She unlocks her door and jumps in quickly as he reaches the driver’s side. He panics when the engine starts and he can feel his chance to convince her diminishing. Peeta knocks on the window, his eyes pleading with her to roll it down. She huffs while fluffing her wig before she looks over at him with sympathy. So there was this fic it was modern day, and Peeta was overweight. He whent away from the summer and came back really fit. It had Multiple chapters and katniss was aware of her feelings and before he whent away was trying to get him to notice her. I think it had a mature rating on ao3, it's been a while

Oooo this is a hard one! I just finished "Troubleshooting" by nonemoreblack on AO3. It was super cute and festive though...not Halloween but Christmas. For a more Halloween themed recent rec I finished "By The Light Of the Halloween Moon" by TwilightCakes on Ao3 yesterday which was super cute too!

ooh love this! for novel authors i’m very inspired by:

suzanne collins — but of course. i think she’s a genius. i especially admire how convincingly she writes in a first person pov as it’s something i want to improve in my own writing

sally rooney — probably my fav author (who i was lucky enough to meet by chance in dublin!) her command of language and economy with her words is so admirable

elena ferrante — ive only read her in translation (i cannot imagine how impactful her voice must be in italian) but the quiet power of her characters is always something i look forward to when reading her work

ali smith — she’s one of the funniest authors i’ve ever read and even though she writes lit fic, her books are always so playful with language and the characters are so memorable

i take a lot of inspiration from all of these writers to give me pointers about how i want to write!

as for fanfic authors, i owe a lot of inspiration to the smart and funny @thesunpersists 💛 i also love the work that @liberalk1tsch & @skylightangels have been publishing recently! fic authors who have directly influenced my writing for ilyis include atetheredmind, nonemoreblack & ellembee on ao3 (i’m not sure if they’re on tumblr, lmk what their handles are if you know!)
