Not to wax political on main but I was in Poland visiting some relatives today. They were explaining that they finally bought electric stoves because of new environmental regulations against coal stoves, but added that they were keeping their old stoves and stockpiling coal "just in case Putin comes and turns off our electricity, you never know". This is something I learned from them within 5 minutes of saying hello.

Folks, the attacks against Ukraine are not over. I have Ukrainian family who are refugees because a bomb destroyed the house they'd worked their whole lives to have. My Polish family is scared for their lives. I can't speak for the folks in Gaza but from what I've heard, life frickin sucks for them too. Militarized war is a parasite and a plague. And someday, when the next generation finds out about these genocides long after they've happened, they'll ask you "so what did you do to stop it? where were you?" and if you're not prepared to handle the answer you'll have to give, you need to step up and do something to change that.

one of my biggest delves [as in, a thing I mention statistically more than normal -- like how chatGPT uses the word 'delve' too often] is how Jesus was ugly -- or at least average-looking. I will bring it up every time I see a particularly hot statue of Jesus.

Isaiah 53:2 -- "he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him." all the hot Jesus statues in European Catholic churches? WRONG. Jesus was Just a Guy. honestly I kinda dig the Islamic principle of not having any depictions of G-d because I don't think a single one in Christianity has been entirely accurate. He was ugly and so am I, and I am totally here for that.
