#not to mention animal ag is COMPLETELY unnecessary

Just a quick question; does the batfamily like reader the same in their human form or just in the cat form?
Wonderful question, anon! I have mentioned it briefly in this ask before, but I’ll dive deeper into it for you.
All the boys harbour their own opinions regarding your two appearances.
To Dick, you remain his sweet and adorable little sibling, whether you're in your human form or your animal form. Your identity as his kitten stays constant, regardless of which body you inhabit.
For the eldest brother, your age, size, or form doesn't change his perception of you one bit. Regardless of the fact that you’re a grown ass adult, he'd still continue to baby talk and coo at you when you have a big sneeze or get food on your cheek. In his mind, you’re fundamentally a cat first and foremost, and your human qualities are secondary. He couldn’t care less about your human appearance, because he would always view you as his precious little kitten, his adorable and cherished younger sibling. Even when you're in human form, he’d still treat you as if you were a cat, completely disregarding your human aspect.
Bruce, however, has a vastly different opinion. In his eyes, you’re the perfect blend of both worlds. The feline body language and characteristics you exhibit are utterly endearing, no doubt, but your true essence rests in your human mind and soul, which is the fundamental part of you. He recognises the importance of both your animal and human forms, as they are both integral parts of who you really are. While your cat instincts may be captivating, it is your human mind that holds the most significance. He wouldn’t treat you like a mere pet, recognising the balance between your two forms. You were still his child, and that will always come first.
Ultimately, Bruce doesn't really care what body you take on, as long as you're spending time with him. When you're out in public, you're required to transform into your cat self, as to not cause any unnecessary suspicions or complications regarding your disappearance. But when you're both just chilling at home in the manor, he doesn't mind whether you're in one form or the other, as long as you're there with him. He won't push you to engage in conversations or force you to do anything you don't want to do, as long as you're just present by his side, he's content.
In stark contrast to the others, Jason has a strikingly distinct preference for your feline form, showing a notable lack of interest in you when you appear in human form. He tends to completely disregard your presence when you're in your human body, only offering you affection and attention exclusively when you're in your kitten body.
To Damian, your animal form holds a special place in his heart, a place he refuses to share with anyone else. It’s not that he dislikes your human form, far from it. But when he looks at you as an animal, all he can see is an innocent, untainted little creature that needs protecting. A creature that relies solely on him for safety and comfort. And that’s a feeling that he can’t help but relish in. Your cat form evokes a protective instinct in him that he rarely feels when you’re in your human form. But also, saying that, he does enjoy being able to talk to you, as you’re the only person that he trusts to never leave, to never feel disappointed. Because to you, he’s the only one on your side. He relishes in the fact that no matter which form your take on that you rely on him. That you need him.
Slightly out of sync with the others, Tim shows a marginal preference for your human form. He’s the only one who tends to pay more attention to you when you’re in your human body, but the margin is admittedly slim.
Tim enjoys being able to read you, relishing in his ability to decipher your emotions and engage in conversation with you when he needs a diversion from all the work. On that note, it's primarily about the control. He finds pleasure in being able to make you shift from one form to the other, keeping you drugged and pliant in his lap as a cat or asleep in human form on the couch next to him while he works.

Let's talk about Ruvik fanon and the amount of unnecessary hate Jiménez receives
Tw: poor english lmao
Something that I have seen too much during the five years I have been in this unfortunately dead fandom is that some people believe Ruvik became purely evil due to the incident he suffered. In reality, it is not at all like that. It generates a certain rejection in me that he was seen as a poor victim who only wanted to get his sister back.
It is essential to recognize that Ruvik possessed an exceptional mind from an early age, exhibiting traits of psychopathy due to his lack of empathy towards the animals he killed. His intelligence, along with his ability to understand and manipulate complex concepts, distinguished him from the rest, as well as isolated him. From a young age, his intellectual brilliance not only allowed him to excel in various fields of knowledge but also pushed him into a state of loneliness and emotional distancing.
This emotional distancing is a characteristic feature of psychopathy, a condition that often manifests in childhood and worsens over time. Throughout his childhood, Ruvik demonstrated a lack of empathy towards others, even his own family. His reactions to the suffering of others were cold and indifferent, indicating a significant emotional disconnection. This disturbing behavior became evident in his cruelty towards animals and his inability to relate emotionally to other human beings, showing an early inclination towards manipulation and control.
He was aware of his actions even though he was a child. He grew up in an environment of high social status and traditional morality, where values and standards of conduct were instilled. His sensitivity allowed him to discern between good and evil, understanding the ethical implications of his actions from an early age. Although he was just a child, his psychopathic traits and formidable intellect made him an individual dangerously obsessed with control and experimentation, foreshadowing what he would eventually become
All of these characteristics are evident prior to the fire. It should be mentioned that Ruvik's traumas acted as catalysts that exacerbated his internal psychopathic tendencies. His childhood manifested signs of a disturbed mind where traumatic events served to trigger his complete instability and even push him to his full limit.
Marcelo Jiménez
It's not his fault that Ruvik is so fucked up lol
I would like to introduce this character because, in addition to being important, many solidify the distorted fanon vision of Ruvik due to the impact of Jiménez's actions on him and why he ends up unfairly being one of the most hated characters in the game.
The main game presents Jiménez from a perspective that highlights the dire consequences of his experiments, leading to a negative and superficial perception of his character. However, when explored further in the DLC, a more complex and empathetic dimension of Jiménez, often overlooked, is revealed.
Jiménez is constantly blamed for Ruvik's death and the theft of his research, but it is crucial to analyze what is truly behind this. The dilemma Jiménez faced was complex. On the one hand, he felt loyalty and respect toward Ruvik, his colleague and friend. On the other hand, there was immense pressure from Mobius. The decision to steal Ruvik's research was not a simple betrayal but a desperate act to save his career and maintain access to the resources necessary to continue the research. Although morally questionable, this action is best understood in the context of constant coercion and threat.
Mobius's threats were clear: if Jiménez did not provide more information and progress on the stem project, he would be replaced. This threat was not trivial. The loss of his position at Beacon Psychiatric Hospital involved more than just dismissal; it meant the end of his career and the loss of access to resources essential for his research. Furthermore, these threats suggested a potential risk to his life, given Mobius's power to remove obstacles from his path.
It is obviously not justified that he stole Ruvik's research without permission, but he had an understandable reason.
Regarding the murder of Ruvik, it is essential to underline a very important point: Jiménez did not kill him; Mobius did. Jiménez only intervened when Ruvik had managed to make the stem system work solely with his brain waves, and was gradually withdrawing from the project to the point of almost never visiting the laboratory.
In entry #201, Jiménez expresses his deep fear of what Mobius could do to Ruvik. This entry reflects Jiménez’s fear of possible reprisals from Mobius and his concern about the situation, considering both the threats and Ruvik's refusal to participate in the laboratory. Technically, it was Jiménez's only option to force him (without knowing that Mobius intended to kill him).
Clear proof of the remorse Jiménez feels is found in entry #209, where, in addition to expressing disbelief at having been part of such an atrocity, he shows a visible decline in his way of recounting it. Jiménez demonstrates respect for Ruvik's work rather than mere greed, while Mobius pursued his own goals with ruthless determination, focusing primarily on large-scale control and manipulation. The stem project, in which Ruvik was deeply involved, had immense potential for mind control and the creation of alternate realities, something Mobius viewed as a tool to consolidate his power. The organization did not value Ruvik's scientific discoveries and advances for their intrinsic merit but solely for how they could be exploited for its own purposes.
It remains to be mentioned that Jiménez integrated Ruvik into Mobius because they had found out about his existence, he wanted to provide him with better facilities along with support to avoid his morbid inclinations (entry #120)
It's okay if you don't like the character, but I feel like most of the hate he gets is due to a lack of understanding.

Transformers: Mosaic - Fragments Iván Mas
wada sez: Yesterday, I shared a couple-dozen assorted previews for Mosaic strips which never saw completion. One artist, however, accounted for almost that many abortive strips all by himself! As I've mentioned in the past, Iván Mas was a prolific Mosaic contributor who often clashed with Mosaic leads Josh van Reyk and Shaun Knowler over their editorial policies. While sharing previews, he constantly expressed frustration over the months-long delay for comics being shared by the project. It's hard to say why most of these strips never saw the light of day, or how far along they were to completion: perhaps some simply slipped through the cracks! As Iván Mas is a true auteur, a real perfectionist, it wouldn't surprise me if he was simply unhappy with the end result for a few of these. I've done my best to translate relevant comments of his.
Untitled Animated Bulkhead comic [2007-09-20]
"May be a small teaser of an upcoming mosaic featuring the new TF Animated characters"
"Subtle Touch" (Death's Head) [2007-09-21, 2007-10-02]
"Light Awakening" (Optimus Prime) [2008-02-05]
"Versus" (Megatron & Optimus Prime) [2008-05-31]
"Iron" (Man of Iron) [2008-07-07]
Untitled Leozack comic [2008-08-10]
"Decepticons Power" (Overlord) [2008-10-09, 2008-10-09]
"Panel 1 of a Mosaic that I am making (another one) at the moment I have 12 on the computer that… have not been shown yet, I don't know if it is worth continuing making…. anyway I am making this one so that Vero, one of the colorists who has given us a hand on the mosaic theme can distract herself…. she expressed her desire to continue doing things and like her friend Rafa, she seems to have a lot of work… In any case, the drawing is not finished, some things need to be touched up… and above all, the background."
"A teaser of the mosaic that I suppose you will see some year in the next centuries….. I'm bored………. …………………………………. …………………………………."
"Duality" (Silverbolt) [2008-11-20]
"Eeeeh… well… a mosaic that I don't know if I'll end up doing, lately I've been quite busy so I've put the topic aside, however I have quite a few in the can… so… I don't think there will be much of a problem…"
Untitled Megatron comic [2009-01-14]
"Well… here's a discarded Megatron panel for a mosaic… it seemed unnecessary to the rhythm and inconsequential, besides the fact that I don't like the drawing too much. I guess because of all that, I didn't put any effort into it either…. It's out."
Untitled Kup comic [2009-01-18]
"Well, the title is quite self-explanatory, isn't it?…. a design for a mosaic that I hope I will be able to start preparing soon on Kup."
"New Ages" (Starscream) [2009-01-30]
"Well then… the truth is that I have quite a few mosaics scattered all over the place waiting to be translated or painted… it annoys me and disgusts me a little because I have to show things in dribs and drabs, the subject goes on forever and at this rate they will release it on the official page by 2050.
"That's partly why lately you'll see that I do them alone, if I give them to someone to paint it's possible that because of what people do, the thing will take forever…
"This problem is more personal and unreal than anything else, the truth is that it exasperates me not knowing or having a date to deliver or finish these things, I don't know if it is my defect or what, but I am very strict with deadlines and so on, obviously Yes, I am that way with myself as well with others, although I already said, yes to me, but I cannot demand anything from the rest, as is logical.
"So the fact of making a mosaic by myself means that I can control the deadlines at all times, and thus remain calmer in this aspect.
"That's why you will see that I don't stop putting previews or panels… as I said today I have 7 finished mosaics on my part… and they are waiting to be finished… and I'm doing 5 more… that's what I want To say that if I painted those that I have pending I probably wouldn't be able to draw those 5 so I won't give much more, a shame.
"In reference to the image, I must say that it is Starscream.. I honestly don't know if I will leave it in gray or in color.. for what I intend in the mosaic, perhaps it would do better with color.. but the results like this are not bad….
"However, a note, I don't like transformers with lips… that is, not like I've done them here… does that mean that I don't like this drawing? Well… it's not that I'm excited about it. , but it's not that bad either.
"However, with Starscream I have a problem… since he is a big mouth and a bit effeminate, unconsciously I always mark his lips a lot… but it's funny, it only happens to me with him, so I take it more as a detail that defines a bit. the personality of the character more than anything else, and it also helps to minimally distinguish between Skywarp and Thundercracker, so it is possible that… if you look closely, although you may not like it at all, this detail is not entirely bad.
"About the story… I can't tell you too much, logically… since… it's a page and I'll tell you what it's about…"
"Human Component: Ginrai" [2009-06-29]
"Here's a sketch about how I plan to draw Ginrai in the Human Component, a small character study… I wasn't planning on uploading it now, but since I don't know when you'll be able to see it… here's a little preview. I know it's not a big deal… but the page will be better.
"In theory, the style of this drawing is the same as that of the mosaic… so… I thought I wanted to make a color page painted with traditional watercolor."
Untitled Wilder/Shuta comic [2006-12-30, 2010-05-11, 2010-06-02]
wada sez: I've also included the very first piece of fanart shared on Iván's deviantART, which depicts Wilder!
"A long time ago I started a mosaic about this man… I may not finish it, but I wanted to give my version of this character.
"The Japanese guy was fine, but he had the eighties and effeminate air of that time, for a tough guy, a thug, he had too fine features, a perfect complexion, and a neat style, I can't imagine a gang member physically like that.
"I kept the characteristic features, such as the hair covering the eye and the tape, although here it is not appreciated too much, and I tried to give it a more serious, more realistic, and harder touch… I based myself a little on the actor Toshiro Mifune from the Hidden Fortress, for example.
"I think that this way, he physically passes more for being a "bad" gang member etc…"
"Well… a quick design that I made for a page that I have pending… and that will not be finished… about a preview of a Wilder against Shuta fight….
"I already showed you another of the panels a few days ago… the one in which we saw Wilder angry…
"So… if I were to make a comic about transformers… it would be something pretty similar to this.
"As you can see, I went from line art… as I always say, if the drawing is done in ink, in color, the only thing it can do is win… the colorist has to be very bad for it to not look good.
"Also… this type or style of robot, with well-drawn humans and rich backgrounds, I think would make a Transformers comic seen through different eyes, and not as a third-category comic.
"As you can see, it is a more serious, more adult and more realistic style, it is clearly Masterforce, a series that due to the incompetence of some, lack of judgment on the part of others and lack of general vision… I fear that it will fall eternally into oblivion, except for a few fans. A shame.
"It is somewhat reminiscent of the Bay or Figueroa style, but being less complicated, it maintains the characteristic features of G.1
"It doesn't look bad at all, for a quick design.
Untitled "TF3 Mosaic" (Scourge) [2011-07-08, 2011-07-11]
"A small contact with the character for a mosaic that I want to do, the truth is that in the movie he is very lackluster in the face of so many robots, however his potential, just like it had in the original series, is very great.
"Some time ago I made a mosaic about the Constructicons, directly in Photoshop, with a somewhat, let's say "conceptual" style, well, that was a small test to do other things of this type.
"To finish off the drawing a little and make it more of an illustration, I added a background of Chicago manipulated with a little color characteristic of the bad guys or this Shockwave.
"I feel that the resolution is not as good as it should be, but the original is too heavy."
"Fast design for a mosaic character. Yes, it´s Scourge in movie style.... not bad."
wada sez: And that's all! I was tempted to reach out to Iván to see if he could share any more material from these strips, but he hasn't been active on deviantART in almost a decade, and I suspect that he canned many of them for a reason. Still, it's an interesting window into his creative process and mindset regarding Mosaic as an endeavour!

I suffered through it so you don't have to
You can skip the Soul Eater NOT anime. Especially if you've read the Soul Eater manga. If you have read the manga, this anime will make you mad. ***Spoilers for Soul Eater NOT manga, anime, and Soul Eater manga in this post.*** I'm keeping this post vague though because frankly this anime isn't worth very many words. I may have had more positives until the last two episodes but well... No, not after those. If you want to experience NOT, then manga only. Really... I insist.
Things it did well: Overall, it followed its manga's story. Also they had the original Soul Eater voice actors for the canon characters except for Naigus.
Things that were neutral/acceptable: It re-ordered many, nay, most manga scenes, changed a few details, and added a little bit of extra stuff here and there that helped transitions and establishing settings the like, and moved the story forward faster. Nothing terribly wrong with that. None of it was necessary though, so trying to keep manga-canon and now anime-changes straight in one's head was confusing.
They briefly bring up "soul protect" which never came up in the manga, and is an important universe mechanic so it should have been mentioned.
They tried to add a few things to make some moments more emotional/relatable, and in most cases, up until the end it worked decently. But when they needed things to start to get serious and they began changing actual plot things...no, it did not help.
Things that start to go bad: Until about the last three episodes, almost every episode began with some sort of dream sequence (not in the manga; new stuff). This often involved under-aged nudity. None of these dream sequences were needed or valuable. Also, the show was full of under-aged nudity. To the point that the final episode had more under-aged nudity than it had battle against the villain.
Skipping manga scenes that were irrelevant was okay, but some scenes that would have added to the story were left out. And replaced with absolute trash. They had chances to fix some manga missteps, such as Naigus having no emotions over her partner's death, but they didn't.
Basically, almost anything that deviated from the manga in terms of actual plot was a bad decision. We did not need Meme randomly stabbing Sid with an arrow. All the creepy weird stuff with Meme and Shaula was grossly unnecessary. I could go on but... I don't want to remember all of it.
Things that are unforgiveable: The wings thing...from the Soul Eater manga. That is ALL I'm gonna say. That's too upsetting to even discuss. But if you really want me to? Ohhhh I will explain why that was the worst thing they could have possibly done. Ohkubo, if you wanted it in there so bad you should have made an accurate anime for Soul Eater. Not ruin something extremely important by throwing it in NOT in a way that literally cannot make sense with universe mechanics (so why is this even a discussion? it shouldn't be!) and completely undermines any value the thing has in Soul Eater
The final battle? Lasted all of a minute (after much unnecessary nude preamble), they moved it to the academy for no reason instead of having it at the dorm like in the manga, they eliminated Clay and Akane, and...they also eliminated a lot of the actual fighting scenes overall. And I do mean A LOT. They eliminated Lord Death's moment which was the only way to give any possible validity to the girls defeating Shaula, which even then is reaching.
Conclusion: Skip this anime. It took a cute and okay-ish manga and made it bad. It took a thin plot and made it thinner. None of the characters and their development in the first ten episodes mattered in the final two, those were so poorly done. They just used nudity to be edgy in the end and it did not work. The actually good plot points from the manga were undermined by changes and bad execution in the anime.
It's just... It's so bad. Those last two episodes. I can't fathom why they did what they did. EXCEPT... In terms of cutting out most of the battles, I think a lot of it was to avoid complicated animation scenes. Something I've noticed throughout is that, frankly, if it's not the hot girls...the animation is just bad. Stein for example, especially in episode 11, is dreadful. Anatomy went out the window there. And most weapon transformations throughout the show were done so that the weapon came from/vanished to somewhere off-screen and walked back in so they didn't have to animate the transformation actually happening.
And as for the plot changes in the last two episodes... There's no explanation. I think they had to change the plot since they chose to save money on animation. Without those animated battles, there wasn't anything else. So they had to add more stuff.
Oh yeah, and we didn't need the unnecessary boob-anchor weapon on Meme. Didn't see any of the other mind-controlled characters with a boob-anchor weapon...
And the show ends on two boob jokes. Literally, the last lines.
Skip this anime.
Time to purge it from memory with actual Soul Eater, which is brilliant (both canons).

Holiday HCs with the JoJos
Warning(s): some mention of self-hatred, some mention of depression, generally pretty light-hearted, no angsty endings
--
Jonathan Joestar
He doesn’t care what you two do together, as long as he’s by your side.
You get to choose the activities.
He will gladly follow along with everything, only stopping to make sure you’re okay and the activity isn’t too dangerous.
He loves giving you gifts over the holidays.
Jonathan sometimes thinks he doesn’t do enough or is enough for you, so he insists upon showering you with gifts and affection to make sure you’re always happy.
You insist that the gifts are completely unnecessary, and that you love him for him and not any material things he may have, but also appreciate and respect his decision, as long as he’s comfortable and still has money to live on.
He of course chooses to propose over the holidays, and makes sure everything is absolutely perfect before getting down on one knee.
Joseph Joestar
It is a complete gamble as to what he wants to do.
He sometimes enjoys things that are outdoors, and involve physical movement, whether that be building snowmen, ice-skating, or snowball fights (he’s quite immature sometimes).
However, there are days where all he wants to do is lay in bed with you by his side, unwilling to let you go until he insists he is warm enough.
The room is always freezing, and you do admit it is nice doing absolutely nothing but cuddling up to his side, feeling his arms around you as he peppers your face with kisses.
He doesn’t buy too many gifts, but the ones he gets are always rather bizarre, but also meaningful.
If you vaguely mention liking an animal, he’ll go out and find a way-too-big-to-fit-anywhere-practical statue of it.
He’s the definition of a himbo, and though he means well, he’s not got a brain cell in his body when it comes to practicality.
Still, you always press a kiss to his lips and thank him.
Jotaro Kujo
He’s a complicated man, that’s for sure.
It’s sometimes difficult to figure out what he likes and dislikes because his face is always stoic or grimacing.
Still, you’ve cracked his subtle emotions to the point where you know damn well what he wants to do.
Most of the time that involves visiting a zoo, aquarium, or some other place where animals are involved.
It’s always mesmerizing to see the lights and garland decorating the area, and better yet you and he get to see the beautiful animals around the place.
While it’s not a traditional, well, tradition, you enjoy it nonetheless, because as long as he’s by your side, always lightly squeezing your hand to make sure you know he loves you, everything is perfect.
Josuke Higashikata
He is childish.
And that’s simply part of his charm.
But because he’s childish, you often find yourself participating in things like snowball fights, and making snow angels.
And you really don’t mind.
Because seeing his laughing face is worth it.
And after you two are soaked in cold water from melted snow, you step inside, make some hot drinks, and cuddle up while watching a movie.
It’s usually something animated.
There’s a part of you that breaks at the thought of him never having a proper childhood, always looking out for his grandfather and mom, and having no father around, which is why he often indulges in things most people half his age enjoy.
And yet you’re so happy he’s finding time to heal his inner child.
And let you be there to see it happen.
Giorno Giovanna
Giorno isn’t a particularly celebratory person when it comes to the holidays, but still partakes in whatever tradition you want.
Because in his mind he’s not participating in a holiday, he’s participating in making you happy by doing something you enjoy.
And that’s what matters to him.
You want a Christmas tree?
He grows one.
You want to see a reindeer?
Do I have some great news for you.
He goes above-and-beyond because seeing the pure joy in your eyes is enough to have him going red.
In life, he’s always been by himself, so having the opportunity to really just enjoy life with someone by his side is amazing for him.
He will grow mistletoe in doorways.
Because he’s still Dio’s son, which means mischief and a little suave romance is in his veins.
Jolyne Cujoh
She spoils you silly.
Jolene doesn’t have too much money to her name, so she makes up for it by being there whenever you need anything.
Her gift to you is being your personal assistant, basically.
Though of course she expects some kisses in return.
She scrapes together a small tree and some ornaments, and makes sure to make little coupons that say things like:
‘Free massage’
‘Free kiss on the lips’
‘Free make out session at a place of your choosing’
It always makes you laugh, and most of the time you spend all of the coupons in one day, just staying in bed and enjoying yourselves.
Johnny Joestar
Much like his alternate self, Johnny has a habit of going overboard with gifts, as if to make up for some arbitrary thing he thinks he’s missing, when in reality you love him for him and wouldn’t change a thing about him.
He insists he isn’t buying you things as a way to earn your love, but you know he has a habit of projecting his own self-hatred onto other things as a way to ignore the elephant in the room.
You always make sure to shower him in praise and affection, and when you feel necessary, tell him to return a gift and instead just spend time with you.
Because you believe he himself is the best gift you have ever received.
Even if he doesn’t see it that way.
You and he like to throw parties over the holidays, making sure to invite all of your and his friends.
And you make sure to point out how many people care about Johnny and his well-being.
And that everyone there just wants Johnny to accept and love himself in the same way they love him.
Eventually, you work with Johnny enough to get some of his self-confidence back, and absolutely adore when he’s to the point where he can confidently flirt with you, and even show public affection.
Because he’s finally okay with showing that you're his, he’s yours, and you deserve each other and all the happiness in the world.

How is the Vexology of the Manuel and kyhuine?
Completely obsolete worldbuilding 2023
i was craving to mention flags some days ago so this is awesome ( for those who don't know cause I didn't either, vexillology is the study of flags)
Flags are not really a thing for maanuls and kyhuines, they do not feel the need to have a flag to assemble everyone in x region under a single piece of tissue, they kind of see it as a way to just divide their own species by creating a weird nonsensical pride for a flag that supposedly represents them all, when within a single region there are various cultures and subcultures, and nomadic groups. They see their species as like a network of mycelium roots(? idk if that sounds clear), that they can connect to each other no matter where they're from. So the thing of belonging to a flag would feel like an unnecessary barrier
They already don't have no borders so flags? i don't think that would fit them. But colonies do have symbols that translate to where they're from, by that I mean an example is on stustumali's botanist gear. a flat wooden piece with one side saying for example "west", flipping the piece there is the specific name of the colony they're from.
That's something maanuls that go out of the colony for x reason have, kyhuines can use a specific rock only found in their region, a little wooden symbol which is either a plant, animal, or mythical animal that shows they're from x colony that uses that as their little emblem thing which is the closest thing to an actual flag.
But that doesn't mean flags never existed in the history of altuyur! they did appear once, tho unfortunately they appeared in GA for the worst reason: Propaganda. The propaganda of kaar'kchir used a distinct flag to be impactful, and the red troupes seeing how effective it was adapted the same technique. And it did work well,it added to the impactful imagery and made their campaigns more aggressive.
The flag of kaar'kchir section 4 (GA)
now forgive me it's my first time trying to draw the flags correctly so it's not perfect as I'm not specialized in that. But this is the flag created after tamtam became captain of section 4. harboring their distinct color. Compared to the red troupes, they're easily spotted from far because of the green, while the red of the red troupes can hide them a bit in certain biomes.
The flag of the red troupes.
When the council appropriated the north star to use it as a focal symbol in its propaganda it harmed what the north star was about in the first place, for a while during the silver age people were too scared of using that symbol anymore. before had more meaning to it than being related to some terrible group of GA. it was a symbol of myth, power, and wonder for the world around them. But with time, they detached its connection from GA and started reusing them like they used to in their culture. But they still can't put a north star on a single red background with nothing else, that just calls back to the red troupes flags.
Devious branch of Kllte (timsitkah)
Now that's not a flag for a brainwashed military faction like the two above (section 4 and red troupes), but they still used the imagery of having a flag so people would notice them more, if their symbol was "tagged" people would know who did this. Tho they decided to use a square flag to stand out from the rectangle ones.
Now Ktlle is an anti-war, pacifist movement created during GA as a response to the war. Ktlle uses blue clothing to be recognized but does not use flags as they associate that with section 4 and the red troupes. But a devious branch of it ,"timsitkah", led by Äme and Satmuh, who had enough of ktlle not acting started to use violent methods to fight off section 4 and the red troupes. While them using violence is understandably justified when it comes to fighting against military oppresing factions, they still got banned from ktlle because ktlle did not accept any use of brutality in their group as they wanted to continue traditional philosophical rules of the two species, that any violence equals stupidity and spiritual blindness. That banned devious branch left, and then made up their own faction on their side, with a flag/symbol (the timsit worm), thus is how Timsitkah was created.
Although the start of timsitkah was quite messy, and unorganized. It had people in their rank wanting that wanted to use radical tactics, these people were mostly made up of teens and sub-adults that would do acts of literal vile terrorism, using kunsip (a section 4 invention, equivalent of gunpowder) in the name of timsitkah. While these people would get quickly shut off from timsitkah when these accident would happen, section 4 and the red troupes would use the terrorism accidents for more propaganda. Saying that timsitkah is all filled with violent terrorists that would kill civils in the name of their illogical ideologies. Which is completely hypocritical of section 4 and the red troupes to say. but its propaganda, so yeah it will always be stupid.
Ktlle is a full pacifist faction, and Timsitkah wants pacifism to come back AFTER fighting off section 4 and the red troupes and thus going back to times like AOS (tho that new age after GA gets called SA). Timsitkah will not hesitate to kill a member from any of the two military factions, in its ranks it had spies for section4/red troupes. But in the section 4/red troupes there was also spies for Timsitkah, notable people that did that are Qua'tuli (spy the red troupes) and Kaasim (spy in section 4)
thank you for reading i hope you liked my answer :)

I bought volume one of The Ice Guy and The Cool Girl. My disappointment is immeasurable (except I did measure it) and my day is ruined.
‼️Beyond this point, there will be spoilers of the manga volume one. Be warned.‼️
(Enjoy this non-serious and very lighthearted manga review)
:SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS:
So I’ve read about this series and seen several Insta reels about how cute it is. I wanted to understand the hype over it so I grabbed the first volume as a little treat. ✨
First two pages, I literally made a Snap[chat] about how cute it was and how excited I was to dive into this book.
But one small, petty little thing kept bothering me.
The fact that the male MC is a descendant of a snow spirit was mentioned almost every other page. By chapter 8 I was like “surely, they do not say ‘Himuro is the descendant of a snow spirit’ every other page forever, right?”
After 8 chapters of this I just-
So I literally went back to the beginning and started counting every single time it says anything about this dude being a spirit. Almost every count was the exact quote, ‘Himuro is the descendant of a snow spirit’.
I think there were maybe 2-3 times where the wording was different because somebody was talking about Himuro directly to him or something similar. But for the most part it was that exact quote.
In total, I counted 13 mentions through the first volume. Which could have been forgivable, especially since the mentions slowed after chapter 8. Except for one thing.
One page mentions him being a snow spirit descendant or whatever THREE TIMES on the same page (possibly four times if you do include quotes where “snow” or “spirit” are not used and “supernatural being” is used instead).
All thirteen times tell you, the reader, Himuro is a snow spirit or the descendant of a snow spirit. In case you forgot since one page ago.
Completely unnecessary and tbh a little obnoxious to read over and over again??
I swear ‘Himuro is the descendant of a snow spirit’ is going to be a trigger for me like I’m some kind of sleeper agent once I reach old age.
On a positive note: I suppose at $14.99 this is about $1 per “snow spirit” mention. Which is a bang for my buck. Can you imagine if they only mentioned it 2-5 times? Major rip off.
Final thoughts: The story was cute. The characters did feel a bit bland and a lot of the scenes started to feel repetitive. Maybe I would enjoy this in an anime format more?
⛄️❄️10 ‘Himuro is the descendant of a snow spirit’s out of 10❄️⛄️

ethics of pelt (my opinion)
ive noticed a problem that is already well known, the ethics of tail in the therian/otherkin community so i want to state my opinion on this.
cw for mention of animal death and mention of animal cruelty
no fur farm is ethical. if an animal is being bred only for its "product" that is still unnecessary harm done to the animal. even if the animal "had a good life" its only purpose being brought into this world is to die for its pelt.
"it would have died anyways" is not an argument. you are still supporting the fur farm industry if you are knowingly buying a tail or any animal product from a fur farm
hunting is not ethical in any way, especially hunters who hunt for "sport" i dont even wanna talk about, thats obviously cruel
in my opinion, the only ethically sourced tails are roadkill, animals who have died of old age (who havent been bred for their fur) and private resellers reselling fur farm tail who are not making a buisness out of reselling fur farm tails and are not connected to fur farms in any way, but thats hard to verify
ofc its best to not buy pelt at all, but if you want to buy it, buy it from a local shop with no ties to fur farms. etsy is another option but just because its from etsy doesnt mean it is completely free of cruelty
edit: alternatives to real fur are yarn tails and faux fur tails! they can look indistinguishably similar

RED, WHITE, & ROYAL BLUE MOVIE REVIEW
SPOILERS FOR THE MOVIE AND BOOK!
So, i just saw Red, White, and Royal Blue movie and it waaaaaaaaaassss
Disappointing. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It wasn't bad. It wasn't abhorrent. But, it had one too many scenes that made me go "Aw. Oh come on! Why?!"
I'll preface this by saying I read the book a long time ago and yet I still remember it as one of my favorites. I obviously was not expecting them to make a complete copy of the book for the movie. I don't really care if a movie is a one to one retelling of a book. But, when your changes are, instead of improvements, detriments, that is when I wish you had either used something from the source material or thought a little more about how you could make a good change.
Let's get this started so I can explain in detail.
First, what I liked. And by liked, I mean loved. The sexy scene in the Paris hotel. And I'm not saying this because of smut and I love smut. I'm saying I loved this because this looks like an actual fairytale. This sensual scene looks like what I've been looking for. A queer movie with a fairytale storybook atmosphere. The lighting, the bedding ( as if they were making love in a king bed in a palace ). How quiet and soothing the characters voices are. How slow their movements are. It felt like this could have come out of Disney golden age. Movies like Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty have this art, music, character movements that feel so graceful. Like it was water moving. I swear if Cinderella had an intimate scene, it would look just like the Paris scene. That scene was might be the epitome of romantic sensual scenes. I hope more romances take notes, especially if they are going for a fairytale vibe.
And now, what I didn't like.
June/Nora. If you didn't know, June, who was Alex's sister in the books, is now Nora, Alex's friend and granddaughter to the vice president. I'm still not sure why this change was made. Some have theorized was because Henry already had a sister and they didn't want to do the same with Alex. Well, whatever the reason, it seems unnecessary considering how little Nora had to do. I've been a yaoi anime fan for years and I've witnessed that some of the biggest criticism is how bad the female characters are. They're either scheming or just cheer leaders and nothing else. I appears that only Nora but, Bea, fell into this trope. In the book, June might still have been a secondary character but she still has more to do. She was working as a journalist and as she was also the child of Ellen and Oscar, she felt some the stress that Alex had ( in the book ) from their parents divorce. She also took part in the pr stunt and dated Henry when the emails were leaked. Bea's backstory of being a drug addict and being called "powder princess" was also removed. And I just hate it. These female characters had their own history and lives. They were not just there to tell Alex and Henry "oh, you love him" "oh go for it", they actually existed outside of them. If people hate female characters being boring cheerleaders in action movies, in romcoms, they aren't going to like it just because its a queer rom com this time. Bea went into drugs after her father's death. She still gets bullied by it. She has her own life and struggles to live through in the book, even as a secondary character. The only reason she went to rehab was because Henry was so scared to lose another family member and be more alone in the world after he told her it was gay. This was a way for Bea to be supportive without her character being reduced to boring cheerleader. Lord, she even sat far away from the meeting with Henry's grandfather. That is how far removed she is and how little she needed to be there and it's just so frustrating. There's also Bea's and Henry's mom who is only mentioned once and that is when Henry says he can't talk to her because she's either hunting elephants or doing some charity for elephants. I genuinely do not remember. I think that was her one mention in the movie. In the book, she was detached from kids but she had a good relationship with them before her husband died. And she steps up and stands up to her mother to protect her kids. She changed as a person. Even if it was off-screen ( well, off-page ) she had her own development as a character. And it showed just how Henry and Alex's relationship changed the people around them for the better. Their relationship was changing the world and right in front of us, it changed his mother. June/Nora, Bea, and Bea's and Henry's mom just had nothing. This change was most definitely not an improvement.
It also drove me crazy just how fast this movie was. There are montages where there really shouldn't be. Like the hospital montage or the getting to know each other montage. I would much prefer if there were less montages and more more on screen developments. Show conversations between Henry and Alex growing as friends. Show the book convo where Henry is talking to a cancer patient about star wars instead of just showing Alex watching him talk to a cancer patient in a conversation we can't hear. Small things like that show more about Henry and show Alex, and thervy, the audience that Henry is more caring towards people than he lets on. A montage does not do a good enough job of that. It just feels your trying to skip through matieral. I get that this is a movie and you don't have much time to work with but could really not afford a few more conversations. Ugh, seriously, Amazon should have just made this into a mini series or something. And how a lot of changes in the characters just felt so random. Let's take Alex's confusion after Henry kissed him on New Year's. He has a talk with Nora and she asks him if he liked it. And this makes him question if he likes Henry. Then Henry and him meet again at a party and the White House and they start making out. What I can't figure out is what Alex wants out of the situation. Is it love? Is it exploration? It just moved so fast that it's hard to pick up on what kind fo realization Alex reached. If it was love, even with the little time they had, they could have showed Alex realizing he might be romantically into Henry. Let's say before he talks to Nora, Alex goes for a quiet walk in the park. He wonders what that kiss was. And he imagines Henry walking right next to him. And he really enjoys Henry's company. He likes when Henry smiles, when he laughs, when he teases him, etc. After that scene quiets down, he goes to Nora and tells her about the kids and there they have a talk about Alex liking the kiss. Because we just established how he would love to walk with Henry just canoodling, we can understand that he clearly liked Henry kissing him. You can't just say he liked the kiss, you have to show. Show don't tell, is one of the biggest rules in romance. I'd argue more than most genres. Because romance is often about internal feelings and realizations. You have to make the audience feel with your character. You can't just say the character felt something, especially at something as pivotal as the first kiss. You have to show us the realization.
There's also another realization they didn't put. When Henry is singing karaoke and then we shoot back to Alex. All they needed to do was slow things down and focus on a change of expression from Alex, showing he's reached a realization. This scene is supposed to be after his mom tells him he needs to know whether or not it's forever with Henry. All you needed was a few seconds of quiet and slowness. And there is also another scene where the movie went too fast. When Alex confronted Henry and when Henry comes to a realization he wants Alex. In the book, Alex is yelling at Henry until he gets quiet and tells Henry that if he wants Alex to leave, he has ro tell him to leave. We go though a lot of emotions in this book scene. It waits for a few seconds. With Henry in Alex's face and Alex telling Henry, nice and slow, to tell him to leave until Henry starts kissing him. In the movie, Alex says Henry has to tell him to leave but there's no big voice changes, no emotions like anger and intense stubbornness. The characters feel like they are exercising the same amount of emotion throigh the whole movie. Alex and Henry cry ( not yell, very little push and tug, just sad, not really a spectacle of emotions from a scene that supposed to be about getting everything out ), Alex says tell me to leave, Henry says please don't, and theygo to the museum. This scene does show how Henry wants a private life without people gawking at him but then Alex plays their song, they start dancing, and Henry says he's in. That's it. There's no reason he's in after saying how much he wants a more private life, he just says he's in. Then we follow with Alex getting on the plane and Henry giving him his ring and Alex giving him his key. I don't know what to say for this other than it's just so boring. At the very least, they could have soared a few minutes to do that scene from the book with Henry holding Alex's hand and saying he 100% in and Alex unfolding his hand to find the ring. If a romance scene actually includes swapping important valuables, you need to actually show that this is a big deal. Not just, here's something to remember me by, which can also be a sweet heart felt scene but this scene just felt like they were trying to finish it up. Just slow down a little bit.
Now on to Philip. You know, the one who did get to sit in for the meeting and say something while Bea sat away like a child that didn't know anything. Anyway, he didn't have much to do in the book either. However, without him knowing, he convinced Henry to start a real relationship with Alex. After Alex storms the palace ( yes, it was a storming in the book and I love that because it actually shows this scene is supposed to be different from the others and signal that these characters are about to reach a different stage in their story and romance) and Henry and him make love, Henry goes out for a jog and runs into Phillip. They have a talk about how Philip has to start working on the heirs he and his wife need to create even though he doesn't like children. And Henry realizes Phillip's not even miserable, he's fine with all of it. He's completely fine. And Henry realizes he doesn't want to live that lofe of just being "fine". That whole thing is summed up in Alex saying "nothing will ever happen to you". I guess they figured if he said it twice it would be as good as that scene. Could have at least added a voice crack from the actor and pulling Henry in closer to say that last "nothing will happen to you" if they wanred to hammer something home. Even that wouldn't have been as good as the book because again, show don't tell ( actually this would have been something the movie could have improved upon by using a flashback. Book Henry just relayed the talk with Philip. Ironically, that still had more impact than Alex saying "nothing will ever happen to you" twice and yet it was something they could have improved ) but at least it wouldn't have been so 'blah'.
I'd also like to mention how Henry saying he's liked Alex since the first time he met him was so dull. In the movie, he just says it when they are having s**. In the book, it's when they are in bed joking and Henry is just like "yeees, the whole time. Nothing gets past you" and they just joke around playing with pillows. I love moments like these. Moments when couples are just laying in bed and just talking and learning about each other. Learning about things that never came up and are finally coming out.
Now to one of my biggest turn offs from the movie. The absence of Luna. Luna was a queer senator that Alex teased but admired. He turned over to the opponents team and Alex felt like it was a betrayal for all that he stood for. Alex saw this guy that looked like him working hard to do good and it inspired Alex. But, when Luna goes over to the other side, Alex cries to Henry that maybe there's no point to it all. But, Henry calms him and tells Alex that he is good and he works hard to be good. This whole conversation about Alex's fear that he might not be able to do anything and Henry comforting, those moments are the reason why I love seeing the relationship on screen. I like the will they won't they parts of romance but I also like when we finally see the characters in a relationship. The moments when we see what they are like as boyfriends. How they support each other through trying times. Those are wonderful moments in on screen relationships. And we barely got anything of them just talking to each other or going through romantic moments as boyfriends! Luna also tells everyone that Richards was the one who hacked the emails. Again, we see how Alex and Henry's relationship is already changing the people around them and inspiring determination in Luna. I know. I know. Luna had a lot to do in the book and this is a movie and we're strapped for time. Seriously, Amazon, mini series would have been the way to go.
They also changed Alex's parents from being divorced to still be being married. Why, though? Having divorced parents would added an interesting layer to Alex as a character and his relationship with Henry. Seeing how his parents fought always made him upset. He knows that a relationship could end in a break up. Yet, he still dates Henry because love was worth it. This is what romances thrive on. That even with the obstacles, love is worth it. And his love with Henry was worth fighting for.
They also didn't include that pr date with, I believe, Alex being with Zahra and Henry being with June. When rumors started circling that Alex and Henry were together, they had to try to debunk that. And Alex and Henry were distraught because they had to hide their love and two women were being used for this. I like this. There are consequences in this romance. It shows just how big their relationship is. And it shows their remorse in having to use two human women as chess pieces. Because these women are actually people not just their cheerleaders.
I'll just finish this off with something that more of a pet peeves to me. Henry's utter surprise when he hears "sweat dropped down my balls". Come on, honey, child, you heard American songs before. Don't pretend, darling. But seriously, at the end of the book, Henry ( or Alex, I don't remember which one ) reveals to Alex ( or Henry ) that he wants to move in an apartment together. It's super sweet. And shows they can finally move on int heir relationship and be together. In the movie, if looks more like Alex is just showing Henry his house and showing him where he grew up and less about moving in together. I don't even know if he mentioned anything about moving in together. Also, at the end of the book, they notice a mural painted on a wall to celebrate their queer love. I think that would have been a much better note to end on. To show what this movie was about. A gay love story where things just worked out and it didn't end in pain and instead ended with the world celebrating this love story. Some might argue that would have been cheesy, but cheesy is romance's best friend. Romance is where you can have all the cheesiness you want. Just enjoy things about the heart.
As you can, I take my romance seriously.
I don't think this is a bad movie. Not at all. I think it's good. I think the actors did a good job and took their roles seriously. But, I can say that the book is definitely better. I would recommend watching this movie. Especially the Paris scene. I still can't get over how much it felt like it was ripped out of a storybook. I recommend the movie. It's nice. But, I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend reading the book afterwards. It just is better. At least in my opinion. And read it with the audiobook, it's pretty good.
( Wish these audiobooks would have some background music and different voice actors for different characters. That would just make them just a whole new genre within themselves. Somebody, anybody, please get in that! )

The small girl fiddled with her father's hand, examining it. It was so much larger then her tiny little ones, bit something always stuck out to her about them. His dull fingernails that were painted black, why were they to dull? She didn't see any use in them being that way, how did he hunt when they were like this.
"Papa, why are your claws so short and dull? How do you hunt with them like this?"
She had no idea what Ki is, how could she? She didn't necessarily even know the full existence what magic is despite being born in a universe full of it. She was young, so her magic hadn't even manifested when Kefla had found her and taken her in. Not to mention there was now no chance for it to do such in a univers full of Ki, something that would surely benefit her in the future at some point.
The small girl would continue to mess with his hand, subtlety lifting it up to look at the polish before ever so graciously deciding to zero in on one of them before deciding to use her sharp little teeth to try and get the polish off his nail. Using one of her upper fangs to be exact, griping onto his hand with her own little hands which had nails in need of a manicure once more.
"What ish dish stuff on your slawsh?"
After a long day at work, he earned some time for himself. Tomorrow was supposedly not going to be as heavy in tasks as today. But if he wanted to be lazy, he could just send a copy to work while he would stay at home to do other things like taking care of Lucy. Speaking of the infant, she had became better at speaking the Sadalian language. He thought he would have to do some language practicing with her, but she was a bit of a genius even if she was a bit chaotic on the side. Her ability to learn and comprehend was higher than most and that explained her curiosity about most things even if, sometimes, it was completely unnecessary knowledge to have.
Just like with his nails and how he could even manage to hunt with nails that were short and dull as she said. A bit strange that she was talking about hunting like she was an expert of sort, but he remembered that during their first encounter, he found her hunting a strange rabbit thing. To develop hunting instinct at such a young age, he wondered if he made the right call to prevent her from approaching any single animals on the planet. It was similar to turning a predator into a prey and if her parents had decided to raise her like they should have : how different would their method be?
He was raising Lucy like a saiyan, but perhaps this was not the best method.
[— Because that's how I was born, and I don't need to have claws to hunt. My strength and speed is more than enough, and it will be the same for you, eventually.]
He let her do as she pleased with his hand until, for some reason, she decided to remove the black paint on his nails with her teeth. Just a mere second in, he had already slipped his hand away from her mouth with a long sigh leaving him. One, this stuff was extremely toxic and two, he had to get black nail polish again. He could understand that she needed to be taught a few things, but she was at that age where common sense would already be kicking in. Like how eating the nail of someone who just wrong, but she was not a saiyan and was harder to raise than one, actually.
[— That is not for you to know until you get old enough to use makeup. In any case, you need a manicure again.]
Without letting Lucy say anything like a complete refusal, he lifted her into his arms and took her to his room where all the tools necessary were. Better to prevent any nails infection and if she is girly like Alicia is in the future, she is going to do manicure and pedicure on her own. That, or she could ask his daughter to do it for her; she would be more than happy to oblige.
That thought aside, he would start by trimming her nails with a nail clipper. Her nails now sporting a square look as he took the next tool to continue: a glass nail file to seal the layers of the nail and the cuticle stick to push out the dead skin. As he notes that there is dead skin lodged in a deeper area of some nails, he gets the cuticle scissors and make sure to remove them as slowly and carefully as possible to avoid hurting Lucy. Knowing how difficult it is for her to just stay put in one spot. He rewards her with a bag of candies of different shape and taste.
As far as he is concerned, it is good to reward a child for behaving well and good to punish them when they behave in an inappropriate way. Afterward, they should be able to tell the difference between what is right to do and wrong to do by themselves.

Oppenheimer
7 minutes into the movie and I am riddled with an excitement coursing through my veins, making up the very air of my lungs. i had felt the same way when i was watching The Imitation Game and perhaps it is the knowledge that fuels me, knowing that it is this quiet and misunderstood lead who would soon be one of the forefathers of a new age. and perhaps by extension, explains why i resonate so much with the Underdog trope. there was this looming effervescence the movie's sound design and OST was able to capture. the distant thrums of a hidden world teasing your intuition. hitting you like nightmares in the dark. elusive vulture-like things, disappearing completely just when you thought you saw its gilded claw by the flash you could have sworn caught it. it may also be because i had been surrounded by intellectuals during the formative years of my life. i was a mathlete and so cooing mothers would coop us into white empty classrooms, where the only colors which were mostly dark, anyway, were the program's letter-jackets. many of these were scattered around the room, slipped on by slouching children with restless hands and equally-restless minds. i have enjoyed their company for a long while and because i am a product of my environment, i find myself drawn to these frisky dew-eyed intellectuals. rabid little things held on tight leashes.
now oppenheimer had this quiet way of talking similar to cumberbatch's portrayal of Alan Turing, cold, elusive, inviting. Charming. i sense killer instincts, a desire to prove their mettle and the inevitable burst into success and fame.
i know this trope so closely and i align with it so passionately because this is a common wood i have traveled through and back in laps of jubilant sprees. by myself, with my looked-down upon friends- i enjoy the taste of the wind and the charm that remains exorbitantly in hunting the sun's rays before it elapses.
time and time again i have learned to love the process. the painful threshing of its applicants (see, Start-Up, Fourth Wing, Naruto, The Mysterious Benedict Society, etc), the painful mentorship process (Ice Wolves, Whiplash) in which the leads are often pushed to their mental and physical limits. Within the eye of the demented storm, just when the bites of the wind have churned their very soul, crunched them beyond recognition, they emerge better, tougher, stronger. A better animal. In the Imitation Game (as well as in the anime, Windbreaker) we see similarities in the protagonist and how obviously apt they already are at the skills the story is centered upon. In the movie, it is code-breaking, in the anime, it is fighting. It seems that the leads are already at their top game and if they were to improve further, it would be only a measly and perhaps unnecessary attachment to what is already an unquestionably formidable power. But where the writer is concerned, these stories in the beginning may often find themselves besieged by critiques of its dullness or blandness. For what arc could there possibly be if these underdog tropes traditionally showcase an upgrade in power and skill, rather than the emotional existentialist backdrop that quite a many of high fantasy novels fail to present? But what separates the two works that I had mentioned is that instead of focusing the growth to be on the skills dimension, it focuses bravely on the human side. With every flashback, we see Alan Turing's life laid bare in front of us. Struggles faced with his hidden homosexuality the difficulties in defusing his apparent coldness when he simply is weak in properly attending and responding to social cues as they come and appear. Slowly, painstakingly, he grows in where he was once underdeveloped, going through stages that my heart couldn't get enough of in media: the unspoken and often undocumented processes that one goes through when maturing. and like a dream, when we emerge out of this threshing, we forget the salt of the substance, and what is left is only its taste. the feeling of it on our tongue, in our lungs, warming our ears and leaving our chest as we exhale the memories we once clung to so tightly. a softness escaping our hapless fingers.
He grew as a person, but had met an unfortunate fate when people who failed to meet his face, saw instead his back. the dark stain of his relentlessness, warped and misinterpreted into the ferocity of a beast, capable of dooming humanity with only his fists. and when he spreads it, a heart gallops. lightning struck, flaming a fire as people stepped backwards at the sight. i can only guess that they, too, saw the raw talent dancing around his fingers, and devastatingly, saw claws. familiarity. tragedy. the hunger and spirited prowl into an unseen world. emerging victorious, confetti and glitter painting your burnished skin as they gaze loosely into the thousands of cameras that broadcast you unto millions of screens around the world.
and none of those people would know you like i do.

Why?!
It all started when the professor told us to watch the first chapter of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The next day I started to do my homework (to see the first chapter of Neon Genesis Evangelion) and finally, after three days, I had watched the complete anime, including the movie The End of Evangelion (I have no regrets). Although I liked the anime and the movie, I noticed that some scenes of the movie were very unnecessary, and they were specificaly the nasty scene of Shinji (the main character) masturbating in front of Asuka, when she was in a coma!!, and the scene of Misato kissing Shinji, when their age difference was more than ten years!! (the problem is that she is an adult woman and he is a student). I think that both scenes were very unnecesary and they don't really affect the plot of the anime, in the first scene that I mentioned, it is more a fan service (for a very disturbed person), and in the second scene that I mentioned, I think that Shinji was going to continue unmotivated independient of the event of the kiss, because his problem went beyond something that could be solved with a French kiss from an older woman. So my question is the following: Why did they resort to such scenes?

(Sorry in advance for the rather long, disorganized post. This was too much to post on Twitter so I’m typing it up here. There’s not a specific point, it’s mostly just me venting, but absolutely feel free to reblog if you wish!)
Being vegan is an almost exclusively nonvegan world can be extremely exhausting. I know myself and many other animal rights advocates and activists often feel discouraged when we see anti-vegan propaganda get hundreds of thousands of notes on Tumblr or insert itself into the mainstream media (such as the skewed coverage of the Meat the Victims protest where news outlets were lying about the actions of the activists despite hours of livestream footage covering every second of the sit-in).
We see our loved ones feasting on the remnants of torture and death. We see these products advertised to us everywhere. We are constantly surrounded by grim reminders of how horrible the world is and how many people don’t care and/or refuse to see the truth. It can be so, so draining. I often lay awake at night thinking about how helpless I feel and getting lost in my own anger at how we can let such atrocities continue. This is not made any easier when the people endorsing these industries and defending their actions are your friends and family. It’s one thing to argue with a middle-aged man on Facebook wearing a MAGA hat in his profile picture who is trying to tell you eating meat makes you healthy. It is a different thing entirely when your own loved ones are the ones resorting to pseudoscience or fallacious methods of argumentation - or, even worse, apathy - to continue supporting something that you are completely against with every fiber of your being. There’s a certain kind of hurt I feel when I see an anti-vegan tumblr post on my dashboard. When I scroll up and see it came from a friend, however, it’s like a sword through my heart. I feel hopeless.
No movement that has questioned the status quo has ever been easy for the activists involved. Ever. We are activists and we are challenging some of the most fundamental societal beliefs that people hold onto with vigorous tenacity. That will naturally be accompanied by intense backlash. But just know that you are not alone. Your experiences are not unique, and that your pain is shared by all of us. But that pain is a beautiful thing. It means you care, that you believe in something. We are united by this pain, but that also means we are united by our compassion.
#im just getting so sick of seeing antivegan nonsense come from friends#i had one dming me who strawmanned me then implied i was lying#and then went onto ask me why i was always talking about the environmental impact of meat but not of plant crops#and it was done in a way that implied i was lacking compassion or that i didnt care#like excuse me?#how DARE you criticize me for trying to do SOMETHING when you are not doing ANYTHING#how DARE you#i focus on animal ag most of the time because it is a natural extension of the philosophy i hold regarding animal rights#that doesnt mean i dont care about other issues#not to mention animal ag is COMPLETELY unnecessary#in the western world#dont @ me talking about societies hunting to survive because i am obviously not talking about them

― Sakura Haruno being described as the best medic-ninja of Konoha in official material
The information presented in this post has been checked and revised. My aim is not to hate or to discredit any of the characters mentioned. Please read about me for further information.
This post will contain evidence in picture format directly from the manga Naruto (1999 - 2014) created by Masashi Kishimoto and published by Shueisha in 1999. I will also use information present in the novels, promotional magazines and the databooks of Naruto.
This informative post will show a few pieces of media where Sakura Haruno has been described as “the best medic-ninja of Konohagakure” using examples from different sources. The evidence displayed in this post are some of the examples I could find, as I considered some to be repetitive.
This meta is crossposted in AO3.
I give my permission to use or share this thread with informative purposes as long as you credit me.
I do not support the anime or the work of Studio Pierrot in regards to Naruto because I consider it over exaggerated and beyond biased. Furthermore, these fillers include some actions that these characters are unable to do in the canon according to official sources and they also generate unnecessary debate.
Please, take this into consideration.
Since she started training, Sakura Haruno demonstrated to have a talent for medical ninjutsu unseen since her senpai Shizune, considered a kunoichi with skills that led her to be considered second to Tsunade.
According to the third databook, at age 16, Sakura was already considered a top medic-ninja even among those that came before her and worked in the village as professionals.
Her skills allowed her to start working in Konoha Hospital as part of the Medic Corps and the manga displays her doing her job in this building a few times.
By age 17, Sakura was considered a jōnin level medic-ninja, despite being a ninja of chūnin rank.
Jōnin level medic-ninja are those Medic Corps whose abilities have become “near godly”, like Shizune, who is a jōnin kunoichi that specializes in medical ninjutsu and derived and can work in the hospital.
This term might be a little bit misleading, because being a jōnin medic-ninja does not mean that every jōnin shinobi that can perform medical ninjutsu is considered as such. The official denomination used for above chūnin level ninja that specialize in one specific area are called tokubetsu jōnin, like Ibiki Morino and his vast knowledge of interrogation and the mind. However, the hierarchy of Konoha Hospital deems jōnin to their workers, the Medic Corps, that have reached a very high level of medical ninjutsu skills.
During the Fourth Shinobi World War, White Zetsu infiltrated the Logistical Support and Medical Division to kill the ninja since medical ninjutsu users are the main support system in battle. The enemy started targeting the most skilled medic-ninja, those jōnin medic-ninja, and among them was Sakura.
In the midst of war and after completing the Byakugō no In, Sakura had already surpassed Shizune and her master, Tsunade according to the fourth databook.
Two years after the war, there is many information about Sakura’s status as the best medic-ninja of Konoha coming in different formats.
The material included next comes from official promotional magazines and novels set in the Blank Period and The Last: Naruto the Movie.
During this time, Sakura continued to work in the hospital with he Medic Corps healing the injured as a result of the Fourth Shinobi World War as mentioned in some novels, one of them Sakura Hiden: Thoughts of Love, Riding Upon a Spring Breeze and Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise, among others.
Not only was Sakura still a constant aid in the hospital just as before, according to the movie’s guidebook, she even earned the rank of jōnin (上忍) right after the war, not only as a powerful kunoichi, but also as a medic-ninja that was already recognized with that level years prior.
From this point in time, Sakura has been described as the best medic-ninja in Konoha in the following material:
The Last: Naruto the Movie promotional magazine 1:
Japanese: 春野サクラ— 綱手の技術を継承し、里一の医療忍者に長レている。怪力も健在 。
English: “Haruno Sakura: She inherited Tsunade's skills and is the best medical ninja in the village. Her superhuman strength is still alive.”
Full picture:
The Last: Naruto the Movie promotional magazine 2:
Japanese: 春野サクラ — 木ノ葉隠れ随一の医療忍者に育つ。師匠である綱手の度胸と怪力も健在。
English: “Haruno Sakura: She grew up to be the best medical ninja in Konohagakure. The legacy and courage of her master Tsunade have been passed down to her.”
Full picture:
The Last: Naruto the Movie character description 1:
Japanese: 春野サクラ — 木ノ葉隠れ随一の医療忍者に育つ。師匠である綱手の度胸と怪力も健丘。
English: “Haruno Sakura: She grew up to be the best medical-ninja in Konohagakure. The legacy and courage of her master Tsunade have been passed down to her.”
The Last: Naruto the Movie character description 2:
Japanese: 春野サクラ — 第七班 所属のくノ一で、ナルトと共に成長してきた仲間。五代目火影・稠手に弟子入りし、今では木ノ葉隠れ随一の医療忍者として活躍している。精緻なチャクラ制御能と、師匠議りの度胸を用いて緑り出す怪力が武器。
English: “Haruno Sakura: A kunoichi from Team 7 who has grown up with Naruto. She became a disciple of the 5th Hokage, Tsunade, and has successfully become the best medical ninja in Konohagakure. With delicate chakra control and training of her master, she can unleash superhuman strength and medical ninjutsu.”
Full picture:
The Last: Naruto the Movie novel character description:
Maruo Kyozuka is the author of this novel. He is also the scriptwriter of the movie.
Japanese: 春野サクラ — 木ノ葉隠れの里随一の医療忍者。
English: “Haruno Sakura: The best medic-ninja of Konoha.”
This novel has been officially translated into Spanish and Portuguese. Here are the official description of Sakura in both languages.
Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding
Shō Hinata is the author of this novel. It has been translated into Portuguese and French, the next excerpt was share by two followers and the English fan translation was provided by http://cacatuasulphureacitrinocristata.tumblr.com
This is Sakura’s dialogue in the novel.
You can read Konoha Hiden in English and this chapter here.
However, there is something different about the French and Portuguese and the English translations. In French, Sakura describes herself as “une femme médecin de premier ordre au village” which literally means “a top class medic-ninja in the village”, while the Portuguese describes her as “uma das melhores ninjas médicas da vila” which literally means “one of the best medic-ninjas of the village”. So, there’s obviously a problem between the English and the other translations.
Some readers have pointed out that Panini, the publisher, has received complaints about their translations before, so this might be another problem related to it.
There is also something to note about the difference of these translations:
In the Portuguese translation, Sakura is speaking about being able to use monster strength, which requires precise chakra control, makes her a better medic-ninja than others. However, the only people that can use chakra enhanced strength are herself and Tsunade. In that case, she’s comparing her master and herself and saying both are the best medic-ninja.
In the French translation, Sakura is speaking about being able to use monster strength, which requires precise chakra control, makes her an excellent kunoichi. However, the only people that can use chakra enhanced strength are herself and Tsunade. In that case, she’s comparing her master and herself and saying both are the best kunoichi.
There’s clearly a clash in both versions, since one of the translators is talking about being a high-class medic-ninja (医療忍, Iryō-nin) and the other is talking about being a high-class kunoichi (くノ一) for being able to use chakra enhanced strength. They speak about completely different roles and also comparing only two people, Sakura and Tsunade.
The English version is talking about being an excellent medic-ninja, so the fan translation is the closest and least ambiguous description about Sakura’s skills. She is the best medic in Konoha.
Naruto chapter 632
Hashirama Senju about Sakura’s strength.
Japanese: なんという怪力…アしは綱以上かもしれんな
English: “What monster strength.. it might be greater than Tsuna’s.”
Here are the official Viz and Mangapanda versions.
In fact, it is true that displaying greater strength than others is signal that a shinobi is a better medic-ninja than others. According to the third databook, chakra enhanced strength is directly linked to medical ninjutsu as a form of even greater control of chakra. This is a feat that only a very limited number of medic-ninja can achieve.
Only two high-skilled medics can perform chakra enhanced strength: Sakura Haruno and Tsunade. For instance, Hashirama mentioning that Sakura shows greater force means she has better chakra control, and, subsequently, she can perform more advanced medical ninjutsu.
This status resulted in Sakura being able to gather her own teams of medic-ninja to missions, as seen in Kakashi Hiden: Lightning in the Frozen Sky by Akira Higashiyama and Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise by Shin Towada.
This recognition earned Sakura the promotion to Head of the Medical Department. She acts as the lead doctor of the Medic Corps, the personnel of Konoha Hospital, as its director, and she also works in the medical office of the Hokage Residence.
She is also seen as the lead medic-ninja throughout the new era, always there to provide care to those people injured. At the same time, Sakura also trains future field medic-ninja in a classroom inside Konoha Hospital.
End.
Author notes:
Despite having several pieces of official media that describe her as the best medic-ninja, Sakura is never given that recognition by Wikis or by fans.
What I’ve noticed while writing this post and gathering information is that people purposefully avoid writing Sakura as “the best medic-ninja” for unknown reasons, either because of hate or jealousy, the true essence of what’s written in Japanese is always mistranslated.
Moreover, the problem might be that the author, Masashi Kishimoto, avoids explicitly describing Sakura as ever surpassing Tsunade in medical ninjutsu. What he does is leave hints with Hashirama Senju, like surpassing Tsunade in strength, which requires chakra control and the stronger the chakra enhanced strength, the best medic-ninja; or with Kakashi Hatake and Chiyo, who voiced that Sakura would end up becoming a better kunoichi than Tsunade. The last two examples are often ignored because people would rather see a direct statement.
It’s also a problem with the difficult access to official Japanese media, especially from the movie, that comes without a verified translation into English or will only be available to Japanese fans. Even so, translated novels that address this condition of Sakura are often considered “filler” or not canon because the author didn’t write it.
However, it’s been more than demonstrated that Sakura Haruno, as early as 17 years old, surpassed Tsunade in medical ninjutsu, became the strongest kunoichi and is now considered the top medic-ninja in Konoha and, subsequently, the world.
