the nocamp strategy explained/simplified but from memory

nocamp is a strategy initially posted by reddit user / youtuber kinwai that is in my opion/expiernce a better way of playing many hunters

the core conceptual differnce between more standard, camping focused strategies is that, upon downing your first chased survivor, you chair them, and then leave to target one of the two non-rescueing survivors the reasoning for doing this is multifodal, but the core is that identityv is a game designed arround your average hunter camping, but when assuming near-ideally timed successful rescues with tide turner, camping one survivor out provides enough time for the two not in chair or rescueing survivors to get game-winning ammounts of progress on the ciphers by instead chasing another survivor instead of camping, you ensure atleast 1 additional survivor off of ciphers, since they still Need to do the rescue itself, and have the oppertunity, if not to down them, which would itself generate substantial pressure, to obtain resources from them or inflict injuries that prevent them from being able to successfully rescue a future survivor the hunters who most benefit from this strategy are those who have decent chasing tools, or good mobility, but lack ways of either pressuring survivors off generators or efficentlty preventing rescues hunters like feaster or clerk don't work as well with the strategy, while hunters like nightmare or wuchang benefit more from it, to a degree much greater than ordinary strategies

the biggest issue with kinwai's nocamp theory is that, if im remebering it properly atleast, it doesn't really consider the idea of a successful camp as a possiblity, although for certain hunters this is close to true, also its a misnomer because it just doesn't camp in early game and views camping against a weakened team as an endgoal

the biggest counterplay to nocamp, or strategies that don't use the name but go for similar "spreading pressure instead of camping" based gameplay, is to rescue the survivor quickly instead of waiting out the majority of the timer, with a survivor who doesn't carry tide turner, and then get the chair-state bearing survivor healed, although this carries risk of 'tilting' teammates, or of them returning to tunnel, sacrificing other pressure in the process the survivors who best counter pressure-spreading strategies are in my opinion, embalmer, simply for the ability to avoid having to preform an early rescue entirely, and doctor, who's resource-less self-healing and rapid healing to others make her in general a massive pressure-relase valve, but as this sort of strategy relies on being having quicker chases, a teamcomp where most survivors have good to decent kiting, or abilities to improve eachother's kitings, are also a counterplay option (other survivors with self healing abilities all have resources that can be drained, and priestess is also very good at getting healing/resets [idk why highlevel players call it resets >w>] but is also just good at chase and supporting kiters so i think shes generally a must-ban over embalmber despite embalmer more specifically fucking over the strategy, since he atleast has average not very very good kiting potential] tldr: nocamp is not camping early downed/chaired survivor so you drain more of their resources and keep them off of ciphers, so that later camping goes once they have to heal/stay off ciphers or lack the resources to rescue
