✭ Apollo Justice✭

Today I decided that I will do more full page drawings of AA characters. Unfortunately I don't think I drew a very good Apollo, but in my defence AA is the frist franchise I've hyperfixated over were I've not only cared about the more than one or two male characters but also have had a few of my favourite characters be male! So I'm much more comfortable drawing female characters (⁠´⁠-⁠﹏⁠-⁠`⁠；⁠)

Also I didn't change up his design aside from giving him the brown shoes he has in the AJ: trilogy promotional art instead of black shoes he has in older official art because I like it and it's actually my second fave lawyer suit design (favourite is Diego Armando's suit).

Anyways I've also decided I'll share my hc's for these characters for as long as I do this series :D, because I didn't share hc's for Athena on her post I'll share both Apollo and Athena hc's below, spoilers for AA4-6:

Both Apollo and Athena are trans and both socially transitioned as kids and grew up in trans supportive environments cuz in my mind the AA universe is queer friendly to balance out how dystopian their legal system is.

Apollo has no fashion sense aside from having a surprisingly good eye for men's formal/professional wear. So good in fact that Kristoph wouldn't of hired him if his suit looked bad (cuz he's that petty).

Apollo doesn't see Phoenix as a Dad but does simultaneously see him as a role model (though he'd never admit it) and hate him

he does however see Trucy as a little sister, even before learning she is actually his half sister

Apollo is gay and Athena is lesbian cuz one day I thought "hmmm image if the lawyers were trans and MLM and WLW solidarity?" and than it became a hc :P

I ship Apollo with Klavier and I like to think that Phoenix tries to give Apollo dating advice but Apollo ignores him because his advice is terrible! (Not on purpose, Phoenix is just really bad at relationships but it's works out for him cuz his partners are always just as bad, or somehow even worse at relationships than him)

however unlike Apollo I don't ship Athena with anyone, just don't feel like it lol

Athena met Phoenix in Europe at a park one of the many times Miles had him and Trucy come over to visit, by chance Trucy was doing magic tricks for random people in the park and Athena was one of these people. She was reading a book to study for the bar exam so Phoenix immediately talked to her about law after Trucy's trick.

Athena is fully multilingual (knowing most active European languages) and says non-english words by accident most of time (if she does it on purpose it's always to sound cooler in her opinion).

also I hc Athena as Austic cuz I can >:-)

Widget uses a Voicaloid sound bank, personally I like it imagine it's specifically Oliver because that's funny to me.

Widget also uses a custom OS that Aura Blackquill designed specifically for all the tech she built with Athena's mom.

why leon x kaito ?? well for one (and i hate to say this) i never really liked gakukai, like i can see the appeal and i wont bash it but its just not for me,, i could say kaimei is kind of cute and that whole "being literally made for eachother" thing is also quite nice but i break out in a rash when i try to draw straight couples (slahs jay i have nothing against the heteors), BUT ALSO, leon x kaito is good, not just because i dont like other popular kaito ships, but also because its just good,, theyre the first 2 male vocaloids, part of the original 4 daisy project vocals, a couple of the only 5 v1loids, so they have like old married couple vibes to me, like theyve been together for so long that it would be weird for them to be apart, theyve just always been together yk,, also i like how they were NOT "made" for eachother, like how leon and lola were a pair, and kaito and meiko were one, so kaito x leon goes against that,, its like those queer fantasy stories/ oc universes i somtimes come across like "this PRINCE was in an ARRANGED MARRAGE with this PRINCESS, but hes GAY and shes GAY IN THE OTHER WAY", like they werent supposed ot be gasp, but they are anyway gasp. like theres no forces opposing leon x kaito but it just kind of like wasnt intended when they were created, and i just like the comfort in their queerness that they have

you might now be thinking htough, "dont the exact same things apply to lola x meiko ??" and the answer is yes i will be drawing them too. i might have drawn meiluka in the past but that was peer pressure and that ship also just kind of never was it for me, so lola x meiko it shall be.

i love the idea of the 4 daisy project vocaloids just all hanging out, like theyre all good friends, maybe they all live together slendermans creppypasta mansion style, and theyre just very mlm wlw solidarity,, or hostility either would work. they are basically all parents to the younger loids an di grergerhhhhhhhhh,,,

in otherwords leon x kaito real, as well as lola x meiko

oh also this is my own leon design, i dont have a ref drawn up but feel free to draw it this design yourself if you want to,, i think that that whitewashed leon character mascot probably has a place within the fandom, seeing as its the most commonly accepted mascot for the first ever vocaloid, but it just does not work as a protrayl of leons voice. he can be a fanloid or smthing, but actual leon is voiced by slahs modeled on a black person, same with lola, so they are both black too. my design is a bit plain and heavily based on cfm character vocal series, so ill probably work on it more in the future

sorry for all this writing but i need to make leon x kaito propaganda, as i dont think ive ever seen anyone ship them outside of "kaito x fucking everyone as long as it passes as yaoi", and i need them to be real they have been on my mind a lot recently

Give me your honest opinion on Mondo and Rantaro 👀👀👀

Oo okay (I'm so sorry that this has been sitting in my ask box for so long)

Mondo:

Favorite Thing: I love it when the big intimidating characters like smaller animals. Like you think this guy would like Pitbulls or Rottweilers or something, but nope. Also, I would kill for his jacket, it looks so cool!

Least Favorite Thing: This is difficult for me, I don't necessarily hate anything about his character (other than his hair, he's all you would be getting from me if I could draw his fucking hair). I guess that he's a little quick to choose violence, poor Chihiro (and Makoto). Definitely chapters 1 and 2 Fuyuhiko vibes.

Favorite Line: He has so many funny lines in the anime but I'm gonna stick to the game. Going through his voice lines, he's so fucking useless during the trials but he has a lot of funny back-and-forths with other characters. I like the one at the beginning of the first trial where him and Taka go back and forth a little bit. "Don't be a goddamn idiot. Why the hell would they raise their hand?"

BrOTP: Already said him and Leon for Leon's. I would love to see him interact more with Sakura and Aoi, though. Maybe they can teach him there are better ways to release your anger. Okay, maybe Sakura can teach both of them that lesson.

OTP: Ishimondo is an obvious one, absolute sucker for enemies to lovers. Though he mentions that he yells when talking to someone he has a crush on iirc and homie is always yelling so I am inclined to believe that he's had at least the passing thought of "oh, they're attractive/cool" with all of his classmates whether he likes it or not (bisexual struggles ig)

NOTP: Idk, I don't really like victim x blackened ships, so Chihiro, I guess. They can be besties, though

Random Headcanon: iirc in his graduation event, he tells Makoto he'll build a house for him once they get out, so I like to think he's a yes-man when it comes projects. You make an offhand comment about needing more storage? Bam! He's on your doorstep the next day with a homemade chest to keep all your shit in. His love language is definitely gift giving.

Unpopular Opinion: His and Rantaro's are going to be similar, but the butter jokes get old after seeing it constantly (admittedly, I am guilty for making these jokes when I first joined the fandom and I still make some out of habit every now and then). Jokes about his hair are always welcome, though.

Song I Associate With Them: I haven't thought about this too too much so these are off the top of my head. Bad Bad Things by AJJ, Achilles Come Down by Gang of Youths, and Shit by Bo Burnham

Favorite Image: I couldn't find it, but I think it's like a promotional art or something where it's just a bunch of characters sitting around, and he's just like patting Taka on the head. Very cute 10/10 (I pray you guys know what image I'm talking about). Also this one is so funny

Rantaro:

Favorite Thing: He's so cryptic, and it's so good. He doesn't give us shit in the time he's around (minus FTEs), and I love it!

Least Favorite Thing: I don't dislike anything about him personality or writing wise tbh. His side profile haunts my nightmares, though.

Favorite Line: I would go with the classic "You wanted this killing game, so you have to win no matter what" but instead I'm going with "I was just thinking, what you said back there would have pissed off whoever's running this. They definitely don't want us holding hands, workin' together...They're going to come for you, Kaede. With everything they've got. I'm a little worried about you. You're just so...straightforward." Rantaro is secretly the Ultimate Clairvoyant lol

BrOTP: Him and Kaede are mlm and wlw solidarity and you cannot convince me otherwise.

OTP: I don't really ship him with anyone, but I really liked his Salmon Mode with Shuichi

NOTP: Him and Tsumugi, hands down

Random Headcanon: I like to think he is constantly dying his hair. It's just a faded green because he hasn't been able to redo it for two seasons, and he's going insane because of it.

I don't have specific ships I prefer for KAITO, tbh-- KaiLuka I suppose I gravitate towards, KaiMiku can be cute... KaiKai depends on what KAITO's are being paired off, how they work well together, and also that they aren't being considered brothers / related or something

KaiGakupo also depends on the persons interpretations, and also how well they mesh the colors together in art-- like, certain shades of the blues and purples look bad in my eyes, but some look good and the two look really good!

...what other ones are there... KaiMas is cute even if I am deeply uncomfortable with the 'master' term-- just. Person who owns Vocaloid Program and KAITO falling in love with them. extra points if yandere kaito

....no other ones jump out to me in my mind, that I have specific feelings about....

Kaito + Rin as platonic / familial, as just a duo, is cute, but not shipping because that feels incredibly weird to me... Kaito + Len is in the same boat too for me personally... (KAITO and Kagamine Duo best trio)

...on that note while KaiLuka is cute to me, I also gravitate more to it being platonic too, mostly because I see KAITO as gay. mlm x wlw solidarity?
