So fun fact, there was at one point where one of the actors in Naka De Salon was in old gmmtv stuff, which is what Tiny was in, which included like 4 out of the 12 U-Prince series, but Tiny had to be in one the U-Prince series that this actress was not in. If she had been, then the degrees would have been 3.

From what I could tell U-Prince was a series of unrelated miniseries that gmmtv produced in like the late 2010s. Unlike anthology series like War of Y or ThirTEEN Terrors, that just have one joint mdl page, or even Our Skyy which has a joint page and separate pages for each story within, it seems like it's more like Club Friday, which is to say there is no joint page and the only thread connecting them is the prefix at the beginning of the title and being made by the same company (kinda like the HIStory series as well) so I'm not going to count it as a connection if it's not the same show.

did this need an explanation? probably not. but I just wanted y'all to know that I tried really hard to get this to 3 degrees and was very sad when it didn't work

oh my god, it's John and he's looking normal for once.

He is left-handed! Though in Muay Thai, he is ambidextrous. The leftedness is more of a surprise thing more than anything else. He wasn't teased for this growing up but his teachers did gently encourage him to write with his right. His brother was right-handed, lol.

John's eye color is amber, but tends to be listed as (light) brown. This is actually not due to being a werewolf but because of an ancestor way back on his mom's side. (Said ancestor was royalty/king of a very obscure kingdom, what was it, roughly 700 years ago. Also a demon had beef with him... lmao.) As far as he knows, he's the 4th or 5th to have this color. Most people believe that they are contacts and he's had to prove that that's his eye color.

For a while, he didn't know what his actual birthday was. Reason for that is his twin (fraternal) brother, Jacob, was born before midnight and John was born after midnight and because of that, it was generally celebrated on that weekend. His teachers wondered why Jacob knew his but John didn't until their parents explained it.

Speaking of! He had a twin brother. Past tense. Long story short, Jacob died of a really aggressive form of brain cancer when he just turned 9. (9 and a day.) Before he died, when John was gonna get his hair shaved off in solidarity, Jacob told him not to and even asked him to promise that he wouldn't. (John takes promises very seriously.) He's the reason why his hair is long. (and here is what he would've looked like as an adult, along with their parents.)

John is a cat guy and I'm a little surprised that he doesn't have more aside from Spaghetti. There's something about them that fascinates him and the feeling is mutual. Mostly bc he just knows how to read their body language. The perk of being a werewolf is his ability to 'talk' with a lot of animals or at least understand them. The cats that are very talkative are a delight.

Bonus: John's bi. He figured this out pretty quick.

Evidently, Noelle had not heard about the new heart. However, after her fit of coughs, she paused and looked her friend over again. It wouldn't have been her serum, as she absolutely would've heard about that kind of breakthrough.

"Did you- Do you have a new heart, Iyana?" Her tone was still surprised, but hopeful.

this is really apropos of nothing, but I like to think that John has given Eli cards and such on Father's Day.

Eli is his uncle (and coach) and stepped in as a father figure after Ian died. In fact, before that happened, they all sat down with each other. In the event that something happens to Ian and/or Noelle, he and Bea would take care of John and Jacob.

There was a time period after Ian's death that John's mom's mental state just went (his as well but it's compounded by the fact that Jacob had died not even two years prior.) John kinda bounced between his and his relative's place. This was around the time that he was getting serious with Muay Thai; at least it kept his mind off of things for a while. He was very good at it, but he needed that balance.

After dinner, Eli would sit and talk with John to get some idea where his mind's at and try to help him navigate his thoughts, feelings, fears as best as he could. When it was clear that John wasn't having it, he'd tell him to "go get the gloves." -- meaning "let's fight it out."

Sure -- that sounds like a bad idea but it just worked for John. He needed something tangible to get his grief and anger under control and there was always a lesson, even if it didn't make sense to John at the time. A bit of tough love, but Eli knew when to fall back. As time went on, John simmered down somewhat (but there were Moments as a teenager).

Eli would ask Bea if he's keeping his promise to Ian and his sister. He often worries about John even if he doesn't quite show it. (He does, lol.) Bea replies that he's basically treating him like their child, if they had one. "I mean you taught him how to shave," she points out, "tie a tie. He's stopped getting into trouble. He's smiling. You know how long it's been since that boy did that? That Ramirez side of him is starting to show."

And ofc, Eli had The Talk with John (more like a series) and it was about as awkward as you'd think it went (as with Noelle). John fessed up that he was bi and Eli was like "Ah. I understand." ("Unc, what do you mean by that? // "I'll tell you later." // "???")

He was definitely there when John got his ass beat at his first attempt at the Junior World Championship (this may be between 18-23?). I mean "damn, I might quit over this" ass whoopin'. Eli sat him down and basically told him, "you made a promise to your brother. I know you don't break promises. You can sit here and feel sorry for yourself or you can get up and try again. What's it gonna be?"

(John did win the next year -- a rematch, even.)

So! Every year, as a thanks, John always gets him something and spends the day with him. It never fails to make him teary-eyed though...
