Why do Akutagawa and Atsushi fit Yin and Yang so well?

may or may not be inspired by some sskk rant I saw on tumblr a few months ago (I'll reference if I remember the creator) and a Pinterest post w this template:

Has anyone else ever notice how yin-yang Akutagawa and Atsushi are? Yeah they are both orphans that were taken in by Dazai and "abused by their handler" ('handler' is wild ngl) but in the main series Atsushi is more Yang and Akutagwa is more Yin, character wise, and even design wise. Yet, in Beast (a spin-off where Akutagawa ends up in the ADA and Atsushi ends up in the PM) the roles are reversed and Aku is more Yang and Atsu is more Yin, further emphasizing that this difference between the two isn't accidental (not claiming simply speculating).

Akutagawa is relatively bad but he has shown how he could be good, in the main series, Wan, and beast. he's undeniably a good brother (just look at how much he cares for his sister in beast, he even joined the ADA and made it his purpose to find her after he learned that she was in the mafia.) He keeps promises, hates meaningless torture-- which believe it or not shows a bit about his character-- (haha he does have emotions even if it may be stemmed from a deep psychological trauma). He also has a mainly dark but light accent wardrobe, from the ends of his hair to the very same accessory that he can't even name. help I ran out of good character traits I think I'm failing

Atsushi is relatively good, and even seems to be blind to it at times, but he has shown his not the best traits. He's kinda like Gon, but less merciless, even when it comes to fights with Akutagawa (sometimes). His good:bad ratio is pretty skewed though, no matter how much he may envy or hate his kindness kinda just... drowns it out. Evil headmaster dies? cry. Evil goth boyfriend partner dies? scream. Evil American enemy still lives? team up with him. Evil 14 year old serial assassin in the port mafia exist? save her.

Although, he's pretty rash/blunt (that Dazai diss was wild aku didn't do anything to deserve that) and its also shown in wan and other scenes in the main series that he would probably participate in a 2017-19 roast battle(hj) and holds some strong grudges. (help I ran out of bad character traits he's too good, its like he's so good and he doesn't even try.) Butttt apperence wise, his singular black hair streak in a head of light whatever-colored-hair (in contrast to Akutagawa's) and accents of black (suspenders, tail-belt-thing that moves as if he was Cat Noir, tie, gloves, pants, shoes) do what Akutagwa's 19th century ruffles do best. Be utterly useless and ugly and feed into the theory that he is a time traveler Contrast.

Now for beast. I'll make this one shorter:

Akutagawa takes Atsushi's role. in this he represents 'in light there is darkness' perfectly. he's on the 'good side' and has the noble goal of finding his sister and his color pallate is lighter but he is still pretty quick to judge and isn't open or super kind.

Atsushi is considered ruthless (because of how violently and mercelesly quick and cold he kills but its really the tiger) but he himself admits that he is scared, scared of it all, especially death (or something like that) so to over come his fear of death, he must become it. That's it. He became the 'god of death' because of his fear of it. His color pallate is much darker and the lightest parts of it is the tiger fur on his coat and his natural features like hair and eyes. He's on the side of 'bad' but he even betrayed dazai for kyouka because he cares about her too much and that part of him he cant change. he will always want to protect all the orphan kids that were suffering like he was because he cant bare to see it, so yeah, in darkness there is light.

Basically, Shin Soukoku canon because opposites attract.

Stop Hating On Chloe Bourgeois!

I feel this needs to be said and I'm tired of the whole Miraculous Ladybug fandom hating on Chloe for her behavior. She only is that way because her mother forced her to act like that. Chloe is a girl who needs to be listened to and to be given love. Audrey is an abusive mother and I have proof.

Evidence 1

In this clip, Chloe has a hard time sharing her true feelings to Ladybug because Audrey always scorned her for showing her true self. Which is why she lies all the time and acts cold. Because she's scared people will act like her mother and push her down. She also tries to hide her tears because she is afraid Ladybug will shout at her for crying like her mom did, that's why we rarely see Chloe cry, her mother yelled at her for crying because it isn't how a Bourgeois should act according to Audrey. And when Ladybug mentions the documentary on her, Chloe denies that she made it and calls herself useless. Because her mother always berated Chloe's creativity and called her useless and ridiculous.

Evidence 2

After Chloe is deakumatized by Ladybug and Cat Noir, Chloe gets sent to London ALONE WITH HER MOTHER! Audrey rants to Chloe about how she had power and still lost and told her that's not the Bourgeois way. After she says "Think you're going on a vacation to London, think again! I'm going to take control of your life again, starting with your education." All the while Chloe is shown to be visibly upset and angry and leaves the area. After her argument with Marinette to try to regain some power to show her mom she isn't useless, she cries, because she realizes she's stuck with her abusive mother on the other side of the world, with no one to help.

So I will once again repeat myself, STOP HATING ON CHLOE BOURGEOIS!

You love the idea of being a mayor. You love everything about mayors, and the concept of an orderly, civil democracy. It all seems so mannerly and reasonable to you. Everyone is friendly and happy, and the city runs like clockwork. The foundation of the government is based on mutual respect between the leader and its people. It is also built on having a really great mayor that everyone loves who is totally amazing and heroic and brave.

see this is the perfect example of how WV’s whole mayor obsession becomes horribly mischaracterized and Flanderized by comic and fandom. at the heart of it, the quirk is a joke and is played for laughs most of the time, however...

Mayors are so much better than kings. You hate kings and you think kings are really stupid. They are petty, bossy tyrants and are really full of themselves and are basically awful in every way. God do you hate kings.

despite it being painted as silly and goofy, it has an actual place in his backstory and the general plot. he doesn’t just like the thought mayoral duty, he fantasizes about democracy because he has a real personal vendetta against monarchs.

meanwhile later portions of the comic and a lot of fanworks just reduce it to “OH HE LOVE THE CANS!!! THE CITY OF CANS!!! HE LOVE LEADING THEM!!!! HE LOVE HIS SASH OF MAYOR!!!! HE LOVES MAYOR!!!!” and nothing else.

I think the most impressive part of Homestuck’s wildly ahead of the game foreshadowing is the coordinates, because Hussie chose actual real life places for every kid to live in right down to the address, even Jade’s fictional island is located at a weird visual artifact in the middle of the ocean on Google maps.

Does this machine look like a DEAPPEARIFIER to you?? Honestly, the idea that an APPEARIFIER could both APPEARIFY and DEAPPEARIFY things is so laughably ridiculous, you would wish someone would DEAPPEARIFY your brain and REAPPEARIFY it with a brain that is more smart and less dumb.

I don’t know why but I particularly like how Homestuck’s paradox system creates fuckin weird slime clone things.

OH AND HERE’S WV: ASCEND.

this flash is so fucking underrated, like, oh yeah sure, we have Enter, Descend, Cascade, Collide, Act 7, whatever, but what about this fucking baby? it’s not the insane or intense flash out there, but this shit just lands for me so well. this is pretty much the point where you are hooked, it’s so dense, so much shit happens at once, and all it’s actually important, it’s so fucking good. I love the little things, like the exile stations matching up with each kids’ entry item, the defined locations for where they all live, the history of Jade’s island, it’s just so fucking GOOD.

it also just has really good art.

Explore is such a banger track as well, a fine fucking work by Buzinkai, godspeed.

if there’s 3 people associate with Homestuck music, it’s Michael Bowman, Toby Fox, and Buzinkai, they made all the good shit.

y’know, I’ve seen Act 2 and Act 3 kinda blend together when it comes to fan perception, and that’s understandable, they’re pretty similar in their content. I do think Act 2 has enough to stand out on its own though. there’s a lot more absurdity with the guardians, Bro Strider is a man who is fuckin insane and ridiculous in every way that is both horrific and amusing, Dave losing his mind, the man WV himself and his Problem Sleuth styled adventure, fun smaller flashes, and just ENDLESS FORESHADOWING.

I have to say that the biggest change in feelings I got was over all the puppet shit. I used to think it was funny, and, well, it’s still funny, it’s really damn funny how these puppets are just all over the place and exist with their perfectly shaped asses. but also, I think the horror has finally set in for me in regards to just how terrifying these things are, just

Six Crimson Cranes (#1&2) by Elizabeth Lim (February 2023)

Shiori, the only princess of Kiata, has a secret. Forbidden magic runs through her veins. Normally she conceals it well, but on the morning of her betrothal ceremony, Shiori loses control. At first, her mistake seems like a stroke of luck, forestalling the wedding she never wanted, but it also catches the attention of Raikama, her stepmother. Raikama has dark magic of her own, and she banishes the young princess, turning her brothers into cranes, and warning Shiori that she must speak of it to no one: for with every word that escapes her lips, one of her brothers will die. Penniless, voiceless, and alone, Shiori searches for her brothers, and, on her journey, uncovers a conspiracy to overtake the throne—a conspiracy more twisted and deceitful, more cunning and complex, than even Raikama's betrayal. Only Shiori can set the kingdom to rights, but to do so she must place her trust in the very boy she fought so hard not to marry. And she must embrace the magic she's been taught all her life to contain—no matter what it costs her.

Would I recommend it to anyone? Definitely, at least for the first book. The second I'd only recommend if you're particularly excited at the idea of a sequel. But if, like me, you were kinda disappointed to know there was one, then don't read it.

Level of (dis)satisfaction based on the summary and my expectations? The first book exceeded all of my expectations and the second ran them over with a 5 tons semi and set them on fire. In a bad way. I was not pleased by that sequel.

My thoughts on it? Six Crimson Cranes was a great story with amazing worldbuilding (like Lim's other series, The Blood of Stars) and compelling characters. The romance was actually very cute and 90% of that was thanks to Takkan (Best Boi of 2k23 probably). This is also the only story where the "evil stepmother" trope was actually done well.

However. What stopped me from giving it 5 stars. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A STANDALONE. (no spoiler mini-rant)

The Dragon's Promise was an unnecessary sequel could have just, not existed with very minor chanches to the ending of SCC. As such, it was a very disappointing read that kinda tainted my experience with its prequel. I'm not sure I'll ever trust Elizabeth Lim to write duologies again.

LIGHT SPOILERS BELOW FOR SIX CRIMSON CRANES AND THE DRAGON'S PROMISE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

30% of the sequel was useless. The whole part with the dragons served no purpose to the plot, we just met one character who is... more or less useful later on? Honestly, I felt like he was just there for fan service since he's the love interest in The Blood of Stars. Shiori, our heroine, is strung along from dangerous situation to dangerous situation, which aren't really useful and actually have the opposite effect than the one intended: I was bored and found the book too long. The villain did not mesure up so it didn't help with my boredom (I think it was another instance of fan service, which is starting to make me think that Elizabeth Lim doesn't know how innovate).

And apparently, Elizabeth Lim doesn't know how to end a series with anything other than a deus ex machina, since she did it for Unravel the Dusk and The Dragon's Promise. When I read the last 10 pages, I literally burst into laughter because of the sheer ridiculousness that came out of nowhere.

Really, Six Crimson Cranes should have been a standalone. It could have been 100% possible by changing a few details at the end, and it would have been way more satisfying than this sequel that was frankly meh in my opinion.

I have thus decided to pretend this sequel does not exist.

Est-ce que tu le conseillerais à quelqu’un ? Totalement, du moins le premier livre. Je recommanderais le deuxième à quelqu'un particulièrement heureux.se d'apprendre qu'il y a une suite. Mais si, comme pour moi, l'idée d'une suite a été décevante, alors je le recommanderais pas.

Niveau de déception/satisfaction par rapport au résumé et tes attentes ? Le premier livre a dépassé mes attentes et de loin, et le deuxième les a écrasées avec un 5 tonnes avant de leur mettre le feu. D'une manière négative. Je n'ai pas été ravie par cette suite.

Avis sans spoiler ? Six Crimson Cranes était une histoire géniale avec un excellent worldbuilding (comme l'autre série d'Elizabeth Lim, The Blood of Stars) et des personnages intérerssants. L'histoire d'amour était mignonne à 90% grâce à Takkan (Best Boi de 2k23, probablement). C'est aussi la seule histoire où le cliché de la méchante belle-mère est bien fait.

The Dragon's Promise était une suite inutile qui aurait pu juste, ne pas exister en apportant de légères modifications à la fin de SCC. En l'état, c'était une lecture très décevante qui a un peu terni mon expérience avec son prequel. Je suis pas sûre de pouvoir refaire confiance à Elizabeth Lim pour écrire une autre duologie.

30% de ce livre n’a servi à rien. Toute la partie avec les dragons n’a pas du tout servi à l’avancement de l’histoire, on a juste rencontré un personnage qui par la suite est… plus ou moins utile ? Honnêtement j’ai l’impression qu’il était là juste pour le fan service vu que c’est le love interest dans The Blood of Stars. Shiori, notre héroïne, se fait trimballer de situation dangereuse en situation dangereuse sans que ce soit très utile, ce qui a finit par avoir l'effet inverse de celui recherché : je me suis ennuyée et j'ai trouvé le livre trop long. Le méchant n’est pas du tout à la hauteur donc ça n'a pas aidé mon ennui (je pense que c'était encore un coup de fan service, ce qui commence à me faire penser qu'Elizabeth Lim ne sait pas se renouveler).

Et visiblement Elizabeth Lim ne sait pas finir ses séries autrement qu’avec un deus ex machina, vu qu'elle l'a fait pour Unravel the Dusk et The Dragon's Promise. Quand j’ai lu les 10 dernières pages j’ai littéralement éclaté de rire tellement c'était rudicule et inattendu.

Vraiment, Six Crimson Cranes aurait dû être un roman seul. En changeant quelques détails de la fin, ça aurait été largement faisable et beaucoup plus satisfaisant que ce deuxième tome que j’ai trouvé franchement meh.

J’ai donc décidé de prétendre que cette suite n’existe pas.

We've reached the era of "dad" (or "pappa", as it is). Probably would've been far creepier to listen to if I weren't used to it from other languages

Anyone else but Adrien Agreste would assume Gabenath is canon after that display with hands-with-rings-on-shoulders

This lot of episodes came out in jumbled order, but Adrien's non-existent transition from Ladybug to Marinette still pisses me off when I'm reminded about it

[insert your own rant about how Adrien's love for Ladybug was set up as something tremendously thematically apt while his feelings for Marinette by all accounts surfaced because apparently she's super special for *checks notes* being the only person to notice something about him that Kagami and Felix also noticed]

I'd be happy for Plagg trying to get him back on the LB track if it weren't for this being the stretch where we're suddenly insisting that it's ridiculous to date someone whose name you don't know, because apparently no-one in the writers' room realised that that is at least half the appeal

Both Adrien and Nathalie are indecisive about whether we're saying "forelska" or "forelsket". Checks out for Adrien but kind of weird hearing the former come out of Nathalie's mouth

I really do appreciate this highlighting of Adrien and Nathalie's relationship and I really do appreciate that this is the episode where Adrien gets to save her

Would've appreciated it more if either he got to do so as Cat Noir, or if we didn't have him go "I'm useless with you, Ladybug" and then prove him right by giving him a lucky charm that only served as an excuse for him to explain how he'd know Safari's identity

REUNION

Nothing much to say about dub performances I guess, buuuuut

did we really need to have Joan of Arc sound like a sixtysomething stuffy aunt. Out of any historical character who should not be giving off Margrethe Munthe vibes,

I appreciate their dedicated to language register though, which kind of makes me regret they couldn't justifiably do the tu-vous distinction with any contemporary characters (speaking of intranslatable jokes from previous episode)

Episode is still... fine on its own, disappointing for its contribution to the trend of "relevant conflict or new storylines? We don't need those" by which I mean

Keeping your identity secret because Hawkmoth can attack your family? I guess S3 Marinette was just a worrywart for no reason, it's always turned out fine for people who Gabriel and Lila and Nathalie haven't spent several episodes breaking down first

People who aren't Lila Rossi getting akumatised on purpose? nbd

Breaking out of an akumatisation? yeah, Alya and Nino and Chloé and Ladybug's mum aren't special, anyone could've done it if they weren't so weak

Hands up anyone who really thinks we'll see Adrien use his kwagatama anytime soon

been a long time without a grub rant so here it goes

i'm still trying to go full seasonal so instead of waiting for end of the month i used all my crystals AND all the shrimps to spark my perfect son but the writing was shit because they use him to push that sinister agenda. also yes spark because nothing's changed. ssr tickets are always useless dupes and you can never roll the chara you want even if he's on rateup. still missing a bunch of grands too bleh

now let's see what has happened since last time: that one cute amnesiac is actually an evil mastermind so forget it. The detective event didn't even have chat noir and literally everyone died; they made like 7 new designs for 2 hours. Very weird vibe. The potato couple is dead but at least they are together but their pseudo son is not playable of course! and they gave the nice moments to sevil not one of the many ikemen and actually popular ones.

ok fine i shouldn't talk cause my favorite isn't popular either and i got some cute content and i'd give him more if i could so i totally get siero but there's so many waifus, even literally marriage and the husbando side is *crickets*

damn the rant was supposed to be about the anni but it had been a while so there was a lot more. anyway where to start -new boy is a waste of a design cause he's not even a character, just a chatbot talking in circles so siete can have a sideplot and idiots can make cuckmemes. So strong, the strongest we can't solve anything without him ooooh. I hate him. I'm rewatching Mob Psycho 100 and fucking hell, I forgot how good and shocking it can be to see two characters struggling about life, at different ages, just as I did/am.

Mob, as a teen, feeling bland and useless and not knowing what to do with his life, afraid he'll fuck up his entire adult life by making one wrong choice. Afraid he'll be alone all his life.

Reigen, the 27yo who feels lost in life and struggles to find a purpose in his life. Trying to find the colour in his life again. While pretending to be a mentor for Mob and giving half-assed life advice when he too has no fucking idea how life is. He PRETENDS to be an adult while trying to find his path again while his family is dissatisfied with his life.

This anime is able to connect with both adults and kids at the same time and I will never stop loving it.

I can't fucking wait for season three. "I knew it all this time. You're a good man, teacher," makes me cry my eyes out even now.

Kuro Neko - Quick Translations

The news is praising Ladybug and "her amazing team" on the news.

The reporter asks if she and Cat Noir are fighting. She denies and says he's a partner like any other and that what's important is choosing the best heroes for each task, with or without Chat Noir.

Adrien says "a partner like any other" sadly and Plagg goes on a rant about camembert. 

“Plagg: perfect! Here’s your chance to show who’s the best cheese on the platter! Camembert, claws out! I mean, Adrien, claws out

!Adrien: it’s useless… 

Plagg: no, it’s not, it’s useful. Ladybug needs you, get up. C'mon, get up.

Chat Noir says he's not gonna make her waste her time anymore and apologizes to Plagg.

Ladybug realizes what he said. "What did he mean by I can take his miraculous?"

She goes back and sees the box and says “oh no, Cat Noir, no”

The heroes start to talk on her ears bc she's late to the the miraculous.

Ladybug is confused about why he quit and Plagg scolds her saying she's been forgetting Cat Noir.

She says she's been trying to give him a break and Plagg says he does want a break, Cat Noir is in love with her and she keeps calling it people while ignoring him.

Plagg says to give the miraculous back to Cat Noir and everything will be fine. 

She says no, she needs a Cat Noir who's not in love with her. 

Plagg says she can't know who Cat Noir is anyways and that she should just let him give back the miraculous to Cat Noir.

Adrien tells Nathalie he's feels bad and doesn't want to go to school

Marinette is freaking out trying to figure out how to choose a new Cat Noir.

Plagg says he got a plan but Tikki has to back him up.

Plagg says Master Fu had two choices for Cat Noir and he can give the miraculous to him. Marinette is worried about giving it to a stranger and leaving Plagg alone outside. 

Plagg convinces her by talking up this boy and Tikki agreeing with him. 

Plagg says he has a plan for them to go back to the way they were before. Just the two of them. 

Adrien says he'll just be rejected and Plagg says he understands how it is, but they can make a perfect Chat Noir to Ladybug's wishes and Plagg says he knows what she wants. 

Plagg says your personality changes your suit so Adrien can make any suit he wants as long as he visualizes it. 

He transform again in the old Cat Noir and Plagg says they can fix it up

Plagg forbids him from doing cat puns. He tells him to act serious like he does when he's with Nathalie and his dad. 

Ladybug says now she'll be serious with him. 

Catwalker talks super formally with her and doesn't laugh at her cat puns.

Ladybug asks personal questions and he says he can't answer.

Ladybug thinks Kuro Neko is Caf Noir and Catwalker tries to convince her it's not him and may be a Sentimonster. 

Ladybug insists she knows it's Cat Noir. 

Catwalker treats Kuro Neko like an actual cat and makes Kuro Neko throw up a hairball. 

Ladybug agrees it's not Cat Noir but she feels bad bc she hurt her partner. Catwalker says Cat Noir was too sensitive and she doesn't own him more attention than she does anyone else. Now he wants to take care of her.

She messes her words with Catwalker as she does with Adrien and he misunderstands it as her wanting to use the Lucky Charm.

The akuma says Shadow Moth he promised him a cat that would obey him and Ladybug realizes it's a Sentimonster with a kid inside. 

Ladybug says Catwalker is perfect. 

Adrien tells Plagg that this isn't working. 

Ladybug says she can't fit Catwalker into the plan and he says that the mission is what's important. 

After he leaves, Ladybug says he's too perfect. 

Ladybug makes the cat eat grass and throw up 

The kid's Cat ran away and Shadow Moth promised him a cat instead.

Ladybug says "I lost my kitty too" and convinced the kid to give him the object. 

"You were perfect" Catwalker and Ladybug say to each other. 

Ladybug dismisses Catwalker and says the ring will go back to the old owner. 

Catwalker says Cat Noir is a lucky guy. 

Plagg says his plan worked perfectly and now they can go back to the old Cat Noir. 

Adrien wonders if he's actually Cat Noir, is true self. Plagg says he's both Adrien and Cat Noir and Plagg is glad to have them both :)

Miraculous Rant.

Where the hell do I begin…

Season 1:

The show was decent in season 1. Some episodes were just mindless filler and probably weren’t needed in the grand scheme of things but they helped us get introduced to the characters, we got to know the plot and the world our characters inhabit. It was good. The love story between Adrien and Marinette was cute and off to a touching and fluffy start.

Season 2:

This season was immediately better than season 1. It had character development, it went more into detail about the lore surrounding the Miraculous and we got to learn more about our characters and their families and the villian’s motives. (HM really went from “I wanna destroy the world” to “I wanna wake my wife from the coma she’s in”).

We got to see new heroes which was fun! We got new characters like Luka and Kagami.

The season finale was epic! The Miraculous team all taking down all the previous villains in the show was awesome. At the end we even got Mari kissing Adrien on the cheek. It was great! (Even though it clearly reset itself in season 3 cause it’s never mentioned again)

I really enjoyed season 2 and it’s probably my favourite out of the 4.

Season 3:

Season 3 was kinda good and kinda bad. We had some great episodes but this is where the show took the wrong turn.

Marinette lost some of her character in season 3. This was the start of her descent into being the Queen of Mary Sues. It’s also where she was crowned the Queen of Stalkers! Her character took a fucking nose dive in this season. We had so many moments that just creeped me the fuck out.

1. The ENTIRETY of Puppeteer 2 🤢🤢🤢 I could not stand that episode. When we reached the dreaded statue scene I physically had to pause it like 10 times. That scene takes about 3 minutes to watch… it took me about 20. I cringed so fucking hard because of the secondhand embarrassment I was feeling. That was not sweet, it wasn’t romantic, it wasn’t the least bit cute… it was a train wreck! It was creepy and stalkerish and it’s a wonder Adrien even spoke to her again after that atrocity!

2. LB delivering the present in Chat Blanc. Two words: STALKER BEHAVIOUR!!! I genuinely could not believe my eyes when I saw LB run her hand across everything in his room and then actually SNIFF Adrien’s pillow. Like WTF!!! 🤮 I’m pretty sure whoever was responsible for that scene clearly thought it was the equivalent of when someone gets their S/O’s jumper or something and it still smells like them. But this turned it up to the nth degree and way passed the line of sanity.

Adrien was extremely under-utilised in this season. He didn’t really do anything. The only episodes we got about him didn’t really focus on him. ‘Felix’ whilst focusing on Adrien’s family didn’t really feature him. ‘Party Crasher’ while a beautiful mess was more about Mari trying to get into the party than the party itself. ‘Chat Blanc’ again focused more on Mari trying to fix her mistake.

We got even more heroes in season 3, not in the right order but they were there. It was fun seeing everyone’s transformations.

Season 3 was also the season of destroying redemptions. The big one obviously being Chloe. Season 2 was setting up this amazing redemption for her and before it could go anywhere it was wiped off the face of the earth during the finale (and don’t worry we’ll get to that dumpster fire later). Gabriel also had any remaining sympathy ripped away from him. How did the guy who stopped Gorizilla from letting Adrien die when he only thought he was CN go from that to using his son like fucking baseball in Chat Blanc when he knew his son was CN. Like I knew you were a shit father but you still cared about Adrien in some way shape or form but after that episode I can see I was clearly mistaken!

Before we get to the finale I want to talk about probably my 2 least favourite episodes from this season: Desperada and Reflekdoll

Desperada:

I fucking hated this episode! The only good thing was Luka getting to be Viperion, other than that this episode was awful!

Marinette was a selfish cringey bitch. Completely ignoring Luka to gush about Adrien to Jagged. Brushing Luka off as soon as Adrien turns up. Immediately cuddling up to Aspik and flirting with him when she needed to focus on the akuma (something which she has told CN not to do many times before)

Adrien, I love you kid but Jesus Christ you were a dumbass in this episode! Aspik’s design was terrible! Aspik himself was awful. I know Adrien tried his best but dude you were given the Black Cat miraculous for a reason! He shouldn’t have tried to be Aspik but even when he did he should’ve called it quits after like 5 resets not 25,913 times.

The only person with a brain this episode was Luka. So well done guitar boy, gold star!

Reflekdoll:

This episode was annoying! It was basically the start of the Marinette can do no wrong streak! When they have to swap miraculous I was happy cause it meant we got to see new outfits and see how they each handle the different powers. It would also serve as a way to get LB and CN to see what their partners role is first hand. Until we actually get to it…

LadyNoire is of course amazing and needs no introduction to using this new miraculous that she’s never used before. She’s cocky and confident and basically just LB in Chat’s costume with his powers.

Mister Bug on the other hand is just useless. He struggles with this new miraculous (like anyone would!) and is stupid and goofy. He has to rely on LadyNoire to solve the lucky charm. They swapped miraculous so shouldn’t that mean that Mister Bug should get the lucky vision and the creative powers that the earrings give him.

Overall Reflekdoll is awful. It was shitty writing and the start of Adrien getting the short end of the stick.

And now the season 3 finale… Just what the fuck. That is my only reaction: what the fuck!

Chloe you poor fucking child! What did they do to you!!! So much potential SQUANDERED!!!!

What was the point in bringing in all these different superheros with unique skill sets, costumes and transformations if you were just going to immediately reveal them to the main villian so they can’t be used again. That’s stupid! If you wanted the shock value that is “Oh no HM knows some of the heroes identities!” Then keep it as only some. Have like Max, Kim and Kagami outside trying to find somewhere to hide but unfortunately they get hit. Or Nino and Alya are hiding but the windows open and they get hit. Have some of the heroes hide so they’re fine! Taking away every ally of LB and CN’s was a stupid move! (Even if they wanted Alya to become a spy have her as part of the like 4 that get revealed or something, it’s not that difficult)

Season 3 was 50/50 for me

Season 4:

So I know season 4 isn’t even halfway through yet but so much is wrong with this season already that I need to vent!

So my biggest problem with this season of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybitch and Rena Rouge, I mean Rena Furtive… shit, Chat Noir! Is that CN is basically pointless! Adrien has been flung over a rainbow and is only remembered when he’s needed as

1. Marinette’s love interest

2. Someone for LB to shout at

3. A plot device

He has basically been sidelined. Partners my ASS!!!

Adrien is being blown off by pretty much EVERYONE! It’s coming to a point where this poor sweet summer child is going to crack! And it is not gonna be pretty… I definitely feel like the writers are leading up to a big fight between CN and LB which will probably end with Chat Blanc 2.0.

I REALLY HATE MARINETTE/LADYBUG!!!! In Season 3 I said it was the beginning of her descent, well in season 4 she’s done it. She’s descended, she has hit rock fucking bottom. She is so unlikable I don’t actually care about her as a person. She has entered full blown stalker territory it’s only a matter of time before she starts killing people for even looking at Adrien! Not to mention that Miss Mary Sue here can’t do anything wrong! She never has to suffer the consequences of her actions, she is always perfect no matter what she does… it pisses me off!)

She’s the Guardian now big whoop. I know what it feels like to be stressed and under pressure so I do understand why she needed to tell someone about it all. I just don’t see why that person had to Alya! Especially considering she has someone by her side every akuma attack going through pretty much the exact same thing. I know she’s worried about CB happening again but as I said before the more she leaves him out the more she is actually pushing that to become a possibility! Plus it makes sense for them to reveal their identities now since LB is now the guardian it’s probably a good idea to know who holds the cat miraculous, she knows everyone else’s identities!

Even if she didn’t want to tell CN her identity she could still explain the situation to him. If she didn’t want to tell him anything (which she doesn’t anyway) then instead of Alya she should’ve talked to Luka! Her boyfriend for all of half an episode (thanks writers…). He’s so sweet and caring and clearly loves her so much! If she wanted someone to confide in then why not choose the person you clearly wanted to date but couldn’t because of that very reason! (Yeah I know it’s kinda a moot point now since Luka knows both identities but still). He wanted to try and comfort her so it would’ve been the perfect moment for it. That way you could still date him and he’d know why you had to suddenly leave dates halfway through! But no break the boys heart instead!

Adrien and Marinette were both such fucking idiots in the first 2 episodes. Like why would you start a relationship with someone when you know your heart isn’t in it! That’s called leading someone on and is a really shitty thing to do to someone! No wonder Kagami and Luka ended up akumatized!

Another aspect of season 4 I don’t like is Rena Furtive. Yes ok having a spy for your side is a good strategy but when said spy basically tells an important member of a duo that the 2 person job doesn’t involve them… it just really ticks me off! Alya you are the sidekick to LB and CN! Chat isn’t!

Miraculous specials:

The Miraculous World specials suck! Shanghai is better than NY but still has its problems. Both specials add nothing to the overall plot/lore of the show apart from trying to set up some weird cinematic universe…

NY special:

One of the worst things I’ve ever had to sit through! The plane scene alone I paused a few times. I want to say well done to Mari for trying to move on from Adrien (especially considering I’m pretty sure she’s dating Luka at this point) but I can’t help but think it’s just to give her character some pointless development that goes nowhere and doesn’t actually develop anything!

LB can pretty much fuck off at this point! I hate her! She put all this shit on CN (like she doesn’t know exactly how that feels). It’s like why does she get to go off on holiday but CN can’t. LB should’ve stayed in Paris for 3 reasons:

1. She’s recently become the guardian meaning it would probably be best that she stayed with the Mircle Box

2. She’s the only one who can purity the akumas

3. If she’s so sure about being the boss then she should take responsibility of Paris and the citizens.

What really pisses me off about her is what she says to CN during the big fight. “I can’t trust you”… surely you could have this conversation afterwards since you’re supposed to be focusing on taking down the villian! Plus everyone bashes Adrien for giving his miraculous up in this episode but look at it from his point of view: His partner and best friend just said she couldn’t trust him which in turn caused him to cataclysm someone and essentially kill them. That’s gonna take a toll on anyone, especially a 14 year old! He probably thought in that moment. “Ladybug needs a partner she can trust and someone who won’t mess up and kill someone. She needs a better partner.” It makes sense he renounces his miraculous! I’m just upset that in doing so he loses Plagg who is pretty much his only friend who actually understands what Adrien goes through at home.

When Uncanny gets CN to come back, LB acts like it’s not her fault in the first place that he feels inadequate! She didn’t even apologise for saying what she did! He apologised for lying about not being in Paris but nope LB wasn’t in the wrong at all and didn’t have anything to apologise for 🙄… (yes the LadyNoir hug was amazing but I just wish it was under different circumstances!)

Also are we not gonna mention Gabriel Agreste almost starting WW3??? He wanted to launch a fucking missile!!!

Shanghai:

As I said before, this special is way better for several reasons.

We got MariChat! (Best side to the love square imo). This special actually had some semblance on a plot. Fei, whilst a bit op, was a cool character. It was nice to see Wang Cheng again.

However once again there were many problems.

A big one being Marinette yet again! (What a shock! 😒 I’ll come back to this). Another was that once again HM’s motivation has changed. How is getting the Prodigious gonna help bring back Emilie??

Back to Marinette… The fact that the words “Huh?! There must be some kind of mistake! I always know what's up with Adrien! … His 5 first names and every corresponding name date, his yearly schedule, even his shoe size! If there were anything to know about him, I would know it!” come out of her mouth whilst she is flipping through his schedule that she keeps in her pocketbook is a hugh red flag!!! That is not cute or adorable! That’s messed up and Adrien needs to fucking run and maybe possibly go into witness protection… Marinette is a full blown stalker! Not to mention the GPS she has (that could just be the find my friends app on iphone but still).

It also is extremely rude of her to use not only her great uncle’s birthday but also a lie about wanting to know her Chinese heritage in order to go to Shanghai to stalk her obsession, I mean crush. This could’ve been avoided if the Dupain-Chengs were going to Shanghai for the purpose of celebrating Wang Cheng’s bday and then Adrien just so happened to be in Shanghai.

Also this means LB left Paris without telling CN! I know CN did the same but again he can’t purify the akumas. Plus he has a reason he couldn’t stay in Paris, Mari just went cause her crush did. Great guardianship there Marinette.

This was also the last time CN actually did something. Even if it was for a short while before LB and her female partner took over (the beginning of a theme…)

Other things:

There are 2 other things that I wanna say but felt they needed a separate bit.

In Furious Fu, Su-Han has a rule book that he uses to tell Marinette which rules she has broken. At the end of the episode he tells her that is she breaks 1 more rule that he will take the Miraculous and the Miracle Box off her, which fair enough but wouldn’t it be helpful to leave the rule book with her?! How can she be wary of not breaking anymore rules when she doesn’t even know what the rules are??

Now the big one: Master Fu…

Where do I even start with him. He is so fucking manipulative!! He is Asian Dumbledore!

He decides to leave these extremely powerful jewels in the hands of 13 year olds! Surely leaving the miraculous to someone in their 20s would’ve been better!

He clearly favours LB over CN even though the Ladybug and Black Cat are supposed to be partners! Wouldn’t it make sense for them both to be in contact with the guardian from the start?? He randomly started introducing rules such as if LB and CN find out each other’s identities they would lose their miraculous… what kind of bullshit rule is that? It also came out of fucking nowhere!

Final Thoughts:

But to summarise all of that: Miraculous is on quite a steep decline but I’m invested at this point and I am genuinely curious as to where the fuck this will go.

Marinette needs professional fucking help before the writers even consider canonising Adrienette cause at the moment she is not what Adrien needs!

Adrien needs to stand up for himself! He needs to pull LB to the side and tell her what he feels and what he’s going through cause he is on the precipice of a breakdown!

(Small point that’s more to do with the fandom: when searching for fanfics it’s really annoying that Adrien Agreste/Chat Noir Bashing is a tag but Marinette Dupain-Cheng/Ladybug Bashing isn’t. Why does everyone think Marinette can do no wrong???)

A wish for a different life - Adrien AUGreste Day 7

Shorter and in Luka’s POV. For the most part the story’s been in Adrien’s and I don’t really write a whole lot in Luka’s POV so it felt good to practise. I wanted to get into a whole discussion of when Chat Noir - or Catseye in this case - was really important when it came to winning, but I felt like a lot of the main point came down to how Chat felt when he was considered not important enough and I feel like that always affected Adrien even if he wouldn’t say much about it, which is why he’ll say it now. I’m sure people can give whole discussions on how Chat is important in fights. Please do.

“It’s so stupid! Like really, how can she think that’s correct? She’s not a sidekick!”

Luka bit down a smile as Adrien ranted away. He’d bumped into him on his way home after school as Adrien needed to pick up an order of fabric. Said package was sitting in the basket on his bike as he listened to Adrien. Turns out that Alya had posted her video from the Captain Hardrock fight and Adrien had learned how people classify their heroes. He wasn’t very happy to learn they thought Catseye as Scarlet Bug’s sidekick.

“I did some research. Not counting Alya’s Scarlet Bug heavy blog – Scarletblog really? – I’ve found that there are a number of Akumas that would have ended differently if Catseye wasn’t there. In fact, some that took longer without her there.”

“You’ve given this a lot of thought.” Luka mentioned.

“Of course, I have. Maybe it’s because of all the magical girl animes I watch, but none of them have sidekicks, that aren’t fully animals. The people they fight with though, those are their partners. Just like Catseye is to Scarlet Bug. In fact, I’m sure if I track this guy down, he’ll agree with me.”

Luka couldn’t help but laugh at how confident Adrien sounded.

“Ok, first off, isn’t it true that without her Cataclysm it’s almost impossible to break the akumatized item?”

“Yes, so I’ve heard.”

“Ok, Timebreaker? Only way Scarlet Bug managed to win that was by tricking Timebreaker into going back in time. Still needed Catseye to keep them busy and break the skates. Marinette said when Nathaniel was turned into Evillustrator, it was Catseye who mainly saved her. When she was missing when Juleka got akumatized, didn’t it take so much longer to get the item?”

“That it did.”

He listened as Adrien continued giving a full rundown on times where Catseye had been more the hero or when Scarlet Bug was at a loss without her. Luka had heard a fair few people turn their nose up at both heroes but more so Catseye, thinking her useless when Scarlet Bug fixed everything. But most didn’t seem to realise that the two needed each other to work. Adrien hadn’t been in Paris that long, it was 2 months already, but here he was giving example after example as to why Catseye was important.

“Adrien, I didn’t want to interrupt, but did you want to get ice cream while you explain more?”

The annoyed expression that had been on the Italian teen’s face since he bumped into him dropped and brightened up into that sunshine smile. “Sure!”

They found Andre’s cart and Luka held the cone as Adrien would sweep a scoop every now and then during his explanations.

“It’s not just the fights and her skills, though her focusing on the victims while Scarlet bug deals with the media is probably a massive plus. Her ears are like Inuyasha ears, you wanna touch them.”

“I hear she purrs too.” Luka said, taking the spoon to have his own bite.

“Ok, yes. She just genuinely approachable. No offense to Scarlet Bug, yes, he saved my life, but I feel like time spend with Catseye would be calming.”

“For someone who doesn’t know a whole lot about them, you’ve got some pretty strong opinions.”

Both Scarlet Bug and Catseye fight like hell to help them. why does the ability to fix everything make one better than the other? And ok, this might be the anime nerd talking, but all those magical hero stuff have something in common, a mentor who has more knowledge of what they can do. I read Alya’s post about Scarlet Bug being part of a line of themed heroes. People seem to forget black cats used to mean good luck, that they still do. What if their mentor focuses more on what everyone else thinks and not what it was supposed to be? I mean, why a ladybug and a cat? Why those two? Clearly, it’s for a reason and if people start ignoring why they’re partners, a team, not a hero and his sidekick, I think it’ll mess up everything. If people feel like they aren’t wanted, they’ll pull away and things can get worse. What if Hawkmoth manages to akumatize Catseye if she starts to feel that way?”

Luka stared at Adrien, who truly looked concerned and scared about what could happen to Catseye. Someone who didn’t know them very well but worried so much about how something as small as being called a sidekick as opposed to a partner could affect someone. Not for his own safety but for the safety of someone else.

“Adrien? If they do have a mentor or a guardian, I think you’d be way better suited. For you to not know a lot but still be worried and care, that says a lot about you. you should probably explain this to Alya, see if you can’t get her on your side. I’m sure once people hear what you have to say, they’ll start to see different.”

“You think so?”

“I really do. You’re right, Paris should remember that the two are partners. When missing the other, they don’t work as efficiently and just like they take care of them, they should try and extend the same to the heroes, even if it’s just the little things.”

“Good. Ok, halfway through I was wondering if I was sounding like one of those ‘it’s not accurate’ antis at conventions.”

Luka didn’t really know what that meant but he laughed anyway. “I think you made valid points if that’s what your asking. want the last bite?” he asked, holding the cone. He let Adrien eat it out of his hand, taking note of his red ears as he tried acting cool. “Come on. I’ll take you home.”

I couldn't care less about everyone in Marinette's class getting a miraculous. It's kind of unnecessary and some of the powers are dumb, like what exactly is Juleka powers, Pigellas or even the monkeys one? These powers are useless compare to what the others can do. And the snake miraculous is just the rabbit miraculous imo.

I mean the show is about Ladybug and Cat Noir. The temp heroes are just there in the background without proper buildup. There just there to follow Ladybug's commands like a Pokemon.

If I was the one writing this idea, I would imply that Ladybug or Cat Noir can't use another miraculous because they are just so bad at it. That's why they got their respective miraculous, that's the one they are more capable of using and adapting to. So, they call upon their friends to help, since they can't use it, with proper buildup of course.

I would probably just leave Queen Bee to find hers the way she did. Yes, the temp heroes would struggle at first them at first but quickly adapt to them like Ladybug and Cat Noir. I would probably make them like a team whenever they need to be with Ladybug and Cat Noir still remaining the duo they are.

(I have no idea how this rant turned into a fanfic prompt. LOL.)

It does seem like the writers are running out of powers to give the temp heroes, and since the season finale is obviously going to feature all thirteen temp heroes (assuming Rena Furtive joins the battle), I’m pretty sure it’s going to be an incoherent mess as opposed to a climactic gathering like the Avengers assembling.

Guess who's back baby!

Surprise, Surprise! I'm not dead! Sorry for not being as active as I used to be recently I have been very busy with school, extracurricular's, and other stuff. But I'm back now and I'm here to talk about the newest MLB episode "Kuro Neko".

So "Kuro Neko" was recently released and I have many, MANY things to say about this episode. And as we all know from the many posts about MLB this will lead to a. . .

A RANT! So let's just dive in!

(And yes I skipped doing the usual overly detailed summary ((again)) because I am really sleep deprived right now and I just want to get my thoughts out now, and it's totally not because I forgot what happened in the episode heheheheheh :))

Warning: Spoilers from the episode "Kuro Neko"

(Also, as always I am re-watching the episode as I type this so I might have some unnecessary details. Anyway! Let's get into it!)

Also another warning this rant is going to contain a lot of Adrien salt, so be prepared.

First things first, why is AdRieN so butt hurt about being called a "parntner like any other"? He should be grateful that she even said anything about him, and being called a "partner like any other", in my opinion, is a compliment, in his case, because of how he hasn't been involved in many battles, and she basically is saying he's as good as the other temporary heroes (who are actually doing something to save paris). Not to mention, the fact that he's not even helping in the fight while the other heroes are, when this is live on the news and all he's doing is moping in his room, while all this is happening outside. Like, at this point you don't have the right to complain about you not being on a higher label then the other heroes, when your not doing anything.

And I know that some people will say "but since he's a young model his schedule is occupied with photo-shoots and he's so busy all the time" well Ladybug/Marinette has a pretty occupied schedule with her having to keep up with school, be guardian, and still have the time to hang out with friends so they don't have another "Gang of Secrets" incident (not to mention, her stress levels being so high, but she still finds a way to keep her composure.). Not to mention, Adrien's schedule didn't seem to stop him from helping out in battles in the last three seasons. And he's not even doing anything in this scene, let alone this episode, he's just sitting on the couch, watching TV, doing absolutely nothing, while Ladybug has to figure out how to save Paris and defeat Shadowmoth and his army of akumas.

Then, when there's a perfect chance to prove that he's not just a "partner like any other" he doesn't even do anything because he's so butt hurt about what Ladybug said, saying it's "useless", just because she didn't give him a higher label then the other temp. heroes. Also, not to mention Plagg trying so hard to lift Adrien's spirit's up, while he doesn't even care (I'm also kinda mad at Plagg, but we'll get to that later.).

Okay, so Chat Noir get's to the scene right after the battle and all the temp. heroes disperse. Then, he tries to help out Ladybug by trying to offer to help with collecting the miraculous, so at least he's trying to do the bare minimum. Though, because of Chat's attempts to help she get's mad at him for distracting her and wasting her time. Now, many people may see this as a seen, in which Ladybug got out of line and shouldn't have yelled at Chat and I totally agree with that. I believe that she shouldn't had yelled at Chat in the first place, and should've dealt with him in a more calm, and more civilized manner. BUT (and this is a big one) I think that her getting mad at Chat is justifiable because look at this situation in Ladybug's perspective. Here's a guy, who's supposed to be your partner, but hasn't been helping you like he should, while you have all these responsibilities as guardian of the miracle box (not to mention, while he is in battle he just either flirts or sacrifices without so much as a warning, or even both). And sure maybe she shouldn't have called on so many temporary heroes, but what other choice does she have when she's the only person in battle, she can't just wait for him forever, she's going to have to call for back up. And sure, maybe she should've called him to make sure that he's okay or he's aware of an akuma, but at a certain point, when a person just stops arriving at times of battle and is not answering your calls you just eventually give up and take manners into your own hands.

Then, Adrien just gives up without so much explaining his problems to Ladybug. And sure maybe Ladybug saying for him to give up his miraculous (which was actually Chat's idea in the first place) was a bit insensitive, but this was during the heat of the moment, in which she was already stressed with her responsibilities as guardian. And I get it Adrien feels like he should give up everything because of how Ladybug is pushing him aside, but can you blame her at this point, he has not been helping out like he should be, he doesn't even really pay attention in battle, he sacrifices himself in the worst moments without even consoling her, and so much more. Not to mention, instead of just giving up because someone that you put to a high standard doesn't acknowledge you (because they have better things to do), you should think about what you're doing first and of the reason why you're a hero in the first place, to save Paris from the acts of your father I mean Shadowmoth. So, sure maybe he has the right to be upset but that does NOT give him the right to just give up because he is not acknowledged for doing nothing.

Not to mention, the actual fact that he's giving up the one friend that truly believe he was a great hero, Plagg. And even after Ladybug says her comment, she immediately realizes that she's in the wrong, so in reality she really cares about him. And has to abandon her task as guardian to try and talk to him. Not to mention, all the heroes calling her are just an example of how much stress she's under.

Now, let's talk about Plagg's talk with Ladybug. I get it he's upset that his owner and friend gave him up, but that does not mean he can blame Ladybug for everything. If anything he should understand Ladybug and how much pressures she's under, being guardian and all. And Plagg has seen first hand what Adrien does instead of helping out (via the first scene) sure her pushing Chat's feelings away were insensitive and they should've talked it out. But if Chat had been willing to talk to Ladybug about his role then she totally would have tried to make time and talk to him. Not to mention, it's not even her job to make sure Chat's feelings are at bay and that he's happy. If anything she should work on herself more knowing how much she put's other before herself. Then, Plagg brings up the fact he's in love with her (which is starting to feel more like infatuation as the series goes on). And I said before about the temp. heroes what is she supposed to do when he's not there and things get out of hand, she's going to have to call for back up.

You know at this point, the more the series goes on, the more and more I'm willing to just let Shadowmoth get the miraculouses and let the show be over. The amount of stress that Ladybug is under just because she's worried of breaking Chat's heart is just so stupid because she shouldn't even care anymore. Instead, she should be worrying about the safety of Paris instead of worrying about a broken heart, that can probably healed easily. But I digress.

You know, I get why Plagg want's to have Adrien as Chat Noir again because their friends. But his previous actions in other episodes have proven that he's not as competent as people say he is. Also, was the montage of Adrien throwing everything related to superheroes really necessary? We get it he's sad, what's new. (I'm sorry if I'm salting too hard on Adrien, but this episode really pissed me off).

Marinette, honey, relax and go to sleep and stop worrying about Chat Noir, you look like you've done like 10 different drugs in one sitting. I swear one day she's going to go insane.

I swear, if I hear one more thing about how the LS is in love with each other but Ladybug/Marinette is in denial and can't see it, I will freaking cry myself to sleep (oh what I already do hehehehehe...).

Also, NATALIE IS BACK AND SHE'S ALIVE AND WALKING! We stan a this queen (even if she helps out Shadowmoth) but we still stan. Ahhh, to be rich and not to worry about having to go to school because of a minor inconvenience of a broken heart. I freaking want to dieeeee.

Now, what's with Gabriel's change of attitude because in "Glaciator 2" when Adrien was acting the same way as he is now he was all over that, but now he's like, "He'll be fine by the next photo shoot, in three days". Like, damn that was a fast change in character.

Wow, I guess Thomas Astruc ran out of characters to push the LS even more together, so the last resort are the kwami's yayyyyyy *sarcasm*. You know I just like to say that Plagg legit tricked Marinette by saying every quality of a good and respectful partner to prove that Chat Noir is what she needs in the end. The Chat Noir that has proven multiple times that he is reckless and does not respect Ladybug's wishes to stop doing stuff by saying the alibi "I just can't because I love you to much!", this is just ironic at this point.

Okay, how many times have they used that same screenshot of Shadowmoth taking over the world? I mean, I know it's for humor, and comedic effect, but come on, this show is already so repetitive.

Now we get to see SadAdrien, woohoo, this totally not something we keep seeing over and over again throughout season four. Not to mention, that the main factor of why Adrien is sad in the first place is because of Ladybug. . . AGAIN. I swear one day this show is going to kill me.

You know, I just realized that Adrien was able to not go to school because he had a broken heart. . . A BROKEN HEART. WHAT IS THIS PRIVILEGE.

Kudos to Plagg for sticking up Adrien even if he doesn't acknowledge how much sh*t Plagg is doing just to get back with his "best friend". I mean, at first, I was a bot mad at Plagg, but when Plagg first introduced his idea to Adrien he legit was to "depressed" about even if he became Chat Noir Ladybug would still reject him. I mean, I get it when you get rejected multiple times your going to feel pretty dejected after a while, but that doesn't mean you abandon all your other duties in your life because of it, you get back up and move on with your life. And I feel for Plagg in the episode because Plagg has proven multiple times that he cares for Adrien so much and wants to do what's best for him and to make him happy. But what does Adrien do in return, absolutely nothing. I mean, sure there's the cheese supply, but that's just food. Plagg has actively tried to bring his spirits back up multiple times, and he in the episode he has tricked Ladybug into giving him another chance. But I digress. . .I guess.

Okay, I know that Adrien is trying to learn how to be the "perfect" partner for Ladybug, but was the montage really necessary? Also did they really spend HOURS to just pick a super hero name. . . just WHYYY.

And thus begins the montage of Ladybug saying that Cat walker is "perfect". I swear if I have hear that bs one more time I am going to freak out. Not to mention, in the end of the fight she's all like "I'm sorry Cat Walker, I just can't work with you because you're to perfect and I miss Chat Noir." . . . I'm just going to lay here and wait for something new to happen. Also, Ladybug legit developed a lowkey small crush on this dude, even to the point to when they were parachuting together she legit had a face of like pure pleasure (that just sounds weird, I'll change it later) and was like almost feeling him up. Beach, please. I know this is probably a "tactic" to try and make Ladybug realize she might actually have some type of feelings for Chat Noir but COME ON, as I said before, this show is too repetitive for it's own good.

Now onto my favorite segment, in which we talk about the main akuma or sentimonster! So the main thing I have to say about this sentimonster is that it looks like a Egyptian muscle cat. I mean, look at the biceps of that thing, that dude is ripped, but it looks like it skipped abs day.

I know this might sound weird but I kinda find it funny that the only reason that Ladybug thinks that Kuro Neko is Chat Noir is because of the bell, like that isn't a common thing to have, cat wise. You know every time that Ladybug says that she knows everything about Chat Noir I just want to hit my head on a wall because that line keeps reminding of Chloe, Lila, and Chat Noir. Those characters have said that line so many times throughout the course of the show that at this point every time someone says they no someone so well in an episode its kinda contradicting.

Wait a second. Did this dude really find a way to catch the attention of this huge ass cat by saying, "Meow meow"? And did Ladybug really find it endearing and was also mesmerized by this?. . . I'm so done with this show.

The scene in which Cat walker is like holding out his hand to Ladybug, I can legit hear the screams of the fandom. Both screaming because of the LS and because how Ladybug "fell" for this guy already. I'm legit in the group in the corner that doesn't really care because we probably already know how this going to end *cough* Chat Noir just comes back *cough* cough*.

Meanwhile Ladybug is "starstruck", the cat is just playing with the ferris wheel that could probably destroy many buildings and endanger many peoples lives, but you know what let's just have this unnecessary pause for a minute.

Did this f***king huge cat just spit out a f**cking child? Again I feel like I'm losing brain cells as I watch this. Also, did Ladybug just refer to Chat Noir as "her kitten"?

Me: *hears LS fans screaming*. . . Mamma Mia here we go again. . .

Ok, so its officially canon that Adrien's Chat Noir persona is his actual personality or at least part of it, its not like we already know this but ok. And of course before we end this episode we have to have a LS scene in which each parties apologize, yay not repetitive at all *sarcasm*.

And that's the end of the episode! (finally)

Okay, so throughput my rant you can probably tell this is not my favorite episode, probably on e of my least favorites actually. Sure, this episode some depth into the relationship of the LS, but that's it. Not to mention they mainly focused on SadAdrien, which, in my opinion, we've seen to much of. And all the excuses they point out around on why Chat Noir is important is something that we DON'T need to have shoved in our face again. *In a high pitched voice* "Well at least it didn't have a lot of LS scenes". Ohohoho, Sorry high pitch voice that is totally not me, but we have multiple scenes in which Ladybug is complimenting Cat Walker and even seen crushing on him hehehe not to mention the repetitive ending scene! Man was this episode long (even though it was only 21 minutes.)

All in all, though I really don't care for this episode cause this development might not really have a big impact on episodes and seasons to come because you know character development in this show is a dream.

Anyway, those are all my thoughts on the episode and I have a feeling that I'm going to be writing another rant because a new episode is coming out soon, so I have to be mentally prepared.

I learned the prodigious are stronger than the miraculous and I can't disagree more about it!

Don't take this as Shanghai salt because it isn't! I love the Shanghai special and the renrens/prodigious etc!

Is just me ranting over something thats is basically useless for ml story telling XD

The renrens/prodigious are the same as kwamis/miraculous but somehow they get called stronger? Stronger then even destruction and creation?

First of all are renrens more powerful than kwamis? I still don't comprehend they existence, by the way they don't seem any different than any other kwami and they work basically the same unless the said dragon power is more powerful and ehhhh that's not a good excuse, they literally have creation and destruction and they are the base for all powers in the world! Is it because the prodigious gives you more powers? Which ok but all the others are not given any shown on being really more powerful than any normal miraculous, literally the only powerful is the dragon and yet the only difference between the dragon miraculous and the prodigious is the shape-shifting and that for what we know the powers are not so limited but you still need to work through to be able to use that power.

And then theres the creation of the miraculous how makes no sense at all, is that blue lion (I'm awful with names sorry) a renren too? If yes than he looks and acts much more powerful than the protected renrens themselves, I'm not dismissing the renrens i like them i think their designs are the cutest especially the snake and the prayingmantris and I do LOVE shape-shifting (although I would also love half transformed visuals but ok) but they being put in a high rank and nothing is shown to prove it makes me very annoyed especially that in my head there's nothing stronger than creation and destruction they are as I said before the core of everything!

I made a full rant on this sorry! 😅 but if something is suppose to be powerful show me it better, chat noir using his power just on a piece of metal was enough for me to go "oh shit he can kill something with his hands if he wants to!" But the renrens are normal by the way they show them and I would be fine if it was more of a "they are a different creature how looks alike to kwamis but works a bit different like the kwamis they are also powerful so guardians keep it safe" like there's no need to say they are super powerful and put a guardian taking care of them to show something because it was the same with the miraculous! There's no difference, that's it, no difference is made between them to give me powerful feelings over them.

They are cool, they are interesting and they are charming! they just don't have a good difference from what we already got but they get credit for something that was never shown true.

I do wish that if lady dragon does get an spinoff they show more and they give me more background information, I love their idea but I can't take them as more powerful than kwamis.

Also idk why I care about the comics I literally just should scrap the comic out. Also pls don't Sal on this, but you are free to refute anything I said and I would in fact appreciate it.

They are entitled to their opinion but you are entitled to have your fun. You're not a bad person for blocking.

Don't let anyone ruin the fun for you.

The fandom will grow bigger and bigger as DA4 approaches. Some will be bent on being trolls and mean. Some will shit on your favorites. Some will start conflict on purpose.

And of course, we'll also meet new, wonderful people and we'll have lots of fun. Appreciate those people. Surround yourself with them. If that makes you happy, if being excited for da4 makes you happy, then allow yourself to be happy without shame.

I'll be drastic from now on with blocks and soft blocks. DA have been my comfort games for the past few years. And I refuse to let others ruin that for me. Yeah, da4 won't be perfect and yeah, people will get mad.

But I refuse to get mad.
