hot.
"I'm surprised your teeth haven't rotted with all the sugar you keep in your mouth..." You end up saying before walking to another part of the apartment to get another drink.
"Aw, you calling me sweet?" Sero chuckles as he tails you right into the kitchen, where you mix yourself another drink with the small setup on the counter.
You don't bother to answer this time as you pour in a larger ratio of orange juice with your vodka, but you still feel Sero's presence behind you. And then around you when he places both his hands on the counter on either side of you, framing you in his arms. Your breath hitches a little when his voice appears by your ear again, and he murmurs, "Come on, just one photo. I know a good subject when I see it. Please?"
He completely surrounds you, yet he isn't touching you anywhere. Every part of him comes close, but hovers just shy of brushing against you. Even his lips that feel like they're close enough to ghost your ears are still several hairs away. It's driving you crazy.
If he's going to come this close to you, you'd rather he just touch you already. The teasing is far, far worse.
You stare down at your drink for a few critical seconds, running through your options. You've learned that even if you keep up this game of hide and seek with him, he could easily lose interest once you're out of sight. Yet, when you are right in front of him, you seem to become his top priority.
Normally, you would write him off as a tool and disregard his typical playboy behavior, but the fact of the matter is that you have been losing your sanity over this guy. As loud as your intuition is, your body and your feelings still want him. They still think of him even when he's away. And you won't be rid of him until you do something different.
Maybe this is your chance. Surely, there'll be no harm so long as you're careful, right?
Careful...
Right.
Well, here goes nothing.
You take a sip of your vodka orange, which tastes just like that kiss he gave you the last time you were caught up in the kitchen together. And you pray for it give you a little extra courage as you turn around in the cage his arms have created for you and look up at him, "So what do I get in return for being your pretty little subject?"
The small smile he had on suddenly drops in surprise, and he blinks at you for a moment before full on smirking instead. Leaning forward, he completely erases the remaining space between you until your foreheads and noses are touching.
"Oh, I've already got plenty of things in mind..." He says, moving his hands from the counter to rest on your hips, "All you gotta do is pick one."
His lips finally make contact with yours, and you're actually kind of grateful to not have to think of a witty comeback while your brain is fried up with Sero thoughts.
You tug at his shirt by his shoulders, just for something to hold onto to keep yourself grounded. Which gets harder and harder to do by the second as Sero's hands travel around your body, exploring your curves and dips and squeezing whenever he finds a spot he likes. Which ends up being a spot you like and gets a small moan out of you each time.
You have to be the one to pull away and say something, because every time he pulls away first, it's only to stare at you with his hooded eyes for a moment before he just dives back in from another angle. Which you really don't mind, actually, but you'd rather not be in the kitchen by the time this escalates into something else.
Bringing your hand up to his face to push him away slightly, you stare at that mouth that's been turning your brain upside down as you catch your breath. You feel him try to push forward again, but you hold steady for now. And brush your thumb along his bottom lip, stopping just shy of the thin black ring hooked in by his left canine. “What happened to letting this heal?”
A small grin stretches beneath your fingers before he catches your hand in his and leaves a peck on your thumb, then tilts his head to kiss your palm too, “You’re worth all of the consequences.”
Then, as if to prove it, he places your hand on his neck so he can bring you into another kiss. Your mouths rock against each other’s like waves, pushing and pulling, yet still riding a natural momentum. As each second passes by, you only feel Sero’s body twist closer with yours, tangling your limbs, putting your hands everywhere, just kissing until you become dizzy.
It feels so good, just letting him kiss you like this. Letting yourself have this moment, this experience that you’ve been so desperately craving. Consequences be damned. Maybe he’s worth all of them, too.
You pull away — not without difficulty — to say, “Take me to the roof."
Sero smirks again and leans in to give you another short kiss before saying, "I can do that."
Then you're being led by the hand out of the kitchen and towards the door, your drink long forgotten. Sero leads you out of the apartment towards the stairway at the end of the hall, where you walk up two flights until you reach the doorway for the rooftop of the building.
You've been up here once before, when Kaminari and Kirishima hosted a picnic. So you know that this is the tallest building on this block, and no one will likely see you up here from a window or anything.
Thank god, because once Sero swings around and pulls you towards him like a dance partner, you have a feeling that something indecent is about to go down. And when he wraps his arms around your thighs to lift you up and press your back against the wall of the roof’s ledge, that feeling becomes all but a guarantee.
He's already picked up on where he left off in the kitchen as if there was no interruption in the first place. His kiss is deep, thorough, almost soul-sucking, and you can only reciprocate. Now that you’re hoisted up in his arms, you have no choice but to be as close to him as possible, your legs hugging his waist and your arms around his neck.
You can already tell how much he's packing, even through all of the layers between you. And oh, is that gonna be record breaker for you. You haven't even seen it, but you can already tell he's bigger than anyone you've slept with before. Even dry humping him already feels like riding a mountain.
"Ughhhh..." he moans into your mouth as your hips roll into his.
His hands squeeze at your thighs in reaction, close enough to the meat of your ass and the apex of your legs that it stretches your folds apart just the slightest. And the slight spread makes the friction that much better; good enough to make you bow your head back with a moan of your own as you try to press your hips even harder into that monstrous bulge.
Though you've pulled away from his lips to start panting and moaning softly, Sero keeps his mouth on you by latching onto your outstretched neck. He leaves kisses and nips and sucks all over your exposed skin, pleasuring you on two fronts. The soft, wetness from his mouth on your neck clouds your head with sweet affection while the muted heat and pressure from your grinding hips builds an increasingly dire need within your gut. You don't know which one you want more of, but you are more than thankful for both.
Until the need in your gut starts to build. It builds and builds and the muscles in your abs and legs clench as they chase after a high that's blocked beneath a wall of fabrics. The heat in your core emerges as a priority, and you no longer remembering anything that was supposed to hold you back from dousing it with Sero's body.
"Sero..." You say between gasps, and he comes back up to kiss you on the mouth again instead of answering verbally. So you continue, "Put me down."
His eyes fly open, suddenly filled with something that looks like worry, or confusion, probably wondering if you're just going to stop and run away like you usually do. But whatever's going on in his head, he still follows through with your request and sets you back on the ground.
You put all his concerns to rest though, when you reach down to undo your jeans and pull them down to bunch around your lower thighs. Then you take his hand and bring it to the surface of your adequately soaked panties, looking up into his eyes as you say, "Feel me."
"Fuck, that's all I wanna do..." He groans, his fingers already moving to dip and slide into your slit through your panties, wedging them inside of you.
He just rubs a finger back and forth against your clothed slit for a bit before leaning down to kiss you again. Once he's got your mouth latched onto his, he pulls the crotch of your underwear to the side to dip his fingers inside of you. It's an easy and painless slide in, thanks to how wet you are, but your walls immediately contract against his fingers the deeper he sinks in.
You must be worked up from how sensitive you are, and you can't even moan out loud because Sero's got your mouth captive. He's relentless, unable to let you breathe for more than a second and occasionally bumping his lip piercing against your teeth.
He fingers you for a good minute or so, adding them up until he's got four stretching you out while his thumb plays with your clit. And his fingers are long, they reach so much deeper inside of you than you can, and when they stroke against your upper wall, it makes your hips jerk forward.
"Agh! Sero..." You gasp, finally unlatching from his mouth to rest your head back against the top of the roof's ledge.
His sigh is reverent as he brushes against that sensitive pleasure spot again, watching you writhe in his hands with intense concentration, "Fuck yes."
"Ah! Ah! Mngh... Agh! I'm gonna..." You keep crying out, no longer in control of your own voice. You're at the mercy of his longer, dexterous fingers that just play at your inner weak spots like piano keys. Raising your hands to rest on his shoulders, you meet his eyes when you say, "Gonna come soon..."
He lets out a groan as his hand that's not working your insides comes up to wrap around the back of your neck and pull you into another kiss. You're starting to realize that this guy is just really into kissing... which you are not complaining about. He sure knows his way around once he's got his tongue inside you. Sometimes he teases you with little nudges and licks, and others he straight up wrestles you until drool starts to spill out.
You don't fare long against him though, because once the double onslaught from your g-spot and your clit builds up enough to tip you over, you're just moaning into his mouth powerlessly. Your hips are bucking against his hand, dragging out the friction and pleasure, and your fingers pull desperately at Sero's shirt, wrinkling and stretching to the point of snapping a few threads.
His fingers don't stop moving inside you, even as the pulsing slows down and eventually stops. He's still stretching you while you're high on the pleasure, probably to make it easier on you when you have to stretch for something else later...
Just the thought of it has you gulping in anticipation. Is it going to make you come as hard as this? Is he going to be soft like his kisses? Or thorough like his fingers? Or rough like his hands? The more you think about it, the more your heart and walls flutter.
Eventually, Sero pulls his fingers out, and as expected, they're coated to the knuckle. And he holds them up in front of him to just stare at the glistening wetness with hazy, almost disbelieving eyes. After letting out a shaky sigh, he brings his hand to his mouth to lick at each and every one of his fingers before sucking them all clean. While staring right into your eyes.
Good god, your pussy is trembling. The fingering and sex is one thing, but the goddamn intensity of Sero fucking Hanta is what's going to be your demise. You're sure of it. The way he just looks at you like you are going to be the best thing that's gonna happen to him, and vice versa, sends a thrill through your body that you know is dangerous.
Leaning in slowly, Sero speaks into your ear, "Let me get a taste of you. From the source."
And as if to punctuate the request, his hand is already back between your legs, tickling at your sensitive lips.
"Haven't you already put your lip through enough?" You chuckle, thinking about how swollen his lips look.
"Like I said," he brings his hand up to the hem of your panties and pulls them down from your waist to rest atop your bunched-up jeans. And he pulls back to show you his devilishly handsome smirk, "You're worth all the consequences."
You hum in approval as he strokes your naked hips with his fingertips, but you stop him with a hand on his chest before he can start getting to his knees.
"But I want something else." You say, dragging your hand down his incredibly long torso until you can hook your fingertips into the waistband of his track pants. Looking up at him with an innocent expression, you continue, "Didn't you say I could choose?"
"Suppose I did." He chuckles, pressing harder against you to rub his clothed bulge against your now naked pussy. "So if that's what you want—"
He guides your hands to pull his pants and boxers down together, maintaining eye contact with you until he brings one of your hands to touch that hot, hefty monster between his legs. Oh god, you're only touching it but you can feel the weight of it, the... the prowess of it.
"—then I guess I have no choice."
Once you look down, you can't hold in your gasp. Because you were right; he is way bigger than anyone you've slept with before. Long, thick, girthy, well kept, and leaking at the tip. God, it almost scares you, but at the same time, now that you've seen it and touched it, you have to have it inside of you.
You wait patiently as Sero wraps a condom around his horse cock, practically salivating as you watch him cover and jerk himself for you. You have half a mind to get your own mouth around him, just to see if you can take it. But you know that even if your mouth can take it, your pussy can't hold out for much longer now that it's aware of this thing. You're already pulsing again in anticipation.
Sero takes your gaze away from his dick by lifting your chin up to look at him again. And predictably, he brings you in for another kiss, getting you worked up again.
But even his magical mouth isn't enough to distract you from the way that warm shaft makes contact with your skin. His hand maneuvers his cock to rub against your clit several times, drawing circles around it and nudging at it for a bit. It's such a good tease, and it only makes you wetter.
Your breath hitches when he starts sliding past your clit, but then he just pulls it right back. And he does it again, just sliding in against the top of your slit before pulling right back to flick at your clit.
"Ugh... Sero..." You moan. It feels good, it does, but it's not enough. In fact, with how little it gives you, it starts to become torturous as he continues to tease you.
"Yeah, baby?" He says, making your heart jump at the little nickname. It's not like he hasn't called you some cute term of affection before, but with how high strung you are right now, the effect hits so much harder.
And the tension only grows tighter in your body as Sero slides all the way in past your thighs, but only rests against the length of your slit instead of going inside. You're practically dripping now, coating both his dick and your upper thighs and making it oh-so easy for him to keep gliding against your skin.
"Sero, please..." You whine, clutching at his shoulders as you bear the torture of his teasing.
"Shhh..." He shushes you, speaking by your ear. Then he puts his hands on either side of your outer thighs, pressing them together, "Squeeze your legs together, mami. Tight."
You do as he asks, face burning at yet another nickname. Your thighs are pressed tightly together, closing up that small triangle at the apex of your legs and trapping Sero's cock between them.
"Mmm, yeah. That's good." He groans, sliding against your slit and thighs once more, though with more friction than last time, "You already feel so good, [Name]."
His words should not turn you on this much when he's the one getting the most pleasure out of this. They're just words, and he's using you as a flesh doll to just fuck himself continuously through your thighs. He uses his tight grip on your thighs to drag your hips forward and back to ride across the length of his thick, hot shaft, as if it isn’t three times harder to do than just moving his own hips. While his cock does spread your lips with every slide across your slit, it doesn't reach the spots you want him to touch. To fill up.
As much as it frustrates you, it also makes you so hot. His praise in your ear, his cock in your thighs, his hands keeping you squeezed up tight for him... He's using you in the most agonizing way, and yet, you can't help but shiver every time he drags against your flesh. Can't help but groan at the powerful grip his hands have on your thighs. Hands that you know are capable of holding you up for an entire makeout session without tiring.
It's all so good, yet not enough. And he continues the slow torture until your pride completely evaporates from your body, leaving your mouth to run unfiltered and unashamed, "Sero, please. Please, please... If you don't put it in soon, I— I won't... I can't hold out much longer..."
"Is that right, mami?" He smirks, tongue peeking out in pure satisfaction as he tilts your chin up to look at him once more, "You sure this isn't enough for you? I don't wanna scare you off again."
"Please..." You beg, "Just put it inside me. That's all I want."
"All you want, huh?" He ponders, giving you a small peck before finally, finally readjusting his angle to push in towards your opening. "Can't say I don't like the sound of that."
Your body is eager and already begging for it, prompting your mouth to run off again, "Sero, it's all I can think about. You have no idea how bad I want you. Please, just do it. Before I fucking pass out."
Sero shudders against you, which you don't really know how to read into, but you also don't care before he's finally moving inside of you. Thank god.
The stretch is more of a relief than it is a pain at this point, after having been so worked up on anticipation. The moment he's planted in to the hilt, your walls cling to him, tight and possessive. Like you can't risk letting him leave.
"Good fucking god..." Sero groans into the sky, having bent his head back. He calls out your name as if you're up there instead of down here, waiting for him to start moving.
It seems like he’s just trying to prolong this feeling of being inside you for the first time, since his hands keep your hips still whenever you try to move. But you can’t let him enjoy himself all on his own, that’s not what you’re here for.
"Sero," You call out to him, reaching up to kiss and nip at his neck — a first for you, "If you don't pound my pussy in within the next minute, I can still leave."
That seems to do the trick, because his grip on your hips suddenly feels strong enough to break your bones. In a way, you like it, but you're also surprised that he has such a strong reaction to something you were half joking about.
"Oh, you are not leaving until you're fucking ruined, beautiful." Sero says with a proud smirk, pulling his cock out of you to turn you around. He presses you against the ledge and pulls your ass out so he can sink right back inside of you, "You're gonna be thinking about me long after tonight is over."
Somehow, that strikes a chord in you. If only he knew just how much you feared that very outcome. Yet, despite that fear, you're still here tonight, with your ass out and your body trembling. Your relentless desire far outweighs your fear at this point, and right now, you hope to god that he makes good on his word.
With your legs still trapped in your jeans, you can only spread your legs apart so wide, but Sero seems to like it anyway. Even though he's behind you now, he's still relentless with the kissing, turning your head around to shallowly make out with you while he starts moving his hips gently. When your neck can't take the strain any longer and you pull away for air, he still plants kisses along your jaw and ears and neck.
You enjoy the affection, but you're much more concerned with what's happening between your hips. Maybe he's being gentle so that you can get accustomed to his size first, but you would be much happier if he just sped things up. Your pussy is shaking for it.
But even when you try to push your ass back to get more friction, Sero only shushes you and stills your hips with his strong hands again, "No need to rush, beautiful. I'm gonna enjoy every second of this."
"Mmph!" You bite your lip when you feel his hands dip underneath your hoodie and shirt to squeeze at your breasts. He kneads slowly at them and lets out a content sigh, like you both aren't still on top of someone's roof with your pants halfway down your legs. You aren't in a rush, but this is hardly the time or place to be taking his sweet time!
And quite honestly, you don't really need all of that slow-loving pampering either. Not from him. Not if it's just gonna go to your head and leave you in pieces over it later.
"You don't have to treat me so nicely, you know." You say, turning your head to look back at him, where you see him smirking still.
His hands on your chest get harsher, and he traps your nipples between his fingers to squeeze and pull at them while still playing with your breasts.
"Are you saying that because you think I don't want to treat you well, or because you want me to be mean to you?" He smiles into your ear, giving it a small nip.
You make a whiny noise of surprise when he pulls a little harder at your nipples, the shock of pleasure also sending the walls of your pussy fluttering like wings. And you find yourself relieved to have something to clench around.
Sero feels it too, and he lets out a strained groan as his own hips reflexively buck up into you. Which, in turn, creates a domino effect as it sends pleasure right back into you, his cock hitting you deep and making you squeeze him again, and subsequently urges him to thrust into you again to get more of that tightness around his length.
"Mmh, yes. Sero, more of that." You whine, clutching onto the ledge as you shake your ass against his hips.
"Fuck mami, look at you go.” He chuckles with a playful smack to your ass. “Alright, since that’s what you want.”
His hands find a good, tight grip on your waist and he pulls all the way out, until only the tip is left inside you. Your entire body braces for what’s sure to be the harsh impact you’ve been waiting for, yet somehow, it’s not enough to prepare you for just how deeply he drills into you.
“AH!” You scream, slamming your face into your arms that rest stop the roof’s ledge.
Oh my god.
Oh my god.
“Ah! Ah! Nyagh! Nnh—!”
You can’t stop your voice from coming out. Each and every impact is just that powerful. You’re fairly sure that your insides aren’t as long as his cock is, and yet, he slams his hips right up against your ass every time. He fills up parts of you that you haven’t even touched yourself, drawing out sounds and reactions from you that you’ve never made before with anyone else.
“God, you feel fucking amazing, [Name].” Sero grunts as he thrusts at a fast, but thorough pace, making sure that he goes all the way in each time. “Your pussy's fucking magical. So wet and tight. Ahh god...”
You know he’s exaggerating but you can’t help but love the praise nonetheless. In fact, it makes you clench tighter around him whenever you can catch him upon impact, making the drag out all the more torturous for him so that all he’ll want is to come right back inside.
"Mm... fuck me faster and see if it gets any better." You challenge him, but it seems that he doesn't need the bait.
"You read my mind, beautiful." He rewards(?) you with a loud spank, making your body jolt with a scream before he locks his hands around your hips to start pounding you. Like, really pounding.
You don't know how he does it, but within seconds he's pinpointed your most sensitive spot and he's jackhammering at it like mad, until your own voice is vibrating from all the thrusts interrupting your yelling.
"Aa-a-ah-gh-h-hhh—! Fuck, Sero!" You gasp out, barely able to hold yourself up against the ledge anymore. Thank god he wraps his arms around your waist and chest to hold you up against him while he fucks manically into you from behind.
Even as your body naturally arches away in pleasure, Sero keeps you held tight as possible to him, and he still manages to get his lips on your neck as his hips are pumping lightning into your body.
"Agh, yes!" You sigh out as you feel your peak approaching, reaching one hand up to clutch his forearm around your chest and the other up behind you to grip at his hair, "Yes! Oh... my god. Ahn...!"
It doesn't take much more to make you come. Even if he didn't grope at your breast and nipple, or reach down to rub at your clit, or whisper, "Come while I'm inside you, mami. I wanna feel you come around me. Please." you would have finished anyway. But since he did do all of those things, you came so much harder than you even imagined.
You swear your eyes are shaking within your trembling body as you come while shackled in Sero's arms. The fact that he's keeping you locked against him while you lose control of your body gives you an entirely different high that mixes a dangerous cocktail with the high from your orgasm. And when he moans into your ear as he comes just after you, hips pushing into you in long pauses to extend his orgasm, your heart flutters in tandem with your walls around his cock, whimpering in helpless pleasure.
"Sero..."
Oh, this is bad. So, so very bad.
"Yeah, baby?" He kisses your neck before nuzzling his face into it.
One more time, you're internally screaming. Let's do it one more time.
You're addicted. You already know it. You've finally had a real hit and now you already want more. It's over for you.
Already, your hips are fishing for more as you wiggle them back against him and squeeze around him like he still has more to give you. Sero chuckles as he fondly squeezes at your ass cheek and leaves another kiss on your neck before pulling out, which you almost cry over.
Though you soon realize it's so he can remove and tie up the condom. And in the few seconds it takes for him to get it sealed up, it gives you some time to cool off and come to your senses. Now that you're not pressed up tight onto Sero's body and rubbing your sweat and fluids together, you can finally think a bit again.
You turn around to lean your back against the roof's ledge again, still wobbly from your orgasms and much less stable on your feet now that Sero has let you go. Realizing that he must have been holding up a good portion of your weight as he fucked you the whole time suddenly sends a small shiver to your core again, making you wonder just how strong he really is...
Your few seconds of reflection are soon taken up again, however, when Sero returns to take up your personal space once more. And like that, he cups your face in his hands to bring you in for another long, sweet kiss.
Ugh, why does he keep doing this? All these tender kisses paired with the lingering high from your orgasms make you feel like you're floating. Does he make everyone fall for him this easily? And now that you've lived through it, can you even blame them?
When he finally pulls away, you see that he looks just as dazed as you feel, at least. You can feel his thumbs caress across the surface of your cheeks as he smiles humorously down at you, "T’as d’beaux yeux, tu sais."
And just like that, the haze is lifted. You're so caught off guard by hearing the French words come from Sero's mouth that it takes you a moment to realize what he even said.
You have beautiful eyes, you know.
You stare up at him, blinking for a few breaths before you feel the muscles in your face already contorting upward. You try to press your lips together in a natural urge to fight it off, but seconds later, you still burst out laughing anyway.
Not a short, simple chuckle either. You're thoroughly losing your already short breath and you have to hang onto his shoulders as you laugh into his chest. And Sero actually looks a little stunned. Whether it's because he's confused or embarrassed by your reaction, you can't tell.
"Where did you learn that from?" You laugh when you finally calm down, taking your hands back.
Though his pronunciation was good, it's clearly just a phrase he learned on whim. And his performance was actually quite reminiscent of that classic, romantic scene from the film that famous line came from. Which is what made the entire thing so much more theatric and hilarious.
"Yaomomo taught it to me. I thought it'd be cute." He smiles, "Though now I kinda wish I knew how to say, 'you have a beautiful laugh' too."
Your own smile drops in surprise, yet again getting caught off guard by this guy's soft eyes and sincere-sounding voice. But you quickly try to brush it off with a scoff and shake of your head.
Who the heck is this guy? Making you come, laugh, and blush all within the same handful of minutes. All while you've both still got your pants bundled around your knees. It's all so ridiculous, yet so welcoming. You have no idea what to do about it.
But you suppose this relatively pleasant break in the mood is a blessing in disguise, because now that you've actually cooled your head and body a bit more, you can see that it's probably not a good idea to do anything more while you're up here. The rooftop of someone else's apartment building is hardly the place for marathon sex.
So after pushing him off of you, you take a deep breath and say, "Let's head back in."
You pull up your (still very wet) panties and jeans, trying to put yourself together as best as you can without a mirror around. Sero follows your lead and tucks himself back into his track pants beside you.
Once you're ready, you're about to start heading back towards the door that leads back to the staircase, but Sero stops you with a hand around your wrist, "Hold on."
"W-What?" You ask nervously. What else could you possibly do up here now that you've both put your clothes back on?
"Just one more thing." He says, pulling you back towards him and then backing you into… another side of the ledge with his hands on your arms.
He gives you a quick, but soft kiss before letting you go and backing up, leaving you a little dazed since you're still kind of fading out of all the sex fumes. You don't even realize what he's doing until his phone is pointed at you and the camera shutter clicks.
And then you're blushing, suddenly very aware of what you must look like in that photo. Kissed up, head nowhere on Earth, and probably like a love-drunk idiot. Immediately you're throwing your sleeve-covered hands up to hide from his camera, suddenly shy even though you had his dick inside of you not long ago.
"Oh my god, stooop..." you whine lamely, but still peeking indignantly at him anyway. Why does he have to always catch you off guard like that?
"There. Beautiful, just like I thought." He smiles, looking happily down at his phone at what you assume must be the photos he just snapped of you...
"Sero, delete that..."
"No way. We already agreed to this trade deal." He smiles cheekily, pocketing his phone before he walks up to you again and plants his hands on the ledge on either side of you. Just like he did to you in the kitchen. Then he leans in close to say quietly, "I gave you what you wanted, didn't I?"
You swallow quietly.
Well... you suppose that's true. You did say — in the heat of the moment — that that was all you wanted... But you thought the photo of you in the Cellophane hoodie was all just a pretense for what you just did. To think he still wanted it even afterwards...
"I... wasn't ready. Just take another one." You pout.
"No." He says, leaning just far back enough for you to see that stupid, cheeky smile still on his face, "I like it when you're candid. An honest subject always makes a photo better."
The way he looks at you has your heart rate picking up again. It's like he's studying you while deeply admiring you, and also like he wants to kiss you again. Which, you can already tell, is the last thing you need, judging by the way his teeth scrape at his bottom lip and pull gently at the black ring attached to it.
You've already stirred up enough confusion between your heart and brain and body tonight. This is as far as it goes for now.
"Whatever. Fine." you scoff, pushing him away to start towards the door again, "You got what you wanted then, right? Let's get going."
"Vamos." He agrees, letting you lead the way, but sticking close to your side the entire way back.

JJK and pacing
Currently this has genuinely become one of geges biggest problems when it comes to his writing.
The pacing of Jujutsu kaisen has been (to me) all over the place.
At first it wasn't really something that bothered me neither was it that noticeable however, there were some issues with it. For example, I would of liked to see more of the Tokyo trio. I get that not seeing them a lot is the point and it's supposed to further emphasise the tragedy that happens to them but it's kind of hard to believe that they really care for eachother when Iam just being told they do instead of actually seeing it. To sort this problem out gege could of included some of the light novel moments into the manga like nobara dragging megumi around and calling him "city boy" or megumi cleaning yujis room after he died in chapter 8.
The pacing is all good until AFTER the shibuya incident arc where things start to go a bit haywire in my opinion.
Personally I believe that the culling games had its ups and downs and sometimes while reading it I would feel like some events would be dragged out a whole lot more than others while some don't get as much screentime as they deserved. (Now I do believe that Iam somewhat bias because I was reading the manga as chapters were coming out) but moments like charles vs hakari felt like gag type chapters that weren't my favourite (although I doubt I can judge considering that akutami wrote it because he felt like mangakas get judged too much but iam not a huge fan of Charles).
Now one of my main problems during this arc and the current one is that gege seems to forget about characters or plot aspects that he introduced to the point where I don't think he will bring them back until the last second. Throughout the whole culling s games arc no one and I mean NO ONE used a black flash.
Also characters like momo, Todo, nobara, kirarka and others haven't received much screentime during that arc which was really disappointing. I seriously thought that gege had forgotten about Todo so I was definitely surprised when he recently made a come back when it came to the plot however any type of excitement faded away due to him not being in the plot for so long. The culling games and the current arc could of been a great way to expand and build up on existing characters like utahime, momo, shoko and panda instead of sidelining characters or forgetting about them like inumaki and nobara.
There's also the fact that we were introduced to angle who seemed to know sukuna really well and even labeled him as 'the fallen'. Gege akutami does nothing more to expand this character and her knowledge and only nerfs Hana (who actually had a slow and interesting build up before meeting her) and basically make us forget about angle.
The plot during the current arc to some has gotten somewhat repetitive but I would like to say otherwise considering that it was obviously going to be a fight but Iam worried that we aren't seeing much of megumi and their plan of trying to save megumi. The pacing at the moment seems to be wacky and seems to slow down at times to make sure that every character is included while excluding characters and plot aspects like the merger that is within sukunas possession or the fact that kenjaku just got killed and written out of the plot in the worst way possible??!?!?
Personally, I believe that the pacing of the culling games arc should of been sped up a tiny bit while it actually fleshed out and built up character moments and arcs. While the pacing of this arc should be slowed down a tiny bit to flesh out certain moments and plot events, while building up future plot twists.
In conclusion, the inconsistency of JJK'S pacing is what causes the lack of build up and foreshadowing to word building, plot twists and overall plot itself.
#jjk#jjk critical#JJK#Jujutsu kaisen#pacing#jjk rambles#jjk rant#jjk is a good story but dam the pacing is atrocious#pacing is crucial to a story#lacking pacing = lacking build up#jjk ramblings

warren is creepy though. he thinks snuff films are funny. he says to max's face that he's disappointed she won't have sex with him within 3 weeks of knowing him. he plays max and brooke off each other by lying about the tickets for the drive in. he knows how to build pipe bombs. he almost beat nathan to death because he was angry.
I was so surprised seeing this LOL I didn't know that that reached people because I thought my hashtags never worked. Not that I expected it to or that I'm great at writing them down either tho. (Turned out seeing the few likes, it did reach people lol). But, well, obviously I didn't go to law school, Anon, you haven't given me time to do it (heh, and also because obviously that's a joke).
I read this on the day you sent the ask to me btw (which was months ago), but it took me a long time to write this because I got distracted so BADLY. So, sorry for the wait... if you are waiting xD I won’t expect anyone, even you, Anon, to read this. I genuinely don’t give a shit if no one reads this, but I still want to try to argue back. My mindset throughout this eSsAy will be as open and fair as I can.
1. "he thinks snuff films are funny."
Okay, let's pull up the script.
Warren: Haha. Make sure you watch Cannibal Holocaust. Max: No fucking way will I watch that. My mind is twisted enough... Warren: I laughed my ass off. (Episode 1: Crystallis)
Okay, first off, Cannibal Holocaust is not a snuff. That’s false. It is a cult classic horror film. It’s one because it’s (one of?) the first of its kind. Also, while it IS controversial and violent and there ARE something inside that are SO BAD WHYDIDTHEYHAVETODOIT, the film actually has an interesting and legit message. I think it’s not weird if Warren, being a fan of disturbing films or obscure films in general, will be interested in watching the so-called “cult classics”.
So regarding why he laughs, a possibility is that he laughs to pretend/show off to Max that he is tough. I mean, he literally shows off his car in that scene, to impress her. Weird flex but okay, bro.
Another possibility which is more probable is it’s because Warren has a dark sense of humour. Max knows this the day she meets him for the first time, that “he’s dark”. You can read it from her diary.
I think he has a higher tolerance than the average person after getting desensitised watching too much horror, which is why he laughs. Because he sees the comedy somewhere. And I think I have an idea where it is. Hint: It’s connected to the message of the film.
The message is the irony of how fast the characters adapt to savagery and exploit the tribe and their culture for the media, which raises the question: “So which one is the savage one? The tribe who people think should have been the ‘uncivilised’ or the characters who should have been the ‘civilised’ ones?” That twist can be funny with a dark sense of humour. Or it can be as simple as how the climax is satisfying/amusing with the characters getting what they deserve after all they have done fucking with the tribe. Hell, if you want to be meta and look into the background story of the filming, you can laugh too at the hypocrisy between the message and the film’s status as an exploitation film.
2. "he says to max's face that he's disappointed she won't have sex with him within 3 weeks of knowing him."
Hmm, that got filtered by your interpretation so let's go back to the root again aka the script to be objective.
Max: So you're sensitive... Warren: Ouch... That sounds awful the way you say it. Max: How so? Warren: Sensitive usually means "won't be having sex with you." Max: Oh, gawd! You need a sensitive woman to kick your ass. (Episode 1: Crystallis)
I want to confess. I had to think hard about what this means, maybe because I didn’t get the reference, because I’m not a native, or just because it’s a bad dialogue. I mean, of course, it sounded bad but I didn’t know EXACTLY what it meant. It took me 6 months to get it… somewhat… From my understanding, he means that “sensitive/nice guys finish last”, no? So the concern is about Nice Guys™?
I won’t wave this off, Anon, it’s still a distasteful comment to say, I admit. But I believe it’s a bad joke made by Warren, an awkward kid, who tries to hit on the girl he got a crush on. The whole scene is about him trying to be smooth, but failing miserably because (1) as I said, he’s awkward, you are not smooth enough, bro; (2) that’s the wrong thing to say, bro; (3) Max is not interested in you, bro (unless you make her be, I guess).
Warren is cringey. I have facepalmed a lot of times listening to him or reading his texts to Max, but we are all cringey in our teenage years. I don’t want to elaborate on my cringey-ness but I want to at least tell you that I did have a Warren, Anon. I rejected him hard and harshly (which I regret but I was also a teenage kid). But he was ultimately a good kid and we are still close friends. He’s matured and thriving now and I have no doubt if Warren were real, he would mature and thrive too now.
3. "he plays max and brooke off each other by lying about the tickets for the drive in."
Okay, let’s search for those.
Warren: BTW, the drive-in is actually popular so I'm buying the tix now. Warren: I'll have an extra one. In case you change your mind. [Wed; morning] (Warren’s text messages in Episode 3: The Chaos Theory if you decline the invitation.)
Warren does talk about two tickets but the drive-in charges per car, not per person (based on the poster). What’s the subtext of this dialogue? It’s saying that Warren still hopes that Max comes with him. Even deeper is Warren nudging Max to convince her subtly to go with him. I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I don’t know why these inconsistencies happen, but inconsistencies are not uncommon in the game. So let’s rewrite the text message dialogues to remove the inconsistency, but keep the subtext.
Warren: BTW, the drive-in is actually popular so I'm buying the tix now. Warren: I’ll keep your spot open. In case you change your mind.
Nothing is different. The subtext is still the same. So if his narrative is to… I don’t know, to manipulate Max to go with him, I don’t see why he has to lie in the first place. Because my rewrite does the same job of the subtext. Maybe it is a development mistake.
These are the dialogues that are relevant, right after Max accepts or declines the invitation:
If Max accepts: Warren: I have to tell Brooke I'm going with you to the movies instead. I'll text you later? If Max declines: Warren: Uh, I have to see if Brooke wants to go to the drive-in, Max. Maybe I'll see you later. [Tue; morning] (Episode 2: Out of Time)
Okay, the first one sounds like Warren has invited Brooke first before Max with that “instead” and the second one sounds like Warren hasn’t invited Brooke at all. Weird, isn’t it? This is why people say Warren is playing off both girls. But there’s this dialogue:
Brooke: That's so ironic that Warren asked Max to the drive-in. Brooke: It's not like I don't own all the original "Apes" films. Brooke: Maybe I should've asked Warren to go... [Thu; afternoon] (Episode 4: Dark Room) [Max accepts Warren’s invitation route]
“Maybe I should’ve asked Warren to go”? In the narrative of if like you say, Warren playing them off, this dialogue doesn’t really add up, does it? It sounds like Warren never invites Brooke at all, or at the very least, they talk about wanting to go but never commit to doing it together. Does this make sense?
So what is this? Which one is right? Are these inconsistencies again? Maybe? Am I wrong? Tbh, my head hurts already LOL Tell me what you think. I’m so tired of this game’s inconsistencies.
Brooke is the second choice here. I don’t deny that. She always is even in the alternate universe, poor girl. Even after Warren says that he will ask Brooke instead after Max declines that morning, I think he still procrastinates on that and keeps hoping Max will change her mind until the next day. That’s why later he says: “I’ll have an extra one” (or “keep your spot open” in my rewrite) [Wed; morning].
And then, there’s the scene where Max is dared to kiss or not kiss Chloe [Wed; morning] (Episode 3: Chaos Theory). Regardless of whether Max kisses her or not, Chloe will text Warren later [Thu; morning]. In the route of Max declining Warren’s invitation, it sounds like he finally gets that Max is either not interested in romance or is interested in Chloe. So Warren gives up and he finally invites Brooke to the drive-in (Episode 4: Dark Room) [Thu; afternoon].
Just like Max is not interested in Warren and prioritising Chloe, Warren doesn’t seem to be interested in Brooke and he prioritises Max. Insensitive? Yes lol But, they are teenagers having a crush.
I hope all this makes sense.
4. "he knows how to build pipe bombs."
Because he's a nerd. A nerd who spends his time experimenting with chemistry. Pipe bombs are simple to make too. Max can even make it with his instructions. It's not weird if he knows how to build a lot of stuff. When you are passionate about something, you will want to learn more stuff, right?
Also, Anon, in high school, we begged our chemistry teacher to put potassium inside the water after we heard it would explode. She reluctantly yielded and yeah, it exploded and we screamed and laughed. She immediately regretted her decision. My point is explosion is exciting, Anon. There’s a reason why teenagers like to play with fireworks. Dangerous? Duh. It’s exciting tho, said a lot of teenagers.
God knows I got knowledge on weird stuff just because of some morbid curiosity or because one of my interests gets me interested in researching weird stuff. But my point is, it’s the same with Warren in this case. It’s not weird at all that a science nerd knows how to build a pipe bomb.
5. "he almost beat nathan to death because he was angry."
This, is my favourite point you made. Because despite all the people who decided to let Warren beat up Nathan, you use this point to imply that this isn't right, which weirdly makes me happy to see that it's acknowledged. Because it IS not right! Sorry, I'm just a Nathan trash (who wants to punch him too ironically but of course, I wouldn’t do it lol Sorry, Nate). Of course, you may say this with the intention of “there is something wrong with Warren based on this scene, some anger issues or something which is… dangerous.” Well…
You know, Anon, the thing with Warren is, the game subtly told us that he is bullied. And I was spending time trying to find evidence but I’m frankly so tired of combing the Wikia HAHAHA Turned out, someone has talked about it already.
There’s no confirmation on who bullies him (eh), but my guess is having a room across the kInG oF bLaCkWeLl's (I hate that dumb cheesy nickname lol) is not a good time for him. People can interpret it as him being angry because his crush is getting attacked by Nathan again, but I don't really see that tbh. Maybe it starts off as that, but later it explodes because of the pent-up anger he feels inside after all the bullying he has experienced. That’s the first time he beats up someone. He doesn’t even know he could do that.
Of course, this is just a different interpretation. Some people choose to interpret something from this side of the spectrum and there are people who choose to do it from the other side of the spectrum. I chose “this side of the spectrum” to give you a different interpretation to ponder upon.
People could scoff and say, “Now you are just being biased.” Well… That’s what Warren haters do too. Being biased. Because Warren has so many positive things too, you know? It’s just the same as how Chloe haters are biased and ridiculously bash her hard outside of the fandom, when she has so many positive things.
People could scoff again and say, “You are using ‘him being a teenager’ too much as an excuse.” I believe we are too hard on teenagers. Yes, even the 18-year-old kids. You don’t magically mature and know everything about yourself or the world once you are 18 years old (or 19), even if society deems them as young adults. I sure didn’t when I was 18 (or 19). I only knew what my favourite colours are in my 20s! (Answer: the shades of pink, red-purple, and true red.) Everyone has their own pace. Warren is approximately a month before 17.
Also, I believe in mental growth. If people love the idea of flawed Warren as a character and then they write a fanfiction about him maturing and growing as a person and Max is in the picture, is that a bad thing? Of course not, it’s just them believing in the potential inside a character and character dynamic and using it as a creative outlet. Characters in “Life is Strange” are created to be in the grey shades. From the almost-white (like Kate and Samuel maybe) to the almost-black (like Jefferson). Max is grey. Chloe is grey. Rachel is grey. Warren is also grey. It’s not a bad thing to love fictional grey characters or even villains.
Lastly, let this be a reminder, not only for Anon, but for people in general, that… you don’t know why someone loves something. They may have nuanced reasons that they can’t explain fully if they don’t write long-ass essays and even if they do write one, sometimes people don’t even care about reading it. But if you keep an open mind and listen, maybe you won’t agree, but at least you understand a little bit and respect the opinion. Like, for example, hell, if I hear someone seriously loves Jefferson I will be so baffled (I hate him), but I will be so interested in hearing it and I'll still be so baffled but I’ll respect that, you know? Maybe I'll laugh a lot but only because I’m entertained and happy that they explain it to me. (I’m seriously interested so hit me up if any lol)
But that’s only me and my mindset. The general rule is just please be respectful.
Maybe after this, more people will come to my inbox and point out more things to argue. While… um, okay, I did say I claim to be Warren’s personal lawyer (and I was obviously joking) but until when will you people do this? xD Okay, I can’t stop it, or I can but I don’t want to block the few anonymous asks to my inbox, but since my lawyering is not paid by Warren, whether I will write an essay like this again or not will depend on my time and mood hehehehe xD
Thank you for the ask. I enjoy writing this! For Warren sympathisers, I hope I do him justice. If not, I’m sorry, but let’s hear it.
I'm shocked if someone is actually reading this, but if so, thanks for reading.
Kris

abt the stuck in the wringer ask, if mr. enter meant him overreacting to the joke as a joke in itself then i don't know why he felt the need to say the writer's don't deserve jobs anymore like huh? i mean yeah the episode blows but is it really that big of a deal?
Tbh I don't get it either. I'll be honest I haven't watched that video in years so I'm going off memory. He was very harsh and he acted shocked that his fan base actually went after the writers while he was saying "these writers don't deserve jobs" "these writers should've never been born". Regardless of if he was exaggerating or if he genuinely meant it. I feel like if you have a sizable fan base then you should be more careful with what you say, and that especially since this all lead to death threats to the writers. I am surprised he didn't see it coming.
Ngl I am astounded by the way the SB fan base acts. I get it's because its so large so you get all kinds of people in there, but also sometimes it feels weird to get so overblown with stuff you don't like. I feel this way about cartoon fandoms in general but I don't watch as much cartoons as I used to.
I'm not guiltless either since I started off watching Mr. Enter's Spongebob reviews when I was in middle school😭😭😭 I fell out of interest with the show during that time and I guess I was more looking into a reason why I don't like the middle seasons anymore, "cuz they're bad, writers ruining it, etc". I look back on it now and find it ridiculous. I still don't like the middle seasons and I definitely had my fair share of trash talking it, even on this blog years back. I just don't agree with it as much anymore. There's plenty of reasons why they turned out like that (budget issues, experimenting and trying to keep up with the style of humor that was popular then, simple preferences, etc). They don't deserve the hate they got and the writers ABSOLUTELY deserved better than the shit the fanbase has given them.
Eh but the discussion of Spongebob is still fun to me. I think those negative cartoon reviewers weirdly was what got me back into the show because I actually had to sit down and rewatch the show again which made me fall in love with the show again, and now I am turning 24 tomorrow and I'm realizing that my current Spongebob obsession streak has been going on for 10 years now <3
I find it ironic with how it started since I refused to care for anything beyond the first three seasons and now I'm the biggest fan of the modern show plus the spinoff The Patrick Star Show. AND have a favorite character who ISN'T spongebob. Opinions change.
I just wish the way the fandom function would also change. The ghosts of those cartoon reviewers still echo on :((
#The only thing new is the fact that now people use Hillenburg's death to complain about the show#Idk I'm rambling here my thoughts are scattered at the moment#Ask#The spongebob connoisseur

Heavy stuff, venting.
I'm having a really, really awful time right now and it just sucks a lot. Things have been tough offline on a lot of levels lately. I don't share much of my creative stuff with people IRL, but it's one of the things that can give me a lot of joy through the day even when things are hard. Creative stuff can mean stories, or designs, or analysis. Even just poking around seeing what other people have done will cheer me up. I've been taking a break from FFXIV for a bit. I didn't play the most recent patch or holiday stuff. Some of the pacing and directions feel like missed opportunities. I might try again in Dawntrail but at this moment I'm taking a break to do BG3 for a bit. I've been interested in DnD for years, and I actually have a million ideas and things I find exciting tied to the Forgotten Realms. Haven't gotten to do more than the very beginning of a campaign because schedule hell but I'd really love to. BG3 has been a chance for me to actually interact with the world on my own terms a bit and it's been a big source of joy for me lately. And I love that Larian put as much thought and layering for the characters psychologically, overall. I love that they generally haven't shied away from stuff either. If I try to look at tags for say, Gale though? Mostly instead of other people making things, I've been getting people who are absolutely furious about how devs talked in a recent interview. I've dealt with characters I love to bits being treated in horrifying ways before. People who were with me when I did Spidey stuff will probably remember some of it. Shit was genuinely incredibly upsetting. I don't think the things people are mad at Larian about are intentional by Larian in the way they're being interpreted. I think this could probably be resolved just by explaining concerns assuming it was unintentional, without rage or accusation. They seem to really care about their fans and given the story told I think they care about their own characters too. Business bits aside. I haven't talked about any of this on tumblr or twitter because like... right now people seem to be a kind of angry where if you aren't angry the way they are, then fuck you you piece of shit basically. But if I'm just trying to make things, or find other people making things, or do analysis? I've just been wading through the anger from other people. It's more stress when I just don't need it. I've tried to find BG3 or DnD discords. I haven't found one for BG3. The DnD ones, I think there's a combination of them being kind of dead and... not really a place for what I do or how I talk. I have two homebrew monsters and a homebrew item I'd love to keep refining but I have no idea how stats work, and I can only really go so far on my own not having done a campaign in any way. Someone suggested I make my own discord community, and I could try, but idk if anyone else would be interested and being in-charge makes me anxious. Same time I'd be really nervous about whether discords run by other people are chill. I desperately, desperately want to avoid drama.
And stupidly I went to the official forums for lack of knowing where else to go. I was surprised that people were nice initially but one person came in and has been making weird personal attacks, backhanded compliments, talking like they're the authority on all things (lore, morality, storytelling as a whole). If you have a different opinion you are wrong and a bad person and stupid too. I genuinely think this person might be a narcissist and they are setting off every possible warning bell with me. Like I'm actually freaked out by how out of touch with reality they are. This person is making shit up that was never discussed, gaslighting like crazy, twisting words, and going into rages claiming I went nuclear when my whole point was 'why the fuck are you being mean to me and trying to boss me around???' I was very much not happy with the person but I was fucking careful not to insult them. And now I think this person doesn't want to leave me the hell alone. And like, I straight up said I don't want to talk to them further. When the user had a MASSIVE GODDAMN TANTRUM full of personal insults and accusations, I didn't reply. I thanked one other person in the forum for mentioning they read the message as hostile too, mentioned my 'leave me alone' message wasn't taken in its intended spirit, and touched briefly on why the accusations hit a particular sore spot. Then I apologized for derailing and switched to discuss character interpretations again.
Lunatic is like 'oh these replies to my message are so interesting, I'm going to answer you all once the website stops glitching'. And I swear to fuck I can hear the strings from Psycho going off.
I don't really trust that forum moderators will intervene. It's been a whole day since my first attempt to report, when the initial message happened. The second message was much worse. I generally don't trust people to take it seriously if harassment like that is happening. My assumption is if it's criminal I need to go to the police but otherwise like... no one is watching out for shit. And there is no block system on those forums.
I AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE CRAP MAN. I CARE ABOUT THE CHARACTERS. I CARE ABOUT AND INTERPRET CHARACTERS IN A WAY NOT EVERYONE ELSE DOES. I DON'T NEED PEOPLE TO AGREE BUT FOR FUCK'S SAKE LET ME MAKE AND TALK ABOUT SHIT IN PEACE. If I touch on a heavy topic, it's because I think it's warranted or adds a layer to the narrative that explains things or otherwise makes sense. I'm going to navigate heavy topics with care and empathy because I am very aware people get seriously hurt by that shit, a LOT of creators are actively cruel to victims, and! I love the characters! People are allowed to tell stories that cover the darker parts of human experience, not just the ones a single specific person approves of! And if you don't fucking like how someone else interprets or makes shit, DON'T READ IT AND MAKE YOUR OWN CRAP.
This was probably horrible interneting in the sense that I shouldn't have replied at all, but what the everloving fuck. How do you go up to random strangers and lead with condescension like that? How do you go through life just assuming everyone different from you has something wrong with them? EDIT: Person has escalated. Not sure what to do. Have reported a lot but no action yet. FURTHER EDIT: Mod showed up and said 'people are allowed to disagree, be nice, there's a hidden ignore button on a separate webpage'. The personal attacks are allowed to stand and TOS seem to be meaningless. Another user pointed out that the lunatic had been recognized as aggressive by two people and that my analysis wasn't unreasonable or uncommon even if they didn't subscribe themselves. Person private messaged with me and was pretty reassuring. I'm just on the page of 'fuck those forums I am never coming back' at this point, with the added understanding that if I tried to talk again at all the lunatic would 5000% continue trying to harass me. I just hope they get distracted and move on/forget basically. Fuck that shit.

Share your thoughts on the final of BNHA once you finished it, please
Yes! Sorry, I'm late. I was away this weekend, so I actually still haven't had the chance to read the official translation, but these are some of my thoughts that I'm going to try to limit to a few paragraphs (feel blessed that I don't subject this blog to all of my anime tangents).
The tl;dr version is...whelmed, but more positive than negative.
I don't hate the ending as much as some people, but I can also admit that it's a tough one for fans who aren't there for Bakugou or Deku, and even then, there still feels like there are chunks missing from their respective stories.
Obviously, I'm mostly into this series for Bakugou. I would argue, objectively, that he has the most dynamic and satisfying arc in the series overall. For someone who seems to be more of an artist than a storyteller (this isn't to say he's terrible or anything, I actually think he's good at this too), Hori did a pretty good job with him. I'd say he fulfilled he promise to treat his story with care. I wish we had more inner thoughts, more conversations. The biased part of me thinks there should have been more recognition for what he contributed to the final battle. But then another part of me thinks, well, it's in character for Bakugou to want to keep those moments (i.e. what happened with Shiggy) private. We should have at least gotten a scene of AM signing his card. But I also knew we wouldn't because I, to this day, still believe that was a random thing Hori threw onto his death fakeout to make it seem more tragic, and not because he genuinely wanted it to be a part of Bakugou's story line. I'll stand by this! But he should've signed his card.
Idk if I'm in the minority about this yet or not, but I don't mind Deku's ending. It was surprisingly, refreshingly, bittersweet. This series has, in the past come across as too optimistic for me. I was full expecting everything to ~work out, and I mean, it still kinda did? But Deku losing his quirk, everyone growing apart and moving onto their respective adult lives, that's all very real. But I also don't think that takes away from Deku's identity as a hero. Those who expected him to end the series as the strongest, most admired, rich etc, hero perhaps have forgotten that Deku was never motivated by any of those. He's in it because he genuinely care for humanity and wants to help others, and he continues to do that into his adulthood, with or without a quirk. I don't think we're supposed to pity him, and it's too bad that's what some are doing. He's happy! And we see the impact he's made on everyone at the end.
At the same time, the absence of Deku's inner monologues in particular, create a weird distance from him, and wish Hori had brought it back in the final chapters. We never really got to know what he thought about the final battle. And even outside of him, I surprised at how much was skimmed over re: other important characters (Todoroki, Aizawa, Dabi, etc.).
But it it was burnout, I get it. Having written a fic that took two and a half years of monthly updates, I get it. I, too, received feedback calling part of my ending rushed, and I agreed. I knew it was rushed! I would get to certain points in the chapter and realize that the paragraph I was working on could be its own chapter. But I was just ready to be finished writing it (I love the story to this day, don't get me wrong), I didn't want to expand it anymore. So, I can't imagine what I would feel like after 10 years. So, I can't be that angry. In some ways, the loose ends leave a lot for the fandom to work with, and I know it'll inspire many amazing works.
So yeah, I thought the ending had its strong points and its weak points. But I appreciate some of the choices Hori made. I hope he can get his rest now lol.

On the whole neighbours thing. We have a lot f neighbours, and even better l, there are categories in the continent, north, west, south, etc. (Africa and for context, I am Egyptian). You can never and I mean NEVERRR see me or anyone I know root for any other North African country, hell even our matches against any other North African country, is very stressful and sometimes even on the verge of playing mind games away from football. So I get you 1000000%
Also, I got to disagree, England are the number 1 national team I am hate watching in the Euros (especially with their “it’s coming hime” nagging since the 60s). They are so incredibly cocky it’s insane, especially with how easy and how close they were going to concede to Serbia yesterday.
As fir France, I agree on the Mbappe part, especially because he takes the spotlight from the real hero who doesn’t get enough credit for what he does, and he was the player if the tournament for 16, 18 and 22. And by that person I mean Griezmann (the man is so good and such a complete player, idk why he doesn’t get credit. Also queue me being biased since he’s the reason I follow football a lot and root for Atleti)
I'm glad to know it's not just me that will not be supporting my neighbours in sporting competitions!
To be fair, I think the whole "It's coming home" for every tournament has become more of a joke than anything else, given how they haven't won since 1966. And honestly, every country goes into, or at least should go into, international competitions cocky as hell because if they weren't cocky, they wouldn't have qualified in the first place. If you don't go into a tournament like this thinking you can win the whole thing, what's the point of even playing?
England didn't concede against Serbia, though. I've talked about this before, and almost scoring and almost winning means absolutely nothing in football. It doesn't matter how you win a game, as long as you're the team that comes out of a game having scored the most goals. You don't have to like it, but it's the reality of the sport nevertheless. France almost conceded against Austria as well, but in the end, they didn't and ended up winning the game. And as much as I would have liked for them to lose or at least draw, they didn't.
You, and everyone else, hating England is of course completely fine! I hate France the same way you guys hate England, and given how nobody can ever convince me to change my mind about that, I won't waste my energy trying to convince anyone else to change their minds about England or other teams, because hating other teams is part of the sport! Especially given how, as long as the many teams I prefer over England are still in the competition, I honestly don't care if England make it past the group stage or not. Like I've said before, they're not even in my top 5, or in my top 10. So a lot of teams will have to get knocked out for me to start hoping England will win. And even if it gets to that point (which I really fucking hope doesn't happen), I won't be rooting for the entire team. God knows England has quite a few players I absolutely loathe and I want to see those players crash and burn in every way possible. But there are also players I genuinely love (Trent Alexander Arnold, Joe Gomez) and players I like (Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice). So should it get to a point where England is the only team I can support, for example, if they were to meet France in the final, then yeah, let's fucking go, England!
I'm not a huge fan of Griezmann either, but I much prefer him to Mbappé and he is a far more complete player. But you can't tell me you're surprised he doesn't get the credit he deserves because players like him never do. Strikers who score lots of goals will always get the credit, and it doesn't matter how much or how little they contribute elsewhere, or how dependent they might be on another player setting them up for goals and how they become invisible if that player isn't out there doing all the work for them, because the goals are all that matter. This has always been the case and will always continue to be the case in football.

hey girl i saw your friends of friends post - do you think there's a chance maybe they're just being supportive of Palestine performatively now that everyone is on their ass about not speaking out sooner? i know you said 'they're on 5sos time' but isnt that kind of just excusing their poor effort up until now? it's taken so long for them to do anything supportive, Palestine's literally almost gone
:,(
love u just wanted to see your perspective!
hey anon! thanks for this lovely ask. i can't guess what's in their heads and i'm hesitant to either 1) assume the worst when there can be a million reasons someone doesn't get to something straight away, and I don't usually think well thought-through activism comes out best when it's immediately reactive, or 2) say that there's no possible way this is the case when we don't have evidence for that either. it could be the case!
however from what I've seen the kinds of things people have been on their asses about recently have been other things--like crushing watermelons or cancelling sierra or crystal or 'where is calum is he okay' or critiquing having any association with all time low or being mean about other things i don't really want to bring up on here. Like I guess that might've been there but I've honestly not seen a lot of it; I've been here for about a year now and the 5sos fandom still baffles me--like I realise it's probably just a small minority who are mean and kinda petty, but honestly I've not seen a heap of organised activism within the fandom and it has disappointed me a little--like yeah from their perspective they might be reading the comments on it and feeling the pressure from those, but honestly it's been so mixed up with stuff i can't imagine they want to read that I'm not sure that's the message the fandom is sending at all. I hope for the fandom's sake I'm wrong and it's just the negativity bias speaking.
I do also want to gently possibly push back on the idea that they haven't done anything supportive until now; yes they didn't involve friends of friends (i'm not sure why) or really outright say it (which I've got more opinions on, a mix of positive and negative in terms of why i think they chose to do it that way) but they did release an entire tour movie on youtube for us for free, and tell us to donate to help (in ashton's words) 'the children in gaza' with links in the caption--it's a more aussie style of activism for sure when it's less putting yourself on a platform (even if you already have it) to speak about something to try and get people to act, and more use the resources you have to make a practical difference, without being demanding of people or stressing them out with urgency. to me that was something that meant more than performative statements, but not everyone in the fandom agrees on that. all i'll say to it is 1) it was out of the blue and felt like they had kinda just discussed it and been like 'yeah we need to' the minute the tour movie was ready 2) it was back in december and 3) i think they underestimated how broke their fans are and also overestimated how many people would see the 'humanitarian aid' links below a video in the christmas break. i've rattled on about it, i'll always defend that particular action but everyone knows that, the decision to focus on the children and the downstream aid rather than the genocide itself was an interesting one (bound to appeal to the skeptics and more practical but in some ways a copout), but i'm also putting it here because it surprises me how many fans genuinely have no idea all of this happened because literally no one talked about it. I don't know if it's because we have an idea as a society how activism should be like or people genuinely don't know how to address more serious topics (again, no one seems to be talking about the friends of friends thing they're kicking off now either). brandy's been sharing information etc on palestine and evidence of the genocide since october, and michael wore that jumper thing that I forget the name of in what might have been cultural solidarity or a coincidence back on october 13th i think. again, it's not the same. brandy isn't actually in 5sos. decide what to make of these things for yourself.
i'll also add that in general from what i've seen, 5sos are usually not super swayed by fan pressure and more likely to get pissed off by it and become more unhinged as a result or turn it into a joke later (like with the soon saga). not to say that they don't feel it, I think they do, but are more determined to not let it take away from their authenticity than be led by it iykwim? having said that this is something i relate to a lot due to my neurodivergence so i could be very biased on this. I could be projecting. so i'm not sure!! i'm not sure what goes on in their heads. i'm not sure why this didn't come sooner, we can probably all agree it should've. but i do also want to say that i know it's not ideal but sometimes doing a good thing for less than pure reasons is still a good thing. it's just the timing that's obviously the pressing factor here, people are dying, and it's kinda insensitive to be talking about how disabling things like executive function and anxiety can be in activism--but this is another topic and aspect of it I think that not mentioning can sometimes cause an excess of blame to be placed on people who are doing good things that aren't good enough to fix what bad people are doing, rather than the bad people themselves. I know it's not that simple, I know there are systemic parts of complicity we can't really wash our hands of that easily but my point is things like neurodivergence and anxiety are by definition disabling and activism is not a sphere they don't touch. and i can't go and list headcanoned diagnoses for a band I listen to but I also can't in good conscience ignore that this could likely be a factor.
overall i feel like this is a mess of a post because i don't really know yet where the line is between holding people accountable (what even is enough in activism?) and letting them process the trauma we're watching unfold and turn that into action at their own pace. but i do want to say thank you so so much for engaging with what's been a topic that I don't think we're talking about enough but i do care about too. and if you've read this far down such a long post thank you as well, i really appreciate it!

This is very self indulgent, and I would like to share my fanfics. Yes. There is a part two, I'll see when I'll post that in my scheduled thingys <3 (this was made like two weeks ago)
I like you. have a byortis fan-fic
Dance with me!
Byron x Mortis
(Note: The most intimate they get are neck kisses, little bit of making out, and cuddles, also there is some swearing)
"Huh, you've changed things up" Byron looked around the room, the furniture was rearranged and the cobwebs were gone.
"I just thought I'd spruce things up for your next visit, dear." Mortis guided Byron towards two chairs sat across from each other, with a table in between that had some wine with glasses.
In the corner of the room there was a table that contained a record player on it, right next to it was a bookshelf, with what seemed to be spell books.
Byron sat down across from Mortis. Scanning around the room. Spotting new objects, recognizing old ones.. why'd he have this pit in his stomach..?
"How has work been?" Mortis knew Byron wasn't one for small-talk, but he was genuinely curious, not only that, but Byron seemed anxious. He was just trying to find a way to ease him.
"Ah..well, some of the guests have been less than..corporative."
"What do you mean?"
"They've just been a bit more.. untrusting lately." Byron sounded tired and frustrated, but can you really expect the guests to trust a snake-oil salesman?
"Can you really blame them? The park as a whole isn't very.. up to code." Mortis paused for a moment. "And- after all, you are a bit of a con man."
"A BIT?!" Byron chimed in, Mortis thought he had upset him-"DON'T TAKE CREDIT AWAY FROM ME!" He was smiling, Mortis felt glad he wasn't upset.
"I'm not my dear," Mortis smiled. It had been a while since they were able to talk like this. "I just didn't expect you to take such..pride, in it"
"Might as well embrace it, I suppose." Byron looked up at Mortis, it seemed like he wanted him to say something, something in the back of his mind?- "Erm, how has your side of the park been?" "Any trouble with Willow?"
Mortis shifted in his chair a bit, "No, dear. She took it surprisingly well, I'm glad she wasn't too disappointed." "Oh, have you heard about the enchanted woods recently?'
Byron was confused, what about the woods? Wasn't that just an empty part of the park they would go to when they were young? "No, I haven't, I've been too busy I guess,"
"Do you remember that gardener who disappeared a while back?"
"Ah, don't tell me he died-"
"NO! no, no. He was found in those woods, he's doing.. alright I suppose, but those spores from the mushrooms messed with his head. Not only that but the enchanted spells on it didn't help his sanity."
"Oh, I guess that means we shouldn't go back?" Byron seemed disappointed, but also a little surprised. Not every day you hear that someone was corrupted by a mushroom.
"..Did you have plans to?" Why would he want to go back? He never liked it there when they were kids, Byron always fell in the creek. Mainly because Mortis pushed him in each and every time they went there.
"Ah- uh- no. I was.. Just thinking."
Did he have plans to go there? Why?
"..Uhm, would you like me to change the subject?" Was he okay? Was he thinking of doing anything harmful to himself? He did seem to feel down lately-
"I just wanted to go there..with you. Like when we were little, and you'd push me in the fucking creek."
"I said I was sorry! You-!"
"Uh-huh, suuuuureee. Each time we went there you pushed me in! You know what I had to do in order to avoid the wrath of my father???"
"YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME, YOU PETTY BITCH!"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP!"
"..."
"Pft"
"Hahahah!"
"Hah, sorry." What a dumb time. Mortis could only think fondly of it though.
"It's alright, I had fun there. I know we both did."
Mortis poured some of the wine on the table into two cups, and passed one to Byron. They drank together, and that pit in Byron's stomach was slowly disappearing.
"Oh, on the topic of the past," Mortis walked over to the corner of the room with the record player.
"Did you find a nice song left behind by your parents?"
"Nope, even better. Just give me a moment to put it on."
The music started up slowly, why did it sound so familiar-
"Do you remember that song you used to listen to before Edgar and Colette were born?"
"Yes, it was my favorite song. How did you find it-?"
"I found some old copies of that disc. I thought it would be perfect for the next time you visited." Mortis grinned and walked towards the chair Byron was sitting in and leaned on it. Eyeing him, he then moved toward the front of the chair.
"What-?"
"Dance with me!" Mortis pulled Byron up from the chair, holding one of his hands with his own, and placing the other on Byron's hip.
"No, I.. uhm" He blushed a bit.
"You always used to dance to this song! It made you so happy." Mortis wrapped both of his arms around Byron, pulling him in. Close.
"It's just been a while since I've heard this song. Let alone danced." He was a little embarrassed, good thing they were alone for the most part..
"Remember I didn't even know how to? I still don't-"
"Then you can just follow my lead once again."
Hah, how persistent. "You're not giving me much of a choice are you?" Byron smiled, wrapping his own arms around Mortis.
"Not until I see how you used to smile~" Mortis spun around the room with Byron in his grasp for what seemed like an eternity, but they both couldn't stop smiling. Byron stumbled a bit, but Mortis kept catching him. After a few minutes of back and forth spins, Mortis leaned in.
Byron's face kept progressively getting redder, and hotter. Mortis leaning in didn't make it stop.
"I remember how much you laughed and smiled when I danced with you."
"Yes, I was uh, flustered." As much as he'd hate to admit it, it was true. As he spun with Mortis, he was completely lost in the moment. He couldn't stop smiling.
"Once you were the one who had to persuade me to dance."
"Only because I didn't know how! I needed you in order to dance in the first place!"
"Admit it, you enjoyed it as much as I did." Mortis pushed Byron's face up, softly pulling in, touching his lips.
"I-" Interrupted by something soft, unexpected, but lovely.
Mortis kissed him. Interrupting what little Byron had to argue. Byron felt warm and fuzzy. Instead of that pit in his stomach, he had butterflies. Mortis guided him to the chair he was originally sitting in. Gently holding him, expecting him to sit next to him..Byron was sitting on his lap, still shocked and flustered.
Mmmhmm..
"Have you 'regained consciousness' yet?" Mortis poked Byron on the cheek, expecting more of a reaction, but only getting Byron to playfully push his hand away.
"You're a jerk you know…" Byron's face was beet red, he leaned on Mortis, and was pulled in closer.
"I hate you"
"And here you are sitting on my lap? I never asked you to, dear." It was true, Mortis' grasp on Byron's waist had eased. Byron leaned in even more, waiting for another kiss.
"Jerk."
Mortis responded,
"Bitch"
"Twink!" Byron replied,
"Dumbass" Mortis smiled after saying that. Teasing him, and poking him quickly on the nose.
"...can you kiss me again?.." Their foreheads were touching, Byron's hands were on Mortis' face.
Mortis' lips touched Byrons. Loving every second that Mortis embraced him.
"..Mm....what a blushing mess you are Ron,"
"Look in a mirror dummy" Byron kissed Mortis again, but Mortis made his way into kissing Byron's neck.
The repetitive pecking and biting was almost too much to handle for Byron.
"S-stop! PffftHahah!! s-stop it!" Mortis slowed the kissing on Byron's neck, it tickled him, "Mortimer!"
"Sorry dear. Your laugh and smile, it's just so cute." Mortis moved away from his neck, giving him some space to breathe. Mortis ran his hands through Byron's hair.
"Mortis?"
"Yes Rony?" Mortis said, then pulling away to get a better look at Byron.
"Can…may I stay the night with you?"
"Wha- you-you want to stay?" Mortis was shocked, but this was a pleasant surprise.
"The kids are over at a sleepover, and uhm… maybe we could have some sort of our own" Byron cuddled up on Mortis, grabbing his hand and placing it on his own, bringing it up to place on his face.
"Pretty childish way of phrasing it.. sorry."
"Don't apologize. I like the idea, we can spend more time with one another." Mortis pulled Byron in, surrounding both of them with warmth.
"In that case, may I stay?.."
"Of course you can, Byron."
"...can you kiss me once more?"
Mortis smiled, pulling Byron up towards him. "Of course my dearest snake."
