so i guess i have a mother series homestuck au now !! not sure how much ill end up posting and how much will be stuck in google docs purgatory but we'll see!! take these doodles for now :)
(rambling + Slight alternate design under the cut)
(i didnt know if i wanted them to be mirror twins or not so here's this alt)
these are kiiiinda placeholder outfits until they can alchemize their own stuff, i just wanted them to match at least a little bit at first because. twins. i don't think they're twins in the sense that barzum and baizli are (where they're "one mind, two bodies" or however they put it) though i like to think they can maybe communicate telepathically?
no idea what their signs would be yet but i have been sloooowly chipping away at classpecting Everyone. trying to have no dupe classes/aspects is HARD (and also i'm just not the best at classpecting i think) (i've gotten like. 3/12 figured out for sure and that's after thinking about it for a few days)
thank goodness i'm only making the mother 3 group trolls, i wouldn't wanna figure out typing quirks for all of them sdkfhskfhsk
uhhh what else can i talk about hmm. i've got a vague idea of the plot for the mother 1 + earthbound groups but i'm having kinda a rough one figuring out how it connects to the world of mother 3. the porky situation is..... complicated in this au. i think i need to have a better grasp of his character and motives before i can continue brainstorming, which is frustrating but ehh its whatever
that was a longer ramble than i thought i was gonna do!! have a cookie if you made it this far o/🍪!! also, i know i already made a post about it but WOW do the twins look cursed with black hair. combined with the fact i already draw claus pretty off model its hard to see them as the characters they are skdfhsdkfhjfh oh well
#motherstuck#gosh that feels so old school to say#lucas mother 3#claus mother 3#mother series#mother 3#homestuck#mothscribbles#WAITTTTTTTTT I FORGOT MOST GOLDBLOODS HAVE DOUBLE HORNS. OOPS.#its fine its just another logistics thing we'll have to ignore in this au#there will probably be plenty more

Rainstuck 4th and final part of the classpect reasonings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
putting these 4 together bcuz i feel like kurumis and desuhikos analysis dont even deserve their own post bcuz of how unsure i am abt them, halaras too kinda. i also dont have any additional drawings for them so! theres that i guess. more notes in read more if u care...
pt.1 pt.2 pt.3
im kinda bummed that i couldnt rlly incorporate their fortes into the classpects in form of powers bcuz that would make this like 3 times more awesome. buuut it would be so hard to try and make it all work in a way that both their personalities And the powers would make sense for them as characters AND the classpects. so i had to choose and i think matching their personalities was more important. idk
im most happy with vivia. i feel like i could find sth better for halara but honestly i kinda dontttt care for halara that much in general so i probably just dont understand them enough to properly analyze them. desuhiko being heart-bound is nearly perfect if u ask me. maybe i could find a better class for him. kurumi as a heir of space is like... fine. i think i made it work and its enough but again theres probs another classpect that fits her better that i just cant figure out! oh well.
i mentioned grimdark vivia but after refreshing my memory on the horrorterrors i realized that they only communicate with derse dreamers. i could go around it somehow and say that maybe bcuz of his connection to ghosts and shit he could access the outer gods DESPITE not dreaming on derse???? idk, its a bit of a stretch. maybe he could have 2 dream selves! a wink towards his forte? this is homestuck we're talking abt. why should i look for logic here.
another idea for his dream self is that i think it would be fun if he could wake up on prospit pre-session despite not being a space player (tho im not 100% sure thats even canonically a space player thing). "hes just special like that" right. lol but yeah this guy would enjoy prospit i think.. snoozing a lot just like jade and escaping into the perfect peaceful moon world... kurumis there too like "how did he GET here" i dunno im just thinking out loud at this point ermmm

It's very interesting to me, as a newer Homestuck fan, to see all the extensions for the offical-unoffical archives that 'fix'/remove 'problems' or 'problematic' parts of Homestuck. I was on Tumblr when Homestuck was at its peak and reblogged all the cute ship art, follow the outrageous ask blogs, my best friend did read it as it was still coming out¹. But I never actually read the comic itself, just kind waves from the sidelines. But I wasn't there to experience the big controversies in real time (i.e. 'peachy'). Hussie is not above critique, but I don't think he's a bigot or even a bad person. What he is, is a troll. A classic 2006 'I said something fucked up not because I believed it, but to get a reaction.' Which, I can see to someone who missed that time of the internet, and only knows now. In which people say those fucked up things, to get a reaction and cause they believe it.
And so to see people younger than me, but have joined the fandom at the same time as me, not understand this context, it feels wrong. The things people are willing to sweep under the rug cause it conflicts with their morals vs the things they condemn and blame Hussie for.
Homestuck is a very long, very complicated, but very important piece of art. To not consider every facet of it does it a disservice.
For something made by a 2006 troll, it put a lot of queer characters worth caring about in it. The alpha kids & trolls both exist to be parodies of their beta counterparts. This is partly why Dirk is queer, and that Dirk refuses a label. But is still allowed to opening like, then date, then break up with a boy. It's a response to how the fandom wrote & treated Dave. For those who know it, compare the S19Ep6 of South Park, Tweek X Craig. Matt & Trey, who in my opinion embody the same sort of troll sense of humour Hussie has, handle fandom making their characters being gay quite differently. Tweek & Craig in this EP aren't treated as genuinely queer characters, but the kids trapped in what the town has decided are wacky hijinks of this week. It's not necessarily bad, but compared to Dirk it feels way less genuine.
There's topics I can't talk on fully like the way Hussie's racial biases appear in various characters, as I'm from a completely different country. But in my very non-american opinion, it reads more as 'someone who has never thought to question the stereotypes they were raised with', than as someone who is genuinely and actively racist. There is a difference, and as a mixed kid that's important to me.
I'm not really sure how physically disabled people feel about the way Hussie wrote their physically disabled characters (but if people have written about this I'd love to read and linked to me) but he definitely uses mental disabilities/illnesses as a substitute for the word 'quirky' without thinking much about it (i.e. Nepeta is off-handedly called autistic) it's not really great, but the bar is so low when it comes to these things that my tourettic ass cling to Mituna like a lifeline.
Maybe I had a further point here. Maybe my point was just antis in the Homestuck fandom is still weird to me when there's canon incest. Maybe I've drunk a fair bit of vodka while writing this. I have work in the morning. Good night beloved tumblrinas.
¹she gave me classpect and everything, and it's the one I use to this day, despite having a completely different theory on how classpects work. I also joined a cosplay ask blog despite never reading Homestuck (at the time) cos she asked me to (simp) and bought black lipstick to do AMom.

7, 17, 27 and 28 for the writing asks? :3
thank you for asking!
7. What is your deepest joy about writing?
i like the excitement of ideating and making connections between those ideas, seeing the project start to take shape. i like the later stages where i'm polishing what i've got, making sure that the language conveys what i want it to and that the whole thing flows well. enjoying the middle part... is more difficult.
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
Mmmmh. So, Bound in Ink and Iron was initially supposed to be a pretty light affair where i played with fairy tale tropes, but i ended up going into more typical dark fantasy territory because i love that genre so much and i wanted to embrace that. i made a lot of notes and planning about the setting because i wanted to feel like i understood the world, as it was really important for me to accurately capture the outlook of an analytic and self-assured character like dirk. i have way too much to share everything here, but i have extensive notes on the magic system of that world bc i can draw on canon's power system and themes pretty easily. Excerpt of those notes here:
Magic is a force in the world that many people can tap into, but powerful magic is something a select few are born with or are able to wield in a meaningful capacity - Homestuck is a chosen one story in a sense and its world is not fair. Power is something that comes to you with a price. Everyone taps into or channels magic in a different way - the idea of classpects, mechanics and role and character tied together, people can have different affinities in a figurative sense. Characters may prefer certain techniques or materials - magic as an almost artistic medium, but more than that, an expression of self. It is very difficult to try and learn magic 'someone else's way', though its possible to imitate. As POV character Dirk is someone with a relatively scientific, technical approach to magic - he prefers to inscribe patterns, craft objects and follow rituals - and while he has an intuitive ability to sense magic presence, he struggles to wrap his head around or understand forms that are created with methods and approaches unlike his own.
When it comes to fic, i like AUs because i like worldbuilding and trying to imitate and play with different genres and i like having room for original spins on stuff. i do like minutiae, even if much of it never makes it into the story or is disregarded as the plot demands. i'm a major perfectionist and if i'm too precious about it it can be counterproductive in the long run, you know? if it was an original work i would be more thorough, i think, but this is fanfiction and i want to get to the finish line more than i need to make my most perfect magnum opus.
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
jake is stressful because i feel like it's very easy to mischaracterise him in fanwork, but i worry about writing jane the most. i have feelings about her handling in canon and post canon, and would find a different outcome vastly preferable, but i also don't want to reject canon or erase her complexities from her completely!
i also generally stress about characters that are secondary or tertiary in my fics because i feel like i've not given them the same consideration i would the characters at the center of the work? sometimes the main focus necessitates putting the incidental characters in a less than optimal position in the work, and i don't really like feeling like i'm not doing them justice.
28. Who is the most delightful character you’ve ever written? Why?
i have a lot of fun with jake, despite aforementioned concerns! i like the character a lot and i'm told it shows. he is delightful, to me.
#i actually think the most delightful characters i've written are just some ocs i'm very fond of but this is my hs blog so#ask meme#sorry if this is rambly

Its time for a little something I like to call “William Needs to Come Up with Ideas so he Talks to Himself”
The topic of today is
I have a little logo and everything, it’s hysterical.
I know that a number of people have made homestuck ttrpg adaptions, and I’ve read a lot about one called Tablestuck, if I recall correctly. They’re super neat and all the little things that they have are super cool! HOWEVER! The thing about Tablestuck is how many RULES there are.
Like holy shit. There’s SO MUCH. SO MANY THINGS. Every cannon grist type that has a name is listed. There’s a WORKING ALCHEMY SYSTEM and theres like SIX MILLION TYPES OF DAMAGE!!! That’s cool and all. However.
I am a fucking todler in the world of TTRPGs. I’m so very new to them. I’ve never ran a campaign. I’ve been in some, though!
So, the issues that I am facing; 1) The existing system is TOO hard. 2) The game should be enjoyable for people who aren’t huge homestuck fans
The solution? Resort to much more personalized, abstract, and interpretive concepts.
There’s so much about homestuck that I can’t like, sit here and be like “okay you’re a void player so at X level you get x many hp and get these traits” like you do in other systems, because Classpects are so diverse and personal. And you know how you fix that issue? You don’t!
For each character, we are going to discuss exactly what we want out of level ups, which decides what Fraymotifs (i think thats the right term. if its not, i dont care) they get! Things that will fit their character AND be useful to them. It’s personalized!!!!!!
Another thing about Homestuck that was carried over into tablestuck that i couldn’t work with was how lonely it was. Everyone was separated, there wasn’t much of a party. That’s a theme of Homestuck. HOWEVER! That is NOT something I can deal with, and it wasn’t something my players enjoyed. Solution??? Put em all together.
It really doesn’t matter how, I suppose. It’s like any other campaign, find a way to get them all in one spot, baybie!!!
But like. What about the character sheet? It went through a few iterations, honestly. But I’m settling on something more like this!
Its so pretty! and it’s a google doc!!! look at it!!! I’m so in love. The thought for the stats was that we have four, maybe five. They’re called HARDER BETTER FASTER STRONGER as an obvious reference. It was a remnant of our first concept. However, these WILL be changed in the near future, since they overlap way too much to make sense. A fun thought is that all the stats are very general, so you get to make your case to the DM about which one to use for a roll. I feel like I’m gonna use some sort of dice scaling, but yeah! Not sure. And, under the categories, people get like, special skills to roll more on!
#I think its super cool and my friends are excited for it#I'm also really loving all the ideas my players are coming up with and im so glad to like keep working with them to make the story better#so many threads#William Needs to Come Up with Ideas so he Talks to Himself#hehehe im gonna keep using that#Homestuck: the TTRPG#ttrpg homebrew#Homestuck

i never really explained this post but um here is the explanation
so assuming u don’t know what classpects are: they are, to put it simply, classpects represent a character’s traits, personality and story arc which in turn determine their “god tier” powers. they are broken down into classes and aspects. (Ex. Aspect of Class)
now since i wanna keep this sorta accessible for people who haven’t read homestuck, I will be straying away from the whole power portion of Classpects and specifically talk about the symbolism and what about their characters made me choose their claspect.
Connor - Heir of Rage
Heirs are the ‘passive’ half of the manipulation class, meaning they Invite manipulation of/through their class. This isn’t really important.
To put it more in layman’s terms, heirs are less controllers of their aspect and are more controlled by it. Sure, they may have some grasp— but ultimately, their challenge is to learn to control their aspect else be subject to it’s whims.
Rage is… um… well… take a wild guess.
Okay, that’s a bit unfair. Rage symbolises rage, however it also symbolises skepticism, fear and doubt— which what we see from Connor, makes sense. He doesn’t really trust people, and tends to assume people are out to fuck with him.
So, as a heir of rage, he is subject to the whims of rage. It radiates off him, poisoning those around him, and he is also subject to other people’s rage— other people’s fears and doubts.
Evan - Mage of Void
Okay, so I don’t REALLY agree with this headcanon anymore. I think bard of life works a bit more for evan— however i’ll still explain my thought process here.
Mages are the active knowledge class. There’s alot of disagreement on what exactly their challenge/struggle is— but to me, they know their aspect through actually living through it. They experience all of it— with a tendency towards the bad parts of it. They suffer through their aspect, which grants them unique knowledge of it.
Void symbolises the unknown, secrets, lies, absence, unluckiness and what is not. The antithesis of light.
So— Evan, as a Mage of Void, suffers from void. He suffers from being unknown, being pushed to the sidelines— which gives him unique knowledge on how to live. “Step out of the sun if you keep getting burnt.”
He also suffers not from things he has, but from what he doesn’t have— or at least what he thinks he doesn’t have. He doesn’t have much friends, he doesn’t get to see his mom much, he doesn’t have much confidence, yadda yadda.
a lil treebros thingie ft my classpect hcs for them ^w^

Could you list out everyone’s godtier and explanation? (Godtier because i can only remember knight/heir/rogue outfits) and explanation because I’m curious and I love your au!
sure!!! sorry this took so long to type out, watch out tho, this is gonna be long!
Mob:
For Mob, I gave him a Rogue of Hope! Reasons being... well:
Rogues have trouble embracing their aspect, in this case, being Hope. Hope is the belief that anything is possible and that positivity is the solution to many things, to embrace belief in yourself and your potential as well as accepting positivity from others. HE IS NOT A MASTER CLASS, which i know seems to be a popular class to give him, despite his power, and my reason for that is because giving his a master class such as Muse or even a potentially OP one such as Page, kind of destroys the point of MP100′s message of "nobody is special" and "because no one is special, your life is your own". I gave him a classpect to help him grow, not emphasize his power. He is given a class to help him overcome his lack of Hope (as well as to create a balance between the idea of positive and negative emotions.) and given the class of Rogue, he has trouble believing in himself, but has no problem motivating others. He is the IDEA of hope, (with many character citing their changes because of him in canon) but struggles accepting his own potential. In canon he is so quick to forgive and believe in the change of so many people, but refuses to forgive and believe in his own change in himself.) Hope players have strong convictions, and very strong sense to do what is right. That’s not to say Hope is just nice and healing, Hope is the opposite of Rage, and isn't entirely a good thing, combined with the often black-and-white views Hope players have, if their belief is strong enough they can cause destruction if they feel it is right. Hope is the IDEA of positivity, Mob would need to realize positivity can not solve everything, and learn to allow himself to feel negative emotions, and distribute this hope to everyone else, but not blindly. Mob still has his ESP, and is whenever he is prone to exploding, his aspect begins to mirror Rage.
Ritsu:
Ritsu is a Prince of Mind!
First off, we know Ritsu is intelligent. As a Mind player, they focus on rationality, not the impersonal. Mind deals a lot with decisions, paths, and the consequences that follow. Because of all the potential paths decisions can make, Mind players are often burdened with the responsibility of choosing the “correct” answer. Mind players do not have all the answers, and this can lead to overwhelming these players with all the potential repercussions these choices can make. Ritsu has, from the beginning after the incident with his brother, shoved down his sense of self, and built a sort of goody-two-shoes, reliable brother act. He did this to keep his brother stress-free, to avoid the danger his brother could become and bring out. He made this decision at the expense of his own identity, his own emotions and feelings. So in a way, he destroyed his “self” with a decision (tying into his classpect. Princes are destroyers, either destroying with their aspect, or destroying their aspect. In this case, he destroyed WITH his aspect, with his decision). Mind is also the opposite of Heart, and because of this, Mind players have the tendency to, where Heart players are overtly concerned with their Self, Mind players concern themselves the least with their Self. Princes are stubborn, teetering on the edge of control and chaos, and often destroy their own aspect within themselves. While that sounds awful, the way I apply it to is that, the aspect has to be taken into account! So, Ritsu would destroy his own decisions within himself in order to come up with better ones, and at his worst moments, be void of any decisions so he is forced to act impulsively. For Ritsu, his challenge as a Prince of Mind would be to not let himself be destroyed by his decisions, and lack of decisions, and allow himself to rebuild his sense of self while realizing that rationality and self go hand in hand.
Tome:
Naturally, Tome’s a Space player! A Thief of Space! I went more into depth to why she’s a Space player tho besides.... she likes space (a lot also just being my interpretations.....)
Thieves are well-intentioned, and eccentric, and unlike Rogues, they have confidence in their aspect and hide away their insecurities to avoid looking weak. Tome is shown to be outlandish and loud, making her presence known (taking up as much Space as possible). Space players see things as a whole, not overly concerned with details and mostly go along with the ride. In her canon appearances, Tome is mostly seen lazing around and taking things as they come, and her fascination with space and aliens (as well as telepathy) take up most of her interest space, often becoming overbearing when she talks about her interests. She also uses her creativity, a Space player trait, to get herself out of situations, her eccentricity creating a more believable layer to this (much like how Reigen's sincerity and genuity adds dimension to his advice). Her confidence in her aspect hides her insecurity of wasting time and never pursuing her passion, mirroring in canon where she drops her interest in finding telepaths to focus on her schoolwork. While Tome would use most of her fascination of space to gather knowledge of how to game works for herself (especially anything to do with the trolls since they are aliens she's interested about learning, and her own role to breed the universe frog), her challenge is to use her creative solutions to help further progress in the session, as well as helping others.
Reigen:
A Heir of Blood!
The Blood aspect deals with bonds, leadership, and trust. Reigen, by all accounts, is not a commanding leader, but an inspirational one instead. Considering his class, Heir, they often end up in their roles either naturally or it finds them, and with Reigen, I’d definitely say the role of an inspirational leader both found and gravitated to him. While Reigen isn’t particularly seen as a leader (we know he’s either clueless to danger sometimes, because let’s be real, he’s out of his league dealing with supernatural stuff but does his best to manage, and calls his shots based on whether he knows he can deal with it or not), he also is very reliable and grounded, as a Blood player should be. Blood players offer sound advice as well, but that’s not to say Reigen is completely put together himself though! We see Reigen fall apart briefly before putting himself back together when Mob leaves him to his own devices, unaware of the effect Mob’s presence gives to him, mirroring how Reigen’s presence had an effect on Mob’s when Mob first sought him out, and all the advice Reigen has given Mob as well as others. Most Blood players have messy impersonal relationships, think about how Reigen deals with his mother, and how he seems to struggle with and have a lack of relationships outside of work. Blood players also are very “do as I say, not as I do” types, and charismatic, which I think fits Reigen perfectly! Heirs invite manipulation to their aspect, and invite manipulation through their aspect. Reigen would be able to encourage change in bonds and alliances as well as cause change due to bonds and alliances (a good example would be how the former Scar members came to Reigen for leadership).
Tsubomi:
A Witch of Time! most of this is my own interpretation of her character and a callback to her incredibly passive role in canon so i gave her an active one!
So!!! Time players, above all, value action over passiveness. Time is always moving forward, its players would do the same, not wanting to idle and do nothing. Since Tsubomi is an Heiress as a fuschia, she has long accepted her role and fate, knowing there would be a time she would have to face the current Empress, and lose. She cultivates a likeable persona, not much out of her own desire but to increase her chances of survival. Like in canon, this fits how Tsubomi had to keep up her “idol” personal up at all times, and if she slipped, she knew she would be an easy target due to her popularity (such as that time she had sneezed and needed a napkin). Fuschia Tsubomi figured if she was adored and well-liked by most of the population, she could turn the tides in the society and rebel, or at the very least, obtain enough help. She plays her “idol Heiress” role to the T, passive and agreeable, and most of it involves keeping herself out of trouble, despite all the death and injustice surrounding her and the society. Tsubomi would definitely be eager to leave her stuffy persona, and longs to take action and take things into her own hands, take charge of her own fate. Basically, not wanting to “sit and look pretty”. Time players are also goal-oriented, and her keeping her eye on the end to the moment she can finally act is true to this. Witches are breakers and manipulators of their aspects. Time is a constricting, never-ending flow and for a Witch of Time, breaking the flow and breaking from the flow, manipulating it as one wants, as Tsubomi would view it due to her having been stuck in her role as Heiress, freeing.
Shou:
A Mage of Void!
Void is all about secrets, holding them or discovering them. It’s all about the potential the void, “nothing”, seems to have, and how something can be built from nothing. Void players are mysterious themselves, their minds and thoughts processes hard to grasp, like their aspect itself. They prefer to exist on their own. From his first canon appearance, very little information is presented about Shou, and while he isn’t necessarily keeping his role a secret, he wasn’t really telling anyone about it either. He comes and goes, silent as a shadow, observant and keeping to himself until he reveals his presence. Void players cast doubt into what is already considered known, and refuse to bow to intellectual authority, especially when they believe something better can be built rather than what the authority claims. Having been raised by his ancestor, Touichirou, Shou is entirely aware of his plans of domination, having gathered this through poking around in the shadows for answers. His refusal to use Touchirou’s same blood color is both an act of rebellion as well as concealing his connection to him by using an orange color instead, effectively hiding himself from his ancestor. Mages understand their aspect and gain understanding with it. Shou was able to gather intellect due to his connection with horrorterrors and from using his caste abilities (he’s a blueblood after all, but not mind control like Vriska, more like making the mind believe things, a sort of illusion, and uses it to conceal his presence, “voiding” himself from reality). Mages also experience their aspect personally. Because he is a Mage of Void, Shou could suffer an overwhelming sense of loneliness, as well as the responsibility Shou burdens himself with of defeating and stopping Touichirou, could potentially cause a backlash to him if he fails to heed warnings and act on his knowledge (think of how Sollux, a Mage of Doom, failed to listen to warnings of doom, suffered a backlash of the death of his friends as well as his eyesight). Shou’s challenge is to open his mind to different perspectives rather than relying on his own knowledge.
Teru:
A Knight of Heart! (nothing new, just copy-pasted from that other post, figured i’d add it here to have them all together)
Heart deals a lot of with identity. A heart player would concern themselves with their identity and can become a bit self-absorbed bc of it, but it doesn’t have to be a in bad way, they just think everyone else think about their own identity like they do. So they’re very self aware. Teru from the beginning is very self-aware of who he is, and who he wants to be. even when he has his change from “protagonist” to “support character”, Teru still shows his self-absorbed nature but again, he just puts a lot of thought into his identity and grows from being aware of his own self. early on, Teru’s issues stem from forming his identity around how people view him, and we see how much it affects him in canon when mob tears down his perfect bubble he built for himself, and feels as if his identity was taken away. and because i placed him lower on the hemospectrum (he’s a goldblood), he also tries to make himself seem as special as he can, and mirrors the attitude of those higher on the caste system, and his thought process goes like this: im special because of my identity i worked hard to build up. troll teru is also very hung up on the quadrants, again, viewing it as a way to build his identity and solidify his place as Special. his class, Knight, ties into this because really, teru uses his identity as a facade. we see both dave and karkat (as well as latula) hide behind a facade, SHIELDING their “true selves” behind it (bc… knights and shields lol). Knights hide behind their aspect to hide their fears of failure, which i think fits Teru, again, when Mob breaks down his facade, bluntly telling him Teru is just like him. The challenge for Teru as as Knight would be to accept his skills as they are and not allow himself to be chained to his previous identity.
#ask thingy#mobstuck#not sure if i made much sense but here are their classpects!#if u read all of this... kudos to u#Anonymous

To distract me from my recent finished gopher project and my sadness at it becoming instantly obsolete, I'm going to write about some classpect things.
The recent thing that got me was the acknowledgement in AdventureSimWest that Wanda is a Lord of Space. This feels obvious in her powers, her control over space, but it doesn't feel like she would be that classpect ideologically.
Like, in Homestuck proper, characters with supernatural powers aren't classified by those powers, but by their character. Vriska has cerulean mind control powers, but that doesn't make her, like, a Witch of Mind or something.
And Wanda ideologically feels so much like a void player. Her whole thing is obfuscation: she will not explain things, she abhors the orderliness and sense of the fastpass system, and she turns every place she is in into a maze.
This feels in contrast to her time as Wodin and the Wanderer, where they were in the soul consuming pursuit of knowledge. The flip, though, is still along the Light-Void duality, so it could either be an inversion, or a switch of a destruction class from destroying their aspect to destroying with their aspect.
The only space class I can maybe see her being would be a Thief of Space, with Wanda's tendency to use her knowledge of media properties that have yet to be made to create them ahead of time, stealing the creativity from under the companies. But that element doesn't feel as core to her character as her desire to hide or not reveal info.
Anyway, that's the main thing I wanted to talk about, but below the readmore I'll be rambling about the classpects of other characters because I can.
Just a fair warning, I'll probably talk more about aspects as I feel I have a grip on them better, while the divided takes on the classes in the community makes me feel like I would need to know more about this work's specific interpretation of at least the pairs and verbs to really be able to work with them.
Turner, the Intern, is who I will ramble about first. And to me, he seems like he would be a blood player. It's hard to articulate, but he feels driven by the bonds he made with people. When Wodin died, he pursued choices that he otherwise wouldn't have in remembrance of that bond. There's probably more to say, because I feel like there is some blood like aspects to how he befriended different members of the Eyedol crew and how his presence grounds the group, but yeah. He vibes Blood.
But there's a lot of character's I'm not sure about and I think the problem with me interpreting a lot of characters in Zampaniosim is most of them feel tethered to the Light-Void duo of Knowledge and Obfuscation.
Like, I had a theory in homestuck in that every universe has somewhere a Lord-Muse of Dual Aspects and that informs the kind of values, motifs, story things etcetera of that universe. And applying that here, it feels like there's a strong compulsion of Light-Void that permeates everything.
If I had to give this vague concept the classpects, I'd say it's permeated by a Muse of Light and a Lord of Void, the underlying compulsion and desire for knowledge vs the external forcing of obfuscation through censoring powers like Vik and Naga.
So characters like Camille and Ria who seem so invested in their own gathering of information are really pushing me to want to classpect them in that context. But canonically Ria is a Witch of Hope and Camille a Knight of Doom. Really, a lot of the lobotomy corps characters are hard to classify for me. Devona and Neville are perfec for their classpects, but that could be because I heard it explained clearly in the youtube let's play of South.
Other canon classpects from the Codex of Ruin are: Witherby Sylph of Hope, Yongki Mage of Mind, K Thief of Light (perfect assignment), Parker Thief of Space, Closer Witch of Breath, and CFO Waste of Blood. For some of these I maybe vaguely see, others I don't know enough on them to really counter. And then the CFO is a Waste, which feels like it should be super relevant.
Anyway, last characters I'll briefly classpect are Peewee's children.
Melon. My immediate vibe on it is Prince of Life. It feels like with his focus on the environment it wouldn't be like this, but often in pursuit of helping the environment he ends up destroying it (wonder what the emissions are like on those explosives, hmm?)
Rebel. Going to be weird to say, but he vibes Blood. His anger at Peewee feels very much rooted in the bond between them Peewee has shirked. But I think this might be my limited perspective on the guy; he doesn't seem to value his bond with his brothers. Maybe it's the slight Karkat vibes he gives off that's making me classpect him Blood, idk.
Rod feels, hmm. Maybe mind. I feel like I actually need to reread adventure sim west to get a better grip on this because he has the most potential of being deciphered for me given how much he's been in the story, but I can't really pull anything specific right now.
Yeah, Classpecting is not something I'm used to doing, despite my love of it. I'm usually reading other people's classpecting stuff. And being in a property actively using the homestuck classpect system makes me feel the need to know how the work is interpreting it for me to be able to utilize it for analysis more.

FUCK IT, DREAM SMP HOMESTUCK AU
but it's only half shitposts and there are actual Thoughts in there.
You don't need to have read the comic to understand because I tried not to spoil anything major, but it'd help if you knew basic stuff about classpects, SBURB and the hemospectrum.
disclaimer: i'm not a good pixel artist and this is my first actual sprites ever so please be kind to my weird pixels
The Kids:
Tommy
Fundy
Techno
Tubbo
tommy, tubbo and fundy one of the kids because they're the kids in dream smp canon (with fundy being son of wilbur)
techno's there because i want to make a dave strider reference (haha get it because techno's name is also da-- *gets shot) and also because they are both coolguys except instead of using irony, techno has adhd
The Trolls:
Wilbur Soohte (fuschia)
?????? Ehrret (violet)
J????? Shlatt (purple)
Nihacu Niikki (indigo)
Skeppy Diamon (cerulean)
Quacki Tthiey (teal)
Philza Myncra (jade)
Dreame Wastkn (lime disguising as olive)
George Notfou (gold)
Sapphe Nahfpe (bronze)
Badboy Haelow (burgundy)
don't come at me saying only females are allowed to be jades and fuschias; gender is fake and this is an au
more of the AU and the talksprites are under the cut:
Tommy
Lunar sway: Derse. Types in: Red
chaotic. the first person to be introduced.
when he gets introduced instead of the “Zoosmell Pooplord” bit, Tommy is initially going to be the name inputted but then backspaced it and decided that Tommyinnit was better and he was fuming until he’s named Tommy.
Gives me big Blood/Hope vibes. Blood because a lot of the conflict of the dream smp connected to someone breaking his trust or harming the things he cares about, Hope because a lot of the plot of the dream smp stems from Tommy starting shit based on his ideals and what he thinks is right.
the first to instigate fighting against the trolls
bbh contacts him once and tommy keeps cursing until he disconnects from frustration rip
wields Gunkind and his only strife weapon at the beginning is the Vlog gun. He has Gunkind as his strife specibus mainly because he looked up at schlatt and he imitates him.
Fundy
Lunar sway: Prospit. Types in: Orange
it was his idea to play SBURB but only through Dream.
he talks to dream the most among the other trolls fwt stans getcha juice this is the rosemary of the session
dream’s the one giving him exposition about the game so that’s how he knows how to play SBURB.
wilbur trolls fundy once and instantly adopts him.
“You’re my son.” “How does that even work??” “I was one of the people who created your universe. It’s basically the same thing.”
Fundy relents anyway.
Techno
Lunar sway: Derse. Types in: Pink
dave strider but dead-inside voice + rose lalonde english major vibes
he slices the text box when you try to name him "Dave " like in
techno gives me time player vibes (contantly on the move. his skyblock series, his “stays in the pit” monologue,) but also rage vibes (anarchy, the “theseus” monologue, political alignment is Chaos) alas i am not sure what class
uses Tridentkind and claims "it came from god"
it was dream, he accidentally transportalized one of wilbur’s weapon while he testing the transportalizer.
Tubbo
Lunar sway: Prospit. Types in: Green
the jade harley of this session. the only thing keeping them from going apeshit. where would they be without him.
but also jade harley in a sense that he seems nice and wholesome but also don’t fuck with them they can mess you up
Heart/Life vibes??? someone good at classpecting help
i put them in prospit bc of the "tubbo third eye" instead of tubbo having a sixth sense or smth, they see the future from the clouds of skaia when they sleep
wields Stress-relieverKind at some point
bonus: everyone’s actual hair colors
Ideas about the Trolls
no i haven’t done their sprites yet bc it would take so much time and i’m not even sure if people wanna see more of this au skjdkdsakdfkl,, but i have Design Ideas.
events of the dsmp revolution are just a FLARP session drawing parallels to how the homestuck trolls had a FLARP session that spoiler alert: destroyed friendships. dtrio, eret, will are involved. eret betrays will's faction and wilbur's still Bitter over that.
on the context of alternia (highbloods and lowbloods) lmanburg and dreamsmp have their roles SWAPPED. the emancipation theme thing is completely gone since highbloods are in more power than the lowbloods (the dream team) .
wilbur made a faction called l’manburg because he wants a place where he and his fellow highbloods could make drugs vibe.they take a piece of land that was owned by the dream team. in normal circumstances, they shouldve stood down because lowbloods aren't supposed to start shit with highbloods (especially a group of highbloods that has the alternian heir among them) but dream turned it into an activism thing about lowblood rights. the story plays as close as possible without tommy or tubbo in it (which is pretty hard ik but this is the best can do).
like in the dreamsmp revolution, dream kinda let wilbur do what he wants but this time he has more reason to because he’s in a lower caste. dream really only fought back when wilbur announced that he’d be building lmanburg on their land and calling it theirs.
eret betrays wilbur by supporting the lowbloods and wilbur and co. technically won but only because he finally called the drones in, as a reference to how lmanburg absolutely got crushed by the dream team in the smp but technically won. l’manburg keeps the piece of land and the dream team scatter away to find a new home.
wilbur soot's a fuschia because a) he's in a position that has a lot of power, b) yknow how he wrote a song about squids and his thing with sally… yeah.
eret's a violet because nobility!! dream looks down on him because he's ambivalent on fighting for lowblood rights when he's in a power to do so "you just sit there, and you look pretty that's it"
also like eridan he has a minor aesthetic mutation (herobrine eyes) that won't classify him as a mutant.
jschlatt is purple because it makes sense thematically because of the gamzee parallels (a. substance abuse b. if you know what happens in act 6, you know this already but spoiler alert, he ruins the main protagonists' lives) also he's a funnyman he deserves the clown caste
quackity's a teal because he’s a law student. moving on--
ok but for real it also makes sense thematically because he's the one who wrote the thing that tricked schlatt into agreeing also he gets manipulated by schlatt which also draws parallels to certain events in the comic
skeppy and bbh are BEST FRIENDS despite being highblood and lowblood respectively. initially, skeppy just wanted to bother bbh but they grew to be good friends in time. y’know like how they actually becane friends :D
philza minecraft is a jade because dad friend. also works thematically, because spoiler alert he gets to murder a seadweller for going batshit crazy.
he also god tiers early. he dies fighting his quick undead denizen (haha baby zombie) but the consorts of his land carry him to his quest bed because he’s treated them all so well.
dream was initially going to be another caste but then i realized that means i have to make his hoodie something other than green which is unacceptable so its a good thing the fact that he's a lime works out
dream was the one who thought of playing sgrub in the first place- initially only planned to have gogy, sap, and bbh in the session but then realized that they four won't be enough so he invited more into his session
he’s also the first to go godtier ez clap blind speedrun not sure what classpect tho
the only reason why dream avoided being culled at birth for being a limeblood is because his rng is That Good. he quickly picked up the fact that he’s not supposed to exist and masqueraded as an oliveblood and kept mostly to himself to avoid suspicion.
george is still colorblind but he has lazer eyes along with it instead. dream lives with him in the same hive since being a mutant means dream doesn’t get a lusus of his own (dnf fans getcha juice “and they were roommates”)
despite living in the same hive, he never really figures out that dream is a limeblood. possibly because a) he’s colorblind and when he sees dream bleeding he just sees yellow b) he’s just that fucking oblivious and it’s so valid of him.
sapnap’s a bronzeblood mainly because i know he’s the instigator of the pet war with tommy also because i associate him with the color orang in my mind so bronze it is
that’s the end of this long-ass post!! if you have other ideas PLEASE i want to hear them. i don’t know the other streamers i mentioned in here very well so if you have ideas that would be fitting to them like with classpect or lunar sway that would be GREAT.
the only thing i’m confident about in here are the kids’ lunar sways. i’m not an expert in classpects and homestuck lore so there’s that too!! i just wanted to make this post because adhd means that the idea wouldn’t shut up until i finished it. This initially started as a single shitpost edit of tommyinnit talksprite but then the hiveswap 2 trailer came out and that means i have to combine my two hyperfixations.
also i have ideas about potential quadrants but idk how much of that is breaking some streamers’ boundaries about shipping (even the non romantic quads such as kismesistude, morallegiance and auspisticism) so i decided not to include it.
edit: apparently people want more so i made a discord server as a place to brainstorm!! please pm me to join!

homestuck?
SEND ME A FANDOM and I'll tell you
(First off, HS 2 does not factor into this, I have read absolutely none of it nor the epilogues because I have heard about the crisis that are those and I do treasure some of my sanity)
The first character I first fell in love with:
Super basic but you know it true, John Egbert. He's literally just a kid and that is really really good, and he was this sense of normality while most everyone else was sort of insufferable.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
Equius, honestly. Going through the main series itself, I didn't have any strong feelings one way or another about him in particular other than he was fucking WEIRD. But Pesterquest, oh my god Pesterquest. It made me honestly really like him a lot more.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t:
I can't actually say since I wasn't around during the peak regarding who was popular, buttttttttt... I'll go with probably the Dancestors as a whole? Like I don't know their popularity of anything but I figure people who love lore really like them, but they don't really stick out to me?
The character I love that everyone else hates:
Fucking Eridan. He's so weird in like a pathetic step-blorbo way. It's def because a friend likes him so so so much, but also like his Pesterquest is really fucking weird, also the music. IT'S WOBBLY!
The character I used to love but don’t any longer:
I really like the Mayor. The Mayor is also just... there.
The character I would totally smooch:
ngl, Vriska. There's like no logic here except that shes fucked up and I do enjoy my fucked up characters a bit. Smth smth, surely the mentally ill kiss better /lh (legit answer is no, but if i could give characters HUGS)
The character I’d want to be like:
I've had multiple people assign me both Dave and Karkat, but at this point, since they forced me to also take a classpect, it's just Dave...
Assigned Dave kin by your own family.
The character I’d slap:
*Bro*. Go read Dave's pesterquest route and see what he did, you'll know why. End statement.
A pairing that I love:
Not gonna lie! JohnDave is really good. I probably see it the most, so thats where my bias lies, but like the energy is so good and also pesterquest pushes it for perhaps the funniest chapter I saw.
Eridan and Sollux tho simply because of the <3< energy tho...
A pairing that I despise:
Eridan and Feferi. Just don't particularly care for their dynamic, it's... mmm not a squick, but also not unhealthy in the way that I think is interesting enough for me to care.
#inbox meme#homestuck#i got into it late lol i literally only read it because a friend got me into it and now it maybe became a small part of my personality#@ kawaiijohn im gonna come for ur ass one day

ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I POSTED, GAMERS. SORRY FOR YELLING IM VERY EXCITED ABOUT SHARING THIS. So, my homestuck hyperfixation has definitely died down, but it will always hold a place in my heart even if i try very hard to kick it out.
my new hyperfixation is Stray (2022). anyone heard of that? everyone who wasnt born yesterday mustve heard of it at least once.
well, im thinking of merging those two today. Thats right, YOUR CAT GAME, TURNED HOMESTUCK. enough of the rambles though. lets get into it.
So people may ask, soda what the fuck, how will you do that. well. buddy. im not gonna make robot versions of the trolls, it would be fun but... no. neither will i go the other way around, though that would also be fun. I only assigned the outsiders some classpects. i've never done that before except for simple friendly inside jokes, but here i go.
First off, i gave them extended zodiac signs, because it definetely helps with classpecting in my opinion and also its fun to analyze. for Clementine, i got Arist.
Sign of the headstrong. Rust, prospit, time-bound.
anyways, the way i classpect is usually reading about the different aspects, and then make class the second thing i decide.
I used the elimination method for the classes; do they steal (aspect)? do they destroy it?
I also go with the secondary things, for example princes lacking their aspect.
Adding onto that, Clementine, arguably, lacks of time, because she is on the run from Sentinels.
I also don't care about genders assigned to classes, mostly because I'm not a huge fan of it, but also because They're robots.
Conclusion; Clementine is the prince of time.
Okay? okay. thats one obligatory aspect out of the way. next we have Momo.
For Momo, figuring out the sign was a bit hard, but thats not very important. He'd be a Piga.
Sign of the designer. Fuchsia, derse, space-bound.
This one was a bit difficult, and i ended up giving him a not so well known class, which means most of this is from speculation.
Heir.
I went off the definition 'one who receives (aspect)' and you might know where I'm going with this.
Clem and Zbalt leave to midtown and ant village respectively. Doc goes out to test the defluxor. Momo is given lots and lots of space, despite never asking for any.
Need i say more?
Conclusion; Momo is the heir of space.
Next is a character, that I don't really know that much about. So this one is a bit tricky and not as good and thought out.
Zbaltazar. He'd be a Sagira.
Sign of the tenable. Indigo, prospit, mind-bound.
I was absolutely obsessed with making zbalt mind-bound, you dont even know.
I don't really have much to say. He'd be a page, i think. Creator of mind. Because his whole thing in the game is meditating, it seems. feel free to prove me wrong?
Conclusion; Zbaltazar is the page of mind.
AGAIN I DO NOT KNOW THIS CHARACTER WELL, SO DONT EXPECT IT TO BE SUPER ACCURATE
anyways, on to Doc. the one i had the most fun classpecting :-)
He'd be a Virpia. Jade mostly because of the caretaking tendencies, don't judge me for that okay...
Sign of the perfectionist. Jade, derse, light-bound.
I'm proud of myself for this one. Light fits Doc both in the aspect sense, because of knowledge, and because he made the Defluxor.
On that note, he'd definitely be a knight. Serves through light. He used his knowledge to make a weapon against the zurks, which was super important for him to come back home and also for the kitty to safely make it through the sewers.
It also occurred to me that, if we take the speculations as a fact, and knights serve what there is little of in their session, it fits as well. The walled city is full of neons, but no natural light. as for knowledge, im not sure if it also fits that rule, but it could. Also when i say session generally its BEFORE the session there wouldn't be a lotta light, (meteors would kinda destroy the fucking walls and shit) but either way.
conclusion; Doc is the knight of light
so lets repeat all of that
clementine, prince of time momo, heir of space zbaltazar, page of mind doc, knight of light
feel free to add your own opinions if youre in both fandoms.
this was a fun one time thing, haha. hope you enjoyed reading it at the very least :)
#hstuck#soda talks#homestuck#stray game#stray clementine#stray momo#stray zbaltazar#stray doc#idk what else lol#classpects#didnt proof read this. oof. anywyas#i made a joke then ended up spending hours researching things. lol!#what a nice end to my homestuck hyperfixation

Undertale Multiverse Classpects Part 1/??
It’s inevitable once I get super into something that I do this.
I will most likely do more characters but for now I started with just some of the biggest characters of the multiverse/underverse specifically.
Explanations will be under the cut. Long, long, explanations. (Almost 3k words!)
Error: Bard of Time Ink: Rogue of Space Nightmare: Knight of Doom Dream: Page of Life Cross: Witch of Blood XChara: Prince of Heart XGaster: Thief of Light
Most of this was done using the theories of 0pacfica, whose amazing classpect theory posts can be found on Ao3 here:
https://archiveofourown.org/series/1960270
Though this was also cross referenced with bladekindeyewear’s older theories (particularly on the roles of the classes and active/passive pairs) and a sprinkling of the extended zodiac.
So this is another classpect where it’s actually easier to do in pairs for a lot of the characters due to how intertwined they are.
Error: Bard of Time
Ink: Rogue of Space
When starting with these two, it really was a giant debate between me and my friends about whether Ink and Error were time and space or hope and rage. It was very hard to move away from Hope/Rage when it represents unchecked creation and destruction which...is pretty much the entire backbone of underverse, but after lots of back and forth we found Time and Space fit better overall.
It’s useful to think of Space as Beginnings and Time as Endings. Ultimately what Ink does is facilitate a bunch of new beginnings. Ink is also all about the growth of the multiverse, which is the closest analogue we really have to Skaia. Hope may be creation, but it is creation as counter to the greater narrative, and often counter to Skaia and the reproduction of the universe. On the flip side, Rage, while being destruction, is generally destruction of anything non-fundamental. Error, by contrast, does not care what is being destroyed. His goal is ultimately the end to the multiverse itself; the end of the narrative. Time and Space are also the main building blocks of the universe and without them sessions become void. Ink and Error ultimately represent the core of the multiverse and are also key in most of the big multiverse spanning stories. As well, there’s really no escaping how similar Error and Caliborn act in both personality and actions.
Finally, looking at the extended zodiac, even their personalities fit decently well, though mostly Ink and Space. While classpect is actually much more about narrative arcs and roles than personalities, it’s still useful to look at the most personality based descriptions of the extended zodiac. Space has the description ‘They are patient, masters of the art of 'wait-and-see', and are inclined to take things as they come. That isn't to say that they're pushovers or willing to let injustice lie-they just choose their battles wisely, understanding that sometimes you have to let something burn to the ground in order to build it back better and stronger than before. To this effect, they tend to be innovators, concerned with creation and redemption.‘ and if that doesn’t describe Ink in underverse at least, then nothing else does. Time is a little less fitting personality wise for Error, but these few bits are pertinent: ‘Their lives are often marked by struggle, not so much because fate has it in for them, but because they are fundamentally incapable of just accepting things as they come.’ ‘At their worst they are ruthless, defensive, and impulsive.‘
So now that Aspect is out of the way, I can explain classes. Let’s start with the easy one first. There’s no way we could have Error as anything other than a destroyer class, so Bard or Prince had to be one of the titles. Then from there it comes down to whether Error is active or passive. While it may be easy to say ‘well he actively destroys things’ it’s useful to remember someone's powers can look very similar even if active or passive. My go to for this is Roxy who despite being a passive void class, ultimately can still actively steal nothingness from concepts.
And I have to ask- does Error really actively use his aspect? Because I don’t think so. There’s a popular fan concept of Error as a ‘Forced god of Destruction’ that I think really cements this. Time as an aspect tends to also represent Fate, and if there’s a character who has been actively fucked over by Fate, it’s Error. Even from his time as Genos, Error has been the butt monkey of terrible circumstances. 0pacifica talks about ‘Student’ classes (Thieves, Seers, and Bards) as one where the aspect changes the player, and if that doesn’t describe Error just.
Also it gives Error a codpiece and isn’t that just fucking perfect.
So onto the harder class to explain- Ink being a Rogue. Unlike the Destroyer class, there’s no ‘Creator’ class to nicely fit Ink into (although some suspect that the Heal class of Sylph and most likely Maid class can double as both Heal and Create) but even then, Ink doesn’t really actively create. Rather he tends to try and inspire creators to create. For Ink it made more sense to use 0pacifica’s chart to lower down the class, and then make sure the powers still fit from there.
To start with, there’s no way Ink is anything but a mutualist class. Both Ink and the multiverse benefit from Ink’s role in the multiverse. But even more telling that Ink is a mutualist class is the line in the flowchart ‘The story is not complete until I have accomplished what I have set out to do or found another way to satisfy my initial impulse.’ From the start of Underverse at least to now (though I also suspect to the end of Underverse) the story has been driven by Ink’s actions and motivations. There wouldn’t be a story without him, for good or ill.
From there using the chart, it was easy to lower it down to Rogue or Knight. Ink really isn’t changed or used by their aspect, unlike Error. So it really comes down to does Ink use his aspect or change his aspect. From here I really like 0pacifica’s one sentence descriptions. Rogue is ‘I change my aspect to a more useful form’ while Knight is ‘I use my aspect like a tool’. Eventually we decided on Rogue because Ink doesn’t really actively use his aspect- he’s much more about inspiration- allowing others to steal his ideas, if you will ;P. He ultimately changes other beginnings in service both to the multiverse and himself- squeezing them for paint so he can keep feeling.
Also Rogue just kind of fits Ink’s aesthetic with that cute little bandit mask
What’s really cool is these two classes are also on opposite ends of the ‘Reinvent/Change’ segment of the class chart.
Hopefully this is the longest segment..
Nightmare: Knight of Doom
Dream: Page of Life
Here’s another pair we really had to decide between Hope/Rage for and Doom/Life. But honestly there wasn’t actually a lot of debate. If Doom is Stasis and Inertia, then that fits Nightmare’s ultimate goal to a T. If Nightmare gets his way, the entire multiverse will be plunged into negativity, and with no contrast, everything would just be mired in the same. In contrast to both Nightmare and in particular, Ink, Dream is all about growth and making things better. Joku has specifically stated that Dream and Ink had a falling out due to this- Dream doesn’t care about creator intentions or their story. If there is someone suffering, Dream wants to fix it.
Another way these two fit is in something 0pacifica observes regarding Doom and Life players- Life players come from ‘the top of the pile’ with every advantage behind them, while Doom players come from the ‘bottom of the heap’ with everything working against them. From their beginnings Dream has always been put upon a pedestal, with the love and adoration of the villagers surrounding them, while Nightmare was always hated, always considered as a problem before he has any type of sway over negativity. In actuality, they were born equal, but the circumstances of which side they happened to represent tilted them in their respective directions.
For the extended zodiac, since Nightmare is such a terrible person, even more so than Error in a lot of ways, means that it’s not as useful. The descriptions ar emeant for people to identify with after all, and no one is gonna self-identify with being told they are a monster. There is a bit of the extended zodiac we can use though, and that’s Nightmare as a commiserator. In underverse he gains Cross’s trust by empathizing (in a way) with his negativity, and he surrounds himself with crew that have been in as bad circumstances as he has been. Life however, has a great section that fits Dream perfectly: ‘ Those bound to the aspect of Life are the universe's healers. They are concerned with the betterment of themselves and those around them, as well as the onward march of positive progress. Deeply empathetic, they have an intuitive understanding of other's suffering and the best way of righting those wrongs.’
When looking at classes, we considered the Commensalist sections for both Dream and Nightmare for a while. But we ultimately decided against that specifically with the line that ‘my accomplishments and failings are purviews of the fringes of the narrative’ which just can’t be true for two beings so fundamental to the multiverse. Indeed, you’ll actually see none of the characters in this post fall under this side specifically because I started with the most ‘important’ characters. We ultimately decided on mutualist for Nightmare- despite his ‘bottom of the heap’ status, he ultimately tends to take control of the narrative, and much of underverse and even a lot of fan works are centered around his actions, much like Ink. Dream, by contrast, is constantly fighting an uphill battle and for most of underverse is more a pawn than any true figure of movement in the story. Parasitic fits quite well for poor Dream who no matter what ending of Joku’s story you go by, always dies.
There really is no other character who quite wields their aspect and powers to their advantage like Nightmare. I really can’t find a lot to add here, it was a pretty unambiguous choice and had very little debate in our classpect talk. All his manipulations are steeped in death and decay and well, negativity, all which fall under Doom. Knight is theorized to be the active Exploit class which fits nicely into 0pacifica’s class descriptions. So, for Dream, looking under parasitism, Dream doesn’t really change his aspect, he’s pretty much defined by Life. This lowered it down to Prince and Page. Dream, unlike Nightmare, isn’t really an active manipulator of his aspect and of his positivity. It’s more a part of him, and thus Page, who in the flowchart literally uses the line ‘I am defined by my aspect’ seemed to be the perfect fit.
Like Ink and Error, these two are also opposites on the ‘manifest’ side of classes, and even better, Knight is the active Exploit class while Page is the passive exploit class.
Thank god this section was actually shorter
Cross: Witch of Blood
XChara: Prince of Heart
While these two characters aren’t opposites in aspect or class, it’s useful to talk about both of these two at once both because of how closely they are tied together, but also because how similar their goals and narrative journeys are in general.
Basically with aspect it came down to Blood and Heart for both of them. The more material aspects really have nothing to do with either of them, both of them are much more focused on narrative meaning. Light/Void is out of the question as when it comes down to it, through all their posturing, they ultimately are much more focused on themselves than any kind of big picture or big over-arching questions on the nature of reality. This also phases out Mind for both of them. And finally, this sentence on Breath is about as anti Cross/XChara as it comes: ‘what’s meaningful and important is discovering something new, expanding that perspective, broadening the meaning-horizon and rising above the mere material of the world until ‘tradition’ is a speck of dust on a marble’.
Ultimately we went with Blood for Cross over Heart. Cross is primarily motivated by the past in a way XChara really isn’t. Hell, one of the main reasons Cross decided to fight against Frisk and XChara in Timeline X was because the timeline they were currently in was a happy place for him and the rest of the monsters. Cross is also shown to utilize bonds- it’s a vision of Cross that stops XChara in his fight against Swap/Blue. XChara, on the other hand, is much more focused on the idea of control and being in control, because they know what’s best better than anyone else. Heart is appropriately labeled as ‘egoism’ in 0pacifica’s chart and if there’s one thing XChara has, it’s an ego. There’s also the line ‘Heart is the reading into and reading out of, the situating of what’s been read in the personal and the familiar, the reshaping and reinterpreting of the text outside of the author’s hands.’ If we see XGaster as an author, then what better describe’s XChara’s role?
Honestly the extended zodiac isn’t really great for these two, once again due to the fact they are largely negative and corrupted characters. Most of what’s there isn’t truly yet in the text but implied in the opening to Underverse Season 2 (Cross being a leader through inspiration) or something that I’ve basically already covered (Heart being self-obsessed). This is long enough already so lets just move on.
There’s no way either of them are anything other than a parasitic class. ‘I could beat myself bloody against the bars of the narrative and still get no closer to the form of success I personally desire’ describes both of their experiences in XTale and Season 1 perfectly. (’All my efforts were for nothing..’) As well, for how much these characters were corrupted and damaged throughout the course of Underverse, what changed them was much more outside forces than anything having to do with their aspect- they both tend to own their aspect.
XChara is pretty definitively a Prince- He is incredibly talented at utilizing his own personal potential and even his own ego to advance his own agenda, even as it actively fucks him over. And how do his overwrite powers manifest? A complete domination of others personalities and identity. He destroys others identities and personal narratives. Cross is a tough one because most of what we’ve seen of his powers and actions have been actively manipulated by XChara whose very aspect dominates identity. But one thing that we very much see in Underverse is how Cross actively forces other people to team up and form bonds to stop him. This forwards the narrative while being actively detrimental to Cross himself. And finally, one of the last moments we see with the new Cross at the end of season 1 is him actively changing his bond/deal with Nightmare to save Dream, which gives Dream the determination and ability to escape to the Omega Timeline with the other survivors. Unfortunately most of what is in the actual text isn’t super concrete but there is enough foreshadowing and implications of where Cross’s character is going to go that Witch just ‘feels’ like the right fit.
Whew I was afraid this was somehow going to be as long/longer than the first segment
XGaster: Thief of Light
This one should hopefully be fairly short as if there was a classpect title there was the least amount of debate and back and forth on, XGaster was it.
There’s no way XGaster isn’t Light. The literal second I saw the sentence of Light that says ‘There is one answer’ there was no way he could be anything else. XGaster’s entire storyline is about finding/creating the one true perfect universe. Essentially, in classpect and narrative terms, his entire narrative is about the Search for truth and meaning. Which is literally the sentence used to describe Light in 0pacifica’s writeup.
In the interest of wrapping. this. shit. up. I’m just gonna post this section from the Light part of the extended zodiac. It feels fairly self explanatory. ‘The Light-bound will go after knowledge with a fierce intensity that others may find distasteful. They aren't overly concerned with laws or norms, either. They often take rules as simple suggestions, instead searching for loopholes or work-arounds.’
Class is where I will probably actually have to explain a little more. I don’t think mutualist is anything I really need to extensively justify- the narrative of Underverse bends to accommodate the goals of Ink and XGaster, basically everything I said about Ink also works with XGaster with how closely they are tied.
The fundamental shift of XGaster’s narrative arc and even personality is all based around knowledge. He learns from Ink that other multiverses exist and in that instant it sets him on a new path. Thieves are all about acquiring more of their aspect to change and benefit themselves, and XGaster literally gathers ideas and knowledge from other universes to create and enrich his own. I know it’s cheeky to not have just one but two canon titles, but they undeniably fit.
Also he sure does have all the irons in the fire *shot*
Aaaaaaaaaaand we’re done! Look how fast that last segment went.

Explaining Rainbow Drinkers
I’m a decade wiser and return to the Homestuck fandom with a degree in biology and a desire to use it for evil. Lets talk about Vampire Troll Girls.
We get very little from the actual canon of Homestuck about Rainbow Drinkers, just Kanaya, Porrim, and a few hints of lore scattered about. Still, they’re one of the most interesting parts of troll culture - rare and strange, feared but also obsessed over in fiction and mythology. They may be analogous with vampires in the pop culture fascination surrounding them, but I don’t believe that they’re all that similar in function. So let's speculate on how Rainbow Drinkers could function on a biological level and how they fit into greater troll society.
Rainbow drinkers don’t seem to be literal undead, but rather a functional state that some Jadebloods have the potential to enter into. Yes, Kanaya only becomes a rainbow drinker after “dying”, but death isn’t strictly what made her a rainbow drinker. In fact, I’d argue that Kanaya never actually died - rather she reached a near death state. This state, I believe, did kickstart her transformation.
The most important thing to zero in on here is rainbow drinker being an inborn trait. Contrast this with how vampirism in human mythos is treated like a pathogen - no one is born a vampire, you become one via infection. RD is hardwired into Jadeblood biology, but it isn’t expressed in their default state. This raises a question: what causes a Jadeblood to undergo transformation into a rainbow drinker? Answering this is a little difficult, as we have a pitiful data pool of one to draw from. Nevertheless, we can examine Kanaya (as well as some dubiously canon content) to extrapolate a bit more about sparkly troll vampirism. Kanaya undergoes transformation into a RD when she is blasted through the stomach and seemingly killed by Eridan’s science powers. Off screen she regains consciousness, begins glowing, gulps down some friend blood, then returns with a vengeance. How do we explain this without leaning on the supernatural? Let's start by drawing on real world bloodsuckers.
Little may be known about Alternia, but planet Earth is abound with creatures that subsist on blood. Mainly the trait is seen in bugs and parasites - this lends itself to our cause, as trolls seem to be more insectoid than mammalian in nature. Hematophagy (blood drinking) is a trait that has convergently evolved in creatures across the planet - that is to say, hematophagic creatures aren’t genetically related. The trait crops up on its own because it's widely useful, not because of a shared ancestral nematode. Vital fluids, after all, are incredibly prevalent and are in sure supply wherever animals live. It’s not farfetched to say that hematophagy would appear on other planets - especially planets like Alternia that are host to carbon based lifeforms similar to Earth’s.
We can safely assume that blood drinking would work in the same way on Alternia as it does on Earth. That means rainbow drinkers face the same difficulties that Earth’s vampires do. Blood is not only difficult to obtain, but it’s also difficult to digest. So how do rainbow drinkers solve these conundrums?
First, the method. Most terrestrial bloodsuckers are nocturnal - and not just for the spooky aesthetic. Fluttering, crawling, and slithering in on a sleeping host lessens your chance of being swatted on impact. Almost all hematophagic creatures are stealth feeders, and Rainbow Drinkers are no different. Trolls are a nocturnal species, but Kanaya is stated to be diurnal upon introduction. It would make sense for her and other potential Rainbow Drinkers to have a natural proclivity for daywalking, as it's much easier to feed from a sleeping troll than a waking one. Kanaya is also able to withstand the fierce, burning Alternian sun - a force which is enough to blind Terezi, and leave any troll who walks out in it for too long with a scathing sunburn. Even Jadebloods that are not currently or will never be rainbow drinkers are likely to exhibit non standard troll sleeping patterns, as they live primarily in the brooding caverns - dark, underground caves where the sun cycle wouldn’t really matter to them. When they do leave their caves to hunt, the glowing, white skin of a Rainbow Drinker would likely be a large boon against the Alternian sun’s devastating rays. In Friendsim we’re told that Lusii’s bright white coats help to protect them from the sun. It’s likely the same for rainbow drinkers; the color white reflects all wavelengths of light far better than any other, thus their radiance and pale complexion provides them an extra level of defense when they’re out hunting. Friendsim also vaguely mentions Rainbow Drinker extract in Tagora’s route, where it’s used as a luxury skincare/beauty product that makes a troll’s skin look literally radiant. Very little is said about the product itself, so it may be a hormone or a secretion derived from Rainbow Drinkers. In the case of the latter… Kanaya and other Rainbow Drinkers might just be really greasy?
Now, in canon Kanaya theorizes that Rainbow Drinkers glow because of their home in the near pitch black caverns. It’s true that even with trolls' natural night vision, more light sources would be a boon. Animals that thrive in the dark like cats and wolves can’t magically see without a light source, rather their eyes are specially adapted to reflect even scant amounts of light. Animals that live in true darkness, like those found in the depths of caves, are more commonly blind. If no light is present, even night vision fails. With the mother grub’s natural habitat being subterranean, her special attendants possessing an internal light source would make sense.
We have to change gears now and reckon with the How of troll blood drinking and Kanaya surviving. First: how can a troll survive on blood? We know that all trolls - even Kanaya, subsist on diets of foods akin to what you and I eat. Is it even possible to suddenly switch to a blood diet? The answer is yes. Blood drinking comes in two forms: obligatory and facultative. Obligatory, as the name implies, refers to creatures like fleas and ticks who only consume blood, whereas facultative refers to creatures that have a mixed diet of blood and other foods. Mosquitos for example only drink blood when they need to produce eggs. Rainbow Drinkers are likely similar - mainly eating standard troll goodies, but being able to rely on blood if the going gets tough. Natural resources may be scant in the brooding caverns, and the ability to survive on blood would be incredibly advantageous for those living there. Blood would of course be in no short supply given the population and purpose of the caverns. The implication I’m getting at is well… not every grub survives the caverns trials, or even the caverns in general. Between imperial drones, hoards of lusii, and difficult terrain, the brooding caverns can be dangerous. It would make sense for the troll denizens living there to be exceptionally tough and capable of “recycling” the grubs that don’t make it. Horrible. I’m sorry. But that’s nature.
The transformation into Rainbow Drinker could very well be triggered by shock or extreme physical duress. After undergoing the transformation and taking a nice sloppy drink from her friends, Kanaya begins to exhibit increased physical abilities. Natural durability and rainbow drinker abilities serve Jades well in their special role as mother grub attendants, and I think that’s in part how Kanaya was able to survive Eridan’s attack. That, and the noticeable difference in how she and Feferi were hit. Fef was hit in the chest while Kan was hit in the stomach. Assuming troll biology is comparable to our own, cleaving out the lungs and heart is a lot worse than cleaving out the stomach. Now don’t get me wrong, both are awful, But if one of the two was going to survive, it would be Kanaya - not only is she a durable Jade (see above), but as a facultative blood drinker, it could be possible for her to have a separate stomachs for blood and food. The digestion process of the two is completely different, so throwing all of it into one pouch might not be a good idea. Outside of durability and luck with the placement of the blast, this could be why Kanaya was able to get back on her feet. And she’s a Sylph, a natural healer class. But this isn’t a classpect analysis, so I’ll leave that discussion for people wiser than I.
Jadebloods are stated to be the second rarest blood type out there, and those that are able to turn Rainbow Drinker exemplify how badass the whole caste is. It’s likely that they don’t possess these skills because they’re the chosen attendants of the mother grubs, but rather these traits are why the mother grubs chose Jades as their keepers in the first place. As much as I wish we’d gotten more info about Rainbow Drinkers from canon, it was fun to explore how they could potentially work, and it really cemented Jades as my favorite caste. Anyway, please excuse me while I go draw myself a Rainbow Drinker trollsona.

hi i love your troll tf2 designs thats all im not here to ask 3473760987 questions abt their classpects not at all no im not
hmm........... welp, I will assign them ANYWAY! (thank you so much for giving me an excuse to talk abt them ily) read it as you please
I don't have the best sense when it comes to classpecting, so anyone can share a different one!
Scout - Prince of Heart ; one who allows destruction through Heart, his own ego. Because he's a narcissistic bitch (affectionate). Knowing(or thinking) he is better than everyone, he tries his best on everything.
Soldier - Page of Rage ; one who provides others with Rage, even though it is something he can't seem to handle, he is helpful in many situations. Being the most alerted one.
Pyro - Heir of Hope ; one who is consumed by Hope, easily by how he is unable to see the real world but sees a brighter version of it. Yet he's still the most powerful to others.
Engineer - Maid of Light ; one who creates through Light for the betterment of others, how he seems to trust and help others regardless of condition using his knowledge.
Heavy - Knight of Breath ; one who uses Breath to protect others(hypothetically), he might seem quiet, yet he is outgoing and has bonded with the team, seeing them as Family, how he chooses to be a literal shield for the team.
Demoman - Witch of Doom ; one who manipulates Doom, how his body can literally handle his alcohol problem and even manages to make it a part of him, thus breaking the rule of Doom.
Medic - Sylph of Mind ; one who heals through Mind, both figuratively and literally. Well, one for sure, he was Heavy's only close """friend""" and probably the only one that has made him feel belonged. Literally is by how of course you know
Sniper - Mage of Space ; benefits themselves with knowledge pertaining to Space, Space players are patient, masters of the art of 'wait-and-see', Space can also be represented as a physical room, by how he knows much about wildlife and has great instinct.
Spy - Seer of Void ; one who understands through Void, as he can practically disappears. It can also be said that seers are someone who knows how the consequences of actions, this can also be how he is the one to plan out most of the time.
so yeah there's... that.
#long post#headcanon#have to open the wiki alongside this lul#and I do love talking about them thank u thank u#gs2

ok so theres been conversation about how the dream smp is homestuck, just a decade later, and even if you hate homestuck, it’s literally the truth.
you can probably find plenty of posts about their similarities, and if you want I can make one, but i want to focus on the potential of the fandom moving to tumblrso the tumblr fandom is on the smaller side right now, but i’m going to paint you a picture and it’s going to be of homestuck’s golden age (which may have been cringe, but they were fun)
so here r cool things from homestuck’s tumblr fandom i miss that could be so easily recreated:
upd8 tag!
this tag was used whenever the comic got an update, and everyone would liveblog or post about the update like IMMEDIATELY. it was SUPER cool, and i personally really liked it!! it felt like such a neat sense of community to go thru the tag and also refresh every few seconds because everyone was posting so frequently!!
speedy cosplays
the homestuck fandom had a lot of talented cosplayers, including people who would make a 5 minute cosplay immediately after the update of a new character or a characters new form or outfit. they were just REALLY cool and ridiculous sometimes and they would also be in the upd8 tag! i know there are talented cosplayers in the fandom, but they post more on tiktok because it is such a visual app! it’s literally a video app. however, tumblr is a jack of all trades and i just.. it would be cool lmfao
speedy fanart
this goes along with the speedy cosplays in the upd8 tag but dude seeing fanart of an upd8 that JUST happened that day was SO cool. it was so fucking awesome and it jsut made me like so happy sometimes??
themes & the whistles
ok so themes were so important on tumblr they were like THE COOLEST thing and they used to be my FAVORITE thing because theyre so fun and customizable! i miss like going HAM on my theme and giving it all the bells and whistles like fandom scarves, the little sparkly cursor, finding a neat background and cool pixel art for the sidebar image, and also pixel families!!
fandom scarves
this is brief, and i’m working on making my own dsmpblr scarves, but they were images that would just hang down from your blog! for homestuck there were scalemates (dragon plushies), and banners of your classpects or moon orientation. that may not make sense, but they were personal and cool identity things! i really liked them and it’s why im trying to make some dsmp flag banners!
pixel families
these have gone out of style i guess because no one really has a big central fandom anymore who someone has made pixels of? but in homestuck there was a user @/feastings who made a BUNCH of homestuck pixels and everyone would use them to make a pixel family! essentially, you would make a page on your blog for your pixel family, ask your friends what character they wanted to be, and then hyperlink their blog through the pixel image!!! they were my FAVORITE dude and i miss them SO much because they were just so silly and fun!
ask blogs!
now ik a lot of people make think these are or were cringe but personally i loved them. ask blogs where when you would make a blog for a character and essentially roleplay as them and have people ask you questions! a lot of artists did this and made funny or angsty comics with other ask blogs! they were super cute and i think it’d be fun to have like a dsmp ask blog community!
community au projects
we already have these and theyre definitely no “new thing” but i feel like it was such a cool community thing in the homestuck fandom. im sure your aware of the song “karkalicious” but it came from a community au called “broadwaystuck” and like, i don’t necessarily know if it was open, but a lot of people in the fandom knew about it and there were a lot of notable fandom members at the helm of it! im pretty sure the end of it was kind of messy, but i still think it was a really interesting thing! there was more than just “broadwaystuck” but im genuinely drawing a blank as broadwaystuck was one of the biggest
big meta
a lot of homestuck meta is... on tumblr. it’s lost to tumblr, because... no one made an archive really and unless you can remember urls it’s not necessarily easy to search for. something cool that the dsmp fandom has that homestuck didn’t though is... we already have an archive! imma self promote here, but @dsmpanalysis (s/o to @appleflavoredkitkats for being the head of it all!) is a whole archive of a lot of our meta! and i think it would be really cool to see how much more we could add! i just... really would like more analysis and theories because theyre SO fun
TLDR; more of the fandom moving to tumblr would be really fun, despite what a lot may think! i know it may be messy but big fandoms like this will always be messy. there are a lot of fun trends i would a) like to see brought back (big theme customizing, fandom scarves, pixel families, ask blogs, and community au projects) and b) could start on tumblr.
im really excited for the communities future and i’m for sure welcoming new tumblr users with open arms. tumblr is a really nice website in terms of functions and it gives communities tons of potential.
#dream smp#dsmp#mcyt#dreamsmp#long post#im sorry i just#a big tumblr community excites me because it has so much potential to be fun#also tags are great and tumblr is such a good website like#yes there are bugs and yes mobile is fucky sometimes#but the functionality of tags and customizing and shit like that???#i genuinely love it#if you've migrated and you see this#dude! welcome!#i'm glad ur here#we can make a cool community atmosphere here too! and itll be fuckin POG MAN

超高校級の英雄 V3: Danganstuck Classpects V3
Okay, okay.
Enough waiting around; let’s get this up and ready to go.
These are obviously just my own opinions on things, and as such are very closely tied to my own personal interpretations of both the V3 characters and also of the classpects themselves. For clarity’s sake, I based the aspect rationalizations from the official lore here, and I used the MSPA wiki for direction with the classes.
Just as a quick note, I used some of the FTE info (which is debatable in its veracity) for some of the assignments. Sorry, gotta work with what I have to work with. Also, if anything is expanded on in Homestuck 2, I have no idea, as I haven’t read it (or the epilogues, for that matter).
Akamatsu Kaede Prince(ss) of Time Derse Dreamer The Land of Sharps and Flats
Going off the canon description of Time, it makes perfect sense for Akamatsu. She’s goal-oriented, wants to skip to the credits, and would rather take a leap of faith than wait things out. To say nothing of the strong associations between Time and music. I went with Prince for her as a class since it’s the destroyer class--Akamatsu very literally destroys both Amami and herself (and her goal of getting everyone out alive) thanks to her own impatience in wanting to stop the one responsible for the killing game. I had her sleep on Derse since she’s supposed to be a bit of a protag subversion in that she hatches a literal murder scheme. Her equivalent of the Beat Mesa is a big metronome.
I also have an alt land name for her in The Land of Ninths and Eighths to reference the time signature of Claire de Lune (which is 9/8).
Saihara Shuuichi Page of Doom Prospit & Derse Dreamer The Land of Glass and Fingerprints
I considered making Saihara a Rage player at first given how the ultimate conflict is (supposedly going to be) solved in Chapter 6, but the description of Doom players as being commiseraters rather than healers really stuck out to me as appropriate for Saihara. Of all the characters in the game, he’s one of the few that doesn’t actually push anyone to heal, and his ultimate gambit in the 6th trial is to counteract the audience trying to self-medicate with catharsis at their expense. He takes a while to come into his own, which is the signature trait of the Page class, too. As a Doom player, he dreams on both moons, which for reasons I can’t quite articulate just clicks for me. The glass in his land name references not only magnifying glasses but also mirrors, since his is very much a journey of self-reflection.
Amami Rantarou Seer of Breath Prospit Dreamer The Land of Sails and Nail Polish
I really like what I came up with here for Amami. Breath is linked pretty strongly to his FTE reveals about how his desire to explore led his sisters to disappear into the ether (and changed his direction in life), and the angst he feels over wanting to reunite with his sisters hints at his trouble with bonds (the Breath inverse Blood’s territory). I incorporated the boat stuff into the theme with the idea of sailing for his world name, while the nail polish is for his sisters and that extra scene with Akamatsu. I went with Seer as the class since Amami Knows Things, and there’s that bit about Seers “having a strategy guide in their head” that I wanted to be a callback to the special map and the fact that he’s the Shogo Kawada of this operation. Prospit as the dream moon just felt right, so there it is.
Iruma Miu Thief of Space Prospit Dreamer The Land of Caulk and Nuts (and Frogs)
I don’t care if you have to have Frogs somewhere in the Space player’s land name, I will stand by that pun! So Space is all about creation and seeing the bigger picture, and to me that jived with how Iruma is an inventor. While Time is deeply linked to music on a conceptual level, Space is linked to nurturing, including growing plants, raising animals, and parenting. The Space and Motherhood parallels fit well with Iruma’s canon aspirations and goals. I went with Thief because Iruma is very much out for Number One, and wants to hog up all the creation ability for her own ends. Prospit dreamer because she’s the type.
Ouma Kokichi Bard of Heart Derse Dreamer The Land of Kings and Horses
There’s a lot you could do with Ouma, and I’m sure that plenty of people peg him as a Void player because of the lying. For me though, I read Ouma has being primarily concerned with his own identity, and how he’s perceived by others. Fractured senses of self are a Heart concept, after all, and it seems that Ouma likes trying on identities to see which one ultimately fits him best. I made him a Bard because they’re unpredictable and all about helping or hurting a session in random turns, but also because Ouma himself is allowing his own identity to be destroyed thanks to his paranoia and inability to let anyone get close to him. He dreams on Derse with all the other schemers, and I went with a name pun for the planet that can also function as a chess reference (ala his bandana and his 5d chess approach to life).
Kiibo Sylph of Mind Derse Dreamer The Land of Shells and Ghosts
Since Sylphs are healers, I wanted to have Kiibo in that role, since he’s usually trying very hard to smooth things over and fix problems. I went with Mind for him for a few reasons: one is that Kiibo’s self-identity is subsumed by his “inner voice” that later turns out to be audience suggestions, meaning that he’s healing things through the choices of others and doesn’t have as much of a Self as it were. Another reason is because I made Naegi a Mind player and Kiibo is clearly meant to be a bit of a callback to him (up to and including the fact that Naegi very much functions as an audience insert in the first game). I made Kiibo a Derse dreamer because he literally hears the whispers of the audience members telling him what to do. The land name was me having a little fun and poking at his aspect a bit.
Gokuhara Gonta Heir of Light Prospit Dreamer The Land of Pins and Wings
Light is all about knowledge, and Gonta has, while specific, quite a lot of knowledge. He likes learning, and is open to new information to re-evaluate what he knows. I made him an Heir since the speculation is that they are subsumed in their aspect, and Gonta is very passively knowledgable. He often offers helpful suggestions based on things he just happens to know, for instance, and what ultimately undoes him is Ouma showing him the “truth” of things, which Gonta doesn’t even think to question. He’s a Prospit dreamer who’s been awake for awhile, unwittingly watching the clouds for signs, and his land name is a reference to pinning butterflies into a collection.
Shinguuji Korekiyo Mage of Light Derse Dreamer The Land of Scrolls and Masks
Meanwhile, on the other end of knowledge for knowledge’s sake, we have the other scholar, Shinguuji. Unlike Gonta, he’s actively out there seeking knowledge, rather than being drawn to it, and his motives are undeniably selfish in nature, so I wanted him to be an active class (I’m assuming Mage is the active counterpart to Seer, shhh). Shinguuji uses his understanding of his field--humans--to progress his own goals and wants. He’s also smart enough to know what pieces of information to share and which to keep hidden behind a convenient zipper. Made him Derse because shemey as all hell, and I went with some general imagery for folklore for the land name.
Chabashira Tenko Knight of Breath Prospit Dreamer The Land of Sweat and Flipping
I think we can all agree that Chabashira is probably not a Derse dreamer. Meanwhile, I chose her aspect for a couple of reasons: first, because aikido is generally about evading attacks which strikes me as a windy kinda deal, even if Neo Aikido is a bit different; second, because her central conflict in the game is about learning to let go of a bond she desperately wants to forge with Yumeno (which, again, is a Blood-related matter); and third, because flipping somebody would create a gust of air movement and that image made me laugh. I went with Knight for Chabashira, since the most common interpretation of Knight is that it exploits its aspect, and I think that Chabashira is able to exploit the various currents of influence (especially in Chapter 3) to great success. I also think that she exploits The Breeze to nudge Yumeno’s path out of danger by taking her place in the kagonoko ritual. The land name is the sweat of training in martial arts, and the flipping is not just about said martial arts, but also about being flung off a see-saw.
Toujou Kirumi Knight of Life Derse Dreamer The Land of Sticks and Carrots
Life players are generally known to be trying to fix everybody’s problems, whether they want that to happen or not, and if that doesn’t scream Toujou to you, I don’t know what will. I went with Knight again for the exploitation aspect of it, where Toujou uses her position as authority in the group to further what she believes to be the greater good (hedging my bets here since we don’t know if Knight is active or passive). She’s clearly a Derse dreamer, because even if she wasn’t schemey, she’s droll as fuck. Her land references the two main ways to motivate someone: threats and rewards.
Harukawa Maki Knight of Time Prospit Dreamer The Land of Beans and Demons
I know, I know, but really, if you think about it, HaruMaki and Dave do kind of have a lot in common (and not just the fact that they have red eyes). The part about Time that fits well to me is that a Time player’s life is marked by strife and struggle, which HaruMaki has in spades. Like Akamatsu, she’s impatient and often acts rashly, in an attempt to cut out the middle man or advance what she thinks should be happening. She’s the last of our Knight squad, exploiting Time (or more broadly, destruction/entropy) to try and help out, such as trying to off Ouma or attack the Exisals head on. There’s also a bit on the Wiki that’s speculated that Knights often try to conceal their insecurities by acting tough, which is HaruMaki’s M.O. While she doesn’t have the music theme, assassination is very much about timing. I had her dream on Prospit because she’s not really a plans person, deep down, and her land name is a joke about her name/birthday referencing Setsubun.
HaruMaki doesn’t have a Beat Mesa equivalent, but she does have a tool specifically for causing a Scratch: a huge, unwieldy kantana.
Hoshi Ryouma Prince of Blood Prospit Dreamer The Land of Grass and Clay
Here you go, anon, what you were waiting for. I personally peg Hoshi as a Blood player, through and through. He’s stubborn, values bonds with other people, can lead via inspiration rather than direct command, and feels grounded. I think he’s a Prince thanks to the fact that he ended up destroying the very people who meant so much to him, and in the aftermath continued to push people away and pre-emptively destroy any possible future bonds. He’s a Prospit dreamer because he can see flashes of the future, though he often doesn’t read them correctly. His land is a reference to different types of tennis courts.
Momota Kaito Rouge of Hope Prospit Dreamer The Land of Wishes and Stars
The key part of a Hope player is that they can dream up a better world than the one that exists, and that can definitely be said about Momota. Like Jake, he’s a bit in his own head and immersed in his fantasy version of reality, where he plays the hero and is able to save everyone else. He’s somewhat gullible, to a point, and he’s the most superstitious of the bunch, showing how much stock he can put into the thing he believes. The sheer power of Momota’s belief is infectious, hence why I made him a Rogue--he’s out there trying to impart his sense of belief into those around him, for everyone’s benefit. He dreams on Prospit because of course he does, and I made his land name reflect literal space in conjunction with his talent, and to riff on that inspirational poster about shooting for the moon and landing among the stars.
Yumeno Himiko Heir of Doom Prospit & Derse Dreamer The Land of Death and Magic
While most people who played V3 picked up on Saihara being depressed, not everyone has noticed that Yumeno also suffers from the same bleak view of the world. Similarly to Saihara, Yumeno is not a healer, or a doer. She’s here to sigh and complain and tell you that’s rough, buddy. Because of that, I can definitely see her as a Doom player. I made her an Heir, as one who is consumed by their aspect, since Yumeno is very much doom and gloom a lot of the time. She’s also subconsciously drawn to death, as she gets close to both Angie and Chabashira before their untimely demises. It’s through their deaths that she comes more into her own, hence why it’s also part of her land title (I don’t think I have to explain the other part). She dreams on both moons because Doom players are implied to do so.
Yonaga Angie Witch of Hope Derse Dreamer The Land of Prayer and Idols
Like Momota, Angie has intense faith on her side; if Angie thinks it’s true, it’s true. She’s also similarly not looking at the same world as everyone else, instead seeing something slightly different and colored by her own beliefs. However, unlike Momota, Angie is not interested in helping others find their own faith, and would rather use the power of her belief for her own gain. Hence why I made her a Witch, an active class that manipulates its aspect. The other characters may not believe in Angie’s religion, but they sure do believe her when she tells them to sacrifice their autonomy for safety. I put her on Derse since her god could very easily just be a specific horrorterror, and the land name is connected to religion.
Shirogane Tsumugi Maid of Void Derse Dreamer The Land of Scripts and Swatches
I went through a lot of possible Classpects for Shirogane, including Light, Space, Seer, Heart, etc., but I think that this is what I’m going to settle on. Derse Dreamer because not only is she schemey, she’s listening to whispers of her bosses and the ratings, albeit in a less direct sense than Kiibo (what’s more horrorterror-y than a focus group!). Void as an aspect works well to me, since Shirogane is always going on and on about being plain and forgettable, about how she hides in plain sight, and even her talent is about becoming somebody else rather than herself. She’s also the one who in the end throws the “truth” into question, instead concealing it in favor of ambiguity. I went with Maid since one of the speculated interpretations is one who creates or creates through their aspect: she not only (arguably) erases the casts’ identities and memories, she does this in order to have “blank pages” on which to write the killing game’s drama. Whether Maid is an active or passive class is unknown, but if it’s active it makes sense since she’s using other people for her own gain, and if it’s passive, it could be argued that she’s doing it in service of Team DR or the audience.

Bonus!
The V3 audience Muse of Space The Land Beyond the 4th Wall
I don’t like assigning Master Classes unless I have a really good reason, and here I think it works. The fans are the epitome of the “wait-and-see” model, and their crime as it were is their general apathy toward the very real subjects of the killing game. They’re all big picture and no important details or nuance. You can’t get much more passive than being an audience member, hence Muse class, yet it’s their desire to recycle the series over and over that leads to the killing game’s very existence (they’re also not too upset about letting the kids’ past lives be sacrificed for this act of creation). The V3 audience is collectively in the real world as opposed to the Medium, hence the “planet” title for them. In the context of an actual Sburb game, they’d likely be Exiles.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, no Rage players in V3. I couldn’t find my notes the other night when I got home, so I just went ahead and reworked all of the classpects from there.
The Aspects were fairly easy to assign, but the Classes really had me scratching my head for a good long while. Maybe it’s because it can recontextualize the Aspect elements depending on what it is, or maybe it’s because we don’t have as much information about how Classes work.
Anyway, whew, that’s it! Hope you enjoyed!
