Jason travels to an alternate universe where Bruce only cares about being Batman. He took in each of his kids to serve the mission, not be his children.

Now, faced with alternate versions of his family, Jason has to grapple with the fact that his Bruce does care, that he is his father. Because the man in front of him now, trying to send him home, isn’t even close.

#batman #jason todd #bruce wayne #redhood #batfam #batfamily #this bruce went one of two ways 1) running his kids into the ground and they’re basically unrecognizable to jason or 2) worked them so hard #they couldn’t take it and left the business entirely and he’s completely alone except the JL which doesn’t like him but he is necessary #sure crime is down but bruce’s crusade is just that an actual crusade because he treats his sons like soldiers and everything comes second #to the mission. i don’t even know if damian exists in this universe because the idea of bruce having romantic relationships is laughable #although here he might be more closely aligned to talia because they’re both mission oriented and having a legal heir for their literal #legacy might appeal to him idk. just that jason shows up and it’s like his brothers have military ranks instead of names. none of them have #real jobs or even friends because they eat sleep work live at the manor and would never leave the batcave if it weren’t for public #appearances. it’s insane to see dick without his personality or tim who really does act like a robot and not a person. i don’t know if steph #cass and duke would stick around for this (or alfred for that matter i’m 50/50)#but when jason does get back everyone is shocked that he sticks around the cave and manor for a couple weeks checking in on everyone and #making the effort to do things unrelated to mask business. he has to write a report about the incident and he struggles to even put into #words how wrong it felt. his arguments with bruce also skew slightly because he can’t claim bruce doesn’t care in general just that he #doesn’t care about him or express it enough or in the right way. a far cry from the usual spiel and bruce is concerned so they talk it out

I still haven't figured out HOW exactly they'll meet yet, but I do think that Ford would ATTACH himself to Stanley and talk his ears off forever when they eventually get comfortable :] and Stanley would listen because HOLY SHIT, THAT'S HIS BRO HE HASN'T SEEN FOR 40-ISH YEARS, HE MISSED HIS VOICE. Stanley looks dead faced because of his ingrained poker face, but he's thouroughly enjoying it, even if sometimes he has no idea what the fuck Ford is saying. He never interrupts him though, since he knows people usually ignore or interrupt him mid-talk already. So sometimes Stan gets stuck in awkward situations where he has to leave or do stuff, but also doesn't have it in his heart to stop Ford and extract himself out of a (one-sided) conversation.

#Stanley: that motherfucker just ignored you completely- would you like me to kill him.#Stanford: Who? What are you talking about? Anyways. Have you ever seen gnomes before? Because just yesterday I-#I imagine conversations with Stanford to be very stitled and all over the place.#Since his thoughts are quite literally scattered- he can never really process them fast enough to actually verbalize them.#Or even understand them.#So he often only catch the tail ends of a thought- or cutoff half formed thoughts- or only the beginning half of an idea- memory- or opinio #And when he talks- you can really tell with the amount of tangents he goes off into and how everything he says #are completely disconnected and unrelated from one another.#I think the reason he talks so much is because it's his way of desperately trying to get himself understood by someone- including himself.#He's hoping that maybe- by verbalizing EVERYTHING in his mind all at once into some incomprehensible word vomit- that someday-#those senseless- useless words will one day magically order themselves into the right sentence for him to be finally be able to say what #he actually MEANS.#But because he's ''that crazy Town Kook Ford'' he just never really gets the chance to talk to anyone.#People in town baby him- treat him like a child.#And I mean- it must really hurt. Finished the game couple of days ago and had some thoughts I needed to process a little. Like. Yes.

So anyway I actually didn't plan this and just wanted to redraw some sprites to just make sure I understand how to draw Siffrin correctly (still working on that!)

What did I learn from this? How fun it it to draw on a canvas that literally doesn't let you draw with colors without some layer cheating when necessary. Never tried it.

The beans. Sleeping beans.

Basically what happens when you want to sleep AND draw. Draw characters sleeping on your behalf.

Doesn't help, but at least it's cute.

I have no idea what was going on in my mind as I drew this. Feels like a fever dream of 'I want to sleep' at 4 am and 'Hm...' of thinking random things

Also that phone craft sign. Still too funny to imagine. I had to.

Books are now available in my store. Thank you all so much for the support, this was probably the biggest thing I've done in my life so far. It's 535 books of which half were already sold via crowdfunding. Each comes signed and numbered. I also have a few leftover prints from crowdfunding, as I ordered more for safety's sake. Those are also available as bundle, for a very small quantity.
