my favorite way to romance in dragon age is playing as a mage and going after a self proclaimed mage hater
I think it's so funny
like "I hate all mages except this particular mage right here and I will not be taking any questions"
hahaha such a fake idgafer I saw you yearning

do you have any refs for Minervaā€™s relationship with the other dao companions? I did not realize she and leliana was estranged šŸ˜ also if im remembering correctly she makes loghain do the dark ritual? sorry I do like spinning her around in my head and knowing the little details sheā€™s such a great character!!
leliana and minerva did not have a clear breakup in the alistair minerva sense but they did grow apart because of the simple reason that post dao minerva becomes politically at odds with the chantry while leliana is serving its leader. leliana is not a type of person minerva finds very easy to like or trust so while they did grow on each other over the course of dao they never had a simple friendship in the first place
alistair you probably know about bc its kind of the cornerstone of minervaposting but theres a post fully explaining it not much further down in her tag
zevran is her romance <3 i hesitate to use the word ā€œsoulmatesā€ exactly but they definitely fit together in a way no other minerva pairing could match
morrigan she has a weird close complicated vaguely homosexual friendship with, iā€™m sure this is par for the course for f!wardens. they probably could have been in love if morrigan had been willing to pursue it in the start and if minerva hadnā€™t already gone for someone else by the end, and all that is unspoken but very present in everything about them
sten is i guess kind of the typical high approval relationship as presented in game? not much more unique. a lot of respect a lot of arguing a lot of dry humour. they could hang out in silence comfortably and theyā€™re also both know and respect that theyā€™re very capable of killing the other if their greater purposes ever demand it
oghren she kind of doesnā€™t pay much mind in origins when she doesnā€™t have to but he becomes part of the family in awakening. they bond over having their insane shared experiences of the blight, and also over him trying to quit drinking and her trying to quit blood magic which leads to some really wild out of context conversations for the others. and hey, eventually over first attempting to parent at similar times
wynne she has a bit of a sharp relationship with. i think this could vary a lot if i pick her up earlier, but in my main minerva playthrough i picked her up late by which time minerva had absolutely no fucking interest in getting the kind of lectures she grew up with. sorry grandma </3
uhhhh who else. shale idk man im sorry for being a fake fan but shaleā€™s dlc truly does nothing for me itā€™s unfunny and i dont think abt it at all šŸ’” this would be written in less harsh terms if i wasnt sleepy
loghain is. well thatā€™s a kettle of fish. minerva spares him because it happens to be a preferable move for her agenda and her way of thinking, itā€™s not rlly about him as a person at all. she doesnā€™t absolve him of anything he did, like, she still thinks heā€™s a bastard itā€™s just that she doesnā€™t really believe at all in the concept of justice being done if it doesnā€™t serve a purpose. when heā€™s in the party they do build up respect and a weird kind of friendship. he sucks and sheā€™s bitter about what sparing him cost her, but that isnā€™t relevant, itā€™s not going to stop her learning from him, or fighting at his side as the best team she can quickly make them, or simply finding him entertaining to talk to. so by the end itā€™s as a friend that she asks him to do the dark ritual, whatever that means. post dao she agrees with weisshaupt that him being assigned outside of ferelden is wise but they continue to write to each other extremely regularly, mostly on matters of news and strategy but occasionally on the more personal
is that everyone i think thats everyone

I've been Officially Enabled thanks @what-point-is-there have a dragon age weirdo
Tumblr media
the one, the only, the original blorbo whose fault it is that i got super into dragon age, Evura Tabris! I've made a lot of wardens (and finished the game for almost none of them shhh) but Evura is the one I would consider my "canon".
She's the kind of person where all the looting you do in rpgs is canon, because she sees no point in wasting things just because the person who had them before is dead (i mean. she's also a thief. living, dead, she'll take from anybody if she thinks they can afford to be taken from), but she's also generally very kind. So long as you don't give her a reason to kill you, like, you know, the city elf origin story where you get kidnapped by a noble on your wedding day and have to fight your way out. She kind of slaughtered everyone there, because everyone seemed to treat this behaviour as perfectly normal. when I say she's kind, I don't mean she particularly cares about killing or not killing people, I mean she gives to beggars and frees people in prison. To some people, this may seem contradictory but to Evura if there are different rules for the powerful and everyone else when it comes to laws, there should be different rules for how she treats them, too.
This also extends to her level of trust in people. Authority figures, especially humans, earn a range of reactions from mild distaste to (again) outright murder, depending on whether they earn it. Duncan received a wary respect because he was polite and respectful with elves in her alienage in spite of being human; Alistair got a wary trust out of necessity and his own self-effacing personality. She places much more and quicker trust in people like Morrigan and Sten, because those are people very clearly and visibly on the outside of society. Even when Evura doesn't trust a person, or thinks they're making a series of stupid decisions, she tends to build fondness for them rapidly so long as they don't do anything too shady. Every new person who doesn't treat her like shit for being an elf is someone she can ply with endless questions about their life and culture, and the world beyond the alienage she grew up in; that genuine interest in other people's lives combined with her stubborn insistence on everyone getting along "so help me or I will stab you" mean most people who work with her end up at least with a begrudging respect for her. More often, they're charmed by her whether they want to be or not (except of course for those authority figures she doesn't like. they pretty uniformly despise her and she likes it that way.)
She ends up romancing Alistair - I almost went for Leliana, but Leliana says some things about elves that fall under the "well-meaning but super gross" category and Evura was immediately turned off forever. They're still friends, but Evura was not about to spend her newly shortened life trying to romance someone who was going to need to Work Through Some Things about her. She didn't expect to care for Alistair beyond work buddies at all, seeing in him mostly a hapless human with a sense of humour that complemented her own, but the way he treated her as he realised/admitted his own affections made her feel like she could let down her walls. They came to rely on each other a lot, and Alistair is the only person in the group who Evura tells her stories to, instead of just asking for his.
The other person she's closest to (in a group full of misfits that she is absolutely enamoured of, let's be clear) is Zevran, who functions in her life as a brother figure. They're both elves who want more of a connection to Dalish culture than they have, in their own ways, and they feel comfortable joking around together and knowing that the other would listen if they ever felt the need to open up (this does mean. they very rarely open up to each other. somehow they still know more about each other than anybody else? it's all in bits and pieces and jokes.)
also Evura definitely talks Alistair into doing the ritual with Morrigan so they both survive, does not want Alistair to be king (because he doesn't, and no matter how much she'd prefer him in charge to someone she barely knows who betrayed her she also knows Anora is capable, and what Alistair wants is more important to her anyway), and her entire thing when she goes chasing after Morrigan is "hey we could just help you raise that kid!" - she is so pissed to hear that Alistair got to meet Keiran in Inquisition without her. She spends the rest of her life trying to figure out ways to cheat the Blight in her and Alistair in between making politically controversial choices that piss off the leadership of the Wardens because she does not at all believe they should stay apart from regular politics. She saved the damn world and you can bet she will leverage that to fight for elf rights and mage rights and anti-slavery work and so on and so forth. All causes are Evura's causes and she'll kick your ass if you tell her to ignore injustice no matter how many times you've been to Weisshaupt

hi!! i've been rereading your fics in all of the veilguard hype and i just wanted to say your writing is just so good, i love your dialogue and characterization, especially how perfectly you write solas! like it really feels so true to how he speaks and carries himself!! so yeah haha just wanted to say happy veilguard summer and ty for sharing your awesome fics with the world!! šŸ„° have a nice weekend!
Awww thank you so much!! I love how Dragon Age readers/friends have been poking their heads out of the woodwork and we're all getting in touch with each other again in the hype, IT'S THE CALLING šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£
I'm so happy that you enjoy the characterizations, especially re: Solas -- he's such a tricky biscuit, so this is the most wonderful praise!! šŸ„° Actually, I hope it's okay if I use this ask as an opportunity to plug some of my fics...
Pikapeppa's reading list for refreshing your Dragon Age memory: fic self-recs for those who don't have time to replay Inquisition
(see below the cut for more!)
Lovers In A Dangerous Time: in a nutshell, Fenris is the Inquisitor with Hawke as his wingwoman. This fic is literally a novelization of DA:I with the mindset of "what would Fenris do?" It covers all of Inquisition and touches on every sidequest, and also covers all the DLCs: JOH, Descent, and Trespasser. So if you don't have time to replay Inquisition, you can basically read it here LOL. There is also some theorizing sprinkled throughout about various Big Unanswered Questionsā„¢ in Thedas!
The Love That Grows From Violence: this is a Felassan/f!Lavellan romance fic set post-Trespasser. For those who don't know, Felassan is a character in the novel The Masked Empire who was an agent of Fen'Harel, and whom Solas killed at the end of the novel. This fic addresses the questions: 1) what if Felassan was made Tranquil instead of being killed by Solas in the Fade? 2) What if Felassan and a bitter Solasmanced Lavellan fell in love? and 3) what if Felassan actually told us everything that Solas refused to share? This fic is my attempt to pull together the existing lore and meta (with references back to all the original sources) to try to answer as many Big Unanswered Questionsā„¢ as I could.
A meta post about the qunari that I put together after reading Tevinter Nights, with my own theories about how Sten might play into things. I also wrote a Sten/f!Mahariel fic that's set immediately post-Origins; it's a romantic tragedy, but it does contain some discusssions about the Qun that may be interesting to refresh our memories about the Qun/the qunari for when Veilguard drops.
A oneshot about Varric and Solas that I wrote after the very first Dreadwolf trailer dropped back in 2020. It seems relevant again now... LOL
Solavellan fic: pure smut and romance. In case you wanted to refresh your memory of how he captivated us in DAI -- or, alternately, if you didn't romance him and want to know why the Solavellans are the way we are LMAO, you can read my take on the romance. šŸ¤£ I have two Solavellan series on AO3: one for my own Elia Lavellan, which has a sad ending, and for Elbenherz's Nare Lavellan, which is "unfinished" in the canon universe, but includes a modern AU with a happy ending.
Beyond that, I have written romance fic for a ton of pairings in Dragon Age if you're just looking for some smut and romance! You can check out all my DA works on AO3, but I've written (M/F) pairings for the following LIs: Fenris, Solas, Abelas, Felassan, Blackwall, Cullen, Samson, Cole, and Sten, and most recently, a little oneshot of Teia and Viago from Tevinter Nights.
Again, Nonny, THANK YOU for your lovely words, and I hope it wasn't weird to hijack this ask for some self-promotion LOL!! Sending you all the love and a happy Veilguard summer!
A QUICK CAUTIONARY NOTE: if anyone does want to chat with me or send me an ask about Veilguard, please do not mention any spoilers from the Game Informer article. I want to go into the game with as few spoilers as possible when it's released, and I'm unhappy that I've already seen spoilers without meaning to. Thanks in advance! šŸ„°šŸ™
-- all the love from your friendly neighbourhood Pika! xoxo

FebruarOC - Jocelyn
My FIRST dragon age character!! Jocelyn Tabris is my city elf warden who I uh, named after Ayn's mom Jocelyn for some unknown reason.Ā
Um, I don't know what much I want to say, I'm sleepy as I write this and it's harder to write about a dragon age oc than I thought it would be asdflkj this was also like six years ago.
She's tiny, always angry, and would probably sooner stab you first and ask questions later. I just went and looked at her world state on Dragons Keep to like, find something to talk about and she's been a warrior this whole time?! WHY DID I THINK SHE WAS A ROGUE?! She dual wielded but like, I thought that was a rogue thing! That's why I did a rogue Hawke because I liked the Origins rogue?? Wow. My memory is faulty. Okay so she was a warrior!? Hm.Ā
I romanced Alister because you win him over with bad jokes (and cheese) (just like me fr fr) how could i say no to that? i did originally try to encourage him to be king but then he's like "but then we'd have to break up?" and I was like "wait what the fuck you can't have an elf queen???? RELOAD" I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU COULD ONLY BE QUEEN AS A HUMAN but like, well, this is dragon age they're not exactly having in game conversations about progressive politics. So instead he had a baby with Morrigan so that when I struck the killing blow to the arch demon, it went and fucked off into the baby.Ā
I will say that I was really bad with companion quests. I didn't finish Morrigan's, I didn't do Leiliana's, and I didn't find Sten's sword. Like, woah, fuck, that's a lot of dropped plot threads for the companions!Ā
Sorry this one is so short. I just don't really know what to say! I could talk about Jocelyn Starling if you'd like? No just kidding I won't. I unfortunately don't have any screencaps I know i took some but I didn't save them when I switched computers.Ā
You can, however, enjoy her (small) playlist, and technically it's a general "Dragon Age Origins" pin board but it is mostly built for Joss. Except apparently that "status: rogue" unless you take it to mean she's gone rogue but like what the hell i can't believe i've lied to myself after all these years.Ā
LASTLY, LET IT BE KNOWN: I'm a grey warden apologist.Ā
No drabble to link to for now.

Alright. Get ready for a trip. I'm gonna go point by point through this because I'm obsessed with these games, I dig the real world connotations, and the new trailer just dropped and I haven't played any DA since the flood. So...
We need to start with a discussion of Solas in general. He's Fen'Harel, the Dread Wolf. He fought against institutionalized and systemic slavery, freed his people, and fought alone against corrupt being powerful enough to be considered gods (and they are the old gods of the Tevinter Imperium, I believe, but that's a whole other thing). He created the veil and imprisoned the gods, possibly in Black City, and doing so nearly killed him and sent him into a thousand year coma. He didn't understand the consequences of his actions, but he trusted people enough not to mess it up further.
And then he woke up.
Let us start with the Qun. The Qun is fascism. Individual Qunari are fascinating individuals, especially when they are removed from the Qun as a whole ā€“ Sten and the Iron Bull being our prime examples. But everything we know about them paints them as fanatics that torture mages and lobotomize anyone that doesn't accept their philosophy. Their entire culture is systemic slavery, which is the very thing Solas opposed. Of course he hates them.
There's two instances that can change his mind: one is a possible Qunari Inquisitor, but your Inquisitor is Vashoth (edit 2020/09/03: as noted by @felassan -- thanks!), someone who was never part of the Qun. He's not been awake long enough to see it, and it shocks him out of binary thinking. He's apologizing badly, because he's personally a social disaster who doesn't know how to people (and we'll get to that). The second is if you choose to save the Chargers; Solas turns around on the Bull instantly, shows genuine concern towards him, and helps him deal with Fade-related PTSD.
In fact, all he ever wants to do is teach. If he comes out and says he's Fen'Harel people are going to assume he's a crackpot, but I think Solas, as a persona, is actually who he is. He jokes with the Bull and Blackwall about his Fade knowledge, and offers them both knowledge on how to kill fade spirits more efficiently. All three of them respect one another as soldiers. He compares knowledge of magic and history with Dorian, Cassandra seeks his opinion on organization and faith, Josephine appreciates his insight, Leliana asks his advice, and Varric and he chatter and shoot the shit.
He constantly tries to teach or learn. The only two people he has issues with are Sera and Vivienne, and even there he tries to offer advice and wisdom as best he's able. Sera can't stand him because she hates elves, and Viv is a victim of the Circle and can't imagine a world without an entrenched power structure, regardless of how many people it hurts.
And I suppose that's a thing a lot of people have trouble with when it comes to Solas: he tells you straight out at the end of Trespasser that he's going to tear down the Veil and destroy the world as we know it. And that's terrible. That's destroying a world state and trying to return thing to how they were, kind of like how the Inquisitor and Dorian reset time in Redcliffe. I mean, that world was a hellscape where everything you ever cared about was dead or corrupted, and fixing it was the right call. It's not at all like how the world Solas wakes up to is a hellscape where everything he ever cared about was dead or corrupted. Fixing it is the right call?
And we could argue that the future that we averted was a monstrous place, but how does Solas see his own world? His people worship the slavers he defeated and die with a terrible frequency. Elves die and face fates that are about as terrible as that faced by mages; he's fucked coming and going. And we know he went to the Dalish and tried to talk to them and they attacked him. Why wouldn't they? He knows about what's happening outside of the Plato's cave that the Dalish are dying in.
His actions are going to kill thousands. His actions are going to save millions. The Dalish are dying in droves and the city elves are going to follow. Giving them a fighting chance at survival means reminding them who they are.
He also tells us that waking up was like ā€œswimming in tranquilā€. I think creating the Veil crippled the elves in some way, and he's not trying to give them magic so much as he's trying to heal them of a disease he inadvertently created. And while I know it's hard to take him at his word, it shouldn't be: he lies by omission once (about being Fen'harel, as we've covered the reasons why already), and lies directly twice.
After Orlais, he talks about how much he missed intrigue and court. If you ask him about this, he stumbles and you get disapproval ā€“ the only time you get disapproval for asking him a question. He lets his guard down around you and still doesn't know what to do.
The last time is in Crestwood and only happens if you romance him. He's about to tell you who he is and he chickens out and tells you about the slave marks on your face instead. Because ā€“ and this is the important thing ā€“ he cares. He's viciously selfless; he doesn't believe he deserves happiness and he can't imagine a world where he can save his people and be happy.
Make no mistake: the elves are threatened with extinction with the world as it is. The city elves in Origins are blamed when they react to some of their number being raped and killed by human nobles. The Dalish in Origins can be wiped out by the werewolves. The Dalish in Awakening are wiped out regardless of what you do. The Dalish in DA2 can be wiped out in Act 3. The city elves in Kirkwall are hunted for sport, see their children kidnapped and raped before being murdered, are locked away and left to burn whenever there's any problem at all. Three different Dalish clans can be wiped out in Inquisition, and it's so easy for Lavellen to lose her clan.
The status quo is killing the elves. It is wiping them out. This is an existential threat that no one is doing anything about, except Solas.
He's also lonely.
He says he was derided by his enemies also when he offered to share his knowledge of the Fade. We took this to mean the Dalish before Trespasser, but given who he is, we can speculate that he's talking about the old elven gods. But if his enemies derided them, that means his allies did, too. His old allies still saw him as a madman and a fool, probably because he was one man standing against an empire. He clearly couldn't trust anyone in the old days, and even tells Sera he had to sacrifice some of those closest to him for fear of betrayal.
Consider that the Inquisition was the first time he had friends. No one knows him as anything other than the elven apostate hobo with bad fashion sense and a weird relationship with spirits, but, as mentioned, he has mostly good relationships with everyone. People rely on him. They like him. Lavellan potentially loves him, and he loves her.
You change his mind on the Qunari race (but not their culture). You show him that he was wrong and he accepts that with good grace and moves on; he keeps coming to the Inquisitor afterwards because he respects you and he does not want to do what he sees as the only way to avoid genocide. I don't think he ever stops feeling bad about any of the things he's gotten wrong; he wears his mistakes like a chain and tries to do better, never stops trying to do better, but his perspective and capability are so much greater than anything the Warden, the Champion, or even the Inquisitor currently understands.
And I wouldn't be surprised if we get a chance to fold him back into the party at some point. I think the actual villain of the series lies with the monsters the Evanuris fought against and were corrupted by.
I think the actual villains are the Forgotten Ones, and I think they are the Blight, and I think they are what lies in the corruption we know as Red Lyrium. Ā  Ā  Ā

Characters that I think will make a return in Dragon Age 4
Tumblr media
Okay, So lets get the first two out of the way and the reasons why I think they are bound to return.
Dorian Pavus: Pretty much a given, heā€™s already in Tevinter. Heā€™s got big plans for the city and heā€™s a fan favourite.Ā it would be a crime if he didnt come back.
Fenris: Will the Blue Wraith release I canā€™t help but wonder if thatā€™s setting up Fenrisā€™s arc and how itā€™ll pertain to DA4. How this wonderful character will tie into the shitstorm thatā€™s about to occur in the next installment. When you hear Tevinter, chances are a couple of things will come to mind. Mages, blood-magic, Dorian, Slavery and Fenris. His whole character is linked to this setting. Hes a character who's got the biggest reasons to be there so he better be there. either as the leader of a slave rebellion or possibly an agent of Fenā€™harel. Also, given how vocal the fandom has been about him coming back, I think Bioware will deliver. I just hope heā€™s intertwined witht the plot like Varric was, and not given a crappy cameo like Zevran was in dragon age 2. And even if you did (You fucking monster) Give him back to Danarius, then heā€™ll be in Tevinter too. Or if you killed him like a fucking moron, well Bioware have brought back characters from the dead before. Leliana I'm looking at you
And ngl, I really want a FenHawke moment
Now, these next ones are theĀ ā€œRealisticā€ few who I think will make a return based on theories and evidence but Iā€™m also making a section of characters who I want to see come back even if itā€™s not likely:
Sten: I find it very likely we will see this guy again. There conflict between Tevinter and Seheron should be one of the focuses in dragon age 4 and given that our actions in dragon age 2 he becomes the Arishok and if memory serves; heā€™s in Seheron. More Sten? More likely than you think if Iā€™m right.
Talis: Another one who should make an appearance given her allegiance to the Qunari. Talis was a really good character and criminally underused in Mark of the Assasins and dragon age 2 as a whole. I think sheā€™ll make a cameo, doing her thing as a skilled assassin for the Qunari.
Krem: It would be interesting for this character to make a return, perhaps he could not stand to see what is happening in his home country and makes a return. Given how important Krem is for representation, him being from Tevinter and how popular he was, I think he will also be making a return.
Verania: A small cameo. But I think if you stopped Fenris from killing her, then his sister Verania will be making a return. Which could offer an interesting scene if Fenris also makes a return. She does return to Tevinter, and given that her master was killed (Hopefully) it would be a curious thing to see how she ended up.
Varric: The reason why I think Varric will come back is because of the Red Idol. Varric has history with that thing, it was him and his brother who made the expedition to recover it from the Deep Roads and given how obvious it is that the Red Idol will play a major role in DA4 I think Varric will feel compelled to try and get it back or destroy it. He hates red lyrium and he hates that idol and he knows exactly what it is capable of, so the thought of it ending up in the wrong hands must unsettle him. He felt at fault for the red lyrium and Corypheus, hence why he stayed with the Inquisition to try and sort it all out. I think it will be the same for the red idol, he feels a responsibility to stop it because he thinks itā€™s his fault itā€™s out there in the first place.
Scout Harding: A potential LI maybe??? I think sheā€™ll play a vital role whether or not the inquisition was kept or discarded in Tresspasser. I hope she gets a more important role than a simple quest giver.
Isabela: With the recent concept art I am seeing A LOT of Pirates and I couldnā€™t help but think of Isabela. And that one concept art seems to confirm Isabela is coming back and I'm so excited.
Leliana & Cassandra: It sounds to me like Leliana and Cassandra will come back as advisors of sorts, Iā€™m not sure what role theyā€™ll play exactly in the grand scheme of things in the next game but I do think they will both come back in some capacity, because of their words and cameo in the ending to Tresspasser.
Abelas: maybe only a cameo if you killed him, but Solas essentially recruits Abelas and if hes alive I think Abelas could make a return.Ā
Unrealistically, but why I think they should:
Zevran: Heā€™s has somehow been mentioned or appeared in every game since origins and I donā€™t want that streak to be ruined. I think thereā€™s definitely a role for him given how much he adventures and explores, his wit and his tendencies to get into trouble, and how he is a fan favourite.
Oghren: Honestly? Just because we havenā€™t heard from him a long time.
Cullen: I highly doubt he will come back. Why? Because I feel like the option to romance him in Inquisition on top of his sort of redemption arc in that game is his...end. Like, he got closure, he got the focus he needed regarding all the shit he went through in the past two games and I honestly do believe that is where Cullenā€™s story ends. But...I could be wrong, they might want to keep the pattern of him appearing in every game and maybe they have something else planned for him since they strangely liked this character because he went from this minor dude in Origins to Meredithā€™s lackey in dragon age 2 to a fully fledged main cast member in dragon age 3.
Meredith: Speaking of Meredith, I think it would be so neat for her to make a return as a boss fight. Because fighting her in dragon age 2 was so much fun and I think with the return of the Red Lyrium Idol, having her come back somehow would be appropriate. Maybe the statue she turns into merely keeps her in hibernation? So under whatever the hell material the red lyrium used toĀ ā€˜killā€™ her, it actually didnā€™t snuff out her life but rather preserved it. Sheā€™s still alive and fiddling with the Idol brings her back. Edit: turns out shes super dead but I'm leaving it here in case I can somehow rationalise how this scary lady could come back
Orsino: I can totally imagine the theory that Varric lied about Orsinoā€™s death in order to protect him so Cassandra and the Templars wouldnā€™t go after him. Even the devs said his death was a mistake, so this could be a great way to rectify how shitty a card he was dealt in DA2 and give him a better storyline and role in the next game. Orsino is just a really good character who would do well with more time and focus spent on him.Ā
Bodahn & Sandal:Ā because I need answers about what the fuck Sandal is and I miss Bodahn. And given Sandal's massive fucking foreshadowing to Solas and the magic of the elves I think HE HAS TO COME BACK but also...idk what they would really do with him, if hed really play a role other than what he did in the first and second game. An enigmatic dwarf for comedic effect and also creepiness.
Anders: if hes alive, and if you didnt romance him. I want a cameo, since he was originally supposed to appear in Inquisition as a hermit in a cave. I'd like that concept to return in the area near Tevinter/Antiva. Because I think it would be tragic, if hes borderline insane and a wandering nomad hiding his identity. Maybe Justice has taken over, maybe we have to free him of Justice to recruit Anders. Maybe we need him to enter the Fade somehow? Maybe when the veil is broken Justice takes over completely that way? I just want an Anders cameo, see a tragic ending to a tragic character with the potential of redemption? Potential chance at happiness through helping the player fight Solas? And maybe, if Isabela or Varric come back...theyd have something to say? They might beg the player to help him? Mourn their friend or fret over him? Varric and Anders hug?
Spirit of Wynne: my girl Wynee gets no fucking love or mention from what I've seen and I will not stand for it. I'm sure she died, even by DAII's timeline. But if the veil is torn? Maybe her spirit will pay us a visit, give us words of encourage or wise lessons??? I miss Wynne so much.
Morrigan: I do think something is being set up with her character and Kieran. And with her being so woven with the whole Mythal thing, I wouldn't be shocked if Morrigan wanted to get involved, since Mythal wanted to live on through Morrigan. Maybe Morrigan has a bone to pick, maybe shes mad that Solas killed her mother.

tbh i want to know the answers to all of the warden questions but if you donā€™t feel like doing that then 1 & 2 for each companion? pretty please
Bless!! Iā€™m so excited to do this!! I think Iā€™ll stick to the companion questions just for brevityā€™s sake :)Ā
Zevran
1. How did your Warden react to Zevranā€™s failed attempt on their life? Were they amused? Angry?
Having grown up in the circle, Rowan wasn't accustomed to the concept of mortality, simply because she was raised in such a sheltered manner. I think that she failed to see the seriousness of the situation, and thought it was hilarious that she- an elf from the circle- was considered important enough to assassinate.Ā
2. Did your warden match Zevranā€™s lighthearted attitude or were they more serious? What sort of relationship did they have?
Rowan isnā€™t serious by any stretch of the word, and meeting Zevran helped to save her from being around the doom and gloom of Alistair and Morrigan (she loves them too, but Zevran brought a levity that she needed). They became fast friends, and grew a close bond. Though Zevran did flirt with her on occasion, their relationship always stayed one of deep friendship grounded on mutual respect and admiration.Ā
Alistair
1. What sort of attachment did your warden form with Alistair, if any at all? Were they close due to their shared experiences as Grey Wardens?
Rowan loves Alistair desperately, in a way that encompasses both romantic love and deep friendship. Since meeting him at Ostagar, she formed a habit of standing really close to him, almost hiding behind him. Even though she served as a leader for their group, she clung to him for comfort and support, which he gladly supplied. They are easily the closest of their rag-tag band, and never seem to leave the otherā€™s side.Ā
2. Did Alistairā€™s parentage surprise your warden? How did your wardenā€™s feelings on the nobility affect their relationship with Alistair?
Rowan wasnā€™t really surprised to hear of Alistairā€™s royal lineage. She told him once, just after Ostagar, that he bared a great resemblance to King Cailan. Of course, he said they both just had big noses and that was where the resemblance ended, but Rowan never let that thought go. When he finally told her, she simply smiled at him and playfully shoved his shoulder.Ā ā€œOk, prince-y. Letā€™s go kill some corpses.ā€ She had said, and Alistair just gaped at her as she skipped off. Rowan never made Alistair king, and favored Anora for the throne so his parentage didnā€™t affect them much in the end, much to Arl Eamonā€™s displeasure.Ā
Wynne
1. What did your Warden think of Wynneā€™s views of the circle? Did they have different experiences regarding the circle?
Rowan had known Wynne since she was a little child, and had many fond memories of her. Seeing her at Ostagar actually made her cry with relief at a familiar face, and every soul there was subjected to the sight of a tiny elven mage nearly tackling an old woman in what looked to be a bone-crushing hug. As for Wynneā€™s views, Rowan always thought that the circle was too restrictive, and they seem to agree on that front. Although, after awakening, Rowan became more and more angry with the circle, and the events of Dragon age 2 completely turned her against it. However, during the events of Origins, Rowan and Wynne agreed for the most part.Ā
2. How did your warden respond to Wynneā€™s comments if your warden romanced someone? Did they tell her it was love or that the relationship was purely physical?
Wynne was the closest thing Rowan had ever had to a mother, and so she hung on to every word she said with deep conviction. When Wynne voiced her skepticism about Rowanā€™s relationship with Alistair, Rowan was crushed. She was angry at first, asking why Wynne would doubt her like she was, but she soon understood that Wynne was just looking out for her. Once Rowan confirmed that what her and Alistair had was real love, Wynne softened to them and eventually gave them her blessing.Ā
Leliana
1. What was your Wardenā€™s view on the chantry? Were they wary of Leliana due to her religious beliefs or lack thereof?
Rowan doesnā€™t dislike many things, but she is certain that she dislikes the chantry. Years of learning the chant in the circle failed to make her devout, and succeeded in fueling her skepticism. She studied the chant thoroughly, and the more she studied, the more she disliked it. Rowan was also a history buff, and the contradictions in the chantry throughout history only made her more distrustful. The Chantry was the reason that the elves suffered so greatly, after all. As for Leliana, Rowan was infatuated with her the second she saw her. She was too distracted by her lovely red hair and mirthful eyes to notice that she was wearing the garb of a chantry sister, and so she accepted her into her party without a second thought. As they got to know each other however, it became clear that they believed different things. Even so, the fact that Leliana actively criticized the chantry helped to earn Rowanā€™s trust, and they eventually became dear friends.
2. Was your warden curious about bards? If they had the opportunity, would they choose to become one?
As a mage, Rowan couldnā€™t become a bard, and she wouldnā€™t want to. After hearing all of Lelianaā€™s stories, she knew that she didnā€™t have what it took to become one. Despite this, she never said no to a good bard story when Leliana offered.
Sten
1.Had your warden ever met a Qunari before sten? What did they expect?
Rowan, being the history buff that she is, had known about the ongoing war between the Qunari and Tevinter, and so she had done a good amount of research on Qunari before meeting Sten. Meeting Sten was one of Rowanā€™s favorite moments, mostly because she thought he was utterly fascinating, but also because she manipulated a Revered Mother to set him free. She knew that Qunari were exceptionally tall, but she was not prepared for the quality of Stenā€™s skin. She knew that Qunari skin contained different properties which made it hard like leather, but she was still fascinated by it. Once she and Sten grew close, he would let her research him through posing for anatomical sketches. He acted like it was an annoyance, but he secretly found her enthusiasm for learning endearing.
2. What did your warden think of Stenā€™s beliefs that peopleā€™s roles were determined at birth? Did they agree?
Rowan didnā€™t necessarily agree with his beliefs, but she certainly respected them. She would ask him the occasional question about his culture, always making sure to be respectful, and Sten would provide an answer. Even though Rowan didnā€™t share his beliefs, she often wondered what it would be like to have such certainty in your role in life.Ā
Oghren
1. What did your warden think of Orzammar? Were they impressed or did they become disillusioned with the city, like Oghren did?
At first, Rowan was fascinated by Orzammar. She thought it was beautiful, and the history attached to it was amazing to her. However, once she became more acquainted with the politics there, she realized how deeply flawed the city was. She ultimately sided with Bhelen, only because he would dissolve the caste systems, which she held a lot of disdain for.Ā
2. What were your wardens feelings of berserkers? Were they frightened by them?Ā
Like anything unconventional, Rowan loved the idea of a berserker. She would often grill Oghren about the practice, eyes sparkling with intense interest. She wasnā€™t afraid of them, most likely because she never truly grasped the concept of mortality, but she did hold a deep respect for them.Ā
Morrigan
1. What was your wardenā€™s first impression of Morrigan? Did they trust her or were they cautious of her?Ā
Rowan liked Morrigan the second she laid eyes on her in the Korcari wilds. The idea of a mage living outside of the circle their entire lives fascinated her, and you can guarantee that she bombarded Morrigan with questions every chance she got. She instantly trusted her, maybe despite her better interest, but she held too much respect for the witch of the wilds to not trust her.Ā
2. Did your warden agree to help Morrigan kill Flemeth? Why or why not?
Rowan absolutely helped to kill Flemeth. It was a win-win situation, she could help her friend AND fight a dragon. Also, the joy in Morriganā€™s face when she was presented with Flemethā€™s grimoire made any dragon-related injuries worth it.Ā
Loghain (Rowan did not allow a war criminal to enter her party, and simply asked him to kindly die by her blade)
Shale
1. Was your Warden interested in golems upon meeting Shale? Did they think of golems as weapons or sentient beings?
Rowan was enchanted by Shale upon meeting them, and was constantly writing notes about Shaleā€™s experiences. She believed wholeheartedly that Shale was a sentient being, and loved chatting with them whenever she could. She would also go out of her way to find new crystals for Shale to wear. Shale also allowed Rowan to sketch them, but only when they had their nice crystals on.
2. Did the realization that Shale was once a living dwarf surprise your warden? How did that change their views on golems?
Rowan was definitely shocked to find out that Shale used to be a dwarf, and after going to Orzammar, Rowan made it her duty (after the blight had been ended) to seek out any living family members of those who gave their lives to the Anvil of the Void. Her views on golems changed from fascination to feeling conflicted about them. In Shaleā€™s case, they gave up their soul willingly, so Rowan did not pity them, and instead loved them as they were- a big, stony colossus.Ā
Dog
1. Whoā€™s a good boy?
Chunk is the goodest boy to have ever lived.
Wow this was long but so fun!!! Thanks so much for asking about Rowan and her companions :))))

Kaaras and Stenn
Tumblr media
// Before Kaarasā€™ romance during Inquisition, heā€™s only ever been in one serious relationship. I wanted to talk more about who that was, so--
Meet Stenn (now that I have pics of him!):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stenn is a Talā€™Vashoth warrior, who was a Sten under the Qun. He was a fair few years older than Kaaras, in his 30ā€²s when they met (Kaaras was in his early 20ā€²s).
Having met at a young age, and a troubling time for Kaaras, Stenn became a very solid and stable part of Kaarasā€™ life. Struggling through depression and alcohol addiction, as well as a lot of self loathing and other issues Kaaras was going through because of having left home and the loss of his father when he was a child, Kaaras was a mess. Heā€™d often drink himself into a stupor and then sleep around. While Kaaras never lost his penetrative virginity (and itā€™s something he doesnā€™t lose until his Inquisition LI), he did fool around quite a lot no thanks to his liquid courage.
That stopped when Stenn took a shining to him, and in turn, Kaaras grew feelings for him back. Stenn was a kind, compassionate and almost a fatherly figure in a sense as well for Kaaras. Kaaras does have a thing for older men, and itā€™s quite a weakness, so I think that worked to Stennā€™s advantage, but it was not his intention. Stenn just saw the mess that Kaaras was, and thought this was a person with potential to be much better once he figured himself out and set himself straight. He ultimately wanted to help him.
Things started small, just being able to spend time together during and in between missions. Kaaras looked UP to Stenn a lot, because of how set in stone he was, because of how much he already knew himself, despite having changed his entire life as a Talā€™Vashoth. From a younger point of view, Kaaras saw hope in that, because he was a mess with a big hole in his life, and he needed to change that, to make it whole again.
The first step, Kaaras knew he had a drinking problem, and with the help of Stenn and a lot of withdrawing and pain, he was able to get off the alcohol. He still had his slips here and there, but everyone has those. But it was Stenn who got him through that, and he was by his side the entire time he was in withdrawals. Kaaras suffered the whole lot, the night sweats, the physical agony of coming off alcohol, the shaking, the irritationā€“all of it, and Stenn was there the whole time while he detoxed. He was there to remind him how far heā€™d come, of what he could achieve.
Not just that, but Stenn helped Kaaras understand himself sexually as well. Due to the PSAS/PGAD (more meta in his tags on his condition), sexual contact could oftentimes be painful. Kaaras hated his body and everything to do with it. His PSAS/PGAD was probably a lot worse as a younger man due to hormones going haywire as well, but he still suffers the condition to this day. Stenn took things slow and encouraged Kaaras to ENJOY sexual stimulation, and remind him that it wasnā€™t always to be associated with pain. Kaaras is and will remain a shy person. Despite his past, he was drunk during those times, and without the alcohol, it brought on a whole NEW bunch of insecurities and AWARENESS to him. He could no longer drown himself in flesh without the aid of that courage, so going slow for him was a MUST, and something that Stenn was able to do.
While the two of them certainly were able to explore with each other, the time when they were going to have sex was unfortunately interrupted. Kaaras, having worked up so much courage only for it to be shot down again, took a blow. While they were still romantic with one another and in a relationship, it was like working up from the bottom again, and unfortunately, never reached that far before things started to decline for them.
Both of them have ALWAYS been stubborn. Kaaras was beginning to come into his proper manhood and adulthood now, and he was beginning to form his own opinions and morals, particularly because he was now sober. He was his old self again, and yet a new person as well. Heā€™d grown and heā€™d learned. He was developing emotionally and maturing fast.
Stenn, already in his mid 30ā€²s, was never going to change. And unfortunately they had conflicts of interest as time went on. Kaaras had started to question the leadership of the mercenary company they were a part of (Kaaras had not originally been a part of the company while Stenn had been an original member). Of course, you can see why there would be conflict there. Kaaras has extremely strong morals, and that doesnā€™t always work to his favour, especially if he is to follow orders he does not personally agree with. Stenn didnā€™t want to hear it, and knew that their leader was getting work for them and therefore that was good enough. Unlike Kaaras, Stennā€™s morals were lower and he didnā€™t mind breaking the law for coin.
While the two of them tried their best to work through it, unfortunately, it took a turn for the worst when Kaarasā€™ mentor (who was the reason theyā€™d joined the merc company in the first place) was killed during a questionable contract. Kaaras had had enough. It was the last straw, and he told Stenn that he was leaving, and if he wished to follow then he was welcome to. Unfortunately, Stenn was already set in his ways, and did not want to break away from the company heā€™d been a part of for years. Even though Stenn did not want to break up, Kaaras made the decision for him, and broke it off with him despite it being so difficult to do.
The split was somewhat mutual and there was no hard feelings between them, but that didnā€™t mean it wasnā€™t difficult. Kaaras will NEVER forget what his lover had done for him, and he even informed and thanked him for the support heā€™d given him over the years and the personal growth. In saying that, though, leaving was the best thing Kaaras had ever done for himself. It wasnā€™t just him who had been questioning orders, but some of the other mercenaries as well, who followed Kaaras when he left and named him the leader of their new company, the Beres-taar. Even though Kaaras was a young mercenary captain, heā€™d proven himself a good leader over the years and people were willing to follow him.
Having moved to Starkhaven for a more permanent position, Kaaras did struggle with alcohol a little bit after the breakup, but his own personal growth allowed him the strength to keep control of himself (and with the support of his company and sister). This was a massive breakthrough for Kaaras and who he is today. He knows he has the strength and the will. He also now canā€™t be selfish, as he had responsibilities as a leader. This is also why he fell into the role of Inquisitor with more ease than some. He had the experience of being a captain for the last few years before Inquisition. The responsibility does have it tolls, though. Kaaras began to stress eat, which is why heā€™s a little softer around the midsection these days compared to his previous figure. Heā€™d always been short and stocky, but he also used to be a fair few kilos lighter.
While he and Stenn attempted to write here and there, the wounds were just a little too raw for Kaaras to always get in contact with himā€“and his duty as Captain took priority. Only when Kaaras was invited to the peace talks did Kaaras see Stenn again while they moved south and made their way through Kirkwall (where Stenn and the company were based). While Stenn proposed that they could perhaps get back together again, Kaaras had grown too much and the divide between them had simply gone on for too long. Kaaras may always love Stenn in a way that heā€™d never forget, but he knew that it would not end happily, and he also didnā€™t respect Stenn as much as he used to, therefore he could not be in a relationship with him. Theyā€™d simply grown apart too much, and that was fine.
Unfortunately, during Inquisition, Stenn does die on a mission for his company, and the captain of the Ralshokra writes to the Inquisitor explaining what had happened. Kaaras is devastated and heartbroken to hear that Stenn has died and that he never quite told him that he had loved him when they were together. Kaaras will never forget him, or what he did for him. In a way, he feels that itā€™s because of Stenn that he was able to be where he is today. That he was able to grow, to sober up, to explore and learn so much about himself, and because of that, he will always love him.

Request #1:
Lucanis Dellamorte/Zevran Arainai
Caterina Dellamorte/Zevran Arainai
Viago De Riva/Andarateia Cantori
Fanfiction
The Antivan Crows have a big spotlight in the recent story collection Tevinter Nights, and I'd love to see what would happen if either Lucanis or Caterina interacted with Zevran, or if they have any history together.
-Lucanis is willing to go outside the bounds of his orders to help people, which is a big no-no in the Crows. I'd love to see what would happen if he and Zevran either had to work together, or became rivals somehow sexy rivals ;D.
-Caterina Dellamorte is the elderly matriarch of her house, First Talon of the Crows, and also a woman known for beating people to death with her cane. How does Zevran regard her (considering his appreciation for older women), and does she have any weakness to his wiles?
-I wonder if Zevran is actively trying to kill either of them or vice versa.
-As for Viago and Teia, how are they faring after the tumultuous events of Eight Little Talons, and have they come in contact with a certain former Crow?

Request #2:
Sky Watcher/Female Trevelyan
Frederic of Serault & Rylen
Brother Ferdinand Genitivi/Philliam Trevelyan/Laudine
Fanfiction
Genitivi/Philliam/Laudine - they're currently on the lam, running from the Qunari and potentially still sending back intelligence to the Inquisition. How does being in constant close quarters, bar-hopping across Thedas affect these literary luminaries? Philliam and Laudine are previous lovers, how does putting Genitivi (who has a very notoriously saucy pen name) into the mix change things?
Frederic of Serault & Rylen - being stuck out in the Western Approach with few opportunities for entertainment and the constant threat of death by monsters and bandits is an excellent reason to stay in a fortified position like Griffon Wing Keep. Frederic stubbornly continues on with his research even after all of his staff have perished, and Rylen decides to keep an eye on him (Heroes of Dragon Age has Frederic as a mage, but you are free to ignore that since it's not shown in Inquisition).
Sky Watcher/Female Trevelyan - F!Trevelyan is very curious about the Avvar and their traditions; after he's recruited, Sky Watcher (you find out his name is Amund in the Multiplayer) is more than happy to teach her. Feel free to use your own Trevelyan or the default.

Request #3:
Female Amell/Sten
Female Cousland/Sten
Female Aeducan/Sten
Fanfiction
(The Wardens are obviously not completely interchangeable, but for the purposes of fic what I want from the pairings is the same. I do think F!Aeducan would probably "get" Sten the best, but the conflict in him falling for a mage is also delightful, and Cousland treading carefully while subverting his expectations would be lovely too)
After a Warden gets his approval high enough, Sten starts to call them kadan, which denotes caring about someone deeply. I'd love to read a story where Sten is head over heels with the Warden, and is extremely confused by it. She is the antithesis of everything he believes about women and bas from what he was raised believing in the Qun. His admiration of her is related most to her control of her abilities and/or battle prowess, but also he loves how practical and dutiful she is. She might find his alien point of view fascinating, enjoy carefully drawing out of him more about himself and his people, and learning to understand him better... she's also just generally into how tall and muscular he is.
Sex in Qunari society is supposed to be divorced from love, and when the topic comes up (with Morrigan) Sten seems disenchanted with the act, as well as certain he would harm a non-Qunari partner. It's not important to me if the relationship is sexual (if you can make it work, of course, I would not complain), I'm more interested in displays of mutual caring and affection with these pairings, whether it be defending each other in battle, or sharing some cookies.

Request #4:
Felassan/Solas
Desire Demon(s)/Solas
Solas/Wisdom
Fanfiction
Desire Demon(s)/Solas - Solas might say he's not tempted easily, but we all know he crumpled like wet paper the first time he was shown affection. Lacking a friendly/romanced Inquisitor, perhaps he has friends in the Fade who don't mind keeping him company. Or maybe one of them is perfectly happy to help him work out an unrequited crush on someone in the Inquisition. If this is the case, I'd prefer they weren't named or described so that the person is kept ambiguous, and keep it about how he knows it's the spirit/demon feeding on his emotions but it also happily helps him deal. Also, what would happen if the Desire Demon took on a physical form just to pursue him in the Waking World? Would he get angry or feel like he has to guide them like he did with Cole?
Felassan/Solas - Yeah, so I don't mind if the story takes place before or after the events of Masked Empire, but if it's after, there has to be some mention of how Felassan survived (he'd have to have been Tranquil for at least a little while), and how he manages to forgive Solas. If it's before, something set right after Solas wakes from uthenera would be nice, or if you want to delve into their relationship during the time of Ancient Elvhenan and the Evanuris, and potentially their days as servants to Mythal or during Fen'Harel's rebellion, that would be cool.
Solas/Wisdom - Wisdom cared deeply for Solas, but the greatest thing keeping them apart romantically would have been their natures in that he was a physical man and she a spirit whom he wouldn't want to twist against her nature (likely into a Desire demon instead of Pride). They are both ancient, so it can be assumed that they found their roles satisfying enough, though it's suspected that Solas was once a Wisdom spirit as well, and perhaps wishes he could go back to being one. I'm generally just curious about how they would spend their time together. Just how long did they know each other? After she dies, Solas looks for her in the Void and finds stirrings of her remains - would he try to put her back together from memories?

Audric & Myrna
Cole & Justice
Jowan/Lily/Female Surana
Fanfiction
Audric & Myrna - I am still a bit confused about Audric's nature, and just how much of him is still him but I suppose so is Audric - Myrna seems to believe his mortal soul is still remarkably intact. Down Among the Dead Men is Audric & Myrna's origin story, so I guess tell me more about how he adjusts to his "afterlife" working with her and the Mourn Watch, and how she helps give him purpose.
Cole & Justice - Two spirits who had very different experiences once pulled into the Waking World. What would Justice think of Compassion, and vice versa, how would they interact and what would happen if they had to work together. What would Justice pick up on that Cole wouldn't, what would Justice think of Cole creating his own form instead of possessing something? I'm very curious about how they would bounce off of each other.
Jowan/Lily/Female Surana - Perhaps they came together while apprentices, or they were always close friends, but it became something more after the Fifth Blight and Surana tracked them both down again. Maybe she and Jowan have to rescue Lily from Aeonar and things develop from there. If she's not a blood mage, how does Surana come to terms with the dark power Lily and Jowan are willing to use?

Hollix/Original Female Human Lord of Fortune
Hollix/Original Male Human Lord of Fortune
Hollix/Original Nonbinary Human Lord of Fortune
Fanfiction
So who are the Lords of Fortune, you might want to know?
Well, without recapping Tevinter Nights too much, they're a faction of mercenary adventurers, treasure hunters thieves and seekers of wealth and fame based out of Rivain, who can be of any race or background. They take odd and dangerous jobs from anyone who can pay the fee and have standards, so no working with slavers or punching down against the common folk. A lot of fans believe that our next protagonist in DA4 will be a member of this faction. And well, Hollix is a Lord of Fortune, though don't be deceived by the "Lord" bit, their gender is fluid and they are confirmed as nonbinary by their writer.
Hollix gained their name from Dorian after Hollix crashed a card party he was holding while attempting to spy on him - read "Luck in the Gardens" from Tevinter Nights if you want their whole story.
Writing for one of these pairings is going to require an OC and you can make them however you like, as long as the OC is from Thedas and becomes romantically entangled with Hollix. Hollix is already taking jobs from Dorian and has met Maevaris, so it's not a stretch that the new character would meet via their patrons through another such job - or perhaps they simply met in a tavern much like the one where Hollix tell their story. Go crazy, do worldbuilding, make predictions about the next game, have them do a heist, I'm all ears. :D

Loghain Mac Tir/Female Surana
Female Hawke/Loghain Mac Tir
Loghain Mac Tir/Female Trevelyan
Fanfiction
F!Hawke/Loghain - In the very unusual instance that Loghain survives to see Inquisition, he can be Hawke's Warden contact. I'd love something about how they met and Hawke's feelings about this man who did so much damage to the country she grew up in, but also who has worked to make restitution in the Wardens. They're both a bit adrift and away from home, heroes whose stars have diminished or fallen. How do they come together, and who ends up staying in the Fade?
Loghain/F!Surana - What made Warden Surana spare Loghain, and when do they realize they're in love? Does she convince him to do the Dark Ritual, or does one of them die against the Archdemon? Do they fall for each other in Vigil's Keep, after she's Warden Commander, or do they end up travelling to Weisshaupt together after the events at Adamant (and having survived yet again against all odds, Loghain tells Neria he's in love with her)? I'm open to any of these scenarios or anything else you might come up with.
Loghain/F!Trevelyan - The Inquisitor's work is nonstop and Loghain has a small window where he's at Skyhold and then he's either lost to the Fade or on his way to Weisshaupt. When and where do they manage to squeeze in a relationship, and what happens to make them realize their attraction? I'd love to see the reactions of the other followers, and if they are apart maybe them teasing Trevelyan a bit about her DILF paramour.

dragon age: all characters (companions)
Iā€™ve been in this fandom for a hot minute now and I want to update my opinions on characters :)
Origins
Alistair: super sweet dude who literally is not the stereotypicalchantryguyfightme. Heā€™s a great example of healthy masculinity and I totally wish he was bi because I have an entire essay on thatā€” also: heā€™s a poc! His mum was brown. In game heā€™s got dark features. if you really want a blond/blue-eyes/white guy, make your warden that. or accept that brown people can be noble and moral. or just draw cailan, idk. just because BioWare whitewashes doesnā€™t mean you should.
Leliana: someone hug my singing girlfriend before I crush her under with my own hugs. Also: nugs. Yes! Shoes. Yes! She likes how I style my hair? YES!! I honestly think sheā€™s super duper and it pisses me off whenever someoneā€™s like: yeah she enjoys killing people and the Game. ok. and michel de chevin willingly participated in genocidal marches through the alienage he grew up in with his elvhen mum.Ā
Morrigan: dirty swamp witch that i stan and also have a v big crush on. tiddies. Have a son with a GW so we can raise him with our tiddies out in the forest. sheā€™s also white-passing, as her father was chasind and all people weā€™ve seen that are chasind are black. therefore, she is biracial. therefore, poc can be goths and donā€™t shy away from giving morrigan a darker skintone. if the devs had of been thinking, sheā€™d have a darker skintone.
Zevran: Actually is the best romance, I think. Loves consent, therefore I will stan him so hard my skull cracks a little. Also: he is a very brown boy and if heā€™s white in da4 Iā€™m seriously going to throw all canon out the fucking window. genuinely a good person who needs to be told so.Ā
Wynne: grandma who only likes my friends who go to church. but also super sweet and Iā€™d rest my head on her bosom (in a platonic way omg ZEVRAN)
Sten: angry quiet boi. the bestest boi. I totally would give him a kitten for a gift and bake him cookies. Thicc softie. I think if I had DA:O and i knew how to use mods i would mod the fuck outta him. sorry.
Sha(y)le: whoā€™s gender? idk her. See also: fuck birds and authority. pound ur ass into the ground you feathery meatbag little shits. fuck songbirds.
Dog: such a good boi. thicc. thinks Alistair is a whiny fuck and is Morriganā€™s only friend. love him. heā€™s the cutest companion. bet.
Ohgren: honestly forgot about him bcc heā€™s such a shitbag. also: he couldā€™ve been a really cool addiction recovery type but NOPE. probably would have a trump shirt in a modern au and would catcall wlw and hit mlm. no thanks.
Awakening
Anders: he acts like rlly straight but heā€™s so gay I can smell it. also heā€™s rlly cute and fun and I love him so much.
Justice: MAYBE iā€™M selF CONSCious OF THE twitchING. is the friend that genuinely doesnā€™t get dick jokes but is ur 110% ride or die.
Nathaniel Howe: honestly is sort of a white knight/neck beard a little, but itā€™s kind of charming with his whole velanna mā€™lady?? grump boi. annoying soul patch that Iā€™d mod out SO FASTā€”
Sigrun: would have ROMANCED the FUCK out of her. why she even entertains the idea of fucking with ohgren makes me realize most of the writers are dumbfucks.png. peppy little emo. 12/10 would die if she kissed my cheek teasingly.
Ohgren: why. why. why. Iā€™d have brought Shayle over. Maybe Zev? Definitely Dog.
Velanna: she was written to be an annoying feminist and you can tell but I deadass am a kindred spirit with her bcc I too am deadpan annoyed with Thedasā€™ general population too. love her. Wouldā€™ve loved to romance her. Sheā€™d totally be one of those whoā€™d get all tsundere and be like ā€œn-no i hate youā€ *kisses the fuckin soul out of you then blushes so hard sheā€™s now a tomato*
Dragon Age II
Anders: fuck the cops. i donā€™t care. fuck the cops. (vine reference). also: do i hate him for blowing up the chantry that would eventually annul a huge collection of his people? no. read dalishiousā€™s meta on Anders. v intriguing. didnā€™t they retcon the fuck out of the reported deaths too? like there was like eight Templars and Elthinia in there. Templars killed more ā€œabominationsā€ in a day than Anders in the game canonā€”
Aveline: initially thought she was fine and then realized sheā€™s shit to my lil brother and I will fucking clap her ginger ass. See also: whorephobia isnā€™t a joke so fuck off with treating Isabela badly, you tit.
Bethany: sunshine. Literal sunshine. I feel my freckles grow in her presence and i love it. sheā€™s my little baby sister and Iā€™d slam that ogre so fuckin hard before it touched either twin.
Carver: there has to be a mod where both twins survive. I love them both to bits. My babies. carver is my bitter, angry little brother and I can relate because I too am very angry and would totally clap my own ass. hes so genuine and I donā€™t get the competition between Beth and Carver. Like, both are fuckin stellar in different ways. In this essay I willā€”
Fenris: honestly, I donā€™t get the general hate between him and Anders. Fenrisā€™ main arc shouldā€™ve been a recovery arc, not drunken moping and revenge. he deserves better. give him a soft sweater instead of his spikes and let him love himself as much as I love him for MAKERS SAKE. like when you really think about their relationship, it couldā€™ve been an eye-opener for fenris and finally some legit sympathy for anders. but we all know that if they had of teamed up that Meredith wouldā€™ve been dead before the end of Act 1 so.
Isabela: whorephobia is not a joke. oversexualizing your only appearing brown woman is so poorly written. how about we appreciate her and her lovely bosoms but also let people tease her about her heart of gold? her innate understanding of freedom? instead of just a wave of dick? please?? can we give her some pants for when she fights? can we accept that i fall for rogues who hate themselves?? fuck. also whomever draws her x femHawke x Merrill literally is after my own heart.
Merrill: my fucking babygirl MARRY ME. Fenris couldā€™ve been her older brother type, but NO. she and Isabela shouldā€™ve been canonical gfs instead of Isabela/Fenris (no shaming the pairing tho!!). I love how sheā€™s written as neurodivergent. V nice. Sometimes I just look her up and cry because sheā€™s fucking everything. Also: sheā€™s in the Dalish origin and sheā€™s far from being white. Why did they make the most innocent/naĆÆve character really white? hmmmm.
Sebastian: whew that boy. Would totally be that annoying Mormon at your door but you still let him in bcc heā€™s super sweet. Also: huge ass bible thumper and should get his head slap because you said the maker loved all his children why do you defend a complicit old hag you annoying attractive fuckā€”
Varric: totally is a bard and the devs couldnā€™t handle the idea of him being one bcc it might make him look less straight. is the only grey morality person I donā€™t want to fucking bash in with a fry pan. he sees people and I like that, but you totally know heā€™s siding with mages every time bcc him and Anders are like besties. Iā€™m sorry. I donā€™t make the rules.Ā ā€œProfessional Younger Brotherā€.
Tallis: I know nothing about her but she seems okay. I think she was an escaped slave and honestly? Fucking props. Spy on a shitting organization, idk what youā€™re doing, but your VA was that cool lesbian from SPN so I think ur okay?
Inquisition
Blackwall: Redemption Arc 101. Love him to bits. Sad dad bunwall. good man. actually atoned for his sins by actively becoming a good person. his initial design is 80% hotter im so sorry but so not.
Cassandra: was way browner in the last game. would romance the fuck outta her. I love me a butch lady who melts at my dorky recitation of poetry. BioWare is a coward. also is the worst choice for divine. but not a bad person. could use some more guidance or get her ass whipped by a dalish elf about religion or a circle mage kid whos like ā€œyeah bud i didnā€™t ask for the templars to whip my ass everyday for existing.ā€
The Iron Bull: I think the Qunari/Vashoth were a little based off black people (the whole anti blackness thing where ppl are scared of them bcc of whatever reason) and it pisses me off that he had a weird ass dubcon thing with Dorian in banter. It doesnā€™t make senseā€” heā€™s an A+++ dom and would not jump straight in role play without at least checking in at first like wtf BioWare.
Cole: his mother was chasind so heā€™s like not supposed to be that white? or like biracial? albino? idk. love him to bits tho. Heā€™s neurodivergent and I deadass love him. romancing him? idk. I see why ppl think itā€™s fuckin nasty but also like as a writer Iā€™d age him the fuck up so fast before my inquisitor even THOUGHT about that. like idk. Iā€™m down with him being a sweet little bro character tho. heā€™s a babe. love him.
Sera: had the worst fucking writer Iā€™ve ever seen and I willingly read the twilight saga twice by a shit ass racist white lady who okayā€™d pedophilia. like. Fuck you Kristjanson suck your own dick you fuck. had the worst options in regards to speak to her. has a thicc case of internalized racism that literally most of the fandom just loves to use against her. my lesbian neurodivergent queen. Would write a thousand fix it fics for her. Love her to bits. im gay.
Varric: I havenā€™t played DA2 so i donā€™t get why everyone wants to romance him but like. a dwarf romance? yes please. Idk he reminds me of my uncle so I only see him as fun uncle material. Deadass should adopt Cole and Merrill and co parent with Blackwall for Sera. dads? fuck yeah. love me some wholesome, present fathers.
Dorian: is a gay stereotype that I love/hate so much. and heā€™s also just as bad about being a creep bcc he sexualizes qunari men (in banter). I attribute that to shit writing tho. I want to protect him from all the ā€œomg gay best friend!ā€ people. heā€™d clearly be that tired gay that wouldnā€™t give a diddly damn about ur het romance. wanna talk about politics? heā€™s ur guy/gay.
Solas: ā€œme, an intellectual:ā€. I donā€™t hate him, but Iā€™m not about him. He comes off as mysterious and suave (which he totally is) but I deadass would not save him from himself because heā€™s a racist, exclusionist eggshell. idk. not my cup of tea, but I can totally see the appeal. And heā€™s interesting, Iā€™ll totally say that. ā€œI think the Dalish are garbage but they made youā€ is not a compliment. itā€™s so offensive. and such bait for ā€œquirky girlsā€ which Iā€™m no fan of. Would be Achilles and let Patroclus (Lavellan in his case) die before he realized how his pride is literally a waste of time. If he gets a redemption arc I hope Lavellan gets to slap him before getting him to teach all about ancient Arlathan and show that the Evanuris werenā€™t all total dicknozzles. (Aka I really have a hard time believing that theyā€™d be slavery cult things. especially since theyā€™ve compared elves to indigenous ppl, Jews and the Romani.)
Vivienne: itā€™s so racist that theyā€™d make a black woman be pro-slavery. Thatā€™s such internalized racism. She couldā€™ve been the cool ass ā€œeducate yourself first before you speak, foolā€ ice lady, but NO. the devs couldā€™ve kept the ā€œTemplars are a tool that I proudly can mandateā€ and the ā€œcircles are very good educationā€ and we. Could. Have. Romanced. Her. Like. Fuck. Sake. I just wanna give her a hug and sayĀ ā€œlove yourself omg!!ā€ and not even in a romantic way. Also: she and morrigan should not have been so antagonistic towards each other. Iā€™d expect them to have great respect for each other, as they both moved up in the world through hardwork and very little help. They could learn different magic from each other too and still maintain that rival respectĀ ā€œoh youā€ mood. Sidenote: probably the cooler option for Divine. if her approval is high enough sheā€™ll love and be loyal to you forever and i canā€™t see her agenda being bad. she improves the circles exponentially and tells all the antis to suck her pretty painted toes.
Josephine: an actual disney princess. romanced her my first playthrough. I love her so much. she just makes me so happy. And sheā€™s like: ā€œIntegrity, Loyalty, peace. That is what it means to be a GREY WARDEN good fucking person.ā€ sheā€™s the person who would let you hold her hand if you got anxious and sheā€™d be that person who shouldered the whole group project with finesse and poise and would probably lie for everyone as to not be mean. i love josie. her and lelianaā€™s relationship is so cute, too. whether itā€™s romantic or not: women supporting women.
Leliana: if you leave her hardened you must hate her. why. she becomes so against herself. i like how shes feminine and lighthearted because thatā€™s so powerful-- to remain hopeful when the world is hopeless. (its hard to know when to soften her/harden her so i get it but. google it. she deserves to be happy and sweet again.)
Cullen: uwu war criminal with shit assĀ ā€œredemption arcā€ that was actually a half-assed (at BEST) recovery arc. Recovery isnā€™t linear, it isnā€™t pretty, and even the broken need to be told they are wrong in order to heal right. Like Iā€™m offended by that bullshit. Iā€™ve had to do some mental health recovery in the past and unlearning lots of toxic ideologiesā€” which Iā€™m still unlearningā€” and it bothers me that he gets an easy pass because heā€™s hot. Itā€™s one thing if you like Cullen, itā€™s another thing if you hold him accountable.

Kaaras and Stenn
Tumblr media
// Before Kaarasā€™ romance during Inquisition, heā€™s only ever been in one serious relationship. I wanted to talk more about who that was as an updated post because Iā€™ve got some old ones floating around as well that are incredibly outdated.
Meet Stenn (now that I have pics of him!):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stenn is a Talā€™Vashoth warrior, who was a Sten under the Qun. He was a fair few years older than Kaaras, in his 30ā€²s when they met (Kaaras was in his early 20ā€²s).Ā
While Kaaras never lost his penetrative virginity (and itā€™s something he doesnā€™t lose until his Inquisition LI), he did fool around quite a lot no thanks to his liquid courage.Ā
He ultimately wanted to help him.Ā
Kaaras suffered the whole lot, the night sweats, the physical agony of coming off alcohol, the shaking, the irritation--all of it, and Stenn was there the whole time while he detoxed.
Unlike Kaaras, Stennā€™s morals were lower and he didnā€™t mind breaking the law for coin.Ā
Even though Kaaras was a young mercenary captain, heā€™d proven himself a good leader over the years and people were willing to follow him.Ā
While he and Stenn attempted to write here and there, the wounds were just a little too raw for Kaaras to always get in contact with him--and his duty as Captain took priority. Theyā€™d simply grown apart too much, and that was fine.Ā
That he was able to grow, to sober up, to explore and learn so much about himself, and because of that, he will always love him.Ā

A very very late Fictober prompt
I was actually in the middle of writing this one when October ended. So I figured I'd finish it up and post it as my last hurrah.
==
Prompt 19 "Yes, I admit it, you were right."
Dragon Age : Origins set before the Singer of Magic timeline. Happens soon after the conversation in prompt 12.
Rating general? The first conversation between Alistair and Zevran concerning Majin Surana and a possibility of being a poly relationship.
==
Alistair took a look around camp. Majin was off with Leliana, Morrigan and Sten, trying to find some sword. Wynne was in her tent, to escape, as she put it, "the stench of dwarf and dog."
Shale was glaring at the trees nearby, supposedly on watch but probably plotting how to kill birds as efficiently as possible. Oghren was in a drunken stupor, muttering in his sleep by his tent. Of course, Khasta was off doing Maker knew what, probably rolling in something dead.
And Zevran was by the fire, stirring some concoction together. Alistair felt an instant distrust, and considered ways he could beg off eating. The loud growl coming from his stomach made that impossible, so with a sigh he sat, near enough to the fire without getting too close to the assassin.
Surreptitiously, he regarded Zevran. He was tasting a creamy sauce, eyes closed, then reached into his belt pouch and added a few herbs in before tasting it once more. At least, since he was eating it himself, it probably wasn't poisoned, Alistair reasoned.
Majin wanted them to get to know each other. He didn't know if it would really be worth it, in the long run, but he loved her. For her, he'd do almost anything.
Including make nice with an assassin.
A plate was shoved in front of him, startling him out of contemplating his love. It smelled... delicious, actually. Nothing at all like the stew Alistair usually made. He looked up, following the proffered arm, to see Zevran standing close.
Zev gave a quick smile and a small bow, saying, "Here is a peace offering."
Alistair narrowed his eyes. "No thanks, I'm good," he said automatically. Another complaint rose from his stomach, and he felt his ears burn. "Fine," he muttered, taking the plate. He stared at it. "What is it?"
"Ah, I was not sure if you'd have ever tried this. It was a gamble. This," Zevran gestured, "is chicken cordon bleu."
"Chicken what now?"
"It is an Orlesian dish, made with cheese, which is wrapped with bacon into the chicken." Zev continued for a minute, describing his process, but Alistair tuned him out; as soon as Zevran said cheese, Alistair knew he had to try it. If it was poisoned, well, at least he'd die happy. He took a bite, savoring the rich flavors.
"I see you like it." Zevran sounded amused. "Majin's advice was well worth the effort, then."
Alistair swallowed hard. "Majin... told you to make this?" He wasn't sure if he was touched or annoyed.
"Not this in particular, but she mentioned your love of cheese and suggested using it as a way to break the ice. It took me some time to find all the spices required; most Fereldans seem to think 'spice' is a naughty word."
Alistair didn't respond, opting to fill his mouth with more of the chicken thing. He didn't care what it was called, he wanted to eat all of it.
Zevran shifted slightly, as if nervous, then took a seat by Alistair. "May I be frank?" he asked.
"You can be Frank, George, or Calvin if you like," Alistair deflected.
Zevran hummed, his lips lifting slightly at the joke. "We need to have a discussion, you and I." He leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees and dropping his chin in his palm. "I was hoping that preparing a meal you would enjoy might help facilitate that."
"Right." Alistair put the plate down beside him. "Okay then. Talk."
There was silence for a long time. Alistair almost thought that Zevran had given up. He reached for the plate- no point in letting good cheese get cold- but the assassin's low voice finally broke the quiet of the night.
"I love her." Zevran was watching the flames, hands in front of him, dangling between his knees.
Alistair frowned. "How do you know?" he challenged. "Since I doubt you've ever loved anyone, it seems like it would be a foriegn concept to you."
Zev pursed his lips. "You know everything about me, then? My whole life's story?"
Alistair flushed. "Well, no," he admitted. "But you kill people for a living. Not much opportunity there for romance, I'd think."
"I loved two people, in my time with the Crows." Zevran looked distant, remembering. "And when the one I called brother told me my lover had betrayed us, I killed her without mercy."
Alistair gaped. "And that's supposed to make me trust you?" He jumped up and began pacing. He looked uneasily at the plate; what if it had been poisoned after all?
"I made a terrible mistake," was the soft answer. Alistair looked back, to see Zevran with his head bowed. "It was a lie, set up by our masters, designed to test my loyalty." When he looked up, his face was bleak. "It was why I accepted the contract against two Wardens."
"You didn't expect to survive, did you?" Alistair sank back down onto his seat.
"No. I didn't."
After a moment, Alistair gave a wry laugh. "That's our Majin. She turns everything topsy turvy, doesn't she?"
Some of the bleakness drained from Zevran. "'Our' Majin?" he asked.
Alistair rubbed the back of his neck self-consciously. "I mean... maybe?" he hedged, then sighed. "I suppose, if you wanted her all to yourself, it would be easy for you to kill me and make it look like an accident," he admitted.
"Oh extremely." Zevran laughed. "But that is the purpose of this discussion, is it not? To ensure that such action is not necessary for either of us."
Alistair found himself grinning. He couldn't help it, something about Zevran's ready smile was infectious. "Alright," he said, raising his hands in surrender. "Yes, I admit it, Majin was right, and I was wrong about you. At least a little."
"Thank you, my friend." Zev's face was open, friendly, and he seemed surprisingly relaxed. Alistair could, maybe, see what Majin was attracted to.
Zevran's smile grew wider. "If you continue watching me in such a way, Alistair, I'd almost think you'd wish to sample my not inconsiderable talents for yourself." He waggled his eyebrows suggestively.
Alistair sputtered, feeling his face getting red again. "N-no!" he said hastily, almost falling out of his seat trying to scoot backwards. Zevran burst out laughing, throwing his head back.
"Your face was priceless," he said, wiping his eyes with one hand. "Never worry. Unless you decide to broach it, I will not press for anything more intimate than a meal between us," he assured Alistair.
Alistair coughed, trying to cover his embarrassment as he righted himself in his seat. "Right. Good. I'll, uh, keep that in mind."

Note
For the prompt thing ā€œalright I love youā€
It's definitely no the best but here it be. (Also, side note, Peregrine/Ellowine is my OC Warden + Inquisitor, who romances Alistair in Origins + Cullen + Alistair in Inquisition).
Pairing: Alistair Theirin X OC F!Warden
Word Count: 1091
Rating: PG
"Alright, I love you."
Peregrine could only stare at the red headed warden, his amber eyes looking at anything but her. Sten scoffed, rolling his eyes, glancing between his boss and her fellow warden.
"As if that wasnt abundantly obvious to everyone here," Morrigan remarked, smirking when she noticed the frown on Zevrans lips. 'Or at least, everyone but the other idiot pinning for Peregrine's affections.'
"You what?" Her voice pitched, tongue flickering out absently to run across her lips. Alistair, who hadn't meant to confess his feelings to the mage like this, let alone in front of several of their companions, flushed deeper. Alistair's eyes briefly met hers before he whirled on his heel and all but sprinted out of camp. Peregrine stood stock still, yellow eyes moving to the faces of those who had been gathered to witness Alistair's confession, the necklace she had stolen from Arl Eamon still clutched in her palm.
"Well, that couldn't have been any worse," Sten deadpanned, shaking his head.
"It could have, she could have been foolish enough to tell him she loves him too." Morrigan laughed, looking to Zevran, assuming the Antivan would hop on any chance to rip on Alistair, but instead found him staring at Peregrine. Sighing, Sten reached up to rub his face,
"I will never understand your races." He grumbled, turning on his heel to head toward his tent for the night. Looking to Peregrine again, Morrigan watched her gaze drop to the necklace in her hand. 'Right, she and Zevran broke into Arl Eamons study to get that for Alistair.' Wynne, who had been sitting on the other side of the fire watching the events unfold, pushed herself to her feet.
"I believe this is the part where you chase after him, Grin," Wynne squeezed the younger mages shoulder, Peregrine offering an unsure nod in response before quickly taking off in the direction Alistair had run off in. "Young love," Wynne sighed, "so dramatic."
Peregrine followed the beaten path out of camp, the necklace she had been carrying now resting side the breast piece of her armor. 'Where did he go?' She frowned, yellow eyes moving around the dark forest. 'He couldn't have gotten far,' 'and wouldn't have,' another voice added, knowing he was well aware of how easy it was for darkspawn to pop up at night.
"I love you," she stopped, hearing Alistairs voice nearby, taking a sharp right. "As if she would be foolish enough to care about the bastard prince," he groaned, Peregrine coming to a halt behind the man. Alistair sat with his back to her, leaning against a large weeping willow, palms digging into his brown eyes. Picking up a rock that sat between his legs he hurled it into the small pond the camp had been using to bathe. Sighing in defeat, Alistair leaned his head back against the tree, Peregrine watching him close his eyes. Making her way over to Alistair she stopped to his left, contemplating sitting beside him. "Morrigan, if you came to throw insults at me, now is definitely not the time." Peregrine grinned, arching a silvery brow,
"You would prefer Morrigan? I can go back to camp and get her-," his eyes snapped open, cheeks flushing.
"No!" His cheeks flushed deeply, left hand shooting up to close around hers. "I mean, no, I would much rather have your company," he looked away. "If you still want my company after...," where his grip loosened, hers tightened, a small smile spreading across her lips.
"After...," she fished, allowing the prince to pull his hand away. She was giving him a chance to make a joke or take it back, knowing that he had grown up feeling unloved. 'Maybe the gifts I've given him were too much and he was speaking in the heat of the moment.'
"You're really going to make me say it again, arent you?" Her lips pulled into a frown, a soft sigh leaving her lips as he shook his head. Plopping down beside him, Peregrine shoulder him lightly, Alistair sliding over so she could lean against the willow with him.
"You dont have to say it again if you didn't mean it," she finally decided after they both had been silent. Reaching into her breast piece she tugged the pendent free and offered it to him. Alistair had reached for it before hesitating, brown eyes searching hers.
"You don't think I meant it," he questioned, Peregrine immediately looking away from him. Deftly, she pushed the pendent at him again, giving him no other choice but to accept it.
"Alistair, you grew up being pushed around and then abandoned by the people you thought loved you. I can understand why you would, in the heat of the moment, say something you didnt mean because... because you aren't use to people being kind to you. I dont want you to-," Alistair shook his head briefly, Peregrines words dying on her tongue.
"You really are foolish," she could hear the mirth in his voice before he pulled her towards him, his warm lips pressing against hers. Grinning, Peregrine reached up, cool fingers sliding into Alistairs hair as they continued kissing. Breaking the kiss, Alistair smiled warmly, pressing his forehead to hers. Flushing, Peregrine broke eye contact, unable to look him in the eye when he looked at her like... like that. "Alright alright, you love me," she tried to joke, lips curving into a smirk when his right eyebrow quirked. "And I guess I... I love you too," Alistair scoffed playfully, dark eyes dropping to her lips, the flush returning to his cheeks.
"So... does this mean I can kiss you again," grinning like a complete fool, Peregrine closed the space between them, happy to have found solstice in the dark eyed man despite the pending threat that lay ahead of them. 'And, your eventual return home to Tevinter, where you'll never see him again.' Ignoring the sprout of dark thoughts, Peregrine allowed herself to be pulled to her feet by the handsome man. "Should we be getting back to camp," he asked rather shyly, rubbing his jaw. Smiling, Peregrine reached out, lacing their fingers together.
"I'm in no rush to get back to camp if you aren't, Alley Cat," Alistair shouldered her lightly at the nickname though he couldn't fight the large smile that spread across his lips.
"Could I maybe escort you around the pond then, Lady Ellowine?" Peregrine flinched lightly at being called her fake name but nodded nonetheless.
"Yes, I would like that very much."

hi! i'm huuuge fan of your writing. everytime you write something new i'm running as fast as i can to read it (it could be your groceries list, really, i would have the same reaction). so! i've been wondering... you don't write much of dragon age origins, is there a particular reason? also, sorry for any typos, english is not my first language (and my hate for capital letters)
Aw hey, thank you so much for this comment ā€” Iā€™m so glad you enjoy my work! šŸ„°ā¤šŸ™
As for DA:O ā€” the main reason Iā€™ve written so little for Origins is that Iā€™m not super fired up by any of the canon romances. All of my stories are primarily focused on romance (and smut, obviously! lol!), and I genuinely didnā€™t expect Sten to be my DA:O husband, but whatā€™s a girl to do when the big and broody but soft-hearted love of your Wardenā€™s life is one of the companions that you canā€™t actually romance? šŸ˜
I wrote Fall Into The Tide to soothe my love for Sten and apparently to break my own heart into pieces, and until DA4 comes out, thatā€™s about all Iā€™m really interested in exploring in terms of romance for the DA:O crew.
This isnā€™t to say I think the DA:O LIs are bad ā€” not at all! Theyā€™re just not to my particular taste, thatā€™s all.
Also, donā€™t even worry about your English ā€” it was totally fine! And I also NEVER use caps when Iā€™m messaging so I feel you there. šŸ˜‚
- tons of love from your friendly neighbourhood Pikapeppa xoxo

I feel guilty every time I boot up Dragon Age Origins or Dragon Age 2, because I always romance the same people: Leliana and Fenris respectively. Like... I love all of DA:Os romance options. (I was so sad you cant romance Morrigan as a girl UGH she was my first choice my first playthrough. I tried to romance Sten afterwards and was DISAPPOINTED AGAIN but I love Leliana so much so it all worked out) I want to romance Alistair and Zevran and Morrigan (Alistair and Zevran more so because I accidentally led Alistair on somehow and he gave me a rose and I felt so guilty when i was like "Im with Leiliana" and Zevran because i feel like he needs love. like. emotional love. i know he bones alot asdfghjkl) but I just.... cant say no to Leliana ;w; the wifeeeyyy
AND FENRIS OH MAN i love him so much too???? I'm a sucker for voices and his is like *kisses fingers like an italian chef* (Leilana's too I love her accent but Fenris's is just SO GOOD) I love all of DA2's romances except for one who shall go unnamed because how DARE they but Fenris is just... so sweet??? He might seem rough around the edges and we might not see eye to eye when it comes to maged but I'm so glad I romanced him my first playthrough. I wanna romance Merrill because what an ABSOLUTE DARLING and Isabela because man am i glad i'm some faction of gay but then.... f-fenris.... i cant not love him ;w; he deserves so much love i love my husband
I'm currently playing through Dragon Age Inquisition for the first time and I'm having so much fun with it, and seeing my past romances pop up in story is great. I wish I played as a dude so I could romance Dorian, since he's been my favorite new character added in, BUT I ended up romancing Iron Bull (Sten this was the closest I could do I miss u) and with the exception of one of his personal missions for his romance, Its been a trip every step of the way. I cant wait to see what happens further into the game with him (Josephine was a very close second option but Iron Bull beat her out just barely)
Long story short, I'm overly invested in my DAO and DA2 romance choices (especially DA2 I've had the nerve to write fanfic about FenHawke because *clenches fist* goddamn do I love them) and I hope that when it comes to DAI I feel the same way, even if its not after my first playthrough
i wish more of my friends played Dragon Age because I need people to talk about it with because i have alot of pent up emotions ESPECIALLY about DA2 *slams hands on table* ITS SO FUN
This got long im so sorry
