Manifesting Your Dream Job: The Ultimate Glow-Up Guide
Alright, bestie, let’s talk dream jobs. Manifestation isn’t just some woo-woo trend—it’s the ultimate life hack for leveling up. Whether you’re vibing with corporate baddie energy, chasing creative chaos, or dreaming of a remote gig on a tropical beach, you can manifest it all. Here’s the tea: it’s about aligning your mindset, energy, and hustle to make that dream job your reality.
So, grab your matcha, light a candle, and let’s get into it:
1. Get Crystal Clear on Your Dream Job
Manifesting without clarity? Big yikes. You need to know exactly what you’re calling in.
Visualize it: What’s your ideal day like? Are you slaying Zoom calls, designing killer content, or saving the planet one eco-project at a time?
Feel it: What’s the vibe? Is it creative, chill, or fast-paced?
Define it: Write it down, make a Pinterest board, or create a vision video—whatever gets your creativity flowing.
Pro tip: The universe can’t deliver if you’re sending mixed signals, so don’t just say, “I want a good job.” Babe, be specific.
2. Fix That Inner Dialogue
Let’s be real: self-doubt is the biggest buzzkill. If you’re out here thinking, “I could never get that job,” the universe is gonna be like, “Okay, sis.” Instead, flip the script.
Say affirmations like:
“I’m magnetic to opportunities.”
“I deserve a job that lights me up.”
“Everything I want is already on its way to me.”
Start hyping yourself up the way you do for your friends. Confidence is key, and when you believe you’re that girl, everyone else will, too.
3. Romanticize the Process
Life is a whole movie, and you’re the main character. Make manifesting your dream job part of your aesthetic.
Journal every morning about your dream career as if it’s already yours.
Curate playlists that make you feel like a boss (cue Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul”).
Meditate with your vision in mind, imagining every little detail of your glow-up.
Manifestation isn’t just about wanting—it’s about feeling. Channel those vibes and act like your dream job is already yours.
4. Hustle, But Make It Cute
Manifestation isn’t just wishful thinking; you gotta meet the universe halfway. Translation? Do the work.
Upgrade your skills: Take that online course, watch tutorials, or hit up webinars. Growth looks good on you.
Network like a pro: Slide into LinkedIn DMs, attend events, or casually bring up your goals at brunch. Your dream connection could be one convo away.
Put yourself out there: Update your resume, revamp your portfolio, or create a TikTok showcasing your talents. Be bold, babe.
The secret sauce is mixing effort with energy. Hustle, but keep it fun and aligned with your vibe.
5. Trust the Timing, Bestie
Here’s the hard part: letting go of control. I know, I know. But you’ve gotta trust the process. Sometimes things take a hot minute, and that’s okay.
Stay open to curveballs—what’s meant for you won’t miss you.
Pay attention to signs (angel numbers, random opportunities, or even your gut feelings).
Let go of stressing about the “how” and focus on your “why.”
Remember: divine timing > your timeline.
6. Practice Gratitude Like It’s a Full-Time Job
Gratitude is the cheat code to manifestation. Say “thank you” for the blessings you already have and the ones coming your way.
Start a gratitude journal. Write down 3 things every day that make you smile.
Celebrate every win, no matter how small (even getting a call back deserves a happy dance).
Be grateful for the journey, not just the destination.
When you’re vibing high on gratitude, the universe can’t help but send more good things your way.
7. Stay Open to Plot Twists
Sometimes the dream job you’re manifesting shows up looking a little different than expected. That’s not a bad thing—it’s a plot twist, and plot twists make the movie better.
Keep an open mind for new opportunities.
Check in with yourself regularly. Is your dream job still your dream, or has it evolved?
Trust that the universe knows what’s best, even if it surprises you.
Final Thoughts
Manifesting your dream job isn’t just about landing a paycheck—it’s about creating a life that feels as good as it looks. So stay aligned, keep glowing, and know that the universe is conspiring in your favor.
You’re not just chasing your dreams, babe—you’re catching them.
- luv from Elysia <3

Okkkk first of all hi!! I love your work and you're so incredibly talented! I'm new to writing and just posted my first fic this month so I was wondering if you had any writing tips! Or tips to help others find your work! I know it takes time I'm just wondering if there's anything I could be doing differently.
Thank you so much for taking the time to even read this if you have. I'll appreciate anything!!
Hi!! I have a lot of writing tips actually:)
Honestly when it comes to writing, there is no right process to it. I know some writers on here plan it all out but personally I don’t like to do too much planning, I just like to write down the main things and then loosely follow that. I like having a lot of freedom with my writing, but you have to just figure out what works for you.
I write both fics and small things, but when I write fics I don’t like to write the whole thing at one time. It just drains me, and I get like how artists get when they work on a painting too long and stare at it and just don’t know what to think. If you like to take the hours to write all at once you can do that, but it’s okay to write a few paragraphs one day and then just a few sentences the next.
Writer’s block is really difficult to work through, and sometimes you just don’t like what you are writing and get demotivated by it. That’s okay!! I like to get on pinterest and look at pretty pictures that make me feel things, listen to music on spotify, or even read other people’s fanfics that make me emotional to just get myself feeling like I wanna write again.
Editing is SUPER important for me. I know some people write rough drafts and then another draft but I write a “rough draft” and simply edit that one a ton until I’m happy with it. Grammar mistakes, anything I don’t like. You don’t have to do it all at once, either!!
You can also edit during the writing process.. if you don’t like editing and find it tedious, go through as you write and if you write a sentence and you’re like “this isn’t the best way I could write this”, highlight it in a pretty color and come back to it! I do this with words I find bland too, if I don’t like a word and I can’t think of a better one I just highlight it.
Speaking of synonyms / finding better words, I honestly think Word Hippo is a writer’s best friend. I know some writers think it’s a bad practice to just look up words and find synonyms, but you can do it in the right way. Your synonym has to fit the mood, so it can’t just be a word to make your writing look fancy. I also think this is a good practice if you want to extend your vocabulary.
If you struggle with dialogue like a lot of people do, don’t panic. Practice is so good for dialogue writing, even if you don’t post the practice. Also, sometimes it’s best to just go with the flow and not overthink your dialogue. Humans aren’t perfect so taking a while to create the best response isn’t natural. If you are worried it won’t be accurate to a character, what I like to do is imagine my character saying it in my head and if if sounds like something they’d say, I keep it. It’s okay to edit your dialogue but PLS don’t stress or worry about it being the best.
Don’t write for other people. This sounds cheesy but fanfiction is really a treasure for readers and it is a privilege. We don’t get paid to write, we get paid in compliments, likes, reblogs etc. This is okay, but I think a lot of writers get demotivated if they don’t hit a certain amount of notes or don’t get complimented. I understand this personally, I know how it feels to work on something for a while and it kind of flops, but that’s something you have to get used to as a writer. That’s why I say don’t write for others. Write what you like, because honestly it’ll make your writing authentic and genuine. Some of your fics will blow up and some will get not that much attention, that’s unfortunate but common.
As for how to get noticed, tags can help but often I find that making a post visually appealing is how to get people to want to reblog and comment on your work. I like using pretty dividers and pictures of my characters on fics. I try to make descriptions appealing, all of that stuff. People are there for your writing but you have to interest them first. Look at your own favorite fanfictions and how they format to get what I’m saying. And as someone who isn’t the best at decorating posts, simple can be just as good too.
Honestly, it can take a while to reach your audience. When I started, I was surprised because I was actually getting a decent amount of attention as I posted more fics but I still felt like I was just an account and I wasn’t really connecting with anyone. Interacting with people can help you get more attention and feel that connection with the whole fanfic writer thing. I love answering asks and I personally write requests, but not every writer does and that’s okay!! For me, I just think it helps me when I don’t know what to write and I like knowing I wrote something for a specific person. It’s kind of special to me.

As a fellow writer I'm SO envious of how quick you seem to post stuff? Like there's so much content on your blog and it's all great quality. You inspire and motivate me to be the same way 💙
hii angel, thank you sm for this message🤍 im very honoured to hear my posts inspire you! but i promise i’m not that fast, it’s just a lil illusion haha ^^ i actually have a problem: i have very much ideas, so i start fics, but im having trouble finishing, so my drafts are just chaos and a literal mess and sometimes i don’t even understand what i even wrote here like, what does that sentence even MEAN?
sorry for rambling and for the wall of text, i don’t even know why I wrote all this, but honestly, i just felt like talking. i love chatting with you guys sm, so thank you for giving me the excuse to overshare 😭
sooo for example, that Stan smut (praise that old man girl) was sitting in my drafts for what feels like forever, i just finally cleaned it up :) the Ford x reader x Bill latest smut came to life because of this charity stream Alex did, which got me so inspired
headcanons, though those are usually easier for me, because they’re basically my personal takes on how i think a character would act in certain situations, i just let myself have fun with it
i think the most important thing is finding what works for you. i spend half my day with my fav songs playing on loop and it helps me visualize scenes (im delusional) and create these fake cringe little scenarios in my head that i have to write down in my notes before i forget (learnt the hard way after i lost a really good fic idea once). also pinterest is my secret weapon, seeing all the gorgeous gravity falls art there (on tumblr too) or scrolling through my fav aesthetics (coquette, old money, vintage americana, dreamcore, etc) just does something to my brain… sometimes even a random aesthetic edit on tiktok (can be not fandom related) will make me feel like i need to write a whole story around it lmao
oh and movies/shows!! i watch so many and there’s always some dialogue or line that sticks with me and sparks something
but honestly, i think the biggest thing is just feeling connected to the fandom and characters. if i don’t care about them, it feels impossible, but when i do it just flows no matter how silly or small the idea seems at first
so yeah, don’t stress about speed or anything! just do what makes you happy and lets you feel that spark and the rest will come naturally i promise ! <3
#no wait really why i can't shut up#lmao im sorry but really thank you for the ask!!!! im glad you love my blog!!#answered asks

hey i hope youre doing well! would you ever be open to explaining your writing process? i was thinking ab getting back into writing and youve inspired me a ton 🩵 - 🦋
Well hey, I think that’s wonderful 🩷 I’d be happy to share.
1. Inspiration
Everything has to start somewhere. When something inspires me, I jot it down. My notes app is full of weird ideas lol, but it’s helpful to be able to write shit down so I don’t forget anything. I write down ideas, write down dialogue, stuff like that.
Example lol
Lots of things inspire me as a smut writer. Most of the time it’s my own brain, I’m always thinking about dirty disgusting things that I can make my characters do to each other. But I’m often inspired by porn gifs and horny/kinky text posts here on tumblr so I reblog those to a separate blog so I can just scroll on through whenever I need the inspo. It’s like horny Pinterest lol.
2. Play the movie
I spend time envisioning my fic. I make it into a movie, and I make sure I can see and hear everything from beginning to end. I think about details, I think about the way my characters feel. If I can see it clearly in my head, I can write it.
2.5. Talk it out
It’s kind of a floater step lol. Meaning, it’s a step that can happen at any and all points in my writing process. Or perhaps not at all!
I talk to a friend about my idea. Sometimes it’s just that I’m excited and I wanna talk about it, other times I’m looking for their input, sometimes I’m stuck and need help.
But talking about the idea helps me make it even more concrete in my head. Sort of realizes it, in a way. I think my work often benefits from having another pair of eyes or another brain take a look at it.
3. Outline
I’ve talked to a lot of other writers and not everyone does this, but that’s okay. It’s a very important step for me, though.
My outlines aren’t pretty lol. But they look like this:
It’s just my stream of consciousness. I don’t worry about making it pretty or anything like that. I’m just kinda…prewriting? Getting myself comfortable with the fic, writing everything down so I know how it’s going to go. It’s kind of a combination of the movie in my head + the fuck ass notes I’ve jotted down. But it helps, you know? It helps me feel like my idea is solid, gives me something visual to follow along with, which is important for me as a visual person. All of the ideas are there. And if I have more ideas, I can just toss ‘em in the outline too.
3.5. Moodboard
Another floater step. It can happen at any point in the writing process for me.
But making a mood board helps me get inspired. I’ll scroll Pinterest to find pictures that tie into my story, turn them into a pretty little collage thing. It’s another step of the visualization process.
4. Write
Plain and simple. I just write. As I’m writing, I usually find a sort of flow and I just follow that, lose myself in the story.
Sometimes I write in silence, sometimes I listen to music. I have a couple of playlists on Spotify I really like for writing. A lot of the time, I have YouTube on in the background. And I just write, beginning to end, sometimes bouncing around the doc to flesh out certain parts, add notes here and there. It’s a very….idk. Feel it out sorta process.
I think about these things as I write.
See - What do the characters see? What don’t they see? What do I see? What do I want my reader to see?
Hear - What makes noise here? Maxhinery, technology, nature. Who is making noise? What kind of noise?
Taste - Does something taste significant? A kiss? Someone’s skin? Weird taste in the mouth, the air? Does it taste sweet, salty?
Smell - What does the room smell like? What does a character smell like? Perfume, shampoo, sweat, etc.
Feel physically - Where are character’s hands? What physical sensation do they feel? What does their environment feel like? Temperature, is something warm or cold?
Feel inside - Feelings. How characters feel a situation differently. Nervous, dizzy, delirious, happy, etc. What are their thoughts?
Mannerisms - Are they making faces? Pacing? Itching, squirming, showing desire? How do they walk? How do they carry themself?
5. Edit
Once my story is written, I go back through and edit things. I add on, I take away. Stuff like that. Depending on the story and how writing it went, I either do a lot of editing or only a little. Another thing I just feel out.
I’m a firm believer that Times New Roman is the only acceptable font to write in. But this weird thing happens when I’ve been working on a story for a while, where my eyes don’t catch mistakes and I feel like I’m looking at what I think I’m seeing rather than what I’m actually seeing. So I change the font to something new, and it’s kinda like looking at it with a fresh pair of eyes.
I will also have a trusted friend edit. They’ll offer feedback, they offer compliments, reactions, questions, suggestions. We are very up front with each other with expectations. Before editing/betaing, they’ll ask me if I’m looking for constructive criticism or just support + fixing clerical errors. I’ll say “I need you to be gentle with this one” and I can count on them to be gentle. Or I’ll say “I don’t feel confident in this, and I think I need some direction” and they’ll offer suggestions. Or “right now I just need some compliments” lol and they’ll compliment my work and help me feel confident in it.
And that’s my process! I hope this helped 🩵 I think it’s really important to keep reading. Reading helps us write better, helps us better understand what we like and don’t like to write/read.

How do you manage to write smut that's like, actually arousing? What's the secret?
Well, first of all thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it, I really am. Happy to hear from you here as well 💜
Also, I'll let you in on my secret — I can't stand almost anything I write after it's posted. I see nothing but the flaws, grammatical choices, and technical foibles. This extends triple, quadruple, to smut. So if you're feeling the same kinda way, that your writing feels somehow off, then just know you're not alone.
I could give some pointers, but I don't really know how much benefit anyone will get hearing these from me of all people. But in my opinion it's a lot of the non-smut aspects that highlight the smut and make it shine. So here ya go.
Keep it in-character. I'm not out here talking as an authority on anyone's characterization, nor am I saying I'm some master of it and there are plenty of people out there with differing opinions, so take this with a colossal mountain of salt. But you should focus on making the voices, internal thoughts, and prose in keeping with the POV character. This is something called "POV control" and it's a very useful skill. Be able to flow in and out of a character's POV as the need arises. How Shadowheart interacts with sex is very different from Karlach is different from Orin, for example.
Strong focus on dialogue. This is a sorta addendum to the first point. Characters shouldn't suddenly turn silent when they're having sex. That is, unless that's the point of the story! They should also be speaking in-character even (or especially) during sex. Also, "porn dialogue" is something that gets brought up a lot in writing, and I think we all know it when we read it. That being said, people in the real world do say things during sex that, out of context, are hilarious. So it's a balancing act.
Fitting descriptions. This is actually one of the more important ones! If a scene is very romantic and meant to be light and fluffy, maybe avoid words for genitals altogether and focus entirely on simple visual aesthetics (how moonlight plays on a body, to give an example). If it's meant to be rough and focused on bodies or the mechanics of the scene, ham it up on those words. This also isn't a binary. Things flow back and forth all the time.
Firm language. I don't mean, like, power dynamics "firm." I'm talking about a willingness to use the words that fit the descriptions and sticking to it. Some people despise certain words, but other people will find the alternatives hilarious and completely tone-breaking. Find the words you like and stick to them; consistency gives your voice strength.
Don't try to appease everybody. You just can't. You have to write what you personally enjoy reading/writing/doing/thinking about, and go with it. If you try to cater to everyone's whims with any of the above, you'll wind up with a beige platter of nothingness. That doesn't mean you can't explore other tones or flavors, but don't try to do too much in one story.
Focus on emotions. Emotions could mean anything from love to lust to anxiety to fear to uncertainty and so on and so forth. My strategy is to center a fic on a theme/emotion that resonates with the characters involved and then I explore the smut around that central point. Revisit the idea between the action. Show how the characters' feelings around the theme change or how they're reaffirmed.
#hey you can ask me things!#random rambling about writing#i just write a lot i'm not the queen of anything (re: an anon that I fear answering calling me the queen of shadowheart smut)#everyone's voice will be different#so just remember this is My Style and not a Universal Constant#that bit in the “keep it in-character” bullet point is not a call for comments on my characterization#it's just a note on what I've noticed and the people I've spoken to OUTSIDE OF this very curated space#a space that is obviously much more likely to enjoy my characterization#so I'm also not saying I don't appreciate folks' comments on the matter! I love hearing that y'all enjoy my characterizations 💜#I had some more Tips 'n' Tricks but they wound up being personal quirks more than anything else tbh

I watched Alien: Romulus and here's what I thought!
As always friends Spoilers under the cut!...👽
Gosh first can I apologize for not being as active recently? I've seen this movie 3 times and am just now getting to writing my review! Might as well torch me now! haha. Seriously though I'd like to stay active on this blog it's just hard to find stuff to talk about sometimes when I come away from these movies. I'd like to start this off by saying this is going to be a pretty glowing review. If you haven't seen Romulus, or any of the alien movies...What the hell are you doing here??? Get out! Go see it! If for some reason you cant get out and go see it please spare yourself spoilers until you can find it on streaming! This franchise from what i've seen so far is one of my favorites. If you love sci-fi, body horror, bad ass female leads, or slimy slithering creatures in general you should really give this one a chance.
I feel like a lot of people wanna talk about this so lets get it out of the way. Rook. The artificial person we meet when things start heating up. Obviously he is a CGI rendition of Ash's actor from the first movie Ian Holm. You may be screaming at me right now about ethics. How this took a job from an actor. How technology is bad because it's going to take work from actors. I hear you. I was on the fence about this too. In truth AI replacing human workers is a topic near and dear to my heart because it's something that worries me as an artist myself. However, Reading about how Alvarez got permission from Holm's widow. How Holm felt almost blacklisted from hollywood after so many years in the sci-fi and fantasy genres. It made my opinion of this soften. If that makes you disregard my review or even me as a person I understand. I'm happy I was able to give you my thoughts and that you gave me your time. Now, The CGI of Holm's face is....not the best? His eyes and mouth move strangely if you pay too close of attention however it was something I could easily ignore as the movie progressed. Overall however with the other effects I think this movie did very well! I loved the way the facehuggers looked and moved and we even got to see up close the egg laying...tube...thing? Forgive me I'm not well versed in facehugger anatomy. The chest burster actually having to work to burrow it's way out and the xenomorph's acid just all of it felt really great! I only very recently watched the second alien movie and I intend to watch the rest of the alien sequels in the near future so don't be upset with me! However it seems like if you've only seen the first two this one will make plenty sense. I've seen people complain about the pacing being really slow and the only thing I really have to say to that is...The first two movies, at least to me, felt equally as "slow." However I wouldn't necessarily say this is a slow movie! It kept me interested each step of the way. Usually I hate watching something that feels like it's dragging it's feet so I feel like if the movie were truly a drag someone with my attention span would have noticed. On the subject of noticing things this movie has a TON of fan service and nostalgia. There's quotes from the previous films, Visual references, and even a nod to the video game Isolation! Some people really lay on a lot of flack for that kind of thing but it's been 7 years since the last alien movie so it's kind of something I expected if that makes sense? Also If it's something I love, I'm usually a sucker for fan service! Yeah some of the quotes felt kinda off in the dialogue (Personally when Andy says he prefers the term artificial person, That felt like an off moment to me? I could be nit picking but it just felt like it didn't flow with the previous dialogue.) But over all I liked easter egg hunting on my second and third watch. In terms of characters there were some misses like Navarro where I really wanted to learn more about her but we don't really get the chance. We see and learn a lot about Andy and Raine's relationship as siblings but its hard to tell what the other's relationships are to each other until they outright say or are on their deathbeds.
Overall I liked the effects, the action, the pacing and the characters. It did fall flat in some spaces but honestly I think it's one of my favorite movies of the year next to Immaculate. 4.5/5 Facehuggers!

Update Time, Update Time
Welcome back, everyone. Hope you all had a very happy New Years! I come bearing a late present for you all: A Versotale update!
Game Progress
As I anticipated, I needed to take a break around the middle of November so I could focus on schoolwork. Now that we've been on break for a little while again and will continue to be for the better part of January, I've already gotten a sizable chunk of stuff done. Still not as much as I would've LIKED to have completed - There are still like only three fully-completed rooms at the moment, and even then they have a ton of WIP assets and first-pass dialogue and all - but, that is the way of coding a game solo, mostly from scratch, and with the occasional glances at Undertale's code, isn't it?
Unfortunately, while I really want to share stuff with you guys, it's all in some way a spoiler that I don't want to spoil for the people who'd rather experience everything fresh for themselves.
...
So, if you DO wanna experience everything fresh for yourself, feel free to bow out of this post here. If you're sticking around, enjoy some mild spoiler-y content, some character designs, and some fun vague allusions to things I still really wanna talk about! I need to give you guys SOMETHING after this long wait, right?
Game Progress: Slightly Spoiler-y Edition
The OPENING CUTSCENE you saw a while back has been tweaked slightly to make Hercine more likable, and so the dialogue can flow a bit more naturally.
Two new cutscenes have been added to the beginning, albeit with some rough visuals. These three all flow into each other, and if you're speaking through each line of dialogue, they only take up about six minutes total. Still, it is a TAD bit too long for my liking without any gameplay behind it, so there's a chance I might cut a cutscene or switch the order of things around so there's a brief gameplay section before the last one. Who knows.
Undyne has been redesigned. Undyne now sports some less bulky armor that combines aspects of her canon casual and armored forms. If she's gonna be there the entire game, she may as well have a visually-interesting design rather than the blob of bluish-grey her armor used to be. I'm sure some people will consider this a downgrade, which is always the risk you run when you redesign a character you've already shown off... but I personally just can't stand working with that old design any longer. The colors barely pop, it looks messy, the armor's boring and flat-colored and almost even blends into her scales, etc.
You didn't get to see the outdated Frisk design I had for this iteration of the project, and I'm glad you didn't, because upon writing more of their scenes and reconfiguring their personality, I HAD to redesign them again. I don't anticipate this one changing ANY time soon, but, as with Undyne, no promises.
Next up, some important human characters in the first area that AREN'T Frisk! You'll meet them later on, and I really hope you all end up liking them and the story behind them! In the meantime, here, have their designs. Again, they might change, but I'm comfortable with these for now.
That's all I feel comfortable showing off for the first area at the moment! I'm hoping to record everything up until the first save point and post it on YouTube at some point before the end of January (Again, as I must reiterate, in its very unfinished form), but no promises!
While that's all for the first area, I have been poking around with redesigning some of the later characters you guys have not even seen yet. Particularly, the primary antagonist of the new Cold West. I have to admit, I was a little worried that, if I didn't switch up his design, people would start comparing him to Clover since Undertale Yellow is still fresh in a lot of our memories right now, but... I think you guys will really like "The long scarf of the law." He's a fun character.
Alright, that's all from me! I hope you guys enjoyed this brief little peek at some mild spoiler-y content! I hope to be back soon with some neat stuff for y'all to see in action!

no cuz seriously i actually love your writing so damn much. your visualization, your dialogue, your choice of words, the suspense and the drama and the stakes, the moments of relief, the way you depict shadowheart & tav’s love (as well as jen & serena’s), jen’s pain, and her growth… your writing is genuinely so beautiful and elegant.
to me, it seems - correct me if im wrong - you write with a certain flourish i think that resembles the sort of high fantasy style of english used in bg3, and it makes your fics feel like they just belong in this universe with these characters. i really appreciate that attention to detail, it adds so much!!
Holy moly, you are far too kind!!!! 😭💕 I genuinely don’t have words to express how grateful I am, this means SO MUCH to me!!!! I’m so flattered and just…so happy the stories have resonated with you in any way!
I think my usual style is a bit wordy (understatement of the century here lol). I like long and flowing sentences that help conjure imagery when I’m setting a scene. I rely heavily on sort of…omniscient narration to clue in the reader to characters’ inner feelings, and I try to mimic the game itself in that regard, but it often comes out wordy! So I try to make it flow naturally and use present tense to sort of…keep readers in the thick of it. I’m so happy to know you like the style, and that it blends in well with the BG3 setting!!! 😁
Dialogue is my favorite part to write, and luckily the game provides a good sense of how the characters would behave in plenty of situations. And I try to match the vocabulary to the setting. So Consonance might get more colloquialisms in the dialogue and sometimes the narration. If I’m writing Jen, I’ll try to imagine a line exactly how Shadowheart would say it in a canon context and then sort of modernize the vocabulary.
Anyway, just…thank you again! 🥹 to know you enjoy my style means the absolute world! I’ve always been afraid to pursue my original works as well and incredibly kind messages like these are really so encouraging! ❤️

just played thru Goodbye Volcano High finally, to completion
here's me thoughts, under a spoiler block just like i did for after i beat Snoot Game
story flows nicely from start to finish, though i feel like a tiiiiny bit could have been trimmed cus it did feel a bit too long for playing through
affinity system is cool, feel like i hadn't seen people dig into that one as much as they should've. i was unable to get the Rosa gender reveal sequence cus i didnt max out her stuffs BUT they still throw in moments prior that telegraph it very much so so that's still something!
gorgeous backgrounds, absolutely zero complaints about any of them. while the characters animations can be a tad bit stiff at times, i feel like i can still most of the time realistically imagine them within the scenes properly
i understand you had to have 3 L&L segments for it to make sense as a DnD sessions sort of thing but,, i didnt like the segments in general. i feel like you could have still explored Reed's character without dedicating far too much time to these
music for the rhythm game segments is definitely NOT my personal taste, so i cant rlly say much about the content that wouldn't be heavily biased. i feel like also the controls were a bit too complicated, especially on keyboard. perhaps it couldve been easier to play on a controller but like,, visually there's still way way way too much to keep track of so it gets overwhelming at times. also very very hard to focus on the scenes going on while trying to play the rhythm segments, and i feel like that hurts the final one with the montage
Naomi and Fang is a match made in Heaven, what else is to say? jumps the gun a wee bit but idk i kind of like that shit and i do that for me own characters at time. wishing those two the best in dino heaven
was not expecting Fang to be so selfish throughout the entire game, it's genuinely a bit jarring at times. the way it's patched up in the end feels a bit too rushed, but then again i said the game felt a bit too long so no idea what the solution would be
Swamp Babies i wish u got more screentime, but i digress. Curtis having no voice let alone dialogue was a bummer
i hope they keep patching it cus i did get softlocked multiple times and there were many times where backgrounds failed to load in for a bit during many scenes ;w;
fave characters from this iteration gotta be Stella, Sage and Reed. funnily enough, two of their iterations in Snoot Game are also a delight! sad to see Sage didnt make the latter cut aside from positive text messagez
the logo and poster design stuff paired with the picture day sequence were pretty cool!
not a fan of the twitter stuff in-game just cus i loathe the real life equivalent, sorry ;w;
all in all now that i've done a full single run for both games (i am not replaying either, this is too much of a time commitment for a narrative-heavy experience), i think i can say i give Snoot Game a 9/10 rating and Goodbye Volcano High a 6/10
pleasantly happy with both, despite any complaints or criticisms! looking forward to drawing more fanart of both series too, as well as having a blast hanging out in discords with folks from either communities. met some good people in a cruel world

✨Writing Interview Tag Game✨
Thanks to @kalmiaphlox for the tag! (I'm sorry I've been so quiet lately. Best excuse I've got is 'life happened'... heh)
When did you start writing?
I started my writing journey way back in 1994. I was 12 years old. There was no Fanfiction.net, and certainly no AO3 or Wattpad. We had the good ol' "world wide web" and discussion boards, where there were FTP databases with root and sub folders, and all the fics were in .txt files. Read stories written by fans of my favorite TV show at the time, and thought I'd give it a shot. It was all downhill from there.
Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?
I honestly can't say that there are. I write what I like to read.
Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?
I don't think I've actively been compared to any one writer, nor do I necessarily write like any particular author. I read fantasy novels, for the most part, and if I were to try to emulate anyone (lately, anyway) it's Elaine Cunningham and her work for Forgotten Realms.
Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?
My computer is my space for everything, and I share a desk with my partner. We're both gamers with dual monitors. Occasionally, I'll sequester away in the bedroom with my laptop.
What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?
Daydreaming scenarios and writing back-and-forth dialogue for situations (that may or may not end up getting used at all). But that seems to get the flow going most of the time.
Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?
Recurring themes? Hmm. Well, I suppose I've written a lot about disability and how it affects the characters, in their lives and interactions with others. Not every story I've written has this theme, but it certainly counts as 'recurring' for many of my works. I can't say it surprises me at all, as I've had great interest in disabilities (respectfully) since I was very young. Not exclusively for the sake of writing angst, though there is some of that too. But mostly for exploring how people can adapt and grow in the most astounding ways, despite what society at large deems a "disadvantage".
What is your reason for writing?
To put it succinctly, I enjoy it. I like having the ability to paint worlds with words, to evoke emotions in written form, and describe action, excitement, and romance. I have stories in my head, and I want to share them. Writing them down is the most accessable way of doing this.
Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?
I adore any comments on my stories. The fact that someone takes the time to say even one word to me about my work is monumental. But of course, if I were being honest, the ones that really inspire me is when they engage with what I've written. When questions are asked, details pointed out, or even theories floated about what could possibly happen next... I live for those. They not only make me happy, but they make me want to deliver the goods, you know?
How do you want to be thought about by your readers?
I'm not sure I want to be dictating or hoping for anything in particular here. People will think what they will. I should hope that, if anything, anyone reading my work would appreciate my effort. I guess I just want to be thought of as a good writer, an entertaining writer. A nice person? A thoughtful person?
What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?
I had the benefit of starting very early in learning how to write, and I am by no means perfect at it. I'm always learning new skills, tricks and methods on how to present the story I want to tell. I have consumed a lot of media over my decades, particularly cinema. I think one of my strengths would be visualizing scenes of my story like a movie, with having a good balance of action, introspection, and dialogue. I had a mentor during my early years who was an English teacher, and learned the ins and outs of traditional creative writing.
How do you feel about your own writing?
My writing style has evolved over the years. My early attempts were, naturally, very juvenile, though I tackled themes that I was told were beyond my years. Writing adult male friendships, learning about the psychological impact of diability and how it affects those friendships and the character's personal life... these were not common themes for a thirteen year old to write about. But again, they were attempts.
These days, I have read many books and experienced enough life to be able to convey deeper, more nuanced interactions and situations. Gathering information, learning about fantasy settings, and having a better understanding of emotions have all helped me to get better. I like what I write, and I write what I like. I know I've improved a lot since thirty years ago, and I'm always looking to get better.
When you write, are you influenced by what others might enjoy reading, or do you write purely for yourself, or a mix of both?
It's only recently that I've catered a bit more to my audience in my work, though the idea starts with something purely for my own enjoyment and interest. That's how it begins. I have an idea for a story I think is interesting, write it, post it, and hope others like it too. For the most part, I try to keep the story as I envisioned it, but having the benefit of live interactions with readers has inspired me to insert little tidbits here and there that I felt would be enjoyed---as a nod to the reader, and because I found it fun to make it work within the context of the narrative. :)
And that's all she wrote! Maybe I have a couple friends who might be interested in joining in. @cassieuncaged @busy-baker @davenswitcher

16. What are your writing strengths?
i think i can do a dialogue quite good but it’s hard for me to get into a zone or scenario where it comes to that naturally, but whenever it does happen? i’m super happy and proud of the result (that’s why i like my hitmen jegulus microfic so much)
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
probably that i’m not really good at creating a storyline/plot djskks that’s something that does Not come easily to me and probably one of the only reasons i havent really finished any of my big fics or even their first chapters. If i have a plan/ a prompt or something in general i can orientate myself off of it flows super easily (all the microfics and Ant Pile) but coming up with something of my own is very hard and i often feel kinda bad about it too :,))
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
would love to, i have some smol things planned for mira mi amor that i will probably go and bother @appreciatedmoron bea about as well as my two irl bsfs since they’re quite good at spanish but besides that i’d only really trust myself with german since thats my first language

August Devlog: Re-Orienting Toward a Full Game
It's the end of the month - here is an update on the ongoing development to turn Amadeus from a demo into Episode 1 of a full 5-part game.
Before getting to the details, here are some important news items:
The linktree now (as of TODAY!) has a link to a community Discord server!
The server is currently quite small and has dedicated spaces for art sharing, in addition to regular updates on Amadeus. If you prefer more interactive communication feel free to join.
(There are also channels dedicated to speedrunning, as that is how the server was born, once upon a time... mute away as you like.)
I'm going to PAX West, and planning to attend both the adjacent Media Indie Exchange and the Seattle Indies Expo. See you there??
And now, for this month's updates!
TL;DR highlights:
Game Progress: Created new sprites/assets, plus a new dev tool to make testing the dialogue system much smoother
Next major benchmark: plan to release updated demo with revamped UI/controls this winter
Project Management: what I learned about making an updated Game Design Document that will keep me on track for the full Episode 1 release next summer. (Hint: if writing a narrative game, start with the narrative...)
Recreation: a list of media I consumed for fun that also helped inspire me and identify my own goals for this project.
Details below for those interested.
Game Progress: New Assets & Dev Tool for Sprites
I said I created new sprites and assets. Of note, a particular very important character now has a finalized design and a portrait. This character was mentioned often in the demo, but has yet to make an appearance...
That's right, it's time for the Solea Portrait Reveal!!!
I'm really happy with her design (including the full body portrait, which I'll save for later). I think it conveys a lot about her character. I want to give a HUGE thank-you to my girl Lecy for answering a ton of my questions about Black haircare while I worked on this design, because I wanted Solea to feel grounded and real, even though the world is fantasy and she's a witch. There reaches a point where drawing from my lived experience as A White Person has its limits, and talking to other people became very important to help me tell an authentic story.
Making this portrait also helped me begin to build and test a new dev tool, because I can now envision a conversation between Amadeus and Solea. Building dev tools is one of those things that I cannot overstate enough how important they are. This tool is going to help IMMENSELY with creating dialogue scenes, helping me choose just the right expression to match each dialogue line.
Using this tool, I can change the values for the left and right sprites and then type L/R to have the game live update to that sprite, so I can swap them around live without having to manually activate/de-activate the sprites. In visual novels, especially those without voice acting, the expression sprites are TREMENDOUSLY important in setting the tone of written dialogue. The same line can feel markedly different with a different expression. In addition, some of my sprites have animations, so being able to test how those animations flow between different sprites is really easy now. I built it to be relatively future-proof, so that if I add other functions (like shaking and sprite barks), with a few tweaks this will help me test those too.
Making this tool took me less than an hour, and is going to save orders of magnitude more time and effort in the long run when I'm writing scenes and matching dialogue to expressions.
Next Major Benchmark: New Demo This Winter
To avoid getting hopes up: my current plan for this is to have effectively the same demo in terms of narrative, but with improved mechanics that will be the norm for the full game. There is a lot more narrative that is going to be in the full Episode 1 release than there is in the demo, but it does not make sense to start building the scenes for the rest of the narrative until I go back and thoroughly fix/implement all of the gameplay changes I want for the complete game. My hope is that anyone playing it will feel that, even though the narrative is the same, the game itself will feel much more polished and cohesive. This demo will be my proof to myself, and to you, that the full game is coming, and it will feel good.
(Famous last words: "if I have time," I hope to add a little extra content too, to entice those of you who already played the demo. I just want to be clear that the focus will be fixing and adding mechanics, including a Settings menu and better controls, first and foremost.)
Do you have thoughts for what you would like to see added/improved for this demo? The askbox on the Amadeus Game tumblr blog, as well as the Discord server, are both great places to provide feedback if you'd like to see any changes implemented in the full game. Check the linktree for links to those resources. I do already have a to-do list, from playtester feedback as well as my own experience/preference; but I am always seeking additional feedback!
Project Management: Making a New GDD to Actually Ship The Full Game
Making a Game Design Document (GDD) in class for the prototype that would eventually become Amadeus was simultaneously the hardest and most important thing I ever did for it. I struggle with breaking down tasks, but it is specifically because I struggle with it that forcing myself to do it is invaluable. Once I broke down the task of "make an entire game prototype" into all of its discrete pieces, and organized them into a calendar of deadlines (complicated ones first!), I could visualize how much work it was and prioritize, downsize, and get to work.
It also really helps fight against the part of me that constantly wants to add new shiny things. "Oh it won't be that hard if I just add this here and that there" - this is the Devil speaking. Once I can see a massive list of Everything That Needs to Be Done from breaking it down, it becomes clear that I don't even have enough time for the current vision, let alone one with extra bells and whistles! And then the question becomes "how do I prioritize just the essentials, and set new expectations for something achievable?" Start there. Always start there.
Unfortunately, when it came time to do one of the tasks I set myself for this month ("update the GDD"), I realized that task in itself needed to be broken down. I have an old GDD for a demo that was about 5-10 minutes long , has working but janky mechanics, and a laundry list of "will get to this later" items. Transforming THAT into a GDD that would keep me on task to ship a complete Episode 1 is, let's face it, basically making a new one from scratch. The time I allotted to this task was not proportionate to how important and time-consuming it was going to be.
What I DID do, is sit down and make a plan to actually make this happen.
First of all, I need to make new paper prototypes, and get feedback on them. I am planning major enough changes to gameplay/UI that I need to prototype them on paper, see what makes the most sense, and use that to build the changes. I can't update the part of my document that talks about new mechanics to implement until I decide, concretely, what those mechanics should look like! I have some thumbnails I sketched already, which is a start. Next is to "build" and test them.
I also found that the biggest roadblock is that I had still not finalized the full narrative arc for Episode 1. I cannot make a list of needed assets until I have a total number of scenes/locations in mind, which I cannot have until I know exactly where Episode 1 begins, goes, and ends. I have a lot of overall ideas, and I know some basic major plot beats for each episode, but I was putting off more specific narrative work until later... because, well, it's hard work! And, like the GDD, the fact that it's hard means that is exactly why it needs to happen first. It's absolutely critical to the entire form of the game, and how I must direct my time and energy during development.
Now that I understand this - that I need to start over with paper prototypes, sit down and FULLY outline my Episode 1 narrative, and use that to create a new GDD that truly tracks every step between now and release - I have a game plan.
So, next month is going to be critical. This past month was a lot of me figuring things out and identifying what wasn't working. This doesn't really sound like an accomplishment, but it is one. Now, I know how to actually approach this, and I can get to work. I hope that, this same time next month, I'll be writing a devlog that inspires confidence that this game is really and truly going to launch. Because I'll have finished the hardest part of the whole process: planning it, breaking it down, and organizing it.
Recreation: Cool Media That Inspired Me This Month
Seriously, rest and recreation are so important! It's important to take breaks, it's important to have fun, and it's important to engage with other media when creating media yourself. This month was really full of inspiration for me. I....
Played The House in Fata Morgana, an absolutely incredible gothic horror visual novel. It was SO inspiring for me, in terms of mechanics, narrative, and aesthetics. In fact there were several ideas developed in this story that I had already planned on engaging with in Amadeus, so seeing another interpretation of those ideas was a fascinating reference. Unfortunately, as with most visual novels, I cannot elaborate further without spoiling the entirety of both narratives. You should play it though.
Watched a lot of werewolf movies. Even though Amadeus belongs more to the mystery and fantasy genres than the "werewolf" genre, the fact that the main character is a werewolf is a kind of extremely important driving force in the story. And I felt like I should do my due diligence and engage with a lot of werewolf stories before writing my own, because no one wants to be that guy who writes a story on very well-trodden ground and thinks they're doing it Special and like No One Else Ever Has. ...Also, full disclosure: I just wanted to watch a bunch of werewolf movies. So I checked out:
(Rewatch) American Werewolf in London
(Rewatch) Silver Bullet
(Rewatch) Bad Moon
(First Time) Ginger Snaps
(First Time) Wer
I filled up about 2 pages of scribbled notes on different ideas, topics, images, conflicts, and themes that I want to engage with from each of these. I found that some of them asked questions that I am also asking in Amadeus, and gave me inspiration for how I might answer them. Since I know that narrative is the first thing I need to iron out, having a few brainstorming sessions while watching werewolf movies helped me get a more concrete idea of what, specifically, I want to say and do in my narrative.
If you haven't seen any of the movies on that list, by the way, I very strongly recommend American Werewolf in London, Silver Bullet, and Ginger Snaps.
That's all for this month! There should be another devlog at the end of September - look forward to that one. In the meantime, you can always bookmark the Linktree and check back for new resources.

Happy WBW! How easy does setting description come to you? Do you have a hard time writing plumbing systems and garbage infrastructure, or do they flow out with the plot and dialogue?
--@oh-no-another-idea
so I think we lump setting creation and setting execution into one bundle a lot of the time, so I'm going to take this opportunity to separate them.
I do have a bit of a tricky time writing plumbing systems and garbage infrastructure, and city patrolmen routes and rules, and a basic economy and societal expectations for children based on class, and whether or not I have classes and if not, what might replace them since people tend to group themselves together in some form or another. I create and problem solve only as I encounter things, usually. when I think too far ahead and start creating things that have no place in the story yet, I wear them out and then they become useless. I did that with summon story and had to reel in the worldbuilding - the setting creation - so that I didn't lose track of the story. setting creation isn't my favorite thing (although it used to be, back when I sucked at character writing), so I try to do it as needed and come back to flesh it out later, when I know how I actually want to use it.
it's easier to let it come out as I'm writing a scene. I often have a few options of how I want to realize a circumstance, or a place, or a schedule for something, and as I'm writing the scene where it comes up, I test them out and keep the version that works the best (for now). I create more on the spot than I do in advance, but I also come back and rewrite a sentence or two here and there after I decide that no, actually, it's going to work like this instead.
setting execution, however, the actual writing and describing those systems and regulations and infrastructures, that is something I don't really struggle with. I've always been good at setting a scene, writing description that pull you into a place and a situation, and I am still good at it. I don't always bother with it in my first drafts - you probably noticed that I rarely mention anything about the setting in city story - but I do think about it. I visualize and plan for actually describing things later on.
thanks for asking, Primrose <3

Thoughts about Good Omens 2 Episode 5
Here we go. Spoilers under "Keep Reading" link.
Okay - now that the mini-sodes are out of the way - we move on with the main plot. I think this episode was my favorite so far (Or at least tied with the Job part in episode 2.) I thought the scenes in hell were so visually stunning. I loved the retro-yet-creepy-looking tech, the empty warehouse where Shax prepares her troops for battle (the empty spaced out chairs feel influenced by the pandemic).
Eric (the bunny-rabbit-looking demon) totally deserved what he got. If you've even been in a meeting or teaching a class and had that one person constantly interrupting you and disrupting your flow - you know just how Shax feels. I can also see why people are shipping Eric and Muriel despite the fact that they've never met - they both play similar functions - the timid voice of reason.
I have to rewatch Nina's confrontation with Crowley. What was it she said - something about other people relationships always feel simpler than our own? Feeds into my brand new headcannon that Aziraphale has actually been conducting the world's slowest seduction and Crowley remains oblivious.
I love it when Crowley gets all protective (apparently so does Aziraphale). His confrontation with Jim feels pivotal - first of all, he just spilled the beans on the body-swap, but also he seems to accept that Jim is not the Gabriel he knew. Crowley does also not have middle-of-the-road emotions. He went from "kill yourself" to "have a hot cocoa" in about 2 seconds.
I can't begin to describe how BADLY I WANT TO GO TO THAT PARTY in the bookshop! Oh man. I would give 20 years of my life to attend that party. Aziraphale is high as a kite here. I have a new headcannon - not only can Aziraphale sense love, it gives him a buzz. He can feel all of his neighbors love for each other, for the neighborhood, for their businesses and he is just riding that wave! I think he was a millisecond away from confessing his love for Crowley before the demon army interrupted.
Jon Hamm is having was too much fun playing Jim the assistant bookseller. One of my favorite moments was Jim bursting out of the bookshop in full Elton-John regalia "Here I am!"
I need to rewatch the scene where Crowley confronts the demon "legion". I didn't catch all the dialogue. Apparently demons are forbidden form directly harming humans but have some loophole(?). Also, I think Crowley totally bluffed them out by spouting some bogus regulations.
Awwww - Maggie stayed to help Aziraphale and Nina stayed with Maggie. So sweet.
Aziraphale: "I have a plan, but coming to my rescue makes him so happy." Fess up Aziraphale - have you been deliberately getting yourself into scrapes for 6000 years just to give Crowley a chance to rescue you? You naughty Angel!
What is Crowley's plan here? He actually seems to be improvising - he sees Muriel and gets her to "arrest" him- is he hoping to get heaven to help? Or is he hoping to get an army of angels chase him down and get in a battle with all the demons?
Guess I'll find out when I watch episode 6. I almost don't want to because then I won't have any more Good Omens to watch for a long time. :(

Hi Tay! 💕
1, 2, 5, and 31 for the writer asks, please! :)
Hi Sage!! I'll try to find some to ask you, but I see you've already gotten most of the questions!!
1) What inspired you to start writing fanfiction?
I've actually been reading fanfic since I was something like 12? I was reading stuff i shouldn't have way too early and was even jotting down little stories in a notebook that I hid under my mattress. I'm pretty sure the smut I hand wrote at 12 was EMBARRASSING. I basically did that same thing for Levi, after getting really inspired by all the other Levi writers on here (including you Sage), and showed it to one of my irl friends. (It was smut too lol) and she told me to post it.
2) How do you come up with your plot ideas?
Most of my ideas for the short little drabbles come to me in the shower and I frantically write down as much as I can remember after. Other than that, fanart I see on Twitter is a huge inspo. Not even exclusively Levi fanart. I guess i'm very visual, because music doesn't work for me but art does.
5) What techniques do you use to create believable dialogue?
To be honest, I think this is my weak point 😓. The dialogue takes me the longest portion of time and usually takes several sessions until i'm happy. There's a certain headspace I can get into where I can sort of 'sink' into the scene and fully picture it, but I haven't figured out how to force my brain there. Sometimes I talk to myself out loud to see if the flow feels right or if the tone makes sense. It also helps me to have something on in the background while i'm writing that contains a good back and forth. Like, I tend to watch Youtube videos with a group of people with really good chemistry or a podcast.
31) Do you prefer writing from a single characters perspective or switching between view points?
I've actually only ever written in one persons perspective!! I've wanted to switch it up, but i'm not sure how to make it work in a seem-less way. I might actually try it in the longer think i'm currently working on (that i'm keeping a mystery on purpose. If I talk about things I end up stressing to much about writing it 💀)
