the reason society is disgusted by period blood is because it comes out of a woman’s vagina.

But that’s the same hole every single human on this planet came out too (except for c-sections but you get the point)

i respect people who want to keep their menstruation to themselves but i have to make it everyone's problem. Literally if it was socially acceptable to lead every conversation with "I'm menstruating" i would.

There was this one time I was on my period. I felt like shit and I was cramping like really bad.

I was in the car with my dad, step mom, and sister. My step mom keep asking me what was wrong, over and over.

I’m fine. I’m fine. I’m fine. She would not let it go. She has a problem of being a massive bitch. Incurable unfortunately.

So after a few minutes of this, I was like fine whatever, I’m on my period.

Horrified silence. And I remember her saying, “Don’t be vulgar.” Or something to that effect.

people need to stop being grossed out about periods

its just someone's body doing A Natural Thing that they can't really control

It's just someone's body being all like"we should get ready for a baby !!" and the person not being able communicate with their body "hey, Im not actually gonna have a baby!"

I'm not saying periods are normal in a way "people who have periods need to stop being dramatic, it's not that bad!", I'm saying it's not gross !

the number of afab people replying to the pain poll going "yeah I've broken limbs and had 1st degree burns and given birth but nothing tops my menstrual pain" is so fucked up it is unbelievable. and I was right there with everyone else until I stumbled on a low dose progestin regimen that just made me stop menstruating. which I would recommend to everyone except it just doesn't work for everyone. ask your doc about it though, it won't cause permanent side effects or injury to try it out. i take norethindrone 2.5mg 2x/day. this dose has to be different for each patient to work correctly, that's just what I take. there's some research to suggest synthetic progesterone like norethindrone is carcinogenic so I'm going to look into switching. anyway i just got extremely lucky. there is seriously nothing like it. it was the worst pain I ever felt until the urology incident and frankly I think the menstrual pain was already a factor in the outcome of the urology incident

i feel like people are sleeping on the occam's razor situation of how buckwild it is to outright accuse a guy of being a clone of your friend even if you DO have a lot of circumstantial evidence. there's other options is what im saying. they could just be like. a guy. that's a sensible deduction. you should explore that deduction. ignore my shirt that reads I <3 RED HERRINGS.

If you’re gonna care about prison abolition and justice you are necessarily going to have to care about the people who DID do those crimes and just want to reintegrate and live a normal life without hurting anyone. You're gonna have to be cool with the fact that the guy scanning your groceries might’ve raped someone. You're gonna have to relax about the possibility that your bank teller used to be a career criminal. The person sitting next to you on the bus might’ve committed three different murders, and as long as he's not about to commit a fourth right now, that's not your fuckin' problem. People don't disappear from society after they commit crimes, and most of them really just want to live a normal, stable life instead of going back to that. And the best way to make sure they don't relapse is to ensure they're able to live that peaceful life instead of freaking out because the guy next door used to run a dogfighting ring. You don’t have to be friends with them, you don't even have to like them, but you're gonna need to be okay with them existing in society. Sorry.
