Funny how pretendian chicanos can't even contribute to getting their people up let alone construct the "state of aztlan" and yet they get twice as mad as the average israeli when I make that comparison I have people calling me racial slurs all over the place
#not on here because theres not enough mexican americans on here for there to be an army of racists#which is saying something about the numbers bc 7 in 10 people are racist as hell in one way or another#this one guy was telling me I should be grateful for the ''new aztec empire'' empire where you live in fucking texas and your wifes white#chicanismo

I probably sent a lot of these now im so sorry lmfao 😅
You mentioned in one of the asks that some countries are like a prototype/based of our existing countries, like Germany=Mondstadt, Liyue=China, Inzauma=Japan....
So even though the language is more or less identical for you to make heads and tails in a conversation or writing in a book, the reverse side does not.
Creator!Reader who knows a couple of languages (plus points if they're atleast fluent or have a understanding of it despite not being able to speak said language) and being born from a country that doesnt have the same language as the countries Teyvat based off. Basically Spanish, Italian, Filipino, Scandinavian languages that also have their own way of writing.
Imagine feeling homesick and the only thing that keeps you occupied is the notebook and pen you have while the others converse in a meeting or in a hangout. You started writing in your tongue and re-reading it to relive memories.
Zhongli, AlHaitham, Albedo, Jean, maybe the Berry bros too (Diluc & Kaeya) get curious only to have a double-take and immediately thinks that maybe there is a forgotten land in Teyvat that has this language, I mean Morax stayed faithful to Liyue and Barbatos blessed his country with abundance of supplies and freedom. Teyvat gods and archons played favourites, so why wouldn't you as well? (Bonus: Khaenriah flashbacks) (also I know these arent enough characters but how should I know? I only have a handful of them and I ran out of Primos😭
The people from Akademiya though? I mean they went hard on theorizing and picking apart the language of their creator. Have you seen Matpat's descent to insanity the more FNAF continues to push out LoRe? Thats basically them because Teyvat doesn't have a country based on Creator's birth country. They're grasping nothing but air and dead ends and the only lead they have is you, but couldnt ask because you look so down and they cant bear to see Creator sad....
(NEW BANNER TOMORROW AND I DONT HAVE ENOGH PRIMOGEMS HALP---)
Rip Vine boom no primos 🙏 hope u got some more by this time bc i was so late to reply lol - DUDE IM SO READY FOR THE GORG KAVEH <333
BERRY BROS!! Thats it, thats the only way im gonna refer to them now.
Not super long to add onto ur bc UR SO SMART AND SUCH A GOOD WRITER VINEBOOM U SHOULD ALSO WRITE STUFF SO I CAN GO OBSESS OVER UR WRITING WITH A MILLION FERAL COMMENTS-!!!
(Cute owl house gif is like, metaphorially u and zhongli in this lol)
EDIT 8/23/23: So this may be inaccurate/not that good to my Hispanic Readers out there! Sorry about that, I'l make sure to do better in the future.
EDIT 1/1/24: Unfortunately there are even more issues here, and I'm really sorry about that. I expanded on it more in my Eldritch fanfic post in Part 2, but it was exoticism of me to use the word "Huangdi". I have since replaced it with "Emperor", and don't intend to just erase the mistake like it never happened. But I did change it in the headcanons for better readability. Again, I'm genuninely sorry about this, and will absolutely be watching out/doing better in the future. I hope you understand.
THIS SOUNDS SO SAD, LIKE THIS COULD DEF BE ANGST, ESP SINCE U HAVE NO FAMILIAR-ISH CULTURE TO TURN TO-
tbh im american and i def dont think theres a u.s. country- oh god at least I hope not, damn but im also familiar with mexican culture so i wouldnt miss the united states, but id miss mexican culture…
BUT!!
You have a lot of amazing people who care about you in Teyvat, so they won’t let you stew in ur homesickness for long
like random said, i could see it being small stuff
ok so imma just-
LATINO! READER TIME BABBYYYYY
(i do this bc its just the culture/language im more familiar with, but dont let that discourage anyone from requesting other cultures! I will def do my research, or ur welcome to tell me all about it so i can write it better! <3)
THAT BEING SAID IM MOSTLY WHITE PLS LMK IF SHIT IS WRONG/SPANISH IS WRONG BC IM STILL A BEGINNER MY BELOVED LATINES!
<3 YOU GUYS
♡
you’ve been in the game-turned-life world of Genshin Impact for nearly 6 months now, turns out time isnt wonky as hell like it is if you were playing the game, half bc u bribed Albedo with answers to his many questions about you if he figured out the time difference, and half bc of ur internal clock
people would notice the cuss words first lmao
like Xiao hearing u stubbing ur toe on the million and one steps up to Wangshu Inn, hijueputa!
or Keqing pointing out the words you coo at the dogs hanging out by the bridge outside the harbor,
un perrito tan buenoooo!! :’)
while most would just, " hmm, maybe a dialect of one of the other countries we havent heard…"
but Zhongli? he’s been ready for centuries in case the prophecy came true within his lifetime, afterall, many things changed while he’s been alive, not crazy to him that you might descend randomly
While everyone else was unprepared, bc u were like… the oldest deity, more legend than history, so ppl just thought Morax was a little overly faithful …so when it actually happened,, Morax was just smirking as he watched ur golden shooting star streak the night sky… while absolute pandemonium consumed the mortals and adepti in liyue lmao
(like that scene of Regina George in Mean Girls watching the student body break out into an all out brawl just smirking 😭 pls god look it up if u dont know what i mean- )
So Morax- Zhongli, has been ready for you, just in case, to pay attention to what kind of person you’d be, learn your favorite clothes/colors/offerings, see what things you’d like to talk about with him (hopefully for hours) etc.
He was observant, and with his memory, he practically gave himself headaches sometimes with how aware he was,
on one of those days he was overwhelmed by the mortal crowds, the smells, the market yelling, and all the change from what he thought he knew-
Zhongli noticed you in your own melancholy, and curious, he began to stroll just behind
You sit at Wanmin restaurant, still somber, and ask Xiangling to
“please try out these recipes? they’re from my world, and id really love to have something like them again..”
a true experimental chef as always, Xiangling quickly takes up your offer, and u follow her into the kitchens in the back (the restaurant is much more real than in game, they have gorgeous inside seating, all shades of red coloring the walls and lots of pretty latticework-)
Zhongli takes a seat finally, he has a usual table at this point he comes in so much coughtorunintoyoucough the staff know it's his and give him tea pretty quickly
the food, and the looks, makes it your favorite restaurant in Liyue, the Liuli Pavilion a little too fancy for casual dining, afterall, Zhongli would know
He’s tried to keep track of your favorite places to be in Liyue too, and kept his near full attention on what you say when he asks after your stays in Liyue (he hasn’t felt the need to pay that much attention or felt that much interest in conversation partners in… decades?)
So when you come out of the kitchen, throwing your head back and laughing, "Sí, sí! It all tastes so close Xiangling! Gracias, thank you!"
He wants… to know.
to know what those strange, but delicious looking, foods are all balanced on two big dinner plates
Xiangling carrying whatever you couldn’t just behind, a pitcher of white liquid, it smells, like cinnamon?
He raises a hand, and offers the extra seats at his table, (when did his tea go cold? he only just sat down, he couldn’t have spent that long thinking about you…)
You notice and look over, a giddy grin lighting up your face (…hmm, perhaps he needs to transform into his Exuvia form and let off some steam, his chest has warmed too much right now for him to just be sitting here…)
You plop into the seat beside him, but not before carefully placing the plates in front of both you and Zhongli
You scootch around until you’re turned towards him, as always, Zhongli looks… actually kind of, happy?
a small soft smile pulls at his lips, his eyes half-lidded as they meet yours, his usual red eyeliner framing his monolids perfectly, he looks like he’s been,, well, sculpted from stone, an artwork come to life
“…My Emperor? Could I trouble you to tell me about the dishes before us?”
the geo god’s pleasantly smooth and deep voice felt so soft asking you that, like he didn’t want to push you one direction or the other
“Oh! Right! Sorry, these are from my home country, back in my world, or at least, as close as Xiangling and I can get to them!”
Your smile brightens your face once more, clearing away any leftover stormclouds from your mood earlier, and as you launch into explaining (Xiangling had to get back to orders, so it’s just you two now)
You list it all, the quintessential: quesadillas, empanadas, tamales, chorizo (you had to combine at least 5 different spices to Mondstadt sausages to get anywhere close to the real thing) the dips obviously, salsa, queso, guacamole, and the easy street tacos, and finally the horchata, but also all the weird fruits Teyvat has with chile, like Sunsettias mixed with Harra from Sumeru or Lavender melons with Wolfhook berries… all surpringly pretty good
(the Sun-Harra combo tastes like mango, a sort of deeper taste of pineapple/kiwi and a sort of light orange taste? all with the nice addition of chile flavors, the Lavender melons and Wolfhooks helped imitate chamoy enough that your heart was satisfied)
…you realize you’ve just been talking about the last meal you had with your family/friends instead of the food after a bit, and Zhongli hasn’t said anything…
you trail off and look back over your shoulder (u were practically about to get your shirt in the imitation guac u were leaning so far over the table to point and talk)
you’re about to sheepishly apologize for taking over the conversation, and ask if he wants to try anything (Zhongli can handle spice so u dont have to worry abt that at least)
but as u finally see his face, u just stop, and dont end up saying anything
He’s just, looking at you.
his smile's not huge, but big enough to make his eyes look happy, and Zhongli’s just… looking at you.
You can’t describe the look he’s giving you, but you suddenly feel… a wave of shyness wash over your heart in your chest, because he’s looking almost like, maybe like, he’s sort of, waiting for you to keep talking, his tan skin warm in the golden rays of the sun beginning to set, you don’t know why you’re noticing any of these things, and he gently, slowly, makes a move to lean into your space a little
almost above your armrest, head inches from your shoulder, he finally moves to stop looking at you-
He looks like a painting as he looks down, his eyelashes almost sitting on his high cheekbones,
you have to move your head to looking at the table too as he moved so close,
you feel your shoulders reflexitively hitch upwards as you brushed the hair on the side of his head as you turned away
He looks around, and then moves his head, not his body, he’s still leaning toward you, to look you right in the eyes again
“Why did you stop? I haven’t said much, I apologize, but it’s only because I wanted to hear you without anything interrupting you.”
You cough a little strained, “Oh! Oh I get it now yeah, thanks-”
“I want to hear you more,” his black eyes begin to warm with gold, you can vaguely see the shape of his diamond pupil revealing itself, “I want to hear about… everything, if you’ll tell me? The language, the food, the drinks, your family, your dances, your country, I want to hear it all. Won’t you please let me hear your voice some more?”
♡

You know what i've been thinking about? If Aaron was raised on the island, what would his accent be? Cause you see all those studies of the people of multiple countries coming together in remote places having children and their accents are something unheard of. Totally new accent. So by that would Aaron's accent be something like that? A mash of British/Australian/American/Korean/Iraqi/ whatever is wrong with Ben, like a totally new accent. Of course, I'm just condensing like Sawyer has his YeeHaw accent and Mike has a more New York, Hurley is Mexican and while he has an American accent in English when Speaking Spanish It's probably not that sooooo I'm just so curious on if they never left what the fuck their accent would be like. Plus, if they stayed on the island and Jin Suns kid was born there and in the future more babies would they inherit the same accent? Like say in this scenario Juliet/Sawyer or Kate/Jack or even fucking Charlie/desmond had children would they too inherit this new dialect/Accent thats contained to them only?Like would they create their own unique accent?, and when Aaron gets older he gets with Ji Yeon (which is so funny like the show runners were like yeah at the end they're still watching Bluey, we should totally imply they get together as adults) So if they hypothetically do get together in this idea where they never leave the island would their children help develop this complete unique accent?
funnily enough, you're pretty much describing what caused the australian accent to begin with. they plopped a ton of english and irish people here, added alcohol and a brand new fucked up way to talk was born
yes, studies show that a child's accent comes more from their enviroment more than their parents! hence why i have an adelaide aussie accent rather than my mum's southern english accent. because i grew up here. this also explains why daniel sounds american as opposed to his english mother. thats actually how it works (tho daniel also went to oxford during his teens so he should sound at least a bit more english but be glad we were spared jeremy attempting that)
i like this idea!
okay so, i think in regular world of lost, aaron grows up to have an american accent but with aussie turns of phrase. because i imagine aaron to be raised by claire and kate, in america. and also sawyer, miles, richard and frank are part of his life too. so claire is really outnumbered here. but he refers to her as "mum"
in this au where everybody stays on the island forever? ...probably still american because holy shit theres a lot of americans on this show but you're right, it could be at least a little muddled. i don't think it'd turn into an immediate frankenstein melting pot of aussie, england (north and south), american (yeehaw and otherwise), korean, iraqi and scottish because thats not exactly how accents work, it would take longer. but certain words and phrases would mix in aaron and ji yeon's (and the other hypothetical babies) little brains. and like certain pronunciations would probably be off. like, they'd be somewhat uncanny. also it's probable that these versions of aaron and ji would be so fucking good at accent impressions. oh and in this world, i like to think aaron can speak korean because he'd hear it around him a lot
so i think yeah the next gen in that AU would sound like,,, kinda weird sounding americans? so basically canadians
i've done my own recreational study of linguistics and phonetics in my time but i'd love to hear about this from somebody who knows more about this stuff than me. that'd be neat
also bless you for taking the take to adknowledge that not all the american accents are the same in this show (or in real life). i know i glide past it sometimes but its a fact i'm very aware of too
oh, oh, since you brought this up:
"Hurley is Mexican and while he has an American accent in English when Speaking Spanish It's probably not that sooooo"
i will take the opptunity to once again say that while hurley's voice is whiny american when he's speaking english (in a cute way! no dunk!), when he's speaking spanish his voice is absolutely beautiful
i realise that spanish accent > american accent isn't exactly a hot take but it blows me away because its coming out the same guy
thank you for allowing me to bring that up again. and for your time
#i always end long forms of text in ''thank you for your time'' its a quirk of mine#yeah you heard me#canadian is uncanny valley american. change my mind

The new spirit movie being made, simply put, isnt all that great (originally, I’d put trash, but I thought that was too strong a word to use on the internet.) Heres why: To start off, I’d like to give synopsis (summary??) of the first movie.
In the original, Spirit, the horse, is captured by the colonizers and separated from his herd. These colonizers attempt to “tame” him. Claiming all horses can be tamed, including stallions with enough power and control. The colonizers breach onto the horses land and are expanding westward, which is how they even get near the herd in which spirit is in. The only reason he even nears them is because he doesnt know who the colonizers are and is basically confused as to what they were. So now because theyve captured Spirit, they think that ‘oh he’s just a wild horse, we can tame him by showing him whos boss” they dont. Spirit is, as its said, an untamed soul. He CANT BE TAMED, or as Little Creek put it, shouldnt be tamed. Because his place is with his herd, running free. The eagle in spirit is a symbolism of the freedom. Whenever the eagle is there, it serves as a reminder not only to the audience, but to Spirit himself that he is a wild horse, a Free horse.
Now, Little Creek, the Lakota native american, shares ALOT of similarities to Spirit(which is where Im getting at). Natives as we know, have been treated terribly, in the most inhumane ways. Theres alot said about helping out poc, but ppl always seem to forget that Natives count as Poc and are barely, if ever, helped out. The fact that theyve been continuously pushed out of their areas and contained in small groups with others of their tribes, after having had their land stolen from them, is disgusting. Back to the point tho, Spirit. Little Creek and spirit share that, in the time which this movie took place. Theyre being pushed from their areas and ppl are trying to “tame them”.
Now, again with the history. This wasnt included in the movie but Natives back in the day, when they were younger, would be taken from their tribes and colonized. Theyd rid them of the rich culture and try to perpetuate the white, colonized ways. Colonizers would change their names to the basic boring meaningless names, forbid them from speaking their native tongue, and have them grow up as a white, eurocentric person would. In other words, colonizers take away what made them different and attempt to get them to become like them. Which, while not included in the movie, is important to know! Bc it shows the parallels between a wild stallion, and a native american: 1- taking their land until barely any is left for them. 2- ridding them of their ways of being, until yheyre the way that is seen as presentable to the majority (whites)3- attempting to tame them.
Natives were seen as animals. As feral creatures less then human and less than the dirt being walked on (WHICH IS NOT TRUE). The fact was, euros saw them as ppl that needed to be ‘educated’ on the ways of man, which they saw as the was of WHITE man. In trying to educate them, it can almost easily be seen as them trying to ‘tame’ them, as they would a horse. With strength, power, and Force.
So going on ahead, when spirit meets little creek, theyre two sides of the same coin, going through the same thing, but its seen differently primarily because one is human and yhe other, well, a horse. And its troubling. Because even tho Little creek escapes the center where they were both held at, it was an interest type situation. Spirit let himself be handled and captured afterwards by the Lakota, only because they held the same view that horses could be tamed. However, despite the attempts to tame Spirit, Little Creek realizes soon that even tho their methods of taming a horse are to show that they are equal to to the human and not below (such as the whites were trying to impose) he knows that spirit, a free stallion, isnt going to be tamed. He sets him free. Spirit is somewhat hurt, bc these humans, treated him kindly. And he saw how kindly they treated other horses. He was reluctant bc of how honest and humane they were, but left anyways bc spirit also knew that he wasnt going to let himself be tied. Even if it was by an honest group.
My point in all of this is that In Spirit:The Stallion of Cimarron, it beautifully captures the similarities of natives, and in this movie horses. Both were struggling to maintain their land and their freedom, and the new movie doesnt. Its no surprise that good representation in movies is little to none for poc, but its even less in native americans. If you can name 5-10 movies with good native rep, I’d like to know but I can assure you that at the top of your head, you probably couldnt come up with more than 2. So when I heard of this movie coming out, I had to know if it kept the relation between the natives and animals in it.
It did not. In fact, from what Ive seen (the trailer) it removed the natives and instead replaced them with hispanics (presumably mexicans as rodeos originate from spanish/mexican influences). Now, mexican/latino and hispanic rep is good! I completely encourage making it bc its good! However this was not the movie for that. They took away the aspect of how freedom isnt something that can just be taken. How, the liberty that comes with your own deeply rooted course, cannot just be changed- how it SHOULDNT be changed. And in this new movie they did. This hispanic girl, for some horse riding event somehow tamed spirit, whose ‘soul could not be tamed’. Like, did we watch the same movie directors???? Producers????Bc the point of spirit the stallion of Cimarron was that freedom should be maintained, not stripped for the wants of others simply because, according to them, its “beneficial” and goes along with what they consider to be the social norm. It was about the connection that humans could make with animals bc they didnt place them below them, but rather treated them as equals. And for that to be taken away??? I feel like having tamed spirit was the wrong call for them to make.
Overall, it appears that Spirit Untamed (its literally in the title cmon) stripped the basis of the original movie to create the basic horse girl ‘saves’ horse and is the only one who can ride him bc she’s the only one who can ‘understand’ his trauma. Like, watch any other horse girl movie and thats what you get. But spirit wasnt supposed to be that. It was sooo much more and the fact that they dumbed it down to that?? Smh
#spirit#spirit the stallion of the cimarron#spirit movie#movie#spirit untamed#movie history#horse#stallions#natives#representation#im open to criticism#if I need correcting on stuff pls say so#theres honestly only so much I know#so if smth is wrong pls correct me!!#I havent watched the series but bc its based off of the original spirit movie#I honestly did expect more#kinda all over the place but hopefully it makes sense

Infodumping about spiders and spiderman my bad
It seems no matter the universe the spider that was exposed to radioactivity was a Steatoda nobilis!!!! Which most people know as a 'False Widow'!! But the interesting thing to me is that. Spiderman is an American superhero in the basic universes, theres obviously the mexican and indian spidermen and also Peni but thats not important at this exact moment! But, Peter is an american superhero, and where he was bit tends to be the same, he was at a Techtonics Laboratory set up in New York City as a field trip, and there is no way that a False Widow could've been there.
Because given the timeline at that time False Widows are pretty strictly in the UK and Ireland and maybe at the very very far edge of California, which obviously its probably Marvel not knowing enough about Spiders but godbless if theyre going to specifically name a spider in one of their comics they better fucking know its habitats and geographic placement.
But what im stumped on is how that spider got there, because according to the main comic (Earth-616) it was just. already there! and was made radioactive by one of the machines at the lab, the comic that names the spider though is the one surrounding Earth-71928, which isn't important because unless otherwise specified the most likely situation is that it is the same spider each time and i'm looking at the pictures of all of them and the only ones with big differences are the ones that were in different areas (IE Penelope Parker, Mayday Parker, so on and so forth) but the Main Peter which is the one most of everything else is based off of was bitten there by that spider specifically, sometimes its modified though in the sense it has numbers on its back, which obviously probably means it was placed there purposefully by someone, but thats not for the Main Peter so thats not important, the more likely thing is that Peter was bitten by an actual black widow because that geographic placement makes more sense (theyre found from the south of Canada down to Florida on the east side of America)
but if thats the case there have been studies on spiders in radioactivity (specifically after a nuclear accident, here ), and while those are Trichonephila Clavata, Araneus Ventricosus, and Atypus Karschi spiders it gives us a good basis of what radioactivity would actually do when a spider is exposed to it, which mostly is uh . Kill it! and when The Trichonephila Clavata (Silk Spiders) spiders had eggs there was a double amount of radioactivity found in those baby spiders, but over a few years that radioactivity naturally ebbed away because it would get spit out everytime the spider created webs or let out venom, no matter what though the most likely thing to happen to spiders exposed to radioactive elements is that they'll actually get significantly weaker, and their webs are a lot more frail and easy to break, most likely seen that the spiders themselves will accidentally mess up the webs because they seem to act drunk when exposed to radioactivity!
of course these studies were in like 2011-2014 so when Spiderman actually got created as a superhero there was no way to tell or know what radioactivity in spiders would actually do but its definitely interesting !!!! however most notably the radioactivity did kill most of the venom in spiders and make the venom basically unusable (forcing the spiders to learn to kill their prey in other ways) which i mean, definitely points more towards an actual black widow biting Peter, because therefore when they tried to shoot the venom in their fangs out it wouldve just shot out the radioactivity, and this brings me back to them saying it was a false widow!, False Widows aren't actually very venomous at all! so if they were spitting their tiny amount of venom back into a person it would only hurt for a little bit and maybe swell up depending on the bite area, but mostly it would do quite literally nothing! it barely has long enough fangs to reach a proper blood vein area unless you have thin skin, so if a False Widow (with radioactivity instead of venom) bit Peter it wouldn't have gotten very far in his bloodstream to actually do anything to him
and, so, Black Widows are pretty well known to be one of the most venomous spiders literally ever. (which isn't true, the most venomous is actually the Sydney Funnel-web Spider, which is pretty much only found in eastern australia), but black widows are pretty much right behind Brown Recluses in being the most venomous in America, which. obviously that makes me wonder what would happen if a black widow got exposed to radioactivity for realsies, but of course you can literally test that by putting a spider under an x ray for too long or in the microwave and you wanna know what happens? the spider fucking explodes besties ! because black widows have a larger abdomen, and thats where all its web fluid and organs are, and radiation is hot, like, Very Very hot, and it would burn the web fluid inside of them (therefore making the web fluid weaker if they even survive) and then eventually start burning the microscopic hairs on them as well as their organs which would kill it, but the web fluid when exposed to heat would expand and lead to the abdomen popping
but !!! its interesting !! and it also kind of uhh. disproves a spider ever being able to survive long enough to actually bite Peter unless he was standing right under the machine that exposed the spider to radioactivity (and remember it has to be a long enough exposure for the spider to be able to therefore then put it another being, a significantly bigger being, mind you)
Making spiderman scientifically impossible, however lets role with the assumption he is possible right? he was given the powers of a spider, which. well first of all aren't a lot, radiation or not, because the radiation weakens the spiders, and assuming he was given the strengths of a black widow not a lot of his powers make any sense! Spiderman is known for always being able to get back up after being hit, being super super resilient, having super strength, being able to stick to things, and being able to shoot webs (either with web slingers or through his own body depending on which spiderman you want to talk about)
1. Lets address the first thing. He's Resilient and can get back up after anything. Makes sense for a black widow spider, however the reasoning for that is because Black Widows have an exoskeleton, a skeleton outside of their body that protects them, as well as they have eight jointed legs, meaning if you break part of a black widows leg chances are theyll quite literally just shake it off and keep walking because they have enough leg strength to keep them balanced for a long period of time even if a leg is fully removed, so sure, they can in fact handle most things, but the most damage Peter tends to take is through explosions or getting hit in the chest/midsection area, which . well. if you drop almost any spider from too high a height and they don't have any webbing to save them, they are going to die because their abdomen will explode, exoskeleton or not.
Spiders aren't very strong, and while they can last a long time in a fight they're pretty damn susceptible to death from anything that hits them too hard, so it makes sense to an extent but unless Peter grew a new skeleton when he was bitten im gonna have to check off the ability for him to just get back up after anything, which also checks off the Super Strength because funny thing, black widows are one of the physically weakest spiders, like most spiders with heavy venom they don't have to last long in fights because they can just bite their victim and walk away
2. Hes able to stick to things, sure, all spiders can do that because of the special oil coating their skin that goes away as they get older, i'm just gonna assume Peter is extremely sweaty and his sweat is now that special oil because otherwise there's no way for that to work (let alone if just one hand would be able to hold his full body weight without his wrist breaking)
3. the web thing works no matter what because you can actually somewhat replicate a spiders web fluid and make it stronger with certain chemicals, definitely weirder for the Peters that produce it Inside Their Body but otherwise that one gets a pass
4. the spider sense is most likely from the fact spiders can sense vibrations in their web also
He’d need a lot of help from his suit to make any of this even remotely possible !!

Wait you got whole classes dedicated to other countries?? That’s great but yeah if ur wondering Americans usually do not get that. We sometimes have foreign language classes but it depends on the school and it’s often only counted as an elective and being in the class doesn’t mean that the teacher will actually do anything. And it’s just learning the language and absolutely nothing else, if you’re lucky enough to even have that offered. We don’t even learn about other North American countries. Honestly most schools don’t even teach about how the USA government works. Civics got taken out of most curriculums along with home economics. Even if you are able to get certain classes there’s not really anything keeping teachers from giving students inaccurate or biased information because “muh freedom and state’s rights” or something. Schools will pass students even if they didn’t learn anything because of some laws that got passed in like the 90s. It depends a lot on where in the US you live, if you went to public school or if your family could afford private school, etc. There’s also weird zoning laws that effect where you’re allowed to go to school, so if you live in a neighborhood with a “bad school” ur pretty much stuck there unless ur parents are able to sort it out. And then there’s big differences with rural vs urban vs suburban schools. Most states have their standards for education posted online but no one follows them and it’s practically incoherent anyway. American schools basically just teach simple math and English (those are the best taught subjects here, there’s other stuff though) and have students memorize whatever is on the standardized tests that week. Schools here tend to function more like combo daycares/prisons and less like places for learning, especially high schools. Like there’s the internet but independent study with no structure or direction doesn’t always have the best outcomes. I think that’s why young people are so insane here, but it’s whatever I guess… None of this applies to colleges theres different problems there. (Sorry for rambling in ur inbox ❤️ I couldn’t tell if that was a serious question or not)
No honey I was obliged to learn English, French, and German and in those language classes they also teach you a little bit about those countries' culture and history. It doesn't go the other way around. Nobody else in Europe really has mandatory Dutch classes because my country isn't relevant enough lol. I think everyone in Europe learns English as a second language and maybe also a third and/or fourth language depending on their geographical location and school system. My school also offered Latin and Ancient Greec but that was fully optional. Some schools also offer Mandarin Chinese or European Spanish but that's rare since they are not obliged to. I kind of assumed all Americans had to learn Mexican Spanish as well but apparantly that's just optional rip
We do learn how the country is governed. You kind of already learn by reading the news but it is also discussed in a social sciences class that focuses on socio-political issues. I don't know what that is even called in English but I had it for just one year and my teacher was a major clown lol. We also have a class that teaches you the basics of all major religions and we followed that up with a little bit of philosophy. We also followed another class for just one year that focused on teaching how to conduct scientific research. The religion class was very biased and my teacher kept simping for Islam even when acknowledging one of Muhammed's brides was underaged. We also learned about the Kaaba going by the Islamic story when that's not historically accurate. In general all my teachers for that class were Christian so we mostly focused on Christianity. It also brought out the edgy Reddit atheist in some of us.
In general everyone follows a different curriculum because there are different levels of education depending on how gifted you are. For the level I followed I had to go to high school for 6 years (counting "middle school" as well). After the age of 15 we had some more freedom in which subjects we wanted to keep following but it's very limited choice so not exactly pick and choose. My dumbass chose the two most difficult math classes rip

Another American expecting the entire world to remember all American states. Very American to be making international sellers struggle and do more work instead of doing the normal thing and just fucking adding USA to the end of an international order. "How many Californias are there" theres literally 65 places in this world called California. And if your talking about states only theres still literally 3 dumbass. if someone tells me they're from California idk if there talking the TWO Mexican states or the American one. Despite the UsA not being the biggest country on earth or the most populated, you all are infected with main character syndrome making you guys all hated by literally everyone.
i dunno man, i know we're self centered as shit, i don't deny this. but frankly, if you've got street address, city, state, zip code, do you really need usa tacked on at the end? i don't order a lot of stuff, so i dunno how this shit works international like, but if you see city, state/country in the break down of the address, how much more info do you need?
i figure most places are using street address, city, country? unless you're going to tell me that you're going to break it down further with a province like for, i dunno, canada/russia/china maybe, but those would be obviously different and distinct. might be a coin flip for canada vs america, but uh, i think their provinces are distinctly french, and i don't think you'll confuse that with the america's whatever states. i can't really think of any other countries who're gonna break down an address into street address, city, province/state, and then country.
most places, i would guess, would have street name and number, city, and country.
is it more work and utter arrogance on our parts? sure, fuck yeah, no disagreement there. my point is that it can't be that fucking hard to spot the arrogant american.
and sure, there are 65 other places named california alone, maybe so. but uh, i'm gonna hazard a guess and say they're most likely cities, and not filling out the place where one could presume is where the country usually goes.
guess what? looked it up, i was right! street address, apt #, city, country. look, if you confuse city vs country/state, i think that's on you. i mean, if you read such and such address, califonia, mexico and get confused about whether this needs to go to mexico or the us of a, that's a you problem.
i figure, if an address has street name and number, los angeles, california, i'd have the brain cells to go, 'hey, los angeles is in the spot where the city goes, so we can obviously not send it to one of however many other cities are named california'.
guess i'm just assuming you see a state name in where the country part of the address goes, you just have a one in four shot of sending it to the wrong place at best. and if the other big countries with provinces of note aren't assholes like us, then that narrows that shit down even further.
my point being, that this shouldn't be that big of a deal to get heated over.
i'm not trying to excuse americans for not including a simple us of a tacked on the end there. our arrogance and insufferableness knows no bounds, truly. but at the same time, i don't think it's that hard to deduce. is there a country that bears the name of one of the fifty states from america? is that what you're telling me?
is there a nation of kansas out there somewhere? i know we have new york, new york to contend with over here, but c'mon man? another country named new york stretches my suspension of disbelief.
look, my guy. we usually snail mail inside our borders. as in inside the us, across state lines. and because of that, i'm sure, we just street name, city, state. that's all that needed and i guess it's a bad habit. but we don't tack on usa at the end because nationally, it's distinct enough. we may run into trouble internationally, and i do apologize for the inconvenience of our thoughtlessness to you.
but again, we're fifty countries, stacked on top of one another, in a trench coat. if you treat our states as countries, it's almost indistinguishable from how every other country runs their addresses. if you can't hop on the net to look up the city, country of where you're mailing to, find it's not a country and don't just assume it's american since obviously everyone else big enough to go through this is polite enough to tack on a country plus whatever province, i dunno, find another job because this is obviously getting you too heated.
look, you came in here on anon, to admonish me for american arrogance that i don't even entirely disagree with you on. i'm well aware of our grating pride, mildly ashamed of it too, but at the same time, process of elimination should make this entirely too easy of a problem so that a guy with only half of a brain cell should be able to solve it no problem.
look, are we the only ones who mildly inconvenience y'all with this? if we are, then problem solved! process of elimination should now have easily allowed you to deduce where you need to send whatever to the asshat in america that patroned your online store. if we're not the only ones who do this, then you're singling us out for whatever vendetta you have against the old us of a. which means hey, we're not the only assholes.
either way, the solution to your problem with us is simple- begrudgingly take our money, suffer the complex puzzle of american arrogance, or just remove us from your shipping option.
again, you do have the right to refuse service at the end of all this.
unless you're a postal worker. then it's sucks to be you. drink some tea, meditate, maybe some light yoga.
#mailing debacle#look man#if the city/state combo in an address isn't enough info to glean where a package should go for you#i think you have more problems than arrogant asshat americans not putting usa at the end of the address on their order form#most places have city/country because much smaller#which means by and large states are filling in for country designations from americans#so if you see california in the city section and see mexico in the country part of the address#pretty safe to assume not going to the states#i dunno man#i just don't think it's that hard to figure out#annoying as all heck? hell yeah#but not enough to angrily come in here to tell me what i already know#c'mon now#i just wanna know how you guys working in shipping without a catalogue for addresses that you could plug in city/country into#and if it don't spit out a coherent thing you don't just assume american#it can't be that hard#friggin' google exists#you can confirm with a search engine alone i'm sure#there's a street view fucntion#google maps is a thing#plugging in a city/coin flip between a state and country shouldn't be too difficult to solve#annoying? undoubtedly#but if it gets you this heated#again right to refuse service#you've got options

went to the denver art museum to see the frida kahlo, diego rivera, and mexican modernism exhibit! it was great and full of super inspiring and beautiful pieces! too bad this post will have almost no content from that because its just art museum shitposting
let's kick things off with this extremely good rendition of 'master page, anne page, and slender' by john downman that my dear friend @wwaywward-vvagabond did the world the service of memeifying:
(more nonsense under the cut)
this one i did not catch a plaque for and cannot fucking find it on the website so maybe theyre ashamed of it and hell, maybe they should be: chair tiddies, so you can tell which chair is the girl chair
(not pictured from the best angle to show it but i can assure you one of those chairs has female presenting nipples and the other does not)
here's cevita castellana by edward lear, which is some pretty sick botw fanart for being from 1844; i know the game was in development for a long time, but this is ridiculous!
me seeing this next one: lmfao homestuck
me, reading the plaque and realizing theres a fucking i in there that i didnt notice and it actually spells 'vanitas': oh god the homestuck is me im the only homestuck here
(vanitas by annette messager; i got perhaps disproportionately angry about the medium being listed as 'wood, fabric, and rope' like oh yeah so i suppose the letters were stuffed with rope too then??? fucking disgraceful, any dipshit off the street could tell you those clearly include fiber fill or cotton. let me talk to the fucking curator this is unacceptable)
this one, 'a cossack horse in a landscape' by john ward, struck me as simultaneously beautiful and incredibly fucking ugly. another dear friend, @hunterx700, who does in fact work with horses, decided to be my fucking hero and took the liberty of REDLINING IT:
quote: "You know how sometimes men draw women with super elongated elastic spines so that they can get a boobs and butt shot? That’s what that horse looks like"
fucking incredible.
for the next one the plaque's writeup is important, so bear with me:
"William Renwick, American, 1914-1992
Bubble Lamp
1953
Plastic, steel, and wire
While working at George Nelson & Associates, William Renwick developed a series of wire-framed light fixtures that took advantage of an applied white plastic developed for military use during World War II. Renwick utilized the plastic's unique ability to bridge the openings between his steel wire supports while remaining translucent enough to cast light."
the piece in question:
...yes, this bitch really did credit himself with inventing an uglier, eco-unfriendlier version of fucking paper lanterns.
in conclusion (for this post--there was a piece credited to 'follower of heironymus bosch', which as you might imagine, is a lot to unpack in and of itself), have 'madonna and child with saints' by bernardo zenale:
shout out to this guy being the fucking election mood
#but really there are tickets left for the mexican modernism exhibit#if you are in the area i absolutely recommend picking some up#sage original post#sage speaks#long post#does tumblr still break readmores? probably#i havent been on much but the idea that theyve fixed anything is laughable#denver art museum#art history#art museum

i know this has been said before, but
*breathe in*
"HISPANIC" AND "LATINO" DO NOT MEAN THE SAME THING
they are NOT synonyms. they are NOT interchangeable. the difference between them is NOT minor
latino means someone who is from latin america. it is a cultural/historical/political, and, in some contexts (such as the USA and europe) racial, identity. it includes everyone who is from latin america, which includes, among others, brazilians, suriname and guyana ppl, and haitians. it does NOT include spaniards, because spain is not in latin america, and, in fact, designates precisely the #1 oppressors of most latino ppl
hispanic means someone whose first language is spanish. it is not a race, it is not a cultural, historical, or political identity. it DOES include spaniards, as their first language is spanish. it does NOT include brazilians (first language portuguese, for most), suriname and guyana ppl (first language french, for most) and haitians (first language kreyòl ayisyen, for most)
in fact, hispanic doesnt even include some mexicans, as some of them have native pueblos languages as their first language (such as nahuatl, yucatec maya, zapotec, and a bunch of others im not gonna list because there are 63, for your information), not to mention those who don't even speak spanish at all. same goes for most paraguayans (first language guaraní for the overwhelming majority of the population) and bolivians (over 60 different first languages, together more common than spanish), and at least a decent number of any other latin american country, as they all have native peoples. hispanic also does not include a number of latino immigrants living in other countries who don't know, or weren't raised speaking, spanish. but latino does include all of these people
here are some examples to help you understand how those are used:
racism against hispanics. ❌ WRONG. racism against hispanics doesn't exist, as spanish ppl are white and don't face racism. and the racism that latin american ppl face also applies to non-hispanics. no one is gonna throw a banana at me, and then once i'm like "oh no, im not hispanic, im brazilian!", be like "oh alright my apologies". you mean racism against LATINOS, in the contexts where that applies
latino accent. ❌ WRONG. there is no such thing as a latino accent, as the accents of french, portuguese, kreyòl ayisyen, and native latin american languages speaking ppl have nothing to do with those of hispanics. you mean HISPANIC accent (which is a term to be used carefully, as there is a great number of different accents among hispanic ppl. however, as they all share the same language - spanish - there is a decent amount of phonemes and general sounds they share, which can roughly amount to a common accent. this is not unlike speaking in terms of "US American accent". there are many different accents in the USA, but theres enough they have in common to make it possible to say "US American accent" as opposed to british, australian, canadian, jamaican, nigerian, etc., accents)
hispanic culture ❌ WRONG. the only thing the many hispanic cultures share in common is the language. there is a greater difference between the cultural practices of hispanic latin american and spanish cultures than there are between hispanic and non-hispanic latin american cultures (due to historical reasons, basically). you probably mean LATINO culture, but again, that's a term you should use carefully, as, while again there are a number of things that unite latino ppl, there are thousands and thousands of different cultures within latin america. that's a whole fucking continent you're talking about, my dude
latino language. ❌ WRONG. as previously stated a thousand times, there are hundreds if not thousands of languages spoken in latin america (just brazil has 300). if you mean spanish, just say spanish, like, my god, it's not that hard. if you want to specify latin american spanish (as opposed to european spanish) say latin american spanish. or latino spanish. or real spanish. all of those work
in short
stop putting "hispanic" as an option in "select your race" surveys
stop saying "hispanic" when u mean latino
stop saying "latino" when u mean hispanic
using "latino" and "hispanic" as interchangeable or as having minor/ignorable differences is ignorant at best and really fucking racist at worst, as it either excludes over half of the latino population, includes white europeans where they don't fucking belong, or both. not to mention reduces the cultural and language diversity inside latin america
thank you

» • * — ( benjamin wadsworth , cis male , he/him ) . i think i hear underdog by kasabian coming from apartment 2104. doesn’t balthazar ros live there ?? i heard they are a twenty-two year old chef from chicago , but they’ve been living in the apartments for two years . they come across a bit - wrathful and - rude , but they also seem like they could be + compassionate and + hardworking . whenever i see them , i think of denim jackets, guilty cigarettes, searching for a hug in a fist fight. oh , and don’t forget to follow them on instagram at tsar.zar ! ooc . ally, 22, she/her, est
hello y’all!!! i’ve been eying this rp for so long but have been. waiting until my mental state was Ready Enough to do it justice ! anyways, hello, my name is ally, i live in canada, i just got a job at walmart and i just learned how to french braid. those are my two biggest achievements during quarantine. anyways, this here is zar, he’s an emotional mess, please enjoy. there’s a quick novel-length introduction under the cut, but for more details, please click the following links. like for me to beg you for plots on discord !!!
full statistics. full biography. pinterest. wanted connections.
tw scars, emotional neglect, child abuse, physical abuse,
statistics.
full name. balthazar eduardo ros. nickname(s). zar. occupation. chef. age. twenty-two. date of birth. november 8th, 1997. nationality. american. ethnicity. mexican, iranian, english, ukrainian. orientation. bisexual/queer. gender & pronouns. cis male; he/him/his. religion. atheist.
height. 5’7”. weight. 145 lbs. eye color. brown. hair color + style. dark brown, curly, either styled haphazardly or pushed over his forehead. dominant hand. right-handed. distinguishing features. the scars on his face, that smirk, pretty boy eyes, and his plethora of tattoos.
biography.
had a... pretty shitty childhood honestly. sure, both of his parents were wealthy, but his mother, who he lived with at first in los angeles, was not only constantly busy but also emotionally neglectful. when his nanny from basically birth to age three was fired without any notice to him, for example, he cried for days. and his mother’s solution was to only keep the same nanny for a month so zar wouldn’t get attached.
he started to act out in school, because he, y’know, wasn’t getting any affection? and when therapy proved to be futile (meaning none of the therapists gave his mom the answer she wanted), she did the logical thing: blackmail your son’s father to taking him in or else she’d tell the whole world about their affair, and then put your six year old son on a plane to his father’s place alone without warning him or even telling him that he was going to live with his father.
he still has nightmares about the flight attendant pulling him onto the plane while his mom walked away, impassive. no biggie.
TO MAKE THINGS EVEN BETTER he was thrown straight into the lion’s den, living with his wealthy father and his picture-perfect family with five sons in chicago. of course, zar didn’t know that this man was his father until he was thirteen years old, but his stepmother figured it out almost immediately. and his brothers were all... spoiled brats, so she basically let them do whatever they wanted with him. i won’t get into specifics but imagine if you lived with five of your school bullies.
it’s also around them he finally looked his mother up on facebook only to find that she was now married and pregnant with another kid. he’d been replaced. this is high-quality parenting 101, folks.
food became... something of an important escape, for zar. he stopped eating with his family when he was about eight (it was basically a game of see how much we can abuse zar while the parents pretend he doesn’t exist), and started making his own little dinners. he associated dinners with the family meals he always saw on tv, portraying something he so yearned for; love, and family. to zar, cooking himself dinner each night became a way of practicing self-love.
he also developed a habit of picking up strays; he fed one stray dog, she curled up in his lap and slept, and he was hooked forever. it was the most affection he’d ever received. no matter how long it took, be it hours or months, no matter how angry or antisocial the stray seemed, he’d do anything he could to win their trust. (in fact, he kind of liked the angry ones; they always turned out to be the sweetest.)
he still acted out at school, had been diagnosed with conduct disorder and then oppositional defiant disorder. maybe he bit a psychiatrist or two who knows. and when he discovered who his father was and that everyone had been lying to him forever, well, he saw no need to hold back, now. he fought back.
he became a bona fide Bad Boy, passed from boarding school to boarding school, expelled for a laundry list of reasons. public drunkenness, assault, sucking the housemaster’s son’s dick in the showers. his parents tried military school; he spat in his drill sergeant’s eye.
finally, for his junior year, he was just put into public school in chicago. there, he was lucky enough to stumble upon the hospitality program, there, and fell back in love with cooking. this was the first thing in a long time he realized he could really do. sure, in an attempt to avoid his brothers he was now living in the attic, but still. life was looking up.
with a shining letter of recommendation from his instructor and a killer portfolio, zar was able to get into the culinary institute of new york. it was during his senior year that he moved into ten 23, and he decided to stay for a while. this apartment is probably the first place he thinks of as a home.
tl;dr abused son becomes a bad boy, learns to love via food and animals, moves to new york for school and career,
personality.
burnt marshmallow: smoky and crispy on the outside, ooey gooey on the inside.
but theres a lot of smoky/crispy; he can be very rude and blunt, and he still has a hair-trigger temper. he’s working on it, though.
honestly, he fits right in as a chef. even at the four star restaurant he works at, gideon’s, the entire cooking staff still swear like sailors.
to keep his temper intact, he smokes (he hasn’t even tried to quit) and he also does amateur mma in his free time.
sarcastic af. please someone tell him to shut the fuck up.
still will stop everything if he sees a stray. the only thing that will maybe dissuade him is work, and even then he’ll show up a little late after he makes sure the dog has water. keeps cheap doggie bowls, a water bottle, and little ziplocs full of kibble on his person at all times.
volunteers at the animal haven weekly. he still loves all the animals there.
he also has four dogs and one cat that thinks she’s a dog. does ten 23 not allow pets? doesn’t matter. he still has illegal pets. rip his roommates.
if he wants to make you feel better, he will cook for you. if he thinks you’re eating like shit, he will cook for you. if you’re hungry, he will cook for you. again, food is his way of showing love, and underneath it all he is a very loving person.
vegan, but. has to handle non-vegan things as part of his job. but still a big vegan.
horny 24/7. bi but only tops in emergencies. again, rip his roommates.
never really had a real relationship because he. gets jealous enough as it is. is constantly paranoid that people will leave him.
mom friend underneath it all. but like... an angry mom friend??? like he’ll nag you and tell you you shouldn’t have hooked up with your ex you basically asked for this but he’s doing this while making you cookies and peanut butter hot chocolate.
lowkey highkey hates himself and although he pretends otherwise he has the self esteem of a thirteen year old at their first high school dance.

What Are The Republicans Afraid Of
What Are Republicans So Afraid Of
Elizabeth Warren: ‘Republicans are AFRAID of voters!
Instead of conspiracy-mongering about an election they did well in, they could try to win real majorities.
By Jamelle Bouie
Opinion Columnist
There was a time, in recent memory, when the Republican Party both believed it could win a national majority and actively worked to build one.
Take the last Republican president before Donald Trump, George W. Bush. His chief political adviser, Karl Rove, envisioned a durable Republican majority, if not a permanent one. And Bush would try to make this a reality.
To appeal to moderate suburban voters, Bush would make education a priority and promise a compassionate conservatism. To strengthen the partys hold on white evangelicals, Bush emphasized his Christianity and worked to polarize the country over abortion, same-sex marriage and other questions of sexual ethics and morality. Bush courted Black and Hispanic voters with the promise of homeownership and signed a giveaway to seniors in the form of the Medicare prescription drug benefit. He also made it a point to have a diverse cabinet, elevating figures like Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and Alberto Gonzales.
Whether shrewd or misguided, cynical or sincere or outright cruel and divisive these gambits were each part of an effort to expand the Republican coalition as far as it could go without abandoning Reaganite conservatism itself. It was the work of a self-assured political movement, confident that it could secure a position as the nations de facto governing party.
‘nobody Is Afraid Of Their Grandfather’
Many Republicans expect Americans will become dissatisfied with record levels of government spending and debt, an increasingly crowded U.S.-Mexican border;and new rules and regulations promulgated by the Democratic Congress and the Biden administration.
Pledging to work with the Biden administration on an infrastructure bill, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said he is “hopeful” that “we may be able to do some things on a bipartisan basis; but they got off to a pretty hard left-wing start.”
“We don’t intend to participate in turning America into a left-wing,;kind of Bernie Sanders vision of what this country ought to be like,” McConnell told Fox News after the meeting between Biden and congressional leaders.
Fiscally conservative groups are stepping up campaigns against Biden and his spending proposals.
The organization Americans For Prosperity is preparing ads for competitive House districts in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona and Georgia. Biden wrested those states from Trump in the 2020 election, providing him his margin of victory in the Electoral College.
Some Republican criticism plays off Biden’s age and his occasionally mangled syntax, but that strategy has met limited success. Some of the attacks mirror the ones Trump made in 2020 against “Sleepy Joe.”
“Trump never found a salient way to brand Biden, and Republicans continue to struggle after the election,” Republican strategist Alex Conant said.
Opinion: What Are Georgia Republicans Afraid Of
It wasnt so long ago that disenfranchised Blacks and activist Whites were beaten and killed for attempting to secure the right to vote.
Among the better-known victims were civil rights workers James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner, three young men who were abducted, shot at close range and buried in an earthen Mississippi dam on June 21, 1964. Part of the Freedom Summer, the three had hoped to register Black voters and educate them so they could pass the literacy tests required to vote.
When their bodies were discovered nearly two months later, one of the dead men had red clay in his lungs and clenched in his fist, indicating he was probably still alive when buried. The perpetrators included members of the local Ku Klux Klan and the Neshoba County Sheriffs Office.
This incident was but one of many leading up to the Civil Rights Act of 1964, but is illustrative of how bloody and hard-won the right to vote was. Weve come a long way, as they say, but some people are still determined to make voting more, not less, difficult. Georgias recent 98-page voting reform legislation, signed into law on March 25 by Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, is a case in point. These red-clay legislators dont require a literacy test, but theyve created a host of new regulations that potentially make voting more difficult for minorities.

Opinion: What Are Republicans Afraid Of
Its almost funny, in a twisted sort of way. Election after election, Republicans have based their core political appeal on fear.
And yet as dual gun massacres this weekend starkly illustrate they refuse to offer solutions to any of the mortal threats Americans actually face.
President Trumps closing message;in the midterms was Be afraid, be very afraid; he and his co-partisans have lately doubled down on it for 2020. Of course, the perils that Republicans promise to rescue us from are often fictional, or of their own making.
We must fear the coming scourge of socialism . Trump likewise stokes public anxiety;over;a Market Crash the likes of which has not been seen before if anyone but me takes over in 2020 .
;Trump and allies urge us to cower in trepidation from helpless parents and children seeking asylum, a threat so grave they needed to be separated from one another and caged. We must also fear the supposed Muslim and Latino hordes, who threaten to;wipe out;Anglo-European culture and displace white babies with their own.
These are hardly the only foreigners who should inspire existential dread, according to right-wing fever dreams. Rogue nations should, too, thus justifying enormous increases in our defense budget. Of course, all the nukes and jets in the world wont protect us from the assault our enemies abroad are currently waging against us, and that Republicans;resist;confronting: the one on our electoral system.;;

Senate Republicans Use Filibuster To Kill Jan 6 Commission
Only six Republicans joined Democrats in a procedural vote.
Senate Republicans block Capitol riots commission
In a remarkable political moment, Republicans on Friday blocked the Senate from moving forward on a bill that would establish a bipartisan, independent commission to investigate the Jan. 6 assault by Trump supporters on the U.S. Capitol.
Six Republicans joined Democrats in the 54-35 vote, but that fell six votes short of the 60 needed to start debate on establishing a commission — which then, normally, would require only a simple majority to pass in a final vote.
“Out of fear or fealty to Donald Trump, the Republican minority just prevented the American people from getting the full truth about January 6,” Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said right after the vote.
“Senate Republicans chose to defend the ‘big lie’ because they believe anything that might upset Donald Trump could hurt them politically,” he said.
The Senate leader reminded GOP senators they “all lived the horrors of January 6.”
“I was no further than 30 feet from those white supremacist hooligans. Do my Republican colleagues remember that day?
“Do my Republican colleagues remember the savage mob calling for the execution of Mike Pence — the makeshift gallows outside the Capitol? Men with bulletproof vests and zip ties, breaking into the Senate gallery and rifling through your desks. Police officers crushed between doorways?” he said.
“Not so today,” he concluded.
No Republican spoke.

Gop Lets Trump Fight Election For Weeks Despite Bidens Win
WASHINGTON Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday theres no reason for alarm as President Donald Trump, backed by Republicans in Congress, mounts unfounded legal challenges to President-elect Joe Bidens election victory a process that could now push into December.
Republicans on Capitol Hill signaled they are willing to let Trump spin out his election lawsuits and unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud for the next several weeks, until the states certify the elections by early December and the Electoral College meets Dec. 14.
McConnells comments show how hard Republicans are trying to portray Trumps refusal to accept the election results as an ordinary part of the process, even as its nothing short of extraordinary. There is no widespread evidence of election fraud; state officials say the elections ran smoothly. The delay has the potential to upend civic norms, impede Bidens transition to the White House and sow doubt in the nations civic and election systems.
Trump remained out of sight at the White House, tweeting his views, but the social media company Twitter swiftly flagged the presidents tweets that he actually won the election as disputed.
Its not unusual, should not be alarming, McConnell told reporters on Capitol Hill. At some point here well find out, finally, who was certified in each of these states, and the Electoral College will determine the winner. … No reason for alarm.
What Do Republicans Fear
What do Republicans fear?
Muslims? Political correctness? Taxes slightly higher than zero?
Having to adapt and compete with everyone, not a select few? Fully funded and functional public goods? Obamaphones?
Hearing strange languages? Waiting a little longer at the all-you-can-eat buffet line? Not being able to hunt deer with a rocket launcher?
Equality? Opportunity? Their own aging genitalia? Falafel?
Or maybe they fear for their wallets. Fair enough. I worry about my economic future, too. But, you know what? Economics is a policy question. Economics is not a science. If it were, we’d be doing the optimal thing all the time.
You know what is a science? Medicine. Reproductive health. Environmental studies. Geology. Biology. Meteorology. Science is a frikkin’ science! Believe me!
I think they’re scared of losing a dream of what they could have been. They’re nostalgic for a past that never existed. Norman Rockwell–painter of Great America–was married three times and one of his wives tried to burn his house down with him inside. There was never a perfect world.
“Make America Great Again”? America’s been great forever, but that doesn’t mean it’s been great for everyone.
I would love to be proven wrong. I mock, but I’m eager to learn, because right now, it makes no sense:
Republicans seem to fear being slightly uncomfortable. The rest of us fear being slightly dead.
I’m afraid of nuclear war and having to learn Russian or Mandarin.
Hooray.

Primary Election Snafus Show Challenges For November Vote
Republicans’ and Democrats’ vastly different starting points help explain why the politics over voting and elections have been and likely will remain so fraught, through and beyond Election Day this year.
Sometimes it seems as if the politicians involved barely live in the same country. It has become common for one side to discount the legitimacy of a victory by the other.
And the coronavirus pandemic, which has scrambled nearly everything about life in the United States, makes understanding it all even more complicated. Here’s what you need to know to decode this year’s voting controversies.
The Rosetta stone
The key that unlocks so much of the partisan debate about voting is one word: turnout.
An old truism holds that, all other things held equal, a smaller pool of voters tends to be better for Republicans and the larger the pool gets, the better for Democrats.
This isn’t mathematically ironclad, as politicians learn and relearn regularly. But this assumption is the foundation upon which much else is built.
The Goal Is To Undermine Confidence In Elections
Why Are Republicans Still So Afraid Of Trump? | The 11th Hour | MSNBC
Underscoring the point, Rep. Jim Banks , the chair of the Republican Study Committee, made an extraordinarily disingenuous appearance on Fox News Sunday. Banks had endorsed the Texas lawsuit, which would have invalidated millions of votes in four states based on fictions, and voted to overturn President Bidens electors in Congress.
Pressed by Foxs Chris Wallace to admit Biden won fair and square, Banks kinda sorta acknowledged it, but immediately pivoted to claiming those actions were entirely justified, by insisting that his serious concerns about the election were still valid.
This is not the act of a coward who fears Trump, and would vouch for the integrity of the election if only he could do so without consequences.
Rather, it is the act of someone who is fully devoted to the project of continuing to undermine confidence in our elections going forward.
This is for purely instrumental purposes. Republicans are employing their own invented doubts about 2020 to justify intensified voter suppression everywhere. Banks neatly crystallized the point on Fox, saying those doubts required more voting restrictions after reinforcing them himself.
Indeed, with all this, Republicans may be in the process of creating a kind of permanent justification for maximal efforts to invalidate future election outcomes by whatever means are within reach.

Officer Goes From ‘sadness’ To ‘rage’
Sicknicks partner on the Capitol police, Sandra Garza, wrote an essay about the attack and the aftermath in which she said in part, I saw officers being brutalized and beaten, and protesters defying orders to stay back from entering the Capitol. All the while, I kept thinking, Where is the President? Why is it taking so long for the National Guard to arrive? Where is the cavalry!?
She added, As the months passed, my deep sadness turned to outright rage as I watched Republican members of Congress lie on TV and in remarks to reporters and constituents about what happened that day. Over and over they denied the monstrous acts committed by violent protesters.;
For example, when Gosar called the Jan. 6 attackers peaceful patriots.
During the Benghazi hearings, Republicans were laser-focused on trying to place blame on then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But after four years of investigations, most of them purely partisan affairs, they found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing on her part.
Republicans dont want anything close to that type of scrutiny on the Capitol attacks of Jan. 6. In fact, they dont seem to want any scrutiny at all.
Almost as if they know what will be found.
Almost as if I didnt have to use the word almost.

Cap Times Idea Fest: Panelists Consider How Law Enforcement Can Evolve
“They put up with the crazy in order to have the power and do the job,” Rucker said. “And then once they were in the job, they didn’t want to give it up, in part because they enjoyed the trappings of power, but also because they worried, ‘OK, if not me, who is going to be here next?'”
The bigger question, Rucker said, is why Republican members of Congress didn’t act as a check on the executive branch, even after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Republican members of Congress can be broken into three groups, Leonnig said. Some were willing to say privately they were concerned about or angry with Trump, but concealed their feelings because of the voting base he commanded. A much smaller group of officials was willing to publicly criticize him, like Sen. Mitt Romney and Rep. Liz Cheney. Finally, there were “true believers,” like Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green.
“Our country is in peril right now. It is on the brink,” Leonnig said. “‘It’s a republic if you can keep it’ is a serious question right now, because how do you continue along the path of democracy when … the overwhelming number of the members of are afraid of the former president and want his voters?
“How do you continue when you are feeding them baloney and they are believing it?”

No More Distractions Maybe Maybe Not
Republicans said they were distracted in making the case against Biden by a lack of cohesion, including internal disagreements over what to do about Trump.
Some blamed Cheney, the now-former House Republican Conference chair who argued that the party should move past Trump and stop echoing his lies that the 2020 election was stolen from him. She said those claims triggered the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, an incident Democrats would surely use against Republicans when elections roll around.
House Republicans voted Wednesday to demote Cheney from her role as third-ranking Republican. She responded that the GOP would struggle against Biden and his agenda if it continues to embrace Trump and his conspiracy theories.
“To be as effective as we can be to fight against those things, our party has to be based on truth,” Cheney told NBC News.
House Republican Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., who supported demoting Cheney, said voters are disenchanted with Biden and the Democrats. Scalise told Fox News he sees “a lot of really serious concern about the direction that the socialist Democrats are taking us,” and “Biden has embraced that far-left Bernie Sanders;agenda.”
“People don’t want this to become a socialist nation, yet you see how far theyre moving,” Scalise said.
“It’s always difficult to generate a unifying message when you’re the party out of power,”; GOP pollster Whit Ayres said.
New Poll: Americans Overwhelmingly Support Voting By Mail Amid Pandemic
Traditionally, Republicans have tended to support higher barriers to voting and often focus on voter identification and security to protect against fraud. All the same, about half of GOP voters back expanding vote by mail in light of the pandemic.
Democrats tend to support lowering barriers and focus on making access for voters easier, with a view to encouraging engagement. They support expanding votes via mail too.
The next fight, in many cases, is about who and how many get what access via mail.
All this also creates a dynamic in which many political practitioners can’t envision a neutral compromise, because no matter what philosophy a state adopts, it’s perceived as zero-sum.

oh my god, theres a American girl that its going around telling people that if they have a question about MEXICAN 20th century history, go to ask her because she has books and its calling herself the fandom historian, SHES NOT EVEN MEXICAN! and she has managed to: ignore the traditional medicine from the time period (herbolaria was and its still a thing), completely get wrong the traditional dress from Oaxaca and said that Hector would know how to drive despite being from a town 1921!
*takes her friends of History major (enough to make “a barrio”) and her inchanted spoon, her chanclas, and her 24 years on this land of chile*
I’m ready. Tell me where to find her.
Girl, you can KNOW things from the books, but living HERE is what makes you understand. Even Pixar knew that, that’s why they came here to LEARN from us, because you can read as much as you want, but you will not get it unless you ask a mexican.
Get out.
Anyway, if you wanna ask real mexicans AND mexicans that actually study history, @girlwithwolftatoo, my comadre, is one. Or go check the amazing channel Buly Magnets, they’re meicans explaining history (and now their videos have english subs!). If you want to know about herbolaria, I have a friend that’s dedicated to that. Yeah, we din’t had aspirins back in the day but lots of amazing roots, flowers and herbs.
#Coco Pixar#WHY YOU DO THAT!?#That's the STUPIDIEST THING ever on this fandom#and the bar is really high and you exploted it with ONE thing!

mutants
so last night I was thinking about movies that feature powers/superpowers and everything and basically I wanna write something like this but would honestly rather read it
mutants are created by mutations in DNA sequences right, naturally they would either die from incorrect protein sequences or have an advantage (in this case power). over many many many years natural selection (and by that I mean terrified people with big guns) would take its toll and there would be less and less mutants with powers so they would have to hide them (like in every movie ever lol) but wow magically theres an institution/hideout owned by a normal dude with lots of money who's daughter was a mutant but she died so now he wants to protect the other mutants and blah blah blah
so this chick right shes like wassssupppp I'm a mutant but I'm 17 and not dead wowowowo xD and she has the ability to shapeshift so shes been on the run from her old home cause you know...everyone hates her. and been shapeshifting into different people to hide and everything but then WHAT she finds this institute and then she lives there and there are a bunch of little kids with random ass powers who are confused and excited but can't control their powers yet so one accidentally destroys the greenhouse cause he got excited about being able to make a plant grow but then it got a little out of hand and what have you
so she (YES FOR FEMALE PROTAGONISTS) meets this group of ragtag mutants that are her age and they tell her who’s who around the institute. most have been here since childhood as they were dangerous when not in control.
they explain that their names came from their powers, an interview held in a stadium-sized room underground where the owners determine whether or not the mutant belongs at the institution, whether their powers are too great to live around normal humans. an interview, as the owners call it, which requires a mutant to show what they can do (give it to me) and then they’re named. unfortunately this isn't so well with some people and great for others.
there’s an American boy and his sister who both have the same mutation, wings. her wings are beautiful and black, so she’s called raven. his are slightly grey and mottled, and whilst they actually resemble owl’s wings, he’s called pigeon. he's really bitter about it and originally hated his name but got used to it. raven thinks her name is badass.
there are the two Mexican brothers who burnt down an orphanage when they were three because they have the ability to create and manipulate heat. theyre named something like blaze and flame (and theyre obviously the coolest guys at the place with names like that). theyre very mild-tempered despite what you might think and actually are quite humble.
theres the girl who can teleport and for her interview she went to Alaska and brought back a husky (she kept him and his name is Bug) so she was called Alaska. she used to use her ability to transport her friends and family from her home in Iraq to safe countries but problems occurred and she had to stop. she said goodbye to her family for their own sake.
theres the seven year old German kid who can turn invisible and stole things from around the institute unseen for his trial. He was nicknamed Pick from pick-pocketer but he's little and cute and doesnt steal anymore. he speaks with a German accent and his favourite person at the institute is pigeon.
a Spanish boy who's about four who stumbles around the institute and heals people with his tiny healing powers, and he normally faints afterwards because it takes a lot of energy but he's adorable and stubborn and chases Bug around whenever the dog gets sick to try and heal him. His name is Alivio but everyone calls him Ali.
theres the Chinese-American boy who can control the weather. he was originally nicknamed Tsunami but raven refused to call him that as the owner thought he was Japanese (RACIST) and gave him a name that was originally a Japanese word. He is instead Hurricane. he despises his powers and the affect they have had on his life, preventing him from living up to his mother’s expectations of becoming a doctor. he instead spends his time in the laboratory in the institute and helps find causes of the mutations. on his bad days, the weather is always raining and cold.
theres the twelve year old girl with the ability to hear peoples thoughts, but she spends most of her days in bed. as majority of people are self-depracating she hears thoughts of “you're not good enough” and whatnot everyday. she was diagnosed with depression when she was six. some of the older boys nicknamed her Ears when she was four because she was always listening.
and many other ones but these were just the ones I came up with
BUT YES I WANT TO READ ABOUT THESE POOR KIDS YES

I've never seen it but now I want to watch The Magnificent Seven. But I have to study. Rip me.
I heartily reccommend it my dear anon! I was super hesitant going in and reading reviews that were like “the minority characters were flat and tokenized” . and I mean like you read the summary and goody is a ex confederate marksman and theres only one native american role so thats like ugh why but the key here is that this is a western directed by a black man with a black male lead playing the role of that mysterious righteous sexy cowboy archetype usually reserved for white dudes in the 60s. I also read complaints that the lack of racism wasnt “historically accurate”, but damn it if white cowboy movies got to rewrite history and tell noble self sacrificing but ultimately Hopeful and Good and Happy stories about the brutal american wild west, so can this one. My one complaint is that there is a heck of a lot of religion in this movie, but its done in a spiritual way and the native religious traditions are treated with equal reverrance/romantic cheesyness, and mostly it only adds to how Noble the overall movie feels, so I kinda liked it. Racism warnings and stuff under the cut because I know theres gotta be other people who are hesitant watching things
I also take issue with the claim that the main characters dont experience racism. Because they do, except in this story every instance of that racism is not only shown as bad and gross but also is overcome. I dont want to give spoilers, but the first badass moment Sam’s Suave Cowboy gets is the bartender refusing to serve him while the rest of the all white clientele watch. bar tender gets what he deserves and Sam proves his skill and superiority with ease in smooth cowboy style. It is badass and I got all fangirly. There is also a moment at the end where Sam’s motivation is finally revealed, and it is intense, but again Sam proves that he is a force to be reckoned with and ultimately, is the better person for overcoming the racism and getting his revenge (this is the one moment where sam almost loses control). Also, most of the white dude characters serve as foils for sam’s character, like Sam forgiving and befriending Goody, who clearly deeply regrets his role in the civil war, is used to show how much pain Sam has gone through and how he now is the one with the upper hand - its sams choice to forgive if the man EARNS Sams forgiveness and goody works really hard to do that. Or how Chris Pratt’s characters goofy bumbling drunkenness is shown in stark contrast to Sam’s steady, wise dignified old cowboy persona - that is straight out of western tropes, I have seen bits and pieces of enough of my step dads shitty old john wayne movies to know. And Sam is Always the leader, like there is never any question. And yeah, maybe this is what people mean when they say it doesnt feel historically accurate because our society cant imagine a black man being a leader immediately after slavery, excet for the fact that Sam proves his leadership abilities again, and again, and again, and there are logical reasons for all these six men to accept him as their leader. And even if that wasnt the case, again, wild west movies rewrite history, the director should be able to just give us a black leader without question lol.
The other minority characters fall into some tropes, which leaves a little to be desired, but not in a totally horrible way. Billy nearly crosses the line into model minority, stern silent Asian fighter stereotype but like he has so many badass scenes, its hard to be bothered by that too much. Also the movie makes it clear that Goody uses his white privilege to diffuse situations between racist assholes and Billy. The Mexican character is…well almost as flat as the white trapper character. He was charismatic and had a debonair sense of honor and definitely gave back as good as he got but theres not much for the actor to work with. I dont even remember the poor dude’s name. Same with the Comanche character, who is again used mostly as a foil for Sam, to show Sam’s sympathy for Native Americans and Sam’s ability to act as peacekeeper/leader even across cultures. It would have been great to see more of the native characters, and have them be less magical but honestly the representstion is leaps and bounds better than say that norman reedus flick “Sky” which was just plain embarrassing. This comanche character clearly has his own agenda and motivation, and he is given quite a few “woah!” fight moments. If anyone can find a good critique of the movie by a socially aware critic, I’d love to read it!
Oh, also the female roles were non existant but this falls under the LOTR type sexism where like…women arent really there much or relevant to the plot at all so you dont need to put blinkers on to watch it lol. Theres a throwaway female character and shes super beautiful and gets her crowning moment at the end but mostly shes just there to look pretty. They put her in the most impractical revealing outfits like lady if you are traveling across country on a horse under the hot desert sun dont wear a dress that exposes your shoulders and the tops of your breasts to sunburn lol. Kinda funny that they werent historically accurate with that but they did decide all the people doing the fighting had to be male becsuse men did war back then and women just hid under floorboards. Except the female lead becsuse shes Special. lol. At least no one is gross or sexist to her, that was refreshing.
BASICALLY haha for someone like me who hates the politics of westerns but loves the aesthetics and the desert vistas and the adventure feel and the damn catchy music, this one feels like a breath of fresh air and i’d watch it ten times in a row like i did with the 3:10 to yuma remake when it came out haha.

Mkay so I really dont like getting political. But this--
I havent seen anyone say this yet. And please argue this point to me because I wanna see what LEGITIMATE argument someone can make against this--
Someone says that taking away guns wont change anything. That 'criminals' and 'psychos' will find a way to get them anyway. Theyll get them on the 'Black Market' or whatever else.
Here's the thing though. These mass shooters, and in fact the vast majority of 'criminals' are??? Regular. Fucking. People.
Theyre your neighbors and people you see on the sidewalk or at the grocery store or in your CLASSROOM, going through who the hell knows what. Some are desperate, some are disturbed, some have given up all hope of everything.
And yknow what they do? They go to a regular fucking store, like a regular average 'American' exercising his right by the second amendment, and gets himself a gun. (Or 42. Cuz why is that a problem? Hes just a normal dude buying some ak47s to protect his lawn)
Regular people ARE. CRIMINALS. How many average ass people have access to the black market??? I dont think you can just google 'Black Market Sale, Weapons of Mass Destruction 40% off!' shit doesnt work like that. And i dont see any major gangs or 'black market' investors or cartel leaders sending goons to shoot up highschools and concerts.
Why??? Cuz they have BUSINESSES TO RUN. ILLEGAL SHIT TO GET UP TO THAT THEY DONT WANT MEDIA ATTENTION OR POLICE INVESTIGATING. Drawing attention to themselves would disrupt their BUSINESS, so they keep as low a profile as possible??? (As far as active media presence. Do correct me if Im mistaken. But I hear more about school shootings in media than I do about cartel activity and I live 15 minutes from Mexico. You would THINK, thered be a lot of gang activity here based on Trump's calling every Mexican an illegal criminal. Buuut you'd be wrong! Because most people. Arent. Like that! \ouo/ Shocking. I know.)
If you take guns away from the general public then guess what? Most of the general public likely to become criminals-- WILL BE PUTTING THEMSELVES AT A MORE IMMEDIATE RISK IF THEY TRY TO GO THROUGH WITH HARMING PEOPLE. Because at close range, a knife can only do so much damage and anyone from any angle can tackle someone with a knife with minimal casualties. With a gun-- thats not possible because you cant get anywhere NEAR an attacker unless you have a firearm yourself.
People who get down into the headspace that if theyre desperate or angry enough to want to shoot up a school will have SIGNIFICANT ODDS against them attempting such a thing if they have no access to firearms. And that is usually enough to give them second thoughts about walzing into a crowded area with a steak knife.
If an 18 year old had no way of getting ahold of a gun because unless you know some dude who deals directly with the infamous 'Black Market' and have a few thousand dollars on hand-- NO 18 YEAR OLD BRAT SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET AHOLD OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN A KITCHEN KNIFE. If guns werent so immediately accessible this wouldn't be HAPPENING. Because 'criminals' are all just regular people before they commit their crimes. The point is to keep guns out if the hands of regular people so that fewer of them BECOME DEADLY, MASS MURDERERS.
Im not saying you all have to give up your hunting rifle to protect your lifestock from mountain lions or coyotes, or the 9mm in your purse(and even that one's a stretch for me but America will be America...) Nobody. In this country. Needs ANYTHING outside of a small calibre handgun for 'immediate defense' or a hunting rifle when HUNTING.
Every other kind, quantity, or category of firearm is NOT. NEEDED. BY ANYONE. Gun collectors should not be a thing. Collect something more harmless. Find a new hobby. Like fish. Or antiques. If i have to give up my passions and artistic persuits for a society that favors more 'useful endeavours' then you can give up your gun collection to make sure I can attend your school programs without having to worry about being shot in my classroom. There are a billion other things to spend your time, money and garage space on.
Guns are not 'cool' anymore. They arent fun. Or manly or interesting. They belong in the goddamn garbage. And I dont want to know how many more little fucking kids have to die before America wakes its ass up and realises this.

Loveline listener survey
Copy and paste to your own preferred word processor, so that you can save progress, and return to [email protected] or dm me your completed survey on twitter, @basicallyesme This survey is for all Loveline listeners of any kind, any era, even the occasional listener who just really liked the show but just didn’t listen very consistently. I’m looking for patterns and similarities as well as differences in the listener community. Though respondents to this survey are going to be a much smaller group than what was probably possible when it was when Loveline was still in the format we remember of 5 nights a week on terrestrial radio, I still think it’ll be interesting to see what patterns and surprises arise. I’m that hoping within a year I can have enough data to see some kind of something, which I’ll update on my Tumblr. But after a year I will continue to take surveys as long as people are willing to answer, for as many years as there’s interest. Though I will not share stories or details unless specifically given permission, if you wish to remain anonymous but still want to answer you’re going to have to start an anonymous email or twitter account to answer from (if I dont follow right away tweet me to let me know you’re not a spammer and just trying to answer the survey). I might have questions I would like elaboration or clarification on and may want to ask for permission to use stories, so PLEASE do not close your anonymous reply account right after completeing and returning the survey, I’ll let you know when I’ve read your answers and if I have more questions or not. Heres the really fun part: I’m looking for fans to interview over Skype for an upcoming fan podcast. I can’t say exactly when that will go online just yet, because I want a bit of backlogged episodes and just started the first interviews, but it will definitely be linked to this my Tumblr account and shared on my twitter account as well as on reddit. If you are interested in being interviewed please specify at the top of your reply email. Thanks a million in advance, take your time, please forgive the longwindedness and say as little or as much as you want. But if your fingers get tired and you’re planning on being interviewed just mark answers with an ansterisk (*) at the end if you’d like to elaborate on that topic over Skype.
