Barty: bet you're standing in the corner because you're scared that you'll get turned down if you talk to anyone
Regulus: please, I could fluster near everyone at this party if I chose to
Barty: Oh yeah? Prove it. Go for someone borderline impossible and I'll believe you.
Regulus, approaching James: hey dumbass, hoodie looks kind of cute on you, wanna get out of here?
James: WH- I MEAN- UHHHH YEAH SURE
Regulus: perfect šŸ„°

One aspect of ZoSan that Westerners may not get the full nuance of is the concept of ā€œć†ć”恮ā€, literally ā€œof our/my householdā€. Thereā€™s a reason why the EA fandom (mainly Chinese from my POV) disproportionally ship ZS over other ships, to the point where even dudebros hop the joke.
So thereā€™s this Chinese saying that means ā€œbe strict to yourself but lenient towards othersā€ which is seen as model behaviour for respected individuals. I donā€™t know if thereā€™s an equivalent idiom in Japanese but both Koreans and Japanese hold similar attitudes towards treatment of self vs treatment of others in society. Hereā€™s the fun part: thanks to collectivist culture, oneā€™s ā€œselfā€ extends to your immediate family too. Since youā€™re seen in conjunction with your family, if youā€™re head of the house and your ā€œinferiorsā€ misbehave in public, it reflects badly on you as a person. Thatā€™s why strict parenting is more normalised in EA culture, because controlling how your kids behave is more or less the same as controlling how you yourself behave. This is also related to how tough love is a more common form of affection in EA families, thereā€™s a sentiment of ā€œbeing able to be mean to you means weā€™re close, being too nice means I see you as a stranger.ā€
You might now see how this relates to the Strawhats in general (see: Nami beating up members for acting out of line). Sanji is a funny one coz he was sort of a maternal figure secondary to Nami early on in the series. Women aside, thereā€™s a difference in how he treats men on his crew and ā€œoutsidersā€ (e.g. Ace). Heā€™s actually not rude towards men, itā€™s just that we predominantly see his interactions with the crew! Since his crew is his family, he can be strict with them like how heā€™s strict with himself.
How does this relate to ZS in particular? Well, itā€™s because Zoro is closest to him on the selfā€”others sphere. Luffy is his captain so despite the usual bickering he has to obey him to some degree. Usopp and Chopper are younger and weaker, so Sanji has a responsibility to take care of them and show generosity as an ā€œelderā€. Franky, Brook and Jinbe are way older than him so there has to be some degree of respect when interacting with them. Nami and Robin are Women. This only leaves Zoro, who is his equal in both age, power and hierarchical position on the crew. Essentially, Sanji has every right to hold Zoro to the exact same standard as he would himself. And given that Sanji is extremely harsh to himself, heā€™s harsh to Zoro too.
This is why there was virtually no discourse over the ā€œSanji calls Zoro a liabilityā€ moment in the EA fandom. The unspoken context was that Sanji was apologising to Jinbe for Zoro, who wasnā€™t performing his best. And since Jinbe is relatively new to the crew and also much older than Sanji, it feels like a mother/wife apologising for her son/husband?? Itā€™s giving ā€œIā€™m sorry my Zoro embarrassed usā€?? Itā€™s giving ā€œZoro is my responsibilityā€?? On the flip side Zoro absolutely does this to Sanji too. I canā€™t name a specific anime moment but in one of the mobile game collabs he said something like ā€œsorry our cook caused trouble for youā€. The specific wording was ć†ć”ć®ć‚³ćƒƒć‚Æ. (They both think theyā€™re managing the other lmao I hate them)
Tldr: Zoro and Sanji see themselves as one household unit šŸ˜ hence the bickering and bluntness and lack of pretences in general.

Shen Qingqiu deciding that Luo Binghe has been abusing his crybaby privileges a bit, opts to get back at him (only a little) by bursting into crocodile tears at some point of his own accord.
He's not really serious about it -- though he wouldn't admit to it under interrogation, he does actually like Luo Binghe's weepy-pathetic routine. It's just that lately the man's been hammering on it like a cat who has discovered that ringing a dinner bell brings food, and Shen Qingqiu's poor heart can take that much of it, really! So he figures he'll issue an illustrative rebuke by getting some of his own waterworks on and making Binghe appreciate that it can be a bit harrowing to be on the receiving end!
Only, it backfires.
Shen Qingqiu picks his time and his place carefully, waiting until Luo Binghe is in a rare mood of frustration with him (he put himself in danger recklessly again) and then, bringing a tear to his eye by remembering certain unpleasant things, Shen Qingqiu starts to sniffle.
Only, it turns out that he maybe needed a cry? Like was perhaps overdue for this? He's cried before of course but usually only in the midst of overt physical exertion or stimulation (*cough*), not so much just shedding a tear in a relatively calm situation, and, well... the only explanation he can think of is that it was overdue, because somehow what he intends to be some teary eyes and a wobbling lip turns into full-on sobbing.
Luo Binghe panics. Shizun, Binghe didn't mean it! Are you hurt?! Are you cursed?!
Shen Qingqiu, through sobs: no, no, it's fine! Everything's fine!
Anyway, Luo Binghe drags Shen Qingqiu to Qian Cao Peak and subsequently puts him on bed rest and observation for like three days, and Shen Qingqiu just sighs because that's overkill and his plan absolutely didn't work. But being fussed over is kind of nice. Oh. Maybe it worked in reverse, because he has a better appreciation now for why Luo Binghe does this so often?
It ends with him resolving to get Luo Binghe to cry less by just being a little bit more open with his affection from the get-go, instead.

opened tiktok (mistake number one, i know) and immediately saw someone saying that Thomas Hutter subverts the "disbelieving husband" trope which... listen i love a thoroughly pathetic mess of a man myself and i get that Ellen's other option is a 400yo evil corpse, but can we please not give him credit for things he didn't do?..
the literal inciting incident of the story is that Thomas DOESN'T listen to Ellen. he doesn't believe her. she tells him that she's got a bad feeling about this trip, begs him not to go, tells him about her nightmare - and what does he do? he calls it a childish fantasy, tells her to stop worrying, and implies that she would benefit from talking to a doctor. saying shit softly doesn't make it any less dismissive or insulting, like i'm sorry but this is peak Disbelieving Husband in a Horror Movie behaviour. he only changed his mind once Orlok put him through the horrors himself, which is also a perfectly standard thing for a Disbelieving Husband to do in the second act. furthermore, from the beginning of the film, he neglects Ellen's emotional needs, is uncomfortable with her abnormalities, and doesn't even really know what sort of gifts she likes - and again, these are all standard flaws for a Disbelieving Husband to exhibit. they're indicative of a disconnect between him and his wife that he continuously refuses to bridge.
caring for someone doesn't mean you can't neglect or harm them, and that applies to everyone - including Normal People like Thomas, like Harding, like Sievers, like the viewer; and that's the point of the film
