You hadn’t anticipated him being at the pub as you walked in. It had been years since you last saw him, and surely many more since he last thought of you.
Yet, when you followed the server to your designated booth, only to pass his- his gaze latched onto yours. Your lips parted with recognition, heart immediately racing when his smile made way to his eyes.
It was hard to decide whether to stop amidst the bustling tables and scattered voices in the restaurant; but when he reached out his hand to touch your arm, hesitating for a mere moment before turning it into a subtle wave- you stopped.
"Noah?" you breathed his name as he took in your face with his dark eyes, unsure whether he was searching or reminiscing over past memories. You glanced at the others at his table, offering a brief nod before looking back at him shyly. He chuckled softly, disbelief colouring his expression, as he leaned his elbow on the chair's headrest.
"Date night?" he asked, his gaze shifting to the man behind you, prompting an awkward cough as you stepped aside, letting your friend join in. Shaking your head while exchanging a glance with the hostess at your booth, you laughed nervously and looked away from Noah.
"No-just drinks with friends." Your mind spiraled with the accusation, and the hint of something lingering within his words tugged at your throat.
The brunette noticed you fidgeting with your sweater sleeve and nodded, "Well, it's nice to see you. It's been a long time."
Meeting his stare, you offered a stiff yet warm smile, "Yeah, it has."
You glanced at the hostess again, apologetically raising your hand before heading toward your booth, leaving behind the tangled threads of old emotions. "I—I shouldn't keep her waiting. Nice seeing you, too."
As you walked away, there was an unspoken sentiment that seemed to surge between you two. You felt Noah's gaze linger on your retreating form, and despite the peculiar stirring of forgotten feelings, you were gently cocooned back into the familiarity of your friends’ laughter as you slid into the worn leather of the booth.
You tried to shake off the flush of surprise that still heated your cheeks, and across from you, your friend observed the disarray with a curious gaze, his brows furrowing as he leaned in.
"You okay?" he asked, dropping his voice so the clamor of the pub's crowd swallowed his words.
You met his eyes and nodded stiffly. "Yes, just... haven't seen him in a long time."
"I can see that," your friend responded, his gaze flicking momentarily in the direction you had come from, then returning to you with a ghost of a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. It was a gentle tease, immediately soothing away the tension that knotted your heart.
Across the room, a new round of drinks arrived at Noah’s table, followed by a chorus of laughter. Glancing over, you watched as he lifted his glass in a toast, his gaze straying once again towards your booth. The soft glow from the pub lights made his features appear less harsh than you remembered, shaping half-forgotten memories into something akin to nostalgia.
"Old flame?" Your friend's words snapped you back from your thoughts. There was a taunting lightness in his tone that said he guessed more than what he dared to ask outright.
"Something like that," you admitted, idly toying with the flimsy drink coaster before you.
"He never really left your thoughts, did he?" His words tinged with curiosity.
Your face warmed at his comment, subconsciously glancing over at Noah once more as if to confirm something you hadn't voiced out loud in years.
"Not really," You confessed, heart clenching as you sucked in a breath- something that felt harder to do now that Noah kept flicking his eyes back to your table.
You were grateful when the waiter arrived with your drinks; a timely distraction. But as jokes flitted across your table and ice clinked in your cocktail, a shadow of melancholy slipped into your chest.
Your friend's voice cut through the low hum of pub conversations, contrasting the bought of laughter from Noah’s table. “Did you ever date?” He asked nonchalantly.
You gave him a curt shake of your head, savoring the tartness of your drink. “No," you replied, with a rueful smile.
"But you wanted to?"
His question was more a statement and you could only nod, the sudden knot in your throat making words impossible. He watched you in silence, allowing you a moment to regain your composure.
"He didn’t choose me," you finally managed, swirling your drink in your glass. "He liked someone else at the same time. Things were complicated.”
Your eyes scanned the pub's old wooden ceiling, following a vague pattern in its grooves as if it held answers. Suddenly feeling Noah’s gaze on you again, the tight fluttering in your chest resurfaced.
"Does it still feel complicated?" Your friend asked gently.
"Uh…No..." The lie came out hollow even to your ears, and the man across from you rolled his eyes.
"You're a terrible liar," he reproached lightly, reaching across the table to pat your hand, causing you to sigh.
"He is part of my past," you reasoned out loud, more for yourself than to convince your friend. “I moved on to date Erin, until well… you know…and as far as I know Noah is still with his girlfriend of three years.” The words fell heavy against the illuminating candlelight flickering in between the two of you.
"You don't hate him though?" He asked. A question you knew wasn't really a question.
"Hate him?" you shook your head as you scoffed, almost bitterly. “I tried to.”
Your fingers traced the outline of the coaster as you continued, "But hating him would have meant to forget all the good times- remove all the annoying memories of him that still seem to live in my mind. And...I didn’t want to do that. I don’t want to do that." you confessed, fighting the lump forming in your throat. "I'd rather remember and hurt than forget and feel hatred."
There was a pause as your friend digested your words, looking at you as if he were seeing a different side of you, one he never knew existed.
"But doesn't it just hurt," he began carefully, “to keep remembering?”
A soft sigh escaped your lips as you watched the bubbles gently float to the top of your glass. "Sometimes," you admitted, turning your gaze back to Noah. His laughter echoed across the room, drowning out the music momentarily. A smile tugged at your lips unknowingly.
"Then why keep doing it?" he questioned further.
It was when Noah made another loud joke to his friends that he turned once again, meeting your eyes for what felt like the hundredth time that night- that you caved.
“Because the way he has looked at me never changed. Not through relationships, not through time apart- never. There is always that same annoying and infuriating look of hope.”
"Hope?" Your friend repeated, tilting his head as he wrapped his hand around his glass, fingers tapping lightly against the surface.
You nodded, stealing another glance at Noah. He was leaned back in his chair now, a relaxed smile on his face that countered your turmoil, unravelling you with every gaze he cast your way.
"It's the kind of hope that asks 'what if'," you explained, voice low and barely audible over the commotion of the pub around you. "What if things were different? What if we had chosen each other? Like an opportunity lost, but not entirely forgotten."
The man across from you was contemplative, taking a thoughtful sip of his drink before leaning in closer to you. "What does that look like? This hope you see in his eyes?"
You pondered over his question, swallowing thickly as you tried to form words that would make sense to him, let alone you.
“It’s like this lidded gaze- a soft shine of longing subdued by realism that has never entirely disappeared. It’s a look that says he still sees what he saw in me when we were just kids in high school- like I’m still important to him, in some way. It tells me he understands that even when it seemed like I moved on, he knows deep down that I really didn't. And neither did he. And it's not right. But it’s too late."
It was silent for a moment as you fought the water treading within your eyes, chugging the rest of your drink as a distraction.
"That's a lot to collect from a look," he said eventually, observing your flustered expression with raised brows.
"I’ve had a long time to think about it," you conceded with a shrug, ripping the edge of your coaster absently. But inside your chest, your heart beat a frantic rhythm that suggested it agreed with your words.
Your friend glanced towards your unease, watching how Noah pretended he was never really looking over at your table. "And if he weren't in a relationship now? If circumstances were… different?"
Your reply, when it came, was barely above a whisper. "Doesn’t matter," you lied, heart pounding against your ribs as the truth nudged at your denial.
"Even if things were different… he never chose me. Refused to. Told me he promised someone else his heart after high school."
"And you still hold it against him?" The question hung heavy in the air, though your friend's tone was light, almost indifferent.
"No," You denied, feeling a twinge of pain claw at your chest. "I suppose... I have come to terms with it. Maybe he wasn’t supposed to choose me. He never had that high school girl anyway, either. She moved on before him."
"But you haven't moved on." The words slipped from your friend’s lips as an affirmation. His gaze wandered back to Noah, where another round of laughter punctuated the air.
You stared at your empty glass, chewing on your lower lip as the silence festered. For a moment you considered denying it, but what use was there in pretending when the truth was palpable in every word?
"No," you sighed, looking back at Noah. "I guess not. Not really."
Your friend nodded understandingly, tossing back the remaining contents of his glass before placing it back onto the table.
“Well,” he started, and you turned to look at him as he refilled his drink from a bottle that had been ignored until now. “In this life, we rarely get second chances with things that truly matter.”
It was then Noah stood up from his table, turning to cross the room. His stride was slow, confident, a stark contrast to the unease in your chest. His eyes were on you, and you pretended not to notice. Your friend did, though.
A sudden feeling of dread crushed your heart as you followed his frame out of the corner of your eyes, the shadows stretching out on the worn-out wooden floorboards.
"Why is he heading here?" you whispered, not daring to voice your suspicion too loudly, as if to break the bubble surrounding both of you.
Your friend merely shrugged, a sly grin replacing his earlier curiosity. "No idea. But I am eager to find out," he said, leaning back into his chair and taking a sip from his drink, all whilst watching Noah’s approaching figure as though it were an intriguing spectacle. As Noah got closer, your pulse quickened its pace, pounding rhythmically against your chest while your mind raced in frantic circles.
He smiled at you for a moment before nodding at your friend, flicking his short brunette strands out of his eyes.
“Uh hey, my friend’s are about to head out…” He said, throwing a thumb back to the crew that was now throwing him half amused glances and thumbs-ups. He glanced back at you, "and I'd really appreciate the opportunity to catch up. Would you mind if I joined you?"
Your friend looked at you, your widened eyes meeting his amused gaze before he shrugged and gestured to the vacant seat next to him, sliding further into the booth, “By all means,” he invited.
“Thanks.” Noah nodded gratefully, taking the seat beside your friend, and now sitting across from you.
“I hope I’m not intruding,” he added, glancing back and forth between the two of you.
“Not at all,” your friend assured him, though his eyebrows remained slightly arched.
You gripped your empty glass tighter in your hand, swallowing down the sudden dryness in your throat. “Yeah, Noah… it’s been forever,” you managed to croak out in what you hoped passed for casual indifference.
He flashed a quick smile at your words, his eyes crinkling around the edges. Beneath the guise of casual banter, the years that had passed were muffled whispers hidden in plain sight.
"Yes, it has been," Noah responded, while his gaze danced over you, "How’s life been treating you?"
You shrugged nonchalantly, trying to cloak your nervousness under feigned ease. "Oh you know, ups and downs. Mostly well."
A smile played on your friend's lips, a look of knowing graced his features as he stared at the exchange between you two.
"Same here," Noah replied, sipping from his glass.
A skillfully avoided conversation unfolded between you, where inquiries about work and general well-being served as shields against the veiled curiosity itching to break free.
Your chest clenched again, and as the waitress came over to give you another drink, you took the opportunity to head to the washroom.
Your friend watched you rise from the booth, catching your eye in a silent exchange that offered reassurance. Noah politely nodded as you slipped out of the booth and disappeared into the crowd.
Locking the door behind you, you took a moment to collect yourself, splashing water on your face in an attempt to steady your racing heart.
It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair how Noah just waltzed back into your life after all these years, bringing rainstorms of feelings you had worked so hard to forget- yet really didn’t.
In the reflection of the bathroom mirror, you saw a ghost of your younger self, the one who spent hours decoding Noah's glances and gestures. The one who would stay up late just to watch his favourite shows so you had something to talk about. The one who would wear his sweaters because he said they looked better on you. The one who obsessed over his lingering touch and flirty banter.
The one who was not good enough.
Overwhelm washed over you like cold water, stealing your breath. You pressed your palms onto the edge of the sink, clenching your jaw as you wrestled with the torrent of emotions that roared through your veins.
With a quiet sigh, you patted down your face with a rough paper towel and straightened your sweater. Ducking your head, you drew another deep breath.
This was just Noah. Just a boy from your past. Just Noah.
Slipping back into the booth, you offered them a small smile before turning towards Noah who seemed genuinely involved in the story your friend was narrating. The air was lighter now; there was an ease that settled around the table as rounds of laughter traveled between the three of you while your friend indulged Noah in stories about a mutual friend who had recently moved out of town. You took occasional sips from your drink, contributing where necessary while primarily focusing on observing the somewhat restrained interaction between Noah and your friend.
You welcomed the change in atmosphere. No sparks were flying around or deep murmurs floating in the air, nor heavy gazes locked onto each other. It was simple, casual – as mundane as any other night at the pub could have been.
Yet in the lulls of conversation, Noah's gaze met yours; keenly observant but surreptitiously so. There remained a certain intensity that made you uncomfortable and yet to evade it, felt unnatural. It was like there was an undercurrent running beneath his apparent nonchalance, manifesting as veiled glances and half-crafted jokes aimed to get that entrancing laugh from you.
“Guys, it’s been real, but I am gonna call it a night," your friend announced, a yawn stretching from his mouth.
"Already?" Noah questioned, sparing you a glance as though to silently ask whether you too were planning to leave.
"Got an early start tomorrow." Your friend assured, pushing himself out of the booth and giving a cheeky wink in your direction.
Your heart pounded in your chest as he left a void beside Noah, and a shiver of nervousness ran down your arms.
After bidding goodbye to him with an amused half-smile, Noah turned his attention back to you. His expression was unreadable, a cryptic mask that did nothing to ease your anxiety.
"Do you mind if I stay awhile longer?" He asked softly, his gaze meeting yours across the table.
You paused for a moment, finding your voice caught in the back of your throat. You could turn him away, tell him you'd rather be alone. But you couldn’t bring yourself to do that. You didn’t want him to go.
"No, not at all," you said, trying your best to sound as neutral as possible.
Noah shifted in his seat, leaning back with a distant look in his eyes before returning his gaze to you. His inked fingers drummed lightly against the wooden table top, suggesting a nervous energy beneath the seeming calm in his demeanor.
Shading his eyes with the back of his hand, Noah contemplated for a moment. “You know… life is strange sometimes,” he began haltingly and flashed a smile that never quite reached his eyes.
You quirked an eyebrow in question but did not interrupt, welcoming him to fill the silence that had fallen over the booth.
He let out a sigh, his fingers tracing the rim of his still fresh drink. "Sometimes," he started again, his october eyes fixing on yours, "we find ourselves living in a constant cycle of 'what ifs' and 'what could've beens'."
You swallowed hard as you tried to untangle his words. "And where has that cycle led you?"
Noah's gaze dropped from yours to his hands, "It led me here...sitting across from you after years, yet feeling as though I've never left." He let out a breathy chuckle, shaking his head a little. "It's funny how life works."
You found yourself nodding, the corners of your mouth twitching at his admission. "Life has a strange sense of humor, doesn't it?"
"Indeed it does."
He took a sip of his drink, eyes twinkling under the dull bar lights. There was comfort in his silent observation; a mirroring dance between two people separated by years and experiences yet wound together by obscured ties.
"Can I ask you something?" Noah asked, his fingers idly drumming against the table's wooden surface.
Raising an eyebrow, you shrugged nonchalantly in response, not daring to trust your voice to betray the sudden discomfort stitching itself into your chest.
Taking your silence as approval, he leaned in, elbows resting on the table. A stray lock of hair fell onto his forehead as he leveled his gaze with yours. You took that moment to reminisce how long his hair used to be. Reminisce in the feeling of it tangled between your fingers when he asked you to play with it; or put it in a bun.
"Do you ever feel... like we missed out on something?" His voice was low, barely above a whisper, as if he feared someone might overhear the intimate nature of his question.
There was a moment's silence as you held his gaze, your heart hammering an erratic beat against your chest. Your mind raced to find a reply; a sentence that would adequately encase the pain, longing, and disappointment that had been the backdrop of your heart after Noah had been written out of it.
"Noah..." you breathed out, throat tightening.
"I mean," he hurriedly continued before you could voice any objection or sentiment, "it's just... Have you ever wondered how different our lives might've been if we..." He trailed off, seeming unsure of how to complete his tangled thought.
"...if I had chosen differently?" The last word of his sentence dissipated. His dark eyes were vulnerable, more than you remembered as they bore into yours.
"I..." You hesitated, stammering over your own words as an uncomfortable silence stretched between you two.
It was filled with unspoken regrets, unsaid words, and all those missed moments that formed a silent echo in your hearts.
"Yes," you finally admitted, sipping from your glass to wet your dry lips. "I have thought about it."
Noah let out a breath he seemed to have been holding, his shoulders dropping with the release of tension. A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, and he looked down for a moment before meeting your gaze once more.
"But we can't rewrite the past, can we?" he said dryly, sipping from his glass.
"No, we can't," you agreed, your pulse dancing in your ears. You leaned back in the booth, turning your gaze away from Noah and towards the crowd of others around you. The music filled in the gap left by your silence.
"You know," Noah began again after a few moments, turning to face you fully, "I was happy to see you tonight."
"I'm...glad to know that," you replied uneasily.
He tugged at the collar of his shirt anxiously, taking in another breath. You watched as his fingers seemed to tremble, clawing at his tattooed neck. “I’ve missed you.”
You swallowed, nodding as you gave him a soft smile, “I’ve missed you too.”
And when it was silent again, neither of you could look at each other.
“So how’s Hannah?”
When you asked, his body stiffened momentarily before giving you a tight smile.
“We broke up a couple months ago,” He said, tilting his head to the side.
Your brows furrowed in an attempt to look sad; but the way your stomach began to spin in circles told a different story altogether.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, despite the fluttering inside you. “Hope things are better now.”
"Yeah," he gave a dismissive shrug of his shoulders. "Things happen. We're on good terms, so it’s alright."
Nodding, you waved the server over for another drink; this time asking for something stronger.
"Your turn," he gestured towards you with an encouraging smile. "How’s Erin?"
You didn’t miss the way your ex’s name sounded sour on Noah’s tongue.
"We broke up too," you admitted, finding solace as his reaction mirrored yours- surprise and awkwardness intermingled with a caring depth.
“I’m really shocked,” He said, blinking repeatedly before running his fingers through his hair, “You were together for eight years. Right since the end of high school.”
Nodding you chewed on the inside of your cheek,
"Yeah," you acknowledged, a ghost of a smile playing on your lips. "But things change, people change. I guess it just wasn't meant to be."
Noah was silent for a moment. It wasn't hard to see the shock in his eyes as he processed your words- after all, he had known Erin too.
"You... okay?" he asked softly, daring to meet your gaze again.
Nodding, you shrugged slightly, "Yeah. Took some time but yeah, I am."
Neither of you said anything further then; the server arrived with your drinks and the concentrated clinks against the mugs filled up the silence. You thanked her with an absentminded nod before she retreated back into the crowd.
“Want to get out of here?”
Noah's question hung in the air, and you blinked, taken aback.
"Where to?" you stuttered, your voice barely above a whisper.
He shrugged, the side of his lip twisting up in a lopsided smirk. "Somewhere quieter?"
You looked at him, heart thudding against your chest as you considered his offer. Whatever doubt resurfaced about this spontaneous venture was silenced by the surprising hope lighting up his eyes. The same, annoying, stubborn hope that seemed untouched by time. And perhaps it was enough to convince you to take that leap.
"Sure," you agreed reluctantly, avoiding eye contact as you slipped yourself out of the booth, placing some bills on the table next to your untouched drink.
The night felt different as you both stepped out of the pub and into the lightly lit streets. The breeze brushed past your face, carrying with it a scent of rain soon to come. Walking side by side, you could feel the palpable quiet weaving a comfortable cocoon around you.
"No regrets?" he murmured, hands slipped into his pockets as he glanced down at you.
"No regrets," you echoed, more to reassure your own trembling heart than to provide him with closure. He nodded, falling silent once more as your steps echoed against the cement streets.
“You never used to be this quiet,” Noah broke the silence, running a hand through his unkempt hair. “Couldn’t shut you up half the time.”
You laughed gently at that and glanced aside, “Well, life...” your voice trailed off, shrugging at your failed attempt at an explanation.
“I get it,” Noah hummed and nodded. He didn’t press for more; he never did, even back then.
A few paces ahead, Noah's car sat serenely below the dim glow of a streetlamp. As he unlocked the doors and you slid into the passenger seat your heart raced faster. It was just the two of you- after so long.
The soft hum of the car engine filled the small slice of your shared reality while Noah navigated through the late-night streets. Your eyes danced over the passing buildings and strangers walking, avoiding to look anywhere but at him.
Suddenly, he turned up the volume of the car's stereo, cutting through your contemplations. An old song wafted through the speakers, a whisper from years ago that wrapped around you both. The familiar melody made your heart twinge with nostalgia.
"Do you still like this song?" you said suddenly, blinking away unseen tears as you looked at the words slide across the small radio screen.
“I do,” He said softly, thumbs beginning to tap along to the melody.
A gentle smile pulled at your lips as the chorus began, your voice barely audible over the strumming of the guitar and drums. “We danced to it once. At that fundraiser thing.”
Noah glanced over at you, expression unreadable but the sparkle in his eyes betraying a mutual remembrance. "Yeah,” he murmured. “I remember.”
Memories began to float back, images flickering behind your damp eyes. That high school dance where you purposefully bought that floral pattern that made your skin pop- your eyeshadow contrasting the dark hues. Your hands were clammy as Noah approached you for a dance, saying it’s what ‘friends do’. You remembered the feeling of his fingers wrapped around your waist and back, delicately placed as if afraid you’d burn him- your hands resting behind his neck, while you two swayed.
I don’t believe that anybody feels the way I do about you now.
You’re my wonderwall.
The song faded out, replaced by another unfamiliar one whose words became background noise to your racing thoughts. Noah’s inked knuckles turned white on the steering wheel as a sigh slipped out from between his lips.
“Um, we're here," Noah finally broke the silence. The car came to a halt, the engine purring low before dying out completely. You blinked in surprise, trying to figure out where you were.
Looking around, you noticed that you were parked on top of a hill overlooking the city. You could see all the lights twinkling like stars; the night sky framed by the silhouette of towering skyscrapers and flowing ribbon of highway tracers in the distance.
"Well, this is quieter indeed," you mumbled, mostly to yourself. A chuckle escaped Noah as he reclined back into his seat.
"Yes," he murmured looking out through the window at the shimmering spectacle below. “Remember when I used to tell you how people always made out up here? And then you told me you didn’t know how to use tongue? And then I used to tease you?”
You blushed, a soft laugh escaping your lips at the memory. "How could I forget?" You shook your head slightly, feeling more loosened now. "You never let me live that down."
"True," Noah chuckled, a reminiscent glint in his eyes. "I believe you also made me swear that I would never make out with anyone up here because it was so cliche."
You rolled your eyes at him, a grin tugging at your lips. “Sounds like something I’d say.”
"Was Erin your first kiss then?" He gently nudged a question into the silence.
"Yeah" you confessed after a moment's pause. His gaze flickered to yours, curiosity mixed with surprise evident, “I didn’t want to kiss anyone unless I loved them.”
He nodded slowly, processing your words. "That's... admirable," he concluded with a soft smile.
"Is it?" you muttered, feeling the warmth rise on your cheeks as you laughed, ready to pester him, “Because apparently it was a joke I couldn’t kiss with tongue due to lack of experience.”
"No, no," Noah chuckled, leaning back against the headrest of his seat, staring out at the cityscape. "I only teased because you were somehow so sure that tongues were not involved at all."
You laughed, the twinkling lights reflecting in your eyes. "Well, how was I supposed to know!?" You mockingly defended yourself, playfully punching him in the arm.
He laughed heartily, his voice echoing within the confined space of the car. His laughter was a warm sound, a comfort from distant memories that wrapped itself around your heart. It was something you didn’t know you missed so much.
Once his laughter had subsided into a chuckle, he looked at you for a moment too long. The intensity of his gaze took your breath away. You could see hints of affection and longing there- an open invitation to walk down memory lane yet again.
"I was a jerk then. I bet you turned out to be an amazing kisser."
Your cheeks flushed a deeper shade of red at his words, and you found yourself turning away from his gaze, too flustered by the sudden compliment. He chuckled lightly, licking his lips briefly.
"Guess you'll never know," you retorted, burying your flaming face in your hands, “But no, not really.” you protested half-heartedly, looking out of the window to hide the warmth that was creeping up your neck.
"Still got that blush," he observed teasingly, causing your cheeks to burn even more fiercely.
"Shut up, Noah," you laughed it off, swatting at his arm. He raised his hands in a mock-surrender as another round of laughter echoed through the car. The space felt warmer, more familiar than what it had been just a few minutes ago.
The conversation lulled once again, filled with merely the hum of the cool evening breeze rustling the leaves outside and old tracks playing softly through the car's speakers.
"I used to come here after Hannah and I broke up... It helped me think."
The confession hung between you two, heavy and uncomfortable.
"Why are you telling me this?" You asked.
Noah was silent for a moment, the dim car light illuminating his face in an array of shadows.
"Because," he began slowly, "I think it's important for you to know. And it doesn't just remind me of her, it reminds me of what could have been- and what's no longer."
You nodded, swallowing down the lump in your throat as you turned your gaze to the cityscape below. It was beautiful, indeed.
Perhaps Noah had found solace in this beauty during his broken times.
Perhaps, right now, it was the sanctuary that you needed too.
"You never asked me why we broke up," Noah’s murmur brought you back from your thoughts.
"Why did you?" You asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
His gaze shifted to meet yours, his chocolate eyes soft under the pale moonlight streaming into the car. "We fell out of love. Or maybe, I never even fully loved her."
For a moment, you were silent, digesting the harsh simplicity of his words.
"Love can be fleeting," you said softly, more to yourself than addressing Noah.
"No," he countered after a beat, "Love is constant. It's the people who are fleeting."
His sentiment hit a chord deep within you that resonated with your unspoken feelings.
"People change," you agreed, your fingertips brushing over the chill of your glass. "They grow...sometimes apart."
Noah hummed in response, his gaze distant as though lost in a maze of recollections. “Yes, we’ve changed, haven’t we?”
“Yes,” You mumbled, picking at the seam of your jeans.
“But I don’t think I ever stopped loving you. I didn’t even know at the time that I was in love.”
Your breath hitched in your throat at that moment, his words burning through your mind. Love. Loving you.
All that could be heard was the racing of your heart as your ears flooded with every panicked beat.
"You..." your voice faltered, unsure of how to respond. His gaze was relentless; not challenging you but pleading for understanding that you weren't quite sure how to give.
"Noah..." Your voice came out as a mere whisper, the name tumbling from your lips almost involuntarily, your mind still struggling to catch up with his declaration. He examined your expression in quiet apprehension, his hands clenched on his thighs.
"I mean it," he persisted, reaching over to gently cover your fidgety hand with his own larger one. His tattoos seemed even more prominent against your smooth skin - alive, just like the feelings that were coming alive in his presence. "Even though we’ve never been together... I don't know if I ever stopped thinking about you."
Your breath hitched as his words hung heavy in the air.
“I regret not choosing you. Every single day I’ve regretted fucking up the chance of us.”
Your heart raced in your chest, the thunderous pulse drowning out all other sounds. The feel of his warm hand on yours, the earnest look in his eyes- it was almost too much.
"Stop, Noah," you found yourself whispering, a plea more than a demand. His eyes flickered with hurt but he took his hand away nonetheless- an action that seemed to echo painfully around you.
He swallowed hard, leaning back against the car's seat while respectably creating distance. His gaze didn't leave yours, as if trying to convince you of the sincerity of his confession.
"I'm sorry," He apologized after what felt like eons, "I just... needed you to know."
“But you knew how I felt. All those years ago you fed into my feelings- when you knew. You knew I liked you- fuck, loved you. Which is pathetic because how do you know you love somebody you never even kissed, or hugged, or held hands with- at fifteen years old?” You sucked in a breath, tears welling in your eyes as you stared at your shoes but you blinked them away stubbornly. "But I knew. You knew.”
His hand twitched on the gear stick as though wanting to reach out to you once more, yet he restrained himself, a mask of remorse settling over his features.
"I didn’t know how to feel. I was confused. I thought I didn’t want to take the risk of losing you by dating you,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “I thought my feelings would disappear…that they were just an infatuation.”
You nodded slowly, a storm of unsettled emotions making your voice tremble, "But they didn't." It was not a question; it was a confirmation. One that stripped away any ambiguity still lingering between you.
"No," he agreed with a shaky sigh, “Sometimes I wish they did.”
You laughed bitterly, sniffing, “I wish they did too. Because I just spent eight years in a relationship secretly wondering ‘what if Noah chose me instead’. ‘Why do I still love him’, ‘Why do I feel this way’.”
The words hung heavy, your confession giving more weight to the silence suffocating you both. Noah's eyes were wide, a mix of shock and something akin to longing etched into his features.
"I... I didn't know," he finally managed, choking out the words as if his regret was a tangible thing constricting his throat. "I always thought you were happy with Erin."
Your laugh echoed through the car, hollow. "And I thought you loved Hannah." you shot back, ignoring the sharp sting in your chest. Light spurts of rain began to fall outside, the dispersed patter of the drops landing on the car roof distracting.
He flinched visibly at your retort but made no attempt to defend himself. Instead, he dropped his gaze to his hands where they lay clenched in his lap.
"Life is ironic, isn't it?" he murmured after a while. His voice was quiet but resounding in the stillness of the moment.
"Yeah, it is." You agreed, gazing out of the window again.
The brunette beside you shifted in his seat again, taking in a slow breath. "I want to kiss you."
His words were so soft, they almost melded with the low murmur of the far away traffic.
Your wide eyes whipped to him in a glance that was all too revealing. A gasp escaped from your clenched jaws, an unexpected note in the heavy silence of his trembling confession.
"What?" Your voice strangled itself into a whisper, hands fluttering against your chest as if trying to stifle the mounting panic.
Meeting your gaze head-on, Noah cleared his throat, "If that's okay with you, I mean...I'm not..." he sighed, raking a hand through his tousled hair in frustration, "Nevermind."
A thousand thoughts and feelings flooded through you.
“I- I can’t go down this road again.”
At that moment he unbuckled his seatbelt, hastily crawling out of the car. Your breathing quickened as you watched him walk around the hood to your side, opening your door. He held out his hand, waiting for you to take it.
Shaking your head, you remained unmoving, the sudden rainfall outside creating a rhythmic backdrop to your racing pulse. His outstretched hand trembled slightly under the raindrops gently cascading down on them.
Stubbornly, he didn't retract it, "Please," Noah pleaded in a tone akin to a whisper.
An unknown force urged you to take his hand, pulling yourself out of the car and into the rain-soaked night. It was hammering down now; each drop was its own parade, a silver bead in the sea of dirt beneath your feet. Your clothes began to cling to your skin as the rain showered over you, yet you couldn’t tear your gaze away from Noah's.
Pulling you into a hug, he enveloped you fully in his chest.
His scent hit you first– a distinct mix of old spice and musk, something so uniquely Noah. His heartbeat echoed against your ears, beating in time with the thrumming of rain on the car roof.
You wrapped your arms around his torso, your fingers clutching at the fabric dampening underneath your grip. His body next to yours felt like a patchwork quilt of memories- a warmth that was familiar yet now foreign all at once.
He sighed gently above you, one hand moving to lightly stroke the small of your back. It was subtle, almost hesitant; as if he feared this moment to be just another figment of the past.
“I can’t change what happened- and I need you to know that I wouldn’t have changed it. Even if I regret it.”
“Why?” You asked.
"Because it made me realize how much I lost in not choosing you," he answered, his voice barely audible above the sound of the rain pounding against the pavement.
Your heart ached as his words rang in your ears, each syllable echoing with a pain you related to all too well.
“It made me realize how much I wanted you, and how it’s always been you. Maybe I wouldn’t have been a good partner for you because I was just a dumb kid. Maybe we were meant to experience other people before getting here- I don’t know. I don’t have all the answers.”
“But regretting it brought me back to you,” he finished, pulling you away from him as his hands reached up either side of your face, caressing your cheeks with his cold hands. His expression was raw and open, every hiding place stripped bare as he studied you.
"I need you to understand one thing," he continued, his voice barely a whisper against the pounding of your heart. "My feelings for you...they’re not fleeting."
The wind had picked up, tossing small flurries of rain sideways; droplets traced pathways down his inked skin, catching in the hollow of his throat. There was an otherworldly beauty about him in that moment, one that had you transfixed.
"You were always with Erin. What was I going to do, stroll up to your house and confess?" he broke the silence once again, his knuckles brushing stray strands of hair from your face.
His eyes bore into yours, an unearthly intensity in his october gaze that made you tremble. His fingers traced your jawline in a gentle caress, quivering as they brushed over your lips. His quiet admittance echoed deafeningly in the space between you, wrapping itself around the settled tension in the air and filling you both with an unbearable longing.
"Noah," you whispered, your eyes fluttering closed. The rain was persistent; its rambling rhythm provided a haunting melody to your escalating heartbeats.
You placed your hands on top of his that held your face.
"Why now?" You managed to make your voice steady amidst the turmoil within.
"Because it's never too late, right?" His voice quivered with a hopeful note. You nodded weakly against his touch before daring to open your eyes again, “There are no longer any barriers. You’re here- I’m here- nothing else is in the way to hold us back anymore.”
He was holding his breath, terrified that with the next exhalation he might shatter the moment hanging between you.
"Maybe..." he began, his voice barely above a whisper, "Maybe it's time we take a chance on us."
A dozen emotions warred within you, and it was terrifyingly beautiful as pieces of him echoed through your nerves.
"Is there an 'us'?" You countered quietly, words tangled in a knot of apprehension.
"There could be," he whispered, placing his forehead against your own. Droplets of water fell between your skin.
Your heart stuttered inside your chest at his words.
“Can I kiss you now?” he took a deep breath swallowing his nerves.
Feeling your pulse quicken, you let out a shaky sigh. This wasn't how you had planned your evening- certainly not a premature reunion with long-locked-away feelings.
Yet, in that moment, any traces of reluctance were drowned by the insistent tug of something deep within you; a longing for closure, perhaps, or maybe even the feeling of what should have been all along?
"Yes," you barely recognized your own voice.
The corners of Noah's mouth curled into the semblance of a smile. He didn’t hesitate as he leaned in close, his warm breath fanning over your cheeks and making your eyelids flutter shut.
The world came crashing onto a standstill as his lips met yours, slow and hesitant at first before engulfing you in a fervor you could only associate with years of suppressed desire and regret. The taste of his lips was like coming home after an eternity; familiar yet carrying hints of something new and enticing.
Your body ached with need as reality blurred around you and Noah, your lungs catching every roll of his lips and breath as your mind raced. He was everything you had ever wanted- and this moment was something you dreamed of years ago.
He pulled you against him, the force of it making your teeth click, but not enough to hurt. Your hands clung to his shirt, cloth wrinkling beneath your desperate grasp as the intensity of your kiss increased. His hand pressed between your shoulder blades, fingers splayed widely against the drenched fabric of your top. Noah’s grip was so tight, his lips so hungry, as if afraid you’d let go.
"Noah," you mumbled against his lips, his name a soft plea. The kiss deepened, his body pressing further into yours with possessiveness and urgency.
Each drop of rain felt like a spark against your skin as his tongue traced the seam of your lips. His arm around your waist pulled you closer until there was no room left for regret, only the raw shiver of anticipation simmering beneath every touch, every breath.
"I've wanted this for so long..." He confessed between kisses, his voice breathless and filled with longing.
His words danced over your skin like electric shocks, each syllable a promise etched against your parted lips. Noah was a heartbeat, a rhythm so intimately familiar that you wondered how you ever survived without it.
“Me too.” You mumbled.
Slowly, he broke away; pausing just inches from your lips to simply hold you in his arms.
And as his brows furrowed and eyes darkened even more than you thought they possibly could, you swore there were tears mixing with the rain that fell down his cheeks.
His thumb traced the curve of your chin, an absent-minded gesture as he gazed at you.
"Did that... did it feel right?" His voice held a hint of insecurity, a shadow of doubt. Swallowing hard, you nodded, unable to say anything before reaching up to hold the back of his neck, and pull him into another long kiss.
You smiled, “I want to know what should have been. What will be. With you.”
His lips crashed into yours again, this time with a fervor that sent shockwaves through every nerve in your body. His hands were an orchestrated chaos, roaming your back and sides, desperate to elicit a response that would match his own longing.
“I want that too,” He whispered against your mouth, the utterance of those five words producing an unforgettable melody echoing the long-suppressed desires within both of you.
Your tongue lightly danced along his lip, and Noah held the back of your neck, pulling you closer to his mouth. The taste of him against your tongue made your limbs warm despite the cold, the craving of his fingers pressing into your skin irreplaceable to anything you ever felt before.
It felt right somehow, breaking barriers of the past and what could have been, only to embrace this newfound feeling- electric and full of hope.
Noah carried you back to his car after some time, both drenched from standing too long under the downpour.
In silence, you relished the warmth seeping through you. The radio sprang back to life as Noah fired up the engine again, flicking on the windshield wipers. He sighed, glancing at you with a hint of a smile playing on his lips as he reached over to manipulate the car's heater settings.
The journey back into town was quieter than before. The rain tapped rhythmically against the roof as you leaned against the window, staring absently at the stirring city below. Noah drove in silence, occasionally stealing glances in your direction- a soft yet unreadable gaze that sent shivers running down your spine.
“You’re a great kisser- so please forgive my younger self’s ignorance.”
"Will do," you managed to laugh, your chest tight with a newfound vitality. He chuckled, throwing you an amused sidelong glance.
The city lights streaked past in a blur, reflecting off the wet streets. The late-night pedestrians were rushing into their homes or into nearby pubs, attempting to dodge the heavy downpour. But inside the car, everything felt muted; as though time had been brought to standstill, after all this time.
You traced your slightly swollen lips with fingertips trembling faintly from leftover exhilaration. You could still taste him on your tongue; it was a taste you already knew you yearned to become familiar with.
Suddenly, he slowed the car to a halt in front of your apartment complex.
"I should get going," you murmured quietly, lying to him and yourself. "Thank you for tonight.”
He nodded, turning to face you once again. You watched him, your eyes tracing over every detail of his face; the bridge of his nose, the shape of his lips, and the curve of his cheeks- all before latching onto his gaze.
You unbuckled your seatbelt and before opening the door, hesitating for a moment.
“Do you want to come in?”

Noah Sebastian x reader
Summary/request: Noah, the tattoo artist, works across the street from the flower shop where a certain girl can’t seem to stop stealing glances his way.
AN: Should there be a part two? Showing their first date?
Riley lets out a sigh, watching as your gaze drifts once again to the tattoo shop across the street, where one of the men stands outside, cigarette in hand. She’s tired of seeing you doubt yourself, constantly insisting that he doesn’t notice you. But Riley knows better. She’s seen the way he lingers when he comes to buy flowers, how he pretends to browse just for an excuse to stay a little longer. She could swear he was flirting at one point, but you were too oblivious to see it.
"You could ask him out, you know?" she says, matter-of-fact. "It’s really not that big of a deal. If he says no, at least you tried."
"I don't know what you're talking about." You drift to the other side of your grandma's flower shop, reaching for the watering can as you eye the roses—drooping slightly, in need of care. "Besides, he's not single. There's no way in hell. And, well… I'm me." You set the watering can down with a soft clink, brushing off the lingering doubt in your voice.
Your hands find an empty pot, then loose soil. You meant to plant these hyacinth bulbs over a week ago, but paperwork had kept you occupied—your grandma’s way of preparing you to take over when she retires.
"What does that even mean?" Riley walks over, sliding onto the counter beside you and your project. She offers you a pair of gloves, but you're already pressing your fingers into the earthy soil.
You keep shifting the soil around, a little too forcefully. "I'm probably not his type. Girls like me don’t get guys like that. Have you seen Noah?"
Riley’s brows pull together, her nose wrinkling in disbelief. "Girls like you? You mean beautiful, intelligent, and hilarious girls? Please—he’d be lucky!" She rolls her eyes, then tilts her head toward your project. "Do you need a break? That poor plant looks like it’s about to suffocate."
With a sigh, you slide the pot toward her. "Yeah."
As you move to the sink, washing the dirt from your hands, you can’t shake the feeling that Riley is just saying all this to lift you up to be a good friend. But believing her? That’s a different story.
When you reach the door, you turn back to her. "I’m gonna run to the pizza place. Do you want anything?"
Riley shakes her head, shooing you off with a flick of her wrist. "I'm good. Stay and eat there. Take a break… and don’t even think about coming back until your hour’s up, grumpy."
As you step outside, your timing is almost too perfect, Noah is just leaving the tattoo shop. He catches sight of you, and his smile is effortless, easy. Suddenly, your stomach isn’t sure whether to twist into knots or flutter like a hundred restless wings. You manage a shy, slightly awkward wave, and he waves back but your gaze is already fixed straight ahead, missing the moment entirely.
Lucky for you, the city's best pizza parlor is just down the street, and with the warm breeze and clear sky, the walk feels like a little gift. You hadn’t even realized how hungry you were until you stepped inside.
"Hi, dear!" Mr. Parker’s voice is bright and welcoming, just like always. He remembers you by how you helped him pick the perfect flowers for his wife, how patient you were. Now, he stops by the shop often, even taking lessons from you so he can impress her with his newfound gardening skills.
Your smile widens as you scan the glass case, each pizza looking more tempting than the last. "These look incredible!"
Mr. Parker chuckles, waving a hand. "Ahh, you're too kind. I recommend the new chicken barbecue—mozzarella, fresh basil, straight from the garden. A masterpiece, if I do say so myself."
"Well, I guess I have no choice but to try it." You hand him your debit card, but he slides it right back across the counter.
"On the house today," he says with a wink.
You thank him warmly, then take your plated pizza to the cozy corner table, pulling out your phone. If you had to be away from the shop for an hour, you might as well make it count.
The bells above the door chime as someone steps inside, but your attention is locked on your screen. Then, the first bite of pizza—pure magic. Smoky, sweet, creamy, and fresh all at once. Your eyes flutter closed, a satisfied smile easing onto your lips.
"What kind did you get?"
That voice—you’d recognize it anywhere.
Noah.
You crack one eye open, setting your pizza down before quickly grabbing a napkin. "Chicken barbecue."
Noah raises a brow as he settles into the chair across from you, sliding his plate onto the table. "Bold choice. I went with plain ol’ pepperoni classic, dependable."
Your gaze flickers to his hands, a fleeting curiosity about the rings he wears. Your stomach twists when you spot the one on his left ring finger, and internally, you scold yourself. This is exactly why you ignored Riley. Why entertain fantasies about someone who’s clearly unavailable?
"My grandma loved those flowers you recommended," he says, and his boyish grin is charming, effortless—catches you off guard. It’s annoyingly contagious.
"That’s good," you reply, trying to sound casual, unaffected. "You'll have to stop by this week. We’ve got some specials."
You cringe inwardly. You weren’t trying to sell him flowers, you were just grasping for something to say. You two weren’t exactly close. Sure, he’d come into the shop a few times, and one of his coworkers had given you a tattoo a while back, but outside of that, your interactions had mostly been polite smiles and brief waves.
Yet, here he was, sitting across from you, looking entirely too comfortable for someone who was supposedly just another passing acquaintance.
Noah chuckles, shaking his head. "Well, you don’t have to tell me twice. I’ll be there."
Whoever married him was lucky.
Noah didn’t just exist in a room…he filled it. He had this way of making you feel like you were the only person that mattered in a conversation, even if you knew that was just… him.
You force a smile, hoping it hides the whirlwind in your chest. "Well, I’ll look forward to it."
Your heart immediately sinks. Why did you say that? Why did it sound like—like something more?
You push the thought away as quickly as it comes, standing abruptly. "I should get going. God only knows what Riley is up to."
Noah leans back in his chair, arms casually draped over the sides. "Right, wouldn’t want her starting any revolutions while you’re gone."
You let out a small laugh, shaking your head, but the nerves still tangle in your stomach. "It was nice seeing you."
"Yeah, you too." He gives you an easy smile—so damn easy, like none of this is affecting him the way it’s affecting you. "I’ll see you around."
"Bye."
You make a beeline for the trash, tossing your plate away like it betrayed you somehow, then slip out the door before your mouth can betray you next. The walk back to the flower shop is brisk, your hands stuffed into your pockets as if that’ll somehow keep your thoughts in check.
When you push through the shop doors, Riley barely glances up from her book. She’s lounging behind the counter, perfectly content.
"He’s married."
You throw your hands up, frustration spilling over.
Riley slowly marks her place in the book, setting it down with an exaggerated sigh. "Oh?"
"Yes!" You drag a hand down your face, pacing as your thoughts race. "Left ring finger. How did I not notice that before?"
Riley hums thoughtfully, tapping her fingers against the counter. "That is… interesting."
You freeze, narrowing your eyes. "Interesting? What do you mean, 'interesting'?"
She shrugs, entirely too casual. "Did you actually see a wedding band?"
You pause. Think.
No. You saw a ring—yes—but was it actually a wedding band? Or had your brain just filled in the worst-case scenario because that was easier?
Riley smirks, knowing exactly where your thoughts are spiraling. "Looks like someone has some investigating to do."
You groan, dropping your head onto the counter. "Riley."
"You’re the one who said it was 'too good to be true,'" she teases. "Maybe it's just… good."
The day drags on, and despite your best efforts to stay focused on customers, you can’t shake the lingering interaction with Noah. You sulk quietly in the corner, tending to the hydrangeas that have decided to be overly dramatic this season. No matter how much water, sunlight, or whispered encouragement you give them, they insist on wilting in protest.
The bell jingles as the front door swings open, but you don’t bother looking up. Riley has it handled. All you want is for the day to end so you can go home, reset, and forget the ridiculous butterflies Noah somehow set loose in your stomach.
A sudden tap on your shoulder yanks you from your pity party. You whip around, startled, only to meet Noah’s piercing gaze and ridiculously charming smile.
"I didn’t mean to startle you," he says, hands slipping into his pockets, looking entirely too comfortable standing there in your shop.
Oh. Shit.
As if today couldn’t get any worse, here he is to buy flowers. For his wife.
Because of course he is.
Because of course you had spent your morning overthinking every interaction with him, only for reality to come and hit you like a freight train.
Swallowing the lump in your throat, you manage to keep your voice steady. "That’s okay, I was just trying to figure out why these hydrangeas keep throwing a tantrum." You lift one up, frowning at its drooping petals.
Noah’s smile lingers as he watches you, eyes scanning the flowers, but it’s different now. Not flirtatious, just... curious. Like he finds you genuinely fascinating.
"So," he muses, tilting his head, "what’s your favorite flower? What would you recommend for a fun woman—something that says, unique, passionate, and beautiful?"
Oh, this sucked.
Your fingers twitch with the urge to shove him toward Riley, let her handle this mess, but she’s deep in conversation with an elderly couple. You’re on your own.
"Well," you say, forcing a breath, "these aren’t supposed to grow here, but I figured out how to keep them alive." You guide him toward the back of the shop, toward your personal favorites.
His gaze flicks over the delicate blooms, eyes widening in admiration. "Wow. What are these? They look like tiny hearts."
A soft laugh escapes you despite yourself. "It’s kinda emo—they’re called Bleeding Hearts."
Noah grins, running his fingers lightly over the petals. "That’s metal."
You snort. "Right?"
"I’ll take them." He grabs a small bouquet without hesitation.
"Good choice." You nod, leading him back to the front.
When you ring up his purchase, he doesn’t hesitate to hand you the cash. As you slide the receipt toward him, he turns to leave but stops just before reaching the door.
He looks back at you, something unreadable flickering in his eyes.
"Something wrong?" you ask, laughing lightly, trying to shake the tension creeping into the air. "I’ll take them back—a full refund, no questions asked."
Noah chuckles as he strolls to the counter, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Nothing's wrong," he says, casually placing the flowers in front of you.
You blink at him. Then at the flowers. Then back at him. Your eyebrow shoots up. "Are you feeling okay?"
He exhales sharply, running a hand through his hair as if that’ll somehow make this moment less awkward. "They’re for you," he blurts out. "I—uh—I didn’t know how to ask you out, and in my head, this was going way smoother." He groans, shaking his head. "Did I blow it?"
Your lips part in surprise, but then your gaze instinctively drops to his hand, the one adorned with rings, particularly the one on his left ring finger.
"Aren’t you married?" you ask, pointing accusingly at the evidence.
Noah softly laughs shaking his head. "No! I just like rings." He lifts his hand, wiggling his fingers like they’re part of some magic trick. "Purely decorative, I swear."
You squint at him, suspicious. "So you like messing with people?"
"Absolutely not." He pauses, then grins. "Okay, maybe a little. But only when the reactions are entertaining."
You roll your eyes, but you’re already smiling. Bringing the flowers to your face, you inhale their soft, sweet scent, trying to hide the way your cheeks warm under his gaze.
"There’s definitely a spark," you finally admit, peeking at him over the petals. "And yes, I’ll go on a date with you."
Noah visibly relaxes, a huge grin spreading across his face. "Seriously?"
You grab a scrap of paper, quickly scribbling down your number and sliding it across the counter. "I’m off at five."
His fingers brush yours as he takes the paper, sending an unexpected jolt through you.
"I’ll see you soon," he says, his voice carrying an edge of nervous excitement.
He steps toward the door, hesitates for just a moment, then glances back, offering you a final wave before disappearing outside.
You stare at the spot where he stood, your smile stretching so wide it almost hurts.
"I don’t mean to brag," Riley drawls, sidling up beside you, "but I told you so."

All the text from Jolly said was, “Hey, can you come down to the studio?” And the first thing you hear as you approach the door is raised voices.
“You tell him!”
“Tell who what?” You ask, entering into the chaos as the hum of noise is reduced to silence and every face in the room turns to look at you.
“Tell Noah he needs to stop pushing himself and go home and rest in bed,” Matt is the first to speak up.
"I don't need to fucking rest," Noah sighs, rubbing his brow.
"And why do I need to tell him that?" You ask.
"She doesn't need to tell me anything!"
"Noah, you're going to make things worse,” Jolly stands with his arms folded like an impatient father.
“Make what worse? What’s going on?” You look between the men in the room, searching each of their faces for answers.
“He’s sick, but he keeps pushing himself even though he can’t sing properly right now. He needs to go get some fucking rest at home or he’ll fuck up his voice!” Jolly explains.
“It’s fine!” Noah protests from his desk chair. Though he was only half facing you, you could see the dark circles under his eyes and the greyish pallor to his skin. “If I need to re-record it, I will, but it’s fine right now,” he continues, and you can hear the hoarseness in his voice. Matt pulls off his hat and runs his hand through his hair in frustration, then replaces the hat back on his head with a sigh.
“Noah, you’re not going to be able to re-record anything if you lose your fucking voice,” Jolly turns to you and states your name firmly. “Tell him.”
“Again, why do I need to tell him? Why would he listen to me if he’s not listening to you?" You know they’re right, but he’s stubborn; you don’t understand what would make your instructions different.
“He'll listen to you because he's fucking in love with you!" Matt shouts.
It was like the air suddenly became thick, and nobody says a word more as your eyes widen and flick straight to Matt. Then to Noah, where he sits wearing what you guess is the exact same expression as yours. Your eyes lock, and you can feel the panic radiating from him. Just as you’re about to speak, the question on the tip of your tongue goes left unsaid as Noah abruptly stands and shoulders his way past the other men. “Noah,” you try, but he’s steadfast in his pace; his shoulder brushes yours as he passes, and not once does he look back.
You watch as his silhouette grows smaller through the window in the door, watching even as he disappears around the corner and out of view. You only turn when Matt calls your name quietly.
"What the fuck was that about?" you all but shout. The men shuffle awkwardly on their feet and struggle to meet your eyes.
"He's sick and losing his voice, but he keeps pushing anyway. We kept telling him to go back home and rest, but he wouldn't listen." Jolly tries to avoid the question.
"Yeah, I get that,” you cast a glance at him. “What did you mean?" You ask Matt directly.
"What?" He responds like a deer caught in headlights.
"What did you mean when you said he'd listen to me because..." You couldn't say it; just the thought had your face growing hot.
"Look, Dierkes, you go. We're gonna go talk," Jolly nods at his friend and spins around the desk chair Noah was sitting in, taking the seat for himself at the computer.
Matt enthusiastically makes his exit. Gathering his bags, he all but runs out of the studio, out from under the weight of your gaze. When the door closes behind him, you sit in the chair next to Jolly, and he turns his own chair to face you.
"He's crazy about you," he starts without hesitation. You pick at the leather of the armrest as your heart begins to race. "He talks about you all the time. Honestly, I don't know how you haven't noticed. He's liked you for months."
"You're serious?" You ask, meeting his eyes, which hold nothing but sincerity.
"You can't say you haven't seen it even a little!” He tilts his head and leans back against the chair. “The way he looks at you, he drops everything for you. Always coming to your side whenever some weird guy flirts with you. He hasn't gone on a date in ages because he's waiting for you!" You bite your lip, unwilling to believe what you're hearing, until Jolly says quietly, "I know you feel the same too."
"What?!" you raise your voice automatically, wishing immediately that you didn't when you see him smiling knowingly at you.
"I see the way you look at him too, when he's not looking. You go bright red when he teases you. Just like you are now. You know I see everything.” You press your hands to your cheeks, and they feel like ice compared to the heat from your face. "You should go talk to him. At least convince him to take a fucking week off," he spins around in his chair, waving his hand and going back to the piece he was working on before all this.
You sit frozen to the spot for a moment trying to process what he'd just said. Noah likes you. He likes you back.
Jolly's voice rings in your head as you stand. "He's liked you for months." You head for the door, out of the building, and into your car on autopilot. Taking a deep breath before turning the key in the ignition and pulling out onto the road in the direction of Noah’s house.
The whole way your mind is racing. "He's crazy about you." You had no idea what you were going to say when you got there. "He talks about you all the time... the way he looks at you." You were telling yourself it wasn't true; it couldn't be. The man you've admired and apparently not-so-secretly adored all this time felt the same way? It was crazy. It couldn’t be true. And yet the concept still makes your heart race, and that treacherous heat makes your skin flush.
You find yourself parked outside his house, your car neatly on the drive right next to his. For several minutes, you go back and forth on whether to go in or just leave. The idea of really confronting him about this situation brings you nothing but anxiety, but the fact that he’s unwell and pushing himself so hard, the need to check on him and at least make sure he’s okay, brings you to his front door.
When you knock, there’s no answer. You wonder if he's watching you from the doorbell camera and choosing to ignore you. After knocking again, you decide to just use your key instead, hoping he won’t be too mad.
Inside, you find no signs of life. All the lights downstairs are off, and the house is statically silent as though it were totally empty. You’d think it were empty if not for Noah’s car parked outside.
You finally figure out where he is when you head upstairs and see the glow of purple LEDs leak from underneath his bedroom door. Your hand hesitates in a fist before you pluck up the courage to knock. No response. You knock a little louder, but still, no response.
Pushing the slightly ajar door open, you peek into his room, finding him lying in bed. Curled up under a blanket, fast asleep. You can’t help but smile at the peaceful sight. He must’ve been exhausted to fall asleep so quickly and deeply. You back out of his room and close the door softly, treading lightly as you go back down the stairs to the kitchen.
You jump up to sit on the counter and rest your head back against the upper cabinets, closing your eyes. How could you be in this situation? You were content to never tell Noah about your feelings for him, and never ever did you expect your feelings to be reciprocated. You’re still convinced this is all some joke or a misunderstanding. He ran from that studio because he was humiliated by the thought of liking you. There’s no way Noah could want you the way you want him. But after what Matt and Jolly said, you’ll never be content until you know the truth. Even if he denies it, you still have the chance to salvage this friendship that’s so dear to you. He doesn’t know how you feel. It’s not too late to save this, and if he confesses... Shaking your head, you can’t even entertain that thought.
To distract yourself from the feeling of impending doom and to make yourself useful, you decide to cook. Pulling your phone from your pocket, a quick Google search suggests chicken noodle soup as a good option for someone who’s unwell. Warm, high in protein, easy to digest. You slide from the counter to rummage through the kitchen, mentally thanking whoever went grocery shopping recently for having everything you need for the simple recipe.
Following the instructions on your phone, you work quickly, having the food prepared in just over thirty minutes. After preparing a serving in a bowl and buttering some bread too, you balance both on a plate, almost forgetting the spoon before you go carefully back up the stairs.
You weren’t expecting him to be awake yet, but when you knock, he answers.
"Yeah?" His voice is hoarse and quiet even through the door.
"It's me," you say.
There's a brief moment of silence that has anxiety clawing at your throat before he replies, "Go away."
"Noah, please. I just-"
"Just go away," he rasped louder. "I don't wanna talk."
You sigh, feeling the urge to run, but you suppress it. "But I made you soup," you try, but he says nothing. "Can I at least come in and leave this for you?" Again, no response. You can’t help but sigh quietly. He can be stubborn as a bull at times. "I'm coming in. You better be decent," you try to joke. Once more, no response.
You toe the door open gently, stepping into the dim room to find Noah now rolled over in bed, his back to you, still cocooned in the blanket. Moving over some of the items on his desk—a coaster, a book with a dollar bill sticking out as a bookmark, a half-empty bottle of water, the TV remote—you set the food down. Seeing his phone next to him on the mattress, you take it and check the charge, 12%, and a text from Matt that read, “I’m sorry man.” You crouch down by the bed and put it on to charge, then replace it next to him on the mattress.
You stay there for a moment. Internally warring with yourself on whether you were really about to broach this topic. Ultimately, you decide you just have to know the truth.
"Noah, I know you don't wanna talk, but-"
"Good. Go then," his coarse words sting. True or not, sick or not, he had no right to snap like that.
"Stop being so fucking harsh with me. I didn't have to come here for you, I didn't have to spend time in your kitchen making food for you, but I did. The least you could do is say thank you.” You wait for him to respond, waiting for an apology, but he says nothing.
The urge to run like Matt ran from the studio was strong; your legs flex under you, and you almost stand, but you don’t want to give him the satisfaction. More so, you don’t want to leave him when he's unwell.
"What they said back there," biting the bullet, your voice is quieter now. "Is it true?"
You didn't expect him to answer, what with his commitment to silence. So when that silence stretched on, you resigned yourself to his will. Standing and heading for the door, hand on the handle, you're stopped by his voice, "That's not how I wanted you to find out."
You pause, waiting to see if he'd continue, but he goes quiet again. "So, it is true?" But he returns to his silence. You go back over to his bed, crouching down again. "Will you talk to me? Please."
Noah doesn’t yield.
"I'm not mad or upset. I just want-" You cut yourself off, struggling to say the words out loud. "Jolly told me he sees the way you look at me, how you go out of your way to do things for me and talk about me all the time," he curls in on himself a little tighter under the blanket, hiding from your words. "He also said... how he sees the way I look at you when you're not looking... and how flustered I get when you tease me..." you trail off. Feeling your heart hammering so hard inside your chest that you can hear it in your ears. You honestly can't believe you just said that out loud.
Noah shifts under the blanket, straightening his legs and rolling onto his back, arm over his face, obscuring his eyes. "You're just saying that," he mumbles.
"Noah, I'm here in your room with homemade chicken noodle soup, even after you told me a million times to leave. Who else would I do that for?"
"You'd do it for Nicholas."
"I would not let Nicholas talk to me like that and walk away unscathed."
He laughs, rubs his eyes, and moves his arm, finally looking at you. He has a despondent expression on his face, but somewhere underneath is a slight smile. You smile softly, happy to finally see his face.
"I'm sorry," he tries, but you shake your head.
"Don't be,” you say, taking a deep breath. “I'd probably freak out too if you found out I love you like that."
"You- What?" He sits up a little straighter.
"Don't make me say it again," you groan and rest your forehead on the mattress.
Feeling the bed move, you look up to see him sitting upright and staring down at you. You move too to sit on the end of his bed. Silence once again fills the room, neither one of you knowing exactly what to say next.
Noah closes his eyes and runs a hand through his already messy hair. "Jolly told me so many times to just tell you, but I convinced myself there's no way you felt the same," he confessed.
You almost felt sick from the adrenaline racing through your veins. Looking down at your lap and playing with the sleeves of your hoodie. "Well, I do. He said the same to me too," you let out a bitter laugh. "Seems as though Joakim has been playing cupid." When you look back up, he still seems tense. "Noah, I'm not lying," you hold out your hand to him, which he takes and laces your fingers together. "I was never going to tell you because..." you hesitate again, but it’s too late to turn back now. "I never thought you'd like me back. I thought you'd laugh in my face. I don't deserve you."
"Don't say that. It's me who doesn’t deserve you. You're always so kind and generous,” he glances at the bowl of soup. “Even when I really don't deserve it."
"You do deserve it. You deserve kindness because you give so much kindness. Jolly was right, you do so much for me even when you don't need to. You drove me everywhere before I got my car, even when you were busy. Which I felt so fucking guilty for because I knew you had enough on your plate as it was."
"You know, I hated when you got that car," he smiled shyly. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "I wanted to drive you everywhere, all the time. Whenever you needed. I loved those times when we could just... be alone together," he sighed, not in sadness but in relief. A small smile on his lips.
You don’t think you could handle your heart racing any faster than it already was and decide to change the topic slightly. "How are you feeling, anyway?"
"Terrible, honestly. My throat is fucked. I don't know how I'm gonna finish recording."
"Yeah, you're not," you state. "You're gonna eat the delicious soup I made you, and you're gonna rest. No recording vocals until you're better. I’d say no producing until you’re better, but I think we’d have to detain you. Lock you in the bathroom or something,” you sadly break your hand apart from his and reach for the food on the side table as he chuckles under his breath. "What's so funny?" You ask.
Shaking his head, he says, "nothing. Just, they really were right, I do listen to you.”
Handing him the bowl, you smile teasingly at him, "because you love me."
"Yeah, I do," he smiles genuinely, caressing your hands briefly as he takes it from you to set it on his lap. "Can you stay?” he asks quietly. “I don't want you to go away. Will you sit with me?"
Your heart warms at his sincerity. “Of course I will.” You climb onto his bed and rest back against the headboard next to him in the space he made. A comfortable, familiar setting you’d both been in numerous times before. He leans over to the side table and tosses the TV remote onto your lap.
“Find something for us,” he says. You press the power button and load up Netflix to scroll through the categories as he eats. “Mm,” he hums with a mouthful of food. “This is so good, I should get sick more often. I didn’t know you could cook like this.”
“Yeah, don’t you dare,” you smile as you continue to scroll. The options turn into blurs as they pass by on the screen. Your mind was well and truly wandering at the thought of what was going to come next for you and Noah. Were you dating now? Did he even want that right now, or would it take time? These were all questions that would have to be asked and answered tomorrow. For now, you settled with the contentment that your current relationship wasn’t completely ruined and felt thrilled at the prospect of it becoming something more.
“Oh!” Noah’s exclamation breaks your train of thought. “Remind me to beat the shit out of Matt the next time I see him.”
You break out in a laugh and lean in closer to his side. “Not if I get my hands on him first.”

warm and alive (noah sebastian x reader one shot)
Tumblr media
18+, mdni, sexual talk, smut, f oral receiving, p and v unprotected (wrap it before u tap it ;))
it was late in the evening, and the dark had already taken over the sky. the puffs of air escaping from my lips raised up in the air, disappearing like smoke around me. it was cold outside, making me bury my hands deeper in the pockets of my black coat, that was despite the furry layer on the inside failing to keep me warm tonight.
music was blasting through my ears, distracting me and keeping me company on my walk home. despite my mind always wandering off because of the melodies and lyrics creating images inside my mind because i loved to daydream, i was focused enough to also be in enough touch of my surroundings and get into my street safely.
as i looked around me, the apartment building across from my own had several lights on in different windows. most were just the classic warm yellow one, and some had different colors, like red, pink or blue. my eyes dart around, and pause at a certain window. a tall figure, belonging to a young man, leans on his open window with both his elbows, as long drags of his cigarette escapes from his mouth. he was fully covered in all kinds of colored, mostly faded tattoos. i had never seen him before, he must have just moved in here, since the apartment was empty for a week or two.
his dark eyes landed back down on me, making contact, looking intrigued and interested as they were slightly narrowed, taking in my physique quickly. his dark chocolate, mid long hair was slightly pushed back, just a strand hanging in front of his eyes, and a tight black tee shows how well trained his arms and chest were. it made my heart jump for a moment, and my throat turned slightly tighter because of some nerves kicking in, a small flutter going through my stomach.
there was absolutely no denying that this man was extremely attractive, and by the way his lips that were going back around his cigarette turned into a slight smirk he clearly noticed my slightly more nervous behavior, and i quickly looked down again, eyes stuck on the concrete tiles underneath my feet, even though they rather stayed on the man instead, completely captivated by him already.
and we both didn't seem to be able to forget that short moment of observation. the following week, every time i'd come home back from work he'd be there again, hanging out the window, sometimes sitting on his windowsill with one leg hanging out whilst smoking, the other one stretched out in front of him. every single time, we would make eye contact. every day it would be longer, by looking at him earlier as i crossed my street. the more we did it, the less shy i became, not letting my eyes dart away that easily like i did before. he pulled me in like some magnet, with a strong electric force, and it did more and more with me each time.
blushing, a rapid heartbeat---and breathing even at some point, as i became more and more hypnotized by his longing stare---trembling legs, stomach in knots and heat in my chest, but most of all, a very frustrating feeling between my goddamn thighs as well. and the longer we would stare, the quicker and stronger it was there.
and he absolutely knew, because he would lick his lips, he would take a longer drag of his cigarette, rolling it around between his long wise and middle finger, and his eyes became darker and more intense. they would take in every step, every inhale, every movement of my curves, every outfit i'd wear, the way my hair was styled that day, the way i was batting my lashes at him.
we longed for each other, but still wouldn't say a word.
one evening, as i once again grew tired of the hooks of my bra pressing uncomfortably against my back, i decided to take it off, something i always do after a long day of work. as i walked towards the window of my bedroom to close the curtains, my heart made a big jump---he was there. right in my view, right across my own window, facing me as well.
a lump appeared in my throat, and he stared right back. his window was closed now, and he was not hanging out of it as usual with a cigarette in hand---instead it seemed like he was just about to close his own curtains as well. we were literally mirroring the same pose, having our curtain in hand, but pausing as soon as our eyes met. my heart was hammering, and he was just staring, as if he was waiting, waiting for my next move---almost daring me to make a move.
and then, as heat was spreading not only to my cheeks but also my whole entire body, i took off my shirt, letting it drop to the ground, revealing my bra i was about to take off next. the corners of his mouth slowly and slightly curled up, eyes narrowing as usual, taking in the sight of my chest in the black lace. one corner of my lips couldn't help but twitched up as well---sultry like, mischievous wise.
then, i slowly slid the straps off my shoulders, and it almost looked like that made his breath hitch in his throat for a moment. one of my hands slowly got behind my back, the daring glimmer of my own eyes never leaving his, unclasping it. the lace fell to the ground, revealing my chest to him, and that made one of his brows rise in amusement, his pupils seeming to get darker somehow, blending in with the color of his irises.
my smile slightly widened as i took in his little needy expression, his eyes ranking down as if he wished he could take the rest off me as well, and i then closed the curtains---letting a big shaky breath escape from my lips that i pulled between my teeth next.
fuck, that excited me a lot, and i saw his lustful eyes in front of me still, as i closed my own. my lips then slightly parted as more heavy breathing escaped, feeling worked up, feeling desperate. desperate for my mysterious and attractive neighbor to do something about it, instead of my trembling fingers that went down slowly.
but after a few minutes, i then heard some loud knocking on my door downstairs, making me open my eyes and jumping me awake out of my steamy trance. a frustrated sound escaped my mouth as my heart hammered in my chest, quickly putting on a robe as i made my way down stairs, wondering who needs me at this time after work.
when i opened the door, i needed to tightly hold the door handle for support of not stumbling backwards, as i met the two dark brown eyes of the neighbor from across the street now standing in front of me. and god, he was even taller like this, making me need to tilt my head up to him, my eyes taking him in quickly before doing so. he was wearing a loose tank top with sweats underneath despite the weather, and his muscular, tattooed arms were being exposed even more, and a part of his just as tattooed chest as well.
'good evening,' his deep, slightly hoarse voice greeted me from the cold, chilly air outside, both making me slightly shiver. his eyes slowly ranked to my robe, being slightly loose because of the quick knot i had to make to hold the thin, light blue fabric together. the corner of his mouth slightly tugged up because of that, his stare like fire burning right through me, before meeting my gaze again.
'i had to stop by after that little show you did for me,' he then continued, his hands in the pocket of his sweats as he slightly tilted his head to the side, which made it hard for me to function properly, to get out my first words to him as smoothly as he seemed to be able to talk to me.
i cleared my throat and took in a quiet, shaky breath before answering with a slow smug expression appearing on my flustered face, 'for you? that's interesting. i think you were just lucky to be there at that moment. always take my bra off after a long day of work.'
he hummed at that with an amused twinkle and smile on his face. 'is that so? well, guess you can call me really lucky then,' he smirked, not seeming to believe my words, and my own grin turned wider as i leaned my head against the door, still holding it.
'so you're saying that i came here for disappointment? can't expect you to continue it, hm?' he then added, and i softly chuckled. the chemistry between us was thick, strong and heated already, leaving me aching for more, aching how much more needy i could get him for me, how much more he could worship my body by just his lustful stare.
'oh, i didn't say that,' i then responded, stepping slightly more aside, a gesture that he could come in. as he was about to enter with a smug and amused glimmer in his eyes still, i then quickly stepped in front of him, gently placing my small hand on his chest, which caused him to raise both his eyebrows in question.
'at least tell me your name, neighbor.' my hand slowly removed itself from his chest by going up and down first, his eyes flickering down at it, before then meeting my own again with a intrigued smirk.
'noah,' he answered, and i clicked my tongue.
'y/n,' i introduced myself back, and that made his smirk only broaden, the twinkle in his eyes growing even more, as if he knew he would enjoy using my name for whatever dirty fantasies he was holding captured inside his mind.
'well, y/n, your little relief for your back after your long day of work wasn't the only time i've noticed you, but you know that, noah then spoke, his husky voice closer to me now that he slowly stepped inside, closing the door behind him. the more steps he took, the more i became pressed against the wall.
'your little adorable walk every time you came home from work, all lost in your music, coming out of those black matching headphones of yours, matching your outfits', he continued, his body being towered over my smaller frame, and i gulped in both nerves and excitement, already clenching now and then by the way he looked down on me and spoke every word so sultry and deeply alone. 'so concentrated whilst pulling those gorgeous lips of yours between your teeth now and then.'
noah slowly moved his large hand to my chin, tilting my face even more up to him as he brushed my lips with his thumbs, seemed to be mesmerized by it, craving it. my legs have already begun to tremble in need of him, just by that small touch alone, and he seemed to be very amused by the way i reacted to it, as his devious smile grew bigger.
'and those skirts? don't you think they are a little short, darling? i mean, i am not complaining, but they drove me crazy all week. made me think of how great the view would be in front of me, just like those pretty tight jeans you're wearing right now.'
he slowly turned me around, causing me to let out a shaky breath of both excitement and anticipation, pushing me against the wall. he let out a deep, satisfied hum, practically feeling his stare burn through the fucking fabric. but as soon as his hands found my behind, squeezing it eagerly, he made me close to snapping completely more and more.
'fuck. feels even more firm than i imagined.' noah's voice sounded even more huskier than before, and shit, it made me even more aroused than i already was.
his hands slowly moved upwards, over the smooth fabric of my bathrobe, squeezing my chest even tighter than my ass, making me yelp out of surprise and pleasure. his lips already found my ear quickly after that, his hot breath fanning over it and my neck, his breathing fast and ragged.
'not gonna lie, i enjoyed our little eye fucking this week, but damn, the little sounds you make are even better darling,' he breathed, making me slightly whimper, his hands still holding my breasts firmly, his thumbs lightly rubbing over it. his hips were grinding against my behind, making me able to feel his own excitement grow.
'wonder what else i can bring out of you, and how, my pretty girl. you in? you want that?'
'yes,' i eagerly breathed out, and that made him turn me around in a quick movement, his own body being pushed flush against mine, before he then grabbed me by my legs, lifting me up and wrapping my legs around him, and held me steady in his strong arms as a mischievous, dark smile grew on his attractive face.
'yeah?' he cooed, his smug fucking smile only growing by that, and it made me want to crash my own lips against him, to make him breathless and even more eager for me. 'glad to hear that, my pretty neighbor. cause since the first time we made eye contact, i wasn't able to stop fantasizing about you.'
my cheeks flushed by hearing that, my heart rate sped up, my hands shaking by anticipation. 'really hm?' i couldn't help but slightly smirk in filthy amusement, and he mirrored it right away as he nodded.
'mhm. how could my cock not get hard by seeing you all small and needy for me down there on the street? surely had to do something about it each time,' he shrugged, and it knocked the breath out of me for a moment, the filthy words rolling off his tongue just like that. 'but this, oh darling this, is the best way to do something about those cravings for you.'
noah pressed his hard bulge even harder against my damp core, slightly rubbing, making the both of us groan and whimper.
'fuck baby, i don't know how you do it, but i already feel you eagerness through your jeans. so wet already hmm? so ready to be taken by me?'
i heavily nodded at that, pulling my teeth between my lips, and his dark eyes flickered down to it, before then hungrily capturing his own with mine. my own tongue immediately pushed through it, dancing with his, tasting the deliciousness of his need for me.
noah groaned as i pulled his hair as my hands found it, flushing his body even more against mine, before then breaking the kiss to look at me with heavy breathing, every being of him filled with lust and desire for me. 'where do you want to continue this, love?'
'use those trained muscles of yours and carry me upstairs,' i teased him with a sly smile, causing him to deeply chuckle with amusement before then doing what was said, and his quick pace took me to my queen-sized bed in no time.
he placed me down on it in a sitting position, kneeling down between my legs already quickly that he then pushed apart, a wicked smile on his face, painted by the light of the small lamp on the nightstand besides us, and the left overs of the dark of the room around us contoured the rest of his pretty features.
'let me taste you, y/n,' noah whispered hoarsely as his gaze got down to my pants, then back to me again, and i nodded, causing him to instantly begin to unbutton my jeans, pulling it off my legs, his eyes slightly widening at the sight of my thin, see through panties that covered my aching core.
'jesus,' he breathed after a gulp, 'you always wear this underneath?'
'not always,' i smirked, his eyes going back up to mine. 'you are just in luck. again.'
'fuck, yes i am,' he rasped out, his lean fingers slowly and teasingly rubbing up and down the thin lace fabric, which made me shift eagerly against the mattress underneath me with a slight groan. he smiled amusingly at that, looking at me for a moment with a mischievous glint before then tucking my panties down.
'gonna taste you real good y/n, every single inch, every single drop coming out of you, yeah?' noah mumbled, spreading my legs even more, a determined and hungry look on his face. 'have thought about this so much. fuck, can't imagine how good you'd feel wrapped around me, tight and warm.'
his words, combined by the way he looks at my eagerness and rubs and teases it slowly, his warm hands going up and down my thighs as well, makes me moan impatiently, making his lips twitch again, before then finally moving his head down---making fucking eye contact as he flicks his tongue slowly and lightly against me, and my head already quickly dropped back into my shoulders as a low groan escaped my throat.
the feeling of his tongue was amazing, better than i had imagined myself too, and worked slowly against my bud once more before then going deeper inside my slit, sucking and tasting me more intensely, and i was not shy to let him know how much i enjoyed it, the sounds of pure bliss surrounding us both. it made him moan against my clit, vibrating with even more pleasure, humming in appreciation of tasting me, in enjoyment of exploring every inch of me like he promised me he would.
'god,' he then groaned as he pulled back, his lips glinting with my arousal in the dim light, and it made my breathing sped up even more. 'i would love to make you cum like this, but i need to---have to feel you around my cock baby, need to bury me inside of you real deep.'
'please do, please take me,' i eagerly stammered out in between ragged breaths, and he got up and then pulled his tank top over his head in a fast and smooth movement, dropping his sweatpants next, his white underwear showing his need for me very clearly, and it made me even more needy for him.
'that's right baby, you got me so fucking hard for you,' he groaned as he noticed my eyes wandering down, dropping his underwear next, making them widen slightly, and i blinked to hide it quickly.
noah hovered over me as i moved my body up my bed to let my head rest against my comfortable pillow, and he positioned himself between my legs, feeling his length already teasing my entrance, and it caused me to buck my hips up in high anticipation, and it let his wicked grin return.
'such a eager little thing you are. ready to be taken by me, darling?'
i nodded as i breathed out a greedy yes, and his pretty brown eyes darkened even more, hypnotizing me as it made my head spin with need as well. he then pushed himself in, and i let out a harsh gasp as his eyes rolled back.
'jesus y/n. so fucking ready for me---' he started to move, his hands placed around both sides of my head, his hands digging into the fabric of my pillow, 'and feeling like a fucking delight. taking me so well.'
'noah,' i moaned out as my eyes shut, jaw dropped by the overwhelming sensations. it made him slip his tongue in as he pulled me into a passionate kiss, our moans and groans muffed by our lips.
'you cry my name so beautifully y/n, need to hear that more than just once. need to hear it as much as possible,' noah panted, trusting faster and deeper, creating a heavenly rhythm between our sweaty bodies, the sounds of our skin adding more heat for us like fuel lighting the flame.
and i cried his name out loud over and over again, like a prayer, like the one thing i only needed that moment, and it was true, he gave me everything i craved. he brushed my messy hair out of my face now and then, making our eye contact intense and strong, adding even more connection between us.
from that moment on, i knew that noah would become more than just my neighbor that captured my body and soul---he would become everything i needed and more, the only fire that would bring me warm and alive in these cold winter days.

Tell Me Why
Tumblr media
Literally nonsense below the cut. I don’t even know how to explain this. Reader is roommates with Noah. Shenanigans ensue. Just pure shenanigans. I am so sorry for what you’re about to read.
As always, MDNI.
CW: swearing, mention of weed, reader is a menace, Noah is a menace in his own right
You twist and turn in the mirror, examining your costume. It was your day off and with Halloween in a month, you figured now was as good a time as any to test out your Halloween costume. Noah, your friend and roommate, had told you a while back that you should dress up as a pirate this year to pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Part of you couldn’t help but giggle, thinking this wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. Rather than dressing as a sexy pirate, you had opted for Jack Sparrow. Correction. CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow.
As the music played softly in your bedroom an idea began to form. You had been on a bit of a 90’s boy band kick lately. Currently you were humming along to Backstreet Boys, examining the eyeliner you had smudged around your eyes to complete the look. See, Noah had been bugging you the entire time he had been home on this particular break in touring. Constant pranks. From moving all your dishes and snacks way up high where you couldn’t reach them to replacing your coffee with literal dirt (which thankfully you were smart enough and awake enough to tell the difference before you fully brewed a pot and drank it). And you happened to know that at this very moment he was in his bedroom, streaming while playing games with some friends of his in the scene. Something scary, if the faint screeched coming from his bedroom were anything to go by.
With a wicked idea and a twinkle in your eye you snatched the fake sword off your bed and skipped out of your bedroom, hell bent on scaring the shit out of him. In the strangest way possible.
As you drew closer to his bedroom door you could hear the chatter from him and his friends. Something about how he was getting off soon. Lots to do before a party he was hosting that night. A surprise for someone. Confused you tipped your head to the side. He hadn’t mentioned anyone coming over that night. Usually he gave you warning so you could choose to join or go somewhere else for a while.
Shrugging, not to be derailed you burst through his bedroom door, sword waving wildly and began to sing.
“Ye be me fire,” you sang, fighting back another giggle at Noah’s startled screech.
“What the fuck?” Noah questioned, his eyes wide as he looked you up and down.
“Me one desire,” you continued, a smirk playing on your lips. He had been so caught up in what he was doing he hadn’t heard your clunky ass boots coming down the hallway. Everyone’s laughter filtered through the speakers on his computer.
At that point Noah lost it, his own laughter overtaking him as he doubled over, the game long forgotten. Fighting back your own uncontrollable laughter you pushed on, finishing out the verse.
“Are-“ he tried to speak, wiping tears from his eyes. “Are you fucking stoned?”
“No! I’m a pirate!” You shot back, making your voice as gruff as you could. “A Backstreet Pirate.”
Noah couldn’t contain himself any longer. His laughter filled the room, drowning out the chatter and giggles coming from his speakers. As always, once he got going you couldn’t hold back anymore. You joined in his laughter, fake sword dropping to the floor beside you. That was one of the great things about being Noah’s friend. His laughter was contagious, almost forcing you to join in, even when you didn’t want to.
“Y’all see what I have to fucking deal with?” He chuckled. “Jesus Christ.”
“You started it!”
“Whatever. Go get changed. We gotta go shopping. You have plans tonight.” Noah shook his head as he spoke, his smile wide as he looked at you.
“I know!” You sang as you turned and did your best Jack Sparrow run out of his room.
Noah watched, shaking his head as another fit of giggles bubbled out of him. Sometimes he questioned whether or not he had made the right choice letting you move in there with him, but never seriously. Like when you asked him if he would still be your friend if you were a worm and slithered around the house leaving a wormy trail everywhere. But good god, you were anything but boring. You were one of his best friends and he wouldn’t trade you or these moments for anything.

A little spoiler of what I'm writing 👀
"So you didn’t notice the way he was looking at you?" he said, a hint of sarcasm in his voice, his eyes challenging you.
"I was just being polite."
Your voice came out softer than you expected, but he didn’t seem satisfied with that answer. The intensity in Noah's gaze was overwhelming, and he kept his hands on you, holding you by the waist, pulling you even closer, as if he needed to reaffirm that you were his.
"Polite? Is that all you think you were doing?" He leaned in, his face close to your ear, and the whisper sent a shiver down your spine. "Then I think you need a reminder," he murmured, his lips grazing the skin just below your ear.
His touch was firm yet teasing. He watched every reaction, the tension between you two growing with every second, every moment he kept you close, under his control, just his.
"I’ll make sure you don’t forget who you belong to!"

Prompt: Professor Davis is a stuck-up know-it-all who hates when you talk back, especially in front of the class. Perhaps, some discipline is necessary to keep you in line.
THIS IS A FANFICTION USING REAL PEOPLE IN A FICTIONAL SITUATION! I AM NOT IMPLYING THESE PEOPLE WOULD DO THE THINGS IN THE STORY OR ACT THE WAY THEY DO IN THE STORY IN REAL LIFE! IT IS FICTION! IT IS JUST FOR FUN! <3

He was a stubborn know-it-all, and a stuck-up smart-ass. Therefore, you loved pushing his buttons, especially in front of the class.
He hated being wrong, and he was a perfectionist who nit-picked everything you did.
Yet, from the first day you met your physics professor, you were captivated by his sheer ego and wit.
You wanted to hate him because of how frustrating he was, but something about the way his eye always caught yours mid-lecture, and the sheer glint of pride that would shadow his cocky demeanour when you proved him wrong: well it left your heart pounding every time you stepped foot into his class.
He acted like he hated it, and if the sass came from any other student, he probably did.
But from you? God, he lived for it.
Professor Davis loved your technicality and scholarly attitude, and he admired your confidence and flirtatious jesting; but it took everything in him to push away the urge to treat you like homework by throwing you onto his desk and doing you all night long.
He knew it was wrong to think this way, especially during the countless nights he relished in the mental image of you in that short skirt and collared jumper, the hand that stroked himself in the shower a pitiful attempt at imagining it was yours.
It was wrong to imagine fucking you and delving his head between your legs, lapping up your arousal until you shook from the pleasure he gifted you, his student.
The code of conduct required teachers to remain professional and competent; and not have their minds clouded with lust; even if it was between two consenting adults.
It was no doubt that Professor Davis was the hottest teacher on your university campus. Students oggled over him constantly, especially with the way his not-so-hidden tattoos poked just above his black turtleneck, or how his hands that wrote out equations on the chalkboard were covered in intricate drawings. It was a mystery what else was lying underneath his all-black uniform, but it always left your mind wandering to scandalous thoughts.
The academic power and breach of trust that would ensue if anything happened between the two of you would surely make him lose his job.
But you wanted to push the boundaries, your mind begging to watch his inked fingers sink into your pussy.
You were sitting in your usual spot in class, your pen copying the equation Dr. Davis had placed on the board. He turned, eyes meeting yours for what felt like the hundredth time this period before he scanned the room, twirling the chalk between his fingers.
“You have one minute,” He said, his free hand running through his chestnut locks, and the sound of pencils scraping paper filled the room. You averted your attention from him, something hard to do because you loved the way he would tilt his head back to shake his hair back into place, before jotting down your work.
You quickly answered the equation, placing your pen back onto the desk before resting your elbow on the surface, your chin sitting on your palm. Once the brunette noticed you were done he waited a few more seconds before announcing to the class to stop.
Watching him turn back to the chalkboard, he expanded on the equation, answering it with the given numbers. He faced the class, pointing at it, “If your answer looks different, you did it wrong.”
His tone was cocky and rude, and you squinted your eyes in frustration at him.
He is such a dick. And so fucking attractive.
Glancing between your paper and the board you shook your head slightly. You knew you had the correct answer, but what he had written did not match what was on your page.
A few students began to murmur around you, comparing their answers to one another. The few who had gotten it correct looked at their paper confused, and Professor Davis watched his students with a disappointed look.
“Did anybody solve it correctly, or do we need to review the literal basics before your exam next week?”
You raised your hand and Professor Davis rolled his eyes, an attempt to be demeaning, but you knew behind his gaze a tinge of playfulness lingered.
“Dr. Davis, you’re asking us to calculate variance, right?” You pushed, raising a brow.
He hummed in response, nodding curtly as he leaned back onto his desk. Crossing his arms and legs, he chewed on the inside of his cheek, watching you with dark eyes as he awaited your response.
“Then you answered it wrong.”
He shared a smug smile, tilting his head slightly before looking at the board, “How?”
“The degree of scatter is parameterized by the quantity. So you placed the 3 in the wrong spot. Therefore, you got the wrong answer.”
The brunette scoffed, standing straight as he walked over to your desk. Leaning forward he placed the chalk on top of your notebook, his hair falling over his forehead, “Why don’t you come to teach the class then Miss. Y/L/N?”
I gave him a sarcastic smile as I slid out of my seat, “Maybe we’ll all learn something then, huh?”
A low laugh erupted from the class and Professor Davis bit back a smile, his jaw clenching in annoyance as his eyes followed your trail to the front of the class.
You flattened your skirt as you bent down to pick up the eraser, wiping away your professor's mistake and filling in the equation with the correct numbers.
It was such a small mistake, that it surprised you he even made it. You glanced at him briefly, avoiding his gaze as you walked back to your desk.
He held his hand open and you placed the chalk in his large palm, your fingers grazing his skin in temptation.
His onyx eyes refused to leave yours as he spoke to the class, “You’re all free to leave. Make sure you read chapter 8 for Thursday as we talk about angular momentum and static friction.”
As people began packing up and exiting the room your attention turned to Dr. Davis when he called your name.
“Y/N, I’d like to speak with you.”
Your heart hammered as he nodded toward his desk, and you packed your items into your bookbag, hooking it over your shoulder as you approached him.
Professor Davis walked toward the entrance door, nodding at the remaining students and giving them curt smiles. Once the last person left he closed the door and locked it.
He then turned to face you, folding his arms, “I’m sick and tired of your attitude Miss. Y/L/N, especially when it’s in front of the class.”
You shrugged, tilting your head back in annoyance, “Look I want to pass this class, and when you’re constantly wrong, I’m going to speak up.”
“Constantly?” Dr. Davis laughed bitterly, “I think I deserve a bit more respect from you.”
“Respect goes both ways Professor,” You licked your lips as he stared at you intensely, his eyes dancing with unspoken words. The tension between the two of you caused your breathing to quicken, and he slowly approached the desk.
“You got quite the mouth on you, y’know?” His voice was hoarse as if he was holding back his next words, “Someone should teach you what to do with it.”
You swallowed in response, his words causing you to chew on your lip in anticipation as your heart raced.
“You’re inappropriate,” He spoke lowly, stepping closer toward you with each word, and you backed up from him, “Disrespectful, Disruptive-” you gently hit the brick wall behind his desk, his eyes narrowing at you as his forehead was inches from yours, “you’re distracting.”
Dr. Davis’s proximity made your stomach begin to churn with butterflies as your eyes danced between his own and his lips, before staring at the smile that grew on his expression.
“Discipline is necessary,” He said as you looked up at him, his eyes filled with infatuation.
You dared stifle a laugh, “You want me to write a thousand-word essay apology?”
Professor Davis was careful to not touch you, but his body was almost pressed against yours, daring to push you into the wall. You wanted him to make the first move, but you knew he wouldn’t. Not without a little motivation.
“No,” He swallowed, his lips parting as he stared at yours, almost desperate.
“Then what?” You pried, looking up through your lashes, taunting him as you placed your bag on the ground.
The two of you stood there, breaths exchanging as the warmth between you built. Your eyes stared at his lips again before flickering to his eyes as a form of contentment.
“fuck it,” he muttered ever so quietly before his hand reached up to your jaw, lips attaching to your own in haste.
You closed the gap between your bodies by tugging on his sweater, pulling him toward you as he pressed his hips into yours.
He held your face firmly as your lips melded together, the kiss opening as he pressed his tongue against yours. You couldn’t help but moan into him, brows furrowing in lust and need as his free hand gripped your hip. He trailed his fingers down your leg, reaching for the exposed skin underneath your skirt.
The unholy sounds that escaped you as he gripped onto your body left him groaning, tugging at the fabric of your long sleeve.
He pulled away, allowing you to peel the layer of clothing off before pulling you against him once again.
Dr. Davis wrapped his arms around you in an embrace as he kissed you with desire and greed. He pulled you toward his desk, pushing off the books and papers, letting them fall to the ground in ignorance.
You sat on his desk, allowing the brunette to push you down so your elbows supported you from behind. Staring at him, your skirt slid down your thighs as Professor Davis pushed your legs apart, staring at you hungrily.
“Look at you, literally begging for someone to put you in your place,” He scoffed, tugging at your underwear before letting it snap back against your skin, “Pathetic.”
You rolled your eyes as you sat there, soaking and desperate, “What are you going to do about it?”
Professor Davis kneeled as he spoke, “I’ve always wanted to taste you.”
He pulled your panties to the side as you slid to the edge of the desk. You watched him eagerly, abdomen clenching in anticipation as he slid his fingers along your folds.
“Please-”
“Sir.” He scolded, slapping your desire slightly, and you impatiently rutted your hips toward him.
“Please sir,” You begged, and he obliged, burying himself between your legs.
The first strip of his tongue made you shake, the second one called out his name.
“Professor I-”
“Just say, Noah.” He sighed, sucking on the skin that created a haze in your mind. You hummed.
Noah hungrily devoured you, lapping up your arousal before sinking his fingers into you. You groaned in relief at the feeling, and he curled and twisted, pulling an orgasm from you in seconds.
But then he didn’t stop.
You cried as he pulled you into him, refusing to move as he kept eating you out with fervour. The overstimulation was almost painful and you tried pushing his head away, but he held your thighs against his face firmly, lapping and sucking at the skin in hunger and punishment.
Your legs shook as your head tilted back in lustful agony, begging him to stop.
He finally pulled away at his own pace, breathing heavily, “You don’t get to tell me to stop. I’ll make you cum as much as I want.”
You groaned at his words, allowing you to lay back fully as your legs spread wider for him. Your hand gripped Noah’s hair, pulling him toward you as he began exploring your body once again.
“If you’re going to discipline me like this, I’ll be speaking up in class much more.”
Noah immediately pulled away with a scoff, standing up to watch you below. He began to pull apart his belt, unzipping his fly as he stroked himself from above his briefs, “You’re such a brat you know that-”
He pulled down your underwear, tossing it onto the ground before pulling you off the desk. He turned you around, bending you over the wooden surface, “-and fuck I love it.”
He flipped your skirt up, exposing your ass as he slapped the skin. He pressed your chest into the desk as he spit into his hand, stroking himself.
You felt Noah line up against you, and in greed you pushed back, earning another slap across your skin.
“That impatient?” He laughed, reaching to grip a fistful of your hair. He tugged you back to look at him, before pushing into your body without warning.
A string of curses left his lips as his hips slapped against you, the size of his cock stretching and filling your desperate core. Your arms reached forward to grip the edge of the desk, holding onto the wood with mercy.
“You feel better than I ever could’ve imagined.” He whispered, quiet whimpers escaping his chest as he fucked you harshly, pounding faster with each thrust.
Your whole body shook as the sounds of sex filled the room, your eyes rolling back in pleasure as Noah gave you everything he had, months of tension easing as the two of you finally gave in to temptation. He gripped your hips with both of his hands, pulling you as he pushed into you. His fingers dug into your ass as he slapped you again, your face pressed into the desk.
“You-you get the problems wrong on purpose-” You cried as Noah gave you another orgasm, your body clenching around his through your release.
Your professor slowed his pace, tilting his head to watch as his cock slid in and out of you, the slick of your cum causing him to groan.
He didn’t answer your question, sliding out of your body and tugging on your arms to pull you off the desk.
“Get on your knees so I can fuck your mouth. That way you’ll shut the fuck up,” Noah growled.
You followed his instruction, succumbing to him as he gripped either side of your head. You took him eagerly into your mouth, sucking all of him as he pushed his length against your tongue.
Noah thrust into your mouth quickly, causing you to gag. He thrust a few more times before his head fell back, eyes closing while he held you taut against him.
“Fuck,” he cried, and you squeezed your eyes shut, his release coating the back of your throat.
You swallowed everything he gave you, smiling up at him in contentment. Noah’s chest heaved, legs shaky as he zipped himself back up, buckling his belt. He helped you up off the floor and you licked your lips, the salty tang of Noah reminiscent.
“Same time next week?” You asked, straightening your skirt as you leaned down to grab your underwear.
“How about I take you to dinner first?” He straightened the collar of his turtle neck, and you couldn’t help but look away, blushing.

Noah Sebastian x Reader
Word Count: 1430
No Warnings just fluff.
Master List
Gentle brown eyes tracked you across the crowded bar, their gaze unwavering. Noah looked like he was trying to win a staring contest you didn’t even know you were part of. He feared that if he so much as blinked, you'd bolt for the exit like a cat spotting a vacuum. You were, after all, his favorite thing to look at—even more so than the nacho platter he’d passed on his way in. It was honestly a little surprising you’d shown up at all. This wasn’t your kind of scene, and it certainly wasn’t your kind of people. You stuck out like a penguin at a beach party, and you knew it.
You could feel the stares from the surrounding crowd—the silent, calculating judgment from women who couldn’t quite figure out why Noah kept you around. "Character building," he’d joked once when someone asked. He loved to tease you about the women with their perfectly blown-out hair, designer clothes, and wallets that probably weighed more than their small dogs. Somehow, those same women still glared at you like you’d stolen the last pair of shoes in their size. You always waved him off, rolling your eyes. “Trust me,” you’d say. “No one is envying me.”
But Noah never let you get away with self-deprecation. He took every opportunity to remind you how amazing he thought you were. It didn’t matter that your ears still bore faint scars from your gauging days or that your laugh had a wheeze at the end that made you sound like an offbeat accordion. To him, you were spectacular—not because of how you looked, but because you unapologetically owned every part of who you were.
From his spot at the bar, Noah watched you try your best to mingle with his friends, faking small talk like it was an Olympic sport you were determined to win. He couldn’t help but smile—he knew you’d rather be at home in your pajamas, eating snacks and roasting bad TV shows. That’s why, after a long sigh, he decided to rescue you. He pushed off his barstool, prepared to swoop in.
But before he could reach you, Joakim came out of nowhere like a scene-stealing sidekick. Noah froze as Joakim slung an arm over your shoulder and whisked you toward the other side of the room with all the casual confidence of someone herding a cat. Watching you disappear toward the dance floor, Noah smiled to himself, knowing you’d probably give Joakim a piece of your mind later.
“This is a terrible idea,” you muttered to Joakim, glaring down at your heels like they were plotting against you. “I can’t dance in these.”
Joakim just grinned, already grabbing your hand like a man on a mission. “You just have to move. No one’s gonna notice your questionable dance moves—except maybe Noah.” He jerked his head toward the bar, where Noah still stood watching like a hawk.
Joakim gave Noah a cheeky wave as if to say, “I’ve got this,” while you sighed dramatically. Noah finally relaxed, knowing you were in good hands—for now. He shook his head with a chuckle and turned back to his drink, trusting that Joakim’s chaos would keep you on your toes while he caught up with old friends.
"My feet hurt!" you yell, limping toward Jolly with all the grace of a baby giraffe. "Why did I think heels were a good idea? This is why I’m not fashionable."
Jolly pauses mid-dance, raising an eyebrow. "You think it’s the heels? I think it’s the fact that your ‘dancing’ looks like a chicken trying to fly."
"Wow, rude," you say, slipping off your shoes and handing them to him. "Here. If you’re gonna insult me, you might as well hold my heels and carry me to the bar like a gentleman."
Jolly laughs, shaking his head. "I’ll carry the shoes, not you. I draw the line at piggybacks. Here, lean on me—just not too much. I need to preserve my dignity."
With an Oscar-worthy sigh, you drop onto a barstool as though the weight of the world has finally been lifted from your shoulders. "I’m ready to go," you announce like a martyr.
Jolly orders drinks, and you scan the room, zeroing in on Noah—or rather, attempting to. You couldn’t leave without him; after all, he’d sneakily insisted you ride with him, knowing full well it was his cunning way to keep you here longer.
"I'm glad you're here," you grumble to Jolly, raising your glass. "I don’t know a single soul here. Except for you. Unfortunately." You take a sip of your vodka cranberry, wincing. "Also, what is this music? Who plays slow-dancing songs at a birthday party? This DJ needs to be demoted to kids’ parties."
Jolly smirks, keeping his focus fixed ahead. "You’re just bitter no one’s asked you to dance," he teases.
You let out a laugh, pointing at him with your drink. "You danced with me, you hypocrite!"
Before you can say more, hands land gently on your shoulders, sending a chill down your spine. You look up, startled, to see Noah’s face inches from yours.
"Want to dance?" he asks smoothly.
Your shoulders slump. "Not really," you admit, blunt as ever.
"Too bad." He grins, pulling you up before you can protest. "You danced with Jolly; now it’s my turn."
You hastily set down your drink, nearly knocking it over as he tugs you onto the dance floor. "I don’t even have shoes on!" you gripe.
Noah glances down and, without a word, kicks off his own shoes, planting his bare feet on the floor. "There—now we’re both rebels. Come on, princess, the song’s almost over." He flashes his infuriatingly charming smile.
The dance floor is filled with couples holding each other close, swaying like they’re all rehearsing for a rom-com. You wrap your arms around Noah’s shoulders, still grumbling. "Shouldn’t you be dancing with someone who actually likes you? You’re pushing thirty, dude. Should I start taking applications for ‘Date Noah Before He Dies Alone?"
His hands tighten on your hips, pulling you closer. "You’re the worst!" he mutters with a laugh.
You grin. "Thanks. I learned from the best."
Noah’s laughter is warm and genuine, the kind that makes your chest feel lighter. He presses his forehead to yours, holding you close as the music wraps around you. Your eyes flutter shut, letting yourself melt into the moment.
"Thank you," he says softly, his voice carrying an unfamiliar tenderness. "For being here."
You tilt your head slightly, meeting his gaze. His smile is soft, almost shy, as he watches you with quiet intensity. "You know I’d do anything for you," you reply, smirking playfully.
He chuckles, his eyes flickering down for just a second before snapping back to yours. "Anything?" he repeats, his voice light.
"Anything," you confirm with a nod, expecting another teasing comment. But instead, Noah suddenly leans in, his lips brushing against yours in the most unexpected, fleeting kiss.
Your mind blanks for a split second. When he pulls back, you catch the slight widening of his eyes, as though even he didn’t plan to do it.
"I—" he stammers, his crooked smile faltering as he rubs the back of his neck. "Sorry, that just... happened."
You blink, your surprise slowly giving way to a mischievous grin. "What was that?"
"Impulse," he mutters with a sheepish laugh, his eyes flickering with uncertainty.
Shaking your head with a playful grin, you grab his shirt and pull him back down, pressing your lips to his again—this time with purpose. When you finally pull back, the dazed, boyish smile on his face makes your chest flutter.
"Guess I don’t mind your impulses," you tease, smirking as his arms tighten around your waist, holding you close.
Noah’s gaze shifts over your shoulder, and he spots Jolly approaching with your shoes in hand, looking mildly amused. A mischievous grin spreads across Noah’s face as he declares, "Get used to them, because I’m about to act on one again."
Before you can respond, he lets out an exaggerated, maniacal laugh—half joking, half triumphant—as he effortlessly scoops you up into his arms. "We’re leaving!" he announces dramatically, already making his way toward the entrance.
You burst into uncontrollable giggles, smacking his shoulder lightly. "Noah! Put me down!"
"Not a chance, princess," he shoots back, grinning ear to ear. "This is what you get for encouraging my bad behavior!"
Jolly shakes his head behind you, muttering something about "lucky shoes" as he follows, but you’re too busy laughing over Noah’s shoulder to care.

You wake up to find the bed empty, again.  Another morning Noah is hunkered down in the studio before the sun completely rises.
Which isn't helping your situation at all since you woke up horny. You sigh as you roll to your side and an idea hits you.  You slide out of bed and rummage through your shared closet for Noah's favorite hoodie and a pair and black thigh-high socks.
You settle back into the bed and breathe in the lingering cologne that sets your veins ablaze and makes your pussy throb.
Quickly, you grab your phone and take a few suggestive selfies to show him what he is missing. After you press send, you put your phone back on the bedside table just as you hear the studio door open and slam shut. Noah rushes into the room.
“Thigh-high socks and my hoodie?” Noah bites his lip as he takes you in. "You know it makes me weak." Noah's eyes darken.
"I know, " you smirk as your body practically vibrates with excitement and arousal.
“I can’t wait to put babies inside you, little mama.” Noah undresses in record time. The bed creaks as he crawls in between your legs.
In the dim light, Noah can see a flush spread across your cheeks and your pupils blow wide. “You like it too, don’t you?” Noah leans down and presses delicate kisses to your rosy cheek as he lines the head of his throbbing cock to your entrance.
“Fill me up, Noah,” you whine as he pushes into you.
Inch by inch he spreads you wide as your walls adjust. You wrap your legs around his waist to pull him in deeper, but he pulls back dragging out of you. “Slow down, baby,” Noah purrs. “I want you to feel good.” Noah stills completely and leans over to help you pull off his hoodie.
"Much better, " Noah says before nipping at your bare breast. Without warning, he pulls your legs up to settle on his shoulders and then brings your covered foot to his mouth where he plants soft kisses on the bottom of your foot.
"These stay on," he groans, his eyes rolling back.
You suck in a shaky breath as he moves on kissing the other foot. "You have the cutest feet." He rests your feet back on his shoulders to gain more access.
Noah looks down at where you two connect as he slowly thrusts in and out of you. “You take me so well,” he praises. “Fuck, you like when I praise you don’t you.” You bite down a moan and nod.
“Tell me what you want. Use your words.” Noah’s voice turns cold.
“Need more,” you whimper as you move your hand down between your thighs.
“No.” Noah grips your hips and pulls you into him more. Then he grabs your wrists to pin you to the bed. “Mine,” he growls as he adjusts so one large tattooed hand binds both of your wrists. His other hand pinches your pebbled nipple.
“Fuck, Noah,” you cry out.
Your back arches as he pinches the other nipple. You melt under this touch as he trails the calloused pads of his fingers down your torso.
His fingers spread your glistening folds and he circles your clit. You writhe under his touch, your clit becoming overstimulated. Your toes curl and legs threaten to tense around his neck. You shut your eyes tight as the pressure builds and your mouth pops open. You let out a silent scream.
“You can barely speak, so cute,” Noah chuckles darkly as his rhythm becomes sporadic.
“Look at me, please.” Your eyes pop open to his command. “Eyes on me okay, mama?’
All you can muster is a nod as pleasure makes your mind hazy. Noah thrusts deeper hitting at the perfect spot, his fingers keeping the same rhythm on your sensitive bud. Your lashes flutter as your head tilts back slightly, but by some force, your eyes stay on Noah as your orgasm plows through you.
Noah’s release is not far behind yours as he exclaims “Fuck, I’m going to cum in you… and fill your womb,” he grunts releasing his life force into you.
Your walls clench around his throbbing cock as you milk every drop from him. “God you are perfect,” Noah says as he pulls from you. “You are going to look so cute when you get pregnant,” Noah sighs and pecks little kisses on your tummy and stretch marks.
When Noah pulls away you start to get up from the bed. “Stay,” Noah implores with a smile.
You meet his dazzling grin with your own. “Okay.” You love it when he takes care of you.
Noah places a chaste kiss on your cheek before dashing to the bathroom to get a towel to clean you up. Noah climbs into bed and under the covers. He wraps his arm around you and pulls you into him. He kisses your hair and for a few heartbeats, you both remain still enjoying calm and closeness.

You’d both gone to bed hours ago, and when you were certain Noah was asleep, you carefully untangled yourself from his arms and slipped out of bed.
“Where are you going?” His drowsy voice reaches your ears through the darkness.
You squeeze your eyes closed and scrunch up your face with your back to him; you were so sure he was asleep. “I can feel a headache coming on. I’m just going to get the meds I left in your car,” you lie, turning around to face him. “I’ll be quick,” you lean down to press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“M’kay,” he mumbles, rubbing your back as his eyes drift closed again.
You head out of your shared room to the front door, grabbing his keys on the way. Thankfully, he seemed to believe your little white lie. Going straight for the trunk of the car when you step outside, you hope the flowers you'd stashed in there all day hadn't wilted to death. Inspecting them under the light of the car, they did look a little sad, but you were sure some water and sunlight could save them.
Cradling the flowers, card, and little gift box in your arms carefully, you enter back into the house, cautious not to let the paper wrapping on the flowers crinkle too loud. You go to the kitchen and take out the vase you'd washed and stashed away earlier, filling it with a little water for the flowers to revive in. Setting it all up nicely on the counter—the card resting against the vase and the little box, wrapped in silver paper sitting in front.
Noah told you not to get him anything, but you weren't about to let that slide. He might not be big on birthdays, but you wanted nothing more than an excuse to shower him with love, and knowing he'd likely be up tomorrow before you, he'd find your little surprise first thing when he goes into the kitchen. You take a glass from the cupboard, fill it halfway with water, and take it with you as evidence of your little deception.
"All good?" He asks when you tiptoe back into your room.
"Yeah, all good." You set the glass down on the side and crawl back under the sheets with him, where he instinctively pulls you close into his side, the warmth of his body banishing the chill from yours.
The dip in the mattress wakes you a few hours later, followed by Noah’s lips ghosting softly over yours. With a sleepy groan, your hands instinctively move to his shoulders, where he’s hovering over you.
“I love you so fucking much,” he whispers.
For a moment you’re confused about the sudden show of affection until you crack your eyes open against the glow of the morning to see him holding his card and gift, the latter still unopened. “You haven’t even opened it yet,” you smile when he rests his forehead against yours.
“The card would’ve been enough,” he kisses you again. When he pulls back, you see his eyes are rimmed red, like he’d been crying. “What you wrote was so beautiful. I just- I’ve never felt so loved before. I’ve never loved anyone like you before.”
Now he’s going to make you cry. You encircle his shoulders with your arms, pulling him down on top of you and holding him close, so tight as though you could transfer all of the love you feel for him from your body to his. He rests his head in the crook of your neck, his arm securely around your waist, and you lie there together while the sun rises higher in the sky and the birds fill the air with song.
“C’mon,” you pat his back after a few minutes, “you need to open your present!”
He squeezes you just a little tighter before he plants a kiss against your shoulder and lets go. He sits up, and you follow, crossing your legs and snuggling into the duvet to hide from the cold October air.
Noah looks down at the little box in his hands, then looks at you, his expression saying, “Are you serious? I told you not to get me anything.” You nod encouragingly, and he finally tears off the tape from the metallic silver paper to reveal the little black box inside. He looks up at you again, quizzically.
“If you want to know what it is, just open it! Don’t look at me!” You kick him playfully from beneath the sheets. He laughs and shakes his head, pulling the lid from the base and finally revealing the gift you agonised over for months inside. You sneak a hand out of the sheets to bite at your nail, suddenly questioning your choice. What if he didn’t like it? He was right; you shouldn’t have gotten him anything. You should’ve just stuck with the card. Now he’s going to have to pretend he likes it to not hurt your feelings.
But when he takes it out of the box and sighs your name, your anxieties vanish as quickly as they arrived. “It’s the date we met,” he says quietly.
“Yeah,” you reply just as quietly, slipping out of the sheets to sit by his side, your legs folded beneath you. “I stole your other bracelet to get the right size, so I hope it fits.”
“Oh, so it didn’t fall down the back of the dresser?” He teases, raising an eyebrow at you.
“It might have fallen into my bag and all the way to the jewellers.”
“Will you put it on for me?” He asks, looking at you with those big brown eyes that make you melt every time.
You nod and take the silver chain from his hand. He holds out his right arm for you to loop the bracelet around, positioning the bar—engraved with the day you first met—on the top. Once it’s secure, he takes your arms and pulls you into him, onto his lap, where he wraps his arms around your waist to snuggle close into your shoulder and mumbles, “I love you.”
“Do you like it?” You ask, tenderly running your fingers through his hair.
“Are you kidding?” He pulls back to meet your eyes. “I love it. I love you. I never cared for my birthday until I met you,” he brushes your sleep-tousled hair away from your face, tucking it behind your ear. “Now each birthday reminds me of how grateful I am that we get to spend another year together.”
You feel a blush creeping up on your cheeks, warming your face. “I love you too,” you smile and lean in to meet his lips. A soft and gentle kiss, full of love and adoration for the man that chose you that day and still continues to choose you.
“Do you want your cake?” You ask with a teasing smile when you pull back, raising your eyebrows.
Noah blinks in surprise. “My what?”
“Come on!” Your grin spreads wide across your face as you slide off his knee and drag him up with you by his hands, holding them all the way to the kitchen.
You let go when you reach the fridge, throwing open the door and scooping out the contents and tossing them on the counter: tomato ketchup, chicken, veggies, miscellaneous sauces, leftovers.
“What are you doing?” Noah chuckles.
“I hid it in the back yesterday. I can’t believe you didn’t see it... AHA!” You declare when you finally reach the white box. You turn to place it on the counter only to find there’s little to no room left.
“No wonder I didn’t find it. You totally buried it back there!”
“It was a surprise!” You banter back.
Noah just laughs and shakes his head, taking several items in hand and placing them back in the fridge to clear a space for you. Leaving the cake box on the counter, you take the candles from their hiding spot inside a mug in the cupboard and dig the matches out of the drawer. When Noah was putting the last items back in the fridge you ordered, “Stay there! Don’t turn around!” He throws his hands up in surrender and stays facing the fridge.
You quickly lift the lid to reveal the funfetti cake decorated with white icing and fresh fruit on top. You consider placing exactly twenty-nine candles, one for every year of his age, but decide against it and add five instead. Lighting them quickly before they get the chance to drip wax onto the frosting. “Don’t move!” You yell, crossing the room to hit the light switch.
“I’m not!”
“Okay,” you sigh, taking the cake in your hands. “Okay, you can turn around now.”
The candles, though small, illuminate the room in a warm, comforting glow, the light of the morning blocked by the still-drawn shades. While the fire warmed you on the outside, the intimate nature of the scene warmed you on the inside. You sing as soon as Noah turns around, and a smile erupts across his face, reaching his eyes, making them crease at the corners, and making his cheeks look full.
“Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Noah, Happy Birthday to you!” He moves closer to close the gap between the two of you. “Come on, make a wish!” You hold up the cake higher as the candles melt.
Noah places his hands over yours where they hold the cake and, with one quick breath, blows out all the candles in one go. “I don’t need to make a wish. All my wishes already came true when I found you.” His eyes meet yours in the dim light, and you put the cake back down to fall into his chest, your arms secure around his waist. “Thank you for this,” he whispers, resting his cheek against your head.
“You’re welcome,” your voice muffled against his hoodie. “You deserve to be celebrated. It’s your day.”
Noah sighs and squeezes his arms around you tighter, swaying you both gently side to side. In his arms has to be your favourite place to be. The place that never fails to banish your worries and anxieties, you hope to remain here for as long as time will allow.
“Do you want a slice?” You mumble against his chest.
“Of cake? For breakfast?”
“Yes!” You exclaim like it was obvious, looking up at his face.
“We can’t have cake for breakfast,” he scolds, holding you close by the hips.
“It’s your birthday! We can do whatever we want,” you turn, dip your finger in the frosting and smear it on his nose, then wrap your arms around the back of his neck.
He gasps and laughs, full and carefree. He always works so hard and weighs himself down with self-created expectations. To see him now, relaxed and accepting of the love he deserves, especially on his birthday of all days, a day he’s so adamant about not celebrating, warms your heart and brings a smile to your own face. He deserves to be celebrated, and you wish you could get that into his head.
“You know what? You’re right,” Noah dips his finger in the frosting and smears it on the tip of your own nose. “I’ll get some plates,” he leans down to meet your lips in a sweet, chaste kiss.
You laugh in disbelief, then shake your head and get a knife from the drawer, wiping off the frosting and licking it off your finger. “Mm, it’s good!” You look over your shoulder where Noah has two forks and two plates from the cupboard, frosting gone from his own nose and a pleased expression on his face. He nods in agreement and sets down the plates. “How big of a slice do you want?” You ask.
“Hm, maybe just a little piece. Then we can have real breakfast after,” he snakes his arms around your waist as you make the first cut, clinging to your back.
“This is real breakfast,” you retort, lifting the cake carefully with the knife and placing it on a plate, then cutting a piece for yourself. “It has fruit on it.”
“You’re right, that makes it a health food,” he jokes, taking a bite-sized piece on his fork.
“Exactly,” you nod, doing the same.
The cake was amazing, thankfully. You were worried about the flavour, having never bought a birthday cake for Noah before. He wasn’t the type to frequently eat cake, which left you stumped in the store when the staff asked what flavour you wanted. Her suggestion seemed to be a success though, judging by Noah’s pleased hums behind you and the way he was forking down another bite.
“I love the flowers, by the way. They’re beautiful,” he mumbles, mouth full of cake and a smile on his lips.
You glance over to the vase at the end of the counter; the bright colours of the petals thankfully revived after suffocating in the trunk of his car all day. “Good, I’m glad. You deserve beautiful things.”
“Not as beautiful as you, though,” he leans to the side and wipes frosting from the corner of your mouth with his thumb before leaning in to place a quick peck on your cheek. You roll your eyes at the compliment, fighting to suppress the flustered smile it brought to your face.
Cake devoured, you lounge on the couch together, putting on the local weather to see what activities the day would allow. Noah brought the flowers with him, placing them in the centre of the coffee table right in his line of sight, with the card you wrote standing in front of them.
Noah,
Happy Birthday, my love!
You’ve worked so hard this year, and it has been nothing short of a pleasure to watch you grow and achieve everything you aimed for, and more. I know it hasn’t all been easy, but your perseverance and drive to be the best version of you that you can be inspire me every single day. Even on days where we’ve struggled, you never let it get in the way of what’s most important.
I love you so much, I don’t even think I can put it into words. It’s an honour to listen to your beautiful voice and watch you create every day, and I feel so lucky to be a part of your life and have you be a part of mine.
Thank you for being here for me through everything I’ve been through this past year, even when I felt like I didn’t deserve it. You keep me sane when I’m overwhelmed and feel like I’m losing my mind from stress, and I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am for your love, support, and presence by my side. You mean the world to me.
I look forward to seeing what the next year together brings us, what you achieve next, and what our lives will be like in a year's time.
Thank you for always being my light in the dark and for continuing to love me.
I love you, and I hope you have a good birthday. ♡

best friend!noah blurb
Tumblr media
because this popped into my mind and had to write it downnnnn. 🫠 cw: smoking and blowing
it was all innocent at first, a fun time between me and my best friend noah.
we were watching our favorite movie together, laughing and quoting lines we can dream by now, and enthusiastically lean more forward the screen when our favorite scenes finally started to play, eyes glinstering with joy as we watched each other have so much fun with it. joy because we felt so at ease, so happy and comfortable around each other. truly best friends being best friends.
then, we each started lighting a cigarette, still innocent, still something we would normally do at some point. blowing the smoke out and sometimes choke on it when we bursted out of laughter again.
it started to become less innocent when noah said, “you know, how about we make this even more fun.” a mischievous grin lit his face.
i cocked a brow, curious what he had in mind. when he pulled out two joints out of the pocket of his jeans, my eyes widened—with the same kind of mischief and satisfaction. maybe once before i have shared a blunt with him, but that was years ago, and all very vague. oh and, i wasn’t really experienced in it yet.
i smirked, and answered, “go ahead and light them.”
then, half an hour later, things began getting even less innocent. we were rolling on the floor laughing, about the absolute dumbest shit, noah placing one of his tattooed hands on his stomach shaking with hard laughter coming out, joint in his other hand.
“fuck, noah,” i breathed between laughter, my eyes wrinkled from laughter, “you need to shut up quoting the movie with that silly ass voice before i’m gonna pee my pants or something.”
noah cackled, expression on his face amused and also cocky. he loved it when he could make me laugh harder than anyone else—both sober and high. “hm yeah? if only you could make me shut up, hm?”
i narrowed my eyes at him. “what do you mean if only?”
he shrugged with again that mischievous, yet daring glint in his dark brown eyes, rolling on his side on the floor we were still laying on to face me better, a smirk tugged at his lips. “dunno if you’d dare to do it.”
my heartbeat began to risen without even exactly knowing what he meant at first. “why not?”
noah’s amused and now even sly grin grew bigger, his face now a little closer to mine, making me flush uncontrollably. all the pretty details of his face were much more clear to see for my own lighter eyes now.
“it’s quite intimate, actually.”
oh. my heart stood still for a moment, and the innocence between us and the room dropped even more, being replaced with sudden heat and tension.
his grin grew even bigger than it already was when he saw the shocked yet flustered expression in my face, making wrinkles around the corners of his eyes, a pretty and attractive sight, the confidence at his side clear and intense.
the already dark color of his eyes darkened even more, flickering down to my lips for a moment and then back to my face. i could feel my hammering heart in my neck at this point. but damn, it was too hard to resist—the thought of shutting him the fuck up by kissing his pretty lips was way too tempting not to give in.
so i leaned in, breathing way more shaky and quick than before, feeling his own warm one fanning on my heated face. i licked my lips before then harshly crashing them against his own, as i was not able to make it gentle and sweet at this point, the need for him rushing through every inch of my trembling body.
noah groaned into my mouth, which made my cheeks even more flushed, and i placed my hand in the nape of his neck, pulling him even closer against me, feeling the softness of his long hair underneath my fingertips. our kiss was heated, messy and greedy, and noah pulled me on top of him in no time.
that was when all the innocence between us completely disappeared and never came back, nor did we want to. he has been my best friend for years, but god, i have wanted this a little too much.
“fuck,” noah breathes between our make out session, “you’re just so eager, hm?”
a breathless laugh escapes me, and i grin against his lips. “you asked for it.”
he grins just as widely back. “and i’m so glad i did baby—because i wanted you on top of me like this for way too long.”

The flight to Australia was going to be long. You both knew this. But you still weren’t prepared for how long it would feel.
From the moment you exited the Uber at the airport, you were both filled with anxiety.
Your hands were interlinked, squeezing impossibly tight as you entered the huge building.
Both you and Noah were anxious around flying, but Noah was most noticeably the more nervous between the two of you.
He has been silent since exiting the Uber, only replying with nods here and there with his eyes trained onto the ground.
After years of flying as part of touring, you would think that Noah had become accustomed to it, but he never did. Granted, he was able to manage his anxiety surrounding it better as the years went on, but the fear never went away.
He was practically shaking by the time you both found your seats.
Noah clutched the arm rest with a white knuckle grip as if he were relying on it like some kind of life line.
You simply took his hand in your own and allowed him to squeeze it, whispering "I've got you." as he took hold of your much smaller hand.
Those words seemed to calm him down as his grip loosened ever so slightly.
"Close your eyes honey I'm right here. You're safe." You spoke softly. Noah obeyed and squeezed his eyes shut, breathing in through his nose for seven seconds and out for eleven, like his therapist had taught him.
Once the plane levelled out, Noah seemed to calm down, releasing your hand to select a movie to watch.
He selected Pride and Prejudice, which was most definitely Noah's usual genre, but he claimed that he wanted to try it.
He ended up changing it about twenty minutes in claiming that it was taking too long for anything to happen, and changed it for some random action movie that the airline was offering.
Noah's anxiety visibly lessened as the flight progressed, with him spending the final half with his head resting on your shoulder, fast asleep as he tried to cuddle into you despite the arm rest blocking his movements.
Seeing Noah so soft like this was your favourite.

You weren’t entirely sure how he talked you into this.
The club pulsed with low music and crimson lighting, bodies dressed in latex, leather, lace, and very little else. Every corner whispered sin. Your heels clicked softly on the polished floor, your hand clutching Noah’s tightly. He looked so at ease here, confident, sharp in all black. And you? You were wrapped in something soft, delicate, pink. You stood out like a rose in a garden of thorns.
And then there was the collar. Pale pink leather, slim, with a little gold heart dangling at the throat. The leash clipped to it matched perfectly. It had taken all of your courage just to let him fasten it around your neck once you’d entered the building and removed your coat.
“Breathe” Noah said smoothly, his voice calming your nerves. “You look beautiful.”
He tugged gently on the leash, guiding you through the crowd like it was the most normal thing in the world. You stayed close, a little overwhelmed but safe, you always felt safe with Noah and he had promised you he’d take care of everything and show you a whole different world.
You nodded, cheeks already flushed from the things you’d seen within thirty seconds of walking through the door. Someone was bound to a St. Andrew’s cross near the far wall, arms stretched wide. A woman knelt beside her dom in the corner, drinking from a crystal bowl. Soft moans echoed from behind sheer curtains.
And yet you felt more curious than scared.
He led you deeper into the club, the leash resting loose in his hand as you walked beside him. Every so often he stopped, letting you look, taking you past stations with ropes, impact benches, cages, swings and so many other toys that you couldn’t even begin to try and name.
You looked around with innocent doe eyes, never having been exposed to anything of this nature before.
“Anything catch your eye?” he asked, voice low and amused when you lingered on all the new sights around you.
You felt your cheeks go warm as you shook your head and gave him a small smile.
“No rush” he said, pulling you gently to his side. “Tonight’s about you.”
He led you to a dimly lit booth tucked away behind mesh curtains, the thin material doing little to hide the shadows of other couples in their own little worlds. You could hear them, moans, gasps, the sharp crack of a whip, someone begging softly in the next booth over.
You froze a little but Noah wasn’t phased as he stepped inside and gave the leash a gentle tug, pulling you in after him.
Noah sat down and used the lead to pull you towards him and he had you sit beside him, you could still hear the moans of the people around you.
“Shy?” he murmured, lips brushing your ear. “You like the sounds, don’t you, angel? I can feel you shaking.”
“I…I don’t know…it’s just…a lot”
His hand slid up your thigh as he placed gentle kisses against your neck.
“It is. That’s why I’m here to guide you through it. Let them be background noise. Focus on me, you’re doing so well for me, baby. Wearing my leash, following my lead. You trust me, don’t you?”
You nodded, breath shaky. “Yes.”
“Good girl.”
His praise sent a pulse straight to your core.
Noah leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to your lips before his hands moved slowly and very deliberately up your thighs, bunching your dress around your hips.
“Spread them”
You obeyed instantly.
He groaned under his breath as he looked down at you, the leash still wrapped loosely around his wrist, fingers brushing over the damp heat between your legs.
“So wet already” he whispered. “You like being led around like this? Knowing people could see, could hear?”
Your cheeks burned but the ache between your legs was louder.
He leaned down and kissed your inner thigh, then again higher, slower as he moved your panties to the side.
“Let them listen,” he said, voice low and thick with hunger. “I want them to hear how pretty you sound when I make you cum”
The first swipe of his tongue was slow, torturously slow, as if he was tasting you for the first time.
You gasped, hips twitching, and his hands immediately pressed down on your thighs, keeping you open and right where he wanted you.
“That’s it” he murmured against your skin. “Stay still for me baby”
The soft wet sounds of his mouth on you mixed in with the distant moans and low groans echoing through the club. You could hear someone being spanked near by, another person whispered filthy praise a few feet away.
But Noah…Noah was completely zoned in on you and your pleasure, all while the leash stayed taut in his grip, his constant reminder that he was in control and you were his to train.
His mouth worked you up with expert ease, licking, sucking, dragging you toward the edge with every stroke. He alternated between slow, teasing flicks and deep, hungry licks, eyes occasionally flicking up to watch your face as he ate you out like a man starved.
You were panting and groaning now, you struggled to hold it all in but his mouth felt so good that you didn’t care who could hear you.
Noah pulled his head up briefly, the lower half of his mouth glistening with your slick arousal in the dim lighting.
“Doing so good for me…so fucking sweet. Bet no one’s ever had you like this, have they?”
You shook your head, too overwhelmed to form words, and he groaned.
“I’m gonna ruin you for anyone else,” he muttered, dipping lower again, tongue circling your clit until your thighs trembled.
You felt his free hand that had been holding your thigh move lower and you felt his fingers slipping inside of you with ease, stroking your walls and stretching you out with a cry falling from your lips as your head fell back against the cushions.
It was too much, his mouth, his fingers, the pulling of the leash and the sinful sounds from all around you pushed you over the edge.
The tension inside you snapped all at once and you came hard around his tongue, he didn’t stop, didn’t even slow down, he kept going until your hips were shaking and your body slumped down as the first waves of overstimulation crept in.
When you finally came back down from your high gasping and trying to catch your breath, Noah rose up and kissed you softly, lips sticky with your own juices.
“Good girl” he whispered. “Took it so well.”
He gently adjusted your underwear and slipped your dress back down, unhooked the leash, and kissed the corner of your mouth.
“We’re not done” he said, brushing a knuckle over your cheek. “But that’s enough for tonight.”
You nodded, still dazed, as he pulled you into his lap and wrapped an arm around your waist, letting your breathing settle in the safety of his hold, his mouth at your temple, his voice soft in your ear.
“Next time you’ll beg me for more and it will be loud enough for the whole club to hear”

The wind was blowing so hard you could hear it. You pressed your arms against your body, trying your best to close your coat around you. The leafless trees danced under the light of the streetlamps. A few small piles of snow piled up on the damp sidewalks, reflecting the brightness of the shop windows decorated with red hearts and shiny letters. The distant sound of laughter and conversations between couples walking by created a cozy backdrop, contrasting with your loneliness as you walked. Valentine's Day had never been a special day for you, it was just another one when the world around you was immersed in hearts and flowers. As you walked to the café on the corner, the one you always went to when you felt lonely, your thoughts were occupied with the upcoming exhibition you were organizing for the local gallery. It was the only thing that still kept you distracted from it all.
The sound of music in the distance caught your attention. You frowned in disapproval as you recognized the melody of the famous song by the band you avoided listening to so much. More specifically, the lead singer you'd rather forget: Noah.
Noah had always been a constant presence in your life, but not always for the best reasons. Ever since high school, your lives seemed intertwined by an inexplicable rivalry. He was the kind of person who always made a point of annoying you, as if he knew exactly where every single one of your vulnerabilities was. How could someone who hated you so much get to know you so well? And to make things worse, he did it with pleasure, always with a smile on his face that at the time you could die for, but you would never tell anyone that you found it attractive.
The music in the distance brought back memories. The fierce competitions to be the best student in the class, the discussions about who was the most creative in the projects, the challenging looks you exchanged every chance you got. Noah always found a way to unsettle you, with his unfunny jokes and constant teasing. He knew exactly how to make you angry.
“Do you really think you can beat me?” Noah scoffed after one of the many competitions you’ve entered.
“At least I make an effort, unlike you who only rely on your own cheap charm,” you retorted, with sparks in your eyes.
“Charm? I didn’t know you noticed,” he replied with that mischievous smile that only pissed you off even more.
Inside the café, the warmth and the scents welcomed you. You took off your coat and sat down by the window, opening your computer to revise a few things. You were so immersed in your work that you almost didn't notice when a man entered the café, shaking the snow out of his hair and heading for the counter. He looked different from what you remembered, maybe more mature, but still with that carefree air that irritated you so much. You blinked a few times until you believed it was none other than Noah.
“I can’t believe it.” His voice brought you back to reality.
You looked up, forcing a polite smile. “Noah.”
“You here? I swear I didn’t expect to see you.” He smiled, and you had to fight the urge to roll your eyes.
“I’m working. What about you?”
“Show. We're in town. It looks like the band is still following you,” he joked, and you let out a sigh.
“Unfortunately, it seems so.” You turned your attention back to the screen, trying to put an end to the conversation.
But Noah wasn't the type of person to be ignored so easily. He ordered a coffee and sat down at your table, facing you. “Why are you always so serious? Isn't it Valentine's Day? You should be having fun.”
“And what about you? Where's your romantic day?” you replied, raising an eyebrow.
“I don't have one. My passion is music, remember?” He shrugged, taking a sip of coffee.
“Of course. How could I forget?” you replied, with a touch of sarcasm. “You play everywhere.”
“You always notice, then” he laughed, making you roll your eyes. “But what about you, still organizing those art exhibitions?” Noah asked, trying to strike up a conversation.
“Yes, that's my job,” you replied as dryly as you could, turning your eyes back to your laptop.
“You know, you really take all this seriously. Haven't you ever thought about relaxing a bit?” he teased.
You sighed and closed your laptop with an audible click. “Noah, why do you always feel the need to tease me?”
“Because it's fun to see you get angry,” he replied with a mischievous grin. “But maybe I also like to see you a little out of your comfort zone.”
“You don't change, do you? Always the same Noah, eager to be the center of attention,” you retorted, crossing your arms.
“And you, always so focused, so determined,” he said softly. “Maybe that's what I admire about you.”
You couldn't help but be surprised by the honesty in his voice. “Admire? You?”
“Yes. As much as we fight, I've always admired your passion for what you do. We're artists, we can't deny that we're passionate, and I admire that in you. Even if I don't say it often,” Noah admitted, looking directly into your eyes.
You felt disconcerted. You weren't used to this vulnerable version of Noah, let alone a compliment from him, or the way you felt, unable to arm yourself for a response. You looked away, trying to process what he had said.
“Well, thanks, I guess,” you mumbled, not knowing what to say.
Noah smiled, realizing that he had managed to disarm you. “Who knows, maybe we should try being friends for once?”
You arched an eyebrow, still skeptical. “Friends? I don't know if we're ready for that.”
“Maybe not now, but who knows in the future?” Noah replied, getting up to leave. “Anyway, it was good to see you. Good luck with the new exhibition.”
“Thank you, Noah. Good luck with your presentation,” you replied, watching as Noah left the café.
(...)
In the following days, you tried to concentrate on your work, but the conversation with Noah kept going through your head. He seemed different, more sincere, more vulnerable. It made you uneasy.
On the opening night of the exhibition, you were nervous. The lights in the gallery shone brightly, reflecting the meticulously selected paintings and sculptures. You ran your eyes over everything, as if there were still some detail or other that might have gone unnoticed, in an attempt to suppress your nervousness.
“It's perfect,” Noah's voice sounded next to you, soft and encouraging.
You turned to him, surprised to see him there. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to support you. We're artists, I know how lonely today can be for you. I thought you might need a friend tonight,” he said with a warm smile.
You felt a genuine wave of gratitude at that moment, making you smile back. “Thank you, Noah. It means a lot to me.”
“Can I ask you something?” Noah hesitated, as if choosing every word he was going to say.
“Of course,” you replied, curious.
“Why have you always hated me so much?” The question was direct, but there was a vulnerability in his voice that made you feel your stomach lurch.
You took a deep breath, staring at him. “It was never hate, Noah. I think it was... fear. Fear of how you made me feel. You were always so free, so confident, and I didn't know how to deal with it.”
“Fear?” Noah asked, surprised. “I never wanted to scare you. I always thought you hated me because well... I've always been a jerk to you.”
You laughed softly, despite your serious look. “And you were. But I was also a bit stubborn and proud. The two of us were always competing, always trying to prove I don't know what to I don't know who. Maybe we were actually trying to hide what we really felt.”
“And what did we really feel?” Noah asked in a soft tone, but full of curiosity.
You sighed, your gaze fixed on his eyes. “I think we were afraid of getting hurt. It was easier to fight than to admit that maybe there was something more. Something we didn't know how to deal with.”
“I won't deny it, I always felt there was something more,” Noah admitted. “But I didn't know how to tell you. Every time I tried, we ended up fighting. And then I thought, maybe it's better this way. Less complicated.”
“Less complicated, more painful,” you replied, your voice trembling slightly. “As time went by, I kept thinking about all the things I wish I'd told you, but never did. There was always a barrier between us, something we never knew how to cross.”
Noah took a step closer, gently holding your hand. You didn't remember, but that was probably the first time you touched each other, and it gave you goosebumps. “I always felt that there was something big between us. Maybe it's too late, but I think I'd still like to explore it with you.”
You felt your heart soar at his words. “Noah, I feel it too. I think I want to stop running away.”
He smiled, gently pulling you closer. “So, what do you say about starting now? My name is Noah and I sing in a band.” He smiled, holding out his hand to shake yours.
You giggled, feeling your face heat up. You smiled back, your eyes shining with the chance of a new hope, feeling that the truce between you could last forever.
