୨୧ zayne decides to take matters into his own hands when he notices you've been neglecting your health lately
✧・゚boyfriend!zayne, fem!reader, established relationship, mentions of food, reader neglects her health, reader calls zayne 'sir' once, spanking, soft dom!zayne -> lifestyle dom!zayne, light Dom/sub elements, swearing, unprotected s[e]x, petnames (my aurora, my darling), thigh humping, size kink
✧・゚thought about lifestyle doms from an anon's ask and suddenly this idea came to me about zayne doubling down on making sure you're taking care of your health ugh i need this man biblically
The life of a Hunter is anything but easy, and Zayne knows that well.
However, he can't help the feelings that surface every time he sees you coming back home, tired and even more worn down than when you had given him a goodbye kiss this morning.
And this isn't the first time, either.
He notices—he always does. It's in his very nature to be trained to catch even the slightest deviation of the norm; a blip in your composure, your routine.
Nowadays, you were sleeping for 4 hours max, pushing your body everyday at work until bruises litter your limbs; skipping meals to hand in Jenna's reports before the stipulated deadline, barely finishing up your 500ml water bottle he so diligently helps to fill up every morning...
... and all of it piles onto the guilt he feels when he realizes how little he can do to take care of you.
It festers and festers and festers till he snaps the very second you come back home, exhausted and puckering your lips for his usual welcome back kiss.
"No."
It breaks his heart—truly, it does—to see the hurt shining in your eyes.
Why? You struggle to understand why he's being so cold all of a sudden. From warm snuggles to an icy cold glare—Zayne's mood shift was scaring you.
Instead of answering, he goes into the kitchen and reappears a second later, holding a cup of water.
"Drink this all up and then I'll kiss you."
His tone is deadpan, sharp green eyes never losing their sternness.
To add insult to the injury, he scoffs, "Your breath probably smells after a whole day of not drinking water. The bacteria on your tongue alone could kill off a mouse."
You gape, affronted. "Hey! Don’t be mean—"
"Drink. Up." He leaves no room for you to argue; to huff your disbelief. Deciding to not be too difficult, especially when you've already had a hard day at work, you gulp down the water dutifully; a little too quickly until you choke and he pats your back.
Once your coughing fit subsides, he tilts your head up, and like the first touch of cool morning dew on skin, his lips meet yours.
"More," you mumble, nails sinking into his soft dark hair, tugging slightly on his roots to voice your need.
Something about your sweet primary care physician boyfriend who's always yielding and gentle—restraining you from indulging in him until you did, as he said—made you throb all over.
Zayne's minty cool breath fans across your face, his voice smooth as dark chocolate when he whispers, "You need to eat first. I know you haven't had a full meal today."
Rubbing your nose against his, you whine. "If I do eat, can you kiss me more?"
In answer, Zayne wraps his arms tightly around you, burying his face in the crook of your neck. "Of course," he mumbles into your skin. "I'll give you so many kisses till you're sick of them."
Never, you thought. You would never get over the feeling of his lips on yours. Or the rough rasp of his palm on your thigh, gently kneading the flesh as you quickly ate the meal he cooked.
If you thought his spur of tough love would end after tonight, you were sorely mistaken.
Kisses held hostage turn into refusals of even hugging you until you promise to finish your lunch at work.
You feel Tara's stare burning holes into your side profile, brows crinkled as she looks past her desktop at your antics.
Today, your phone leans against your monitor, and you were taking huge bites of the noodle dish Zayne prepared the night before.
"Filming a mukbang?" Tara inquires innocently.
You shake your head, expression sour. "No," you quickly swallow your bite of food, and fix her with a look that speaks volumes. "Zayne."
"Ah."
Tara nods. "Dating a doctor isn't easy. I bet he tells you to pay attention to your health all the time, huh? But, you know what they say—an apple a day keeps the doctor away. At least, he'll stay off your case if you take care of yourself."
Only she could make it sound so easy.
When you were called into the city to investigate a strange flux pattern, you had forgotten to let Zayne know you weren't coming home in time for dinner.
How were you to know that the very second you stepped foot at home, he was already waiting with a scowl in place?
"Zayne—" you start when you see him leaning against the kitchen doorframe, expression impassive.
He shushes you, tall and imposing; still in his pristine work suit from today.
"Have you at least had something to eat in the last 6 hours?"
Remembering the little pact you both made, you nod quickly. "Mhm hmm! All my food is finished—cross my heart." You even remove your container from its insulated bag, shaking it lightly. "See? All empty."
A shadow of a smile graces his lips. "Good. And how many cups of water did you drink?"
Immediately, the smile drops from your face. "Uh... one? maybe two. I can't remember..."
The look in his eyes would've made you shrink away, if you couldn't already predict your boyfriend's next words.
"You are highly irresponsible with your own health, my darling."
You wait for him to nag, but back up when he starts to approach you; the look on his face is unreadable.
"What do I do with you, Y/N?" he sighs, and before you can react, cages you against the wall. The smell of his cologne—fresh and expensive—invades your nostrils.
Your head spins, all the blood going straight to your toes; your stomach falling when he leans forward, lips right at your ear.
"I guess I have to force you to take your health seriously. How do you think I will do that?"
Zayne doesn't wait for you to answer. In one swift move, he has you in his arms, using his strength to carry you into the bedroom.
"Zayne," you squeak and gasp when he tosses you onto the bed.
The mattress dips under his weight, his face inches from yours. Despite the change in his behavior, you tilt your lips up, needy and ready to feel his kisses.
But, he never gives it to you.
Instead, his large hands pin your wrists to the headboard, those sharp green eyes peering at you through half-mast lids.
Zayne licks his lips, and subconsciously, you track the minute movement, biting on your own lower lip.
The air turns heavier; sweetened with the promise of an unforgettable night.
You accidentally tick your hips up, catching the front of his slacks. Your eyes widen when you feel an unmistakable bulge digging right into your crotch; Zayne's loss of composure pushing right into the heat of your thighs, demanding for your attention.
In contrast, his expression doesn't change; an almost bored emerald gaze fixed on your every reaction.
"You do know what will happen tonight, right?"
Trying hard not to shiver, you nod.
"Yes," you mumble, suddenly meek.
"Yes, what?"
You swallow, darting your gaze over his shoulder. He grunts, squeezing down on your wrists with enough pressure to make it throb, but not enough to leave a bruise.
"Sir!" You yelp. "Y-yes, Sir."
One corner of his mouth ticks, and exhales a short huff. "Good. You still have your manners intact, I see."
Leaning up, he unbuttoned his vest. Using one hand to gather your wrists together, the free one was left to tug on his tie; Windsor knot giving way to a strip of his pale skin.
You eyed the expanse of his neck hungrily; unabashed, even when his lips curl into a sinful smile.
“It seems like someone here has missed me,” Zayne whispers, and you fight back a shiver when he leans in, close enough for his breath to stir the loose locks on your cheeks.
“I’m… sorry,” was all you could offer him weakly. Zayne’s thin lips curl into a smirk. At this point, you weren’t even sure why he wasnt fucking you yet—what he was waiting for. “Please…” without a second thought, you clip your hips against his, trying to ease the tension between your thighs. “I need you, Zayne.”
His grunt was low—a warning. “Do you think you deserve it? I can’t keep reminding you to put yourself first, my darling. What if I’m gone? What would you do?”
Even though it was a hypothetical question, your chest couldn’t help but squeeze at the thought of a Zayne-less life. You would rather feed yourself to a Wanderer than go a day without him.
“I’m sorry,” you mumble, earnest this time. “I was careless. I should’ve listened to you. I… I’ll try my best to take care of myself.”
Zayne gives you a look, like he doesn’t believe you for a single second. It has you scrambling your ringing mind to say something else.
But, before you do, the world tilts, and you’re in his lap. Zayne’s lips were an inch away from yours. You zero in on them. Missing how they would feel gently slotted against your own—when you disregard the hesitation to plant your mouth on his.
Patiently, like a martyr or a long suffering saint, Zayne lets you kiss him. He doesn’t respond back, at least not like what you expect.
No flames, no passion. It was as good as kissing a stone statue.
There was no yield in his gaze; those flinty green eyes refusing to thaw.
You repress a full body shiver.
Suddenly, the coolness of the room becomes more pronounced. You feel the chill on your skin, where his long fingers wrap around your fleshy hips spilling past the Hunter-standard pants.
“I should punish you for that.”
A flurry of movement. Your face meets the downy mattress, mouthful of cotton stoppering your protests.
Sharp, stinging pain explodes across your ass. The sound of a large palm meeting skin echoes around the room again; your surprised yelp bouncing from wall to wall.
Soothingly, he rubs the ache from your tender globes, and in a voice dripping with sympathy, whispers, “I apologize for having to do this, my Aurora.”
Your back arches, the sudden awareness of your vulnerability penetrating your fuzzy mind. Pinned to the bed, his bigger frame pressing down on yours—you were trapped in the eye of a frigid storm.
“Zayne,” you whine, too aware of how warm his body felt on yours.
I promise to take care of you, his voice rings in your head. Of memories during summer nights, skin stuck to skin, your head on his chest. I can’t lose you—not to the Wanderers or your own carelessness.
Zayne ceaselessly kept that promise—his devotion unmatched. And you were carelessly throwing it away every single day, right in his face. Denying his care, his treatment.
It all became clear to you in that split second.
He was past waiting for your excuses and apologies; all he wants is to make sure you never forget yourself ever again.
Zayne props you on his lap once more, leaning back against the headboard.
“I want you to cum—”
It’s embarrassing how quickly you perk up only to be let down when he disclaims his generosity with a contradictory footnote.
“—without my help.”
He rests his head back, the arch of his neck tempting you to plant kisses down the pale stretch of skin; his Adam’s apple bobbing. The silence grows; you feel like you could suffocate from the chill spreading between your two tense bodies.
You shift forward, incredulous. “What the heck do you mean by that?”
Zayne flickers his gaze to where your crotch snugly fits on top of his thigh. “You’re a smart girl… I’m sure you will figure it out soon.”
You huff, a pout pushing your displeasure right into his face.
“You’re mean. I already said I was sorry.”
But, he wasn’t going to budge. If there was one thing Zayne would never compromise on, it was caring for you. Sometimes, it scared you—how utterly serious he took his job as your caretaker in and out of the hospital walls.
No amount of reasoning could change his mind. It was either you play his game, or walk away with that pit gnawing right at the bottom of your stomach—unfulfilled and gaping.
You lean back. Friction, burning hot, zings up your spine, and suddenly, what he wants you to do clicks in.
“Oh.”
You swallow. Outside, rain begins to splatter on the windowpane. The world goes blue and dark, holding its breath in tandem with yours.
Locking your hands on his shoulders, you lean forward. Then, shift back. And do it again and again until you feel the heat burning you up; razing your self control down to ashes as you let out a small, shaky moan.
“Good girl,” Zayne whispers into the dark of your room. “You’re so pretty like this—getting off on my thigh.”
You peel your teary eyes onto his softening ones. His jaw clenches, and a vein throbs in his temple. He fights back the urge to thrust up—to meet your sensual grinding. It was a losing battle. Every needy whimper slipping past your wet lips sends a pleasurable jolt to his cock. But, he can’t give in just yet. You had to learn your lesson the hard way.
There’s an indecent spot of wetness staining his slacks. The dark material of your pants hides your arousal well, but Zayne can practically smell you.
Sweet musk and a fragrant vanilla.
His heart thrums wildly, staccato beats that match the constant pulsing of his aching cock.
I need her so badly. He wants nothing more than to be buried in you; to watch you fall apart under his tender care.
Every mellifluous whimper dripping from your lax mouth makes him see stars; coated with ecstasy, your eagerness continues to seep into the expensive fabric of his slacks.
Zayne makes a mental note to get it dry cleaned at his earliest convenience.
It should’ve annoyed him—this extra chore on his already burdened shoulders. But, he doesn’t care much for the cost of sending his expensive, tailored suits to the best dry cleaners in Linkon City.
He would let you squirt all over them ten times over if it meant he could bring you to your zenith of pleasure and back.
Those beautiful emerald eyes never leave yours; devouring every reaction. Studying your shifts and dips. Calculating his next move in his head.
You might’ve thought Zayne was hewn from rock with how quiet he was.
But, if you would look closer, you would’ve seen how his hands were stuffed into fists right by his side. The shake in his breath when you toss your head back. How he could barely keep his jaw from tightening when you mewl out his name.
I promise to take care of her—no matter what. Caleb and your grandmother were witnesses to his solemn vow.
He would keep his word. Do everything in his power to keep their precious girl in line—even if she thought it was unfair.
“Zayne, please,” you try to beg again. He only scoffs.
Mean. He was so, so mean.
You were aching all over, yearning for it. Needing his touch and attention on your body to drive yourself over the edge.
Unfortunately for you, his self-control is immaculate. It doesn’t fold nor break. In the operation room, and outside of it, his priority was to maintain a level-headed calm wherever he went.
But, inwardly, with you on his lap; all pouty, kissable lips and pussy dripping her excitement on his thigh, Zayne finds his famed composure cracking under the weight of your desire.
“Zayne,” you hiccup. “Please. Please. Touch me.”
Large, veiny hands grip your thighs, dragging you close.
His mouth finally presses on yours, and it feels like a sparked flame striking near a mountain of straw.
He tries to keep his wits—he really does. Reminds himself not to indulge you again; to finally make you see how much he cares for you through this cruel game.
Like a fluctuation cutting through permanent winds that flow steadfastly North, only you had the power to sway his decisions.
"Zayne," you moan into his mouth.
Then, in an instant, the flame sparks. The mountain of dry yearning goes up.
Every carefully constructed ploy is destroyed.
Zayne kisses you like his life depended on it. Messy, clacking teeth, spit mixing and running down chins; hot hands grappling any inch of skin available.
Your clothes were pushed off your body and onto the floor. Zayne’s luxurious vest and button down shirt was almost torn from his body by your eager hands.
The bare lines of his torso and muscular thighs fit perfectly with yours, his body slotting in between your spread legs.
Sharp lines bloom down his back, your nails dragging down his skin; his eyes almost rolling back into his head when he sinks into your heat.
“Shit,” he cusses, almost inaudible. The sound of wetness meeting in the darkening room, your moans and his heavy pants fill the air.
Good girl. Move your hips like that. You’re doing so well for me. I love you. I love you. If you disobey me again, your punishment will be more severe. You’re everything to me, my Aurora.
“Zayne!” your cry shatters like a bullet unloading from a smoking gun. He almost flinches back when you squeal right in his ear, back tensing and arching like a taut string.
Slipping a hand in between your bodies, he nudges and plays with your clit, drawing your high to an unbearable tension.
He feels your heels digging into his hips, your sweet pussy squeezing down on his length like the world’s most precious love declaration. You bury your face into his neck; feel his pulse fluttering against your lips.
“Inside,” you whimper, as if you could read his mind. “I want you inside, Zayne.”
He grunts, his entire body trembling from the force of the tight band around his lower body.
Zayne ruts up into you, little more than an animal in heat—the ridges and bumps of your pussy gets him in a higher state of mind, delirious enough to start moaning shamelessly.
You grip his face, touching your foreheads together. Zayne’s lips find yours, and within that split second you believe something fundamentally true.
That in every life, every form, every stretch between space and time—you would never forget how his lips feel like on yours.
A shuddering breath right on your neck. The twitch of his cock nudging right on your sweet, golden spot.
You tense, toes curling—
—and shatter around his cock gloriously.
Warmth spreads deep in your body, taking over your toes and fingers. Driving you heady with the taste of him on your tongue.
Zayne finishes inside you, breathing hard against the shell of your ear.
The silence is broken by his soft gasp, and you feel the wet pull of his cock out of your puffy pussy. Immediately, he replaces the emptiness with the full circle of his arms around your tired body.
You sigh, sticky and filled with longing, face protected right in the crook of his neck.
“Zayne?”
“Hmm?”
He plays with a loose lock of your hair. Not one for many words, Zayne’s actions speak louder and sweeter than any poetry you had ever read.
Rolling you over, he hovers close, lips gently brushing your cheeks, temple and finally, your lips.
“I love you,” your confession spurs something primal and tender in his soul. He kisses you once, twice, to wipe out the dark need to claim you again and again until every fiber of your skin is written with his name.
“I love you, too.”
He presses one long kiss onto your forehead and chuckles to himself.
"Come on. Follow me to the kitchen. Don't think I forgot about those 8 glasses of water you didn't drink today..."

Hello, can you do LADS men's reaction to MC/reader working too hard, to the point that she looks tired and drained? She also easily gets sick because of stress. And yes, it's based on me; right now, I'm so tired because of work, and I have dance practice almost every day for our departmental performance while I'm sick with the flu. Thank you 💜
Sorry for the delay, but I wanted to do this one justice as best as I could, because oh man did I feel this personally! Not the same at all, but I get heavy duty chronic pain, and I overwork myself often by choice or not, all the time. Feel better anon <3 I hope you enjoy, and make sure to get some Pedialyte or sports drinks, and rest whenever you can. Your health is extremely important!
Love and Deepspace Li's reactions to you being overworked and sick
Zayne -
He's a doctor, you can't even get into the realm of hoping to hide it from him for long, and you'll want to hide it from him if you're actually wanting to be doing whatever it is that's causing you to be overworked to the point of illness.
He will take a single look at you the first time he sees you once you've reached this point- routine examination, stopping by work to see you or vice versa, running something by your place he borrowed, even just you making the mistake of taking an offered ride home from him due to how tired you are. It was a lapse in judgement on your part in trying to keep this from him, but your beyond exhausted brain didn't process it at the time.
But you sure are processing it now that you've been 'kidnapped' and taken back to his place.
He has already filled out a formal doctors note- benefits of being your primary physician- and sent it over to your bosses and managers. There's no arguing.
"Zayne, I'm-" "If you are about to try a weak attempt at convincing me you are alright, I will accept it as you insulting my intelligence as a doctor."
You're in his bed, under his blankets, probably in his pajamas since he wouldn't let you escape home, and drinking the warm drink he made for you to have after taking medicine he had given you to help with your illness. He'll order food that will be good for you to eat as well, and if it's too late for takeout, he'll definitely be cooking for you as well.
Once you're done eating, he'll make sure you're properly cared for by massaging any tired or pained muscles. If that's your entire body, then so be it. Close your eyes, tilt hour head back, and relax even though it hurts in a good way sometimes, because he's not letting up.
Not until you feel better. No matter how long that takes.
Rafayel -
Genuinely, he's offended and hurt that you've overworked yourself this hard and haven't told him. And boy, is he going to let you know it.
He's carrying you gently from wherever he had found you looking so tired- no it does not matter if you were in the middle of working- while actively scolding you in his arms.
"Maybe I should just leave you there all day, come see you in the evening when you get a bad case of amnesia. Would you like that? Huh? No? Well, then stop being stupid."
He doesn't even want to dare set foot in your place right now. He's not in the mood to clean, and he knows if this is the state you're in, your apartment is probably so much worse due to just how busy and exhausted you've been.
He'll go clean it later, but right now he's just grumpy.
There is something about the fresh, oceanside air that helps your headache though- or maybe it's the light linen on his bed that he would have dropped you on had you not looked like the most frail thing he had seen all week.
He's muttering snarky remarks to you, but they're devoid of any bite due to his actions as he speaks them-
Getting you a fluffy robe to change into, putting something simple in the oven while you get comfortable, working special lotion into your muscles, making you lemon and honey tea, making it more humid so any sinus problems clear and help you breathe- he's being vocal through it all, but spoiling you as much as he can nonetheless.
"I don't care if you have a lot to do. Just- ask for help next time. And if I can't help with your work, at least let me help you relax once you're home. I don't mind you staying over either, so that I can make you feel better. Just promise me you'll do better next time, so I can help you before you get this bad."
Xavier -
He probably stopped by your apartment to return something he borrowed, and you made the mistake of answering the door directly after coming home. You were at your peak of tired, and your head had started pounding for some reason... and didn't you feel a bit hot...?
"Oh- You look- You don't look very good. Is everything alright?"
You can't even answer before he's reaching out a hand to hover in front of you, trying to decide between touching you and not, before deciding on the former. He can feel you're just the slightest bit unsteady from working so you're being scooped up in an instant and taken to the bed you had already been planning to go to.
"What have they been having you do...? Never mind. That's- not important right now."
Takes off your shoes and socks, murmurs something about giving you a massage in a bit, before tugging blankets and plushies around you. He'll leave to let you change into pajamas or something more comfortable, and he'll keep himself busy by making you something to eat or clean up your apartment for you.
He tries to cook you something, he really does try. But he definitely has more talent at talking on the phone to the restaurant he's ordering you takeout from. The pan he tried to use does not survive the attempt.
The takeout is good when it comes, though, and it helps that he gave you some medicine prior to help keep it down. Even if you're not currently nauseous, he's pretty worried about your state worsening quickly.
You won't notice until it's too late, but he's already finding out how to transfer some of your workload to himself. By 'some', it's definitely 'all'.
"No, I won't change my mind. Not until you're better. You're so tired, let me do this for you. You can make it up to me by getting me something in the claw machine later."
Sylus -
"I'm just going to go-"
"Go where, kitten?"
You had made the mistake of nearly falling over under the watchful gaze of Mephisto, who had decided it would be absolutely wonderful to relay the information about it and your current state back to Sylus as quickly as he could.
Which is how you had ended up stuck in the hallway the led to your apartment, practically pinned to the wall with Sylus's hands on either side of you.
That is also how you ended up slung over Sylus's shoulder as he unlocked your apartment door for you and went inside, carrying you like it was nothing.
To be fair, you couldn't do much to fight him off this time except utilize a few choice words. You were so beyond exhausted, and starting to feel pretty ill, to boot.
He's got you to bed as soon as the door is shut. You're allowed a hot shower if you promise him a few dozen times that you'll get straight to bed after. He makes sure to promise you that he'll come and make you get in bed if you go against that promise. For once, you don't want to call his bluff.
You're in bed soon enough, with a cool rag pressed on your forehead, some pain medication long since down your throat, and food already on the way courtesy of Luke and Kieran's special henchmen delivery service.
Lying in bed is like heaven on your sore muscles and aching joints, not to mention the pounding headache you've had since starting to feel sick and missing out on sleep. But what somehow feels even better is Sylus's hands on you.
They're just gentle touches, his fingertips ghosting over your skin to leave goosebumps at how nice it feels, and sometimes his whole hands moving slowly and lightly across your body. He'll massage your muscles later, but for now, he's just focused on getting you to sleep, even if just for a little bit until the food gets here.
He knows you need it.

Your Birthday Is So Special !
You don't really celebrate your birthday it tends to just be another day for you. You've gone as far as to forget your own birthday some years and since you never mention your birthday it's almost a mystery. The LADS Men want to show you how special your birthday is since if that day never happened they wouldn't be looking at the love of their life. What would they do to celebrate your birthday? A/N: Ms. "I don't care about my birthday" meets Mr. "Your birthday is so special" [Requested by: miacara2]
Zayne
Zayne would take the day off for your birthday. I'm not talking he just so happened to have the day off. No. This man would do what he needed to do to get the day off just for your special day. Since he is you primary care physician your birthday is on file so he's aware of it even without you telling him.
He would have spoken to Jenna days or weeks prior to get you out of work by noon without being suspicious. You would come out of the building to find him standing there with a box of your favorite sweets and treats. "What are you doing here? What's all this?" You'd question with a giddy smile on your face; seeing Zayne unexpectedly was always a serotonin boost.
"Are you free this afternoon?" He'd ask avoiding your questions while flashing that cute half-millimeter smile of his, but his eyes would dance with mischief. "I am?" You'd furrow your brows in confusion. He'd intertwine his fingers with yours and take you to do whatever your little heart desires for the day. Once you're exhausted from the day he would offer to take you home.
This is where your real surprise would be. He would have your countertops covered in gifts and sweets along with a beautiful cake. "Zayne....when did you do this?" He would definitely stand there relishing in your shocked face. "It took all morning, but it was more than worth it" You couldn't help but hug him tightly you never thought you'd actually be happy to celebrate your birthday.
"Happy Birthday My Love let's celebrate together every year from now on"
Rafayel
Rafayel would be simply appalled at the fact you don't celebrate your birthday. "What do you mean it's just another day!?" He asked wide-eyed. "It's just not important" He would be so upset to hear you talk about your birthday like that. To him your birthday is like a national holiday there's no way he could let the sun take another trip around the earth without celebrating.
Rafayel: When is it? MC: I'm not telling you Rafayel: If you dont tell me I'll just figure it out MC: Good luck
He was indeed able to figure it out. How? Let's just say he has connections if he wants information he'll get it. He'd waste no time planning a whole day for the two of you. I picture Rafayel wanting to give you that childlike gleeful birthday that you never had growing up. He'd take you to an arcade or amusement park or even a fair/night market and would tell everyone it's your birthday "It's this pretty girls' birthday today!"
Now Although Rafayel is indeed a silly little guy he is very sentimental. At the end of the night he'd take you to an exhibit he rented out for just the two of you. It would be covered in his painted portraits of you along with candid photographs. Each one would have a gift or your favorite sweet perched on a cocktail table underneath it. "Why would you do this?" You asked in shock. "Because a special girl deserves to be treated as such especially on her special day Happy Birthday Cutie"
Xavier
He's used to forgetting his own birthday since he never considered it very special. Though something stirred in him when he overheard Simone, Tara, and Lisa asking you what you wanted to do for your birthday. You seemed to brush them off with a sweet smile saying "Nothing it's not a big deal just treat it like any other day" They all huffed and puffed at your words as you scurried off saying you had some research to do.
"We need to do something for her birthday she works so hard!" Tara said in a whisper-shout to Lisa and Simone. Xavier would barge into the conversation his lips moving before his brain could catch up "Can I be of service in this secret plan?" Contrary to popular belief Xavier would end up spearheading all the planning. He would want your girls to be involved since he sees how much they love you and how much you love them.
He would have you spend the day with your girls and the night with him. Your girls would be there right when you wake up screaming happy birthday in your face. They would take you to get your hair and nails done along with a little lunch date and shopping spree. You would be all dolled up and pretty by the time they dropped you off at home where Xavier was waiting with music, gifts, flowers and a cake. I also imagine since he is the one who taught you how to dance he would take you to a beautiful garden where he would dance the night away with you like Cinderella.
"I know I said birthdays were nothing special, but yours is and I want to spend every year with you. Happy Birthday My Lady"
Sylus
Sylus is not letting your birthday pass without a proper celebration. First of all he's taking you out the country for sure. That beautiful island you've been looking at? Yup he got a villa on it and flies you down there on his private jet so you have the utmost comfort. "Where are we going?" You'd ask as he escorts you up the stairs onto the plane. "Somewhere special" His answer was nonchalant as he poured you a glass of wine. "What's the occasion?" he would glance at you and let his beautiful smile spread across his face as he slipped the glass into your hand "Something special" You scoffed at his answer.
Although you never mentioned when your birthday was of course Sylus did his research. He planned for months to make your surprise perfect. You would land and walk into the villa fully decorated with balloons, all your favorite foods, a desert bar with a cake, and flourishing with gifts. Even the twins would already be there jumping out at you to yell surprise.
Sylus would make your birthday into a full weeklong celebration/vacation. "You overdid it you know? My birthday really isn't that important" Your words end up going in one ear and out the other. You were his special girl everything involving you was special especially your birthday. Otherwise how would he be able to smile in this drab world if you weren't here?
"That's why I've made it my mission to show your otherwise" He'd smile down at you and flick your forehead. "Happy Birthday Princess"

a/n: zayne my boo <3 im sobbing over the fact that the game killed off mc’s grandma and caleb 😭
.
ミ★ Love & Deep Space ミ★
pairing: zayne x fem!reader
warning(s): mentions of death, mentions of the explosion that killed mc’s grandma + childhood best friend (caleb) in game, spoilers(?)
Summary: Ever since that day, you’ve fallen in a deep, dark pit. Why did you have to be the one that they decide to destroy? Why did Caleb and Grandma have to die? Is it your fault they did? Zayne, as your primary care physician and a family friend, is concerned for your well-being.
“Sometimes, a small gesture is all it takes.”
The sound of the news on your TV, the thundering rain outside, the sound of the cars driving by your apartment—it all blurs out as you stared at the TV screen, eyes dead and unfocused on the news of the Wanderers attacking and the explosions. Some 22 casualties, two deaths. Grandma and Caleb. His necklace that you bought him as a goodbye gift when he left for the Aerospace Academy sits beside a picture of you, him, and Grandma on the coffee table, the cheerful smiles making you wished that you could revisit time.
Your apartment, once somewhat organized and clean, is now messy with things being knocked down and dirty dishes long discarded. You stare at the one last thing your Grandma left for you, some..tablet(?) with a final letter on it. You haven’t gotten the energy or the ability to open it. It pains you, seeing that you haven’t visited for so long yet when you do, this was the time her house had to explode right in front of you, flames engulfing the house and the only thing that remained was Caleb’s necklace.
“I miss you, Grandma..” You mumbled to nobody, rubbing the tears threatening to spill out your eyes as you glanced down at the item she left you with. Besides that, a small box of her old recipes of those notecards, and other small things that she had entrusted to you years before.
Around you was your laptop, papers and files on the latest Wanderer attacks around you. Yes, Captain Jenna dismissed you and said that you should take some days off to regain your energy, since you haven’t been getting the sleep or the energy you needed, but you just couldn’t.
Your door opened, yet you didn’t bother to look at who entered. “Still sitting in front of the TV?” A familiar voice spoke out, flipping the light switch on and shutting the door behind him. It was Zayne, a long time family friend and your primary care physician. “You haven’t eaten,” he bluntly says as he sets a bag of food on your table and walked into the kitchen. He bites back a sigh, knowing that you were going through a tough time, and people tended to discard everything and grieve and grieve their hearts out.
“Hello to you too, Zayne,” you replied as you shut off the news and got up off your sofa. You pile up all the papers and files you’ve scattered around and set them on the coffee table before you walk into the kitchen as Zayne is cleaning up your dirty dishes. He checks in on you whenever he’s free or when he’s off his shift. He looks back at you, only making a small hum of acknowledgment before cleaning up your dirty kitchen. You looked terrible—eyes red and puffy from crying, obvious eye bags, and the sparkles from your eyes were gone.
You yawn as you take out a bowl and some utensils for whatever food he brought in for you. You unpacked the bag as he cleaned up the dishes you couldn’t bother doing last week. Potatoes, avocado on the side, tuna salad, salmon and rice you said to yourself as you took out the food that he had carefully backed in those plastic containers for you. Then you took out the last thing. Cookie..dough? He remembered your favorite childhood snack. The kind of cookie dough you liked.
“Your grandma gave me a recipe for the cookie dough. She said that if she couldn’t make it, I should since it lightens your mood,” Zayne says as he puts your clean dishes back into the cabinet. He dries his hand off before walking over to you, watching how you stare at it like a piece of gold. Disbelief and shock were etched on your face.
Zayne puts his hand on your back, soothingly rubbing circles as you opened the container and took a bite. Your eyes almost brimmed with tears again. You could remember how your grandma used to bake in the kitchen and you’d always sneak a bite or two of the cookie dough, no care in the world if you could get salmonella.
“Thank..you, Zayne,” you finally said, turning around tightly hugging him. He was a bit hesitant at first, but he put his hand on your head, massaging your scalp as he looked down at you with a gentle look on his face.
“..You’re welcome. I miss her too.”
Zayne’s eyes looked away at the picture on the counter of your grandma. She didn’t have to go out this way.

—a/n: one more chapter to go for these lovebirds 💕 happy birthday to our sweet yuyu!! also, next weekend, i'll be posting home (khj). lmk if you want to be on the taglist, but it'll be quite an angsty fic!
♣︎ 2 MONTHS LATER
"No, stop. Yunho." You almost whine when you hear Yunho sigh on the other line.
"I'm sorry, my girlfriend typically calls me babe."
"No, you're not listening to me. I told you it was fine, I promise."
"Baby, I'm not missing your competition." He says lowly, sitting in the chair while him and his mom wait for her doctor to come in. Your competition fell on the weekend Yunho went home, his mom's important check-in with her primary care physician being scheduled on the same Saturday. He had originally scheduled her check-in for the week, but had to reschedule and open up clinic hours on Saturday due to an emergency that arose at home. Yunho already felt guilty enough that he wouldn't be able to accompany her during the week, so when the news broke that it had been rescheduled for the weekend, Yunho immediately drove home.
And you, being the sweetest and most understanding, hugged him tightly and wished them well. Even though at the bottom of his heart, he also felt guilty for leaving you knowing what the weekend held.
You reassured him over and over again that he didn't need to drive all the way back just to see you, but Yunho couldn't take no for an answer. The appointment was early on, and he knew he'd make it just a bit into the start of the competition. He didn't care if it'd tire him.
He just wanted to be there, too.
"I don't care if you do. Your mom needs you the most. My competition is just a competition."
"I know how much this means to you, though."
"There will be more, k? I promise there will be more opportunities for you to cheer me on." He sighs.
"Including this one."
"You're so stubborn." You half-heartedly scold him with a chuckle. "Go. Be with your mom. Please."
"I'll see you in a bit."
"Jeong Yunho." You give off a small groan, making him laugh.
"I love you." He says all loud and proud, making his mom silently chuckle off to the side while her son continues to show off his affection.
"Yeah, love you too. Even though, you don't listen to me!" You scold once more before hanging up.
"Ah, she's a piece of work." He mutters to himself as he does a head tilt.
"She's cute." His mom says, sitting on the chair in front of him, making Yunho chuckle.
"Hm, equally cute and a handful." Yunho leans onto his knees. "You're still okay with coming to her competition, right?"
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." She gives Yunho a sweet smile. "I hope she doesn't mind that we'll be there?"
"Of course not. She'd be happy to see you and auntie."
"Is her family going to be there, too?" He nods.
"You'll finally meet them." She laughs.
"I'm sure they're just as lovely as her."
At this point, the doctor knocks on the door a few times to signal his entrance before walking in, a bright smile on his face as he greets the both of them. The check-up carries on for close to an hour, where Yunho is listening attentively to make sure he's taking note of what to do to keep his mom healthy and comfortable. Towards the end though, he's satisfied with how everything turns out and he's happy to know his mom is doing well and is stable.
On the way out, he holds her by the arm, going over the visit and proudly reassuring his mom that she was doing great with taking care of herself and her health. He helps her into the car and makes sure she's buckled in before walking over to the driver's side and rushing over to the house to pick up his aunt. Once everyone is in the car and ready to head to the competition, Yunho makes a quick stop at a floral shop to buy you a bouquet. He shyly rolls his eyes and blushes when his mom and aunt tease him about it, his mom saying she rose him well and that you'd love the flowers.
When Yunho arrives, he sees a few people still trailing into the venue and it eases his mind a bit that he's not the only one walking in late. He gets lucky with parking in the main lot next door, careful to keep up a good pace that both his mom and aunt are able to work with. Getting inside, the competition has already started [as expected], but the group performing isn't one he's familiar with. Yunho holds onto the huge bouquet of flowers he bought, setting it onto his lap when they settle in a few open seats near the middle. He lets out a breath of relief when he quickly scans the program and sees that your group isn't up until later.
Overall, it's a pretty lively event and everyone in the crowd is cheering and roaring no matter what the occasion is on stage. It isn't a huge competition, and a lot of the groups are smaller than your own dance group; but everyone seems to be happy on stage and enjoying themselves. Yunho thinks that's all that really matters, and it's nice for people who have the same passion to get together for some fun, friendly competition.
Plus, he's enjoying himself because his aunt and his mom are— he truthfully was afraid it would be too loud or chaotic for them, but he feels relieved and a bit more comfortable. Everything moves so, so fast that the one moment he blinks, he finds the lights dimming before shining onto familiar faces.
He sees your familiar figure. Your friends.
He feels his heart beating out of his chest, the adrenaline rushing through his veins. He knows you and your friends will kill it out there and he's excited for the crowd to see what you have in store. He finds himself with a major death grip on the arm rests because he feels himself wanting to get up and cheer you on in the middle of the aisle [regardless of how embarrassing that may be, he doesn't really care]. But, he manages to stay still; though his eyes glow and are full of admiration.
He is utterly enamored by you, and Yunho's mom and aunt think it's the sweetest thing.
You gracefully and powerfully move across the stage and Yunho didn't know it was possible to fall in love with you even more. He finds himself cheering loudly, hoping you can hear him and see him from the stage, hoping you know he's there and will always be there to support you through anything. Because he wants to, and he loves seeing you happy doing what you love doing. When the piece finally ends, the crowd is incredibly hyped and Yunho immediately shoots up to stand and clap, flowers now resting on his mom's lap for safety measures.
"She's so good! They all are! They deserve to win this!" His aunt leans over to look at him.
"I know. They do." He smiles from ear to ear.
"Look at your ears, they're so red." His mom gently tugs on his ear. "You're so in love." She teases.
"And what about it?" He pouts and whines. "I just like showing her off. She's good everything she does, and I want her to know that." Lord knows Seonghwa didn't put in any effort to make you feel valued and reassured. He's not entirely sure how long you've been feeling that way, how long you've doubted yourself— but, as long as he's around, he'll make sure you never feel that way again. How could anyone ever compare to you?
"As you should." She smiles at him.
The rest of the show goes on just as lively and entertaining as it started, with a small break before winners are announced. Yunho is bouncing his leg in anticipation, eager to hear the results from the panel. It doesn't come as a surprise though when he hears two other groups winning second and third place because he knows. He just knows.
And he's right.
When the MC announces your group name for first place, Yunho swears he almost loses his voice from cheering. He sees you and your friends with happy tears streaming down your cheeks, and even though he believed everyone had a fair chance at winning today, you all truly deserved it. He knows how late you've stayed in the studio working on choreography, scraping an entire piece just to replace it with something 'better' even if it stressed you out doing so. There was no other group that showed the same dedication and passion as you and your friends, and he really, really wanted this for you all more than anything.
He can't wait to see you and hug you.
Kiss you.
old you.
Just be with you.
When the event ends, he's following behind his mom and aunt, keeping eyes on them to make sure they don't get lost in the crowd. He runs into your family exiting through the next set of double doors on his left and waves. Amidst the crowd chaos, he manages to say hi to your family and give them hugs before introducing his mom and his aunt— excusing himself shortly afterwards so he can run to the bathroom and be back before heading outside. It's a bit of a line, but Yunho waits patiently so he doesn't have to run off while he's with you. When he's done and making his way back outside, he still has to navigate through the crowds to get to your family and his family hanging out in an open area; almost running into another person just as he's about to make it over to the spot.
"Y-Yunho?" She almost comes face to face with his chest when she abruptly turns, trying to navigate her way through the crowd.
"Hayun?"
"Hey, nice to see you here?" She questions, unsure what Yunho would be doing here. It's been awhile, but from what she remembered, he was never into these things. She does a once-over and gives him a tiny smile, slightly ogling at how good he looks after all these years. He is glowing.
"Uh, yeah." He isn't really sure what to say since last time, she acted weird about seeing him. Maybe she had no choice but to greet him; she damn near ran straight into this chest. Still. It's a bit awkward, but it's nice to see she's at least well. "What're you doing here?"
"Well, I was on break, I'm leaving late tonight. My cousin performed with one of the groups. I don't know if you remember her, Soojin?" He nods.
"I do remember her. I guess she's grown well? I clearly didn't recognize her on the stage." She chuckles before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
"What're you doing here?"
"My girlfriend competed, too. Her family's here, my family. She was in the group that placed first." He looks over his shoulder before looking back down at her.
"Oh, that's sweet."
"Yeah." He clears his throat. "Anyway, I hope everything's been good with you. I hope you have a safe flight back, too."
"Thanks, and same." She nods. "I hope your mom and aunt are okay."
"They are. Thanks. Should probably get back to them." He gives off a small smile and a curt nod before turning on his heel to find his family, your family and everyone else. He sees Chaery and Seungmin come out from the side door before you and Soobin follow. He can see you searching high and low for him and it makes his heart flip.
"Yunho!" You squeal when you finally find him in the sea of people. You instantly run over, jumping into his arms while he holds onto you tightly.
"There she is." He says. "Hi baby." He says against your head. Hayun smiles to herself when she sees the moment you two share, quickly reminiscing about the times her and Yunho had in the past. But, in the end, she's happy that he's found someone and that he's genuinely happy. Yunho deserved it.
"Hi." You giggle, pulling back slightly to kiss him on the lips.
"You did amazing, love." He gently puts you down.
"Did I?! Do these look like the steps of a first place winner?" You do a silly little dance, making him laugh before pulling you for another kiss.
"Yeah, they do. Steps from the best, actually." You laugh and playfully pinch his arm.
"Goodjob, Y/N! You did great up there!" His mom and aunt say, followed by your family. You greet all of them one by one, giving them hugs and thanking them for coming— especially Yunho's mom and aunt for tagging along. It seems that your family and his were already kicking it off, your dad offering for them to join dinner along with Chaery, Soobin and Seungmin's family.
"Yes, please come to dinner with us!" You squeeze his mom's hand with a smile. She nods and pulls you in for another hug, the four of you walking alongside each other while your family, Chaery's, Soobin's and Seungmin's walked ahead. You and his mom talk a bit about your dance journey as you walk along before you get into the car with Soobin, Seungmin and Chaery; letting everyone know you'll meet them at the restaurant nearby.
You assume most of your group will end up at the same restaurant, and it ends up being true for the most part. Once the four of you unload and start heading inside, you run into Yeonjun and Jongho with their families. The restaurant ends up escorting everyone to the back area where most of the tables are available for bigger groups, and instantly gets to work on providing drinks and small appetizers for everyone to enjoy while looking at the menu. On your left is Chaery, while Yunho is on your right; the both of them cracking jokes with each other while the families order the main courses for tonight.
"Yuyu, how do you feel about graduation coming up?"
"I don't know. Good, for the most part."
"Dude, it's gonna be so different! Have you already applied to internships and jobs?"
"Yeah, I have. Got a few interviews coming up in the next few weeks."
"Good shit!" Chaery claps. "Your man is gonna be so prepared for the world." She nudges you on the side, making you giggle.
"I know, right?"
"Seriously, it's nothing. I don't wanna have a huge gap. I just wanna get into it, I guess."
"That's really good, though. Do you plan to have a party or anything?" He cocks a brow up and points at himself.
"Me?"
"Yes!"
"No, god no." Yunho laughs. "I'm very much good off of a party."
"What if we threw you one at the apartment? Or took you out to the club?!"
"No, don't do that. I promise, I'm good."
"Babe, we're gonna have to at least do dinner or something." He looks down at you with a fond smile before placing a chaste kiss to the side of your head.
"If you want."
"It's your graduation!" You laugh.
"Yeah, and quite frankly, I'd rather much just spend the night with you doing other things." He says lowly near your ear, causing the heat to rise to your cheeks while you subtly nibble on your bottom lip.
"Cute, dinner sounds nice and cozy." Chaery adds. "But since you don't plan to celebrate with a party—" She leans over to look at her parents. "Mom, dad, Yunho's graduating soon! Can we order some dessert?"
"That's a good idea. Should we order some dessert to celebrate early?" Yunho's ears turn red as he shakes his head and refuses.
"No, no! It's okay! We don't have to—"
"Yeah, let's order some dessert!" Your dad agrees, along with the rest of the table. Your dad calls over the waitress to add dessert to the order for the entire table, reassuring Yunho's mom and aunt that they didn't need to worry about dinner [or dessert] tonight.
"Thank you." He says shyly.
"So, Yunho. Have you been getting ready for graduation and everything?" Yunho nods, essentially telling your family [and everyone else] what he told Chaery and how he just wants to get right into working after graduation. Mainly, Yunho wants to do this for his mom and aunt, but also for you. Because life includes you now; all about you.
Once the food arrives, everyone takes turns and rotates the dishes amongst each other before setting it down in the middle of the table for seconds and so on. Yunho doesn't even help himself first and decides to serve you some food before tending to himself. Dinner goes on happily, with everyone in good spirits and conversing in between bites about school and upcoming summer plans. Seungmin's dad mentions camping and how he wants to coordinate something for the group this summer, knowing the perfect campsite about 3 hours away that resides right by a lake. He invites Yunho, his mom and his aunt, reassuring them that they'd enjoy it over there, too.
Yunho slightly nudges you and smiles while drinking his water, leaning closer to you just as he sets the glass back down.
"Any other plans for the summer, love?"
"Not that I know of. Maybe I'll get myself a little summer job, too.
"Mm, maybe I can help fill the rest of your schedule up? If you're okay with that?"
"If you won't be too busy working!"
"I won't be. I'll always make time for you, you know that, right?" He gives you a soft look. "Plus, while we still have the time open, I wanna plan something and take you somewhere."
"Like where?" He shrugs.
"Somewhere where we can't drive to."
"Oh, like an actual trip-trip?!"
"Yup."
"Eep, where!" You squeal and he chuckles.
"I'll figure it out. Leave it up to me, hm?"
"I'm actually so lucky, it's insane." Yunho laughs a little louder at the compliment while shaking his head, digging into the last bits of his food.
"I feel the same. But, I really just wanna spend as much time with you as I can."
"Sounds like it'll be a good summer for us." You eat up the rest of your food before setting your plate aside nicely. "Babe, are you sure you're okay to drive after? Do you want me to come, or do you want me to drive your mom and aunt back?"
"I would never in a million years let you drive alone like that."
"But, you're tired." You pout.
"Mm, all worth it though. Cause we got to see you guys win, plus I get cake." You laugh.
"I knew you wanted the cake." He playfully shushes you. "I can come along, though!"
"No. Absolutely not."
"Why not?" You whine. "Just tell me you don't want me around, jeez." He smirks.
"That's never the case. I just know you'll be tired and I want you to rest. Promise I'll be good, okay?"
"Can I wait for you at your spot, then?"
"Of course you can. Yeo's gonna be home by the time we get back."
"Perfect, I'll bother him 'till you come." He gives you another big smile just as the dessert makes its way to the table. Everyone loudly cheers for the group's win today, along with congratulating Yunho for graduation coming up. You look at him in pure admiration when he blushes and respectfully thanks everyone for the cake and greetings.
And it's that moment when you catch the sparkle in his eyes, the glow, the warmth radiating from him. It's not that Yunho didn't have all these things in the beginning; they were there, just dim. Not as bright, not as warm. Over time, he's grown and blossomed into one of the most important people in your life, someone everyone clearly adored and cherished.
That might've been the moment that changed the trajectory of everything for you two because it finally clicked that he was who you wanted— back then, now, in the future.
You love Yunho; really, really love Yunho.
Everything about him brings pure love, genuine happiness and safety. Three important factors that you longed for in a relationship, but were never familiar with until Yunho came around.
The rest of dinner goes on well, with everyone fighting to pay the bill before it eventually settles between your family and Chaery's. Everyone walks alongside of each other before parting to their own cars and preparing to make their journey back home. Before you part ways with Yunho, his mom and aunt, you give them a big, tight hug before giving Yunho a quick peck on the lips. You look him dead in the eye and make him promise that he'd be absolutely okay to drive back and forth, and that he'd stay behind if he really couldn't make it back. He gives you a smug smirk, making you pinch him on the arm before bidding your last farewell to his family. You follow suit with your own family, your dad hopping into his car while your mom and sister drove together.
The ride back home is fairly calm, with Soobin in the driver's seat. There's the occasional bickering between Seungmin and Chaery, but otherwise, everyone is busy recounting the day and discussing the different groups and their pieces. Surprisingly, you're all still energetic throughout the entire ride; not one person complaining about being tired or wanting to catch up on sleep.
It does change once you finally arrive home and set your things aside, immediately putting the flowers into a free vase with some water. Soobin plops onto the couch face down as he claims he's exhausted from all the driving, while Seungmin sits on the floor beside him. You hurry into the bathroom and take a quick shower so Chaery can follow and get comfortable. You throw on some comfortable clothes and unpack your things and clean up around your area of the room before heading over to Yunho and Yeosang's for the evening. You say your goodnight's to your roommates before walking over, your Uggs making a loud noise as you drag them across the concrete. When you arrive at the unit, the kitchen lights are on, but you can barely hear a peep through the other side of the door. You knock a few times before Yeosang is coming to the door in his tank top and sweats.
"Hey hey!"
"Oh, hey! I heard you placed first! Congrats!" Yeosang pulls you into a hug before stepping aside to let you in. "Where's your boyfriend?"
"He's dropping off his mom and aunt, then he'll come back."
"They came to the competition, too?"
"Yeah, they did!" You respond as you walk into Yunho's room, with Yeo following and leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed tightly against his chest.
"Damn, what a drive. Sorry I couldn't make it. It was my baby cousin's birthday party."
"No, it's okay! You didn't miss much anyway."
"I missed my friends placing first, so yeah." You give him a tiny smile and shake your head.
"There's still next year. You have plenty of other opportunities to come when you aren't busy!"
"You're right."
"If you really wanna make up for it though, you can keep me company while I wait for Yunho." He laughs and nods.
"Yeah, of course. What do you have in mind?" He follows you out to the living room.
"I don't know. Maybe we can just watch a random movie? He'll be back by the time it's over, hopefully."
"Gotta watch a long one. Like Lord of the Rings or something. Star Wars. Avengers: Endgame."
"Ou, I'm down for some Avengers."
"Cool." You lay on the couch with the blanket wrapped around you while Yeosang sits on the floor, navigating through the movies before he lands on the Avengers. The both of you quietly begin the movie, with Yeosang reciting very random facts about the Avengers. You respond with follow-up questions, allowing Yeosang to do a deep dive. It's not until about an hour and a half in that you feel the exhaustion hitting you; eyes and body suddenly feeling heavy.
"You get what I'm saying right?" Yeosang asks, but doesn't receive a response. "Y/N?" He calls for you, only to turn over his shoulder and see you fast asleep. He chuckles to himself before returning his attention to the TV, turning down the volume so that it isn't too loud for you.
In the next 45 minutes, Yunho quietly walks into the apartment, seeing you fast asleep on the couch while Yeosang continues to watch TV on the floor— the movie no longer on. He smirks at Yunho before turning back to check on you, a silent chuckle leaving his lips.
"She's been asleep?" Yunho whispers while crouching to your level.
"Yeah, she fell asleep a bit ago. Didn't realize until I asked her a question about the movie we were watching and I didn't get a response." Yunho quietly laughs a bit. "I didn't wanna just leave her here, though."
"I'll bring her in. Thanks for keeping her company."
"You must be exhausted with all the back and forth driving today."
"Fuck yeah, I am. But, as long as my mom's happy and she's happy." Yunho smiles at you, brushing the hair away from your face.
"Alright, well, I'm good off of this show." Yunho turns to the TV seeing it randomly stationed a cooking show.
"Okay Chef Boyardee." Yeosang snorts before gently tapping the couch and standing.
"Gotta do better before we get into the real world, am I right?" He salutes. "I'm off." Yunho bids him farewell before returning his attention to you. You haven't budged, and Yunho can tell how exhausted you are by the way your lips poke out into a pout, soft snores in between each breath.
"Baby. I'm gonna carry you to the bed, okay?" He whispers. You let out a sound that makes Yunho giggle to himself before he scoops you up into his arms and holds you tightly.
"I could've walked." You suddenly blurt out.
"Dunno cutie, you were pretty knocked out." He smiles at you. "It's okay. You had a long day."
"So did you."
"I don't care about me, I care about you." He chuckles, gently laying you down on the bed. "I need to take a shower, I'll be back." You quietly nod and turn to your side, too exhausted to fight for him to stay and be needy. He heads to the shower and lets the hot water cascade down his body, feeling the exhaustion finally catch up to him. Although he tends to think he's pretty selfless, he didn't think he'd be driving from home to catch a performance, dropping his family off then driving back to the apartment all in a day. But, he couldn't care less because he wanted to do this for you, and he wanted to see you happy. There's nothing that satisfies Yunho more than seeing you smile.
He lets out a heavy sigh when he hops out and runs the towel through his wet hair, turning on the hair dryer to dry it off completely. He gets himself ready for bed, walking out in a plain shirt and pajama bottoms to finally slip in next to you. You instantly turn and throw your arm over him the moment you feel the bed dip, Yunho chuckling to himself when he pulls you close.
"Yuyu."
"Mhm sleepyhead?"
"You're graduating soon."
"I am."
"I'm proud of you."
"Thank you. I gotta say I'm proud of me, too." You both laugh a bit.
"What's gonna happen with us?"
"Nothing." He smiles. "I'll still be here. You'll still be here. I'll find myself a good job and hope I'll be able to provide for you more."
"You already give me a lot." You softly say, eyes still closed as you lay on his chest.
"Not enough."
"Hm." You hum. "You're enough."
"I appreciate that, love. But, you really do deserve the world and I'm trying to get you that, okay? Let me." You giggle.
"You're the best."
"Baby?"
"Yes?"
"You see us being together for a long time, right?" He asks, because even though he's confident in your relationship, he still likes to be reassured. Because god, does he truly see his life with you. It hasn't been long but there is not one bone in his body that makes him think otherwise. He wants to build with you, grow with you, be with you all the time. He wants nothing but you, and he's so, so sure of it.
"Of course."
"Even living together in the future and doing all that crazy stuff grownups do?" You laugh.
"Yes."
"Okay." He kisses your forehead.
"Do you want that with me, Yunho?"
"Yeah. I do, Y/N." You sleepily smile against him and hug him tighter, not wanting to let him go.
"I like that." He leaves a soft, feathery kiss against your lips before holding you closer than he ever could, shutting his own eyes to finally get some sleep.

Affair
Zayne x Reader
Part 1
You sat by the window, your gaze fixed on the empty streets. The clock had already ticked past midnight, but Zayne still wasn’t home. It had been like this for months—Zayne burying himself in work, leaving you to feel like a stranger in your own marriage. You and Zayne weren’t in love, not the way married couples should be. It wasn’t a marriage built on deep connection.
Yet, you tried. You tried to love him, to make your life together work. But he had always been distant and cold. Ever since he became the primary physician for his childhood friend, your efforts to reach him felt futile.
It was because of her—the woman Zayne had known since they were kids. You had always suspected there was something more between them, something deeper than just doctor and patient. But every time you brought it up, he would dismiss your concerns.
A sudden creak of the door interrupted your thoughts. You stood up to see Zayne, who had just come home.
"You’re late again," your voice was flat. "Were you with her?"
He dropped his bag on the sofa, avoiding your gaze. "She’s my patient, you know that."
"Just a patient?" Your voice cracked slightly. "Maybe it’s more than that."
His expression grew irritated. "You know it’s nothing."
"Nothing?" Your anger flared, but you still managed to speak calmly. "You’ve been spending more time with her than you’ve ever spent with me."
Zayne’s eyes narrowed. "It’s part of my job. If you can’t handle that, then maybe that’s on you."
You scoffed, pushing past him. "Don’t turn this on me."
Days passed, and things just became a cycle. Zayne came home late, you argued, ignored each other, and repeated the pattern. It was exhausting. Sometimes, you wondered when this would end. You knew divorce was the right solution, but a part of you didn’t want that. As much as you tried to deny it, you were falling for him. That’s why you kept trying to make the marriage work. But as the days passed, you grew more tired of the same gloomy scenario.
You caught your reflection in the mirror. You hadn’t realized how stressed you looked—it seemed like you had forgotten to take care of yourself. ‘When was the last time I treated myself? The last time I did skincare?’ These questions lingered in your mind as you stared at your reflection.
The next day, you decided to attend a small get-together with friends. You rarely agreed to these, but a change of atmosphere was something you badly needed. They didn’t know you were married, and you thought it was better that way.
Different topics were discussed—there were good laughs and some serious conversations. To be honest, you didn’t really enjoy the atmosphere. Watching some of your friends with their husbands only reminded you of your failed marriage. You couldn’t help but think, ‘What if? What if my marriage had worked out? What would it look like? Would it look like this?’
As you sipped your drink, your mind remained clouded with thoughts. The ache in your chest lingered. Needing a distraction, you excused yourself and left the gathering early.
You wandered the nearby streets until you stumbled upon a small bar—the only place still open. At the counter, you absentmindedly checked the menu, unsure of what to order since you weren’t much of a drinker.
"Maybe you could try something strong," a voice interrupted your thoughts.
You looked up to see a man standing next to you, holding a glass of whiskey. His smile was warm and disarming. He was tall, with dark hair, and there was something about his presence that instantly put you at ease.
You offered a small, polite smile. "Maybe I could."
The man chuckled and sat down on the stool next to you. "Caleb," he introduced himself, extending his hand.
After a moment of hesitation, you shook his hand and introduced yourself.
"Nice to meet you." his eyes softened. "First time going to places like this?"
You shrugged. "Not really my usual scene. Just needed a breather."
Caleb nodded. "Rough day?"
You smiled. "More like a rough few years."
Caleb raised an eyebrow. "That sounds heavy. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who doesn’t know you. No judgment."
You sighed, the weight of your failing marriage pressing down on you again. You looked at Caleb, something in his expression telling you he wasn’t just trying to hit on you. There was a genuine kindness in his eyes, a curiosity that felt different from the shallow conversations you were used to.
"It's complicated," you said softly. "Marriage. Life."
"I get that," Caleb said, nodding as if he understood. "Well, I guess there are things that just don’t turn out the way you thought they would."
You laughed bitterly. "You could say that."
As the hours passed, you and Caleb talked, the noise fading into the background. He listened to you intently and didn’t judge the messy emotions you were feeling. He made you laugh, helping you forget, if only for a little while, the growing void in your life.
"I'm glad I came out tonight," Caleb said as the cool night air hit your skin. "I don’t usually go to bars either, but meeting you made it worth it."
You smiled, feeling a spark of something you hadn’t felt in years. "Yeah, me too."
Caleb patted your head. "Take care of yourself. See you whenever."
You nodded. "You too, Caleb. Thanks for tonight."
With a final smile, you turned to leave.
As you walked away, you couldn’t help but think about how different Caleb was from Zayne. Caleb had shown you attention, kindness, and warmth—all the things you had been craving in your marriage but never found. You felt a bit afraid because you had just met Caleb, yet here you were, thinking of these things.
The nights turned into secret rendezvous, and soon, you found yourself tangled in something you couldn’t walk away from. Caleb became your solace, your escape from the coldness that Zayne had wrapped around your marriage.
Zayne had noticed the changes. You no longer wait for him to come home. You don’t prepare food for him anymore. You don’t argue anymore. Instead, you’re quiet and distant now.
"Where were you?" Zayne’s voice was sharp as you walked through the door one evening.
You were caught off guard by his sudden question, but you quickly composed yourself. "I was out with my friends."
Zayne’s suspicion grew. "Friends? You’ve been coming home late every night.”
You sighed. "Don't act like you care.”
He grabbed your wrist. "You're my wife. It’s just fair to know your whereabouts.”
You yanked your arm free and walked away. But you stopped. Without turning around, you quietly asked, "You’ve never cared about me. Why bother?"

Chapter 1: Zayne Prologue
The sun always seems to shine in Linkon, some clouds dotted the blue sky. Holding up a hand to your face to block the beating rays you took in the site of it for a moment before continuing on your way to the Hunter's Association. There was nothing all that special about your walk, there really never was in truth. Although there was a thought, maybe even a hope that you would come across one of their faces in the crowd. But even then, that wouldn't fix much of anything you knew that.
Eventually, your feet carried you to the building housing your work, the Hunter's Association wasn't anything special. But it was, comfortable you had just become a hunter nearly 3 months ago now and you were already settling into this mundane life of what would fit an office worker. But that's not what you are you're a hunter this should be more exciting, shouldn't it?
However, you didn't have long to ponder anything as Captain Jenna tapped on the corner of your glass desk a faint smile on her lips.
"Y/N, do you have a moment?" Jenna's voice carried an air of concern that wasn't uncommon for the woman but this time it seemed like that of a mother watching over her child. Moving yourself to better face her you replied.
"Yeah sure what do you need?"
"Well today I received a call from Akso Hosptial, from one Dr. Zayne himself, he asked me why you haven't been coming to appointments..." Her words ended in a sigh.
Before you could give an excuse she cut you off. "Nope I don't want to hear it, you're going to get your heart checked today I'm dismissing you for the rest of the day."
Your mouth started to open to respond but promptly closed knowing there was no use in arguing this or else you would have bigger things to worry about. "Fine" You kept your wording short before promptly standing to get your things ready.
As you gathered up your stuff a notification popped onto your phone, you paused knowing the ringtone you had set. Funny enough you set it so you know whose message to avoid if they texted you considering that you were about to see the man that this sound had been attached to you swallowed the dread and checked the message.
"Let me know when you get to the hospital I want to make sure to set aside enough to properly examine you"
A weak smile trailed across your lips 'Always the worrier' you let out a huff and then pocketed your phone to finish up packing the things you needed. You realized today might be a little less boring than others it seemed.
Eventually, you made it to the hospital and headed inside, stopping by the reception you checked in with the nurse.
"Ah Y/N? Please come with me Dr. Zayne asked me to bring you to his office once you arrived" She had the obvious hallmarks of a smile beneath her mask and you simply nodded to the woman as she guided you to the door of the chief cardiac surgeon, and also the man who happens to be your primary care physician.
Although not like those words mattered all that much to considering you've been avoiding him for nearly 6 months.
It hurt to see his face.
You thanked the nurse as she walked off. Hesitantly you knocked on the door and were met with a stotic-sounding "Come in"
"Hope I'm not intruding on anything?" Cautiously you opened the door bracing yourself to see a face that plagued your memories with it's haunting beauty.
"Not at all Miss Y/N..please take a seat and we can get started" He gestured to the chair in front of him as you closed the door behind you. Slowly your feet made their way over and you took a seat finally looking at him again.
He looked as beautiful now as he did then.
You adjusted yourself so you weren't just staring at him emptily "Sorry I didn't reply...I was busy getting things in order" Your words had a hollowness to them.
That was one thing you were glad for though, Zayne never pushed you to open up or even be closer to him than just a simple professional relationship. Which made these visits slightly easier all things considered, but even then it feels like someone is stabbing you in the heart when you look at his eyes and take in the reality of the situation you're in at the moment.
"No need, to apologize I assumed as much" You could tell he was lying, there was a hurt to his words that you had learned to read after all this time. Looking away from his face so you didn't have to dwell on painful thoughts for too long before you spoke again.
"No, I really should have said something....I really am sorry" You tried to let the words be, but even then there was something else they were tinged with. An undeniable sorrow, and underlying pain that you couldn't choke down this once. Zayne didn't get to his position for no reason you could tell he felt it the moment the words left your mouth.
He stayed quite a moment before speaking again. "Y/N...I think we should talk" He paused thinking over his words moment "And not as doctor and patient, but as childhood friends"
You hadn't noticed it until he was right in front of you, he had pulled up a chair to be beside you. Looking up at him your lip quivered.
No, he can't know, he can't make you break down like this, this isn't his to bear!
Your heart started to race as you realized he was rather close, that probably wasn't good for your porotcore syndrome but why did you care? Gently he places a hand on your shoulder giving it a reassuring squeeze.
It was true that you knew him as a child but that was before the memories started to truly connect. Before you knew what you had been experiencing. All the timelines and memories they were all you, you had done all these things and they had all done so much for you and yet you left them with the tragedy of your death or a scarce you could never even begin to repay.
Zayne was quiet, he could tell you were in your own head. Giving your shoulder another gentle squeeze before he reluctantly let go.
"I'm sorry....for everything" Was all you could manage to say to him, slowly you looked back at him. As expected he just gave you a confused look. Letting out a sigh you shook your head, as you simply accepted the man would have no clue what you meant. And maybe that would be okay in the moment. Even if deep down you wanted more, you wanted to take him into your arms and hug him tight. You wanted to cuddle and watch movies together.
"What are you apologizing for?" Was the next thing he asked, you then realized you were woefully unprepared for when one of them asked what it was you were sorry for. Scrambling for something to say you spoke without thinking.
"For being so distant as your friend! I-I'm sorry for everything In the sense that we've lost touch!" You managed to pull the worse excuse out of your ass. The one excuse that would make you face one of the people you've been avoiding head-on this entire time.
Zayne looked at you again his stoic expression held a subtle surprise "Well then, would you like me to drive you home in that case so we can talk?" He offered it.
You felt like you had no real choice in this, if you rejected you would look like a jerk, and considering growing distant is what you were apparently trying to avoid, even if it was just a lie to cover your true intentions. You couldn't exactly reject this.
"Sure that sounds great" You nodded a few times giving a weak smile.
Zayne nodded to you, a very subtle smile curving his lips as he then begun his examine on you.
And then suddenly in the first time in years now.
You felt that pain, that guilt subside for a moment.

“Dr. James, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?”
You swiveled around in your chair. Molly stood at the door, holding an armful of supplies to replenish the cabinet to your right. “I’m not sure,” you replied. “Why?”
“I was hoping we’d be closed,” she said, unloading the bandages into the cabinet. “My boyfriend and I are supposed to visit his parents down in Marietta.”
“You can have it off either way,” you replied and Molly grinned.
“So you call the shots now?” Bob stood in the doorway of your office, wearing a sweater with the sleeves rolled up, a pair of khakis and brown dress shoes.
You rolled your eyes. “Give the girl the day off, Floyd.”
“We’re closed on Thanksgiving, Molly,” he said and she stood up, smiling.
“Thank you!” She tossed her arms around Bob as he stood solid like a statue in the doorframe, before scampering down the hallway.
You leaned back in your chair with a smirk. “Softie.”
“What are your plans for Thanksgiving?”
“Don’t have any,” you replied. “Unless you’re inviting me over.”
Bob looked startled. “I, uh—”
You laughed but it was dry. “Don’t worry, Floyd, I’m not inviting myself over. I have more tact than that. You stood up, smoothing your short skirt. “I won’t impose. Sure I’ll be able to find something to do.”
Bob’s gaze hardened. “I’m sure Bradshaw would have you over.”
“Bradley?” You shook your head. “I’m sure he has plans.”
Bob nodded. “Bradshaw family Thanksgiving is legendary. I’ve been a few times. His parents do a catered dinner.”
“Maybe I’ll ask him.”
Bob lingered. There was something about the way he wasn’t moving, as if words were stuck in his throat, thick like gravy on a biscuit.
You cocked your head to one side. “Something else I can help you with?”
His blue eyes turned to you. “No.” He pivoted on one heel, heading down the hallway, the soft clack of his dress shoes on the wood floor fading into the distance. You frowned before picking up the phone and pressing Bradley’s contact.
“Hey, it’s me,” you said into the speaker. “Listen, about Thanksgiving.”
***
“Mothers don’t like me,” you whispered as you and Bradley made your way up the steps toward the stone mansion on the end of the road. “Just a warning.”
Bradley chuckled. “I doubt that, Doc. What’s not to like?”
You shrugged. “I say too much or I say too little. And when I do talk it’s about medicine. I’m too competitive. I can’t cook. I curse. I wear too short of skirts.” You adjusted your skirt over the thin tights and cursed yourself for wearing a pair of stilettos. The Bradshaws were going to think you were a prostitute.
“My mother likes no one and pretends to like everyone,” Bradley replied. “Besides, it’s a party, Doc. Not some intimate dinner. You’ll be able to blend in with the crowd, I promise.”
“If you leave me alone for more than five minutes I’m going to get blackout drunk,” you warned.
Bradley laughed, reaching out and ringing the doorbell. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” The large wood door swung open. “Mother,” he said.
“Bradley, dear.” She was small, so thin beneath her sweater set, and Bradley had to stoop down to kiss her on the cheek. She held her arms out to you. “And you must be Olivia.”
“Olive,” Bradley corrected. “Dr. James.”
“Ooh, doctor?” His mother raised her plucked eyebrows.
You smiled. “Olive is fine. Very nice to meet you, Mrs. Bradshaw.”
“Carole,” she replied. “Come in.”
The Bradshaws had more money than half of Georgia from the looks of it. A soaring two-story foyer with a curved staircase that crawled up one wall, checkered black and white tile floors in the entryway, an enormous wooden paneled library to your left. The house was warm and smelled like Baccarat Rouge and echoed with voices and Southern accents. You raised your eyebrows at Bradley. “You’re Southern royalty, aren’t you?”
He blushed, hard. “No.”
“Come on.” You grabbed his arm. “Spill.”
“My father was the governor,” he confessed and your eyes went wide, like saucers. “There he is.” Bradley tipped his head toward the seven-foot tall fireplace against one wall where a group of men were laughing. You spotted him immediately. Tall, muscular, mustache that rivaled Tom Selleck’s. He was handsome as hell. A part of you did the mental math and realized that Bradley would age well.
Very well.
“Come on,” Bradley said, moving toward the center of the room. “I need a drink.”
Against one wall, there was a makeshift bar. “Wine, please,” you said.
“What type of wine?” the bartender asked. “We have Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot from the Loire—”
You cut him off with a thick sob. “Oh my God. Real wine.”
Bradley practically snorted. “Yes, Olive, outside of Willow there actually does exist wine where the label doesn’t just say white box or red.”
You shook your head with elation. “Sancerre, please.”
“And you, sir?”
“Manhattan, no rocks.”
You leaned against the bar and surveyed the room. It was tastefully decorated. Now you knew why Bradley’s house was so well done. “You could have warned me,” you whispered.
“And said what?”
“I don’t know, that you’re Mr. Georgia?”
Bradley laughed, a throaty chuckle, one hand finding the small of your back, leading you deeper into the room. Clumps of well dressed people stood in packs scattered throughout the large expanse of the living room. “Sometimes I forget that you don’t know things, Olive. Everyone in Willow knows everything about each other. It’s hard to remember that you’re starting from a blank slate.”
“What else am I missing?” you asked.
“Well, that’s my brother, Jordan.” Bradley pointed to a tall, dark and handsome man holding hands with a slim brunette. “And his wife Jodi. And their son James is somewhere. Probably praying pranks on the dog.” You grinned. “If you go upstairs and turn left and open the fourth door on the right you’ll see an embarrassing amount of trophies from little league.”
“I know where I’m sneaking off to after dinner,” you teased.
“I’ll meet you up there.” You swatted Bradley’s arm with your free hand and he laughed. A shadow appeared in front of the two of you.
“Son.”
“Dad.” Bradley was a full inch shorter than his father, and that was a feat. “This is Dr. Olive James.”
“Just Olive is fine,” you said, holding out a hand. “Very nice to meet you, sir.”
He grinned, shaking your hand tightly. His grip was a vice. “Nick Bradshaw. Friends call me Goose.”
“Goose?”
“Don’t ask,” Bradley whispered.
“Best shot in the state,” Nick said, dropping your hand. “You a hunter, Doctor?”
“Does looking for deals in Soho count?” The joke fell flat on Nick, who had a stony look in his eye. “Sorry, no. Never been.”
“You’ll have to join us sometime,” he said. “Bradley, invite her to the lake house. We’re going next week.”
“You don’t have to,” Bradley whispered.
You smiled. “That’s very nice, thank you.”
Goose tipped his head. “My son here really under sold how pretty you were. In a town like Willow I’m sure you’re turning heads.”
You blushed and Bradley shook his head. “Dad, come on. Let her at least finish her drink before you turn on the charm.”
Goose grinned. “Can’t help it, son.”
“It’s flattering,” you replied. “But I only came to Willow a few months ago. Still adjusting.”
“What’s there to adjust to?” A voice to your right entered and you turned, Bradley’s brother Jordan joining the circle. His eyes leered over you. “Nothing in Willow but two sticks to rub together.”
“Olive,” Bradley said, his voice icing over. “This is my brother Jordan. Jordan, this is Dr. Olive James.”
“Doctor?” Jordan raised his thick eyebrows. “How come there were never any docs like you when I have to go to my checkups?”
“OK, we’re leaving,” Bradley said, putting one hand on your back and steering you toward the patio doors at the back of the room. The two of you spilled out onto the paved patio that overlooked a manicured garden not unlike Versailles. “Sorry about him, he’s a dick.”
You laughed. “That’s OK. I understand.”
“Do you have siblings?”
“No.” You paused. “But my fiancé did.”
“Fiancé?” Bradley went pale.
“Sorry, ex-fiance,” you clarified.
“You’ve never mentioned.”
“He cheated and I left. Not much to say,” you replied.
“I’m sorry.” Bradley paused. “Is that why you left New York?”
You nodded. “We worked together.”
“Oh.” He was quiet for a moment. Then, “Sounds like a real dick.”
You laughed, the sound chiming out into the quiet evening. “Not wrong.”
“Did you love him?” he asked.
You frowned. “Yes. But I don’t know if I was ever in love with him. Not the way that I should have been. I was just too caught up in everything to realize it.”
Bradley stepped closer, pressing one hand to your cheek. “I like you, Olive. A lot. And I know you said you weren’t looking to start anything, but—”
“I like you, too, Bradley,” you interrupted, the heat of his hand cupping your skin warming you from the outside in.
He smiled, bending down, pressing his lips to yours softly. You closed your eyes, letting Bradley flood your senses.
When the two of you broke apart, you grinned, sliding one hand up into his curls, pulling him back down, sealing your lips over his. Bradley’s large hands wound around your waist, tugging you in close, pressing your body to his.
“Let’s blow off dinner,” he whispered.
“But it’s Thanksgiving,” you replied. “Won’t your family care if we ditch them?”
“I don’t care,” Bradley murmured. “I want you all to myself.”
“Bradshaw,” you said quietly, “are you hitting on me?”
“You bet your sweet ass I am.”
“OK, let’s go.”
Back at Bradley’s house, you slipped off your heels as Bradley poured two glasses of wine. You heard him mutter and curse under his breath.
“Everything OK?” you called out.
“Yeah, fine,” he shouted back. “Make yourself comfortable.”
You wandered down the hallway to Bradley’s bedroom, edging open the door. It was familiar, from the night after the Halloween party. The room was blanketed in darkness and you strolled over to the window, glass of wine in one hand, spreading the curtains, letting the moonlight flood in.
Across the yard, Bob stood at his window, illuminated lightly and golden from a lamp behind him. You raised your hand in a wave and so did he. Opening the window, you perched on the sill. “Hey.”
Bob opened his window, leaning his head out to his shoulders. “Hi.”
You frowned. “This was your big Thanksgiving plan? Standing at the window looking forlorn?”
He shook his head. “I had dinner with my father, but I left early. He was tired.”
“Oh.” You paused. “How, um, how is he doing?”
“Not too well,” Bob replied softly.
“I’m sorry to hear that. He’s very sweet.”
Bob looked up. “Weren’t you at the Bradshaw’s party?” he asked.
“Yeah, we were, but.” You trailed off, taking a sip of wine to fill the silence.
Bob’s eyes went wide with realization. “Oh.”
“I’m sorry,” you said but you weren’t sure why. It just felt like the right thing to say.
“Why are you sorry?” he asked quietly.
“I don’t know.” In the distance, you heard footsteps. “I should go.”
Bob nodded. “Goodnight, Olive.”
“Happy Thanksgiving,” you replied softly, shifting off of the window sill, feet landing on the floor with a soft thump. You closed the window gently, and Bob mirrored your actions across the narrow garden.
“Doc?” Bradley’s voice carried through the open door. You turned and smiled.
“Hi,” you whispered.
He stepped in closer, winding one arm around your waist. “So. Where did we leave off?”
“I think somewhere around here,” you replied, leaning forward, pressing your lips to his. Bradley’s other arm found the back of your head, supporting you as he tipped you backward in a kiss, one of your legs wrapping around his waist instinctively, your fingertips gripping his biceps.
In the heat of it all, you forgot to pull the curtains shut.

Can you please write for Maya from station 19 and reader? Maya finds out reader hasn't been taking the best care of herself she hasn't been to a doctor in years and Maya won't stand for anything to happen to her girl.
Doctor’s appointment
Summary: An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Pairing: Maya Bishop x female!reader
Warnings: none
Word count: 644
a/n: is it an american thing to go to the doctors so often?
masterlists | guidelines
Maya is scrolling through her phone, while Y/N is sitting next to her, reading a book. It’s already late and they’re getting ready to go to bed, but they like to have some quiet time before going to sleep.
“I have an appointment with my primary physician next month.” Maya mumbles, double checking her calendar to see she remembers it correctly.
“Do you want me to come with you?”
“Sure,” Maya puts her phone down, “if you aren’t working. When’s your next appointment?” Y/N shrugs. “When did you have your last one?”
Marking the page she is in with a bookmark, she puts the book away and bites the inside of her cheek. “I’m not sure.” She mumbles, keeping her gaze away from Maya. She knows she hasn’t gone to the doctor as often as she ideally should, but it has never been her priority.
“Give me an estimate.” Maya is frowning. She doesn’t like to hear things like this.
“I don’t know,” she sighs, “like, multiple years ago.”
“That’s not good. You know that, right?”
She turns to look at Maya with a roll of her eyes. “I know that it’s not the best thing to do, but I’m healthy, I haven’t had any need to go to the doctor.”
“But you don’t know you’re healthy if you haven’t been to the doctor.”
“My body would tell me.”
“Not always.” Her brows are scrunched as she tries to get this through to Y/N. She’s worried there might be something invisible that’ll backfire on her because she hasn’t visited the doctor in a long time. “There could be something you aren’t feeling.”
Turning off the light on her side of the bed, Y/N burrows herself under the covers. “I’m sure there isn’t.”
“I’m serious, Y/N.” Maya moves the covers away, wanting to have this conversation now.
Although, she is usually the calm one of the two, Maya is starting to feel extremely worried, the thoughts swarming in her head. She doesn’t understand why Y/N is being so nonchalant about the whole situation.
“Will you make an appointment?”
“I’ll make one in the morning.” Whining, Y/N tries to grab the cover and pull it back over her.
Maya sits up straighter, pulling the cover further away, which makes Y/N sit up and glare at her. “Make an appointment now, or I’ll make one for you.” They stare at each other, Maya’s brows raised as she waits for Y/N to move. She isn’t one to back down, and knowing this, Y/N grabs her phone with a groan.
“I’ll make an appointment.” She mumbles. Maya opens her mouth, but Y/N lifts up her hand to silence her, “the earliest appointment that’s available, yes, I know.”
Maya smiles, laying back down once Y/N sets the phone down. “Thank you.” She whispers, cuddling Y/N from behind.
“Yeah, yeah.” Y/N presses herself against Maya’s front, pulling the cover so only the upper half of her head is visible.
Their breathing evens out as they lay there next to each other, eyes closed, as close as possible. Maya’s hand is gently caressing Y/N’s stomach and the air coming out of her nose tickles the back of her neck. She opens her eyes, though she doesn’t see much. “You know I just want to make sure you’re okay because I love you? And I don’t want anything bad happening to you.” She whispers, not wanting to wake Y/N up if she has already fallen asleep.
“I know. I love you too.” Her voice is laced with tiredness.
Staying quiet for a while, Maya bites the inside of her cheek. “When’s the last time you went to the dentist?”
“I don’t know,” Y/N sighs, “maybe three or four years ago.”
Maya sits up again. “Y/N!”

Ada and Ian Headcanons (Rhythm Doctor)
this got Long As Hell i'm sorry lmao. headcanons under the cut!!
Ada:
- We know that Ian is a radiologist, but I think Ada is probably a general practitioner/primary care physician! If she's canonically a cardiologist (bc heart stuff) then that's my bad lmao. But based on what we see in the game, she doesn't really seem to specialize in anything. She instead seems to have a wide range of medical knowledge and we see her treating a variety of different illnesses/injuries, including Mr. Stevenson's broken leg and Lucky's torn rotator cuff. We know that she's been having to do pretty much everything around the hospital bc they're so understaffed, and primary care physicians usually have fairly extensive medical knowledge covering multiple fields, which I think is what allows her to do that.
- One of my biggest hcs about Ada is that she has a very strained relationship with her parents, and that her parents are also both doctors, though I imagine they're close to retirement by now. However, unlike Ada, they both specialize in highly specific fields like brain surgery or something (I actually do imagine her dad to be a neurosurgeon lmao), and because they're both so successful they have incredibly high expectations of her. They look down on her for choosing to be a GP/primary care physician because they think of that work as somehow less important/less worth her time. They're the kind of people who absolutely have a superiority complex about being doctors and ~saving lives~. Also definitely not the kind of people who should have had kids. They're distant at best and extremely judgmental and condescending at worst.
- Ada has one younger sister who's six years younger. Because their parents were always so busy with their careers, Ada basically grew up taking care of her sister, which definitely contributed to her mentality of feeling responsible for everyone all the time. Her sister moved out of their parents' house as soon as possible and is currently attending college somewhere far away, but she and Ada still keep in touch. Ada being an eldest daughter just makes too much sense to me lmao
- I like to think that Ada is an extremely affectionate person by nature. But because of growing up with emotionally distant parents, she doesn't ever really expect for that affection to be returned, especially from Ian who's not very outwardly affectionate most of the time. So when he does go out of his way to express affection it means a lot to her :)
- Because of the way her parents are, I think she kind of has an unconscious mentality of "no one is ever going to love me as much as I love them." She also struggles with people-pleasing tendencies (taking on more work than she can handle, having difficulty saying no to people) and self-esteem issues. So whenever someone goes out of their way to show her love, it kind of catches her off guard lol
- Ada's primary love languages are physical touch and words of affirmation (I'll explain this more below lol). She's REALLY big on physical touch—Ian generally does not like physical touch and one of the only people he tolerates/enjoys it from is Ada. Though I definitely think acts of service is one of her love languages too, as seen in Middlesea College Life. I simply think that she has so many love languages because she's FULL of love
- I imagine Ada as someone who feels her emotions very strongly, and who is generally just a highly emotional and empathetic person. Her empathy makes her good at connecting with the patients, but it also means that she feels everything so much all the time and it can be overwhelming for her sometimes. She’s undoubtedly very intelligent, but I think she’s still very much a heart over head type of person. She also cries pretty easily, though she has to try her best to keep it under wraps at work. The list of movies that make her cry is extensive, which Ian lovingly teases her for.
- Ada is extremely nearsighted and can't see much at all without her glasses. Because of this one of her favorite jokes is saying “I’ve seen enough” and taking her glasses off lmao
- Courtesy of @nightmun: Ada earnestly loves dad jokes, puns, and anything similar. Ian gets her a joke book as a gift once and regrets it immediately.
Ada, incredibly excited: IAN WHAT DOES A LEMON SAY WHEN IT PICKS UP THE PHONE
Ian: …what?
Ada: YELLOW!! *WHEEZE*
Ian: <:)
(this is the fifth one she’s told him today)
Ian:
- Ian’s mother is a single mom and his dad left when he was ten, hence why Ian is currently the only one taking care of her. Ian was also an only child. I imagine he and his mom are very close since it’s just been the two of them for so long, so her illness has really been taking a toll on him.
- Ian is bilingual and speaks Mandarin! I don’t think he has a canon ethnicity in-game (though please correct me if I’m wrong), but I’ve been thinking of him as Chinese Canadian, in line with @pokeblog123’s headcanon that Middlesea is in Canada. I imagine he and his mom speak Mandarin at home sometimes.
- I think Ian probably did robotics and/or coding as hobbies in high school and college! We know that he’s insanely tech-savvy, and he seems to have quite a talent for programming. In that same vein, another one of Ian's hobbies is buying old/vintage video game consoles from garage sales, on eBay, etc. and taking them apart to see how they work, sometimes also restoring them if he can.
- I know this is a pretty popular hc already but I think Ian is autistic/generally neurodivergent lol. I do try to write him with this in mind
- Related to that, Ian struggles with social cues to a certain degree, and subsequently has more trouble connecting with the patients than Ada. His little character card says he’s “better with computers than people” and I think this is probably because people are just difficult for him to read. Computers are much simpler; they’re predictable and generally do what they’re programmed to do. People are a lot more complicated. I do think he’s learned to read Ada fairly well simply because he’s known her for so long
- Ian's primary love language is acts of service/gift-giving. He struggles with physical touch and with verbalizing his feelings so he shows his love by doing things for people instead (which was part of the inspiration for my fic "Helping Hand"). If he goes out of his way to do something for you, that’s how you know he really cares. He's an actions over words type of guy :)
- Ian can be very blunt and straightforward, as we see in the game, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t care. We know from game dialogue that he regularly encourages Ada to take breaks and is generally concerned for her wellbeing, and we can also infer that he worries a great deal about his mother. He definitely cares, he just has different ways of showing it.
- Ian normally doesn’t cry very easily and he also doesn’t like to cry in front of other people, but my hc for why he cried at the Stevensons’ reunion is because it reminded him of his own sick mother, who’s been alone ever since his dad left. He’s usually not one to cry in public but that just got to him. I like to think that Ada checked up on him afterwards.
(ACT 5 SPOILERS)
- Although he doesn't really show it, I think Ian probably feels a certain amount of guilt for everything that's happened with Connectifia Abortus, especially now that it's been revealed that the virus originated from the system he created. He knows that the rhythm defibrillator system could put the patients in danger if the virus keeps getting worse, and he's been working day and night to try to fix it. Of course, Edega's demand for a "miracle cure" at the expense of caution and safety certainly isn't helping matters. Given that Ada also needs treatment on occasion, one of Ian's biggest fears is that Ada will get hurt because of the virus (and, he thinks, because of him).
BOFA THEM:
- I think Ada was Ian's first, and possibly only, good friend at college. I imagine they met through their shared classes and Ada was one of the only people who made a point to talk to him. After that she sort of just stuck around, much to Ian’s initial surprise. He had always struggled with making friends and he was hesitant to open up to her at first, but her persistence and genuine sincerity eventually won him over. Now they’re best friends :)
- I've seen other people say that they were probably roommates at some point in college/med school and I definitely think so too. I'm sure they pulled a lot of all-nighters together lol
- Once Ada and Ian became close friends, I like to imagine that she also got to know Ian's mother. She's always gotten along with her very well, and because her own parents were so distant, Ada came to think of her as somewhat of a parental figure. When Ian's mom first got sick and started requiring intensive care, Ada insisted on helping out with anything they needed.
- What I was referencing above about Ada and physical affection: I think Ada might be somewhat touch-starved because of my headcanon that her parents aren't very affectionate people. She craves physical touch and words of affirmation because she never got much of that from her parents. Once Ian figures this out, he tries his best to do those things for her even though it doesn't come as naturally to him (as in like, he’s normally not one to initiate hugs but he’ll give Ada a hug if he can tell that she needs it).
- Ian’s pragmatism balances out Ada’s bleeding-heart altruism, and vice versa. I think over years of friendship they’ve learned to appreciate the other’s perspective and find a middle ground, though of course that’s not always possible in high-stress medical situations.
- Ada doesn’t really understand anything about the online games that Ian plays, but she probably uses gamer lingo incorrectly on purpose just to annoy him lmao
- Unrelated to anything but I think one of their favorite pastimes is hate-watching Grey's Anatomy together and making fun of all the medical inaccuracies (I’ve never watched Grey’s Anatomy but I’ve heard there are many). Despite this they’re both low-key invested but neither of them wants to admit it lol
Anyway I love them. In my mind they are besties who get married for tax benefits. Thank you for your time if you read this far lmao

Personal mental health ramble undercut
I think I might have BPD because I have like every symptom listed in the diagnostic criteria and kinda have to some extent since I was 14. And it's getting to the point where the extreme mood swings make it really hard to go to school and do research and just generally live my life. I first heard of it a year and a half ago and kinda ignored how it felt similar because I was already in therapy for anxiety and depression but I did CBT for over a year and it didn't really help much.
I've read about DBT and have since tried a couple of the journaling exercises. They kinda helped and I'm interested in going back to therapy and trying that method, regardless of what my official diagnosis ends up being just because I think it would work better for me. I'm just not sure how honest I should be when looking for potential therapists or if I should bring it up with my primary care physician.
Like on one hand, I know that it's heavily stigmatized and the mental health system is generally not great to people with cluster b disorders so bringing that up might potentially make it harder for me to get treatment. But I'm also worried about not addressing the symptoms that are causing me to look into it in the first place (self destructive behavior, suicidal ideation, dissociation, and unstable relationships). I didn't trust my former therapist enough to talk about the first two (which ended up being the right move I guess, because when I did talk about it she tried to push Christianity on me).
I'm just kinda scared because I got in a really bad mental health episode last semester and some of the semester before and even though I've been mostly doing better I still feel the symptoms sinking into my everyday life. I basically lost half a week of research time to dissociation alone and keep having flashbacks to how I felt back then, which hurt a lot despite the fact I don't even remember much of the last year.
I want to get better - I don't want to keep feeling this way and I don't want to have to keep hiding it from people close to me out of fear of hurting them. I already feel bad that my loved ones have already had to calm me down from anxiety attacks and I know it hurts them when I don't take care of myself, so if nothing else I want to get better for them.

@lenievi mentioned this morning their headcanon about McCoy's ex being Vulcan and just... I love it. I have been thinking about it all day
My version is a bit different to theirs I think tho
Episode where they have to go to some vacay planet for a plot reason
McCoy is bitching to Jim w Spock in the background cos his ex wife Sarie is there
Jim is being normal about it, Spock is awkward
Jim asks about McCoy's kid, if she's with her mum
McCoy doesn't really know
Spock is like, you have a kid?
McCoy makes an offhand joke about his kid needing special medical attention like Spock does
Spock assumes the kid is immunocompromised and McCoy is just taking a chance to have a go at him
They meet Sarie during the course of the episode
She is vulcan
Jim is normal, he knows all this
Spock is not normal about it
S'ari pronounces her name differently when she introduces herself to spock
She and McCoy are barely civil, but not cruel
McCoy's daughter is not there, but her primary physician is
McCoy makes a comment to Jim about not reading into why his daughters doctor is travelling with his ex
Implication is that S'ari fancies doctors
Spock is present and says something nice about mccoy
McCoy admits the positive that as an expert on half Vulcans it will be good to pass some stuff he's learned onto Jo'hanna's doctor
Spock realises McCoy's daughter is half vulcan
Spock and Jim have a veiled convo about Spock cooperating with McCoys medical interventions more
It is implied Spock probably will not co-operate, although he will be less insulted by McCoy's constant experiments
McCoy is very pleased when the plot is over and they leave the planet
Altho he does have one pleasant scene with S'ari as she gives him some pictures and he reveals what breakthroughs in comfort care he's managed with half vulcans
Mainly a painkiller that doesn't make them nauseas, S'ari is so pleased

Pride through the years
Book: Open Heart
Characters: F!MC Casey Valentine
Category: Fluff
Rating: PG
Warnings: mentions of homophobia
Word count: 901
Summary: A look through some of the key Pride Parades that Casey has been to.
Disclaimer: non OC characters belong to Pixelberry
Authors note: so this will be a similar format to my through the windows fic but Casey and Pride. This another submission for CWFC Pride Bingo Card. Pride Parade.
🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
June 2011.
Casey had been at NYU for a year now. She loved dorm life and had made good friends. This was her first major exposure to the lgbtqi+ community. She knew people who identified as such existed, she knew that those who identified suffered both systemic and non systemic abuse. To see the extent was an eye opener and not long before pride month she saw first hand some of the non systemic abuse. Her and a few friends were out for lunch, enjoying a gorgeous day in New York when her companions, who were only holding hands, were verbally abused and threatened. This experience was an eye opener for Casey and right then and there she decided she needed to be the change she wanted to see. A few weeks later there was pride and there was a March. It felt empowering attending, being with people who were open about who they were and who they loved and the fight that everyone had in them. Casey had only just decided that she was going to pursue medicine but she wanted to be the doctor that anyone who identified as lgbtqi would feel comfortable seeing.
June 2015.
It was the pride between undergrad and medical school and around campus there was an air of excitement. There had been a long time push for marriage equality and even though it was allowed in 36 states, all eyes were on SCOTUS to recognize it across all states. June 26th was a massive celebration but they knew there was a lot of work to do. She knew of the systemic abuse that still occurred and she was entering a health system that showed not the best outcomes for those who were lgbtqi+.
June 2019.
Casey was now a resident. She still considered herself an ally but work was busy, now that she was a junior fellow on the world famous Diagnostic team. She still attended events and she went with Jackie for most of them. Jackie had to hide it for most of her life, due to her parents and when she was away from home was still guarded about her sexuality due to her upbringing. Children were not on Casey’s radar yet, if ever but hearing Jackie’s experience made her determined to be the parent who would be understanding of her own child’s sexual orientation.
June 2022.
Casey was now an Attending and after the news broke that Roe was going to be repealed she was awed by Caroline’s proactivity. Casey knew that if women’s rights in health care were attacked, those who identified as lgbtqi were definitely going to be in the firing line. Caroline instigated a whole suite of measures and education aimed at the public and physicians so we knew where we stood legally, putting out education programs at community clinics in schools around women’s and sexual health and consent. Edenbrook fast became seen as an ally and Casey could not be any more proud of the organization she was working for.
June 2026.
There was more change at Edenbrook again but again there was much excitement. Caroline had not long announced her retirement from being the CEO of Edenbrook Hospital and her parting gift was a Medical centre that despite being apart of the hospital was going to be set in one of the more diverse areas of Boston both socially and economically and the primary focus was women’s health and the lgbtqi+ community. Casey was excited and hoped that at a local level in time there would be better health outcomes.
June 2034
Pride had become a family affair for the Ramsey’s. There was always plenty happening at the hospital but they always made an effort to go to a parade together. Hudson was nearly 9 and Alexis 5. Even though they were young both Ethan and Casey agreed it was good to educate them in an age appropriate way that the love that those who identified are people too, who love and are a part of society. This pride was bittersweet. Hudson enjoyed it but he was starting to not like being seen with his parents. Ethan and Casey did not want Hudson attending by himself just yet but they did not want one child missing out either. Ethan and Casey made the decision to continue coming to pride but leave the kids with family.
June 2047
Pride was special in more ways than one this year. It was first Pride for Alexis after coming out as bi-sexual and the first pride where Casey and Ethan were a parent to someone in that community. They were very proud of Alexis regardless, graduating top of her class and heading to UPenn but they were relieved when Alexis came out. She was less stressed and seemed to be really happy that she was a true version of herself.
June 2048
This was Alexis’s first pride out of home. She was loving college and had joined the lgbtqi club on campus. It was here that she was introduced to Polyamory and she enjoyed the freedom it allowed to explore her sexuality. Ethan and Casey were still very proud of her. Ethan and Casey were still very active at work and they had been noticing, at the local level any way even more and more better outcomes for those who identified as lgbtqi and both were really happy about that.

if you’re hearing THIS HELL by RINA SAWAYAMA playing, you have to know ISADORA KIMANI-LIN (SHE / HER; CIS WOMAN) is near by! the FORTY-ONE year old PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN ( FAMILY PRACTITIONER ) has been in denver for, like, ELEVEN YEARS. they’re known to be quite STOIC, but being STEADFAST seems to balance that out. or maybe it’s the fact that they resemble CONSTANCE WU. personally, i’d love to know more about them seeing as how they’ve got those WORN-OUT MEDICAL BOOKS LINING THE SHELVES, SIGNED AND FRAMED PLAYBILLS DECORATING THE WALLS, THE THRILL OF DECORATING FOR EACH HOLIDAY vibes. and maybe i’ll get my chance if i hang out around the CHERRY CREEK DISTRICT long enough!
STATS:
full name : isadora kimani - lin nickname(s) : dory ( by solana only ), iz, dora birthplace : new york city, new york date of birth : 02 / 02 / 1982 parentage : tbd. sibling(s) : tbd. relationship status : married spouse : solana kimani - lin gender identity : cis woman ( she / her ) sexual orientation : lesbian faceclaim : constance wu
BACKGROUND:
isadora lin was born the first child of two dreamers. her mother an aspiring singer, her father an aspiring filmmaker. together, they supported each other and all they wanted out of life.
living in new york city seemed like a no-brainer for people with such big dreams, so it's no surprise that's where this little family ended up
there were some jobs here and there for both, and they each felt a rush every time they had an opportunity pop up
these opportunities would often pull them away from their small family unit. it was hard for the other to stay with their baby / toddler while the other was off chasing their dream
it soon became a game of hot potato. one parent gone for a few months, the other taking off as soon as the first returns home. this game continues until isadora is five, when the couple finally called it quits.
they were never married, so legally the split was easier. and, surprisingly, the custody problem was easy as well. they lived in the same city and would allow her to go back and forth as she pleased ( as long as it were possible ).
isadora having the option to CHOOSE growing up was helpful with her confidence. knowing her choices were heard and mattered.
with such artistic parents, it's almost expected for her to start attending theatre camps at the age of six.
her parents had taken her for a couple of commercial auditions from the ages of eight to ten, but overall, isadora found herself most comfortable on the stage.
some people loved the stage because it gave them the chance to be somebody else, but isadora loved it because it gave her the chance to simply BE SOMEBODY. somebody that people recognized, perceived, and listened to.
she was confident, there was no doubt about it. you had to be to do live performances. if anything, each performance made her confidence grow more and more.
she'd auditioned for each and every school play in high school, but everything changes for her when she's cast as helena in a midsummer night's dream her senior year of high school
in typical high school rivalry, it's a bit of shock when another school in the district is also doing a midsummer night's dream
during an impromptu meeting between the casts is when isadora meets SOLANA KIMANI for the first time. they're meant to be enemies ( and if you asked isadora, they were ), but is it really isadora's fault that she can't stop glancing over at her?
they're definitely enemies, but they're also definitely meeting up after school to rehearse their lines together. isadora can't help but be entranced by solana's... well, everything.
they're most definitely enemies, but isadora can't help the butterflies she feels when solana shows up to her opening night with flowers to support her ( ditching her own opening night in the process )
it's all very innocent after that. a few dates and a few kisses, because they're both off to different colleges after that. they knew what they were getting themselves into-- a relationship right before college was never meant to last. they were enjoying each other's company while they could, and after that, they're just a fond high school memory
when your parents are such artistic types, they're only a tad bit heartbroken when you tell them you DON'T want to be a professional actor and would rather be a doctor
isadora is twenty-nine when she finally finishes her residency. she decides to take one more year in new york for a fellowship program.
when she's thirty, she realizes new york is too fast paced for her and she needs something a bit slower
denver seems nice, and horizon family health is looking for a family practitioner
as she's adjusting to the new surroundings, isadora can't help but just feel LONELY. she's left everyone she knows behind in new york, so can you blame her for turning to online dating?
isadora has to think she's dreaming, because is that SOLANA KIMANI on her screen?
she tries to act cool, but how do you act cool when the universe is handing you the one who got away on a silver platter?
it only takes two months for solana to propose and for isadora to say yes. when you know, you just know.
they're married a year before solana starts bringing up FOSTERING and ADOPTING. it wasn't something isadora had really been thinking, but she would do anything to make solana happy. she didn't hate the idea, either.
it's been ten years since they started fostering, and although it has been a struggle, isadora wouldn't change a thing
