i’m so bummed about the disk horse around horror.

sometimes yeah it’s uncomfortable but often that is the whole point. it’s okay to not like it in the same way second-hand embarrassment in a comedy makes someone cringe too hard to enjoy the joke. that’s perfectly fine! but what good would hating the office & calling all the fans idiots accomplish, exactly? it’s the same when someone claims gore or sex or dark themes in horror are indicative of some underlying sinister intent on the creator’s part & that only depraved people enjoy creating or engaging with that stuff. like whether or not you can personally tolerate the content should never infringe on someone’s right to catharsis without facing judgment for it. art is sometimes an exaggeration or stretched to an extreme to make a point. but apparently some people are so up their own ass they don’t even comprehend that not all gore is meaningless & the gratuity is intentional to solidify the themes in a provocative way not only to shock but to expand & deepen the message. of course there are exceptions but i’m sorry if you watched hereditary or carrie or penny dreadful or saw & walked away thinking, “gee whiz all that blood & gore was extreme! did they really need all that to send their message?” you so thoroughly missed the point that you should probably talk candidly with a horror-fan about what it means to them & try to learn or just remove yourself from horror-related spaces & shut up forever.

So well Nosferatu (actual name count Orlok) is from a 1922 horror film Nosferatu (no way).

He's a scary mf who drinks blood and spreads the plague via his countless rats. The fandom (yes, the fandom of a 101 year old movie) somehow found a way to empathize with him. I just think he's neat.

He also got a buddy Knock who becomes batshit (ratshit?) unhinged every time Orlok is near him/mentioned in any way. I kin him.

He's also been described as a "lecherous (fyi horny) bug eating minion". Pretty accurate. Although idk if he can be described as a minion, he's more of a simp 'cause he doesn't do anything meaningful except for sending the MC to Orlok. He just gets locked up in an asylum, eats spiders, attacks people, strangles a guy, breaks out, sits on the roof throwing rocks at people and dies along with Orlok, all while screaming about "The Master!" excitedly. I love this guy.

The movie was compared to antisemitic propaganda because Orlok shares traits with a stereotypical caricature, but a large amount of the cast was Jewish so it's unlikely that it was intended as anything other than a Dracula adaptation with more accurate and frightening vampires. And also it was a metaphor for how war does nothing but destroys lives, I think it was even banned in Nazi Germany.

Also Nosferatu appeared in Spongebob on multiple occasions. Do what you will with that information.

'Bonnie Langford has returned earlier than expected to Doctor Who, with the iconic companion making an appearance in The Giggle!

The actress first appeared as Melanie Bush in 1986, alongside Colin Baker's Sixth Doctor, staying on for part of Sylvester McCoy's run as the Seventh Doctor before leaving in 1987.

She later returned for a cameo in Jodie Whittaker's final episode, The Power of the Doctor, last year, and it was announced that she's going to join Ncuti Gatwa during his first season as the Fifteenth Doctor.

However, we didn't have to wait that long to see her back in action – Mel rocked up in the third 60th anniversary special, The Giggle, now working at UNIT with Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave).

As David Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor enters UNIT HQ, Mel hands him some papers – and the Doctor almost misses her, before doing a double take.
