read your tags on the tiebreaker and hard agree. it makes me a tad sad that PM songs are sweeping, not that they're bad, but there's clearly a bias and the fact that they come from a game and a context you can get attached too influences a lot

i've always had a strong preference for songs that tell a story (even pre-mili, i love vocaloid song series and i miss the era where those got tie-in novels and i'm glad that's making a comeback). my favorite mili songs are often interconnected to each other and that context strengthens my enjoyment of them all (rosetta/camellia, witch's invitation/sl0t/ga1ahad/summoning, world.execute(me);/world.search(you);/sustain++;), and the songs made for ruina and limbus explicitly tie into the games' stories while also being self-contained which is cool. its just a shame that project moon fans seem to dgaf about any of the other stories the band has told through their songs :(

I’m a new fan of asoiaf (and Arya obvi lol) and I love ur blog <3 there’s a popularish post on this site that basically talks abt how the comparison between Arya and Lyanna is meant to convey that they were both tomboys and not that Arya is actually really pretty and I generally agree bc obviously yeah but it seemed kinda weird that like so many of the ppl reblogging that post were like either huge Sansa stans or were hellbent on telling others that Arya is NOT pretty which… I feel like is also missing the point?? Idk if you know which post I’m referring to, but either way I was wondering if that’s like a general fandom opinion that Arya is meant to be this conventionally unattractive person that doesn’t have looks really tied to their stories (kinda like Brienne)? Or if this is just something you’d see on tumblr cause I’ve heard the fandom here is a bit different than on like Reddit or twitter

I can take a guess at which post you're referencing and yes, it is a generally accepted idea that Arya isn't meant to be pretty. I don't think that's specific to Tumblr either, I've seen people on tiktok/reddit/twitter/etc. argue the same. While I do think there's a point to be made about Lyanna's memory being romanticized, I disagree that the conclusion should be that Lyanna and Arya aren't meant to be pretty. The idea that personality and looks aren't dependent on each other seems to be a difficult one for this fandom to grasp, so they treat Lyanna being pretty and her being a tomboy as mutually exclusive when they can (and do) coexist. There would be no point in Arya and Lyanna being referenced as pretty as many times as they are (several times for each of them) if that wasn't the case. "Missing the point" is a great way of describing it because this take is dependent on ignoring what's written in the books. As usual, I think this links back to fandom's inability to comprehend female characters that don't neatly fit into flat archetypes and their placing value on beauty and not wanting said value associated with the wrong "type" of characters. Arya and Lyanna being pretty and wild/non-conforming seems to be a little bit beyond fandom's processing capabilities.

if the latter then beast machines is the best queer media because there is a subplot that is a ""love triangle"" between 3 characters and there are themes of homophobia and self identification (gender allegory) and etc etc etc

Maybe it's just that it's late, but legitimately I'm tearing up a bit looking at this data.

There were 17,980 votes cast in play-ins. That's a truly mind-blowing number, and that wasn't even the main event, where it's already almost doubling play-ins' average number of votes per poll on day one of round one.

This was a silly little joke in my head- I was sure it was gonna flop hard.

Would it be reasonable to shuffle the brackets around so that all the remaining PM songs all get pitted against each other - just to save the rest of the songs from being affected by PM bias (saying this as a PM devotee myself)

Honestly probably not? I'm not tagging PM going forward, and all the PM songs (save for Salt Pepper Birds, which is more of a historical song than a PM song) are on one half of the bracket, most of which are facing against each other anyway and the others are facing Actual hydrogen bombs (world.execute(me);, bathtub mermaid, and RTRT are all among the top 10 most viewed songs on Mili's channel). I would be extremely shocked if IHWLL beat world.execute(me);, especially by a wide margin.

Mc is probably twisted from one of the little demon goons, and it makes your contrast with Jamil charmingly obvious. You’re both vices in the basketball club with an outside connection to your wardens (you figured a physical activity’ll ward Idia’s eye away) and you both hate your jobs to a comedic degree. The connection is actually really sweet and subtle!! Atleast until book 6 when Mc is complaining about their ego trippy boss while basically eating out of Jamil’s hand, feeding him information like the layout and hierarchy of styx,, as Idia’s super exclusive assistant it’s only fair to give your guests a full tour!

“geez! And he just gets so flippy-floppy, yknow? He’s got this thing about energy drinks now so I’ve been diluting them, it’s such a pain!”

okay picture this- Mc is comepletely wasted and coming off the high from a holiday party that was totally killer. You wander into the woods past campus and find yourself at a little abandoned cottage, it’s like 100% cozy enough to chill in before stumbling back to the dorms. You continue heading there for pregames/drunken shenanigans, meeting up with some hot guy that hangs around sometimes. You’re fully blindsided when your “little buddy” is kicking heartslabyul ass during a spelldrive tourney..

Savanaclaw’s housewarden has only had his position since last year, and you’ve held yours through all four. After knowing of each other for so long, it’s only logical that you’d become good friends! The Near Misses Tourney

In 400+ submissions many worthy and noble (also some dastardly and evil) men (and orcs and elves and hobbits and the like) were admitted to our fair Tourney.

These are... not them.

No indeed, 20 men (and one... unit?) of those submitted failed to qualify for the tournament, for diverse reasons. They were therefore turned away and tossed on the Near Misses Pile. But the spirit of competition still burns within them, and they have erected a makeshift tilt on the outskirts of the Tourney Grounds.

In the first round, our 21 competitors faced off, in two polls of 10 and 11 respectively. The four highest voted contenders from each side have advanced and will also face off in two polls of 4 and 4.

The semi-finals saw the remaining four competitors face off to determine our finalists.
