Tumblr media Tumblr media
To pause your music press once on either earbud, to skip track double press right earbud, for previous track double tap left earbud. Step 4) The first earbud which connected with your mobile phone is main earbud. I have Sony Bluetooth headphones (DR-BT21G) and they suddenly stopped working earlier this week, in that there is completely no sound output from the left headphone (no static either). I've reset them, disconnected and reset them, tried one at a time, even tried DUAL BT on my phone but that sounded like crap. Ironically I talked my brother into getting a pair an his sound fine! 3-4 Working days for other cities Dismiss Thanks Make sure you … Cleaning ears and earbuds: ear wax is a natural creation. We all get it in ears. Also, check whether the audio jack is … Then I did Almeida's method of only taking the left earbud out first. If your computer status changes to this, the Bluetooth earbuds might not be working properly or at all If the computer turns ON and you are still experiencing the same issue, plug the charger in a wall faceplate power source. 1.Remove "QY7" form all of your device's bluetooth menu. Never undertake manual repairs or modifications to hardware if without qualifications and always seek guidance from your retailer if you can't find a solution to your problem. 2.Long press power button while charging until you see the purple LED flashes three times. You can reset them as well which could help, follow instructions in the manual to do so (link above). Its very annoying and I cannot understand why the left won’t work. I have tried all of those and mine won't sync with each other, the left earpeat truecapsule wont connect, when i leave it in the case it flashes red 3 times, then is unresponsive other way. SOUNDPEATS Truebuds Bluetooth earphones are equipped with a lightweight charging case which is not only a charging dock to charge the earphones, but also a carrying case. They have the same stem based design as the Anker Liberty Airs I reviewed recently, and Apple’s AirPods for that matter. The Youtube video posted by above was successful for me when followed exactly. I also having the same issue and tried in several methods, and finally is working for me! Incredible shopping paradise! Unfortunately if you only take the left earbud out with you the same controls still stand, but I'm not gunna let that ruin this awesome product, luckily I … We create SOUNDPEATS® bluetooth headphones to make the life smarter and we make the first world-class hifi sounds in the area of electronics, we make the hearing better, we make the voice better and we make the world better! Please help. Paired in stereo out of the box just fine to my phone. The $29 buds work fine for me for casual music enjoyment and answering phone calls. Is there a fix? Hi there people I have used my Soundcore Life P2 wireless earbuds for a few weeks now, but today, after a short break where they rested in the charging case, the left earbud wont play a sound anymore. If you're a fan of the security of ear hooks, Amazon is also knocking the price of the SoundPEATS Q9A down to $18.99 from the usual list price of $43.99. These headphones have racked up a four-star average across 14,275 Amazon customer reviews, and this price is a steal for Bluetooth earbuds with a six-hour run time. The headliners are the SoundPEATS QY7 4.1 Wireless Noise-Cancelling Sport In-Ear Headphones with Mic in seven different color combinations for just $17.99, a sharp discount from the normal $45.99 list price. Untraditional Loss
Tumblr media
mark smut
tw: sex, loss of virginity, smut, heterosexual sex, the act of a man inserting his penis into a woman
"19 and still a virgin... ah, how's life a virgin?" Haechan sighed mockingly, throwing a popcorn at you. You whined. "19 is still young; You're just stupid."
Haechan stuck out his tongue. "Don't say that. At least I got my position without daddy's help."
"You aren't even supposed to be eating here."
"Okay, daddy's daughter."
That set you off. You stood up, walked in front of Haechan, and started pushing his wheeled-chair towards the door of the office.
"I didn't choose to get this position!" you yelled before you tipped over his chair, sending him flying onto the ground, barely saved by his reflexes.
You turned your head around and stuck your tongue at Haechan as he grumbled behind you. "You're rude." he commented as you two got in an elevator.
"So are you, so I think we're even."
Haechan bit his lip, clearly trying to stop himself from talking back.
You turned on your phone, scrolling through pictures of Instagram models.
"Doesn't it get boring?"
You turned around. "What?" you asked.
"Doesn't it get boring," Haechan shrugged. "Watching pretty girls sit around and show ass during your free time?"
You failed to conceal a laughter. "Nah, I watch them for different reasons other than to see them 'show ass'" you gave him a mocking smile.
Ding.
You got off the elevator, stumbling over your high heels (which you never liked). Finally, your working hours were over. You never liked offices, but were inevitably forced into the business world by your father.
You said a quick 'thank you' to the receptionist, nearly falling on your stomach as you rushed to get into your car- or freedom.
Turning on the engine hastily, you drove your way to your favorite spot on Earth: the bar.
You never drank. Wine tasted expensively shitty. Beer tasted strong and yet bland. Normal alcohol just didn't sit right with your tongue.
Instead, you had your eyes on one thing on the menu: mouth-watering crispy french fries that dominated your taste buds.
You soon found yourself in the bar, enjoying a medium bowl of fries. You scrolled through Instagram again, disappointed with yourself.
Your mind wandered to your conversation with Haechan.
"Doesn't it get boring? Watching pretty girls sit around and show ass during your free time?"
"Nah, I watch them for different reasons other than to see them 'show ass'"
You laughed to yourself as you liked another selfie from a popular korean uzzlang. You had lied.
You found the concept simple. They were pretty; you were not. They had the perfect body; you did not. Their face were perfect; yours' wasn't.
You felt your eyes darken.
As simple as the concept was, you never liked to accept it.
"Hello?"
You turned around to meet a man in his mid 20's. "Can I sit here?" he gestured at the seat next to you. You scanned the area quickly. There were no other available seats. You shrugged. "Why not?"
He gave you a tired smile before plopping himself on the chair. He waved to the bartender. "The usual, please."
Your eyes widened as the bartender brought him a cup and 2 full bottles of alcohol.
Before the stranger could take a sip, you stopped him.
"That's way too much."
He raised his eyebrow, amused. "What, you want some?"
You shook your head. "I don't drink, but seriously, that is way too much to be healthy."
He chuckled darkly.
"Why do you care?"
You scoffed at him. "Just don't." you said and offered him a fry. Amused, he took the fry and ate it. You stared at him, with expecting eyes.
His eyes met yours. "Mm? Tastes good." he said in response to your look.
You smiled, satisfied. "You can have mine. I ordered too much."
"How do I know you didn't spike it without me looking?"
In response, you made direct eye contact with the stranger. You took a large handful of fries and stuffed them into your mouth, all while maintaining the eye contact.
He laughed. "After seeing that, I doubt I want to eat any of those fries."
"You're mean," you huffed. "Just like Haechan."
His eyes widened. "You know Haechan?"
Your eyes widened too. "You do too?"
He stared at you for a second before bursting into laughter. "Ah, if you know Haechan, you must be the famous 19 year-old virgin."
You looked away, embarrassed. "Damn, I'm really known for that?" you groaned, covering your face with your hands.
"It's not exactly a bad thing," he shrugged. "Lots of men would want to sleep with you."
You narrowed your eyes, suddenly having a quesion.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Mark."
You fumbled your hands, suddenly turning red. "Mark... You said a lot of guys want to sleep with me?"
Mark nodded. "Mhm."
"....Does that include you?"
He nearly spat out the fry he had took from your plate. Quickly maintaining composure, he couldn't help but look away sheepishly. "At some point, maybe."
"How about now?"
"Why are you asking me that?"
You groaned, embarrassed. "I don't want to be known as a virgin. Seriously..."
Mark laughed. "You'd rather lose it with me? You barely know me."
"That's why I want to lose it with you."
Mark stopped laughing.
"I... I don't want to make things weird if I lose it with my friends. But you- it'll just be much easier." you sputtered.
Mark got up. "Never had a hookup like this, but sure. My place?"
You nodded, suddenly wondering if you're going to regret your decision.
Mark's place was surprisingly.... Suprising.
"You watch Cocomelon?" you snorted, looking at a 3D printed figure of the familiar melon. He swiped it away. "I used to love collecting anything watermelon related." he quickly explained.
you were brought into his bedroom, feeling as un-needy as a person could be. mark sighed. "damn, we both aren't feeling it, huh?"
"we can play minecraft." you suggested.
mark shook his head. "nah, come here. lemme kiss you."
your eyes widened and you burst out laughing. "okay, okay," you snorted, feeling Mark's lips brush against your neck. you gasped unexpectedly as you felt Mark squeeze your waist.
"mm? where did all the lightheartedness go?" Mark hummed, his hands roaming your body. His finger skillfully undid your bra, your breaths shortened by the nervousness and excitement you felt.
Mark smiled to himself, wrapping his arms around your body gently. "I'll be gentle, okay?"
You nodded in response, slightly calmer. Mark lightly pushed you onto the bed, on your back. He went on top of you, classic missionary position.
Your eyes fluttered as you felt Mark's soft lips against your body, gasping a little when you felt his hands working off your skirt. When he got up to look at your face, he moved your skirt to the floor.
"Cute." Mark chuckled, looking at your bear print panties. You looked away, embarrassed. Mark gave a small kiss to the area above your panties as he took them off for you.
"Want to help me to take of my clothes? Experience?" Mark offered, now sitting down. You got on your knees and began to take off his blazer, and then undoing his shirt buttons one by one. You kept your eyes on his neck, too flustered to see his bare chest.
Mark noticed this. Chuckling in a deeper voice, his softly grabbed your shoulders and pulled you back. "You can look, don't worry about looking respectfully now." he whispered.
You did and gasped, your head finding its spot against Mark's neck in a second. Mark laughed at your response. "I'll take off my other clothes for you." he said.
He took off his pants, and then his underwear. Your eyes were glued to a pillow, embarrassed.
"Don't be scared," he whispered to you, pulling you in for a kiss. His tongue and yours interacted against each other, seemingly dancing. "Touch me anywhere you want, baby. Tonight's your night."
Your hands found its way to his abs and chest, feeling the toned muscles. You gasped against Mark's chest, embarrassed yet curious. Your hands went further down and down-
"Fuck," Mark sighed as your hand found itself around his cock.
"Had enough touching, baby?" he asked you, his lid half closed from the feeling of your hand around his cock.
You nodded, lying on your back.
Mark looked at your eyes softly, his lips connecting with yours. You pulled away from his, leaving a small gasp as you felt yourself being filled.
"S-s-stop-" you whispered as it started to hurt. Mark stayed as still as he can, struggling as your walls wrapped around his cock tightly. "O-okay, now you can go."
Mark went inch by inch, stopping when you requested, until he was fully inside you. You squirmed underneath him, feeling filled.
"I'll start moving." he whispered to you. Your eyes stared at him, begging him to kiss you. He bent his head lower, allowing you to kiss his face as you struggled to contain him. Mark started to rock his hips, his length going even deeper inside of you.
He groaned, centimeters away from your face. "Fuck." he moaned, instinctively finding his lips on yours. You whimpered against his lips. You didn't feel much pleasure, but did feel it coming.
You squirmed, lips still desperate to stay with Mark's as you felt the famous pleasure start to sink into you. "Mark" you whispered into the kiss. "Feels good."
"Mm? Good girl, it'll feel much better later." Mark groaned back, restraining himself from rocking his hips faster.
He was right. You grabbed the bedsheets, whimpering as the feeling grew bigger and bigger.
The air was hot between you and Mark. The room was dim and you could barely make out the outline of Mark. The soft sounds of skin slapping were the background noises to you and mark's moans.
You wrapped your arms around Mark, gasping as you felt his cock moving in and out of you. "So-so full-" you gasped. Mark gritted his teeth and hissed in response.
"Li-Like that!" you suddenly let out when you felt Mark's cock brush against a sensitive spot. Mark increased his pace, hitting the spot as many times as he could, sending you into a breathing mess.
You gasped and gasped, feeling your chest rise up and down as you could barely see from the lack of light and the blinding pleasure. "Something's coming." you whimpered against Mark, rocking your hips too to meet his. "Let it go, baby." he whispered back.
You felt the feeling grow like a wave, getting bigger and bigger until-
"Mark"
It was pleasure like you never knew it. The feeling of a giant wave crashing onto you, your legs shaking and your back arching. "Mmm!" you could let out helplessly as you felt pleasure overtake you.
It stopped, leaving you panting and out of breath.
Mark pulled out. You knew what to do- you had an idea, at least. You let him insert his cock into your mouth and sucked on it. He sighed at the feeling, soon letting out a stream of a white milky liquid into your mouth.
You lied down, panting. Mark collapsed next to you on the bed. Mark spooned you, hugging you from behind. You two were too tired to exchange words, falling asleep as soon as his arms were wrapped around your body.
You woke up the next day, groggy. Mark was awake, scrolling through his phone next to you. Seeing that you are awake, he smiled.
"Mind if I get your number?"

Setting the Stage - Part 2
Here’s the next part, as promised! Last chapter was setting things up, now we get to the good stuff.
Summary: Gregory had always dreamed of going to Freddy Fazbear’s Mega Pizza Plex and meeting his heroes. But he somehow ends up getting more than he bargained for, and dreams start to turn into nightmares.
Link to Part 1 here!
Also available to read on A03 here!
Enjoy!
“How much farther now?”
Gregory flinched when those red eyes bore down on him as if to dare him to ask that question one more time.
“Not much!” Came the cheery reply, despite her glare.
An uncomfortable silence settled between them as Vanny continued to lead Gregory down an ill-lit tunnel, save for the tinny footsteps that echoed as they walked along the metal walkway.
She had said that the staff used this underpass as a quicker way of getting around the mall and that they would be at the Fazer Tag arena in no time, but they had been walking for what seemed like hours now.
A faint but vile odour of damp and rot clogged Gregory’s nose as he scrunched it up in disgust; the air was thick and soupy with wet must that seemed to stick to his lungs with every breath.
He stole a quick glance up at Vanny before immediately looking back down again in fear that she might catch his eye. She had been so excitable and nice to him before, but there was a different air about her now. More... reserved.
Turning back had crossed his mind once or twice, but given how tight her grip was, it didn’t seem like an option anymore.
He was really starting to regret this.
“Here we are!”
Gregory snapped out of his thoughts as they came up to what looked like a large elevator shaft with rusted doors that slowly creaked open when Vanny pressed a button. The boy swallowed and looked up at the bunny when she gave his hand a little squeeze.
He couldn’t tell if she was really smiling at him behind that large crooked grin, but he forced a smile back regardless.
It took a few moments but when the elevator finally started moving upwards, Gregory’s heart fluttered a little as he looked through the glass down towards the arena. It was quiet and empty, which made him wonder just how much time had really passed.
There was no sign of his mom either.
A sharp, high-pitched tone suddenly rang out as they made it to the VIP room. Gregory cringed and had to cover his ears but Vanny didn’t seem bothered at all as she silently took his hand again.
Pushing all his doubts to one side, Gregory beamed as he prepared himself to finally meet Glamrock Freddy. He had gone through a bunch of speeches in his head but they all sounded dumb as hell, so he opted for a more natural approach, not that that was going to be much better.
But there was still one thing he needed.
Just as he was about to ask Vanny to get his picture back, the doors slid open.
Gregory’s look of joy twisted into one of horror as he wasn’t greeted by Glamrock Freddy, but by four knocked out boys tied up on a sofa; the biggest one mumbling in his sleep.
Rob.
Before he could even register what was going on, Gregory was shoved to the ground with his arms forced back as Vanny dragged him towards the back.
“V-Vanny?!” The little boy yelped as she started tying his wrists together. “What are you-?!”
“Shhhhh...” she gently hummed as something sharp and metal barely pricked his throat. “I promise I’ll make this quick, okay? No need for tears, now.”
He hadn’t even noticed he’d been crying before she gently wiped the tears away with a tut-tut. The tall rabbit then set aside her knife – much to Gregory’s relief – and pulled out a small box with a familiar crescent moon on the cover.
“Told ya I’d get ‘em with Moondrop’s Sleepy-Time Candy!” she said, a hint of that cheerful tone creeping back in. “Though I’m not sure why kids would want sweets that would put them to sleep...”
“I-I thought the exact same thing...” Gregory weakly replied.
“Weird, right?”
“Totally...weird.”
He wasn’t even sure why he was having a conversation with this psycho, but desperation made him think that he could maybe appeal to her better nature.
There was a moment then, in which she appeared to be wistful as she tapped her finger against the box, almost as if she were carefully considering her next move. Gregory decided to jump at this chance.
“Please... p-please let me go.”
She stopped tapping and looked directly at him. He tried to look past those bulging crimson eyes and see her for what she actually was: a fellow human being. A person. With feelings. Like him.
With another tap, a white piece of candy dropped into the palm of her hand.
“Sorry, kiddo...”
His vision suddenly went dark as she grabbed onto his face and tried to force his mouth open. The little boy kicked, thrashed and even managed to bite her at one point. He couldn’t fight back the tears streaming down his face as she quickly managed to get the upper hand; by using hers to block the airways of his nose.
“Don’t fight it...!” She hissed. “It’ll be a lot less painful that way-!”
There was a sudden shriek as something pummeled her to the floor, and Gregory gasped for breath.
His eyes widened when they locked with Rob’s, who was lying on his side, still slightly dazed. Next to him, Vanny groaned and clutched her head.
Gregory took this fleeting moment and just about managed to slide his skinny wrists out of the loosely tied ropes before diving to Rob’s side and tried to undo the knots on his ankles first. His whole body screamed at him to run but he couldn’t just leave without trying to free the others.
“Awww...” came a sickly-sweet voice that made their blood run cold. “Are you two best buds now?”
Both boys looked up to see Vanny standing over them, her body oddly crooked as she brandished her knife.
“It’s amazing what can bring us together, huh?”
“Run!”
Rob’s shout spurred on Gregory’s legs as they propelled him forward, barely managing to dodge Vanny’s knife as she swiped at him, though she did manage to nick him on the cheek. As she tripped over Rob’s body and into the couch, Gregory used this valuable time to dash into the elevator and rapidly push the button, ignoring his guilty conscience pleading for him to go back.
As the door’s finally started closing, he mouthed “I’ll come back for you.” Though one look into Rob’s terrified eyes had told him that the older boy had already accepted his fate.
Gregory yelped and fell back as Vanny made one more plunge for him, screaming and howling in anger and despair when her knife clashed with metal as the doors sealed shut.
Stunned into silence, he could only stare ahead as the elevator slowly descended, not even flinching when that sharp chime announced his destination. The doors opened to the eerily quiet Fazer Tag arena, meaning that he must have pressed the wrong button, but that didn’t matter now.
Adrenaline was the only thing that managed to get his jellified legs to work as he managed to get himself up and out of the elevator before it was recalled.
Muffled footsteps invaded the stillness that hung around the arena like a cloak as Gregory quickly crept towards the neon archway that led to the reception desk. The little glimmer of hope that he held was dashed when he saw that it was empty.
Gregory’s heart sunk even further when he wandered out into the mall as he was greeted with nothing but a hush. The noise and laughter and music that had been blaring just hours before was painfully amiss, along with the brightness and warmth of the sun that beamed through the glass ceiling; now replaced with cold moonlight beams cutting through the dark.
“Mom...?” he couldn’t help but weakly croak out.
No answer.
“Mom!”
Despite the fact that it was likely that Vanny had heard him and was probably already tracking him down, Gregory shouted and pleaded and even screamed for his mother as he ran around the mall, each call becoming more and more desperate.
Why wasn’t she here? She should be here, kneeling and embracing him with open arms. Had she just left and forgotten about him? She wouldn’t do that. She couldn’t!
Hysterical and in tears, he somehow managed to loop back to where he had been before Vanny had taken him away. All the show rooms had their curtains drawn as the animatronics had likely been retired for the night.
Slowing to a stop in front of Glamrock Freddy’s room, Gregory sniffed and sat on the floor with his knees hugged up against his chest. He tried to take slow and deep breaths as he attempted to muddle through the fog in his brain for any kind of smart idea on how to survive through the rest of tonight.
“Gregory...”
A sharp pain jabbed up from under his ribs as he quickly got to his feet, spinning around to try and locate the source of Vanny’s voice as it echoed through the mall.
“Your friends are worried about you,” she said, tone disturbingly calm and soothing. “They’re here with me. Please come out...?”
Backing up against the drapes of Glamrock Freddy’s room, Gregory slipped behind them and into the darkness of the room, peeking through the slit for any sign of movement.
“Gregory,” she tried again. “I may have lost my temper earlier...but it was just a glitch...”
He gasped slightly as her voice started to distort, how was she even...?
“It won’t happen again.”
As soft footsteps grew closer and the shadow of a pair of tall ears materialized near the statue of Roxanne, Gregory slowly stepped back and let the gloominess of the room envelop him as he tried to control his erratic breathing.
“It’s been such a difficult day for all of us.”
Gregory could just about make out a small twinkle as her knife glinted in the moonlight.
“Why don’t you come out, and we can play a game together?”
Barely registering the stinging pain as tears ran down his face and through the small gash on his right cheek, he kept backing up until he hit something hard and metal.
“It won’t happen again.”
The little boy tried to cry out when he was suddenly yanked up by the collar of his shirt and shoved into a small, dark space. He was dazed for a moment before beads of sweat started to trail down his forehead as he felt around the four enclosed walls of his prison. It had a cold and almost plastic feel to it, and there wasn’t much room for maneuvering.
His throat felt like it was being squeezed as he choked and struggled to breathe.
“...It was just a glitch...”
She sounded so close now, the distortions in her voice seemed to reverberate through the cage he was in. He had to escape. Run away from this place. Look for a way to free Rob. Phone the police. Find his mom.
He had to get out now.
With trembling legs, Gregory tried to kick the walls down. He didn’t know what way was up or down but all he could do was kick. Kick. Kick!
“Gregory.”
Flinching at the different voice – deep as thunder but gentle like a breeze – the boy slowly ceased his kicking and let out sharp, shallow breaths.
W-was this...? It couldn’t be...
“Be still.”
A beat of silence followed.
“I think she’s found us.”
Gregory held his breath when he heard the curtains swing open and a flick of the switch as the lights buzzed to life. He could hear Vanny moving about the room, pausing every so often to look behind the arcade or the sofa. There was even a brief moment where he swore she had found him when he heard heavy breathing dead ahead. He grimaced as a light tapping of metal upon metal suddenly rung out within the hollow space.
Vanny made a sound of frustration before storming out, but Gregory didn’t dare breathe before he was sure she was gone.
He was probably starting to become blue in the face before his prison suddenly opened up. Without a moment’s hesitation, he tumbled out and landed ungracefully on his face, but he didn’t really care at this point. He was just glad to be out of the void.
There was a soft “Oh!” behind him before a pair of large metal hands carefully lifted him up from under the arms and held him steady. Staring ahead at a large blue lightning bolt upon a light brown chest, Gregory’s wide eyes slowly trailed up to see Glamrock Freddy staring right back down at him.
“Are you okay?” The animatronic asked.
The boy tried to swallow but his throat had dried up.
“I apologize for acting so abruptly,” he continued, taking off his hat and sheepishly shuffled it between his hands. “I didn’t know any other way to get you to safety before she came. But I didn’t mean to be quite so rough.”
“It’s...okay...” Gregory managed to rasp out, still not quite believing he was talking to the Glamrock Freddy. He would have been ecstatic if not for the dire situation.
“Thanks for...um...s-saving my life.”
The bear seemed to brighten up a bit at that as he put his hat back on and held out a hand.
“Well, it’s very nice to meet you, Gregory! I do wish we could have met under more...pleasant circumstances but here we are. My name is-”
“Glamrock Freddy, I know,” he interrupted, before quickly adding, “I’m...a big fan.”
Timidly, the boy took the robot’s hand, almost yelping when it was shaken rather vigorously.
“Always a pleasure to meet a fan!”
Vaguely reminded of when he met Vanny, Gregory berated himself for being so immediately trusting. But...this was Freddy. Surely the robots weren’t kidnapping kids too?
His eyes wandered up towards the chest compartment that he had been in just moments before. It was...quite an oddly specific function to have.
“How uh...how do you know my name?” Gregory asked, pulling his hand away a bit too quickly, though Freddy didn’t seem to mind.
“She was calling out for you.”
Alright. That was fair.
“Oh! And you also left this behind,” the robot said as he pulled out a piece of paper, smoothing out the creases before handing it over. “One of the stewards found it and brought it to me. It has your signature.”
Gregory took it and stared down at the colorful picture, snorting a little when he recognized it as his own. He should have known that those compliments from Vanny had been nothing but empty, honeyed words just to lure him into her trap. His own mother had warned him about such types of people.
The boy almost smiled at how downright stupid he was.
“I really like the cape,” Freddy suddenly said, making him wince. “The colors are so vibrant!”
Gregory wanted to thank him for stating the obvious but couldn’t find it in him to do so. Hours ago he would have been on cloud nine hearing such praise from his hero. Now they just seemed so...hollow and meaningless.
He frowned at the picture for a few more moments before something sharp poked him on the cheek, causing him to hiss in pain and scoot back.
Freddy also recoiled and withdrew his hand, looking guilty at having hurt the boy.
“You’re bleeding...”
Absently putting a hand to his cheek, he felt the wound that Vanny had inflicted on him earlier, and scowled when his fingers came back wet with fresh blood.
“Come with me.”
Gregory blinked in shock as the robot stood up to his full height and towered over him, realizing that he barely made it past his knee joint. He couldn’t help but feel just a tad bit intimidated.
Moving towards the back of the room, Freddy opened the metal door behind the stage curtains and made his way in. Suddenly feeling nervous at the prospect of being left alone, Gregory got up from the floor and hastily followed.
He was hit with that musty stench from the underground tunnels again, though here it wasn’t quite so strong. It was a basic room with a red carpet and brick and mortar walls with a few chairs and what seemed to be some kind of charging station – most likely for Freddy.
Gregory watched as the animatronic pulled out a red and white box from a cabinet and carried it over, opening it to reveal medical contents.
“This will sting,” Freddy stated as he knelt down and held out an antiseptic wipe. “Can you be brave?”
“I’m not five,” Gregory mumbled back, trying not to wince when the gash started to sting.
“How old are you then? If you don’t mind my asking.”
The boy narrowed his eyes slightly, still wondering if he should even be here instead of running for the hills. Though clearly that hadn’t exactly worked out the first time.
“...Eleven,” he eventually answered.
“Hm,” the bear hummed, as if mulling over something. “You’re very mature for your age.”
“T-Thanks.”
He wasn’t really sure if he was so mature as he had just been running around screaming and crying for his mother like a lost fawn while a psychopath was on the loose just ten minutes ago, but he didn’t argue.
“There, and we’re done!” Freddy said as he smoothed a band-aid over Gregory’s wound. “How does that feel?”
“Better, thanks,” the boy replied as he lightly touched it. “And thanks again for saving my life back there. If you hadn’t, she...she would have...”
His chest tightened up a little. Freddy refused to meet his eyes as he put the box away.
“Do...do you know her?” Gregory asked. “Her name’s Vanny and-”
“No,” Freddy cut in. “I have scanned her, and she does not come up on my database. She is not staff.”
It was that sentence that starkly reminded Gregory that he was really talking to a walking, talking machine. And that took a little bit of the magic away for him...
“Yet she has access to all areas of the complex,” Freddy continued, tilting his head with an almost baffled look. “It has confused myself and the others; her skulking everywhere.”
“The others?”
“Chica, Roxanne and Montgomery.”
“Monty,” Gregory corrected.
“Hm?”
“You call him Monty in the show.”
“Ah. Yes.”
Gregory frowned a little.
“But alas, we cannot do anything about her.”
“What uh...what do you mean?” Gregory asked, suddenly feeling his blood run a bit cold.
“It goes against our programming,” Freddy bluntly replied. “We cannot harm adults.”
“You can’t...ah...” was all he could say. That just pretty much blew all of his plans out of the water.
“We tried to warn the other staff members but they wouldn’t listen, and they had the gall to complain about fixing our mainframes-”
Freddy’s ramblings just turned into white noise as Gregory stared ahead; all those cool montages of him riding in the animatronic’s chest while he kicked Vanny’s ass and rescued Rob and the others was slowly becoming less and less likely.
It was only when a metal pair of fingers snapped in front of him that brought him crashing back down to reality.
“But...!” Gregory stammered as he tried to come up with a more plausible plan. “But even if you can’t hurt her, can’t you just carry me to the front door or something?”
“Gregory-”
“Or just take me to a phone so I can call the police! You know she’s kidnapped other kids, right?”
Freddy held up his hands in an attempt to calm him down. “I did not. But-”
“Rob’s the reason I even managed to get away, we have to go help him...!”
“Gregory.”
A heavy weight on his shoulders and Freddy’s tone finally got him to shut his mouth.
“I wish I could do all those things for you, but the fact of the matter is...I can’t.”
The boy raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“Myself and the others are confined to our rooms at night.”
“I’m...I’m sorry, confined? By what? The curtains?”
“Security protocols.”
“But I saw you wander around earlier!”
“We are allowed to during the day, but at night our security protocols-”
“I don’t care about your security whatever!” Gregory blurted out as quietly as he could. “There is a psycho dressed as a freaking rabbit out there who is trying to kill me right now!”
He tried to push away the hands on his shoulders but was unable to as Freddy looked down upon with a sympathetic frown – one that was strikingly akin to his mom’s.
“And she’s taken these other kids hostage a-and now I have to rescue them or she’ll kill them and I just...I just want...”
His vision suddenly blurred, and he struggled to hold the tears back as he furiously wiped them away, angry at himself for getting so worked up.
Gregory’s breath hitched when he felt himself being gently pressed up against Freddy’s chest, with one hand on his head and the other on his back, steadying him. He had seen the other kids getting hugs from the animatronics before, and while he had been envious, he couldn’t help but imagine it feeling cold and a little uncomfortable.
But it was nothing like that; instead, it was warm and inviting, and it was enough to open the floodgates for Gregory as he clung onto the robot.
“I just...want...my mom...”
They stayed like that for a while, with Gregory quietly sobbing as Freddy tried to console him, rubbing small circles along his back in a soothing motion and gently patting his head as the boy eventually managed to get it all out of his system.
“Gregory,” Freddy started, making him look up as he wiped his nose. “While it may go against my programming...” the animatronic paused for a moment before smiling down at him. “I will do my best to override it.”
“Really? You mean you’ll help me?”
“Yes. I will assist you in evading that ‘psycho’, as you put it – and get you out. To the best of my ability.”
Gregory smiled back, before adding, “And the others too? I can’t leave without them.”
“The... others too,” the bear reluctantly agreed.
Wiping away the last of his tears, he nodded gratefully, perking up when Freddy opened up his chest apartment and offered his hand as a step.
Climbing up and settling in, what had felt like a claustrophobic prison now felt like a safe haven from the dangers that awaited him out there.
“Oh, before I forget,” Freddy mulled as he re-entered the show room, bending down to pick up Gregory’s drawing. “Would you like to do the honors?”
Grinning from ear to ear, he leaned out and took the drawing and a small pin from Freddy, the robot keeping him steady as he stuck the drawing up with the others. He could feel himself swell up with pride in a fleeting moment that made him forget about the horrors that awaited him.
“Now,” Freddy started as he closed his chest compartment and peeked through the curtains to check if the coast was clear. “We may need some help. How would you like to meet the others?”
xxx
A wash of light flooded across the polished checkered floors and shone up towards the golden statue of Freddy as a woman entered through the security barriers. Brushing back her golden hair and securing her cap on, she sighed as she pulled out a photograph of a young boy with messy brown hair and a huge toothy grin.
His mother had been hysterical when she entered the security office, claiming that it had been her fault for leaving him and thinking that he wouldn’t just wander off. They had looked through the camera feed but given how busy this place was during the day, it was a needle in a haystack situation.
But now that it was empty, her job would begin. She had six hours.
“Alright Gregory...” Vanessa said, putting the photo into her pocket. “Let’s see if we can find you.”
xxx
And that’s the end! I’ve decided to leave the ending a bit vague because of the whole Vanny/Vanessa debate. I’d love to write more at this point but I’ll probably wait until the game comes out (hopefully soon!) Hope you enjoyed and let me know if you did!

Tumblr media
The fresh scent of pastry filled the air of your apartment, its sweetness seemingly undertoning a leisurable afternoon tea time, yet your mind is on something else.
You take a sip of your freshly brewed black tea, feeling the aroma and warmth coating the inner sides of your mouth, while relishing the sight of the sinful image on the bed. Xiaojun's hands are secured to either side of the bedpost, with his neck adorned in an elegant lacy black collar, back leaning against the headboard, eyes glossy with desperation as the vibrating ring is doing sins to his still fully clothed erection.
"Pathetic." You remark with a smirk, before drinking a mouthful of the warm liquid again.
Urgent babbles of plead and your title began to roll off Xiaojun's tongue like a mantra, demanding release. You simper seductively while approaching him, dipping your fingers in the glass of iced water settled on the bedside drawer long enough before climbing on the bed to straddle him.
You exhale a warm gust of air on his exposed cleavage before trailing it with your icy fingers, then shove them under the black fabric to tease his left nipple. As Xiaojun tenses up against the cold sensation, you unbutton more of his shirt and force it open even wider, starting to flick his right nipple with your still hot tongue, and watch the ethereal blonde crumble against the contrasting stimulation with gleeful contentment.
“You taste so good little cupcake…” You coo as you suck the sensitive bud between your hot damp lips, moaning on it as your cold fingertips tweak the other, causing him to let out delicious whimpers. “Fuck, keep making sounds like that and I’m going to devour you…”
Xiaojun bites his plump lips to stifle the erotic noises in response, failing to notice he only looks extra alluring doing so. “Such a tease…” You cradle his cheek with your hand, admiring the artwork lovingly, then reach for the glass on the drawer again.
"This is a little reminder that you shouldn't be fucking with my mind or I will fucking torture you…" You smirk as you slide a small ice cube on his clavicle area, then go up to his neck, lightly tracing it circumferentially in search of the most sensitive spots, eventually tucking the freezing cuboid under his collar after locating one.
“You like this, hmm? Getting all wet and wrecked...” You deliberately breathed near the cube, causing more liquid to trickle down Xiaojun’s neck, which feels like tendrils of electricity twining around and gradually taking over his body to him. “Do you want this nasty little thing to get in between us, or you want my mouth on you instead?”
“Please Miss...use your mouth…” The bitter cold temperature on his skin along with the teasingly slow vibrations on his cock both make him crave your touch, or anything directly from you even more.
“As expected, “ You pull on the collar to remove the ice underneath, making sure to make the lacy fabric slap against him upon release. “but not quite…” You chuckle as you glide the melting substance down his chest, watching him whimper and attempt to steer his torso away from the torment, but to no avail because of the restraints.
"Ooh looks like my poor baby is suffering...let me warm you up a little…" You mock while trailing your tongue down his previously cooled down regions, as you wickedly work the cube around his areola, triumph overflowing inside you as Xiaojun lets out incoherent breathy moans with his eyes closed, then a much louder one erupts from him as you suddenly suck hard on his flesh as you press the devilish thing right on the most sensitive bud.
"So easily fucked out, aren't you?" You seductively whisper and nip at his earlobe. "Can't even handle a bit teasing...how am I supposed to enjoy my little dessert if you mess yourself up too soon?" You begin to ruthlessly torture his other nipple with the residue of the cube.
"Ahhh...please Miss I've been good! Please stop teasing me...please…"
"Why should I rush? That's not the way how you savor gourmet desserts baby boy…"
  "No, please...just do it already...please Miss I want you…"
“Hmm... I’m not sure what you mean by that. You have to ditch the euphemism and tell me directly what you want little thing…”
Xiaojun blushes, both from arousal and embarrassment. “I want your mouth or...that sweet warm cavern ...on me...my…”
“On which part of you? Hmm?” You darkly chuckle as you grind on him, pretending not to know what he actually means.
“Ahhh.. my... cock! Please, it hurts so much without you. Please fuck me already…”
“Really? I thought you want me to touch you tease you feel you up…” You taunt as you switch up the vibrations to the medium setting, making the poor boy gasp and jolt underneath you.
“No-ahh! You can do whatever you want...just don’t tease me anymore…mmfff”
“Whatever, huh? Be careful what you wish for my little plaything…” You turn the ring to the highest setting before completely open up his shirt, kissing and licking down his happy trail as you tug the waistbands of both his trousers and boxers, allowing some cool air to get in contact with his bare throbbing length, rendering him into a whimpering squirming mess.
"Awww looks like my slutty sweetie is impatient to get ravished. But you know, the crust must be tasted first before getting to the filling inside…"
Your lips linger at his pelvic region, blinking up at him and smirking provocatively with fingers still fondling and groping his clothed neediness despite Xiaojun's pleads. The feeling that how his undergarments are held up open, so teasingly close to some release, yet still denied by you, is driving Xiaojun insane.
"Please Miss I’m really begging you...mmm...my pathetic cock wants your direct touch…"
"That's my good boy who knows his place." You sit up, satisfied with his self-degradation, caressing his abdomen as you finally remove his trousers, revealing the white briefs with black bolded "All You Can Eat" printed on the crotch area that you gave him as a gift. One more sinful thing added to the image is the way how his pre-cum has stained the thin briefs to make it slightly transparent, his twitching cock visible underneath.
"Fuck…" You groan as you wrap your lips around his shaft, before pushing the clothing to the side, making his reddish leaking cock spring free under relentless vibrations.
“So beautiful and delicious…" You hum between sensual glossal movements around his pulsating heat. "If this is what I get for not eating the marshmallow too soon, I will definitely wait until this sweetness brew into its full bloom every time…" You brush messily along his shaft with slightly parted lips, making sure to taste every part of him as he erotically squirms and whimpers underneath, voice laced with some gratification now that he's finally allowed some light release.
Xiaojun's blissful moment of relief doesn't last long as it's soon interrupted by a ding echoing in your room. You shoot him a suggestive glance warning him to stay in his place, before getting up to retrieve the nectarous addition to your play.
You soon return to him with a white chocolate molten lava cake, before pressing a spoon into the exterior while smirking at how his stare is fixed on the buttery liquid oozing out of the collapsing cake.
"Let's add some sweet dressing to this delicate confection, shall we?" You hum while ridding him of all undergarments, before tilting the platter, allowing the cream to trickle down from his clavicle all the way down to pubic region, the resemblance of its color to something sinful is almost too titillating for you to handle.
"I can promise that your body is gonna be stained with your own cum exactly like this." You dab the tip of your tongue on a droplet of the melted chocolate on his chest. "But it's after I finish this enticing meal…"
  "Please don't take too long…"
"Aww this is not for you to decide, pretty boy." You condescendingly reply as you turn off the vibrating ring. "Stay still and obediently let me eat you up at my own pace, and I might consider granting you release sooner."
You hover your body over him, sensually twirling your tongue on all the spots you know that would drive him crazy from your experience, while lapping, nipping on the sweetness and tasting the texture of his skin.
You feel your throat go dry because of your burning desires as well as the sticky substance you just consumed. “Get a taste of yourself.” You hum while sloppily twirling your tongue with his, feeling his eager wetness wrapped against you as his head pressed harder toward you, signaling for more contact. Noticing this, you slowly envelop your hand around his throbbing length, jerking it up and down smoothly and sensually, earning teary whines from him in response.
Soon Xiaojun’s frustration became evident as his hips bucked desperately against you. “Hot and bothered and all mine, how cute.” You slapped the side of his bottom as a warning for him to stay still though you loved the sinful sight so much. “No use trying to seduce me like that,” You got off from his body to prepare for subsequent bliss that drove your mind slightly hazy even just by thinking about it. “this would only get you punished even harder…”
“Punish me then, Miss...take all that is yours…” Xiaojun’s dick twitched from the sight of you opening the wrapper of the condom, legs parted even wider.
“Really? I thought you so hate to be controlled…but look at you now acting like a little slut at the mere thought of me fucking you hmm?”
“I am not-ahh!” Xiaojun’s retort was interrupted by another sharp slap across his bottom.
“Stop faking because all you seem to enjoy now is to live as my personal favorite snack supply.” You triumphantly glared at him while pressing sloppy kisses against his chocolate-stained skin, all the way from his neck to pelvis while sheathing and lubricating his sensitive flesh, tongue relentlessly flicking around the base of his cock.
“Please Mistress… I can’t hold it in anymore...please fuck me already pleeaaase…” You know this plead is for real because being the collected person Xiaojun usually is, he must be nearing his edge to beg so blatantly like this, but you were enjoying his suffering too much to give him the release he craved.
“Poor boy...but I would like to add more seasoning before I finally devour you.” You smirk as you pour spoonfuls of the white chocolate residue on his body again, savoring the arousing sight before proceeding to undress and position yourself on his cock, watching him tremble and gasp under every contact between you.
You steadily began to bounce on him, leaning down to press wet kisses on his lips and whisper more nasty compliments to him just to make him blush even more, his gorgeous features forming an epitome of orgasmic bliss as you pick up your pace. He looked so ethereal and fairylike, that incited the devilish desire burning inside you to ruin and corrupt. You want you to be the single center of his attention, the only thing that matters to him at this very moment. You want you to be the last and only thing he sees before he gets completely engulfed and submerged under the pleasure you are giving him.
“I just can’t get enough of you, sweet boy.” You softly coo as you press even closer to him, lapping up some sweet fluids before intruding his mouth with your tongue, your fingers tangled in his hair, as you savored the way how he rocked his hips and moaned against you, as well as the loud snaps and squelching noises of your hips slamming against each other.
You then coo how much of a good boy he is as you untie him, and the way he quickly wrapped you into a tight embrace as soon as he was freed made your heart flutter. Soaking your fingers with the sauce on his body, you insert them into his mouth as he sucked on them eagerly from time to time in between sensual sloppy kisses. You lost track of how much time your lips and tongues were entwined, the sweet texture of chocolate lubricating and heating up the passion among you, gradually pushing you both to climax.
You then slowly rode him out of his orgasm, relishing the enticing afterglow as your heartbeat gradually dropped back to its normal pace. After burying your face into the crook of his neck to catch your breath, you intended to get up to clear away the mess, yet Xiaojun’s embrace hindered you from going anywhere.
  “What?” You chided playfully.
“Miss I am so exhausted because of you...you were so cruel…”
“Only I get to decide when you could cum, sweetie.” You simpered while ruffling his hair with your other hand cradling his cheek. “You are just so beautiful eyes glossy and totally messed up, I can’t help but torture you until-”
“Stop!” Xiaojun slapped your arm while rolling away from you giggling.
“Hmm be in denial like this, next time I shall get some whipped cream on this cherry core-” You began as you reached for his nipple.
“Ahhhh no!” Xiaojun exclaimed as he smacked your devilish hand away.
“But you do enjoy being my personal snack for me to devour, don’t you baby?” You lowered your voice with your hot breath near his earlobe, then giggled as he blushed crimson red once again.
Xiaojun was totally clinging on you as you finally managed to drag him to the shower room, streams of warm water massaging both of your sore erogenous core as another current of amorous electricity washed over you, as he became noticeably hard again.
"I thought you said you were exhausted?" You narrowed your eyes mischievously, as he just sheepishly avoided your gaze while biting on his lip.
“Round two?” You gently run your hand up and down along his torso, noticing his ever so slight nod.
“This time, I will be much softer on you, my sweet little treat.”

Take it Slow - Part Thirty-One
a/n: okay this is my first shot at a harry:y/n fic, and it will be multiple parts. y/n had a bad experience with an ex over a year ago, and finally accepts her coworker and good friend Niall’s invitation to go on a blind date with his friend Harry.
Warnings: Fluff.
Masterpost (all previous parts can be found in the masterpost)
You and Harry agreed he would move in after you got back from England. You spent most of the week helping him pack up some of the easier things he didn’t need every day. That way you wouldn’t have to do much when you got back.
You rummaged through your closet pulling out as many options for outfits you thought you’d need for your trip. You had one really big luggage bag you’d be able to get most of everything into. You decided to use your backpack as a carryon. You kept your travel toothbrush and a spare pair of clothes in there. Harry had a large luggage bag and a backpack as well.
“Think you have everything ya need? We gotta get up pretty early tomorrow.” He asks, sipping on his coffee Friday morning.
“Yup! Everything’ll be good to go. I’m leaving work around three today too. I’m hoping to go to bed early.”
“Same here. We’ll need to be up at like three in the morning, order the uber and all that. International security takes a little bit longer. Got your passport?”
“Yes, it’s on my dresser ready to go.”
“Perfect.” He kisses you on the cheek. You look down at your watch.
“Well, I better go to work. See you this afternoon.” You kiss him goodbye, and head out the door.
You were thankful it wasn’t snowing, and there were no storms in the forecast. Sarah and Rachel agreed to help take turns watching your place while you were gone, and you were so grateful for them. Niall was only working a half day today. He was taking a red eye to Ireland that night.
“Excited?” He asks, coming into your office.
“So excited! It’s going to be so much fun.”
“Won’t be weird celebrating Christmas?”
“Not at all! I’m excited to see what traditions his family has.”
“It’s quaint, quiet. Very cozy.”
“Nice change of pace from my family.”
Niall makes sure to hug you before he leaves. You wish each other safe flights. The clock moves agonizingly slow. You just want to get home to Harry. He was smart enough to just take all of Friday off. When it finally hit 2:50, you dipped out.
When you got home, Harry was making some lunch. You loved your little chef so much.
“Whatcha making?” You ask kissing him on the cheek.
“PB and J’s, sound good?”
“Sounds perfect, thank you.”
You both sit on the couch with your sandwiches, and watch a little TV.
“How was work?”
“So boring, half the office wasn’t there. Niall left at like noon, so the rest of the day just dragged on. Happy I’m home now.”
“Doesn’t your work usually have like a holiday party or somethin’?”
“Yeah, they usually do it at the end of January. It’s a lot of fun, they have it at this hotel with a big ballroom. Open bar too.”
“That’ll be fun.” He smiles. “I secretly love staying in hotels. Feels like a mini holiday.”
“We’re staying in a hotel when we go to London?”
“Actually, we’re staying at my flat.” You give him a confused look.
“You…have your own place in London?”
“I sublet it. I had done a lot work there a few years ago when I was traveling. I took the opportunity to make some money. I mostly use it on Air BnB. It’s nice to have the few times I go home. Since there are a few weeks I go home in the summer, it was just more cost effective to have my own place.”
“How do you run an Air BnB if you’re not there?”
“My sister lives in London too, so I give her a cut to help take care of things.”
“Oh nice! I’m really excited to meet her, and your mum.”
“They’re excited too.”
//
Your alarm goes off a little after two in the morning. You wipe away the sleep from your eyes, and take a really quick shower. You put on some leggings and a sweatshirt. Harry has a pair of sweats on as well, and a long sleeve shirt. You both wheel your luggage down, and he puts it into the uber. You hold his hand the entire way to the airport.
He prints both of your tickets, and sets your luggage up to be checked. He hands you your ticket, and your eyes pop out of your head.
“Harry?” You tug on his jacket.
“Yeah, love?”
“Why does this say first class? I only paid you for a commercial flight.”
“I always fly first class on these long flights. Trust me, it’s worth it.”
“But Harry…this is too expensive.”
“I had the miles babe, it’s not a big deal. C’mon, we need to go through security.”
You both get through security quickly, and head to your gate to wait. You wanted to be mad at him. You really didn’t like when he would pull these fast moves over you. When he puts his arm around you, and pulls you closer to him, you forget you’re upset. You’re too tired to even care at this point. You rest your head on his shoulder.
“What time will we get there?”
“Let’s see, if we actually take off at six? We’ll get there about eleven.”
“That’s good, we’ll still practically have the whole day.”
“Yup. I’m rentin’ a car for us too. That way we can scoot in and out when we like.”
“You think of everything, don’t you?” He chuckles.
Your flight is ready to board, and your jaw drops at the nice seats. You had never done something so extravagant.
“You want the window seat, love?” He asks, putting a carry on overhead.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. If I sit on the aisle, I can stretch my legs out easier.” You kiss him on the cheek and sit down.
You remember the dream you had a few weeks ago of being married and pregnant, traveling with Harry. Your mind wandered to how often you may end up taking this trip with him.
A stewardess comes around with hot towels and mimosas making you giggle. You buckle yourself in, and watch as Harry takes his glasses and a new book out. You take your headphones out, and plug them into the jack in the arm rest. He watches you scroll the countless movies and television shows available.
“Oh hell yeah.”
“What?”
“They have HBO on here, I can finally watch the second season of Big Little Lies.”
“You’re going to watch the whole season on this flight?”
“Probably, I am a pro at binging, or did you forget?” Harry giggles.
The flight attendants go through the safety procedures, and prepare for takeoff. You hold Harry’s hand as you take off. You switch your screen to see what music was available.
“Thought you were goin’ t’watch TV, love.”
“I will in a little while. I feel like I’m gonna drift off, and I don’t wanna miss anything. Think I’m just going to listen to music for a little while.” You smile. He takes your hand and kisses it.
“Here, I’ll grab you a blanket.” He moves to put his hand up to ask for one, but you stop him.
“Brought my own.” You reach for your backpack, and take out your baby blankets. You drape one over your legs, and keep the other bunched up at your stomach to hold onto.
“Never seen those before.”
“I keep them in a box under my bed for safe keeping. They’re not in the best shape, but I don’t like traveling long distance without them. They’re for comfort. I brought a small blanket for you too.” You pull out a fleece blanket and put it in his lap.
“Thanks. Had ‘em for a long time?”
“Yup, they’re my, um, baby blankets.” He smiles at you. “What?” Your cheeks heat up with embarrassment.
“Every time I think you couldn’t possibly get cuter, you go and do somethin’ like this.” He kisses your cheek. “Ya comfy, baby girl?” You smile.
“Very.”
You put your ear buds in and scroll through the music options. You settle on The Weeknd, and put it on shuffle. You take out your neck pillow, and get even more comfortable. You close your eyes and sigh quietly. Harry smirks at your music choice, unsure of how you could fall asleep to that kind of music, but he doesn’t question you on it.
He dives into his book, and slowly feels his eyes start to droop. Just as he feels like he’s going to fall asleep, a stewardess comes up to him.
“Sir, would you like anything to drink?”
“Coffee would be great love, and a couple of waters. She’ll be thirsty when she wakes up.”
“Of course.” She hands him the drinks and he puts them in the cup holders. “Here are the papers to fill out for your meals later. If you just want to leave them in the pocket when you’re done, I’ll come ‘round to pick ‘em up.”
“Sure thing, thanks.”
Harry looks over at you, and you look completely passed out. Your face was slightly scrunched, the way you always looked when you were having a dream. You made a slightly distressed noise.
“Oh no.” Harry knew you well enough to know by now that you were most likely having a bad dream, if not a nightmare.
He gently strokes your cheek to try to soothe you. Your breathing steadies, and a slight smile forms on your lips. Your eyes flutter open, and you look over to him through your lashes.
“Ya alright?” He coos.
“Can we snuggle?” You say still half asleep.
“Mhm.”
Harry puts your tray table down so he can stick the drinks on there. Then he lifts up the arm rest so you can scoot closer to him. He puts an arm around you while you nuzzle into his chest. He puts his book in his lap, and drifts off into sleep with you.
You wake up a couple of hours later with your head in Harry’s lap. He was watching TV, nibbling on some potato chips. His other hand was stroking the top of your head. You sit up slowly, and kiss him on the cheek.
“Hey, sleepy head.” You giggle.
“Hi.” You stretch. “Think I’m gonna use the bathroom.” He gets up so you can get out. The bathrooms were much nicer in first class.
When you sit back down you guzzle down the water he had gotten for you earlier. He passes you a small bag of chips.
“Got you a bag of crisps. Should be comin’ ‘round with a meal soon.”
“Crisps?” You giggle. “You’re going full Brit on me this week?”
“Very funny.” He sticks his tongue out at you.
About a half hour later, the stewardess comes around with two continental breakfasts. Harry passes you yours.
“You ordered kosher meals?”
“Yeah, they have to make ‘em fresh.”
“Smart.”
“Only a couple more hours now.” He gives your hand a squeeze.
You and Harry watch the same movie for the remainder of the flight. When you get off the plane you both use the bathroom. You brush your teeth and change into some jeans and a nicer top. You wanted to make a good first impression. Harry changed into some jeans as well. He grabs your luggage, and leads you to the rental car area.
Once you both are settled, you get into the car, accidentally opening the driver’s side, and laughing when you see the steering wheel.
“Wrong side, love.”
“Whoops! I’m all turned around.” You get in on the correct side. “Harry?”
“Yeah?”
“Am I allowed to drive here?” He chuckles.
“Course.”
“Would you let me try it out at some point during the week? It’ll be cool to say I drove on the opposite side of the road.”
“We can definitely do that. We’ll find a nice parking lot for ya to practice in.”
You gaze out the window as you take in the sights around you. He steals glances of your reactions, and smiles to himself. About an hour and half later, you come close to where his mother lives. He takes his phone out to call her.
“Hi mum, yeah, we’re about twenty minutes away. Sorry, I forgot to call when we landed. Airport was hectic. Alright, see ya soon.” He puts his phone back down. “She’s got a nice lunch ready for us, you’ll love it.”
“I can’t wait.”
Harry pulls up to a small/medium sized house.
“This is beautiful.”
“S’not where I grew up. Mum moved here once I went to uni. Still feels like home though.” He takes the luggage out of the trunk, and you both wheel them up the walkway. Harry opens the door. You both take your shoes off, and leave the luggage in the front hall.
“Harry?! That you?” Anne peaks out through the kitchen. “My baby!” She runs over to him, and gives him a big hug and kiss.
“Hi mum.” He smiles. “Mum, this is my girlfriend, Y/N.” You smile shyly.
“Hello, love.” She gives you a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “It’s so nice to finally meet you.”
“Same to you, you have a lovely home.”
“Oh thanks, Harry, your sister should be here any minute. If you want the larger bedroom, I suggest you bring your things upstairs.” She looks at you. “Y/N, come to the kitchen with me while Harry does the heavy liftin’” She winks at you.
You follow her to the kitchen and see a spread of salad fixings and bread.
“Can I get you anythin’ to drink?”
“Just some water would be great, thank you.” She gets a glass and fills it with water for you. You smile as you take it.
“So, you’re the beautiful young lady my son keeps gushing about?” You blush. “He calls me once a week you know? Part of our rule for him not livin’ here anymore. He speaks so fondly of you, dear.”
“That’s sweet of you to say.” You wondered when Harry actually called his mother, because he never did it around you. Maybe when he was at work?
“I didn’t think he would ever meet someone he really loved, let alone liked.” She laughs. Harry walks back in, and sits down at the island with you.
“Oi, I hear ya talkin’, nice things to say about your only son.”
“Sorry Harry, you know how you are.” She grabs two plates. “Please, make up your plates, no need to wait for Gem, you both look famished from the flight.”
You each pile up your plates with salad. You hear someone come in through the door.
“Harry!” Gemma exclaims. He puts his plate down to give his older sister a hug.
“This is m’girlfriend, Y/N.”
“So great to meet you.” She gives you a hug. “Heard wonderful things. Don’t know why you’d wanna give this idiot the time of day, but I suppose someone had to.” She rustles Harry’s hair.
You enjoyed your lunch with the group, it was nice to see Harry interact with his family. They asked you all sorts of questions about your work and family. You listened to stories about Harry and Gemma when they were younger.
“Gem, is your boyfriend comin’ over on Christmas?” Harry asks.
“No, he’s on business right now. I’ll be leavin’ here after we do gifts to meet up with him.”
You were excited to give Harry’s mom and sister the small gifts you had picked up a couple of weeks ago. You also couldn’t wait to see the look on Harry’s face when he opens the box for the watch he’s been wanting.
“So, Y/N, does your family do anything for Christmas?” Anne asks.
“When we were younger we would wait until Christmas to do all of our Hanukkah gifts. And it was an easy day for our whole family to get together. But once we all got older and moved out, we stopped getting together. My brother and sister both have non-jewish significant others, so they spend the day with their families. We usually get together for one of the days during Hanukkah.”
“I saw some of the pictures on Facebook, can’t believe you got Harry to sit on your uncle’s knee, wish I could’ve seen that.” Gemma laughs.
“I’ll have you know, it was an initiation into her family.” He sticks his tongue out at her.
“Harry, I was thinkin’ we could all go out to eat tonight since we’ll be cookin’ a bunch tomorrow and the day after.” Anne says.
“Sounds good to me, can we go to that curry place?”
“Definitely.”
“We’ve talked your ears off, why don’t you kids go unpack a bit and relax.”
You, Harry, and Gemma all head upstairs.
“Took the bedroom with the ensuite by the way.” Harry smirks. “Snooze ya lose.” She rolls her eyes at him.
“Happy to give you two your privacy.”  You giggle and go into the room with Harry. He closes the door.
“Are you allowed to have the door closed when you have a girl in here?”
“Think it’ll be fine as long as m’sister doesn’t rat us out.” He kisses the top of your head.
You unpack your bathroom toiletries, and some of the clothes you plan to wear while in Anne’s house. Harry lays back on the bed, and waits for you to finish. You sit down next to him.
“This is a nice room. Does she often have guests?”
“Sometimes. Gem comes to visit every other weekend.”
“You’re good children.”
“My mum did a lot for us growin’ up.”
“Is your dad in the picture at all?”
“Oh sure, saw him just about every weekend growin’ up. He lives far from here now, so we won’t see him. But I plan to give him a call on Christmas.”
“Didn’t you say you had a stepdad?”
“I do..did. He passed away not too long ago.”
“Oh, I’m sorry.”
“S’alright, he was a great guy.”
“I don’t wanna fall asleep. I’m nervous I won’t be able to sleep tonight if we nap.”
“Wanna go for a walk? I can show ya the neighborhood.”
“That’d be great.”
“It’s a bit chilly, so we’ll need to bundle up.”
You leave the room. Harry knocks on Gemma’s door, and invites her to come along. The three of you tell Anne you’ll be back soon. The two point out different homes to you. The architecture was exquisite.
“Have ya ever been to England before?”
“No, it’s my first time.”
“Oh how excitin’!”
“She’s been to the Middle East though, Israel.” Harry chimes in.
“Holy shit! That’s so cool. When’d you do that?”
“My senior year of college, I went on a birthright trip.”
Gemma asks you all sorts of questions about the trip, and you show her a few photos on your phone. You liked Gemma, she was nice and friendly. Her and Harry also seemed pretty close. It reminded you of how you were with your brother. But Harry and Gemma acted more like best friends, probably since they’re so close in age.
//
The restaurant Anne took you to was perfect. It was nice, but not too fancy. You greatly enjoyed watching her scold Harry and Gemma for offering to pay. When you all get back to the house you decide to play a card game before bed. You and Harry turn in early since you both were still tired from all the traveling.
You do your nightly routine, and put on a t-shirt and pajama pants. Harry slides into bed with just a pair of boxers on. He raises an eyebrow at you as you join him in the comfy bed.
“You’re awfully covered up.”
“I didn’t know how cold it would be, plus I didn’t want you thinking we were going to get into any funny business at your mother’s house.”
“So I’m not going to see an ounce of your skin for the next three days?”
“You can see plenty of my skin.” You hold your arm out to him and giggle. “You know I’m lucky me neck has completely healed up.”
“That’ll change once we’re in London, same goes for the rest of ya.” He kisses you on the lips, and turns over.
You wrap yourself around him to spoon him, a leg going between his. You both sigh and fall asleep pretty easily.
//
The next morning you and Harry get up to take a shower. You shower together, but no funny business. Other than a few soft kisses, of course. You dry your hair, and put on a pair of jeans and a sweater. Harry does the same. You both go downstairs and see that Anne and Gemma have put together a small breakfast of beans on toast.
“Um, do you we have any plain toast?” Harry asks.
“Of course! We also have jam and butter.” Anne says. “I was thinkin’ we could all decorate the Christmas tree after breakfast. Y/N, would you feel comfortable in helpin’?”
“Sure! I’d be happy to.”
After breakfast you all go into the living room to decorate the tree. Harry and Gemma reminisce over different ornaments from their childhood. You help put different lights around the tree, and Harry plugs it in.
“Oh that’ll look just lovely when the sun sets.” Anne beams. “Thank you kids.” She wraps her arms around Harry. “I’m so happy you’re here.”
“Me too mum.”
“What do you all usually do on Christmas eve?” You ask.
“We have dinner, and then we take a drive to look at all the lights around town. Some people really do up their houses.” Gemma explains. “Then we come back and get into our pj’s and watch holiday movies and sip on hot cocoa.”
“Do you like Christmas movies, Y/N?” Anne asks.
“Oh sure, my siblings and I used to watch The Grinch every year on Christmas Eve. The one with Jim Carey.”
“We’ll just have to add that to the list then won’t we?”
“Then on Christmas morning we all have this big breakfast, and open presents. Some friends usually come to visit for dinner, and that’s about it.” Gemma finishes.
“That all sounds wonderful.”
//
After dinner, Anne drives the three of you around the neighborhood. Gemma was right, a lot of people really go all out with their lights. Harry keeps his fingers intertwined with yours for the whole drive. When you get back you were happy you brought a festive pair of pj’s, even if they were Hanukkah themed.
Gemma made everyone hot chocolate as you all got settled in the living room. You started off watching A Year Without A Santa Clause, and all of those stop motion classics.
“Hey look, The Grinch is on Netflix, shall we watch that next?” Anne asks.
“We don’t have to watch it if you all don’t want to.” You say.
“Nonsense, it’ll be a new tradition.”
“Mum, Y/N said she’d make us all potato pancakes tomorrow with breakfast. They’re really good. Do we have everything we need?”
“Yes, I have an abundance of potatoes.”
“Mm, homemade potato pancakes, what a treat.” Gemma says.
Anne flips on The Grinch and you feel a nostalgic excitement take over. Harry pulls you closer to him on the couch, and you snuggle in. You try really hard to stifle some of your laughs. But you can’t help it, you think the movie is hilarious. Harry knew it was bound to happen, you started laughing so hard you cried when the Grinch burps in a random guy’s face on the street. You were trying to be quiet about it, but it just made it funnier. Harry, Anne, and Gemma all laugh along from your infectious laughter.
You had only been there for a couple of days, but you loved his family so much already.

Chapter 2
Master Post
Words: 1,447
Summery: 'They seemed to be in a room with many other brown Eevee eggs, some still as rocks while others shook a bit, one on the other not to far away having a few cracks of its own. They lay in nest of blankets, the warm sun shining through a window straight onto his egg shell pieces. The Eevee squinted, he could see perfectly fine, but the light bothered his eyes, most likely since he basically stared straight at it as he entered the world.
The human opened a door to what seemed to be a large shed or small barn, for they exited onto a sprawling green field, trees sprouting here and there. Berry bushed lay at their bases, Oran, Sitrus, Logan, Pecha, Cheri, and many others spread between.
But what was fascinating were the brown pokemon currently turning to watch the human.
The Eevee's eyes widened as Eevees like himself stared back, brown eyes curiously inspecting him.'
A world were they were wanted to be one thing, but then ignored as extras when not. Where when every other of there kind around them kept separate, two connected like puzzle pieces. All was normal for several months
Until a new Eevee hatch.
And without realizing, Sleep and Pecha connected to a much bigger puzzle on a journey to find their little dark Star

Chapter One
Crack
what.. was that? 'Light' his mind supplied. The creature pushed a paw to the egg's shell, lightning bolts shooting along.
crack
"C'mon c'mon c'mon" a voice? Someone was talking outside wherever he was, instinct kicking in. The creature kicked the shell's inside, pushing.
crack
The light grew brighter and brighter as more fell through the splits, causing the pokemon to blink, the light bothering his eyes.
crack
Almost out.
crack
Just a bit more.
crack
Almost-
CRACK
The egg split open, the Eevee inside tumbled out.
"Ugggh, another normal" the voice muttered, making the Eevee look up.
The figure above him reached out a hand, patting him head "sorry bud, you not the one. Let's go put you with the others" the Eevee blinked, shaking his fur as he stood and chirped a confused ok.
The human picked him up, letting the Eevee look around.
They seemed to be in a room with many other brown Eevee eggs, some still as rocks while others shook a bit, one on the other not to far away having a few cracks of its own.
The Eevee's eyes widened as Eevees like himself stared back, brown eyes curiously inspecting him.
"There's another one hatching right now" the human announced to the crowd, setting the newly hatched Eevee down. No Eevee made a move toward the human, just continuing their business when they walked back inside.
Eevee blinked, confusion filling him "excuse me" he squeaked to a nearby Eevee. She stop confused "what's going on?" He asked, curiosity filling his mind.
"That's Manti" she explained, shaking out her fur "they/them pronouns. Apparently they're breeding for shiny grey colored Eevees, when ever they come out with one it's brought over to their house instead of staying with us" Eevee stared at the large house she pointed at before walking away.
He jumped a few minutes later as the door opened again, 'Manti' sighing as another brown Eevee lay in his arms. He set the squinting Eevee down next to the other before walking away.
"What going on?" The squinting Eevee asked, confused. The older Eevee explained as the walked over to a shaded spot, apologising with his small knowledge.
"That's so weird" the younger mumbled softly, starting a tad scared out at the other pokemon. They ended up curling together near a Peacha Berry bush under a red apple tree, the younger enjoying the sweet tasting berries. The taste was ok with the older, but maybe a bit too sweet.
"Hey" the younger looked up "it's ok to be scared, we're new to all this" the older snuggled closer "we'll stick together."
The younger hummed "it might be possible Manti could name us, or give us to someone else to name, but do you wanna give each other nicknames? Might be easier since we're both Eevees" he giggled.
"Hmm ok, how about Sleep for me, since that's all I want to do right now" the older joked, causing the younger to laughed. "All right then Sleep, what's mine?" Sleep felt his cheeks heat up slightly, but couldn't help but let out a small laugh "how about Peacha, since your so sweet?" He suggested, giving a grin as the younger gave a very noticeable blush and froze. Sleep felt sudden fear, what if he took offense, what if he didn't like it, what if-
The younger smiled, tucking his head under the older's chin "I love it" Peacha whispered.
______________________________

Sleep watched sleepily as Manti entered the Hatchery. It had been several months since Sleep and Peacha hatched, only one shiny grey Eevee had appeared. Manti seemed very happy, the two being close enough to hear them mutter "finally a Jolteon" before walking off. Apparently the human had been attempting for a long time to gain every shiny Eevee and Eeveelution, already having the normal furs.

It had been quite a while since the last shiny though, Manti gaining more and more annoyed.

"FOR ARCEUS SAKE" a scream raged from the Hatchery, startling Peacha from sleep. Manti exited, clearly upset but just let out an sign, setting the Eevee down before walking away. Sleep looked curiously at the new Eevee.

Even for a newly hatched, the Eevee was very small. It crouched in the setting sun's lights, darker than normal furred slightly spiked in fear. Poor Eevee must have been terrified having a scream be the first noise he heard. Anger at Manti bubbled in Sleep for a moment before Pecha stood up, bounding over to the curled up Eevee.

"Hey" Pecha whispered and Sleep wandered up behind "are you ok?" The Eevee glanced up, brilliantly rich violet eyes stared. Sleep blinked. Manti really must have not gotten a good look at this Eevee, otherwise it probably would have never left his sight.

"I- I" the dark Eevee mumbled, shrinking down. Pecha blinked "oh no it's ok, Manti's not mad specifically at you" he comforted.

Sleep gently nudged the Eevee up, the small one following them. After that day the two hatched, the Pecha bush under the rich red apple tree had become their sleeping spot. There was a large radius of open grass between that tree and other objects, giving the two, now three privacy.

The two calmed the Eevee down, explaining the situation as they curled him between the two.

"So, Manti is a shiny breeder?" The Eevee mumbled tiredly as the others nodded. The violet eyes were locked on the sky as stars started shining brightly, calming the Eevee even more.

"Do you.. do you want me to leave you guys alone?" He whispered asked.

"No!" Pecha cried, snuggling up closer. The Eevee blinked "but your so close, I don't want to interfere."

Sleep shook his head "we choose who we want to be around" he looked up at the stars alongside the Eevee "and to prove that I, the amazing Sleep, with give you a nickname" Pecha swatted him with his tail "of course, only if you want one."

The Eevee looked over and hesitated "are.. are you sure?" Sleep nodded.

"Alright.." Sleep and Pecha snuggled the small one closer "how about Star, dark one?" Sleep mumbled sleepily, glancing one last time at the sky the violet eyes were still latched onto.

The dark one thought for a moment, before nodding.

"I.. I like it" Star mumbled, smiling.

______________________________

Manti walked out, fresh air shifting around them. Footfall behind them made the breeder turn, smiling as an old friend walked out.

"So I heard you were looking for an Eevee. I just had a special looking Eevee born about two weeks ago, bright purple eyes. It's not a shiny so it's useless to me, but a dragon evolution would look cool with those eyes.

When Sleep and Pecha woke up, their little Star was gone.

______________________________

Sleep comforted Pecha as the younger cried. "Don't worry, we'll find him" Pecha just shook his head.

"Manti took him while we slept, he probably gave him off to a trainer" he mumbled between tears. It was probably true, occasionally humans would come by and take one of the 'extra' Eevees along with them.

Sleep growled "we will find him" the tone causing Pecha to look up as Sleep stood up, making his way to the fence.
"But we can't leave!" Pecha exclaimed, eyes wide. "Yes we can" Sleep argued calmly, hopping through the boards "just no one has. Listen, Manti doesn't care about us, we might have been split anyways because they gave us to two separate trainer" Pecha hesitated, remembering the sad truth.

"I'm leaving to find our Star, whether your coming or not" Pecha finally looked up, determined. He hopped through the fence, tucking his head under Sleep's chin and nuzzling the Eevee's chest "like you can get rid of me that easily" Pecha purred.

the two split, glancing one last time at the Eevee farm, seeing other Eevees watch them with shocked faces as the turned away.

"Now" Pecha growled, walking into the forest, the unknown "let's get our Star back."

Johnathan woke up slowly, tangled in his bedding and hardly able to open his eyes. He stared out into the dark corner of his room, trying to pinpoint what exactly had woken him up before turning his head slightly to glance at the digital display of his bedside clock. The bright red numbers glared at him, displaying an hour that was far too early for his liking. He sighed deeply to himself and tried to go back to sleep, closing his eyes and rolling over onto his side.
As he shrugged his blankets back up tightly around his shoulders, trying to find that comfortable sweet spot, he realized from the pressure on his bladder that he’d woken up because he had to piss. Johnathan groaned in frustration and lay there for one stubborn, uncomfortable moment before resigning himself to getting up.
His coordination suffered with how tired he was as he got up out of bed and stumbled out of his room, tripping over his shoes when he got to the hall. Rubbing his eyes as he passed by Will’s room, he didn’t notice that the door to his brother’s bedroom was open and continued towards the bathroom unawares.
He relieved himself without turning the bathroom light on, unwilling to chase away what remained of his sleepiness by turning it on. Once finished, he flushed and tucked himself back into his underwear hastily, scratching at his stomach as he shuffled back into the hall, more awake now than he’d have liked to have been. There was nothing more he wanted in that moment than to get back in bed and wrap himself into a warm cocoon, but as he approached Will’s bedroom it became impossible for him to miss  the fact that his door was open, and that a cold wind was steadily blowing through it.
It was the cold that had Johnathan’s stomach curling uneasily as he hesitated by the open door, looking into Will’s room uncertainly.
The window along the back wall of his room was open wide, allowing the cold, hard-blowing wind to sweep in snow as it passed by. An empty howling noise accompanied the wind as it scraped along the sides of the house and flew in through the opening. Will was standing in front of it, his comforter wrapped around his shoulders tightly as he turned from where he’d been staring out the open window to look at his brother, a desperately frightened look in his eye that glimmered even in the dark.
“Will?” Johnathan asked hesitantly, crossing his arms across his chest to keep himself warm as he wandered closer towards the open window. His heart was pounding hard and fast, already afraid of what Will was going to say. “What’re you doing? Why is the window open?”
Will didn’t say anything at first. He turned sharply away from where Johnathan was carefully watching him, his breath coming in quick bursts that skirted the edges of hyperventilation as he tried to summon the courage he needed to speak.
“Nothing,” Will said after one long moment. He freed one of his arms from his blanket robe and closed the window abruptly, snapping it shut quickly before stepping back to his bedside, still bundled tightly in the warmth of his comforter. “I thought I heard something outside, is all.”
Johnathan looked towards the window as Will climbed back into bed, as though he’d be able to see what his brother had thought he’d seen. “Heard something like what?” Johnathan asked eventually, speaking slowly in an effort to be mindful, artfully dodging the questions he really wanted to ask: is it him? Is he back?
In bed, Will shrugged easily, but something about the way he held his blankets tightly around him made him look small and insecure; even his eyes still looked wary and afraid. “I dunno. It sounded like some dogs fighting, I think. They were coming close, but it’s quiet now and I couldn’t see anything when I looked.”
“Some dogs?” It wasn’t that he mistrusted Will, but Johnathan was well aware of his brother’s penchant for withholding information when he thought it might put his family at risk. “Are you sure that was all it was? You’d tell me if there was more to it, right?”
“Yeah,” Will said softly. His attention had been focused on his window, but he turned it towards Johnathan with a reassuring smile. “Yeah, of course I would; the noises just reminded me of Chester, is all. I miss him.”
A bitter smile graced Johnathan’s lips at the mention of their late dog.
“Yeah, me too,” he said after a quiet moment of reflection. “He was a good dog, but if you hear them out there again, let me know and I’ll take a look, alright?”
“Okay,” Will said, letting his gaze drift back to the window. Johnathan followed it uncertainly before remembering how tired he was and how cold his bed was getting without him in it.
“Goodnight, Will,” he said as he turned away, closing the bedroom door quietly behind him as he left.
“Night, Johnathan,” Will replied with a whisper.
\\\
The ringing of the telephone mounted on the kitchen wall sounded more like an angry alarm clock than it did a phone as it rattled insistently in its cradle. The loud, abrupt noise it made carried strongly into the living room, blaring its alarm as loudly and determinedly as it could, unheeding of whomever might’ve been trying to sleep through it. And Steve did manage to sleep through it, exhausted as he was, paying it no attention as he sighed and ignored the ringing tones that began to seep into the dream he was having. The kitchen phone rung dutifully regardless, announcing the call as loudly as it could before it eventually tapered off unanswered, and a welcoming silence took hold for one strong minute before it began to ring again, and this time it was strong enough to wake Steve with a start.
His body jerked in surprise as he was unceremoniously brought into wakefulness, the shock of the phone’s persistent ringing causing him to draw in a deep breath of air as he lifted his head up from out of the deep, cushioned crevice of the sofa he’d fallen asleep on. The lingering remnants of his dream mixed with his waking memory, muddying it to the point where he couldn’t immediately recognize where he was as he rolled over onto his back and stared up at the ceiling. The thought that he was late for school and had somehow slept through his alarm worried itself into his mind as the phone continued to ring unanswered. If he got written up for showing up late to first period again, then his dad was gonna really have his ass for it this time.
Steve quickly moved into a sitting position and winced as the injury on his arm protested painfully against his sudden movements. He ignored the intense throbbing, unaware of how misplaced his concerns were, as, in a manner that could be likened to Alice’s white rabbit, he stood up and hurried into the kitchen on curiously sore feet, slipping in too-small borrowed socks across the linoleum tile and worried only about the time. The little creature’s mantra of ‘I’m late, I’m late, I’m late’ circulated through his thoughts relentlessly as he stupidly went to answer the phone in a misguided attempt to turn off the alarm.
He slapped the receiver off the arms of its cradle, ending its terrible noisemaking mid-ring. Relieved, he stood staring at the curved piece of plastic as it dangled limply by its cord, swaying against the backdrop of unfamiliar wallpaper like the pendulum of some grandfather clock.
“Hello? Anyone home? Hel-loooo?”
A voice, tinny and hardly audible started speaking through the receiver. The voice registered as being somewhat familiar to him, perforating the sleepy haze clouding his mind as he tried to bring his thoughts into focus; God knew he’d never been a morning person. Hesitantly, Steve reached out to take hold of the phone receiver and put it to his ear, looking around himself doubtfully as he did so to orient himself, when, as he caught sight of the kitchen table he’d stayed up all night sitting at, it all came back to him rather suddenly.
He hadn’t stayed overnight in some stranger’s house, and he certainly wasn’t late for school: he was standing in the Henderson’s kitchen, wearing two pairs of Dustin’s socks he’d had to stretch out to fit over his feet, which had somehow, miraculously, not given themselves over to frostbite in the night. Bright, early morning sunshine was flooding in through the kitchen windows, reflecting too harshly over the freshly fallen snow outside for him to look out at for too long. He squinted and turned away from the glare, unsure of what to do now that he’d actually answered the call.
“Uh,” he said into the phone smartly as he continued to stare around himself, still mildly caught in the throes of sleepy bewilderment. A small part of his brain was still trying to convince him that he was late for school and he ought to be hurrying on. “Uh, Hen- Henderson household?”
“There you are! Finally, geeze, Mike, did you plan on sleeping all day?”
Dustin’s voice, clear but confusing in its purpose, came in from the other end of the line.
“Whoa, bud, I think you have the wrong number; this is your house, not Mike’s,” Steve replied after a moment, fixing the receiver between the crook of his neck and shoulder. He balanced it there precariously as he went to roll up the sleeve of his shirt tenderly, trying to get a good look at the wound that was painfully making itself remembered.
He had to cock his head at an awkward angle to get a good look at it. The long, not-yet-healed gash that had had its stitches popped was coated in dried, flakey blood, but didn’t look as bad as it felt in Steve’s opinion. There were a few busted stitches he could see that would have to be tended to, but they didn’t look like they were in need of urgent care, and although he’d promised Hopper he’d go to the hospital first thing after the night was over, he felt it could probably wait a while longer. He rolled his sleeve back down and took the receiver in hand.
“Haha, yeah, I know man,” Dustin’s voice continued, his cheery tone sounding fake despite his words. “Look, Mike, I just wanted to let you know that I’ll be back in time for DnD today after all-”
“Dustin, dude, are you even listening to me? I’m not Mike, you called your own house-” Steve said, sighing in frustration.
“Yeah, trust me, I know.” The tone of Dustin’s voice became sterner and more pointed amidst the voices Steve could hear casually conversing in the background. Sudden understanding dawned on Steve’s sleepy face when he realized Dustin wasn’t being an idiot, but was attempting to speak to him in code. “SO, yeah, don’t worry about trying to incorporate my character without me, I’ll be home by eleven.”
“Eleven?” Steve turned around in place, trying to find a clock to give him the current time, forgetting that he had a watch currently strapped to his wrist. He found one mounted on the far wall that marked the hour at being just a little past 9:45. “Shit,” he breathed out lowly to himself, turning back to the wall the phone was mounted on. He leaned up against it, trying to think of what to do and how to respond.
The cellar was a mess; from the poor, dimly lit glimpses he’d gotten of it the previous night he’d recognized it to be effectively trashed. The gore that had come from Billy’s transformation was splattered all over the walls and floor. With the knowledge that he could barely keep his own room clean, Steve knew that there was no way in hell he’d be able to clean it all out in an hour, on his own, while also trying to figure out where Billy had gone.
He brought the inside of his lip between his teeth and chewed on it lightly, tugging at a piece chapped skin that had cracked and was peeling up, his gaze wandering about the room and to the windows again as he tried to come up with a suitable plan of action. His eyes lingered on the snow outside, adjusting to the refracting light as he weighed out his options.
“So are we still on to play?” Dustin asked, his voice interrupting Steve’s concentration. “Should I call the rest of the party and let them know?”
“What?” Steve blinked and turned his focus away from the window, but as he turned away he noticed something he hadn’t before. Squinting, he turned to look back outside and frowned, trying to figure out what it was that had stood out to him. “Uh, no?”
“Why not? You said earlier this week that the next session was going to be an important one!”
“Oh my god, your code language is confusing the hell out of me, Henderson. Look, I know you can’t speak frankly wherever you are, but if you’re asking to get something done today I- I can’t yet,” Steve said, and sighed heavily again. He knew he owed Dustin an explanation- had promised him one, in fact- but he couldn’t find the words to do it currently. He was hurt, sore, tired, and still had so much left to do that he couldn’t allocate enough energy into trying to formulate the response he owed. “Listen, not today, man, but tomorrow, alright? ‘Call the party’ and assemble the rest of the nerds to set up a meeting for tomorrow or something.”
The silence on the other end of the line was welcoming. The voices that had been talking in the background were still hardly audible as Dustin took his time thinking over Steve’s request, granting him the time to focus on the snow.
It was fresh and thick and spread across the ground tantalizingly, practically begging for some kid to come along and roll a snowman out of it. But despite how serene it appeared, there was something off about it; something so subtle Steve couldn’t quite perceive what it was, but still he could tell that there was something there he was missing. He wiped away whatever sleep was left in his eyes and squinted harder, despite the way the sunshine that glimmered across the surface negatively impacted his vision.
“Okay, fine, but I’d like to remind whoever else may be listening that we are proud of our interests and refuse to wear the moniker of ‘nerd’ with shame,” Dustin said testily in response.
“Yeah, okay, whatever; that’s cool, man,” Steve mumbled. “I’m glad you’re proud of your little nerd interests.” He was starting to develop a headache as he stared, watching the way the natural lighting changed as the cloud coverage shifted and moved. The snow became less bright, and the shadows deepened as the clouds traveled slowly by, and suddenly Steve realized what it was that had stood out as peculiar to him.
It was disturbed. What should have been a fresh, even coating of snow was disturbed. He hadn’t been able to see it properly until the shadows had been emphasized, but there was a clear path there that he could see now that indicated something had come through the backyard, leading straight to the cellar opening. Any remnants of exhaustion that lingered still in Steve’s body was replaced with a sharp spike in adrenaline.
“Okay, okay cool yeah, look, I gotta go,” Steve said hurriedly, unsure of when exactly he’d tangled himself in the phone’s curly cord. “Just, radio me later, or something, uh, we’ll get this all sorted out, and listen seriously for a minute here: do not, I repeat, do not let your mom go anywhere near your basement alright? It’s fucked up, but I’ll take care of it later; I gotta go now, we’ll debate the politics of what being a nerd does to your street cred later.”
“Wait, wait!” Dustin exclaimed, and Steve only obliged him because he had yet to unwind himself completely from the phone’s deceptively long cord. “At least give me a hint for the session; is it- is it a ‘code red’ kind of thing we’re going to be dealing with here? I wanna know what spells I ought to prepare, you owe me that much of a hint at least!”
Steve paused as he finally unwound himself completely, his arm already postured to hang up the phone. He looked out at the snow, where something had clearly come through while he’d been sleeping.
Was it a code red? He thought of Billy’s screams and of the smatterings of gore he hadn’t wanted to see that had caused them when he’d delved into the cellar last night; thought of how he’d wandered alone like an idiot into a tunnel where no one had known he’d gone and where no one could help him if he’d needed it, and wondered how much longer he could survive trying to handle this all on his own.
Was it a code red?
“Yeah,” he said quietly into the phone, closing his eyes against the horrific memories he’d forced himself to recall, hating that he was dragging his children into this with him, “yeah, man, I’d say it’s a code red.”
“Fuck,” he heard Dustin whisper, and smirked a little when he overheard his mom begin to call him away from the phone. “Alright, alright, I’m coming! This has been great Mike, but now I gotta go.”
“Right, yeah, so just radio me later. I’ll tell you more about the ‘session’ then,” Steve said, and hung up without waiting to hear Dustin’s confirmation.
Steve floundered for a moment after the phone clicked into place, flexing his toes against the tight, cottony double-binding that held them. He needed to go outside, but his sneakers were still soggy and unwearable, if the puddle they were laying in under the kitchen table was any indication.
When his feet had returned to a normal coloration after being soaked, he hadn’t thought about doing anything to his shoes to get them to dry properly. He’d scrounged awkwardly through Dustin’s dresser for something warm to cover his feet with after he’d drained the bath, and had spent the night trudging about in too-small socks and Mrs. Henderson’s bedroom slippers, worrying about Billy and Hopper in intermittent bursts; drying his shoes hadn’t even crossed his mind at all.
Pulling on the coat he’d left hanging on the back of one of the kitchen chairs, he hustled back into the living room to retrieve the slippers he’d borrowed. Much like Dustin’s socks, they were unfortunately too small to fully cover his feet and stopped just short of supporting his heel, but he was resolute in the fact that they would have to do. He shuffled over to the backdoor and unlocked the deadbolt with a heavy click to investigate the disturbance he’d spied from the kitchen.
He shivered against the cold and left the door open behind him as he awkwardly made his way closer to the trail, noticing with no small hint of relief that the tracks appeared to have been manmade and were recognizably human. Whatever comforts he took in that fact were unfortunately short lived when, as he finally came up close to the tracks, he noticed that there was blood mixed into the compacted snow where someone had come walking. It pooled primarily in the deep divot a heel leaves behind in a footprint, and it was no small amount.
Barefoot, Steve thought wearily. He was walking barefoot.
The bloody set of prints led straight to the doors of the cellar that had been left open wide, and there Steve hesitated, ignoring the fact that the slippers he was wearing were quickly growing cold and soggy.
He stopped by one of the open doors and stepped down onto the first step, taking care to not slip in the snow that had accumulated overnight. Steve squinted into the gloom, not blind to the fact that the tracks led in, but none had yet come back up. The morning sun was casting its light down the narrow cellar corridor brightly, but in the places where its illumination couldn’t reach, Steve thought he could barely make out the hint of a form submerged in the darkness. He took another cautious step down but stalled when he heard the sounds of something coughing hard, struggling to hack something up.
“Hargrove?” he called out unsurely, slowly descending further down the stairwell with one hand kept pressed to the cold, stone wall for support. “Hargrove, please say that’s you down there.”
A low groan, sounding miserably familiar and rough amidst the sounds of heaving was all the confirmation he needed. He hastened in his descent, nearly slipping on a few frozen steps when the traction-less rubber soles of the slippers he was wearing failed to grip anything, throwing all the caution he’d thus far been exercising to the wind to reach the bottom as quickly as he could. His mind and heart were racing when he finally got to the bottom, and there he found Billy, naked and heaving and hunched over in the dark.
“Oh, shit,” Steve breathed out as he slowly drew nearer, his eyes roving over the pale expanse of Billy’s exposed back. His legs were awkwardly tucked up underneath him, revealing the raw and bloodied bottoms of his feet. Across his back and trailing around to the front of his torso were multiple pink, raised marks that looked like freshly healed scars, but even as Steve studied them he could see that some of them were still glistening and open. The gashes were long and vicious, holding Steve’s focus as Billy made another gross, wet retching noise. His body trembled as it heaved, prompting Steve into action.
“Fuck, are you alright?” he asked, but immediately chided himself for even asking; he could see quite clearly that he wasn’t alright at all.
He awkwardly bent to kneel down beside him, unsure of what he could really do for him as Billy clutched his stomach and shook. Steve hesitantly reached out to rub his back in comfort as Billy struggled and heaved again, choking on the vomit that was finally beginning to bubble up in the back of his throat. Steve looked away in disgust as it dribbled out of his mouth, but continued to rub his back dutifully in what he hoped was a soothing gesture.
His fingers bumped over the raised marks, subconsciously tracing them as he felt Billy’s skin, noting how amazingly smooth and soft it felt, strongly reminding him of the way Nancy’s skin got after she’d finished the exfoliating part of her beauty routine, leaving him to wonder if that wasn’t due in part to Billy’s skin being new.
The bile Billy was choking up was viscous in nature as he spit it out weakly. It was thick and red and clung to his lips before he began vomiting in earnest, his body curling forward as chunks of furred meat and splintered pieces of bone spewed from his mouth in a gruesome torrent, splashing messily on the floor before him. He coughed and spit raggedly, his body shivering all over as the muscles in his stomach clenched and drew loose repeatedly, tightening again and relaxing over and over in an attempt to finish purging everything he had in him. A seemingly endless amount of the unsavory mix of fur and bone spilled out of him, mixing with the red, bloodied juices that had coagulated onto the floor. Hearing Billy vomiting had Steve close to puking himself, an uncomfortable nausea settling in his gut as listened to the continued heaves until the delicate equilibrium of Billy’s stomach was restored.
“What the fuck is this?” Billy eventually asked hoarsely, unable to keep the full-body tremble he was experiencing from shaking his voice when he spoke. “What the hell did I eat?”
Steve shook his head uncertainly, chancing a glance at the mess on the floor before quickly looking away again.
“When I found you, I think… I think it was a deer,” Steve said, unsure if Billy would find that information to be comforting or not. Billy shuddered in response, shivering beneath Steve’s touch.
It was hard having to witness Billy in such a vulnerable state; he was so pale and hairless and weakened that, if Steve hadn’t known it was Billy beneath his hand, then he might not have been able to recognize him at all.
The change, at some point, had robbed Billy’s skin of its remarkable tan, leaving his complexion woefully pale that bordered something almost ghostly. Steve recognized the theft as a tragedy, but it was made worse seeing that Billy had lost all of his hair as well- not even his eyebrows had survived the shedding, and the curly, golden-brown hair that would’ve looked trashy on anyone else was scattered tragically around the room in a display almost as gruesome as the remnants of his discarded, ruined flesh.
Billy groaned again, low and deep as he tried to straighten out, bumping Steve’s hand away. Long strands of saliva linked his lips to the muck on the floor, drawing Steve’s attention back to the thrown up remains of whatever raw thing monster-Billy had feasted upon. He could feel the nausea rising in him again as the acidic smell of the vomit crept up his nostrils, and knew he had to move before he became as incapacitated as Billy, lest they both end up wasting the morning by wallowing in the cellar, incapable of taking care of each other.
He tore his gaze away from the fresh vomit and stood up, wiping his hands off on his jeans. He offered a hand down to help Billy up, but he didn’t take it. Billy remained where he was, dazedly staring down into the mess that had come out of his stomach, shivering violently, though whether it was because of the cold or from the ruin and subsequent rebuilding of his body, Steve wasn’t sure.
With nothing else to do, Steve stood by idly and watched as Billy spit whatever foul tasting saliva had gathered in his mouth onto the floor. When he realized he wasn’t doing anything except staring, Steve wondered if Dustin’s home could offer up anything for Billy to wear. The clothes he’d worn the night before lay in tatters at the bottom of the cellar stairs, his tight blue jeans ripped at the seams and the shirt he’d worn shredded into strips of fabric that not even all the kings horses nor all the kings men could hope to put together again.
“I’ll be right back,” Steve said, determined to at least try to find something for Billy to take cover in. It didn’t seem as though Billy was ready to try moving yet anyway.
Billy didn’t say anything as Steve turned away and left, walking up the stairs and into the morning light alone. He stared down into the muck of his sickness and tentatively reached up to feel his hairless head self-consciously, his hand shaking as he felt the smoothness of his scalp. A whimper escaped him as he attempted to restrict his grief, silently mourning the loss of one of his greatest points of pride.
\\\
In the end, Steve ended up giving Billy his own shirt, awkwardly stripping it off in a way that didn’t aggravate his injury as he swapped it out for his coat. The long-sleeved tee fit tightly across Billy’s chest when he finally resigned to putting it on, defining his musculature well through the fabric in a way Steve’s body couldn’t. Steve tried to crack a joke about it being too small for him, but Billy didn’t appear to be much in the mood to joke as he stood still and wearily took the rest of clothes that were handed to him, only ever making an apparent noise of disgust when Steve handed him Dustin’s mother’s bathrobe.
“It’s all I could find that’d fit, probably,” Steve explained, hoping that Mrs. Henderson wouldn’t notice that the ugly pink thing he’d found hanging on her bathroom door had gone missing. Billy held it at arm’s length distastefully before begrudgingly wrapping it around himself, wearing it like a makeshift skirt as he tied it into place, pulling the soft pink belt that came with it into a tight knot on his hip.
There was nothing else Steve could offer him; Dustin was still only a kid whose clothes stood no chance at all of fitting Billy, and he didn’t feel comfortable rooting through Mrs. Henderson’s wardrobe to try and find anything better. It was ridiculous. Billy looked ridiculous, dressed in a bloodied shirt and pink skirt as he pulled his boots on over his healing feet, and under any other circumstances Steve would’ve made a point to laugh and make fun of the fact that he looked like a combat-ready Barbie, but as it was, Steve found that he was still having a hard time looking at him long enough to properly mock him.
He looked miserable and exhausted; ugly and humorous; the butt of a joke he’d spent his whole life avoiding by building his ego up until he’d become impervious to it all, but now his shell was cracked, and vulnerability seeped out of the fractures like a slow flood leaking out of a broken dam.
If Billy took notice of how strongly Steve was averting his gaze, he didn’t comment on it. In Steve’s mind, he thought Billy was probably thankful for it as he wordlessly put on the black knit beanie Steve had scavenged out of Dustin’s room to hide his bald head.
“You good?” Steve asked him quietly, watching as Billy adjusted the brim of the hat to cover as much as it could. Steve recognized the frailty Billy was trying to contain as it was quietly broadcast across the features of his face: it was in the way he kept blinking to prevent his eyes from watering up too much, and in the way his mouth twitched as he ran his tongue ran over his teeth repeatedly. It was in the way he couldn’t even manage to hold himself upright, his body hunched over and weighted in the shoulders with weariness and fatigue.
Billy didn’t answer, and Steve thought he could understand what his silence meant.
“Let’s get the fuck out of here,” he said after a moment, and let Billy lead the way out of the cellar and back into the house.
He appeared to have been recovering well enough, walking slowly but steadily with purpose until a severe wave of exhaustion struck him down almost as soon as they stepped through the door. He came close to collapsing after they stepped through the threshold and into the kitchen, but Steve was quick and intervened before he fell, taking hold of him as soon as he’d started to go down.
“Jesus fuck- Are you alright?” He asked in alarm, holding Billy awkwardly in his arms as he tried to regain his footing. He stumbled and nearly fell again as he jerked out of Steve’s grip and eventually let himself be guided to the couch.
“Peachy,” Billy muttered in delayed response, his vision blurring as he sat down. He sat still holding his head for a moment before leaning over onto his side, spreading out atop the cushions Steve had spent the night on and closing his eyes, desperate for rest.
“Wait, don’t- you can’t sleep here,” Steve said pleadingly, hyper-aware of what time it was and how long they had until Dustin and his mom came home. “Look, we have to be out of here before eleven; I have to make a quick call first and then we have to haul ass outta here, alright? Hargrove? Are you getting any of that?”
Billy didn’t reply, already fast asleep.
Steve groaned miserably, feeling the weighted responsibility of what it might be like to be a single parent trying to raise a belligerent, lazy teenage son. All the same, Steve left him alone; he’d been through a lot, and if he needed a little bit of rest to recover, then he could spare him the five minutes it would take to leave a message for Hopper.
He was rubbing his forehead as he made his way back into the kitchen, kicking off the wet slippers that were no longer of any real use to him. Steve grabbed the phone’s receiver from where it sat crookedly in its cradle and plugged in the number for the Hawkins police department, rehearsing what he planned to say in his head as he waited for the call to go through.
“Florence speaking for Hawkins P.D., is this an emergency?”
“Uh, hi, no, not an emergency; this is Steve Harrington, and I was just calling to leave a message for Hopper about-”
“About the dog he’s been out all night trying to chase down, yes,” she said, cutting him off curtly. “I recognize your name. Your mom’s show dog, is it?”
“Yeah, yeah, real prized. Expensive breed, and all that. She was just- just so worried about him,” Steve stammered, trying to fold himself naturally into the lie Hopper must have fabricated for the rest of the department to explain why it was so important that this dog be found. “But he came back about an hour ago, a little worse for wear but doing alright besides, so if you could just radio him or whatever that we found him-”
“What breed is it?”
“Uh, sorry, what?” Steve asked, eyes flitting to where Billy was effectively passed out on the couch. Mutt? Mongrel? Bully? What did Billy qualify as?
“I was just curious. It must be something really exotic if Jim decided to put himself on it instead of delegating it.”
“Oh, well, you know,” Steve said, mentally combing through the sparse list of dog breeds he knew, but nothing came up exotic enough to match the worth Florence had pinned on the imaginary dog. “It’s just- it’s just, uh, you know. A… a Dingo.”
There was a long moment of silence from Florence’s end that Steve used to mentally berate himself, slapping his palm to his forehead stupidly.
“A Dingo,” Florence repeated dubiously. “Your mother’s prized show dog is an Australian Dingo?”
“Ah, yep, that’s right. We had him imported only a few months ago, actually. So if you could just pass that on to the chief for me, I’d be really grateful,” Steve explained quickly, hating himself for not being able to quickly think up something more believable than a wild dog he’d learned about through Nancy coincidentally for some kind of a school report.
“Hold on kid, before you go, Jim left me a message to relay to you in the event you found your mom’s ‘Dingo’ first.”
Steve hesitated, feeling the warm flush of embarrassment colouring his face as he considered hanging up and ending the call prematurely to avoid any further humiliating remarks. He prayed that he’d never have to meet Florence in person. “Oh. Uh, okay. What’d he say?”
“He wanted me to let you know that in the event you found it first, he’s going to want to drop in on you to see it and make sure it’s alright. Asked me to take down your address for him, if that’s okay by you.”
“Oh, yeah, sure, no problem,” Steve said, eyeing the ticking clock on the wall worriedly; it was already almost half-past ten. The day had just begun, and already he was beginning to feel the uncomfortable dregs of exhaustion flowing thickly through his veins.
Even so, he maintained politeness as he gave Florence his address and asked that his gratitude for all the hours Hopper had put in towards finding his ‘dog’ be forwarded to him via radio. He hung up quickly afterwards so she didn’t have the chance to make another smart remark about his mother’s alleged Dingo and sighed deeply, wishing he could just go back to sleep and let matters handle themselves. He gathered up his shoes and prepared to leave.
\\\
It was tough getting Billy up after that; he was so bone-weary that Steve probably could’ve rolled him off the couch and dropped him onto the floor without waking him up. Seeing him like that reminded him of a time when he’d still been crowned ‘King of Hakwins’, when the only time he’d seen someone in a similar state of unconsciousness was when Tommy H. had gotten so shitfaced at one of his ragers that he’d passed out in the bathroom and wouldn’t wake up for anything. As his body blocked access to the toilet, other partygoers had resorted to messily pissing over him before Carol had begged him to roll Tommy’s prone form out of the way so he wouldn’t be humiliated any further, and even then he hadn’t woken up as he was effectively tucked up against the hard porcelain of the bathtub.
Looking down at Billy, Steve puzzled over how he was going to get him out of the house and into the car if he was truly as comatose as he feared he was. He could drag him out by the arms, probably, if he wasn’t worried about up keeping a respectable appearance; he knew some of Dustin’s neighbors, and wanted to keep in as good graces as he could manage with them, especially if it turned out they’d have need of the cellar again, but Billy was so dense that there might not be any other way.
Steve groaned loudly and looked around himself impatiently, wondering if there was some way he could rig together a possible sled or something to tow Billy out to the car with. Nothing in the living room jumped out to him as being particularly useful in that regard, though.
...What if he hit him? The thought came to him as he recalled some of the strategies his parents had employed on himself when he was younger. Sometimes, when he’d been hard to wake as a child, his dad would lightly (and sometimes not-so-lightly) slap at his face until he woke up. It was a startling technique, but maybe that was all Billy needed, and wouldn’t it be fair, anyway? For all the times he’d hit Steve, one wake-up slap wouldn’t be the worst he had coming to him. Steve raised his hand, aligned it with Billy’s prone form, and stared down at him morosely.
He twisted his arm back, mentally readying himself for the shitstorm that would erupt if hitting him did end up working, but paused when his attention was captured in the same subtle way it’d been when he’d noticed something odd about the snow earlier. Steve blinked, frowned, and then lowered his hand, mesmerized by what he saw.
There was a darkness that had been forming in the skin above Billy’s eyes while Steve had stood there pondering, slowly growing denser even as he continued to stare. He couldn’t quite figure out what it was at first, but realization struck him harder than he’d wanted to strike Billy when he understood with some dull amazement that he was watching Billy’s eyebrows slowly growing back in. It was very subtle, almost completely imperceptible, but the space above Billy’s eyes was slowly filling out- with the exception of one small slant that curiously remained blank. Without thinking, Steve reached out to run a finger along the small bare patch of skin, unaware that Billy had had a scar there until now. He wondered how he got it as he let his finger continue along the ridge of his brow, slipping from the smooth groove of the scar to feel the slight prickle of the short growing hairs as they naturally followed the curve along the shape of his eyebrow arch.
This is good, Steve thought; it meant Billy’s hair would grow back, given enough time, and for some reason he found that thought comforting. He’d be able to look at him again without feeling guilty, like Billy was suffering for some grave mistake Steve had caused.
Without really realizing what he was doing, Steve’s gentle touch roamed away from his eyebrows, trailing down the length of Billy’s soft face, rubbing over his cheek bone and down to his chin, feeling the smooth expanse of skin in an unwitting caress. He held his touch there for a moment before suddenly becoming aware of what he was doing, jerking his hand away as Billy began to wake, his startlingly blue eyes blinking rapidly up at him in exhausted confusion.
“We gotta go,” Steve said, turning away in embarrassment and speaking far too gently. He cleared his throat awkwardly and repeated himself a little more insistently, a little more urgently. “Get up. We gotta go, Hargrove.”
\\\
“Should I, like, drop you off somewhere?”
Upon leaving the Henderson’s house, Steve realized a little ways down the road that he didn’t actually know where he should be going. He’d only been to Billy’s house once, and didn’t know the way to it from Dustin’s, or if that was even where Billy wanted to go. With the immediate threat of being caught by Dustin’s mother averted, Steve had no preset destination in mind. Almost automatically, he began to navigate them in the direction of his own home with nowhere else to go.
“Like where,” Billy snarled, eyes closed and forehead pressed firmly against the cold windowpane.
His condition hadn’t improved since they’d left, and in some ways he actually looked worse. He was sweating hard, obviously riddled with nausea and trying not to bring attention to it. Every once in a while Billy’s stomach emitted a terrible growl that would in turn make Billy groan. It made Steve nervous, afraid that he was going to start throwing up again at any moment.
He’d become remarkably tight-lipped again, as it seemed that talking was causing Billy discomfort. Whenever he did speak, he’d reach up to tentatively press his fingers along the sides of his jaw, slowly making his way to the underside of his chin, wincing slightly as though he had a bad toothache. Occasionally he’d open his mouth and stretch it in an awkward grimace, reaching in once or twice to feel something that must’ve been bothering him, but would stop quickly whenever he caught Steve watching him. Part of Steve had hoped that whatever weird behaviors being a werewolf had on him would stop now that the full moon had come and gone, but it seemed he’d been mistaken. There was no shortage of mysteries when it came to Billy Hargrove.
“I don’t know, somewhere like your house?” Steve asked eventually, sighing heavily.
Billy mimicked his sigh as his stomach growled loudly again, rumbling insistently like a slow clap of thunder. It sounded uncomfortable. “Sure, Harrington, ‘cause my dad would just love it if I rolled up with you looking like this,” he bit out, leaning back in his seat and gesturing to the pink thing tied around his waist. The slit of the gown exposed much more of his leg than Steve would’ve liked, running up the length of his thigh to frame it between the hem that laid squashed between the car seat and his leg. “Fuck it, maybe you should; he might actually pay you for getting my hair cut.”
“It’ll grow back,” Steve said quickly, hearing the obvious melancholic tones of self-pity in his voice. Billy frowned and snorted, rubbing his jaw tenderly. “It will,” he insisted, taking his eyes off the road for a moment to send a look Billy’s way. “I mean, look: your eyebrows already have.”
Once again, Steve thought he was being encouraging, but Billy didn’t even check to see if Steve was being truthful. He opened his eyes and stared out at the passing scenery somberly, taking his hand away from his jaw and letting it fall flat in his lap.
“I want a shower,” he said eventually, wrinkling his nose as though he could smell himself. “Fuck, and some mouthwash.”
Having said this, Billy smacked his lips distastefully, drawing Steve’s attention to his mouth as he tried to cleanse his pallet of the acidic remnants of his sickness.
“You can use mine,” Steve offered, pulling his gaze away to re-focus on the road. “My shower. I have one.”
“Gee, do you really?” Billy drawled quietly, his innate nature to be sardonic unhindered by his nausea or whatever pains he was experiencing. “Guess you know where you can drop me off, then, Harrington.”
Steve clicked his tongue at the snide remark and rolled his eyes. “Smartass,” he muttered, to which Billy cracked a small grin.
“Smartest one I know.”
They didn’t talk anymore after that, despite the many questions Steve wanted to ask now that Billy was conscious and capable of speaking. Could he remember anything that had happened after he’d transformed and escaped? Where had he gone after he’d dragged the other one away? How far had they gone, and how had he known where to go when he’d turned back?
His questions sat on his tongue like an aftertaste that was too rich to swallow down, but he was too tired to ask them, and doubted if he currently had the mental fortitude to comprehend the answers if Billy chose to give him any. More so than trying to figure out what had happened over the course of the night, they needed to discuss what to do going forward now that they’d survived it. Back in the stifling comforts of Billy’s living room, Billy himself had said he’d remain unconvinced of anything until something concrete happened, and it had- so what did they do with that information? What did Billy want to do now that he knew, for certain, what he was? Who did they get involved to help them, and what sort of help could they expect, exactly? What could anyone do for them that they couldn’t do for themselves? Steve sighed heavily; he was far too young to be feeling this old.
They passed by Billy’s Camaro on the way to his house, parked on the side of the road two streets away even though Steve had told him it was fine to park in the driveway because his parents wouldn’t be home. But Billy had insisted, and had off-handedly thrown the conversation away from his weird parking habits to make fun of Steve’s shirt that he was now wearing.
“Is that cop following us?”
Stirred from his thoughts, Steve glanced into his rearview mirror to see what Billy was talking about. Lo and behold, trailing a few hundred feet behind them, Steve recognized the bulky shape of Hopper’s police truck trundling after them.
“Shit,” Steve muttered, running a hand through his hair; he hadn’t expected Hopper to come so soon. He was tired, goddammit; why couldn’t the universe just give him five minutes to catch his breath before it set up the next hurdle? “Uh, yeah, kind of.”
“’Kind of’,” Billy repeated, turning his attention away from the side view mirror to glance at Steve mistrustfully. “What does ‘kind of’ mean?”
Steve took a deep breath as he let the BMW coast up his driveway, putting it in park and letting his head rest against the steering wheel to give himself a chance to just breathe for a minute. “It means he caught us- me, whatever- in the woods last night, and now he knows; he knows about everything and I think he wants to help,” Steve explained, turning his head to the side to gauge Billy’s reaction. For the most part he just sat there looking surprised, but Steve had expected him to look angry. “I think we need his help.”
Billy frowned deeply and knit his eyebrows together. He looked like he had something he wanted to say, but his stomach let out another startlingly loud growl before he was able to say anything. He shut his eyes and groaned, slouching down into his seat as he gripped his stomach tightly.
“What is that, man?” Steve asked, addressing the concerning noises his gut was making as Hopper pulled up behind them. “Like, tell me honestly, are you hurt or about to shit yourself?”
“Shut the hell up Harrington, I’m fucking hungry,” Billy moaned, and under all the stresses that Steve had accumulated, he hadn’t expected that feeding Billy would be added to his pile of responsibilities. Steve’s brows rose up as he stared and began to laugh, unable to help himself as he heard the door to Hopper’s truck open and close.
He was laughing still in his seat when Hopper walked up to them, leaning down to look in at them through the window as Steve laughed loudly and uncontrollably, tears beginning to leak out of the corners of his eyes.

One may frequent clubs, music venues or loud parties as a part of daily life. While one should not compromise with the lifestyle. We can surely take precautions such as using earplugs. Earplugs lower the intensity of the noise. So that the loud music does not harm or damage our eardrums or the inner ear hair cells known as cilia. The polyurethane foam earplugs are very cheap and are available at any pharmacy. People exposed to daily noise during commuting or working at a construction site shoulduse earplugs.  Those who have already damaged their inner ear shouldconsult an Audiologist. They should seriously consider using digital Hearing aids. Use of Hearing aids helps one to smoothly follow the daily routine.

Headphones enhance the music listening experience. But they also harm our ears in the long term. According to estimates by the World Health Organization, nearly 1.1 billion teenagers and young adults worldwide are at risk of noise-induced hearing loss. Mostly from unsafe use of personal audio devices.
There are some simple steps that can be taken to reduce stress caused by headphones to our ear mechanism. First of all, we should not listen to anything at high volumes.  A moderate volume is the best way to listen to music or podcasts. We should try to minimise or totally eliminate the use of in-ear headphones. In-ear headphones cause more damage. Over-ear headphones are a better choice.
While it is too impractical to suggest the total elimination of headphone use in general.A cautious approach in using them will definitely save our ears.We should always take a break if using them for an extended period. Follow the 60:60 rule. Rest your ears for 60 minutes after every 60 minutes of use.
3.    General Protection
One can use special earplugs while swimming. These earplugs reduce damage caused by changes in ear pressure and ear infections. Use of Earplugs during air travel is advisable. Constant engine noise and extreme ear pressure harm the ears.
Use of Ear muffs during winters is advisable. This lessens the effects of extreme cold or harsh winds.
4.    Cleaning your Ears
Generally, ear cleaning is not necessary for most humans. Cleaning earwax is only necessary if one secretes excessive earwax. However, if we do need to clean our ears do remember that cotton swabs or cotton buds are not recommended. Cotton buds end up pushing the ear wax further up the canal. This can lead to temporary hearing loss or infections. We should not insert any sharp-edged object inside our ears in case we need to do any cleaning or scratching.
Take the help of trained paramedical professional or a Doctor. You can also read about the Home methods to clean earwax.
