on friday I decided I wanted to make better luggage bags for my wheelchair in time for my trip today (monday), so I spent the weekend in a frenzy and created these
lots more pics and info under the cut!
until now I've been using an off-the-rack under seat bag at the front (smaller than necessary, awkward to use) and random shopping bags bungeed to the axle at the back (impossible to add/remove items without taking them off and unpacking them entirely, not much volume for all that effort).
here's my old setup for comparison (although I can still add the backpack with the new setup too):
the old front bag attached by wrapping all the way over the seat, which made it difficult to remove. it was also unnecessarily small - there was a lot of wasted spare space behind and either side of it.
I measured up for a replacement to properly fill the available space. It's a simple but irregular cuboid - the top edge slopes slightly (because the seat slopes), and the top is narrower than the bottom (becase the frame is in the way at the top).
I designed mine to attach directly to the frame, rather than around the seat. at the back there are short straps with side-release buckles to wrap around a conveniently-placed bar on the frame. at the front are more side-release buckles, attached to make use of the buckles that were installed on the chair by the manufacturer (intended to attach a much smaller under seat bag).
the old bag just had one big compartment inside, so there was no easy way to keep small items accessible without them getting lost among everything else. so I added pockets to mine!
at the top, I made a panel the whole size of the top face, and attached it at a slight diagonal to make a shallow sloping pocket. I also added big flat patch pockets to both sides. and I added a piece of really thick cardboard as a base shaper so it wouldn't sag when full of stuff.
the rear bag was a lot more complicated. I didn't have an existing bag for this use at all, I'd been getting by with just bungeeing soft bags onto whatever bars I could reach on the frame.
I took a bunch of measurements and planned out my design. to make the best use of the space, it needed to wrap *around* the axle both above and below. so the end result is a slightly irregular cuboid but with a cutout at one side.
just above the axle cutout, there are short straps which clip around side bars on the frame to keep it in place. at the other end there are longer straps which buckle around the horizontal bar on the seat backrest, to hold it up.
I didn't add any pockets to this bag, because it's basically for luggage so I won't need to get at small things while it's still attached. more board in the bottom to keep the base in shape.
I would have used a double-ended zip for this one too but I couldn't get one in time (might replace it later). I'm also wondering about adding a shelf or something, to make it easier to squeeze things into the little above-axle space without falling back out.
on both bags I added a strip of old woven belt along the inside top of the opening, to help it keep its shape when the zip is undone.
I don't know enough sewing vocabulary to describe the kind of seam I used on them, but- I folded the edges in, right-sides together, and then topstitched over them. just one line of stitching per seam, but that line goes through each piece of fabric twice. raw edges still exposed on the inside.
I successfully took the new bags on a 4.5-hour train journey today, packed with a week's worth of luggage. and when I arrived, all I had to do was clip them off the chair and lay them on their backs, and then they can easily unzip like suitcases!

Lighten up!
Embrace each moment with a heart unburdened by the past and a spirit untethered by fears of the future.
Let's make the most of what is today.
Learnings for me:
1. Coloured side light reflecting off you give you a colourful canvas.
2. Eye-liner is difficult, but the results are worth it.
3. Bracer bust shapers on top of your existing push-ups are a key to get some volume up there
Let me know if you like this pic? If yes, more in this dress will follow

EKO - Multitone + EKO Crescendo volume pedal
Strepitoso: Wah Wah Treble/Bass Booster: Tone Shaper Distortion: '60s Sounding Fuzz Repeat Percussion: Unique Sounding Tremolo
"
Apparently it's the firt multi-effect ever. It has Wah (called Strepitoso in italian), Treble/Bass Booster, Distortion and Repeat (percussion tremolo). So I traced the 4 different circuits, you can find attached the schematics and some pics. FS33805 are npn BJT with 1:C 2:B 3:E pinout. I tested one and hfe was 216. BC208 is apparently an equivalent and if i'm not mistaken 2n3904 could do the job. 4JD5E44 is a UJT (maybe equivalent to 2n2646 ?)"

9 for minerva please!
9. a future historian’s account of your oc’s actions
The Hero of Ferelden was never captive in a Circle of Magi. A reasoned study of the sources cannot suggest this. She was not Fereldan at all; she was Tevinter, and she studied in her native land.
Various sources—paintings, letters, and most famously the writings of the fugitive Tevinter spirit warrior, Fenris—make reference to Surana as Tevinter. The assumption that she was nonetheless a Fereldan Circle mage, perhaps of Tevinter parentage, is often drawn from the popular chronicles of the Fifth Blight that depict Surana as only taking her Joining on the eve of battle at Ostagar. Had she originated from further afield than Kinloch Hold, how could this have been? But the entire incident is a fiction, drawn from the writings of an Orlesian bard, the same companion of Surana’s sometimes amusingly identified with Divine Victoria. There is no reason to believe that Surana was so young at the time or so newly Joined. The Warden-Commander of Ferelden who fell at Ostagar had Tevinter heritage himself, and was by all accounts a pragmatist more likely to look to his own people’s powerful mages than a freshly Harrowed local. Considering the stigma against Tevinter, it is hardly surprising the Grey Wardens, already controversial in Ferelden at the time, would be hesitant to publicise this background.
While we are not as confident as the Shaperate that she was so crucial to the ending of the Fifth Blight that it could not have been vanquished without her, Surana was undoubtedly one of the most powerful mages ever to walk Thedas. Contemporary historical sources so loosely accuse mages of blood magic that to call her a “maleficar”, to borrow an outdated term, is almost pointless, though her closest ally’s templar background and the public nature of her role make this unlikely. Nonetheless, many of her recorded magical feats—the display at the fifteenth anniversary of King Alistair and Queen Anora’s coronation, the Shaperate’s records of the mighty tempests in the Deep Roads, and in the end the pillar of fire brought against Fen’harel on the fields of Minrathous—have never been fully recreated by a single mage even today.
Could Ferelden’s Circle of Magi, cowed by the Chantry and noted primarily for its spirit healers, have produced such an extraordinary elementalist? Or such a tactician, or such a diplomat? It is beyond belief.

DEVIZE VOGUE MESH (engrish generally Borg)
shaper up
3 piece mesh
Shaper mesh is popular for its sharpness.
Introducing an updated version!
his name is Vogue
Did you know that the design of mesh wheels is derived from wire spokes? At a time when the level of technology was low, wire spokes were almost the only structure that could achieve both strength and lightness, and they were even used on racetracks. Come to think of it, the rough mesh design was also born from competition use, and it seems that the mesh and the circuit are inextricably linked.
However, for some reason, a sedan with mesh wheels gives off an atmosphere of elegance and luxury. Just as when you look at a classic car, even if it's a perfect racing car, you get a sense of its elegant beauty, so the mesh wheels themselves may have that mysterious magical power. . Therefore, wheel manufacturers are releasing many mesh wheels that are designed to be gorgeous and elegant.
This Devise Vogue Mesh" is one such wheel. Shaper, a one-piece model that is popular for its reverse mesh.
This is an updated version of the mesh wheel. By inheriting the basic design of the shaper mesh and making it into three pieces, we were able to change the previous clean form to a sense of extrusion that rivals the volume of a sedan. If you think about it this way, it might be better to think of it as an evolution, a model that has evolved normally, rather than an upgrade.
Now, this Vogue mesh has a basic structure of 3 pieces forged. Among them, the rim is a record-breaking super diamond cut rim.
Ensures strength and lightness. Of course, the shine is brilliant. There are four color variations for the disc that is combined with the rim: full plating, plating & white, plating & gunmetal, and silver. If you want to show off a sharp mesh style, we recommend plating and gunmetal, and if you're aiming for a neo-European look, full plating would be perfect. If you want a gorgeous VIP finish, choose the option
of gold piercing bolts
You can't go wrong with the set.
Used because of its excellent design.
The expression that changes depending on how you wear it is easy
Shut it down.
The above prices are for plated discs and gold pierce bolts. Standard silver is 7,000 yen cheaper, plated & white plated & gunmetal is 3,000 yen higher, and without gold earring bolt is 3,000 yen cheaper.
Message from the manufacturer
By making it 3 pieces, it became more suitable for sedans
The one-piece shaper mesh is a simple and elegant wheel, but the Borg mesh is made into three pieces to give it an even more high-society feel. The basic styling is inherited from the shaper mesh, but the rim finish and color variations are more suited to sedans equipped with an impactful aero kit and lowered. I think it's perfect for Y32/33. Another feature is that the spokes are quite thin, so you can clearly see the brake system, giving a sense of the car's functional parts and driving.

Codex entry: Lyrium
“Lyrium is the king of metals. Beneath our feet, it sings. When properly refined, it is a smooth, slightly iridescent, silvery liquid. In the hands of the dwarven Smith Caste, it is mixed with steel to produce indestructible armor and blades that hold an edge for centuries. In the hands of the Shaperate, it becomes a repository for living memories. And some scholars maintain this as evidence that lyrium is, itself, alive.
It finds its most lucrative application in the hands of the Formari, who use it in conjuctionsic with baser metals like gold, silverite, veridium, or even iron to produce enchantments. Though mages, of course, consume it in a diluted form to bolster their abilities, this is not recommended. Overindulgence in lyrium can have disastrous consequences, particularly in more concentrated amounts. It is not advisable, for instance, that any reader handle raw lyrium, which in many cases can kill on contact.”
—An excerpt from An Alchemical Primer of Metallurgy: Volume One by Lord Cerastes of Marnas Pell.

Could you share your favorite hair mousse and/or hair spray?
We have similar wave patterns, but for the life of me I can’t find something that won’t weight the wave down OR leave my hair so crunchy and stiff that I can’t run my hands through it. I know that you prioritize softness of hair above all, and it’s a personal preference as well!
For everyday hairstyling, I don’t actually often use mousse—I’ve never managed to find one that doesn’t dry out my hair in some way, so I reserve it for styles that demand serious volume. Instead, I make sure that I’ve applied lots and lots of leave-in conditioner first, and then use a small amount of the Curl Defining Jelly from Kristen Ess on damp hair. I brush it through, blow dry on cool until I reach about 80% dry, and then style however I like. When I’m ready to go out, I scrunch out my waves with very lightly oiled hands, and mist over with Sebastian’s ‘Re-Shaper’ hairspray, which is the best I’ve found for soft, flexible hold that lasts all day (bonus: it smells like watermelon).
This routine is the best I’ve found for keeping my hair soft and bouncy throughout the day, and I can brush through it without a problem, but I will say that Alajos still doesn’t like it and thinks it makes my hair too stiff—so if I know I’m going to be spending time with him, I don’t bother with putting any products except leave-in and oil in my hair at all. Mind you, his sense of touch is much, much more finely-tuned than anyone I’ve ever known, and everyone else says that my hair is very soft even with product in, so I wouldn’t take his word as Gospel here.

The Ultimate Guide to Dressing for Your Body Shape
Fashion trends are ever evolving and meeting all the fashion standards is a vicious cycle. Even if you have the latest collection in your wardrobe, it does not guarantee a flattering look. This is primarily because the products are marketed as universal, however, the appearance of a piece of clothing is highly determined by your body shape. Thus, when shopping from a top online shopping site for women's clothing in India, be mindful of the cuts of the clothing, to make sure you dress to slay. Read along the blog to know more about the various ways to dress according to your body shape.
What to Wear According to Your Body Shape
Apple Body Shape (Oval Shape)
The apple body is characterized by a heavier upper body in comparison to your lower part. The shape features broad shoulders and a bigger bust line, gathering weight around the midriff. Now, as most of the weight gathers above the hips, the mid-riff appears heavier than the remaining body with a minimal waistline. Thus, wearing dresses with V, deep V, plunge V, and sweetheart necklines creates the illusion of an elongated torso. Use accessories to draw attention close to the face or legs.
A-line or empire cuts are ideal for apple body shape. Wear printed dresses or patterned jackets that add a layer to shift the focus. Monochrome looks, dark colors, full or 3/4th sleeve dresses, and flowy tops will also help. For the bottoms choose flared options such as palazzos, to create a balance. Also, go for bottoms with higher waistlines as this will give a more balanced and elongated look. Make sure that the pieces sit well on the right curves, so go for a bit of tailoring if required. The hourglass shape is good and can rock any look, but wearing a loose and oversized look would not be the right choice, as they will conceal the most desired curves.
Pear Body Shape (Triangle Shape)
The shape is distinguished by a well-defined lower body, with the butt and thighs visually bigger than the upper body. People with this body shape have comparatively narrower shoulders. The best part of this body type is that the right styling can help you create the illusion of an hourglass figure. You can also try body shaper for women, to get the hourglass figure with much ease.
Wide-legged pants, A-line skirts, or dresses with patterned or ruffled tops are great for creating a balanced look. The wide pants would draw attention away from the wide lower body and the ruffled tops would add up to the width of the upper body. Skinny jeans with loose tops help create an hourglass illusion. Crop tops, sweetheart, V or deep-V, padded jackets and tops, and scoop, or boat necks will balance the bottom. Avoid skin-fitting tops, halter necklines, and loose bottoms as these would accentuate the pear shape.
Banana Body Shape (Rectangle Shape)
The rectangle-shaped body is usually well-balanced from the shoulders to the hips. The arms and legs are the assets for the people with rectangle-shaped bodies. The body is like the hourglass figure minus the defined waistline. So, the dressing is all the more similar for both body shapes.
The best pieces of clothing for body shape include A-line skirts and ruffled and layered tops. The ideal cuts include sleeveless, strapless, and sweetheart lines. Blazers, long jackets, and capes can be used to add much-needed drama to the overall look. However, avoid wearing overarching dresses, as they would look very consuming and might not look great.
Inverted Triangle Body Shape
People with this body shape have an athletic-looking body with shoulders much broader than the hips. Thus, the key to dressing for this style is the enhancement of the arms and shoulders as much as possible. Also, wear clothes that add definition to your hips, giving you a more balanced look.
Straight-cut jeans and dresses naturally have an inverted V-look and thus would be the best for your body type. You can also add volume to your lower body using voluminous fabrics, light colors, details, and prints. You can also try pencil-cut skirts, skinny jeans, and other pieces of the kind to rock the look. Always avoid much layering to the upper body. V-neck lines work well and create an illusion of narrow shoulders, so these can be used to gain a more proportionate look.

Design Your Own Surfboard with Solid Surfboards
Are you a surf enthusiast looking to carve your way through the waves on a board that is truly unique? Designing your own surfboard is an exciting and rewarding process that allows you to create a board tailored to your specific style and needs. At Solid Surfboards, we believe in empowering surfers to bring their dream boards to life with custom designs and top-notch craftsmanship. Here’s how you can Design your own surfboard and make the most out of your surfing experience.
Why Go Custom?
Choosing a custom surfboard offers numerous advantages over off-the-rack options. Custom boards allow you to:
Tailor Fit and Performance: A custom board can be shaped to match your body size, skill level, and surfing style. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro, the right dimensions can significantly impact your performance.
Personalize Aesthetics: Express your personality through custom graphics, colors, and logos. Your board becomes an extension of your identity.
Optimize for Local Conditions: Design a board that suits the specific wave conditions of your local surf spot, whether it’s small beach breaks or powerful reef breaks.
The Design Process
1. Consultation
The journey begins with a consultation. At Solid Surfboards, we work closely with you to understand your needs, preferences, and surfing goals. This stage involves discussing your surfing background, the types of waves you typically surf, and any specific design ideas you have in mind.
2. Choosing the Shape
The shape of your surfboard is crucial for its performance. Here are some common shapes and their characteristics:
Shortboard: Ideal for high-performance surfing, offering maneuverability and speed.
Fish: Wider and shorter, perfect for smaller waves and providing extra buoyancy.
Longboard: Classic style, great for smooth, flowing rides and nose-riding.
Funboard: A hybrid design that balances performance and stability, suitable for all-around surfing.
Your shaper will help you select the best shape based on your skill level and the conditions you’ll be surfing in.
3. Customizing Dimensions
Dimensions such as length, width, and thickness are adjusted to fit your body and style. The volume (measured in liters) is also crucial, as it affects the board’s buoyancy. A board with the right volume will help you paddle efficiently and catch waves more easily.
4. Selecting Materials
The choice of materials affects the board’s durability and performance. Solid Surfboards offers a range of options including:
Polyurethane (PU) Foam: Traditional and versatile, offering a classic feel.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Foam: Lightweight and strong, ideal for high-performance boards.
Eco-Friendly Materials: Options like recycled foam and bio-resins for environmentally conscious surfers.
5. Designing the Look
This is where your creativity shines. Work with our team to design graphics, colors, and finishes that make your board stand out. Whether you prefer a sleek, minimalist design or a vibrant, eye-catching look, the choice is yours.
6. Crafting the Board
Once the design is finalized, our skilled craftsmen get to work. Shaping, glassing, and finishing are done with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that your board is not only beautiful but also high-performing.
7. Final Touches and Delivery
After the board is crafted, we add any final touches, such as leash plugs and fins. Your custom surfboard is then ready for pickup or delivery, and you can hit the waves with a board that is uniquely yours.
Conclusion
Designing your own surfboard is a fantastic way to enhance your surfing experience. At Solid Surfboards, we are committed to helping you create a board that reflects your personal style and meets your specific needs. Whether you’re riding your first wave or perfecting your barrel, a custom surfboard is an investment in your surfing journey.
