The problem is that after years of domination on the track, the majority are not rooting for Mercedes’, nor did it ever feel like the majority were in Mercedes’ corner to begin with. Their outright and sheer dominance over the decade pushed so many people against them, just because no one else was good enough to beat them, and it took a farce of a race in a razor close championship to beat them and it disgusts me that none of the officials will call out the injustice of the calls made during the final race. Lewis had the race and the championship in the palm of his hands, fairly I might add. If Max won the championship fair and square, I would accept it without trouble, but he didn’t. 57 laps of racing and an 11 second gap between Lewis and Max suddenly didn’t matter and was invalidated.

Wanting someone different to win a championship is not a valid reason to bend your own rules and not fight for a team that has every right to fight a race that was suddenly rigged against them. This isn’t just about the FIA, it’s the fans that also see nothing wrong with the decisions made during this final race.
