Non Shrike AU content yet again but idea where Danny takes on being a superhero more or less out of Amity Park once he's slightly older. Danny continues to go by Phantom. He's a sudden unknown with a rogue gallery who seems to follow him no matter how quickly he travels from city to city. The destruction that follows him is hard to notice and as a result the Justice League attempts to intervene but it's leaving them questioning who exactly this new hero (or foe) is. He is able to go toe to toe with some of the veteran League members until he usually realizes he can't exactly win against them (experience vs. raw power doesn't always work in his favor) and runs away. The League is trying to get a grasp on his powers and abilities and in the end, since he doesn't seem fond of actually interacting with the League, Danny is deemed a threat. It's especially concerning when some members spy him lingering on the edges of Earth's atmosphere star gazing.

Danny views the situation differently, he's trying to contain ghosts appearing from an influx of natural ghost portals throughout the country while juggling being a freshman in university. His goal is get them under controlled as quick as possible, no time for banter, no time to interact with the local heros. He has a job to do. However when the Justice League starts coming after him he believes they realize he's a ghost/part ghost and trying to detain him under the ecto acts. He's terrified and views them as a threat so of course he's going to fight them if they try to get to close.

Danny is eventually captured by Superman after a rogue battle in Metropolis that was extremely difficult so having Superman come in directly after was a losing battle from the start. He's taken to the Watch Tower and given cuffs and a collar that blocks/dampens meta abilities and it manages to actually work on Danny. He refuses to cooperate with any members who try to question him since it's pointless to fight against them now that he's captured. Danny views himself steps away from being fully dead as he believes the Justice League will hand him over to the Men in White once they're finished with him.

A castle mysteriously appears in Gotham one night.

Nobody who noticed it knows where it came from, nor how it got there as it seemingly appeared overnight. It wasn't anything big, as far as castle's were concerned, it seemed to be on the smaller side of things.

However, no one could truly estimate it's actual size. For there seemed to be an ever-present fog that never seemed to stray past the castle's gates.

Just like the fog, you always seemed to hear the cawing of crows and the flapping of bats whenever you step close enough. Yet their visibility was kept hidden in the fog.

Appearances aside, there did seem to be something... off, about the castle and not just because it appeared from thin air, no. It seemed to have a distinct aura of something... other.

No one knew how to explain it, but they could tell there was nothing natural about it. There was something fundamentally wrong with the castle, it wasn't the way it appeared out of nowhere, nor it's appearance.

When Sam finally became an adult, she didn't have to think twice about moving out. It was a bit difficult, with her parents not wanting to let her go just yet, but her grandmother managed to persuade them, thankfully.

When she was younger, Sam had always dreamed of owning a castle. Though its appearance did change in her mind when she grew older, from pretty and pink to one of darker colors and crows, which is why she never got one when she was younger, she realized.

But now that she was an adult, what was stopping her?

Nothing, that's what.

So, Sam buys one that matches her tastes and moves in. There was a lot of space, far more than she really ever thought about and now had to find a use for.

Magic.

Was something that enthralled Sam ever since she was young, that and the occult as a whole. So, for a few months after moving did she try and get her hands on things like magical tomes, items, scripts and learn it.

Surprisingly, she was strongly successful in her attempts of learning magic. It was surprising to be sure, but now that she compares it to the portal to the afterlife, having a half dead friend and having hunted down ghosts, she realizes that magic wouldn't be that much farfetched in the equation.

A fair bit of her time now was spent covering her castle in wards, sigils, and runes, ones that would strengthen themselves over time, various protection wards and multiple others that she found useful. Most of them were ones that she found through text, though others were ones she personally made.

After she finished the entirety of the castle, she studied thoroughly to gain more knowledge and power for herself, she even made a few spells of her own along with various potions. Unfortunately, she was interrupted in her studies by various other witches, because apparently having such a powerful fledgling witch on her lonesome was too tempting of an offer to pass up for the nearby covens.

So she had to... move, before they tried to force her to join them. As for how, well, she moved her entire castle! What better way to refuse, really?

Unfortunately, it was her first time using such large-scale teleportation magic and she messed it up. Not that her calculations on where the castle was supposed to be were wrong, but while in the midst of moving through space she was... thrown off kilter.

She didn't even know how or what caused her to mess up. But her castle both was and wasn't where she wanted it to be. Her original destination was coordinates near Amity Park, and while they were on said coordinates.

This wasn't Amity Park.

To say she worried was an understatement. She scrambled to find something about where she ended up, and realized not only was she thrown off kilter, but she was also thrown off so badly that she ended up in an entirely different dimension. Luckily, she managed to make the philosopher's stone.

To say making it was easy would be wrong, for even she didn't know how she created it. It was by accident and for a while she didn't even know she had made it, when she had and tried to do something with it the stone had, uh, well.

It fused into her skin.

It had placed itself right over her face, on her chest, and it granted her immortality it seemed. Though that wasn't the effect she was currently thankful for no, the effect of making gold would be valuable to her, she wouldn't have the Manson wealth, but she could at the very least sustain herself.

For now, though, she did have her studies to get back to.

how do you clone a fey? that's trick question; and fey love those!

@the-navistar-carol (<333) brought up a good point while I was talking about my changeling danny au with her -- Dani! How would she exist in this au? Danny's a changeling - a fae. How would Dani, a clone of him, be created? How do you make a fey? Not through any means that Vlad is doing; you can't make a fey through unnatural means, considering the Fair Folk are nature. And Vlad's not a fey himself -- he's a halfa, even if he could make a fey, it's not in his best interest too. He's a powerful ghost, but even the weakest fae can overpower the strongest ghost. He won't want a clone of Daniel to be more powerful than him.

(In a three tier hierarchy it goes Ancients -> Fae/Mythos -> Ghosts. They all live in the Infinite Realms, but on different Planes. The fae live above the Ghost Zone in the Fey Wild, while the Mythos live beside the Wilds or down in the ghost zone depending on where they are. Places like the Frozone, the Athens Acropolis, and other such large islands climb throughout all three Planes.)

(While Ghosts can travel into the Fey Wild, its generally advised against as the ectoplasm tends to manifest differently there due to close contact magic. It can make it rather disorientating for a ghost, and as human spirits, the Fae living there would jump them faster than they could blink. So unless you're willing to play mind games with 'steal thy name eat thy face' fae, most ghosts keep out of the way of the Wilds. Fey can travel down into the Ghost Zone, they just don't bother.)

That's of course, not taking into account if Vlad even knows Danny's a fae himself. Vlad doesn't ring me as someone who really cares much about ghost culture or the going ons of the GZ. He might be aware that fae exist, but the moment he realizes he can't use them for personal gain he just doesn't bother with them. The risk is greater than the reward, and he'd rather not get eaten. But lets assume he's aware by now that Danny is fey, and has to take that into account while cloning him.

So, how does Dani exist? Good question! Honestly; i'm not sure. She might not exist at all, or if she does, she's more halfa than fey. Vlad would need a lot of human dna and ectoplasm to balance out all that fae magic. He manages to steal DNA from Jack and Maddie to do it, and since Jack's fey ancestry is very dormant its much easier to use alongside Danny's DNA.

In turn, it results in a little girl whose more human-ghost hybrid than clone. With that little extra boost in fey magic making her not a fey, but still relatively powerful. Dani is less of a clone and more of a lab-grown little sister. It's a rather tedious, complex process that has Vlad tearing his hair out trying to figure out. But he does eventually figure it out.

Their combined words echoed across the cave far longer in the silence that followed their words than it felt like it should have. It was difficult to tell if any of the other bats and birds were even breathing.

A frown marred Damian’s face, despite having said the same harsh words as his twin. Danny saying the very same words left a sort of bitter taste in his mouth. It wasn’t even the words themselves but more the resignation and dismissal of his own worth that ate at Damian’s gut. Someone stabbing him would have hurt less than Danny’s next words.

“You don’t need someone like me. I’m not motivated enough and all that to be like you guys. I’d just get in the way.”

Dick, ever the one to try to find compromise, spoke up. “There’s more ways to help than just fighting…”

“Listen,” Danny interrupted, “it’s not like I’m dumb but I’m not a genius like you all. I suck at strategy and sitting around on my hands, the only thing I’m really good at is being cannon fodder or a distraction. I’m not competitive or ambitious and I’m certainly not about to start trying to be any of that. That ship has sailed and sunk.”

“Danny, I-“

“It’s fine Damian.” His bitter smile contradicted the words. “It’s important to know one’s own strengths and weaknesses, right?”

Holy cow there’re a lot and I really do mean A LOT of Welcome Home AUs, and more coming too. Not saying it’s a bad thing, but it makes sense considering WH doesn’t have a lot to work with so it leaves tons of room for fans to play around with. I just hope it doesn’t get outta hand like what happened to Undertale with its AUs.

Phosphorescence Pt. 2

A/N: hey guys I finally figured some stuff out 😌 had my surgery today so I decided to go ahead and post this so I can focus on writing more. Still no idea where this is heading but hey ~ I'll make it good for you. No Pairings as of yet. Also I used a generator to give me an idol to use as another character so sorry if it doesn't fit their personality!

The house was quiet, early morning sunlight streaming through the cracks in the black out curtains. Your footsteps barely there as you step through the hallways, making your way to the kitchen.

This was your favorite time of the day, the calm before the, inevitable, storm.

Living with 8 men was not something that was calm, nor quiet.

You start the coffee pot, hips pressing against the counter as you cross your arms over your chest, head hanging back with your eyes closed. You bask in the silence but keep an ear out for one of the guys.

The scent of fresh brewed coffee fills the room, but the tell-tale sound of it dripping into the pot has yet to be heard.

You huff slightly but stay as you are. “Good morning, ‘Jin.”

You can imagine the pout on his face as he settles next to you, footsteps just as silent as yours. Lazily rolling your head towards him, you open your eyes.

He is, in fact, pouting.

“How’d you know?” he grumbles, bottom lip jutted out as he blinks at you. You take in his gorgeously sleepy face, eyes open enough, but still squinting at you, not out of suspicion but out of bleariness.

“The coffee hasn’t started dripping into the pot yet, ‘Jin. If you’re going to try to mimic scents you have to do it when the timing is right.” You close your eyes as he huffs, imagining the eye roll you know he’s doing right now.

You could hear his mumbled, “It works on Jisung.”

“That’s because Jisung never knows what’s going on UNTIL he’s had coffee.”

You smirk as you listen to the sounds of him shuffling around the kitchen, the coffee finally dripping into the pot.

The kitchen drifts back into a quiet hum of background noise: Hyunjin beginning breakfast, the coffee sounding half full, the creaks from the doors and floors as everyone else starts to wake up.

You finally remove yourself from against the counter, pulling out plates and cups for everyone before finally getting your coffee.

Jisung is already at your back, reaching around you getting sugar to grab the coffee, you twisting around him to get the creamer from the fridge.

A daily dance that you both could do with your eyes closed. You finish making your coffee, setting the creamer next to him as Minho grabs your waist and gently shifts you out of the way towards the other side of the island as he settles in next to Jisung to make his own coffee.

Jeongin settles next you, arms resting on the island as he leans his head against you while you sip your coffee, both of you watching Hyunjin as he continues to cook breakfast. You watch as everyone else starts to stumble into the kitchen, blurry eyed and half awake.

Chan and Changbin walk in first, foregoing the coffee, opting for juice instead as Seungmin and Felix take Minho and Jisungs place, another pot already finished brewing for them.

You nudge Jeongin and he shifts off you, head coming to lay against his arms as he closes his eyes and dozes.

You leave the crowded kitchen, making your way into the living room and settle in the corner of the couch, still nursing your coffee and greedily trying to steal the last moments of silence before-

“Ahh! Hyunjin, you’re not cooking it right!” Changbin yells, loud and echoing.

A smack of a spatula is heard against flesh, “Yes I am!”

You breathe deeply through your nose, exhaling sharply when Felix drops down next to you on the couch, already curling up against you. He rubs his face against your shoulder, settling against you, and you lay your head against his.

“Sleep well, Lix?”

He hums affirmatively and you both continue to sit in silence as everyone in the kitchen comes to life.

You watch as they file out, one or two at a time, finding places either at the dining table or around the living room, chatting amongst themselves, or sitting silently as you were.

Hyunjin brings out breakfast, sets it on the table and sits, huffing as Changbin settles next to him and admonishes him, still, about how he didn’t make it right.

You shake Felix from his doze and nod your head towards them. He blinks a few times before getting up and heading towards the two, diffusing the situation quickly as he steals both their attentions away from each other.

Chan moves from the table to sit over with you, leaning in close.

“We have a meeting today with Woozi and his gang.”

You turn towards him nodding your head. “Are we all going?”

He presses his lips together as he thinks before shaking his head. “I think just me, you, Minho, and Seungmin can handle it...”

There's an open pause and you realize he's asking you for your opinion. You may not be anywhere near the top of being in charge, but he still values your strategic input.

He waits as you mull it over. A gravity controlling substance mimic, a darkness manipulating shield, an invisible teleporter, and a mind reader with photographic reflexes and probability manipulation.

Your eyes shift to Hyunjin.

“Why don’t we bring Hyunjin along, just to keep the situation calm? We both know how much they dislike us. His pheromones should keep it civil, not to mention the mind control.”

He purses his lips together again, while glancing at each member. “Yeah, that should work. We’ll have a shield, a mind reader, an escape, luck, and durability on our side. That should make it pretty easy to get out if we need to.”

You hum your agreement, standing up to stretch. “When are we leaving?”

“In an hour. I’ll let the guys know. You go get ready.”

You nod at him, walking over to the table and grabbing some food before heading back to your room.

You wait ‘til your door shuts behind you to start letting your mind run over each course of action that could take place at the meeting.

Woozi definitely doesn’t like your group, but the mutual appreciation of strong powered individuals usually tends to keep everyone civil. His group tends to have more tangible advantages compared to ours: super strength, invincibility, shape shifting, electro kinesis, magnetism, etc. In the event the meeting turned hostile, they’d have to get passed your shield, Seungmins’ probability, and Minhos’ teleportation.

You shake the nerves out of your body as you begin to get ready, stretching and clearing your mind.

A small smile graces your lips as you think, “We’ve got this.”

Danny's first appearance as Phantom to the wider public over in Central City where he gets control over Ember. At first it was assumed he was a Super but that was quickly disregarded simply by the lack of association/symbol identifier and power set. Like how wild would it be to have some random villain no one has seen before wreck half the city with no way to stop them and a new hero come in and easily stop her when some of the top heroes couldn't.

Here is also Flash freaking because of a new hero as he was the first hero to actually see/interact with Phantom.

Also I still have no idea what to call this au so it's still going to be non shrike au till I figure it out, but thank you aus because that means slightly different designs and headcanons to incorporate! This AU takes place when the trio is all in college, nearing the end of their studies. Danny is majoring in Physics with duel minors in inorganic chemistry and maths over at Central City University. He's mostly living on his own without much help other than from Sam. Between breaks or semesters, Danny interns over at S.T.A.R. labs. Also because I can, Danny has faint lichtenberg scars on one side of his body that are now pretty hard to notice. He loses most of the playfulness with his fights as he gets older because he has things to do and the whole hero thing is just kinda a side gig at this point.

Even though they're apart, Sam, Tucker, and Danny all remain close. Sam ends up going to a different university, Gotham University specifically to study animal sciences. She works with wildlife rehabilitation centers or animal rescues throughout the town and donates to them. Tucker ends up at Star City University studying engineering with a minor in history, taking up a part time job to help manage the uni's computer labs.
