A.B.A gets jealous of other couples (she stalked them in public spaces from afar) who are more lovey dovey than her and Paracelsus. So to "spice" things up, she reads dating and romance tips on a (stolen) teen magazine that suggests those shoddy dating ideas and boasting to others that they're the end game (Paracelsus and others feels awkward as she says this).

After their arcade mode story, Paracelsus begins to feel guilt about having to manipulate A.B.A to wield him as a blood thirsty weapon. He knew A.B.A doesn't have hate in her heart, and saw how loving she actually is without her possessive traits. One example is when she polishes his brass parts after battle. She also tries to prop him in a comfortable position when at rest because she feels bad that he isnt mobile like she is.

Paracelsus admits, although not in a romantic way (sadly), that A.B.A is beautiful in her own way despite the uncanny nature of her origin. He says this in the most vague and bleakest way possible, yet A.B.A hyperventilated when she hears this.

Because of Paracelsus' statement on her beauty, she doesn't mind not fitting in with humans because his encouragement is all what she needed.

Let's say that A.B.A is considered attractive in their universe, minus the eye bags and the unkempt look- if someone ever compliments her in the slightest (grim extent is someone cat calls her) by a stranger, she would feel like she betrayed her husband for catching someone's eye. Mixture of frustration, shame, timidness, and anger would flow into her that she ultimately resorts to violence as a solution to the incomprehensible feeling. Paracelsus on the other hand would probs feel disgusted at the stranger's rude behavior, justifying his wife's violent outburst (ah yes, toxicity)

If another girl/woman compliments her though, she would be confused and scared as to why they would do such and not go after her husband. Because of her timid nature, she isn't used to hear positive things from others up until Elphelt (lol)

A.B.A's favorite color is blue, probs because she read somewhere or thought it's the calmest color. Blue in nature (partaining to animals) is usually rare, so it could also signify that she's drawn to things that are unique. (Or I could be wrong. I'm probably am--)

Speaking of the color blue, A.B.A attempted to dye her hair blue, but because of her vivacious red hair before, it resulted into greenish color (I know some fans theorize that her hair oxidized bc of her unusual body composition, but I wanna lean on the fact that she tries to fit in the outside world).

Paracelsus inspired her into liking color blue when he was talking about his past travels (at the risk of making A.B.A envy his previou's wielders ofc)

A.B.A was born with impeccable knowledge, thus explains why she speaks in such an authoritative manner. However since she lived in isolation for the first 10 years of her life, she does not know how humans speak in modern day. Paracelsus told her stories and spoke about philosophies only demons have access to.

Regarding small humans (as A.B.A likes to call the children), she wondered what it was like to grow up from a helpless being to a capable one, often lamenting that she hadn't had a literal childhood like a normal being. To cheer her up, Paracelsus suggested that their next date is at the park where there are swings and see-saws. Up to you how that's gonna work out lol

1, i find it funny that Caleb said lickitung than Pikachu since that… totally doesn’t make sense nor was why Twice suggested the name. IDK IM A POKÉMON NERD AND AN MHA FAN SO I JUST FIND IT A LITTLE SILLY.

Like I think Horikoshi chose Pikachu bc it’s the most recognizable Pokémon, along with Himiko’s “chu-chu” noises she makes when she drinks blood ofc, but it was also probably suggested bc… Pikachu has the same blushies that Ochako has…

Not to mention the fact that Pikachu is also representative of Toga’s colors, those of course being red and yellow.

Lickitung makes no sense other than the fact that it paralyzes people/Pokémon by licking them and making them uncomfortable. It’s such a… random gen 1 Pokémon idfk. I can see WHY he chose it, because lickitung is supposed to be a friendly Pokémon that accidentally makes people uncomfortable, but I think Pikachu being said instead just makes far more sense; Pikachu is supposed to be a cute Pokémon. It’s origins in gen 1 were, “I want you to make the cutest Pokémon you can” and the artist Atsuko Nisida had to go through 3-5 iterations of pixel art (bc they would make the pixelated version for the game first AND THEN draw the Pokémon from that) before finally settling on what people call “fat Pikachu” which looked like this

Lickitung works ig by being a Pokémon that ultimately is harmless to people but just accidentally freaks people out and makes them off-put by them, but Pikachu fits much better in a chapter where Ochako calls Himiko’s smile, something we’re supposed to see as creepy, perfect/pretty/beautiful. Comparing her and her cuteness to something like Pikachu just seems like something twice would do anything bc he’s a sweetie like that.

ALSO ANOTHER THING FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT POKÉMON: reguri is I think the most popular ship? That might be beat by Selena/ash and misty/ash, but regardless it’s super popular and also is EXTREMELY SIMILAR to bkdk.

This does depend on which version of them you’re talking about, but personally when I read pokespe (the most popular official Pokémon manga, there’s others but that’s just the most well known one) I always thought bkdk were so similar to red/blue to the point it was uncanny. At the time I thought “eh that’s just gay rival tropes there’s tons of other characters in other anime/manga/tv that are similar to them too” but after the mention OF Pikachu and Toga’s purposeful similarities I do wonder if horikoshi was a Pokémon fan in the 90’s during his childhood. That wouldn’t surprise me seeing as the games were such a booming success in Japan (literally it’s the most sold Pokémon games ever nothing has beat it since), so it would make sense if horikoshi was a secret Pokémon fan.

I mean, blues hair is even similar to bakugous but idk, maybe it’s a stretch.

They’re not childhood friends in pokespe, but they are childhood friends in the games, blue bullying him as they got older and pushing red away, red goes and has an emo arc on mount silver by himself without telling anyone, eventually comes down from that mountain in black and white 2 where red and blue are starting to be friends again, and I don’t think they’re seen again until sun and moon where they’re on vacation together in alola. There’s other outside game content that has just… progressively gotten more gay.

AGAIN, IM NOT SURE IF HORIKOSHI HAS READ THE POKESPE MANGA OR IF HE PUT THIS MUCH THOUGHT INTO IT! However I WILL say that if you enjoy bkdk you will probably enjoy reguri and the pokespe manga, especially since it has a more interesting plot than the anime or games, along with being less corny. It’s a lot more… I don’t wanna say graphic but honest? It wasn’t really made in mind that it would be targeted overseas like all the other Pokémon stuff, so it’s just more honest about environmental issues and pet abuse and things like that. Red and blues character arcs and friendship, along with Leaf’s character arc is very interesting just by itself, highly recommend.

MOVING ON… my Pokémon nerdiness aside, I love Himiko’s defiance to conform to hero society especially as a villain. Will she go against this vow because she sees herself as a full fledged villain? I wasn’t really sure.

She didn’t, which is great, but I also think those themes of pity and feeling like Ochako is still looking down on her… remind me exactly of Katsuki.

I also find this page and what toga says quite interesting.

Saying that she KNEW ochako was sad too, that’s a VERY interesting observation to make when thinking of someone you “hate”.

And I like the distinction that Ochako wasn’t afraid of Toga because of her smile being creepy, or that she was trying to harm her or tsu, but because she couldn’t understand why she was smiling during a fight.

It’s a couple of things: Ochako is not explicitly saying how she wishes she could talk about her love with Izuku, instead it seems to be more framed as talking ABOUT Izuku.

He’s not even looking at her, and she’s not looking at him; no, instead Ochako and Himiko are looking at each other, and talking about the importance to talk about your feelings openly, how she admires that quality to Himiko.

In a way this is Ochako saying “No, don’t become like him, this is why I admire you. That trait makes you admirable, it’s a trait I love in you.”

And lastly, that marriage proposal. Is it REALLY a marriage proposal? How romantic or platonic is this this scene?

Well, I went back and read chapter 348 to find out, and a little detail disregarded, not only by me but everyone else, was the line, “If you ask me, being a couple means being one and the same. Makes sense right? Nothing else… would fulfill my desires.”

And then ochako in 393, purposely bearing her feelings to Himiko and offering her blood to her? Even with this knowledge? The knowledge that Himiko would see this as a confession? Fucking crazy.

For all her flaws, I can perfectly picture why Ochako would prefer someone who sees romance like she does, openly unapologetic about her feelings like she is, over someone who can’t even see a teenage girls confession as an actual confession of love. Way to be selfish Izuku.

i don’t have many tbh but i’ll share the few i do have

first off i don’t like sonic x that much and it’s definitely a lot of people’s favorite sonic show. i think there’s a generational difference, seeing as though my fav sonic show is sonic boom 💀 i’ve only seen the first season so like my opinion could very well change if or when i finish it, especially cus i’ve seen clips of later stuff such as shadow and the chaotix being introduced and that seemed cool and a lot more interesting to me compared to the formulaic things i’ve seen so far. i think the argument that sonic is barely in his own show is a decent one too, bro literally never wants to do anything but nap and avoid chris (which i can’t blame him for that part). i personally also just haven’t gotten back into anime in general for several years becus i’m tired of the whole “you gotta wait for it to get better” type thing and i would rather just watch mindless stuff but everyone has their cup of tea and i don’t think it’s an inherently bad show at all either. it can never be as bad as the knuckles show…*shivers*. and ofc animation wise it’s fantastic and super nostalgic.

next hot take is about the song “almost dead” from shadow the hedgehog. it’s one of the most hated songs in the fandom however i LOVE it. i will blast that shit in my headphones thanks to the kind soul who uploaded it to spotify podcasts. the criticism that it doesn’t really match shadows character is valid, and it especially makes sense becus it was also in a horror movie. but as just a song in general my brain goes “ooo funny noises” and doesn’t really think about that part. i’d say the other infamously hated sonic song is sweet dreams from sonic 06 (and while i haven’t listened to it in awhile so i can’t be certain) i remember that song being pretty bad imo so i agree with that part at least

I am a firm believer that nobody who teams up/bases with Etho leaves unscathed, everyone just gets weirder about him because of his quirked up white(?) boy swag, but also if he likes you he'll just, follow you around like an anxious puppy whenever he can.

Joel gets so flustered so easily it's my favorite thing ever, he is almost on par with Tango when it comes to making Noises and that paired with Etho's kinda dense attitude makes this a very fun pair to watch banter and navigate situations.

Any Etho ship is great in my books but I also just really really like Joel so it's like making your two favorite characters kiss, selfcare:)

3-Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

Had tto think a bit cause at first I thought I didn't, and tbh Im not even completely sure? But I have seen a lot of people say that it's Joel who brings out the red energy of Etho, and that Etho in turn acts as some sort of balance or accomplice and I just don't really see it that way? I think it's actually Etho who makes Joel act differently, in double life Etho keeps bringing up Joel's reputation as a Red and once they die it feels like Joel is almost putting up a show. Like he needs to live up to Etho's expectations of his Red persona because he admires him and wants to impress him, the moments that come to mind are the Pearl chase when they first die and then Joel yelling to Cleo about how he killed her last time, I just think they both kinda admire eachother but act so weird about it so there's no other choice but to kiss sloppy style

I am usually not one to be moved by ships that are just "they are fun and healthy together and love eachother" but oh GOD the ranchers. See I think the thing is they just.. make sense for eachother even if you don't expect it until the point they realise they're soulmates.

Jimmy's situation has been talked about to hell and back at this point but Tango is also very out of his element in the life series. He says himself that pvp is not his specialty and he doesn't have the time or resources to make his skill set shine. So he ends up either somewhat ignored or outcasted for most of the games. (<-- fyi fun fact this is where the whole 'mech pilot tango' idea came from lol. i feel like he'd have a dva-style mech outside of the life series)

In particular i LOVE his relationship with team BEST and I NEED desperately to talk abt it more. the way he's constantly talked over by his own teammates, intimidated, asked to sacrifice his own lives for their sake, "tango's Easy", etc. etc.

The Ranchers epitomize that.

They are doomed. They both know this, I think. Neither of them can fight, they're left begging for scraps by session 2, no one on the server takes either of them seriously and they lost a life literally like 10 minutes into the first episode.

But they built a home together, raised livestock, stood up for eachother. and they were happy together.

and isn't that what really matters?

and neither of them are even aware of how much they really meant to the other one. the game ends. tango tells jimmy to go home. go. they certainly don't break up to the extent of Some Other Pairings In This Series but i like to think tango distances himself, thinking jimmy would be happier with his friends and not stuck with him. jimmy thinks the same. but they still wave hi and call eachother rancher and now they're running a salad restaurant together or something i guess.

It's just.. everything that gets the two of them condemned and made fun of in their other relationships is what's Celebrated in theirs. They can just be themselves, mistakes and silliness and imperfections at all, with no pressure to perform amazing feats and make amazing stuff and I think that's great.

I would never ship my favorite character with someone i dislike so much, let alone write fanfics about my favorite character with the character that is such a monster to her and doesn’t deserve her.

i mean i posted that after i had posted a bunch about arizona so that’s what that was specifically referencing, i promise you it’s not that deep

and yes i do ship calzona. i love calzona. i love both callie and arizona and all of their various flaws. that’s what makes them fun and interesting. i genuinely don’t dislike callie, in fact quite the opposite. i don’t think taking a look at someone’s flaws means you dislike them. i certainly don’t think callie’s a monster. i think they both at different points in time made mistakes in their relationship and hurt each other to varying degrees and i highly doubt im the only one who thinks that. neither one of them is perfect and i don’t expect them to be

since i’ve apparently been unconscionably cruel to callie, here’s some highlighting of arizonas flaws:

she’s a fundamentally insecure person imo. yes she talks a big game and claims not to be insecure but very few people would say they’re insecure or flawed. arizona is insecure though and i think it often leads her to be distrustful.

she’s almost always the source of calzona’s communication issues as she bottles up her emotions. she seemingly thinks callie will be able to read her mind or something. and early on she does seem to be more aware of this - when they have the mini fight about george she talks about not understanding things - but with time and more trauma she stops communicating well with callie and things just break down from there

she never really apologizes for the cheating at least not on camera. i’d like to think that she would have off camera etc but for arguments sake lets say she didn’t. now i don’t think that arizona didn’t regret the cheating, didn’t hate herself for it, but i think arizona is a bit of a coward and avoids conflict like the plague until pushed to the absolute edge so i think there’s an argument to made that arizona might never have worked up the nerve to apologize especially considering how little she and callie spoke afterwards. this circles back to arizonas communication issues and she’s really just entirely avoidant about a variety of things

let’s take a look at the sleeping with leah which i’d almost argue is worse than the original cheating: for starters, the power imbalance is fucked up (just as it always is when attendings fuck around with residents) it’s also fucked up that arizona even goes down this path at all - although i am inclined to think that arizona really thought they’re marriage was over before then but as stated above she’s a bit of a coward and wasn’t willing to actually verbalize that to callie

that’s just off the top of my head but there’s absolutely more and none of that means i don’t like arizona just like talking about callie doesn’t mean i don’t like callie

i do want to clear something up - when i talk about calzona being from callie’s pov and how that negatively affects arizonas character, that’s not a criticism of callie, it’s not even really a criticism of the show. it’s an ensemble show and ofc some characters get more screen time than others. my point primarily is that arizonas really underdeveloped and because we are almost always presented with callie’s viewpoint, it’s natural that as viewers we empathize more with callie bc she simply makes more coherent sense. we understand the majority of the time why callie’s acting the way she is but with arizona frequently it’s open to interpretation and we don’t always know where arizonas coming from.

i think that’s also why it’s interesting to discuss callie’s flaws bc she is essentially the main character in their storylines and there’s a lot of really under discussed aspects. a lot of time and energy has been spent on arizonas many mistakes and flaws and rightfully so but just bc arizona made mistakes doesn’t mean callie didn’t also make mistakes. and frankly i love their mistakes bc that’s what makes them fun and interesting. if they were just perfect all the time i can’t imagine any of us would be that invested

and yes i do really think that they are the best person for each other. i think they understand and love each other in a way no one else can. and i think it does sort of cut both ways. when they’re good, they’re amazing but they can also hurt each other unlike anyone else. i don’t think that’s only a bad thing it just means that they love each other so deeply that there’s a risk involved.

once again, i don’t think callie’s a monster (have i ever said that?) i don’t think arizonas an angel. next time i make a jokey post about the content i post on twt ill make sure to make that distinction.

but also, let me just say this, if you don’t like the content i post, you don’t need to follow me or read my work or whatever way you’re engaging with me. if im not your cup of tea that’s totally fine! i’m always more than happy to have discussions with any and everyone but we both need to come from a place of good faith. i write for calzona bc i adore them and enjoy writing about them. trust me when i say i wouldn’t have written as much as i have if i didn’t genuinely love both of them.

finally some appreciation for my man and favourite character kingler like he goddamn DESERVES. i actually have not enjoyed tadc very much theres so much i rly dislike abt it but its like super well produced and indie so like you watch to be on the loop (i wish it was actually rendered closer to the quality of cd games from the 2000s that it seemed to be referencing but like, it looks how it looks and thats how it is), i rly disliked the script for the mpst part in the first 2 eps but ive loved kingler from day 1 so having an ep with mostly just him and pomni (i have mixed feelings on her too but w/e) was great great great and we had some lore n stuff but rly like i could smell a fellow traumatized man whos a bit wacky to cope from miles away and im glad to be proven Right

kingler so cute so very handsome and uwu so gentle and kind 💖💖💖 i love how gentle he is and good to pomni (ofc ppl are gonna call it fatherly or god forbid grandfatherly when hes like 40, and now if you ship them ppl will say its incesty when theyre two grown adults but w/e) like idk i just love a kind mentally unwell man!!! im simple!!! him just overexposing at the near end in dialogue was rly awkward in the writing like man they just, the dialogue is so not good. but in theory his character is so good and the thing abt the darkness and such was sweet. like hes just always been so endearing and the ep just gives a lot of free real estate kingler screentime to drink with my eyeballs, it doesnt change my opinion on the character at all bc ive always loved him this much

the rest was ok just the typical fare for the most part, like tadc rly often makes me so dissatisfied bc it has so So much potential but the ways it kinda just ends up like a dumbed down typical cartoon is really meh. i do love caine though and more proof that hes a non malicious (although maybe harmfully ignorant) ai. his gags almost land for me if they werent really Really lampshaded, i love how much he cares but is incapable (yet) of improving, i thought it was sweet zooble was so earnest with him. like, the whole tadc def improves the less mean spirited it is, for me. which is hard bc the most favoured character is rancid mean disney purple guy.

Their dynamic to me at first at least, is Bellamie who's afraid of letting someone in with Percival unintentionally pushing her way in despite his attempts to keep her at arms length, since she's not the best at picking up social cues & he's never outright told her he doesn't want her company bc he knows he wouldn't be being honest with himself and also he doesn't want to hurt her the way he's been hurt before??

She'd end up being such a positive influence on the guy encouraging him to be more forward with his emotions even if he feels like they're embarrassing to say out loud? And more comfortable with the way he presents his gender?

In terms of dates:

-> Can definitely see them cooking food!! And it's either really good food or some bizarre ass combination (i.e cheeto's w/ milk, peanut butter with tomato) since it's canon that during holidays Percy adds butter to her water .

-> They're both into architecture !! So I can see them just taking walks to admire the different type of buildings or going to museums to admire art + photos of buildings

-> Give the vibe of being cuddled up on the couch and reading books together !!

-> Think they'd go to thrift stores together sometimes too !! He likes seeing Percy's eyes light up when they're able to find an animal shaped clock.

12. How does your Tav feel about Us? Did they free them, maim them or leave them behind?

They thought Us was a hallucination at first ngl, and freed them because they could. Then they met them again under Moonrise and was literally so hyped, they keep them like a cat now, much to everyone else’s chagrin.

17. Does your Tav’s starting armor reflect them? If not, what would they wear instead?

*Haarleps hahaha no instert here* Komi was taking a break from their shift at Sharess Caress', they would not be wearing that green atrocity. It'd be something loose with exposure to the chest, something like Minthara's pjs, but flowy and made of like a silky fabric. With like a harness beneath it ofc ofc. (Followed by companion reactions, Gale was a little unnerved.)

19. What’s your Tav’s personality like at the start of the game? Does it change as the game goes on?

Komi is and was emo af, but very much so softening and more trusting as time went on. At first they were almost never speaking, kinda going off on their own, forgetting they had people follow him around like ducklings. Also very heavily spaced out. But at the end he was more... there, soft smiles and big eyes.

21. Which companion do you get first? If you get Shadowheart first no matter what, who’s the second one?

Gale usually, I just like him, but lore wise Komi can kinda feel the magic tugging at them.

WOOO OKAY BIG ONE

So Lae'zel, they liked her, they kinda let her do what she wanted on the ship because they were still getting their bearings and what not, trying to find a time to slip away and explore. They also pressed a lot of buttons and getting Shart out was a complete accident (They were curious if it would gloop her.) After that, freeing her from the cage was an obvious choice to them, she had big sword and can fight good. They got along like a flame and oil, burning the other brighter.

Shart... They didn't mention the fact getting her out was an accident and kinda wanted to see if she would go gloopy. They were curious about the artifact but gave no shits otherwise. They acknowledged her cageyness, and saw a bit of themselves in it so they just shrugged and didn't ask.

GALE oh... oh Komi hated Gale. They didn't remember a lot (blame the concussion), but they do remember the feeling of a wizard, a tower, silence, hate. He recoiled as soon as Gale landed at their feet, body going into overdrive, breathing coming in quick bursts and magic tingling in their fingertips, ready to extinguish whomever it may be. It took Gale a few moments to realize this, he immediately jumped into warnings about not killing him, and tried to prove he meant no harm. safe to say Shadowheart was confused, trusting the drow's instinct. Eventually they put away their hatred and let him tag along, knowing a wizard may be useful, and it would be cruel to leave someone behind with a tadpole in their heads. (Also Gale promised to make the group food and they liked that idea.)

Astarion... this was interesting, because the two had met, but once again neither remembered. They knew he was about to try something and tried to fire off a cantrip, which led to the two on the ground tussling. Astarion had the upper hand with his body ass limbs and blade already out, ready to slice their throat while trying to question them. Komi then flipped the situation and pinned the vampire, eventually the two came to an understanding and started to travel together. Komi liked Astarion, liked his survival instincts.

WYLLLLLLL, so these two met when they were kids at the beach down by the lower city. Komi showed off some magic tricks and Wyll was enthralled. They didn't see one another again after that, and neither remembered the other. So this led to when they re-met, Komi immediately liked the man. His flair for the dramatic and treatment of others, they were curious about the whole being a warlock thing though, not wanting to push.

Karlach... They liked her heat, her energy, her lust for life. He understands well the need for getting that anger out and that sheer scream for freedom. They saw a kindred spirit in her, one that wasn't beaten down by her situation. They liked her.

Halsin - "Where'd the bear go." They kinda had an intrigue in him, liking his voice and everything. Beyond that, it was kinda spacey until they heard his story.

Jaheira was fun, they didn't like the vines, gave them a rash and made their scales itch. She was fun though, and full of life.

Minsc... Komi liked Boo a lot, Minsc came with it.

how i feel about this character:

I LOVE CAT i love him so so much. he's so funny and iconic and just. a pleasure to witness. it's always so fun to see what new outfits he wears in each episode hehe. im always a sucker for humanoid characters with animal traits as well, im kind of a furry/furry-adjacent so obv that aspect of him appeals to me too........ he was actually my favourite character for a while before he got beaten by rimmer and then by lister but he's still very dear to my heart

any/all the people i ship romantically with this character:

nobody! my personal headcanon for the cat is that he's aromantic so i don't ship him romantically with anyone, he's expressed multiple times that he gets confused or revolted by the idea of committed romantic relationships and i can't imagine that it would be something he'd derive happiness from. just my personal headcanon though ofc

my favourite non-romantic relationship for this character:

oh definitely his friendship with lister! i love love love how they can be partners in crime sometimes and how cat seems to have a weird kind of respect for lister (at least compared to how he feels abt rimmer lol). it's very very funny how lister is technically the god of cat's species and the whole reason why he's even alive in the first place and yet cat just Doesn't Care abt it. i love how in earlier seasons lister would treat cat more like a cat sometimes...... ik it's definitely not canon but i like to think that he still does cat stuff with him sometimes like getting him to chase laser pointers and string. i also think cat should snuggle up to lister sometimes and complain abt his smell the whole time but he also spends hours like that bc he enjoys it. imagining rimmer walking in one day to see lister playing video games with the cat just curled up on his lap and he immediately turns 180° and walks back out of the room LMAO

my unpopular opinion about this character:

call me a sap if you want but i do think he cares abt his friends. i think he loves and cares abt them deep down and idc what anyone says, even canon. if you've ever been friends with a real kitty you'll know that they can be extremely affectionate loving creatures, and although cat himself is pretty aloof i like to believe he has a loving side deep down. very deep down.

one thing i wish would happen/had happened with this character in canon:

i would love to see more of the other cats! also the whole thing of "coolness" being an expression of atheism in cats is so funny and i would have loved to see more of his fellow Cool Cats that don't follow "cloister's" teachings. i also would love to see him doing more cat-things in the modern series like he used to do back in the first two seasons especially, like playing with his food and scent marking by spraying perfume on everything and stuff like that. he doesn't do as much of that stuff as the show goes on and i miss it

Seeing how I haven't really been giving Nina love I figure she be the next one for the meme. Dunno if im doing all the oc's first atm I might do a few other muses first? well see how I feel XD

but yeah lets give Nina some attention since I have been neglecting her as of late. By the oc muses used on this blog she is my oldest muse I made her uh roughly back in 2011-2012 ish. She was the last oc I made when I still a kid. Cause I was a senior in Highschool at this time.

✍ Favorite thing about writing the muse?

Personally, as someone who just really enjoy's hero characters who started off as an underdog. Captain America, Spider-Man. And hero's that tend to instill hope into people as well? Like Nightwing. It's what I wanted Nina to be.

She's a girl that girl that grew up in a poor area, the kind of schools with metal detectors, no funding, kids fighting having behaviorist. Nina herself was a kid left in the foster system by her father. She already held no respect for bullies and often got into fights trying to defend others. Because she was always inspired by Captian America.

Her sense for sticking to that no matter her own situation always what I liked best about her.

👀Favorite thing about the muse’s appearance?

Gonna get a bit personal here, growing up I didn't often get characters that look like me. Heck Princess Jasmine was my favorite (still is) Disney Princess because she was brown like me. Sadly the way the world is? A women with dark skin, and curly dark hair wasn't seen as being 'pretty'

I grew up being made to feel long straight light hair was pretty. I never bleached my hair mind you but I did used to straighten it all the time. Cause I was told it was 'nicer' looking when straight.

Nina originally had straight brown hair. When I went to redesign her I decided to make it short and curly. Funny enough it's kind of why I went and cut my own hair and stopped straighten it as well. I also feel the curly locks just fit her better for her personality

🌌Favorite alternate version of the muse?

XD I've never talked about it on here but when the whole craze of making Spidersonas. I made a Nina Spiderman character XD

i fleshed it out more when the second movie came out what with the whole 'cannon' event stuff getting brought up and what not. So this version of Nina got spider powers well being at Stark industries for a field trip instead of being a test subject of the super solider serum. She starts trying to be a hero and Steve can just tell this is a young untrained person so one days he approaches her and takes her under his wing so to speak. This is why Nina's spider hero name becomes the Star Spider. And because of the cannon events Steve dies uwu Jay Walker becomes the new Captain America. And Nina's seen as a public menace as is Spider-mans' cruse because she's actively against him And to add MORE pain so dose Autumn Nina's girlfriend who basically her Gwen Stacy. XD Im glossing over a lot of stuff here but I don't wanna make this bit to long XD

XD Funny enough I have Shipped Nina with other characters some mentioned will clear be from a time before I made her a Lesbian. I had her date: Peter Parker, Elijah Bradley, Kate Bishop, America Chavez. Why mention these here? cause I liked them not hate them personally XD And I find it funny that ofc i paired Nina with two other characters that also had an America theming. XD In truth I would say out of her old ships her and Kate Bishop (new hawkeye) was my more favorite one since both their mentors were on the OG Avengers team so Nina and Kate being part of the Young Avengers but of course, you know Nina's end game girl is Autumn uwu I think there is something to say about a girl who always wanted to be a hero ending up with someone who isn't involved in that world at all. Just this school teacher Nina met in her college days and fell so hard for. Autumn is someone who gives Nina that support she doesn't fully get from her family not that they dont supoort her its the Rogers of course they support her. But they don't really see Nina's own short comings or struggles like Autumn dose. When she's with Autumn she's just Nina not an Avenger. They take Cooper for walks in the park together. They relax on thier couch with Copper and their cat Jesper. Nina often helps out Autumn out with her class. It's the time Nina isn't being associated with being a hero. In that sense.

Being with Autumn just makes Nina feel whole in a different way and seeing how Nina kind of found Autumn after losing her arm? Something Something symbolism uwu XD i just don't often get to talk about this aspect of Nina's life

I wouldn't say there is like a specific person in Nina's past it's just not really ever been a big part of her story. I have mentioned before that her dating history had a few people who didn't love Nina for all she was. Either her super heroing cause of fear or annoyance. Nina's personality itself. That for someone who wants to do what is right has no respect for those who oppose their will and feels she can teach those people a lesson by beating them down. This girl does not think ahead like at all. she is very much someone to rush in, ask questions never and fully allow her emotions to control her. And well it's all from a good place it's still what gets Nina or others that she cares for into bad situations.

😈Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse?

For sure taking her arm away. Nina being the act first person she is really needed to learn to think and sure when she lost her arm it was in the middle of a huge chaotic mess and not cause she charged in. But it was sort of a lesson that Nina can't always strong arm, pun intended, her way out of situations. Nina can be a bit of a muscles head so to speak. She kind of learned that being strong physically isn't enough.

😂Funniest thing that’s ever happened to your muse?

hmmm Brooklyn learning that Nina isn't Nina's first name, I mean it is but her full name is Valentina Sarah Rogers, Nina is just taken from Valentina cause well Nina doesn't. But Brooklyn taking it such a big reveal as if Nina was like lying this whole time when in truth she didn't ever see a need to mention it XD And was more shocked Brook only noticed when looking at a photo taken at Nina's college. When Brook has been to some many places that dose use Nina's full legal name since Nina doesn't do the whole secret identity thing herself.

It turned into Brooklyn acting betrayed to Nina's basically calling her sister slow and stupid XD Also I like that Nina implies only Steve calls her by her full name and it's only when she is in real trouble.

💡 What inspires you to write the muse?

hmm im not too sure? I generally love Nina and how making her and older sister sort of shaped her a lot. XD I guess my favorite thing to write about her and inspires me in addition to the question earlier.

one. I know I write her but I generally think Nina is funny, she just says some things that genuinely get a good laugh out of me.

two. Her relationship with her sister Brook.

This is likely still my favorite thing about her, when first made Nina was an only child till me and Kezzie became friends and started to make oc stories together. I just feel Brook's addtion to Nina's life brings out this softer side to Nina that I never explored before. Nina is quick to jump to Brook's aid and side no matter what even from the start she did as such. She sung lullbies to her sister and I feel is generally Brook's friend not just her sister. She has more trust in what Brook can do than Brook herself dose. And its honestly one of my favorite things to write about her and brook ;3;

not something ever written here BUT I would say when Steve and Nina started to bond and develop their father daughter relationship. Steve, never turned away from Nina or turned Nina away she was never too much for him even when she was dealing with a lot of her anger Steve found a way to build trust with Nina. Nina felt like someone was actually going to be there for her. And she pays this forward later when Brooklyn comes in to the picture.

Nina went from admiring Steve to truly living by what he stood by. And I feel this is what shapes her to be a good legacy of Steve.

📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse?

When Nina isn't doing Avenger stuff she helps out in her old neighbors youth center, named after Steve.

Nina has to put spice on everything she eats or she says it is bland as fuck, she got a good spice tolerance.

🔮 What do you see in your muse’s future?

I like to think Nina will be the one to start up the young Avengers being the leader of the team. Looking how MCU setting up a few members are college age so it works. It'll be like her start of making a name for herself as a hero and such. I can see her consulting with Steve lot when she struggles with leading and such Tony as well. looking at Kezzie answers for Brook I feel when she steps away from the team works for this transition to happen for Nina. Nina and Autumn will get married at some point no kids but they are more pet parents anyway.

Nina always finds time to visit Brooklyn on her farm and brings Coop along with so he can chill with Boof. It makes her happy to see brook living a life she wants. Though she can't help but wonder if she was wrong all those years ago when her and Astrid sort of fought about that same thing.

hmmm I dunno if I have one to be honest? I guess if I needed to think of one it be that Nina doesn't know how to give up. I would more say the opposite is true. Nina doesn't know how to give up she has done it alot in her life mainly giving up on herself. Nina knows how to get knocked down over and over again but finding it in herself to get back up. Her licks were all taken mentally but like Steve she can do this all day.

💭 Favorite memory of the muse?

I would say it was when she first met brook, which was a commission writing piece Kezzie did for me XD BUT STILL I just like that Brooklyn this girl who never known anything of the world put her trust in Steve ends up getting locked up for the crime of being made by Hyrda u-u only for Nina to sneak in and speak to this girl. It may come off as Nina being cautious but it was more her being curious about what was going on. I think its a nice moment not only for a full circle thing of Nina trusting Brook and freeing her and standing up for Brook to the rest of the team. but I feel it really just shows the whole building blocks of them being sisters. Nina, literally willing to risk anything and bet it all on Brook. She has always done this from the start.

😩 Hardest thing about writing the muse?

I guess currently it would be just writing her at all ^^;;; which isn't anything against anything at all I'm just dealing with some burn out with Marvel stuff in that I miss how the movies were before post-Endgame Phases XD I just need to work through that honestly.

XD we sort of talked about it on discord BUT cross dimensional Roger family ;3; What if Peggy, Marvel Zombies Nina, and Hydra Brooklyn. XD I feel we could also easily get a Steve in her but i sort of forgot how season 2 ended so I dont recall what happened with the robin hood Steve Rogers XDD I think he got got?? BUT I say we ignore that and use him uwu since he and Peggy were getting close it could work ;3;

I mentioned some things already such as the whole hair thing. But I would say Nina being an angry teen in her past. I also was an angry teen myself. SO I can say Nina being this jokester/hellion person as she grew into a better environment is something we share as well in that I guess we share a healing journey

Assorted Buffy s1e06 thoughts

I wanna start doing this for the episodes I watch. Idk. Yhid was the first episode to really wow me. Love the hyena motif. I have a friend whos fursona is a hyena and it made me think about him. Even though its kinda anti hyena propogands. That line about them being denied grom the arc was fucked up.

I know i shouldn't blame Xander for what he did while posessed but I kinda do. I know i just said I like xander and i still do but. Fucking hell. Him trying to assault buffy was crazy. But i huess if you wanna take the interpritation of the hyena bringing out the hosts id then that makes sense cause its being based on his real desire to have a relationship with buffy. Just taken to the most hyper extreme possible. But that would also mean that like on some levek he meant the shit he said to willow. Maybe not to the same level ofc, he still obviously likes willow as a friend but its fucked to know he kinda treats her as second banana to buffy. And the part when she started to blame herself...

Thats how i felt. On the inside. Love that we're getting to see willows insecurities a little more. The fsnily guy clip suggests im in the camp of being against this but tbh I liek them oushing her character. I thibk that if i wanted to see these characters be nice to each other and comfort each other id read fanfiction. Let em suffer. Idgaf. As long ad i know by the end theyll probably be fine im happy. Though i cant day for certain, who knows they killed the wacky principal character off by havibg him be CANIBALISED. Thats so badass genuinely. I know its hot true but i wanna say you cant do that on tv anymore. Peoplr would call it "pointless shock cakue". Well fuck me im shocked! They did it ya know? They suceeded.

I thoight that they were gonna make willow let him out but im glad they let her see throigh him. I dont ship xander and willow but im really into the dynamic. The fact that xander seems to think on some levek he can do better then willoe mants him to be told that he cant. But also i know i shouldnt let love be a game of conquest. Im sure she'll get a better love interest later on but for now i wanna see where this ship sails. Apparently its called Xillow. Not what i wouldve gone wirh but fine. It wounds like something theyd sell on tv at 3 in the morning.

Unrelated to the plot but the music for this episode is nuts. Im bobbing my head along to this crazy style. I know i should be worrried for the gang but i csnt help but nod along.

so first things first i gotta talk about my gumakeria music. my main artists are between friends (duh), the neighbourhood (wiped out!), niki (moonchild), taylor swift, del water gap. i can find them everywhere. something in the water, we could be so electric, ditto, self-destruct, the beach, cruel summer, WEST COAST, so it goes, ode to a conversation stuck in my throat, SHUT UP MY MOMS CALLING, die for you, alma, eyes on my baby, collide. i will not stfu. i could easily give you a lyric analysis of any song (actually i lied i cant with some songs bc its just the vibe yk?) but ill spare you.

OK so the thing about gumakeria is like. theyre an obvious pairing. yes, everyone ships botlanes together. its a pandemic. the govt assigned ships are taking over. but. BUT. they are so much more than a govt assigned ship okay??? THEY MAKE SENSE. they are so devoted and so soulmates and just so !!!!!! i fell so hard for them and then couldnt get back up. the way gumayusi is so outwradly/openly affectionate while keria is more silently supportive. their parallels in game with their personalities is so insane and interesting actually. because yeah, the adc is the center of attention. guma shines and keria, well, supports. same with their personalities, guma is open and keria is quieter. guma praises and waxes poetic about keria all the time while keria is... quieter. but despite the traditional lane roles, whats also interesting is the rise of keria being the star of the t1 botlane (what with his picks and insane talent) rather than guma. contrast this with the rise of more keria-pov gumakeria fanfic...??? (bear with me i have a point, i swear.)

so, yeah. there are less canon-compliant fics in gumas pov. more in keria pov. why is that? im just speculating, of course, bc like. myself included... i mostly write keria pov! the thing is, because keria is "quieter" and less overt i think people are drawn to him so they can figure out whats underneath the surface and write that. its easier to find, in a way, because hes quieter and mysterious, /ofc/ hes going to be more emotive in that way. and like, yeah, guma is overt and bright. so much so that, oftentimes, its harder to look underneath the surface. he's the sun, yeah? bright and brilliant and glaring. it hurts to look at the sun. keria is covert, and "softer" and easier to look at in that way. you can spot his ulterior motives faster. hes greedy, hes desperate, hes cruel (im using all these adjectives artistically, bear with me). with guma, hes already so OPEN you're tricked into thinking he doesnt have any ulterior motives. everything is already out in the air, right? NO. HE HAS ULTERIOR MOTIVES TOO BUT NO ONE EVER NOTICESSS. HE WILL STRAIGHT OUT FUCKIGN SAY THEM AND NO ONE BATS AN EYE OR THINKS TO LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER BECAUSE HES SO UPFRONT ABOUT IT. he wants this he wants that—noone truly knows or cares to find out how MUCH he wants it. hes also greedy and hungry and never satisfied. hes also emotive and desperate and--guma has so many layers that he hides. theyre the same like that, you get what i mean? and keria is the one person that sees guma for who he really is, and vice versa. theyre each others sanctuary; their escapes. gumakeria are the same but in different fonts. theyre equally devoted, and show it in their own ways. it truly is a push and pull. (i really need to write more guma-pov non-au gumakerias)

one thing that lowk pisses me off is the assumption of gumakerias dynamic being a sun and moon dynamic. theyre not. like, if you want to get superficial about it, they are, sure, aesthetically and when it comes to the "common pairing." but if you look deeper and try to find more meaning like i inevitably will bc im like that, you'll see theyre not the sun and the moon. theyre the sun and the stars (in the case of celestial bodies, and in the case of bodies of nature, theyre the sun and the sea). im not just saying sun and stars to be dIFfEREnt here. keria has always been a starboy to me, not a moonboy (oner is quite literally a moonboy lmao). so it sort of frustrates me. heres a line from one of my wips using sun/star motifs for guke: “The sun is a star, and I am yours.” (spoken by guma). THE SUN IS A STAR. and THAT IS THE FUCKING POINT. THAT IS EXACTLY THE POINT. the thing about the sun and the moon is that the moon reflects off the sun's light. the stars? the stars are the sun. the stars burn by themselves. THE SUN IS A MOTHERFUCKING STAR. gumakeria are both luminous and incandescent and theyre burning. they are both burning with want. guma is more overt, sure. keria is subtler. what he lacks for in mass, he makes up with quantity. they are the same, and that is the point. in my last retrospring submit, i called them two forces of nature, and that is exactly what they are. they collide and it's like two binary stars coalescing into one. its got the impact of a supernova, and its hot and bright, and... thats them, you know? that's gumakeria.

and you can translate their dynamic into so many things. so many aus, so many versions of them, so many... them. one sided, or reciprocated. them fighting for each other. someone struggling, one being so desperate. one being stable. one being fleeting. at the end, its just them. theyre so strong both romantically and platonically because of how much they get each other. like, do we even need to specify? its all and its both and its everything. they are everything.

part of what draws me to gumakeria is... well, that. theyre twin souls. they are so in tune with each other. they get each other. they are virtually the same, and see each other as that. its two people that want and are hungry and who will never get enough. keria is never satisfied: have we ever stopped to think if guma is? the thing is, the thing the two are satisfied with is one another. it will be them, forever. they are just bound. they are just together. i think they see each other like no other. and its their personalities and their ways of showing love and their selfishness and their wanting and their dynamic that just kills me. they have that surface layer of fluff and cuteness and govt assigned ship, just like guma has his surface, and how their dynamic has the surface of sun and moon. but underneath they are so perfect and introspective and moody and ITS FUCKING RIDICULOUS, HOW MUCH THEY LIVE IN MY BRAIN. how can someone be so in tune to someone else's emotions?? how can that happen? how are they so similar yet so different? theyre each others' grounding force. guma's the stability, sure, but hes nothing without the stability of keria and vice versa. they play that role for each other. they play all the roles for each other. they are vulnerable and emotive and there for each other. and, thinking back in rookie years, they grew with each other. theyre so strong and they have almost... unwritten history. theres just so much about them that i will constantly be in awe of. or, well. theres so much my mind builds. i have a whole palace of gumakeria floating in my head, and im finding so many nooks and crannies every time i look.
