horror=demon that dragged everyone in horrortale into hell (as perceived by everyone else) (i think it would be a cool hc if everyone outside of snowdin viewed horror as literally a demon. maybe undyne preaches that. anyone outside of snowdin might be WAYYY worse because they starve for longer and literally take part in cannibalism so they might not have the same sort of mild sanity that snowdin residents do,,,, besides he DID kinda bring them all eternal suffering. kinda. nobody but undyne knows what happened at the core so she could totally just paint the story to blame horror fully)

"Satan? You in here?" You pushed open the doors to the library in search of the knowledgeable demon. It was almost totally silent, minus the sound of a gentle, crackling fire.

"Yes. I'm by the fireplace." Satan's voiced echoed through the large room. You shut the door behind you and made your way over to where you'd heard him. "Hello, Mc. How was RAD today?" You quickly made yourself comfortable next to him. You threw your bag down onto the table in front of you and stretched out your limbs. He was reading, as usual.

"Tiring. But not too bad. Baking club was fun. Barbatos taught us how to make a bread that has candy hearts in it. We'll bake it tomorrow. He told us to think of a certain someone while making it for the most desirable outcome taste wise. Guess who I thought of?" You playfully elbowed Satan.

"Was it Cerberus?" He knew how much you cared for that dog, but you also knew he must've been messing with you.

"Noooo. Guess again, silly billy." You loved his tongue-in-cheek antics. Most weren't granted the chance to see that side of him, which was something you were eternally grateful for. He was much more than just the Avatar of Wrath, and it was a real shame others didn't take the time to learn the rest of him.

"Solomon, mayhaps?" You could see the hints of a smile begin to light up his face. You began to laugh as he tried harder to conceal his growing emotion.

"No! I'll give you a hint. He's blond, very helpful, and a genius." You poked his cheeks. He finally put the book down and allowed the joy to overtake his still features.

"So it's Luke then." He himself was beginning to chuckle.

"Wrong again. It's you! You're not very good at guessing games." You swatted at his arms as he put them around you to pull you into his side.

"Thank you, Mc. That's very thoughtful of you." He pressed a kiss on top of your head and into your hair.

"It's going to be delicious, I just know it. Even if the bread is awful, you'll still taste the heart and soul I put into it." You hugged him back, and savored the moment.

"You're so sweet. I'll make sure to enjoy it, just for you." The both of you eventually went back to being productive after you'd exchanged more sweet talk. You had homework to get done and he had a book to finish.

While digging through your bag for your supplies, you inevitably pulled out your pencil case. It contained what was arguably one of the most important tools for completing homework. You tried to fish out your favorite pen and instead found some sort of hard candy you'd been given by a professor earlier that day. You'd personally confirmed it was safe for human consumption, and decided to save it for while you were doing work later. Since it was Satan, despite the fact that he was enthralled in his book, he noticed almost immediately that you'd put something in your mouth. Maybe it was the scent, or the sudden movement, but you caught his attention.

"What's that?" He peeked over the top of his book, intrigued.

"A cinnamon hard candy. It's probably the most normal candy I've had in a long time. Got it for answering a question correctly in Devildom History." You gently blew on Satan's face so he could really smell the cinnamon.

"Where's mine?" He asked. You couldn't tell if he was being sincere or not, but at that point it was too late to give it to him since it was already in your mouth.

"Didn't you have Devildom History today too? You should've gotten your own, babe." You stuck your tongue out at him with the candy right in the center. He lightheartedly rolled his eyes back at you. You thought that was the end of that conversation as he turned his attention back to the book. Little did you know, he was in the middle of devising a plan to 'borrow' the candy from you.

He started by speaking up whenever he could when you were doing your homework. Whenever he saw you hesitate on something, he’d reassure you or help guide you to the correct answer. From there, he would also start to read romantic quotes from what he happened to be reading. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary for him. On the contrary, it would be more odd if he didn't.

"I need a break." You put the book you were holding back onto the table. To mentally relax, you decided to scroll on Devilgram. As you did though, Satan vied for you attention more than usual. Rather than directly asking or whining, he was subtle in his pleading. It didn't take you long to cave.

"You're planning something, aren't you?" You knew him well.

"Is it a crime for a demon to want attention from his amazing, gorgeous partner?" He tried to dodge the question, but unfortunately for him, you saw right him.

"I expect this kind of behavior from Mammon." Satan went silent, but met your gaze. "Do you want a kiss?" You could see the way his features lit up. You planted kisses all over his face, and he returned the favor. When your little exchange was over, you realized something was missing.

Looking over at Satan told the whole story. With a misevious grin, you saw him roll around the same candy while focusing on readiing again. "Satan. Is that my candy?" You knew the answer to that question.

"I have no clue what you're talking about." You could hear the laughter in his voice.

"You win this time. You earned that. Just you wait thought. I'll get you back." You hugged him and began your own scheming. You'd get him in some fun way later that evening. But for now, you planned to just enjoy snuggling with him. He might be a little shit sometimes, but he was your little shit.

"You know what bugs me the most, is that you- you didn't tell me." JJ wasn't mad at her (or maybe she was but not enough to hate her of course) but she was just more hurt that Emily hid it from her since she found out. JJ just wanted answers!

Ik there's been discourse on if Emily did the right thing or not and I don't wanna get into that either but I think if they were both sober, then it would've delved into a more emotional conversation about the website and Emily could've explained in full why she chose that decision. That's at least my thoughts on it for now.

So uhh I finally decided to watch the new clone high season... it was as bad as you would think

But it wasn't a total Joan like the last one so that's a win I guess. Anyways you know the rest, this is an art post so I'll talk a bit about my new favorite ship and then y'know the usual (skip to the end if ya don't want to read my very short silly opinions on it)

Sooooo joanfucius, I wasn't expecting it that's for sure but I wasn't expecting khalopatra to break up as well so I guess we all got surprised. Uhhh, I think Joan x Confucius is actually kinda cool! I genuinely like them and I'm (sadly) already attached so I know I'll suffer when they break them up in favor of joanabe in the end (literally, who even likes them??? No offense if there are actual joanabe shippers out there, love y'all but seriously, it should stay fanon because... Yikes)

They're made up of like- all of my favorite tropes ESPECIALLY the fake dating one like AHHHHH so why wouldn't I love them?? I was kinda bummed that it didn't last that long BUT that's what fanfiction is for, right? (What? Noooo I definitely don't plan on making a fanfic about them making their fake dating part longer pshhh)

Joanfucius for the win I love them, they're my absolute favorite sillies now (well, Joanfk still has my heart but y'know) so I've been working at the speed of light and I have a few drawings of them on the making!

And ik its been a freaking long ass time since I've actually posted a fic but I've been dealing with alot of business and stress in my personal life and have had absolutely 0 motivation to write but I'm back and hopefully I won't be ghosting ya'll like that again lol

But anywho today I'm stepping a little out of my comfort zone today and writing some drarry (its actually one of my fav ships even though I've never writing for it), it's just a little drabble but hope you like

So yeah enjoy

They hadn't meant for Draco to stay the night in Harry's bunk but by the time Harry had checked his watch, Draco was already set on falling asleep in his arms. (And what kind of person was he to rouse such an adorable sight?)

Harry shifted quietly, rolling over to look at the boy laying next to him.

So he was stuck in his current predicament, and while Draco was the cutest thing while sleepy he was also extremely grumpy. But, at this rate they were going to be late for both breakfast and class.

He hesitantly shook Draco lightly, watching to see his reaction.

The blonde boy stirred slightly and then grumbled and shoved his face back into the pillow beneath him.

Harry sighed through his nose and shook him a little harder, even daring to murmur in Draco's ear to try and wake him.

"Draaaco.." Harry whispered next to the shell of his ear. "Time to get up, love."

"Piss off."

"Come one, it's nearly eight." Harry tugged at his arm.

"Go away, Potter."

Harry huffed and re-thought his course of action.

"If I cuddle with you for five more minutes will you get up?"

There was a long pause where he could practically hear Draco thinking.

"Fine." He mumbled and shifted so Harry could properly cuddle him.

Harry smiled and happily snuggled up with him, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. He nestled his head in the crook of his boyfriend's neck, kissing him again.

Harry almost lost track of time by falling asleep again (wasn't his fault that Draco was nice and warm and cozy alright?).

"Alright, five minutes are up." Harry smirked when Draco groaned.

"Noooo..."

"Yeeees." Harry grinned. "Come on, you've slept in enough. Time to get up." Harry poked hin persistently in the ribs a few times. Draco jerked away from him, rolling onto his stomach.

Harry smirked, an idea forming in his head.

"Uh oh... I may have found your weakness Draco." Harry wiggled his fingers into Draco's ribs, eliciting some muffled giggles from the boy beside him.

"H-harry, no!" Draco laughed. He pressed his arms down against his sides but it did nothing to deter his mischievous boyfriend.

Harry continued, dancing his fingers up and down his ribs, kneeding into the bones to hear Draco squeal and kick his feet against the mattress.

"I can do this all day if I have to." Harry said after a few minutes of tickling.

"Stohohop!!" Draco rolled over onto his back, grabbing Harry's hands.

Harry stopped, letting the boy catch his breath and admiring the bright pink blushing dusting his face.

"You ready to get up? Or do I need to convince you more?" Harry darted a hand out of Draco's grip and poked his belly.

"I'm up, I'm up!!" Draco said, jumping out of the bed.

Harry chuckled and grinned. It was so worth getting yelled at by McGonagall for being late and Draco being upset at him for losing house points from Slytherin, though, he could never stay that mad at him for long.

my thoughts on the river/louisa thing

this is not a post saying that anyone should agree with these thoughts, or that any other take is wrong. just getting my feelings out because everyone keeps talking about it lol.

some spoilers for later books (i'm not sure which one bc i haven't read them lol i'm just going off things i've heard)

oh BOY, am i conflicted about the idea of river/louisa going romantic. the thing is, i love their relationship so so so much as it is now. i don't think turning a platonic relationship romantic always HAS to ruin it, but... it's also true that there's no quicker way to get me to hate two characters i previously loved than with an unnecessary romantic subplot. i think their relationship-- especially the way louisa treats river-- is really unique and interesting right now, and i worry that that uniqueness would be dampened or overwritten if they went romantic. i love how louisa really, deeply cares about him, but also doesn't hesitate to be honest to the point of bluntness with him; see "i think he used you. a lot. and i think if it were the other way around, he wouldn't really care." (that scene still obsesses me. she's so caring with him, so defensive of him, and yet at the same time she doesn't sugarcoat anything to make him feel better. she's blunt in saying what he doesn't want to hear but she's doing it in order to defend him, because she cares so deeply about him).

i worry that if they were paired together, that dynamic would change, and they would fall into a more stock relationship, one that would damage louisa's character in particular, either taking the teeth out of her and making her overly sweet, or pushing her into the typical "nagging wife" stereotype... y'know, always fussing at him, criticizing him for doing dumb shit. that's my fear about what might happen. but, to be perfectly honest, i don't think it will. the show writers have been really good about treating their characters with a lot of respect (more so than the books sometimes do [i read the first book and have seen snippets of the others].... lol), so i honestly am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. if they wanna go in a river/louisa direction, i'm not gonna be NOOOO about it, i'm gonna see where they're going with this. i trust them to be able to make it work in a way that doesn't step on louisa's character. i mean, my best case scenario for romantic river/louisa is that their relationship is like identical to how it is now but they just kiss sometimes LMAO. i'd be cool with that! that sounds good to me!

i will say that i am almost rooting for river/louisa a little bit? solely because i don't want river/sid LMAO. i haven't read the later books, but i heard through the grapevine that in the books she comes back and her and river get together. i really hope that's something the show diverges from, bc i really DON'T WANT that. i know it's not really fair to judge sid against all the other characters who we've had whole seasons to get to know, since she was really only in the first 3 eps, but i found sid to be very boring. idk, maybe she'd be better if she came back and they had more time to flesh her out, but what we've seen of her so far? she feels very cookie cutter to me. like she's just there to be river's manic pixie dream girl. which like... boring. seen it before. i'd MUCH rather stick with what river and louisa have going on.

the only way i could see myself enjoying sid is if she gets to have a character and an arc and an internal world completely divorced from being river's gf... like if she came back and had several seasons on her OWN telling her own stories before she was paired with river. that's the only way i could see myself being ok with it.

but hey, y'know who's already had several seasons on her own not paired with river when she's allowed to develop her own arcs and internal world? louisa. which is why i think the idea of them getting together is something i'm willing to try out, at the very least-- i'm willing to trust that the writers are good enough to their characters that she will be allowed to KEEP having an internal world outside of river even if they got together. the writers have been very good to their characters so far. i'm willing to keep trusting them, for now.

i mean, look. the long and short of it is, if i was in total and complete control, i would want no romantic relationships for river. no romantic relationships for anyone in the cast, really. because i find them quite often to be overly reliant on stock relationship types that make the stories being told feel often a bit cookie cutter or repetitive... that's just my opinion. there are so so SO many good and interesting and fascinating stories being told here between the platonic relationships-- any combo of the slow horses makes me literally insane to think about. river and louisa, shirley and marcus, catherine and lamb, lamb and RIVER, even coe and shirley now... i think there's so many varied and unique types of relationships at play in this one little fucked up family unit, i'd love to explore those more rather than wasting time on a romantic subplot that, more likely than not, is going to feel identical to 10 other couples on TV right now (TO ME).

so, if i get total dictator control, i say no romance. but if we MUST have a romantic subplot for river-- which, ok, he's the conventionally attractive lead, i suppose it was inevitable even if i don't have to like it sigh-- i would much rather have him paired with the person he's had two and a half seasons to build his relationship with (though they didn't interact this season nearly as much as i wanted them to rip) and who he thus has an already established deep bond and really interesting dynamic with.... rather than his MPDG from season 1. sorry i'm not looking forward to sid coming back lmao. part of me hopes they change it and just don't bring her back at all. (i mean the actress is on house of the dragon now and that's blowing up, so who knows if they even have a contract with her to GET her back...)

(i'd be equally worried about them slotting louisa into a role that used to be occupied by sid in the books-- louisa and sid are NOT the same character and i'd worry about louisa feeling un-louisa-like when making decisions that originally belonged to sid... but again, i have a lot of faith in the writers to make it work. i think i can trust them to justify why louisa would make these decisions too and make it still feel true to her character.)

anyway. tldr; top choice river isn't paired with anyone and i keep getting to enjoy my little gen sandbox of slough house. but if he must be paired with someone, i'd like it to be louisa (just make it their current relationship but they kiss sometimes! that's allowed!).

(to be honest, putting the romance of it all aside, i do think river and louisa could make very good life partners... i could see them moving in together, helping each other keep their lives together lol. and i think it would be very sweet to see them continue to build those lives into the future with each other-- planning around each other, y'know, putting each other first. but i digress. to me, all of that is a completely separate thing from their relationship being romantic or not. it could happen either way.)

(also this doesn't really have to do with the thing in the trailer bc i've been thinking these thoughts for A While and louisa didn't even look into the kiss in the trailer anyway lmao, i just. i've seen everyone talking about this lately and it's made me want to get my thoughts out)

Not long, I saw everyone's Glamrock Fronnie, as a Monty enthusiast I was like NOOOO HE WAS LEFT OUT :( but then I stumbled upon other people's art with Monty and Bonnie, I've read so much fics about them being enemies or fics where Bonnie's the abusive partner of either Monty or Freddy but I didn't see him as how I see him today (the sweet idiot hornball). Then I started drawing Bonnie more but then I saw Izzy (holidayturkeyy who which I will NOT tag I do not need them seeing this rant guys, pls save me the humility) and their idea of a polycule with the three guys, polycule and Fazbear? BOOM FAZCULE (also it's a reason I don't call the ship Gatorbearbun, I think that derived from Twitter? The hellscape land of musk :> /hj), and THE ART WAS TOO SWEET I COULDNT KVMDKDLS then dots aligned and I got hooked. Sorry for the long answer but to cut this short, I've been shipping them ever since I've discovered the ship's exsistance, that being like 2 years ago already (geez time is fast)

Secondly, yeah that was my first impression of the ship, Freddy and Bonnie are ogs and they find this new guy they both really like so they were both like YEAHHHHH we'll just uhhh talk to him. And then they started to become a polycule. Although I did have ideas back then where Bonnie and Monty drag Freddy into their relationship. This is actually canon to the TOH au me and June share.

Third, yes actually! If you go to AO3 and see my Fazcule Drabbles (short Fazcule Oneshots which I have yet to update lcsmdmldnfk), multiple times have I mentioned about the effects of a polycule relationship to their modern lives, I'm about to do the same thing with a new fic series I am about to write (still on break from writing lol)

I have been wanting to change some things for a bit. I tried to start a blog one thousand three hundred and fifty seven times. I'm trying to marry my interests and they just didn't like each other. Or maybe it was my confidence level. But I've been selling stickers with my original ideas and people actually like it. Truthfully, I'm baffled. It's not a thousand people, but if I put everyone in one room together, I would have a panic attack because I don't want that many people in my house and how they hell did they get in here.

This isn't my best sketch by a long shot. BUT I want the confidence to be ok with it and post it. I want to grow. I want to see my growth. I want to document it and be proud of it. I want online friends to say, "I've been here from the beginning and I love seeing how your style evolved." I want people to also say, "Oh my god, you are so beautiful and your creativity is astounding. That came from your brain? You've got a beautiful brain, girl. Look at you, where did you get that dress? You don't know!? You've had it for seven years!? Yes, fast fashion sucks! It has a hole in the armpit! Don't raise your arms! Woah that's a lot of sweat. Are you ok? Do you need some water? Where are you going? Are you running away? Wait! You forgot your sketchbook. What's in this? OH noooo. Ummm, yikes. I'm just going to throw it away... nobody needs to see this. It's just bad. Not like bad in the way it's criminal, it's just like... bad. Ok, ok, ok. So, the changes. It's purely this. DO WHATEVER I WANT. I tried to figure out what kind of artist I want to be. What is my online identity? And guess what!? I don't need one. Nobody needs one. You probably already knew that, because you are very smart. I will be confident in showing my bad sketches. I will be confident in making animations. I will be confident in making videos. I will be confident in making a book, or two, or three. I will be confident in my paintings. I will be confident in my growth.

I would love to figure out how to be the best artist for MY style. I will soon write a post about how I wish I used art-tober in a more conducive way, but that's for later. This was a little introduction of what I'm doing here. Also, I forgot how much I loved long form blogging. Instagram took that away from me. this. this is the post I've been waiting for my entire life. This particular scene has bugged me for so long since reading it for the first time. Fitz has done nothing wrong in this entire scene. The one slip up is the word 'Damaged' which he wasn't even using as an adjective for Keefe. He was expressing that when someone is hurt, and doesn't get it fixed, the damage stays. But Keefe, already on the defensive bc it's Fitz talking, jumps down his throat for it. If you took out the context that it was Fitz talking, and made it Sophie??? Keefe wouldn't bat an eye. BC WHAT FITZ IS SAYING IS RATIONAL.

This line: Since Keefe presents Fitz's actions in a way that makes them seem appalling and jerk-y, and if Keefe presents this idea in his POV that Fitz is always Mr. Perfect and never has trouble in his family, then the readers are more likely to believe that. sums it up PERFECTLY.

There's an accepted narrative that Keefe and Sophie are often in the right, the most empathetic, virtuous etc... which makes Fitz easy to misinterpret by people who lack literary analysis skills. Especially because Sophie and Keefe are grade A insecure people, and they have this false perception of Fitz's 'perfection.' The part where you mentioned Keefe just dismisses the idea that Fitz and him have anything to relate to each other about? SPOT ON. Bc if Fitz did the same thing to Keefe, there'd be hell to pay. But NoOoO, Fitz just has to take it.

"Okay I'm done liking captain perfect" (I hate RO OMG) neither of Fitz's 'best friends' hop in to defend him? like wtf? He wasn't doing anything to warrant that comment- Keefe was LYING through his teeth, Sophie WAS overwhelming him.

and do not get me started on how Keefe just aired out Fitz's emotions to the room.

I get Keefe is going through it, but he's still being an asshole. If people can't afford Fitz the same grace to say rude, insensitive things when he's under emotional duress- then I won't do it for Keefe.

Keefe can read a bunch of really sad emotions coming off of Fitz, and yet he doesn't soften up even slightly.

AND YES- just the whole framing of Fitz from Keefe's POV is negative 'Boring hair" "He wanted to punch him".

Shannon wants us to hate Fitz. She wants us to accept that he's unlikable, and that's why Sophie and Keefe make sense. And people who have no idea how to look at a situation objectively eat it up.

The Unlocked Healing Center Scene

There are many, MANY scenes in which you could pick apart the ever-loving shit out of Fitz's dialogue and his actions, or just look at how his character is treated from the POV the scene is being told from and compare that to what objectively might be happening.

But one of my favorite's has got to be the Unlocked healing center scene from Keefe's POV, because GOLLY was Fitz just bagged on in that scene, in an almost undetectable way.

(This also isn't meant to be hate on Keefe btw. He's a fine character, not my absolute favorite, but there's no reason to hate on him. It just so happens that Keefe's POV of Fitz is especially patronizing in this scene).

First of all, Shannon starts the scene with presenting us with how lonely and sad he was, just straight up:

”sadness

Nervousness

Regret

Loneliness

Plus a hefty dash of anger.

Coming straight from Fitz” (-Unlocked, idk what page lmao).

I mean, the man was grieving. He just broke up with his maybe girlfriend AND lost the only chance he had to finding his terrorist older brother (who might or might not want to end him and who has caused him and his family immense stress/trauma for the past 4 books if not their entire lives to a degree) in one fell swoop (because of the maybe girlfriend he trusted a lot, not to mention Fitz values trust almost more than he does love so you could basically say the girl he loved).

Me personally? I would just cease to exist after that, but here we have sad, nervous, regretful, lonely and angry Fitz in the healing center waiting for his maybe-bro to wake up. 

Once Keefe DID wake up, Fitz was nothing if not worried for Keefe and trying to comfort Keefe. Fitz was obviously GENUINELY worried for Keefe. Look at this:

”Fitz tore a hand through his boringly perfect hair. ‘I get why your mad. But I’m only trying to help. I know what you’re going through-‘

’Right-you totally know what it’s like to have you mom do deadly experiments on you,’ Keefe muttered. ‘I must’ve forgotten that part of the Vacker history.”

’Maybe not,’ Fitz conceded, ‘but I know what it’s like to have a traitor in the family. And I also remember how scary it is to wake up in one of these cots after being brutally attacked-just like I know how hard it is to talk about what’s wrong, because it feels like you’re admitting the Neverseen beat you. But they only win if you keep pretending everything’s normal, because you end up making the damage permanent.’

’I’m not damaged-‘

‘You’re right. That’s the wrong word.’ Fitz blew out a breath. ‘Look, all I’m trying to say is that I wouldn’t be walking right now if I hadn’t let Elwin help me. I probably wouldn’t even be alive. So I want to make sure you get the help you need-and you do need it, Keefe. No matter what you believe. But accepting help doesn’t make you weak. It just means you’re taking care of yourself.’”

Such an underrated Fitz moment, imo.

First and foremost, lets just take a second to point out the "boringly perfect" hair comment. I don't know why this stuck out to me, but it shows how differently these two characters think. While Fitz has his hair styled "perfectly" because its been his lifestyle to maintain a perfect façade, here we can see that Keefe STILL doesn't understand just what goes beyond this perfect façade of Fitz's. Keefe values freedom, loves rebellion, and his hairstyle reflects that. Keefe makes it messy, but a masterpiece. To Keefe, Fitz's hair is just generic and standard. Perfect, well presenting, but it follows the standard of whatever is considered "perfect" to elves, so we can see that it is repulsive to Keefe's nature.

This is much the same as how much Keefe sees the scale of what Alvar's disappearance has done to the Vacker Family. Keefe continues to reject the idea that the Vackers aren't as perfect as he once believed. As soon as Fitz even mentioned the idea of empathy for Keefe, the idea of relating to him, Keefe immediately rejects it, and rejects the idea that Fitz could have gone through any mental/emotional turbulence as a result of the horrendous situations Alvar has put him and his family through. I mean, for crying out loud, Fitz had literally tried to kill his brother in an emotional mess of conflicting feelings and guilt just two books ago, and unheard of crime for the elves. Fitz had to spend weeks and WEEKS in the healing center. Keefe was there when Alvar, on his deathbed, described how the "Vacker Legacy" was what drove him to a life of crime.

Yes, Keefe was having a rough time to put it lightly, but taking it out on others isn't justified (if you want to be mad at Fitz for taking his anger out on others, now you have to be mad at Keefe for taking his emotional distress out on his friend). We can certainly understand it, but we can't justify it, and because the POV is from a likable character, we're more willing to trust what the character says. Since Keefe presents Fitz's actions in a way that makes them seem appalling and jerk-y, and if Keefe presents this idea in his POV that Fitz is always Mr. Perfect and never has trouble in his family, then the readers are more likely to believe that. Objectively, based on what Fitz is saying and doing, we can see he's struggled and is struggling a lot. Fitz had to have worked on learning to receive help himself (asking for help is a SKILL, believe it or not) in order to truly explain how important it is to Keefe in the way he did.

Who just says "Accepting help doesn't make you weak, it just means you're taking care of yourself" and doesn't mean it in the kindest, most sincerest way ever?

Not just Keefe can take this advice, anyone should.

Side note: I also feel like he gave himself bad flashbacks to when he called Sophie damaged in book two when he accidentally used the word here. Ouch.

At another point in this scene, Keefe also shows how irrational he can be, as Fitz is simply trying to do the right thing and get Keefe the help he needs, and Keefe is ABSOLUTELY DEMONIZING Fitz for it. Keefe's health was Fitz's priority, and Fitz didn't necessarily care if he stepped on Keefe's toes to get him the help that he couldn't see he needed (Sophie was in the room as this point):

Unlocked page 561:

“‘Uh, you should probably step back, Sophie,’ Fitz warned. ‘I think your emotions are too strong for him.’

’No, they’re not!’ Keefe argued-and wow,did his voice sound strained. He cleared his throat and tried again. ‘Nothings wrong. I swear, I’m fine.’

’He keeps saying that,’ Fitz told her-because he was begging for a face-punch. And if the world hadn’t gotten so spinny, Keefe might’ve given it to him when Fitz added, ‘But Keefe’s been picking up all our emotions without even trying. And he’s always been able to do that with you, so I think you’re overwhelming him right now.’

’Okay, I’m done liking Captain Perfectpants,’ Ro announced.

‘Keefe was right there with her-which was probably why he blurted out, ‘Uh, for the record, most of the emotions are coming from you, Fitzy. You wouldn’t happen to have some unresolved feelings for anyone in this room, would you?’”

I'm not gonna lie, if somebody read my emotions and called me out on something that I was VERY touchy about, and was a relatively new blow, I would just leave the room. That was an A class jerk move right there.

Not saying Keefe IS a jerk, because all the characters have acted jerk-y in the series and everyone has their moments, but it was still pretty rude of Keefe to make that comment. What’s annoying is that nobody in the books seemed to react as though it is rude when Keefe makes these kinds of comments. If it was anybody else who had said that, there would be an apology required in order for that character to be redeemed. 

Keefe also literally wanted to PUNCH Fitz, because Fitz was...making sure Keefe stayed alive? Because Fitz cared enough about Keefe's health to make sure the details were pressed out and make sure the facts of the situation were clear? So Elwin could actually do his job??

Keefe hated Fitz in this moment because Fitz was being a practical, helpful guy, but from Keefe's perspective it just makes Fitz look like an asshole.

Ro’s unsolicited opinions are also very unhelpful, since Ro is written to be in support of what Keefe wants (or just in support of whatever will make Sokeefe happen…she’s kind of creepy about her Sokeefe obsession ngl), it makes her more likable and therefore the readers are more likely to trust what she says or take her opinion as their own. 

But Ro saying things like “I’m done liking Captain Perfect Pants” is rude, because it 1), insinuates she will only like someone based on how much they please her, and 2) denotes him to his perfect facade, which undermines his brilliant and complex character. 

Eventually, Keefe tried to apologize to Sophie in a telepathic conversation. He didn’t remotely consider apologizing to Fitz. 

I mean, Keefe was crazy terrified and hurting but...I don’t get how when Fitz was hurt and acted out he was suddenly “toxic and trash”, but when Keefe did the exact same thing nobody said anything.

And nobody even knows Fitz is hurt because nobody asks him. Nobody talks to him about how hard the Alvar situation is for him because they’re scared he’ll just get mad and yell at them, or they just assume he’s just mad about it and wanted to kill Alvar. 

Is nobody going to see that there’s some deep emotional/mental trauma to unpack here? Is he always just going to have to help himself all the time?

At least Keefe has people who understand him, who are willing to talk to him about what’s wrong and help him through it. He had a seriously traumatic childhood, and I’m not comparing their trauma or anything, that’s not what I’m trying to do. What I am trying to say is, Keefe’s got a whole crew of people helping him, people who want to make sure he’s okay, people who care for him, and he rejects it, deems them annoying in Fitz’s case, and just discounts the effort and energy they spend on him.

There is a lot more to unpack from this scene, but it’s mostly all along a similar vein of what I talked about here (this is long enough haha). There are also tons of little details about the Vackers in Unlocked that just emphasize how pressured Fitz is into the Vacker mold, and how the Alvar drama just makes it worse. 

For example: reading Fitz’s registry file, it says that it is “highly suggested that he choose someone on his match list” because of how dragged the Vacker name already is. So when people want to get upset with him for choosing "his reputation over Sophie", we have text evidence that its more complicated than that. Fitz isn't just choosing between being liked by the world and the person he likes, he's choosing whether or not to maintain a level of peace within his family at his own sacrifice. SPOILERS! (if you haven't read stellarlune don't read the rest of this paragraph). Eventually it was his sacrifice, because as of stellar lune, Sokeefe is official. Fitz couldn't repair things with Sophie quick enough, so she moved on.

It also mentions in Keefe’s detention slip write ups about how people actually hassle Biana and Fitz at Foxfire for Alvar being apart of the Neverseen. Because of their family, because of the Alvar drama, Fitz and Biana can't go to school without people bullying them.

Theres also this sad note in Fitz’s Base Quest instructions where Fitz writes about how you can use you special abilities while playing base quest, but included a little side note that said “but it's no fun when you turn invisible the whole time and hide Alvar!” Which just insinuates that Alvar would turn invisible and leave to go do whatever else he wanted while Fitz still thought they were playing. :(

Hello again, anon! :D And noooo omg I'm really enjoying having the excuse chance to ramble about things I love! So don't worry about being repetitive because you're definitely not :D

Top 3 hq!! characters? Oh my. Well I've already said too much about Hinata being my top fave, so I guess I can elaborate on the #2 and #3 in my kokoro.

#2 - Yachi Hitoka and Sugawara Koushi

I'm going to cheat a little here. I love these two equally after Hinata and no one can make me choose who takes the next top spot, so there ;-; Seeing Yachi blushing and stuttering and just being a total mess in front of Shimizu made me forever endeared to her. Like yes girl I too would make an absolute fool of myself in front of people I feel are out of my league. Also!!! Her struggle with self-esteem and her trying to become her own person apart from her mother's legacy is such A Mood. Her arc is shorter than most of the cast but it didn't make it any less memorable to me. And homegirl chose hell with a career in ad design. She's pretty insane, I'm sure.

And Sugawara is just so charming as a character! How I wish I had a senior like him in my high school clubs ;-; It actually distressed me a little that he hardly got any action during their final battles in Tokyo Dome, but his antics on the side made it a little worth it. He's capable, self-aware, dependable and also emotionally intelligent, which I really, really appreciate in male characters. I take comfort in the idea that Furudate-sensei might have modeled his personality after a real individual. We need more people in the world like him imo.

#3 - Miya Osamu

This is actually so funny. Right off the bat, people who know me in real life always guessed correctly who's my favorite of the Miya twins I'm that fucking predictable. Atsumu's a great, interesting character for sure, but Osamu's soporific disposition kept making me think 'hmmmm there must be something else behind this person'. And as soon as it was revealed that Osamu didn't have any intention to go pro after high school, I started fixating on him. And because Furudate-sensei knows my heart, of course Osamu didn't pursue what was expected of him, of course he loves food, of course he'll make a career of making the classic onigiri, of course his uncomplicated love for food is a great contrast to his chaotic relationship with his brother/volleyball. Man!!!

And as for arcs/matches---

#1 - Brazil Arc/Post Timeskip

I am extremely biased. Hinata's my favorite character. And Brazil arc Hinata is god tier Hinata. Anyone who says otherwise can argue with a wall.

But for real, I just love it when authors throw their MCs into unfamiliar situations and environments. People may argue that it's a lazy way to shove character development into the plot, but in Hinata's case it really fits. I also love the cross-cultural exchange that comes with it! I know Brazil is already familiar to Japan considering their shared history with Portugal, but it's still nice for Haikyuu!!'s Japanese audience to (re)learn about a country quite different in culture and social norms. I for one became really interested about Brazil and Latin America that I started reading novels made by Latin American authors.

#2 - Karasuno vs. Aoba Johsai, Interhigh

I might be in the minority here, but I like it when the main characters lose at times. It's not because I enjoy watching the heartache. But the journey going from bottom to top---the possibilites are just endless. It kind of feeds my need for hopeful stories. I think of myself as an optimistic person, and I watch shows like Haikyuu!! wanting to be inspired and uplifted.

Hinata and Kageyama's dynamic on the court was, to me, a bit unequal during the first arc of the manga. The freak quick with Hinata closing his eyes and heavily relying on Kageyama setting with pinpoint accuracy was indeed cool, and it revealed so much about them as characters, but it was clear from the start that it's not the move that'd catapult them to the top. Dare I say it was more of a gimmick than an actual technique; their success with it won't last. Hinata opening his eyes to find himself blocked pointblank made me sad no doubt, but it's also a satisfying way to end the match. There's literally no other way to end it. And I love that this arc spurred Karasuno into making themselves a more complete team by the time they faced Shiratorizawa.

#3 - Karasuno vs. Nekoma, Tokyo Nationals

They hyped this match so much since the first arcs so obviously my anticipation was through the roof. Plus there's the generational aspect of it that made the whole thing bittersweet (The reveal that Grandpa Ukai was watching the Nekoma match in the hospital and commenting with pride, "My disciples are there" !!!!!!!) And I love the imagery this match has given birth to! Conniving cats versus feral crows in the garbage dump! Kenma and Hinata aiming to stab one another at the jugular! Kenma trapping Hinata in a birdcage! And Kageyama breaking Hinata out of it!!! *incoherent wailing*

So sorry if this answer got too long once again. Thank you for taking the time to ask my opinion. As you can see, I greatly enjoyed sharing my thoughts with you! :DDD
