Bucket List
Imagine my surprise when ‘I want a child’ appeared on both of their panels. This time around Liah has rolled many wants due to her pregnancy - including read parenting books and join pregnancy forums.
[Transcript under the cut]
Lapis: I smell doughnuts. Are you making doughnuts? Liah: I am. Lapis: Cool I'll have 14 of them. Liah: Nice try - these doughnuts are for the baby. You may have one though.
above Elliot's head - 'innocently' eats his tofu dog.

I was thinking more about how Yokai life stages are so different from ours and what kind of effect that would have on everything else. Like, if we assume their life cycles is similar to that of a human, just on a much longer scale, then a Yokai could be in their 'child-bearing years' for literally centuries. (I mean, it all depends on the Yokai and the life cycle of their source DNA and how much they inherited from that, but assuming most of them are more human-like) And their kids do take slightly longer to mature, but not by that much.
I've already figured that there's much less of a push to get people having babies as soon as they can-they've got so much time, and especially since Yokai are generally healthier and less susceptible to disease they're expecting most of those kids to survive to adulthood. That would just be a lot of babies, and rapid population growth would really put a strain on resources. So even though Yokai are legal adults at 20 and probably reach sexual maturity around the same time as humans, having kids before you're a century old is considered super early. Like, Bella is 45, and she would practically be considered a teen mother if she had a kid now. "You're not even fifty yet, oh my god, you haven't lived! You need time on your own to figure out who you are!" (ironically, there are kids she went to school with who are grandparents now)
But anyway, considering the baby-having window is so wide and Yokai kids don't take that long to grow up, I feel like it would be the norm to have one, maybe two kids and then raise them to adulthood before having the next. That way you're not splitting your attention between a bunch of kids and can devote all your energy and resources into the one you're working on right now. Then once the kid is a young adult and doesn't really need to be actively parented anymore, then they can move onto the next one.
This also makes Draxum's decision to mutate and raise four mutant children at once even more unhinged.

zesty lowkey just another way for str8 ppl to say faggot / faggy and get away with it
#and im sick of letting them#cus why my lil nephew not even ten yet saying that and 'acting 'zesty' ' with his friends#i hate sounding like a boomer like i value the upside of technology#but u give humans / ANYONE rlly a chance to relax and a lot will turn it into laziness / neglect just because they can#like it's good to spread awareness but it's maybe likeeee. Not a good thing to spread statements/stereotypes with no further explanation#and peddle it to CHILDREN#whose comprehensions skills are. surprise. that of a CHILD'S#i say this ironically. btw#'oh im so mature for my age' no bro ure an immature HUMAN whos being forced to immaturely consider urself mature#due to the nature of ur relationships and homelife (or more-so the lack/negatives of them)#like it's ok to be a little stupid#as long as u keep trying to improve instead of just sitting in fault#or acting like they dont exist#anyways this got off topic but ya. crazy#kids have been killing each other n crazy shit like that but lately the crazy murder stories have HEAVILY leaned into#a misunderstanding of materialism#instead of just 'i wonder what it feels like' it's 'she took my ipad & also i wonder what it feels like'#like the first was already scary enough & now we've got this shit???#empathy is going thru a downside and we need to adjust the scales back!!!#im not gonna act like this is some new never seen b4 onset of fear impacting a generation after mine#bcs it's not never seen before in LIFE.. it's just never been seen b4 in UR life. which can feel like LIFE LIFE bcs like. uve only got one#that u may be cognizant of or etc religion aspect insert here. the point is. history repeats itself. but the points of history#can vary in visibility. some events get more notice than others bcs history's voice is ppl & actions & sometimes that gets erased#this isnt some bastardization point of one generation. but it IS a flaw that can show up in any gen (usually the oncoming ones)#bcs changes can be comfort & discomfort & the one u'd usually consider negative isnt always#anyways what im trying to say is. we need empathy back up period. always. we need empathy#lack of it is concerning. end of argument

I think hazbin hotel is part of a common trend recently where things call themselves “adult” to mean like saying bad words but still have the themes of and are structured like children’s shows

The Caesar comment got my brain buzzing, mostly because Caesar took over modern civilization at the time by marching his troops on his own city. He wanted drastic change. History views him as the hero only because he was a “successful” dictator. (Lots of military poweress = land, gold, slaves, plus he followed after two morally AWFUL dictators while having some semblance of morality himself. Plus a tragic untimely death.). Caesar could have so easily have been a villain, had he not been followed by a very very successful adoptive son who ADORED him and venerated his name. I think Homie understands the parallels between himself and Caesar, considering what a history buff he is.
Anyways I am now pondering if he’s gonna try to take over the world ala the comics. An army of Supes led by him. What a silly lil guy!
honestly, I could write an essay on the show directly comparing him to Caesar. the man was fully aware of the conspiracy to kill him, but outright refused to take ANY precautions. even rejected body guard/escorts. when you think about Homelander's birthday speech, the attitude really falls in line. if they're planning to continue the show without Homelander (boooooo), his death would absolutely martyr him to the supe army he's apparently raising. death is a flattering color on public figures. while I don't think the show is headed for full on apocalyptic war (they don't seem to have the budget for that lol) i do think the divide is going to grow more intense than just Starlighters vs Hometeamers. the crazy thing being that most humans don't even realize the supe revolution is afoot.
it's not a matter of politics anymore. hundreds ( if not thousands ) of children (who're adults now) have been abused, experimented on and exploited. we're headed for a major upheaval, and Homelander is the king at the center of it.

Ok, now I'm not sure which is funnier. She IS his biokid, but he refuses to explain, or she isn't, & Aizawa's like, "I know we said no more kids, but I ran into a literal cat child that can also erase Quirks by staring really hard, I felt that was probably a universal sign." (Legit explanation is probably either Quirk related, or EraserMic actually wanted another kid, went through surrogacy, & just forgot to tell anyone.)
Honestly given my headcanons for the reproductive capablities in this family, it'd be pretty hard to bullshit their way into a legit bio kid. So 'I found a kid and she's ours now' is on the table.

Holy crap gen z we are literally the latest example of a generation that was screwed over by the previous ones. Start being smarter and NOT fall into the trap of thinking the next generation sucks just because they’re younger and grow up a little different and maybe, I dunno, actually help them become better if you hate them so much considering they’re only like 5 and will only become worse if we treat them like shit????

This is something you all collectively need to understand about the trope of the Gen Xr who read Stephen King or VC Andrews despite not being allowed to, or "this is why we are the way we are," etc. Also, 70s-80s kid and young adult stuff goes HARD. The culture was legitimately different. This was normal reading for middle school. Everyone I knew was reading Stephen King at age 12. This isn't something that adults thought was abnormal, that kids did anyway, unless we're talking a religious family. No, it's just what we were reading. And the advanced readers moved on to classics and in general, adult work, relatively quickly and it was VERY hard to go from reading the hard-ass themes in Twain and Dickens and Dumas and Steinbeck to reading contemporary kids' work. (I graduated from classic lit to sci fi.) Also, much less stuff was written for a gender silo like it is now, even by the male writers. EVERYONE read Stephen King.
This was just normal. It was the culture. This was massively shared culture with other Gen Xrs and also with Jones and Boomers. No Gen Xr reading Stephen King was really doing anything ABNORMAL and we didn't think of ourselves as "sneaking" anything unless we were from *that* type of family. This was simply shared culture of the 80s.

I've been seeing some ppl talk abt this and now I'm curious. Do you think children's content has gotten more "mindless" or detrimental since you were a kid?
In the options, "have experience with children" means things such as having younger siblings or children of your own, being a teacher, etc., and for this poll I'm defining "children's content" as content made for or targeted towards preteens and younger. Although I'm specifically thinking about TV and YouTube, all children's content is applicable (IE books, movies, games, etc).
(To be clear this is mostly just for my curiosity, not out of a "argh kids these days/back in my day/modern content is shit" type of thing /gen). As always, feel free to add infinite nuance and personal experience in the notes, and reblog for a bigger sample size if you feel so inclined :D

Really enjoy the theory that Sonic x Shadow Generations was named that way so that search results would show the game instead of Sonadow
This is particularly because of how much more Sonadow fanart/edits/fanfics I've been seeing as of late BECAUSE of the title LMAO

From losing a parent to losing a child - it has been too hard for the Kim's lately
Celeste never thought she would bear a child naturally - however, it wasn't easy! Over the past weeks, she didn't know she was pregnant not until she needs to rush to the hospital
Unfortunately, she had a miscarriage :( This made her thought that maybe she and Charlton are blessed to have only their twins - those two little bugs are enough for them!
Charlton re-assured his wife and supported her decision to not get pregnant again - it was too hard to lose another child
On their house - Celeste has dedicated a place for her child - Dylan Kim
