This is actually some of the only good criticism I’ve seen of Israel.

It IS horrible that the Israeli government steals houses. That, unlike 85% of the crap I read on here, is a proven thing that they do. But I want to challenge the simplistic narrative that it’s “giving them to white people”.

Plenty of the people taking stolen houses aren’t white and some white families have found out that their house is stolen and given it back.

Please resist the urge to flatten this to American centric race relations. Not only because it unnecessarily furthers the narrative of “white = bad/ brown = good” but it accidentally excuses non white Israeli leaders and individuals that have participated in this practice.

I don’t believe the Israeli government is targeting civilians but I do believe they simply don’t care what the collateral damage is. And at that point I believe we are splitting semantic hairs if the end result is the same. I think Netanyahu is a criminal a lá Trump and belongs behind bars.

If everyone responded like you did,I wouldn’t be answering 100 dumbs asks a day. Thank you for demonstrating what actual criticism of Israel should look like.

На мой взгляд, быть детранзишенеркой - это значит лечить зависимость ��т селфхарма. Я завязала с тем, чтобы быть трансом. Я больше не верю, что транзишен это нейтральное решение. И поэтому утверждения о том, что это так, ставят меня в тупик. Это так бесчувственно, говорить зависимой от наркотиков, что ее зависимость - это нейтральное и личное решение каждой, когда на самом деле оно приносит вред всем вокруг, а главное ей самой.

И особенно раздражает, когда мне говорят, что я обязана все еще общаться с людинями, остающимися в плену селфхарма. I'll make this post longer, too: SWIMWEAR of all things needs to be about YOUR COMFORT AND SAFETY!!! The water is only your friend if you're a fan of proper hydration (which you should be), and anything you might wade in, swim in, dip your toes in, or hang out around can be surprisingly hostile.

You are not adequately prepared for the surprises. You can't be. Even high-end professionals with high-end equipment, from diving to fishing to scientific exploring, are caught by mortal surprise every now and then.

Whether you're a strong swimmer or not, whether you're wearing your life jacket or not, COMFORTABLE AND SAFE SWIMWEAR will help you deal with surprises a little better.

Fleeing from that algae, or worm, or crawdad, or fish, or mysterious monster that washed past your toes? Twisting around when you're not quite sure which way is up to tap out against your friend who playfully wrestled you down under the water? Swimming up and out to safety when you slip off the deck, off the rocks, or when the crusted sand at your feet breaks under the sudden impact of a wave? Catching your cousin and dragging them back to where they can stand when you see them struggling near the buoy line? Helping your panicked, cold, wet dog back to shore when the weather changes faster than you expected? Or when that dog chases a seal, or a turtle, or something else that can absolutely swim worlds better than either of you?

Today, after a decade of dangerously loathing the shape of my body, I shopped for a swimsuit by asking myself the same question my grandma asked me when she took me shopping for a swimsuit to keep at her house for the summer:

"Will you be comfortable playing mermaids or fairies in that? How about dolphins? Okay, what about pirates, or sea monsters, or astronauts? Are you sure?"

And when I was a kid, I took that advice very seriously, and thought about my answers very, very hard. If I can't see myself move in every way imaginable without feeling restricted or exposed in a particular suit, I shouldn't buy it.

I'm not going to let my relationship with my body drown out such good advice for my hot springs trips this year.
