Tell me about the dynamic between Dori, Y'lanth, Yanzik and Nokvroz 👀✍️📖

Yl’anth and Yanzik are two Ruinblood Clan OCs that belong to @voidtoblivion !!! She’s the one who helped me make this au :3

Okay a bit of context/background: this all takes place in an au where Dori ends up serving Dagon under Nokvroz in a “keep them alive for x amount of time then kill them if you want” sort of punishment situation. At first the desire to have nothing to do with each other is mutual, but after Dori starts getting close to his subordinates, he starts getting pissbaby jealous about it because he views it as Failure to be a good master on his behalf, and as a narcissist his fragile ego can’t take it.

Needless to say, she's the first person Dori starts growing attached to, and it makes Nokvroz FURIOUS. He uses this as leverage later to try and force Dori into being vulnerable around him the same way.

Yanzik is a kynval scientist who's cringefail on dremora standards for being small in stature, more passive in nature, and having a deep fascination with mortals as a consequence of being naturally curious about everything. She's usually disregarded as pretty useless, but gets a chance to shine when she's told she needs to help Nokvroz's mortal pet "adapt" to life in the Deadlands. And life around others in general. They are shedding half their body weight due to the heat and they won't let anyone touch them to help. She's here with a brush, a bit of tenderness, and a lot of determination.

Yl'anth is a Kynmarcher and just about the only one who's able to point out when Nokvroz is making a bad decision and still keep his head. The one to carefully be like "you *do* realize that most sentient being don't like their personal space forcefully invaded right?" after Nokvroz acted belligerent and caused Dori to sulk for the rest of the day AGAIN. He also functions as Dori's primary mentor when it comes to combat and the Dremora's culture surrounding it. He's strict and ruthless, but patient and understanding enough that Dori can work under him without anxiety. At first he views taking care of them as a duty and their existence as something potentially entertaining, and eventually grows fond of the funky chaotic little cat.

Nokvroz also gets jealous that Yl'anth able to teach Dori when HE'S their master, and Yl'anth really deserves a raise for essentially being the middleman between a megalomaniac and a sad, wet cat.

Against All Hope - The Deadlands

To add my own context for Healer, but Healer is actually the first dremora and an et’ada. She is the reason dremora look the way they do an are like that. Which means Nokvroz has beef with some 80 yo grandma on a moblity sooter getting hit by a handbag. Healer and Lyranth arn’t really besties or pals it’s more ‘who left this sassy lost child alone’ for example this wip I never finished:

Vexi is right that she does take pity on Lyranth and this is her downfall as even her own child (in our lore daedra can form familical bonds) tries to stop her from going against Dagon. Healer often balences Dagon to stop him from being too destructive (Dagon is a force of nature, a nesesity but also needs to be kept in check) and when Lyranth batrayes her she does get resented by the whole deadlands. With Nokvroz it’s generally frowned uppon for any dremora to destroy another clan completely, so the fact he did with the Mindcleaver clan makes him that 1 guy everyone visably groans at entering the meeting room. Healer is no exeption and is more bias to Lyranth against him because she lost her clan.

What's the history between Healer and Nokvroz?

As part of our ESO Deadlands story were admittedly still working on Healer works with Lyranth to start investigating the Waking flame as they're pals in Fyshes canon and even beat up lord warden dusk together. This ofc earns nokvroz ire who Healer already isn't keen on through his antics turning Arox into a daedrat.

After the climax of the battle after Healer realises she's kinda been betrayed by Lyranth she realises nokvroz somehow survived and returned to his dremora form but horrifically injured so she saved his life and it puts the two into a sort of "I can't stand you but I owe you " type of hatred for one another. Given Healer becomes his doctor for a long time as he recovered. Nokvroz in turn for his life did attempt to try and steer /some/ blame off healer to dagon himself. Some.

okay but what if Celdina survived Deadlands’ main story and became the final Big Bad of the epilogue? So she’s badly wounded by the Vestige but manages to escape via a portal when Nokvroz arrives, vowing to finish what she’s started. She then disappears to recover, knowing that the Vestige will do her dirty work for her by killing Nokvroz and saving the Anchorite.

Sombren’s corruption arc is then less turning the Ambitions over to Dagon in a misguided attempt to save Calia and more attempting to play Celdina. He contacts her under the pretense of giving up the power of the Ambitions in exchange for being allowed to live, lets her take his and Calia’s powers away and then attempts to kill Celdina so that she can’t give the power to Dagon. Except Celdina anticipated Sombren trying something like this and strikes back, saying that she thought he’d have done a better job considering he had a dremora for a teacher. The only reason she doesn’t kill him is because Team Vestige arrives to intervene and Sif and the Anchorite drive Celdina away with their combined power.

Celdina then tries to use the three pieces of the egonymic she has to begin Nirn’s destruction so that she can herald in her new perfect world, all while counting on Team Vestige to bring her the final piece she needs because they need the egonymic too, so they can’t just leave Sif behind in safety.

She just had a lot of potential and would have been a more effective final villain than Sombren, because his arc is entirely offscreen and the Vestige gets such limited time with him that it feels like Blackwood!Sombren and Deadlands!Sombren are two entirely different characters.

Celdina? She's depicted as a cunning individual of significant intelligence and religious fervour that would have made her perfect for the role. And it would have given that final encounter much more emotional weight for the Anchorite, considering that she’s now had time to come to terms with Celdina being her mother. It’s not ‘suddenly remember horrible mother, watch friends kill her’ but ‘suddenly remember mother, watch friends fight her, see her retreat into the dark and wait for her return.’
