while i'm thinking wildly about everything and anything, constantine's concept of faith is???? so nebulous to me. i know he doesn't have any, but it's hard to determine if he wants it, if he's ever believed in anything in a way that aligns with faith, if there was a loss of it or a growth in it or if it's been a void for as long as he can remember, etc.
however it started, i think the reason he doesn't have faith now is because he has seen time and time again that everyone — divine, mundane, infernal, fey, god, demigod, whatever — is united in their ability to be and act stupid. he's seen an archangel hobknob with mobsters, he's seen an angel hide an illegitimate pregnancy, he's tricked satan i think five fucking times, he's conned / blackmailed gods across multiple pantheons . . . he has seen so many constructs that people worship as absolute falter and fumble and fail with his own eyes, that he can never be arsed to even try having faith in any of them. at this point, the only difference it makes to him if you're divine or not is how blatantly rude he can be to you and get away with it.
i do think he kind of wants to have faith in something, though? he's hopeful at heart, despite the cynicism; he does desperately want better for himself and for the world, for people to be better. but he needs proof that whoever he puts his faith in would actually do something to better the world, actually care, actually try, and what he gets is the worst of humanity, the worst of divinity, the worst of the infernal, and the worst in himself, over and over again.
#( ooc. ) OUT OF CIGS.#constantine vc: no gods no kings just fucking fools#i think this is partially why he falls in love so hard when he Does fall in love#no faith in deities but he can have faith in a single person who's proven that it will matter to them#anyway i am. very tired this may not make sense#but do we see the Outline of the vision at least#everyone is human-like with human motivations to him unless actively displaying otherwise#everyone is selfish and capable of being stupid until they act otherwise#i'll come back to this later sdjkdsl the brain ain't braining#anyway the only divine anybody he has real faith in is handgiven's emmanuel so jot that down <3#and asteritm ofc some gods are worth it

after watching Smough's video about Miquella, i'd like to supplement the video with a bit of my own take based on it, as well as personal findings:
-St. Trina and Miquella may have shared one body because of having been born of a single-bodied Rebis/God. this is an ability only demonstrated by Marika and not even Malenia seems to demonstrate this.. perhaps because her curse to Rot is the reason for her lack of personal identity; she does not have an identity to project other than what she is, due to her affliction. in the current age, all she has been doing is dreaming(*) and awakens promptly when we arrive; likely to the only movement of air she's felt in ages
-with mention of Tarnished Archaeologist's detail about Michaelangelo's diagram of the human, you see that that can then be placed into a five pointed star. i believe it lends at least some creedence to its relation to the image i had shared; the inverted star symbolizing a horned goat, or oftentimes Baphomet- likely a signal of Messmer's presence as something *inherent* to the Golden Order; without the current Elden Ring there would be no Order but the current Order hides a serpent at the Central Intersection, which seems to represent Messmer. Baphomet was/is a pagan cult deity who represents balance and neutrality, and is almost always depicted doing a gesture signifying "as above; so below"; he is even labeled as half-human, half-animal, male and female, good and evil. he is referred to as a man but is essentially every binary set in balance; even seen as both a deity and a demon.
Literally anything not set into a binary in Elden Ring *confounds and terrifies* followers of the Golden Order. it in fact worries Corhyn so deeply that he refuses to believe Goldmask as he grovels in the ashes of the Erdtree; honestly, he looks like he's about to go mad. one of the biggest revelations in the entire game is premised around breaking a binary that was never proven to be binary at all.
in other words, the entire Golden Order is based in dichotomies and binaries, and there is a fundamental flaw in that regard, because it disregards the individual and non-binary aspects of The World to force them into a simple mold that was going to fall with time anyway
like with Gwyn's plight in dark souls, it was never about the people, it was about preventing a coming age and clinging onto whatever control, by preserving the current one forever.
As i've stated many times before, I think Miquella is the physical body and the original entity of Faith while St. Trina is a Lunar Reflection (the Albedo, or an Animus in Jungian Psych) and the hero and protector of the people she often envisions herself as. Messmer residing in the shadow realm represents a deep seated truth within miquella- a sort of "cognitive rubedo" if you will or a "truth of the mind" that he hates as much as others fear and that nobody wants found. part of this truth is marika's fault but has left miquella with a personal guilt that has torn at him so badly that eventually, a shadow of himself tore away and became its own monster from within. with the shadow realm being physically separated from the lands between, it is likely that they are a cognitive realm of marika's, of sorts, as well now.
Marika herself had this shadow hidden away, and this presents rather well because we know that there was a long period after the night of black knives that marika was still active and likely becoming more distraught. on top of this, it is within Jungian psychology that one's anima and animus come to them in dreams.it is also true that a shadow persona is borne of a conflict tearing at one's conscious until it becomes its own entity.

CHARACTER HOOKS
Loyal Lemure: Whether you’re personally acquainted with the Lemures or just in need of their services, Xandrian makes no secret of his association. Chances are he can help you, too, so don’t be shy. Just don’t ask him to tarnish his organization’s name.
Former Garlean Conscript: He holds no love for anyone in support of the Garlean empire. Should you count yourself as someone like that, expect him to consider you an enemy from the get-go. However, were you to disapprove of the empire’s trajectory no matter your heritage, you already have some common ground—even more so if you yourself have gotten trampled by the Garleans at one point or another.
From One Reaper to Another: Binding yourself to a voidsent... Smart business, isn’t it? As a wielder of the scythe, Xandrian has some rather intimate familiarity with the matter, and were you one who shared in the practice, he’d be likely to think you a kindred spirit until proven otherwise.
A Sometimes Peaceful Artisan: Although a mercenary by day and night both, Xandrian does make time for his hobbies too. A woodworker of years on end, he’s started to get rid of the rust by now and sells his creations in the markets every now and then. Something catch your eye, maybe? He takes commissions, too.
Racial Bonds: Golmore Jungle is long behind him, but he still holds his kind in regard. Don’t expect him to start with animosity if you have ears like his, but do expect him to approach unprompted—or welcome your approach, if you beat him to it.
OUT OF CHARACTER
Mun is located in Northern Europe.
Discord is available if we’re planning to rp together.
As a general rule there’s nothing I'm entirely unwilling to write, but let’s discuss everything and make sure we’re on the same page. I’m also cognizant of in-character consequences and might refuse to rp something as a result.
I mostly write in a single timeline, but I’m not completely opposed to canon-compliant AUs.

Behind The Scenes of The Cursed Heiress: Expanding My Worldbuilding
Hello, loveys! Because of No Content November, I haven’t posted much... this school year requires a lot of my time and I barely have time to write, that and attend my social life.
But I’ve had time to expand some of my writing and I thought: I have this saga which world is a whole new and they must be confused about many things!
So here, under the cut, I bring you the whole scene of Joanna’s world.
1. History
Many historians say that The Eight Holy Covens were the first supernatural race ever created by Lilith, Adam’s first wife, as a way to keep her legacy. There is indeed some truth in it: Lilith was unable to carry her own children, so she created the witches and wizards on her very own image- beautiful, powerful, untamed and immortals. She created the first couple, Stella and Draco, the first witches to ever exist, long before the Titans rose. They created magic together, created their children together. It is said that their daughter, Celeste, invented dark magic, but it is still unsure how she could’ve done that so young and magic still so recent.
Witches and wizards were once the channel between the High Deities and humanity. They were sacred creatures for many millenniums, untouchable and powerful, for it was only the beginning of those creatures.
In the starting of the Middle Ages, it was a tragic time to be a witch. Thousands were hidden outlaws or burned at the stakes. Between those outlaws, the Crochanes, the descendants of Celeste and her husband, Scorpius, were outlaws in the 1300s. They exiled themselves to what it’d be a century later “America” that was by then called Aranckerland, known as The Land of the Stars. They lived there in peace with its citizens and even got along very well, learning from the other’s religions and beliefs, seeking knowledge and growth together.
Odessa, who was now almost 400 years old, left to build the empire of witches in another dimension. She was still young, but she was powerful and gifted, just as beautiful and ambitious. The King said himself they needed someone juvenile and bright to build an empire. So they fought against the darkest of the creatures and there, they created it. The most rich, beautiful and strong citadel this world has ever known. During the next century, they made Odessa a Commander of Arms and she fought bravely against the Spanish invasion of their dear friends, but even she couldn’t stop the genocide, the rape, the killing, the slavery… she watched, helpless, powerless and angry. How dare they? To destroy something so beautiful, so ethereal and just as valid as their religion? Why indoctrinate an already educated, respectable land? She prayed someone, someday, would tell the true story as she watched how the destroyed centuries of work. But she also made a promise: no one would forgive The Land of Stars.
In the 1500s and 1600s, the citadel of the Circle thrived at its best. Even though the Crochanes were no longer royalty, they were still respected and feared among them. They were friends with the Bourbon dynasty of France and the House Romanov of Russia, although they still didn’t forgave the Spanish and English for what they did to the poor natives. They claimed themselves Pro-Natives and practised the fight against colonialism and dreaded the Creoles. They killed, tortured and hunted down many of those who were proud of what they did to the natives and then sent their decapitated heads to the monarchs.
On 1635, Queen Amalas had a premonitory dream: she had found her longed heir.
It was then a time of war for them: fairies, werewolves, vampires, and mermaids against the witches. During two centuries, they fought and destroyed, creating the biggest blood bath they have ever seen, thing that affected the human world. Odessa had been fighting for too long restlessly, always with an outstanding faith for her Goddess’ cause.
Amalas came to her in 1703, telling her that she’d bear the most important future monarch of all times. She was surprised, called off guard and a bit scared. She had many lovers, but she was sterile. How come would she bring a little bundle to the world?
During the wars, many unspeakable things happened: Maids were violently raped, children were sent to war, witches had divided because of politics, vampires were tortured in the sun... A complete mass of death. During the last 10 years of war, the elders of each faction reunited and discussed how to bring peace to this world. It was in 1734 when Odessa's father suggested to create someone powerful enough to hold the war forever and bring peace to the combating war. Odessa was 690 something years. He offered his daughter to remove her immortality for a decade, give her to a human family and the task to look for the perfect man to conceive her baby. They all agreed. The agreement of the creation of a God was made. During that decade, Mary walked on earth with the Mills family, a family that was a secret advocate of the supernatural world: Mr. Mills was a retired Nighthunter. She met Vincent and soon they conceived Joanna. She told them that it was time before everything went down.
Soon, all the leaders of the supernatural factions came to court to give the future heir their blood. Syringes of the blood were injected in her womb: Gaius, Lord Elric, King Apollo of the Wizards and Witches, the Queen's husband, King Neptune the XIII of the Mermaids and Mermen and Ebezener, Alpha Supreme of the werewolves. They all swore that they'd protect the heir and God of peace and teach them everything about each world. But everything went down. The treatment was divided when Joanna was born, for many thought that a woman wasn't strong enough to carry such role and many other feared of the mortals' wrath on Mary and how bad things went down to Earth.
The elders packed the necessary to Odessa to raise her daughter as a half-blood until it all sorted out. Meanwhile, she'd raise herself as an heiress with a voluntary wizard, Elias. They found Grovershire and the heiress grew up mostly there.
2. Life at the Circle.
Life isn’t perfect at the Circle, but it is economically, socially and politically far more advanced and equal than many mortal countries. But let’s focus on the regular life on the 90% of the population: witches with no titles but enough fortune to have a living. This society is mostly focused on other kind of riches apart of money, such as original food, special diets, knowledge, an accessible workplace and protection of minorities.
While no fortune is the same, it is enough to make a living and the monetary equality is still looking for a reasonable balance, but it is the paradise compared to planet earth. Families who are jobless or in a job hunt/recent entrepreneurs are given 1000 Solaires (the currency in the Circle) and those single/widowed mother or matriarchs in general are aided the needed help, especially when they surpass the 790 years of age, for one is already a candidate elder when they’re 867 years old. When they’re 210 and/or 301 years, they’re considered what the humans consider being on your middle twenties and when you’re 400/640 years you’re on your 30s/40s.
Meanwhile, with mermaids the age goes further. Many historians calculate a mermaid’s average life can be of 3700 years, while vampires can live as they like and werewolves can only live 95 years and faeries live for 600 years. Witches live for 1000 years.
There are nobles and monarchs, however, the people only rely on them on three things: the thriving of the people, stability between realms and security, for if the monarchy is abolished, the powerful army will fall, for every soldier is linked it its master or the heir of the throne.
The science, technology and humanism are important to hold the population, for when other creatures visit, it’s the art, buildings and culture what makes the country so rich, instead of making money at all costs. Healthcare, education that reaches everyone, dignity of the subject, equality and protection of the children and specially the innocent until proven guilty are basic rights that it must be respected. Those who break those rights will be persecuted and depending of the grade of gravity of the situation, it can come from 45 years of jail to execution. Nobles, beggars, outcasts… they are people who bleed and die the same, no one is better than anyone. Outlaws are treated as what they are, no matter their standing, popularity or power; it is a big shame to turn on your deities and people and treason is a serious crime and if the proof is enough, the sentence is one worse than death: The Mirror Chamber, where you sit in a chair that makes you watch a mirror for the rest of your life the pain you’ve caused and would’ve caused should the traitor succeed. Many don’t last more than a year there, for the pain caused is unbearable.
3. Rules
You will not mistreat anyone. You don’t like someone? It is your problem, hate of any sort – bullying, stalking, etc- is persecuted and properly punished.
Paedophilia, grooming, domestic violence that aims to children, etc, is persecuted and punished gravely, for children are sacred to them, sooner or later the population will rely on them and they must be sane and stable, they are the future.
Forced marriage or marrying off someone against their will isn’t persecuted, but instead frowned upon, for they view marriage as the union of two soulmates for as long as they live. The economy is good enough to maintain a family or a person on their own.
Murder and torturing isn’t very grave, but still shamed on people who don’t give reasonable motives to kill someone. You must ask the regnant monarch to murder someone and give them a motive: they committed a crime, they murdered someone without permission, etc. Excuses such as “Because he/she is mine, because she wants to take my kids away, because she wants to sue me, etc” will be disapproved and the petitioner will be placed in a list that will be public later as convivence offenders who everyone should be aware and stay away for safety.
If a citizen offends the basic rules of convivence, they will exile them in shame and will notify the other reigns.
4. Etiquette
You will address any citizen as they wish, as long as it is followed by the laws of the citadel. If someone wishes to be addressed as My Lord, he/they, Ma’am, Ms., or any other nickname that isn’t offensive or a slur, you will address them as such. Mispronouncing someone or disrespect someone’s choice of addressing will be fined with 1050 Solaires.
If you wish to divorce someone, you must explain the situation at court: it is not working anymore, I cannot stand them, they are bad parent or a bad spouse, etc and there will be a lord or lady of company that will watch over a week how the petitioner lives with the spouse -always respecting boundaries, of course- and after debating for exactly 2.5 hours, it will be granted with liberty or with some conditions that fit the situation (numerous family, economical issues that concerned both spouses, illness, old age, caring for a child that is less than 21 years, etc)
There are many others, but this are the basic ones.
5. Geography
As you can see, there are some strange names that I will explain to you now. Let’s start from West to East.
Neropolis, the land of water: The home of the mermaids, its reign is the biggest one for not even the king knows how much territory he owns. All the creatures of the sea live there, although the regnant race are the mermaids for being dinstictive relatives to the homo sapiens, alonsgide Icaria, their so beloved home on earth where they can be without humans disturbing them. They are also buried there, for Icaria means The Land of the Fallen”.
The Holy White Mountains: One of the sacred places where religious people or released criminals seek wisdom, connection with their deities and even redemption. It is called like that because it’s always winter in there. There is the soul of the Frost Queen whose tomb is so cold that everyone dies frozen before reaching its gates. The one who disturbs the tomb will be cursed forever and its offprings will follow with horrid curses until one of the same bloodline completes the quest of forgiveness of the queen, a myth that I’ll gladly tell you about if you ask.
The Scarlett Vale: An ominous place where it is known that dark wizards and the most hideous creatures live there, for it’s hell in a dimension, but not a Hell dimension. The worst criminals of the Five Realms are sent there to a fate worst than death.
The Holy Dracarian Empire: Named after the first wizard Draco, it is the country of the Circle and sacred lands to wizards, witches and outcats of the human world. City where Joanna was born and founded by her own great-grandparents.
The Sacred Forests: A now nice place, it is a place of pilgrimage and devout worship. Many small villages host religious parties of all sorts and give a safe haven for those who want to dedicate their lives to their religion, for it is said that the Gods founded the realms in there.
Republic of Selenia: The city of those who posses magic but don’t want any master, the small republic is a place where magic owners live their lives in the most independant and unapologetical life.
Nebulia: A small kingdom where the wizards dedicated to the stars and skies and worshippers of Zeus and those deities related to the skies and astrology sek counsel on the deities and dedicate their life to raw wisdom and vows such as chastity, isulation and devotion to the life there.
The Roads of the Gods: It’s the place where the buildings, temples, etc are built, designed and approved. There are more than 4500 roads blessed by the Gods and it is said that if the creation survives the journey outside these lands, it means that the Gods approve of this creation and it’s safe to build them.
Lamrian: We know what Lamrian is, but I’ve taken the liberty to make some headcanons of mine: they are a bit more ancient than the witches and wizards and most of the arts come from them. They are known to know the full truth of why the angels, demons and gods were created, but keep it to themselves. They are the wisest kingdom and the most dangerous to trifle, for the most dangerous enemy is the one who owns time and knowledge.
Bathoria: The land of Blood, it is the land where the most bloody-thisrty creatures rule in there. It is the place that, if you go, you’ll die, for it’s filled with blood and bones of its victims. All of the realms are forbidden to go there and not even someone as powerful as Joanna can go there, for she might come back too late (three days in there is 300 years on earth) and in its epicenter, it is said that the gate to Hell lies in there and only Lucifer himself can make it there without dying.
Arboria: The land of the trees, it’s the land where the Faeries reside, for its purity and neatness is so beautiful for them, they want to be there forever. While most faes live in Lamrian, the devout religious ones decide to go there to live a life away from court, trouble and battle. They worship their gods of nature and practise freely magic. It is known that many of the left dragons live there and some Dragon Tamers live with them so the order of nature is not disturbed.
The Ruby Valleys: Yet another place most of the people never advise to go, it is their own magical, deadly Chernobyl. Its jewels are beautiful, but just as poisonous. While a human could die at three miles of walk, an immortal can only last 10 days. There are some ancient metals that equal to the whole earth consumed by fossils at its best, not to mention that they lack of plants, which means any living thing never decomposes and it worsens the conditions there.
I: The Major Citadel- Where the wealthier, luckier people live, it is the living image of a 1940s square. There are many pretty things, a fountain and better paved walks, for they are made with the best material (it was built in 1639) and it’s the zone that never sleeps, for in the Major Citadel there are many events going on.
2: The Major States- Where the Holy Noble Houses reside, they are the most luxurious states one can find, for every century its owners renew it and it has many things of each trend and culture. The Crochane state and the Fleureis are the most luxurious ones, for both families are the most ancient. Many families appeared in the 478 BC.
3: The Minor Citadel- Where most of the population lives, it is the equal image of a small town that happens to be a few miles away of a big city. Separated by the river Waveless Rill, their houses are very similar to small villages chalets and people live modestly there, with enough money to mantain themselves and happy and content with their lives.
4: Poseidon’s Docks- Where most ships from other dimensions and other cities in the whole Empire come by, the 37% of the citadel’s riches is from what comes from their ships and the people who look for quality lives in the citadel, perhaps a second chance.
5: The Queen’s Castle- Where the King and Queen live for most of their time, it is perhaps the grandest masterpiece of the founders of the citadel: all made by dedicated workmanship of diamond, gold and the very same white rock the Parthenon was built with, with some of ruby of the Ruby Valleys in its towers in case of invasion and its insides made of sapphire, the strongest crystal and magic for thirty-three empires and the best armory and the most elegant and expensive royal bedchambers (its price is incalculable!) any human could see, it is not just a beautiful castle, but a forte in case anyone wishes to invade, for their canyons have powder made of the grounds of Bathoria and their bullets are made with Joanna’s blood alongside knives crafted in breath of a dragon, it could even kill temporarily the most powerful of the Gods. It is estimated that while building this castle, out of 2M builders, 99,67K builders died and only 2K builders survived. The rest were driven into madness out of excessive toxicity.
6. Politics
In 1256 it was approved that everyone should be treated with dignity, respect and a right to decide over their own life as long as it didn’t offend the convivence.
In 1493 it was approved that any mistreated human who was aware of the supernatural beings existence wanted to seek refuge in the citadel, either for their sex, situation, religion, origin, etc, should be granted and provided any need.
In 1616, they acknowledged and approved the Law Of Protection of Girls and Women and in 1696, they derogated the law of sending children to work and give them proper education and formation, and in 1704, the first female congresswoman Nya Crochane made happen the law that derogated violence against outcasts (such as prostitutes, criminals, etc) and should they want to leave their life before, an education focused on that group would be given, and in the case of unwanted prostitution, the woman would choose whether to keep working with the rights of a registered and rightfully protected or choose another path or either have an euthanasia if she found herself old. In 1767, the government approved of persecuting those who committed hate crimes against minorities (women, children, disabled people, elder people…).
In 1797, the Holy Coventus was created so the monarchs who created Vunera would decide the next step to the peace and thriving of the nation.
In 1801 it was agreed that anyone who mistreated people for their race, ethnicity or situation of birth would be severely punished.
In 1816 women could abort and emancipate from the Circle, as always as they swore not to reveal themselves to the human world. The sexualities were accepted and homosexual marriage was approved in all places: temples, civil, with a chosen priest/priestess…
Transsexuality was approved in 1837 and its laws started to function three months later with all the care and needs accessible to anyone.
7. Heraldry
There is an exact order, not of succession, but in general to keep a court in order, for it’s the court’s duty to keep the realm standing and thriving, looking forward to the future.
In this order of importance and duties of each member of the court:
Holy Priest/Priestess: They are sacred as the Pope, but they do not own his privileges or riches. They’re normally far more modest and only focused on being the voice of the Goddess and keep the faith standing and make sure not to make the same mistake as Christianism’s indoctrinating.
The Seven Elect Elders alias “The Elders: They are normally chosen by the people to give counsel to the monarch and those who seek their wisdom. When named Elder, you live other thousand years with a painful and private ritual where one must vow to their holy book and have a sacred place. They are chosen six days after a monarch’s death or abdication.
The King and Queen: They are the monarchs and the voice of their people, but they are not as important as the nobles or the specialized politicians. They sign treats and give messages and provide heirs, normally this goes to the Queen -she can bear children and still not be the heirs of the throne- or she can decide be childless and their elect heir is not from her own womb. They are far more free than mortal queens and hardly questioned. As for the King, he normally takes part in raising the heir and keeping sane the ascending soldier, the citadel and must consult with his consort about affairs of state or he could be accused of obstruction to the authority, whether if he’s also of royal blood or not.
Grand Dukes and Duchesses, Dukes and Duchesses, High Earls and Countesses and Earls and Countesses: They are normally the ones who participate on the heir’s upbringing and if they have children, from their womb or not, to raise them alongside the heir, for -despite their sex- they will be their knights alongside them and until their end of reign or death.
Marquis and Marquesses, Viscounts and Viscountesses and Barons: Normally the ones to spread wisdom and education, just as awareness and make sure everyone’s political and military concerns are heard by the monarchs and the elders.
Lords and Ladies, untitled rich-men and proteges of the nobility: They are the politicians of the people. Among almost 500 lords and ladies and rich men and women, 250 are chosen to direct 134 on the Chamber of Decisions and the Ministry of The Covens. The others gather taxes, are counsellors or are given another role should they desire it. They end up being the people’s servants (psychologists, doctors, etc).
You want to ascend in society? Good, I love your ambition. Allow me to show you how:
There are three ways to ascend in society.
1: Gain a noble’s protection and favour.
2: Be the hot talk of the people—the nobles are known for being curious about regular people who stand out of the others and can give a lot to society, they will usually put them on the monarch’s ear and if they please everyone and prove they can do good to the society, they ascend with a ceremony of transition.
3: Gain the heir’s trust and fondness. The heir is the precious jewel of the empire and someone who proves again and again that they are the heir’s most ardent and loyal servant, it can give them a big position at court.
Religion in the Circle: Can I be Muslim, Catholic, etc and live where everyone worships someone else and practise witchcraft?
Of course you can! In one of the laws, it is said that anyone who seeks safe harbour of the Circle and respect everyone’s beliefs and is a good citizen, no matter how different they are from the other, you could be worshipping a goat for all they care. Live, let the others live and be a good person and you can live with us in peace. Accept that there isn’t one “superior” religion and that indoctrinate everyone to follow one way, the same laws and lifestyle is wrong.

TAFAKKUR: Part 273
A DEAD END FOR SCIENCE OR A CALL TO THE CREATOR
The scientists of the world have been engaged in solving the problem of deciphering the so-called human genome during the last few decades. At the turn of the millennium the genetic map had finally been deciphered in general. Nevertheless, classic genetics and all of the more recent research efforts in biology, biochemistry, physiology and some inter-disciplinary methodologies have found themselves, it could be said, at a dead end. But this is only a dead end if we fail to recognize that we are all governed by a single supreme intellect, by the Divine Providence, Who voices His Will by means of the Words.
The name of God is different in different languages of the world and in the minds of those who accept the Creator as the only God; the Christians, Muslims, Jews and other believers, around 60-70% of the global population. Yet this name corresponds for them with the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Qur’an. In all these instances, there is a Holy Word, in one form or another. The task of every believer is to recognize the very form that the Creator uses to call His Creation. This is a personal issue that originates from the religion that one worships.
So, what is the problem that faces genetics at the beginning of the 3rd millennium and how does it correspond with the Creator’s expressed will and His call to us?
It is here where there is a prospect for a remarkable breakthrough in knowledge, if only… This “if only” can be connected to academic achievements and issues.
In fact, over the last three or four years scientists have discovered by very sophisticated means and through careful research that the genetic code that governs the human body-and, in a broader sense, everything that is alive in Nature-accounts for no more than 1% of the DNA molecular length of the structure that determines the development of all living species. This discovery was as shocking for scientists as the deciphering of the genetic code had been. They concluded that the genetic programming occurred in the DNA molecular “free zone.” Here, scientists-among them the Russian naturalists A.G. Gurevitch and V.I. Vernadskiy, who some 50-70 years ago claimed that a purely materialistic understanding of the gene was the limit to which non-believing science could go-were proven to be right.
The new discoveries are most certainly related to the emergence of such sophisticated physical instruments as the laser, holography, sol tonics and even powerful computers. Modern technology has proved, without a doubt that the program in space and time for the creation of the human organism is not based on random accident, but rather is predetermined from “above.” The protein molecules and the amino acids that comprise the gene (to date, more than twenty different types of amino acids have been discovered) are placed in a particular order. A single fitting lock-and-key relation exists in the composition of the genetic code components. In addition, it has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the genetic code of species that live on the Earth has not changed in three billion years, i.e., there is no room to talk about evolution, the principal postulate of materialists. Then, who or what has created the origin for everything that exists today on our planet several billion years after the creation of the Earth?
Then there is another puzzle: Why does the genetic code have such a small place, only taking up 1% of the DNA?
Scientists in Russia have learned that 99% of DNA-which was previously considered to be useless-hides within itself the so-called “genetic computer” that comprises the programs needed to make living organisms into a variety of species and these mask the genetic features that are unique to a particular species. It is not completely clear how the mechanism of this so-called genetic computer works, but it does work. The concept of a holographic mechanism for the storage, transference, and recovery of information was developed as the result of an experiment.
Scientists took a freshly cut leaf, chopped off part of it, and put this between two slides and two photo plates. As the picture developed, it became clear that the leaf was depicted whole. In short, an idea or a phantom had been photographed. These first experiments were conducted in Russia in the 1960s.
Russian, American, and British genetic scientists continuously repeated the experiment, taking phantom photographs of different objects, and came to the conclusion that science was dealing with a multidimensional picture of the leaf, or its hologram.
Based on this, some other puzzles were solved. The “genetic computer” manages the development of holograms by means of special static waves, called sol tones (the name sol tonics, a special scientific branch, is derived from this term) that function in the DNA embryo cells.
Scientists have long since established that out of one single fertilized ovule other ovules start to instantly develop, as if on command; these are responsible, for instance, for making bone, muscle, nerve and other systems within the human body. And over this totally material process there floats a totally immaterial phantom that dictates and shows the embryo the way to develop.
In other words, there is a certain image according to which development proceeds. The DNA is the text that controls this creation, with its inherent rules of composition; it is possible to perceive the DNA as being made up of letters, i.e. a word. At first there was the Word! This is a quote from the Bible. In Islam, Almighty Allah gave the Word by means of the Qur’an (reading) to Muhammad. A phrase from the Qur’an describes the above process in an amazingly simple and pertinent way:
It is He Who fashions you in the wombs as He will. There is no deity but He, the All-Glorious (with irresistible might), the All-Wise. (Al Imran, 3:6)
The Word of the Creator, according to which the genome “works,” is registered with greater security in the bio-system apparatus. It will only disappear in conjunction with the last of the human beings. This may be the very idea behind what is called the Day of Judgment, or Doomsday in Islam and other religions.
In the context of Einstein’s principles of a single field theory, as well as in Shipov’s physical vacuum theory, it may be possible to find clarification of the phenomenon, when in one case a wave matrix (copy) remains “clean,” but distorted in another.
It is worth discussing here those things that have already been proven. The programs written in the DNA cannot have emerged as a result of simple evolution, in the very least as, due to the huge volume of information contained here, the time required would have exceeded the time that the Universe has existed, that is around 15 billion years. We have established an approximate time that would be required for the genetic transformations that determine the essence of human beings to occur. It is substantially less…
Another study has been carried out that does not fit into the traditional materialistic frames. It seems that the internal structural information of DNA alone is not enough to develop an accurate replica of the image organism from the composition of the protein elements. Numerous experiments carried out by Russian scientists (in particular, from the Moscow Scientific and Cardiology Center) have proved that a frog embryo that has been purposefully protected to a great degree from external influences, distorts, suffering from malformation and finally dying. This means that a DNA has to be connected-maybe by means of sol tones waves or other contacts still unknown to us-with an “external source” that guides the genome-bio-computer work from somewhere in Space. One cannot but recall Muhammad here, the last of the Greatest Prophets, who categorically rejected the possibility of not only seeing, but even imagining the Almighty.
There are few people who still argue about the existence of the soul. The time when the soul departs from the body has been well-documented by scientists, doctors, and naturalists. As a matter of fact, the soul emerges when the heart cells die, that is, when the organism as a whole dies. It is at this time that a certain phantom of the genetic apparatus is formed, similar to the one described above in the phenomenon of the phantom leaf. It is interesting to contemplate the idea that the phantom of a human genetic apparatus that has lost their life by force would possess a high biological reaction and would therefore be in a position to distort and destroy any healthy molecules that may be close by. One cannot but recall the imperative ban on killing the innocent that is contained both in the Old Testament and the Qur’an, a call to leave retaliation to Him and to Him only.
In conclusion to my brief essay on the necessity of belief in today’s science, the common scientific way tries to explain “how,” but it fails to answer the question of “why” that lies behind the mystery of existence. Any scientific approach rejecting faith is doomed to fail; for faith is an inherent need for us. The belief in Him, the Single and Almighty, is genetically programmed. In a hadith reported in Sahih al-Bukhari, God’s Messenger states that every person is born in the primordial nature (fitra) of Islam.
Here, at the beginning of the 3rd millennium, at the height of our scientific achievements, we have come to understand God as a natural phenomenon. We must follow His guidance and not distort the Word or the Image of love that has been implanted by the Creator in our genetic code with mindless acts and evil speeches.

Salem ou alekoum fellow disbelievers,
I decided to write this story down because one of my friends is currently questioning Islam. She said it might be a good idea for me to share my journey to help her and others find inner peace once you have walk out of something you grew up thinking was correct. I think I will make this a 2-3 parts series depending on interest and how she deals with just part 1. There's a lot to go through, and I will try to be brief, but I do not mind elaborating on any section in the comments or private. I am very open and confident about who and what I am. Finally, I want to have at least one part dedicated to my current worldview with the hopes of helping you guys create your moral landscape.
Finally, I would like to complete this preface by saying that I know that we all have personal reasons for leaving a Religion. Some of you have left the faith because you felt as though it was too controlling; others may have felt that God was simply too cruel. I will say that in the end, those were not the deciding factors for me. In my view, only Truth matters. Therefore, for me to stop believing in a concept, it merely has to be proven untrue, whether scientifically or logically. So my journey of leaving Islam did not originate because I had problems with its takes on the world. They occurred in large part because I feel as though Islam is inconsistent with our understanding of the natural world. Given the purpose of writing this is to help people, and that most people don't make decisions based on logic, I will try and emphasize how events and not thoughts affected my worldview to help illustrate how and when the transition occurred.
1. Humble beginnings: I know everybody has a different upbringing, so I would like to give you guys some context of how familiar I was with Islam growing up as a child (4-12). For starters, I am the eldest son of first-generation Algerian immigrants to Canada. This is just to tell you I'm brown, and I went to a school surrounded by non-muslims. In school, I was a troublemaker. I was basically this brainy kid who cared so little of rules and norms that I was almost transferred to this school for a learning disability. In response, my dad would beat the shit out of me every day for not being an obedient student despite my grades being decent (during that period B to B+). Despite his sincerest efforts, I never learned or changed. I'm only saying this because it made Arabic school impossible for my parents to manage since I simply refused to do my regular homework from school. My thinking was something like this: "What's the point of going to ANOTHER school on the weekend and spend all of my time off doing pointless alphabetical exercises in a language no one other than my parents spoke?" This, in turn, limited my exposure to Islam since I didn't interact with other Muslim kids. Finally, my parents bestowed upon me few Islamic teachings or practices. For instance, I fasted, I didn't eat pepperoni pizza, I was a relatively good kid, and I knew of prayer. Still, it wasn't something we did in our household. So I basically ended up with the same amount of knowledge of Islam and Arabic as Mohammed did when he was visited by Gabriel.
2. The quest begins: By the time I reached 14, I began to change mentally (One would only hope). I had stopped being this rebellious kid and became a book worm. I read encyclopedias, watched documentaries, binged read Wikipedia and genuinely wanted to learn everything the world had to offer. Therefore, religion seemed like the next logical step. Another reason that pushed me to that position is my first adolescent trip to Algeria. It was the first time I had truly been exposed to Islam, and I felt like I got a good whiff of what it meant to be a Muslim. And so, I decided I had now come of age and was of sufficient maturity to read the Quran and become a proper Muslim. I purchased a translated version of the Holy Book and waited until nightfall to open it. I vividly remember the mindset I put myself in before opening the book. I told myself the following things:
1. Bismillah. (YAH BOY) 2. I am about to read a book written by a being that is not human. (how fucking cool is that?!) 3. It is a book of ultimate and limitless knowledge and is the literal word of God. 4. It will guide me now and forever, for it is a timeless work meant to guide all of humanity.
By the time I made it halfway through Al-Baqarah, the second chapter of the book, I was mortified. For whatever reason, God presented himself as a terrifying merciless being. So many verses spoke about how powerful God was, and for some reason, it felt weird to me. It's almost like Bill Gates flaunting billions at a homeless person or a fisherman trying to shame a fish on how it cant breathe once it's out of water. I also felt as though too many verses spoke about eternal damnation instead of collective upbringing. In essence, it wasn't the book I expected. I was hoping for the key to save my soul and help humanity. All that ran through my head was that I was unworthy and had to dedicate myself or else face the consequences. But I persevered. Over the next few days, I kept reading while trying to keep an open mind, but I was definitely feeling perplexed. What I could not wrap my head around was the following: If God can indeed do anything, why can't he have a son? Like all this talk about how Powerful he is, but he can't have a son?
It was around this time I started to explore other religions. However, there were so many religions that existed that it would take an eternity to study and contemplate every single one. So I elaborated the following shortcuts:
1. I skipped Judaism because a "true" faith can't have fewer subscribers than the city of New York. That also threw a bunch of other religions out the window. In my view, a Divine being should do a good job of spreading his work even if he has to do it remotely. 2. I skipped polytheistic religions like Hinduism because multiple Gods seemed odd to me. 3. Buddhism didn't have a deity, can we, therefore, call it a religion?
By that flawless logic (lol), I thought that Christianity was likely to be the One True Faith. But there were inconsistencies. For starters, the faith had multiple subdivisions and multiple versions given the Bible was written after the life of Jesus. Suffice to say, I agreed with most Muslim criticisms towards Christianity's essence manipulated by men. If Christianity is the real deal, then God would have cared a little more. As a side note to my thinking, the book of Narnia really helped me appreciate Christianity. It portrayed a more merciful caring version of God that wanted what was best for his disciples and all that existed. Yet the feeling of a merciful and just God was simply not sufficient to make me convert.
And so I started to think about atheism. However, I could still feel the presence of God. In the end, I just felt discouraged. I wrapped my head around the whole thing when I realized there was a possibility I was simply too immature to understand Islam or the Quran. So, in the end, I decided to postpone my immersion in the faith until later.
3. I committed: By the time I reached 16, I had started rereading the Quran, which actually flowed better this time around. I was relieved to know that my 14-year-old self was simply too childish. Eventually, I stumbled upon a verse akin to the following: Oh, Believers look into the world, and you shall see evidence of Islam. It felt as though God challenged me to learn science and search for proof of his existence in the natural world. And so, I did.
So one thing that occurred to me growing up is that I wanted to learn everything. By the time I reached 12, I thought to myself that if I knew every word in the dictionary, I would end up knowing everything. But the dictionary was dull. So, I decided that if I know how all things came about by reading history, then I would end up knowing everything. So when I read that verse that said learn science, I was ecstatic. I just doubled down on my readings and started to focus more on scientific theories. I read about physics and the origin of the universe. I read on chemistry and the nature of matter and atomic bonds. By the time I reached biology, Darwinism quickly became very problematic. I thought really long and hard about how to counter it. I started to read into Intelligent Design and watched Islamic Scholars debate atheists. Still, it didn't make sense to me since the evidence for evolution was just overwhelming.
I voiced some of my concerns to a Muslim friend of mine in High School, and we had this long-winded conversation in which he convinced me he was right. I wish I remembered exactly what he said, but I remember him instilling upon me enough doubt to make me not drop the faith. Following that conversation, I decided it was time to commit to Islam finally. Here are a few things I started to do: 1. I started praying 5-7 times per day. 2. I read the Quran. 3. I would watch videos daily on what it meant to be a Muslim and how I can improve on my practice. 4. I would fast every once a while. 5. I went to the mosque whenever I could since it was far from where I lived. 6. I even helped start our prayer group in High School. In that group, we would all sit and eat together. We shared food, laughter and drinks. We were a brotherhood through and through, and for a time, it was good.
Reflecting on this period, I was one standard deviation from being in a CIA hit list. I literally messaged Benjamin Netanyahu on YT, encouraging him to stop his occupation of Palestine and to seak a peaceful approach when engaging with my brothers and sisters. Despite these friendly messages, some darker thoughts flowed through me. So I will say that there definitely is some credence to the idea that the more radical a Muslim is, the more you should worry about him, especially if he is a dude.
So when I say I genuinely believed 100% of what the Quran said, I really did. Some people will say: "Well, yea, I also used to be that way too." Well, I think I took it to another degree. For instance, when I used to walk, I would think to myself there are two people next to me—these immortal, holy beings made of light were sent by God to watch over my every move. I must, therefore, walk and behave in the utmost perfect ways to not only impress them but also uphold my honour. I was 16.
4.The Masturbation/sleep problem:
Now I'm going to say that the period mentioned above lasted about 6 months. During this period, despite my holier than thou behaviour, I was still a man, and I had urges dawg. Every once in awhile, i.e, once a week, I would lament hypothetically at my hypocrisy. Repression creates obsession; truer words have never been spoken. The more I fought my urges not to masturbate, THE MORE I HAD TO. I created this whole inner mathematical system based on the number 19 since its a particular Islamic number. Basically, I would only masturbate around times when I could calculate 19. To me, it meant God approved of my addiction. I ended up using the time since my alarm clock was next to me. Its such warped logic don't look too much into it for when there is a will there is a way and I can get creative. Here are a few noteworthy examples:
1.Its 1:09 AM. Shit that's 19 to me since all you have to do is ignore the 0, and you have 19. 2. Its 1:45 AM. You guessed it 19. 3.7:00 PM. 19. 4. 12:07 PM. Unzip. 5. 12:17. PM shit, that's 19 too. 12+(1 times 7). Guess its Time for round 2. 6. 12:35 PM. FUCK I have to again you see 1+2+35=38, which is 19 times 2. EYYYY
[Insert COOMER MEME.]
To get over this dissonance, the Devil was responsible for these intrusive thoughts. I was a holy man of God, after all. But the voice that told me to unzip my pants and wax my carrot was the EXACT same voice that told me to go bed when I didn't want too. In the end, I knew deep down temptation doesn't come from the Devil. It comes from me. I decide what I do with my life, not some off-world entity. Keep in mind for later its just this thing I noticed. The Mosque event: So the day started like any other Friday prayer. The Imam began to speak about how God has no equal. He went on about how great and awesome of a sky Chad he was. He said that although he had no equal, there was another being that was insanely powerful as well. My eyes lit up, for I loved Islamic lore. He said that among non-God entities, the strongest was Gabriel. Eventually, he went on to say how to associate any other thing to God's power was literally the worst crime a human could commit. Shirk was worse than murder, he said. It literally guarantees you a trip to Hell.
And so given that I was human when I am told not to think about something, I immediately start to think about it. So I began to think well what if Gabriel stood up to God. I do not know what came over me but I got a literal panic attack from this. [Insert meme it was at this moment he knew he fucked up]
As the Imam had so eloquently put it to associate anything to God, you just committed the worst sin ever. I kept trying to tell myself not to think about it. Still, it just kept repeating it over and over again despite my sincerest efforts. I legit left the mosque and went back home and prayed all night, hoping God would forgive me.
The next morning was wild. I was basically schizophrenic since I kept thinking God was going to smite me for I have sinned. Crossing the street was so hard since I felt God would turn a car invisible and run me over or would simply kill me there where I stood. I lived in utter fear since I felt as though I had a bounty on my head. The inner world that I worked so hard to create had fallen apart from stupid, intrusive, thoughts. How the mighty have fallen.
5.Rethinking the Conspiracies:
A few days later, I started to rethink everything inside my head once I started to calm down. I felt as though my fears were way too irrational for the type of person I usually am and that I could not regain my sanity by thinking I was unworthy. I just simply had to work my way back up to the top fam.
During this time, I also began to rethink my understanding of the political world. For starters, as far back as I can remember, I have always been anti-authority. I believed in political realism, and so large corporations or governments always used their powers to oppress others. And so, what began as a soft-hearted liberal who thought 911 was an inside job turned into a cult of devil worshippers who rule the world and are trying to get us into the End Times.
This political worldview of a small elite who use the Devil to gain off-world power was further validated my understanding of Islam. In my view, the END WAS NEAR. Eventually, people took my ideas and thoughts in High School, and it became its own thing. Just to give you context on the time here, but it was when Lady Gaga dropped Bad Romance, and Kanye West and Jay-Z dropped Watch The Throne. We would analyze the videos and look for satanic imagery, but I always felt like that was a tad bit too far. Why are they being so apparent about something that's supposed to be secret? Predictive-Programming can only go so far after all. I began to pushback on this worldview, and I went so far back that Islam was caught in the cross-fire.
This turned into a three-month-long journey. I started by revisiting natural selection, and I realized that I duped myself. I just did not understand natural selection well enough to defend my position 6 months ago. I read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. I binged watched George Carlin, and he really helped me overcome any anxiety I had towards leaving my faith because, like him, I really did want to believe in a deity, but I started to realize all of the inconsistencies. [I will elaborate more on this in a later part]
5. The social consequences: By the time I left my faith, I was open about it. I have always been vocal about what I believe in, and I simply told all of my prayer brothers why I stopped going to prayer. Needless to say, they weren't pleased about it. Unlike Elementary School and as a result of our immigration policies, High School had more Muslims in it, and many hated or criticized me for questioning the faith. As time went on, they became more toxic and vicious in their opposition, and so I called them out on their shit. I told them that I am on a journey like each and every one of them, and if they don't want to talk to me anymore, I would not care, and if they wanted to fight me, then bring it on. It was the last time any of them said anything to my face that was negative. Some of them never spoke to me again, some spoke to me less. I respected their choice and moved on; whether they respected mine mattered not. All that I cared about was that I felt that I was moving forward in my life. Eventually, the Muslim prayer group fell apart, and everything went back to normal in my High School.
Now, all of what I wrote happened about 10 years ago, and despite standing up to my fellow peers, I still haven't mustered up the courage to tell my parents. Honestly, I'm glad I still haven't. To this day, I have a good relationship with them, and they are far more religious now than they were. It seems like an egregiously unnecessary thing to do that will not only sour my relationship with them but also with their future grandkids. That just seems too selfish for my liking despite my usual vocal tendencies.
End of part 1.

If you had the strength to take another step—could you do it?
Every avenue has failed her thus far; turning to alcohol, falling into despair, talking to friends, confiding in family, crying until her eyes burn red and swell shut. Kindness and wisdom count for nothing when it comes from those who cannot begin to understand what she goes through. She wandered listlessly, her feet taking her everywhere that wasn’t home—any place she could go that didn’t have the familiar eyes of family, friends or loved ones. A place where she meant nothing and had nothing but the clothes on her back and gil in her pocket. Even this brought nothing but frustration and anguish for remaining so utterly lost.
Her feet carried here across to pay the Ruby tithe, to wander aimlessly in the Steppe and beyond. On and on she walked, hoping that the further she got away… the further she went, the more clear the answer would become. So why, gods above, did her feet bring her to the steps where divinity sits waiting? Where her sins crawl up from her ankles and wrap thin like wire around her throat until flesh splits and blood runs hot over sand? Why, to the Destroyer’s feet, did she walk?
The Schism.
A holy land; temple built tried and true from the very first Fist of Rhalgr—having beaten flesh and bone into stone until there was a cavern where his destruction wrought. A low hanging sun paints the worn stone shades of orange and yellow, adding a beauty to it that normally it would not have. She stands alone at the base of the steps, anxiety creeping around ribs and whispering doubt into her ear.
‘You do not deserve to be here. You aren’t a real Fist—You sodden the land with your presence.’
A sharp flick and the idea is discarded, leaving only her, the heat of the desert sun and the stairs to the temple. Each step forward is a weight added to her heart, breath caught in throat as sweat glistens over golden skin. She shouldn’t be here. Her faith is shaky—she knows her praise and adoration to Rhalgr to be something of child’s play compared to the names of Fists she’s heard carried on the winds. Of the Fist she knows—Wyra’to, poison spitting snake he is, has more unbending faith to Rhalgr than she does. She is the last person to deserve to be standing here.
The last step is conquered and she finds herself before the mighty entrance to the Schism. In reality, it isn’t anything more than artfully crafted stone to an elaborate site of worship—something tourists and scholars dishonor with their incessant demand to see the location for themselves. But to her? It’s a library worth of information and prayer written upon the sand that skitters across stone, the taint of old blood on the walls and the lanterns that sit high—unlit—for years. Through the archways, across patterned tile, up a slant— into the wide cavern that was built by a single man of all his ambitions.
Green eyes shift from waning slits to waxing orbs of glittering emerald, a childlike wonder crossing her features as she stands riddled in awe. There are few things more beautiful in this world than this place—though dusty, beaten and worn through the years… It holds a mysticism and respect that has rightfully arted itself a holy land. She bends her neck and offers silent prayer, for the strength to persevere, for the heart to stand in her will. Doubt seeps through her pores, the whispering returning in ocean waves that crash into her resolve and she snarls into the dark to chase it away. The sound echoes in the hallowed cavern and she comes to the realization that, truly, she is alone.
Yet on her feet take her, down the steps and along the suspended bridge until she reaches the very last archway. Before her very eyes—the Destroyer watches. Fear creeps up her throat and threatens to suffocate, claws rip from her chest and sink into lungs. The ground erupts beneath her and she falls into nothingness—She can’t do this. It’s too much. What if she ca—
‘Anything worth having is worth fighting for. You, khti, are worth it.’
She blinks, turning sharp to look behind her. No one is there. Then why—
‘A burden shared is a burden lighter.’
She spins again, snapping her head upward in a frantic search for the one echoing these words to her. Who is… Why can she hear—
‘Do you trust me?’
A smile cracks through the panic, C’arha bringing her hand up to touch the center of her chest with a fond little brush. That’s right, she agreed to those words, did she not? Of trust. So why do this alone, dear sister, when you don’t have to? You need only reach. She can hear the words echoed in her skull, the chiding from an older brother rasped with frustration that someone is determined to carry all the weight herself. A puff of a laugh and the shake of a head. What a silly man. How she missed him.
Deep within, she trusts—despite how terrifying it is to reach for something in these ways, she does it regardless. One person has proven that no matter the hurt, no matter how scared or how awful it feels, she can trust. So she reaches within, through the scorching desert heat in her soul and calls for her brother’s aid.
‘Please. I need you. Hold tight, seni—keep me strong.’
Her gaze flicks up to meet the stoney gaze of the Destroyer, challenge tangled with flourishing respect and adoration. She will conquer this. She has to. The echo of footfalls continue until she stands under sunlight and directly under the unwavering gaze of her patron deity, beholden unto herself as mortal and falls to her knees.
Shaking fingers pull the glittering fire opal like soul stone from her top and she clutches it tightly to her breast, curling within herself with her head bowed.
‘Show me the way.’
A whisper, A plea—To both god and former master.
Maybe here, finally, she can find the answer.

MUN QUESTIONS.
Q1 : If you could write your character your way in their own movie, what would it be called, what style would it be filmed in, and what would it be about?
A1 : It would probably be one of those villain origin stories, either of his life growing up; or it would be him slowly going mad - like my Memories!AU. It would be very dark, definitely an R movie, maybe even something horror-esque. As for titles? /shrug I’m no good with those.
Q2 : What would their soundtrack/score sound like?
A2 : Definitely piano, organ, and harpsichord based. Maybe a little violin and cello. Something soft and somewhat haunting.
Q3 : Why did you start writing this character?
A3 : Ha... ha... I don’t want to admit that it gave me a reason to be mean to people lmao. I’m generally a super nice person, a people pleaser, and a rug that everyone walks over. Max’s character was supposed to reflect a couple of things - if I handled my guilt worse than I have irl, and if he were the sarcastic, rude, bastard I have no heart to be.
Q4 : What first attracted you to this character?
A4 : ^^ The above. Max was originally supposed to be young, naive, clumsy, and an anxiety ridden mess; and for the love of god, do not get me started on his original design. He became the opposite of those things, and Lothaire took up the mantle of his original personality.
Q5 : Describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse.
A5 : Max is an absolute fucking asshat that can’t let things be. Let dead things be dead, kind of thing. Can’t move on. He will definitely step on his friends and family if it meant gaining more power.
Q6 : What do you have in common with your muse?
A6 : The guilt of believing that we are the cause of the death to a loved one. I’m pretty sure I handled it better. We also have a lot of internalized rage.
Q7 : How does your muse feel about you?
A7 : lmao, he probably hates me. I *am* the source of all of his angst and anger, tbh. His life has been a mess and it is literally all my fault.
Q8 : What characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ?
A8 : Caromont, Shango, and Amarice - definitely. All three are people who push his ability to be a better person.
Q9 : What gives you inspiration to write your muse ?
A9 : Max is one of those characters that everyday is inspiration for him - it’s just finding the motivation to write. He’s not necessarily my longest running XIV character, but he is certainly one of my favorites to RP.
Q10 : How long did this take you to complete ?
A10 : A while - I lost motivation, forgot it was in my drafts, then got it done during my entire shift at work lmao.
A big ol’ shoutout to @shangomango and @amarice-sovald for their characters and helping shape Max into what he is today.

OOC INFORMATION AND HOOKS ——–
Ear to the Ground: Despite spending most of the day at the Quicksand. He is actually listening out for certain information that would lead him to things of interest. What those things are only for those who have proven reliable and loyal enough to keep close to the chest.
Engarde: Since he is blind, he would find getting around a place as unfeeling as Ul’dah difficult. So he is also interested in hiring three bodyguards, for some reason females.
Drinking Buddy: Despite the first two points, he is always happy to chat with whoever approaches him. Though he mainly drinks tea, he wouldn’t begrudge anyone who wanted to drink something stiffer around him.
Companion Piece: Also looking for others to aid him in the building of a Free Company. But requires time to get to know a person.
OOC I AM...
Fairly laid back and relaxed for the most part. I do not care much for erp and I am slightly bad at keeping a conversation going. But, if provided with enough to go on I can ramble for some time.
I do not care much for permanent injury, death, or actual combat roleplay in Genixma’s current state (hence the hiring of bodyguards)
Preferred method of contact is by /tell or discord to set up a meeting. But, if you walk up to Genixma while he is at the tavern and I am not afk for a moment, I am more than willing to respond.
PST on time, usually on for long periods of time just relaxing and working on school work behind the scenes.

Breaking this off the original thread.
Me:
This is what happens when people are given a little bit of knowledge, yet not taught to think critically.
When @ace-pervert says something like:
Yeah as long as you have things which can test them
He’s right in that not everyone has a LHC lying around the garage to just fire up and test for the Higgs Boson. However, it is possible to get an education specializing in the right field and get access to a particle accelerator. And run some tests.
But then you get worried when he says,
You almost never get the same result twice when testing something
This shows a complete and total lack of understanding in science and how it works. If nature was as chaotic as he implies, then we could never know anything. And before he whips out with the whole quantum universe thing, there are tests that we can conduct and repeat experiments. Plus the quantum universe thing is only applicable below the atomic level.
What we can know can change. Science doesn’t collapse and all knowledge disappear when we discover something knew. Theories (that is not guesses or speculation, but testable, repeatable ideas supported by evidence through getting the same results no just twice, but hundreds of times) are adjusted. It’s only when they are totally proven false, like cold fusion, that they get scrapped. Relativity supplanted Newtionian physics, but we still use it because it works for things here on earth.
But you have to be worried when you read,
it took so long for us to succesfully [sic] prove that the sun revolved around the earth
I’m hoping this is a typo.
provided you can demonstrate it exists to begin with which is impossible when it comes to things like intelligence which cant be tested directly but are assumed to exist but in truth are only hypothetic in nature and therefore not demonstratable.
First, there’s a difference between the abstract, like the mind, and the physical, like the brain. Now, we know intelligence exists, we are currently using devices that result from using intelligence. It also helps to actually define intelligence. Being smart like Einstein and being a con artist like Trump. Not the same thing, but some people can’t tell the difference.
We might not understand something, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Consciousness is a good place to start. It does exist. It can be tested. It’s as immaterial as intelligence.
Next we have @chillimanjaro:
“There are dozens of aspects of reality we don’t understand, including other dimensions. We don’t fully understand things like quantum mechanics or even physics. Not fully.”
Other dimensions may exist, but so far only in mathematical formulas on paper. We understand quite a bit about quantum mechanics and physics. We don’t know everything, sure, if we did, we wouldn’t study it. Our knowledge is expanding all the time. We’re developing new tools and building more powerful ones.
As for “something beyond this reality,” it makes for great fiction and fun speculation, but if it can interact with nature then there would be a way to test it. Just because there are wavelengths of energy that can’t be seen doesn’t prove that every other thing we can conceive of could exist. We can conceive of a wizarding boy that goes to a magical school, but I think lending it credence instead of relegating it to fiction isn’t the best way to go about thinking about things.
That’s the great thing about curiosity and science, we keep looking for more answers.
Response:
chillimanjaro:
I’m not saying lack of understanding is proof of God existing. I’m saying that you cannot reasonably dismiss the concept of a diety just because you personally have not observed him. That regardless of what you or I say about a god has no impact on whether a god exists.
It’s not a matter of not observing or feeling a god, but understanding that all gods were created in the minds of men.
I could sit here and say I have felt the presence of God in my life. I could do that, but I know me saying that I believe I have felt God, that I’ve heard his voice, that I’ve had a religious experience is my anecdotal evidence and will be dismissed as such.
Very true. People have felt a lot of stuff and been entirely wrong.
But I’d rather say that the dismissive nature of saying well I can’t see it, I’ve never felt it, I’ve never had that experience is not a proper way to address the question of Gods existence.
Again, it’s not a matter of not seeing. I did give an example of something we can’t see, yet we know it exists.
You lack any faith in God existing because you’ve never seen anything to attribute that to the world and that’s all well and fine but that still wouldn’t determine the existence of God.
Nor would feelings or being able to conceive of a god. Just look at history, all the gods were human or animal or hybrid, things people have seen, yet none existed. The box you open has your god in it, yet no other gods. Why? Why is your god the one true god, but none of the other gods? There may very be some super powerful being, but the idea is pointless. god needs to be relegated to mythology, with the rest of them. In the other box where you put all the gods.
To dismiss the possibility is just simply not reasonable.
To dismiss evidence is unreasonable. To believe is unreasonable. The possibility is not worth the effort or the time, except in fiction.
It’s as just as unreasonable as seeing the infinitely expanding universe and saying the only place with life on it must be our planet.
This is actually a very reasonable statement. Is there life elsewhere in the universe? Possibly. Given the law of large numbers, it’s very likely. Where the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe and the possibility of a deity existing differ is in one single point:
We know life exists in the universe.
And since it exists here, it is actually very probably it exists somewhere else in the universe with hundreds of billions of galaxies with hundreds of thousands of stars with trillions of planets. It like the lottery, the chance of one ticket winning is microscopic. The chance of a ticket winning is extremely likely.
I’m not saying that you must believe God exist because the chance is there that God does exist.
The greater chance is that god was created in the minds of men, like the 5,000 some odd other gods.
I’m saying very simply that that you can’t just say, nope not possible at all.
The possibility is a moot point, nor does it increase the likelihood.
All I can really say is that if you seek God, not to prove existence of God for yourself, but if you SEEK GOD TO FIND GOD you will find God.
Yes. When you really want something to be true, it is all the easier to believe it’s true when you don’t and can’t prove or disprove it concisely. It’s even easier when that god is invisible, untestable, unobservable. unprovable, and exactly what you conceive.
Also comparing the Bible, and more specifically the gospel of Jesus Christ, to Harry Potter is not a valid comparison.
They’re both fiction, and mention real places.
Harry Potter has been stated by its author to be fictional and is not that old.
Yes, we know it’s fiction. However, the Iliad and the Odyssey are much older, yet we don’t believe they are real. The Sumerian flood myth is even older then the bible, yet we know that wasn’t real either.
Something that has stood the test of thousands of years,
What test? People being forced to believe it?
has the most original copies of any documents in the ancient world
Do you mean the thousands and thousands of fragments? You do realize that copy means not original. Some of which prove they’ve been altered (like the addition of the last several verses of Mark).
(and I’m talking ancient documents dated around the time that it is claimed Jesus did what he did) especially when it was widely persecuted with crucifixtion, prison, and being burned alive at the time it began and still faces persecution in many parts of the world has a bit more value than that.
This seems a little odd, like you’re running at least two ideas together. I’ll try to pull them apart.
The only documents about the existence of jesus are the gospels. Everything else was derived from that or from the people who believed it. There are no original accounts (and the gospels are full of contradictions, read Bart Ehrman).
We do know that crucifixions happened. Doesn’t prove jesus existed. It just proves the writers used that along with the OT to fabricate the jesus story.
I’m not sure how people being persecuted today proves the bible true. I think your working toward the logical fallacy known as appeal to popularity (many people believe it, so it must be true).
If people did not believe Jesus came back from the dead then they would have renounced their faith in him under scrutiny especially when faced with his same type of death.
Called it. People believe because they wanted to believe. Belief in gods was rampant at that time. Many religions sprang up and had instant followers. christianity happened to survive the ages, not through fact, but belief.
If they didn’t believe in the miracles that they claimed to have seen and were just saying so then they would have given up, not given their life.
That doesn’t follow. Just because people gave up their lives for their beliefs doesn’t prove anything except they gave up their life for their beliefs.
No one actually saw anything. (Why are there 4 different accounts of jesus talking to Pontius Pilot that differ in almost every way and yet none of his followers actually witnessed any exchange?) We have 4 canonical and numerous apocryphal accounts, all created at least 30 years after the supposed events. Yet somehow, no one wrote down anything at the time, only 30+ years later, during an age of illiteracy, rife with supposed gods, with many wandering illiterate itinerant apocalyptic preachers. Jesus was a common name, derived from Joshua, a Jewish hero. The practice of giving your children great names hasn’t changed.
No one is out there dying for Harry Potter (except JK Rowling lol) but people refuse to give up their faith in Jesus and die for it plenty to this day.
I hope not. But if people were, that wouldn’t suddenly prove Harry Potter is real. There however is a possibility that J.K. Rowling wrote about real events, but due to the magic protecting muggles and keeping them out of the wizarding world we are completely unaware of this unseen world around us. Rowling may have even had these events transmitted to her mind so as to foster further disbelief in the wizarding world and protect it from discovery.
I’d really recommend looking into Lee Strobel if you’re interested for more answers. They actually have a movie based off his book on Netflix last time I checked. It’s called The Case For Christ.
Wow. Talk about coincidence. (But when I think about it, it’s actually a very likely coincidence.) I just read about his book. Now I’ll have to go back and reread that article again, so I won’t address it here.
I’d also recommend that you actually read the New Testament of the Bible, not necessarily the whole thing but the first 4 books give a clear understanding of Jesus Christ.
I have. I used to go to church. Been baptised, believed it because everyone else did. But when I started to develop critical thinking, questioning things, I began to realize that I didn’t believe it.
I recommend you read it as well, but read it in parallel. Find the stories that overlap. See how they are different. Read Bart Ehrman, Jesus Interrupted and Misquoting Jesus (I think that’s the names). He’s a top NT scholar. I don’t agree with everything he wrote, but he is good.
Another good one (though I will tell you that not everything between the pages of that book has the same value) is What Time Is Purple? It’s very short, shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes to read at max.
Maybe. I have like 2,000 other books to read.
I recommend How to Think About Weird Things. I’ve just started Skeptic’s Guide to the Universe, it promises to be excellent.

What Is Witchcraft?
Witchcraft
There is no universal meaning for what Witchcraft is. It means different things in different cultures. But here I will try to give as detailed a description as possible, with providing as many views as possible. You may also want to look at the Additional Reading list that expands on some of the information here. First let's make it clear that Witchcraft is the title of the religion. Not Wicca. Here in the U.S. there is a large debate about this. But if one is open to the historic evolution of the religion; Wicca is a moderately new tradition within the religion and not the religion itself. You can read much more about this in the
Is Witchcraft A Religion
So what is Witchcraft?Witchcraft is a spiritual practice, a way of life, a belief system and a religion. Witchcraft is the religion that sets the foundation of belief. The denominations of Witchcraft are called Traditions. They further define and implement the foundation of beliefs into their own perspectives of practice. Defining their own creed, troth or rede of faith to provide guidance and principles for that tradition. "The Craft" is a much older way to describe what is commonly known as Witchcraft. But some suggest "The Craft" is actually the craft of Magik, or magikal practices which are not specific to, or only used by, pagan religions. Some refer to their spiritual belief system by the name of their particular tradition (ie: Wicca). We will discuss this further below. There is no single Bible or sacred text defining all of Witchcraft, in all its many sects or traditions. However each practioner and/or coven has their own
Book of Shadows
or Grimoire. The Grimoire contains rituals, invocations and charms, experiences and journal entries from the coven as a whole. They contain information and teachings learned from experiences and from each other. Practioners often copy from each others books, and more often students from their teachers. Often a teacher will define exactly which entries a student must copy into their own Grimoire before their initiation process into that coven can be completed. Even though a coven has a base or official source of Grimoire, no two Grimoires are ever exactly the same. Ideally a Grimoire should contain only methods that have proven successful and have been consistent in their workings or hold up to scrutiny. Failed ideas are excluded. Along with the Grimoire, many covens see other essential texts to the Grimoire: The Greater Key of Solomon the King which dates from medieval times and The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abra-Melin the Mage which was published in the late 1900s. These two books are said to contain the basic lessons and principles of magik that should be utilized in every coven. Of course this is not a requirement and not all covens provide these additional works. Witchcraft is a recognized religion by the United States government. In 1985/86 the U.S. Army included a section in the
Army Chaplin's Handbook
on Witchcraft/Wicca. If you examine the entry, you will notice that the religion is known by other names, and you'll find Witchcraft listed in that section of the document. In the most simplistic definitions, Witchcraft can be described as:A nature based religion that believes in the balance of mind/body/spirit within the divine multiverse. It is a religion and way of life, honoring all things seen and unseen within that divine multiverse. Practitioners strive to live in harmony and balance within nature, believing we (human and nature) are all interconnected and parts of the greater divine force. Some call this force, The GreatSpirits, The Divine, God/Goddess, All That Is and so on. It's really up to the individual and what label best fits their view of the Divine Spirit.
Traditions/Sects
Witchcraft comes in many forms or sects. As mentioned earlier, these sects are called Traditions. Many are based not on book or historical record, but rather oral tradition. Perhaps that's where the label 'tradition' comes from. There are many Traditions within the category of the religion. One of the more commonly known today is Wicca which has become one of the most popular traditions in America. Think of it this way:
The tradition is to Witchcraft what a denomination is to Christianity. That is to say: Wicca is to Witchcraft what Baptist is to Christianity. You can refer to the Witchcraft Traditions
Beliefs
Practitioners of Witchcraft believe in a balanced polarity, especially that of the feminine and masculine energy of the Divine universe. These two aspects of nature are embodied in two deities, known as the Goddess and God. Traditionally most Pagan deities are considered to represent the different aspects of the God/Goddess. Most traditions honor the God/Goddess as equals where one does not acquire more or less importance over the other. This translates into a balance between the feminine and masculine forces within the divine. Which God/Goddess a tradition honors depends on their cultural heritage. Celts honor Celtic Gods, Egyptian traditions honor Egyptian Gods and so on. These cultural groups of God/Goddess are called Pantheons
. A few branches, such as Dianic, view the feminine aspect with more importance. There are many groups who are monotheists (there is only 1 god), polytheists (there are many gods) or duotheists (1 female and 1 male god). Many regard the gods as real, not simply as aspects of a male or female deity. Where other Traditions see them as pantheons, just aspects of the Divine force in the universe. Today there is a belief that a tradition of Witchcraft must be polytheists or duotheists to be legit. That is a total misconception. Many early pagans were monotheists, who saw the Divine Spirit as once force that lives within all things and connects all things into one force in nature. For those that honor both the God and Goddess, the Goddess is the existing force of all creation as in the Earth, nature and life itself. The Goddess has three faces: the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. These faces correspond to the many different cycles in nature: the waxing, full and waning phases of the moon; the menstrual cycle and the cycle of life in birth, life and death. The God is less commonly defined across Traditions. He can be a single view, such as Odin in Norse practices, The Horned God Cernunnos in Celtic traditions, Ra in Egyptian traditions and so on. In many sects, the God comes in two forms, the young God who starts the year and works into the Summer when he becomes the Old God into Yule when he has aged and grown old. At this time he faces the young God who will begin the new year cycle again. There are variations to this theme, The Holly and Oak Kings, The Horned God ,The Sacred King are all examples of this.
Practioners of Witchcraft hold a belief in Reincarnation and do not believe in heaven or hell since death is considered to be another form of existence. Some practioners believe that a soul is continually reborn whereas others believe that once a soul learns all the life lessons, it is granted eternal rest in a place called the Summerlands , which is also known as Valhalla for the Norse, The Otherworld for the Celts, Avalon for the Anglo-Saxons and so on throughout each cultural Tradition. Practioners believe in Karma as the result of an action brought through life time to lifetime. It is the ultimate divine law that governs the use of magik and behavior since it deals with the divine cosmic justice. In other words a person is reborn in a position that befits their deeds from the previous life. In addition, the deeds created in this incarnation create the life experiences upon ones path through this life.
Practioners believe in Energy and Psychic abilities. Believing that we are all energy beings and connected through energy. That through this energy we can connect to each other and all things with our psychic senses and that these senses are part of all nature and that all people have these senses within them.
Practioners believe in Spirits, Spirit Guides and Ghosts . Believing that a soul never dies and has the ability to walk in all spiritual realms. That they share knowledge and information, guide and assist the living through their spiritual path.
While most practioners believe in Magik , not all feel the need to practice it's craft. Practioners honor the energy and flow of the Moon as it relates to daily life. The phases of the moon are honored and celebrated through rituals known as Esbats . Additionally we mark specific cycles of nature and the changes of the year through holidays we call Sabbats . These cycles are celebrated though rituals and ceremonies , most often in Magikal Circles or Sacred Spaces
Practices
Practioners gather in groups called Covens or Clans or alone in Solitary practice. Each group may have it's own unique practices or rituals. Covens range in number of members, but traditionally have a maximum of thirteen which is the number of transition. When the number of members in a coven exceeds thirteen, the common belief is that the coven should split, to continue the self-perpetuation process.
Practioners do not have specific structures of worship, though some find the means and finances for constructing indoor altars, some call them temples, while others practice their rituals at outdoor altars. In reality, any place in contact with the Earth will suffice. Rituals are practiced in Circles representing the cycle of life, energy and the ever ending cycle of divine energy. Group Circle Gatherings are similar to Setting Circles for solitary practices. The area is purified by the four elements and then the Circle is cast , usually by a leader of the coven often known as a Priest or Priestess who walks clockwise along its perimeter and drawing an actual circle. Sometimes with a wand or athame which are two common tools, a rope made of natural fibers, a vine or drawing in the dirt. After this, many Covens call forth the four cardinal directions and are greeted and invoked, according to the tradition and preference of the practitioners.
Other neo pagans practice entirely without formal circle-casting. Some Celtic reconstructionists worship in a Nemeton, as they believe the ancients did, within a ritual framework based on elements earth, wind, fire, water. Others have adapted Native American practices and invoke the directions, including Above and Below. And some, meld all these aspects together and work with the directions and the elements.
Practioners conduct sacred rites within the Circle, invoking the names of the Goddess and God along with the essences of nature. Once the Circle has been cast, the space within represents an altered consciousness that is "between worlds." The Circle also serves to contain energy that is built up during the rites until it is ready to be released in what is known as the Cone of Power. When the Cone of Power is released, the energy goes into the purposes that the practitioners have set forth in their ritual.
Rituals often also include an honoring of the God/Goddess with wine and cakes. A goblet of wine is raised and an Athame is dipped into it to represent the union between the Goddess (the goblet) and the God (the athame). The cup is then passed around the Circle to be drunk by the practitioners. The ceremonial cakes are then passed around as well, to complete the socializing and fellowship that is present in the circle. Sometimes rituals are also conducted skyclad (naked) or in special costumes, depending on the tradition. The purpose of both these practices is to increase the unity with nature.
Practioners have a set of tools commonly used for casting circles and during rituals.
The broom, serves the purpose of purifying a space before casting a circle.
An altar where the rite is focused.
The wand and athame which are masculine tools.
The cup and broom which are feminine tools.
These objects also represent the elements, fire, earth, water and air. In some traditions, the wand is the symbol for air and the athame a symbol for fire. The practioner (if a solitary) or the priest/priestess stands in the center of the circle to represent the 5th element, the divine spirit. This combination of elements and nature perfectly complement the image of the Goddess and God during the ritual.
Some Wiccans have alternate associations with elements and directions, especially those based on Norse or Welsh covens. The Athame in some groups is a white-handled knife used in ritual, the black handled athame might be used outside the circle for magically related work such as gathering herbs or cutting candle wicks. Another tool used for these purposes is the boline, a crescent shaped knife.
There are three types of gatherings: Sabbats, Esbats and special purposes. In a special purpose gatherings, a coven meets to deal with a common goal or issue that needs immediate attention, such as casting a health spell to aid a sickly friend. Most magikal rites are performed at Esbats, which are small gatherings that correspond to the phases of the moon.
Sabbats or Holiday festivals also take place during the year. These holidays are divided into the sections of the seasonal year, spring, summer, fall and winter. They are also divided into Quarters and Cross-quarter ceremonies.
Spring Imbolg Ostara Bealtaine
Summer Midsummer
Fall Lughnasadh Mabon Samhain
Winter Yule
Quarter ceremonies ,these are also called the Fire Festivals. Yule Ostara Midsummer - Summer Solstice Mabon
Cross Quarter ceremonies .Imbolg Bealtaine Lughnasadh Samhain
While many traditions use Initiations to acknowledge the progress of a practioner through knowledge and learning, not all traditions follow this concept. Initiates are considered to be priests/priestess after a full cycle of learning is acquired. Often, a Priest/Priestess takes on the role similar to other clergy, performing blessings, weddings, eulogies and so on. Many practioners are fighting to gain state recognition for their status as clergy within the pagan community..
What Witchcraft and A Tradition Are Not!
Kitchen Witch
This label pops up every now and then. More closely related to the Hereditary sect, these witches are practicing healing and ceremonies based on family tradition. "Old wives tales", Grandma's healing concoctions and special family traditions all make up this sect of the craft.. However, since these beliefs are often handed down from generation to generation, the label Heredity is more appropriate. But there is a nice warm feeling about calling your grandma a "kitchen witch" and referring to her old remedies that helped you feel better when you got a bad cold.
Pow-Wow
A mis-labeled sect, based in South Central Pennsylvania. It is based on a 400 year old German magik system and has deteriorated into a a simple faith healing. The mis-use of the term maybe offensive to the original practioners of a true Pow-Wow, the Native American nations. It is advised that this term remain connected to the originators and not to this adopted society. Even at 400 years old, the Pennsylvania/German system is new in comparison to the Native American beliefs.
See "Similarities in Beliefs" for a further discussion of this topic.
Devil Worship An important NOT!
Craft practioners do not worship "the devil", because pagan Witches do not belief in the devil. The misconception was mainly created by the Christian Church as a means to destroy Craft beliefs which were often perceived to be at odds with what the "Church" wanted spread across the world. Many detractors of the Christian faith often site this type of propaganda as an example of the "Churches'" attempt to gain control over the people.
Satanic An other important NOT!
Craft practioners are not Satanists. Satanism is also a pre-Christian pagan religion, however there are significant differences between these two faiths. Many people often confuse Satan with the Christian devil. Again, this is due to Christian propaganda. Satan is the translated name of the Egyptian God Set, who was the deity of ego and confidence. These traits when taken to extremes are similar to Lucifer and thus the association stuck. Satanists however, do not believe in the existence of the devil, and do not worship that being. They see themselves as the God force and practice a faith of eye for an eye. If you'd like to learn more, I strongly suggest you visit the University Of Virginia's Religious Freedoms site and review their study on Satanism

BASICS. FULL NAME : savannah flora mouse NICKNAME : different people give her different nicknames, but her preferred one is savie AGE : her mental age is 10-11, but she’s been around for 88 years BIRTHDAY : march 18, 1928 (I had to change the date a day later bc, although its historically accurate, i didn’t know it was on st. patrick’s day lmao) ETHNIC GROUP : american? a toon?? NATIONALITY : american??? LANGUAGE / S : english, though she knows typical greetings in a few different languages SEXUAL ORIENTATION : asexual. ROMANTIC ORIENTATION : heteroromantic. RELATIONSHIP STATUS : crushing single pringle CLASS : so i don’t think wasteland has any classes?? she doesn’t have a lot of money though, so maybe lower class. HOME TOWN / AREA : los angeles, california CURRENT HOME : observatory, mean street south, wasteland PROFESSION : a stargazer’s apprentice, keeping the animals in wasteland out of trouble (which is a bigger job than it sounds, since without her all the animals from the previous disney movies would be destroying the place), and she does various other errands for toons.
PHYSICAL. HAIR : white, almost creme colored, short curly hair that never goes past her head. she has some bangs that fall over her eyes. EYES : icy hues speckled with dots of white- her pupals being white due to the thinner disaster NOSE : a round, black button nose that comes out a little due to her mouse features. FACE : small and round, prone to sometimes showing dimples LIPS : she doesn’t have much of a lip, i mean, it’s mostly a line that curves into a smile or a frown. COMPLEXION : a warm brown that nearly always has a tint of blush to her cheeks. BLEMISHES : none that are particularly noticeable SCARS : if her eyes count as scars, then there’s that. she also has various bruises on her legs due to her clumsy nature. TATTOOS : none. HEIGHT : 2′0″ WEIGHT : 10-15 lbs BUILD : she’s very petite and skinny, which wouldn’t seem so bad if it didn’t seem to be almost unhealthy. she isn’t particularly insecure about her body- it’s just to anyone else, she might seem a bit malnourished if not proven otherwise. FEATURES : her icy hues are soft but captivating, and are distinguishable even from a distance. savie’s small build can make her go unnoticed to anyone not looking for her, and her pastel looking colors can make her stand out a little from a usually- grey area like wasteland. ALLERGIES : she has a slight allergy to dust, but other than that, none. USUAL HAIR STYLE : her hair is far too short to put in a ponytail or do anything other than keep it down. it’s usually left the way it is, with a bow placed behind her ears. USUAL FACE LOOK : anyone who has ever looked at her can tell she has a very shy personality just from her face alone. her eyes are gentle and soft, never stern or angry, with a joyful smile usually accompanying it. she’s not very good at hiding her own emotions however- as much as she would like to believe otherwise. when she’s upset or feeling rather shy, her eyes drift away from where she was previously focusing, and a small frown usually displays her sadness. USUAL CLOTHING : a pastel blue skirt that reaches just above her knees, with a white lace/apron (cries bc idk how to describe it), tying at the back with a little white ribbon. she normally wears yellow shoes with a blue bow behind her ears.
PSYCHOLOGY. FEAR / S : everything. savie could be described as a generally paranoid and anxious person, she fears a lot of things, but her biggest fear is being forgotten by all her friends and not being able to amount to anything (hence her questioning ‘could i be enough?’ a lot) ASPIRATION / S : savie doesn’t have many aspirations.... at all. she’s kinda given up on ever leaving wasteland- there’s little to no proof that she ever existed- plus no one would really want anyone like her anyways. she believes she doesn’t have a future outside of wasteland, so her dreams don’t go very bigger than just hoping that a miracle could happen and everyone around her could be remembered. as for her? savie doesn’t think she’ll ever be remembered, as much as she wishes she might be, though her optimistic smile tends to show otherwise. POSITIVE TRAITS : gentle, kind, innocent, patient, humble, pacifist NEGATIVE TRAITS : stubborn, self-conscious, anxious, prone to jealousy and sometimes greed. MBTI : isfp ZODIAC : pisces TEMPERAMENT : melancholic SOUL TYPE / S : caregiver ANIMALS : savie takes the term ‘as quiet as a mouse’ very legitimately. she is mostly like what you’d imagine a mouse acting like. when i took the quiz, however, i got a bat. VICE HABIT / S : her hands have to be doing something when she’s talking to someone. they can’t just be to her side, they have to be occupied- whether that be through fiddling with her skirt folds, folding them together, etc. FAITH : she’s very.... weird with stuff like this. she believes in every religion in a way- kinda like a fairy tale. she thinks that all the gods and goddesses exist as one big family. if anything though, she does believe that there’s something bigger out there, but there isn’t just one religion to her. she doesn’t practice anything regularly though. GHOSTS ? : i mean..... there are ghosts in Wasteland..... so... AFTERLIFE ? : she believes that something happens after you die.... but she doesn't know what REINCARNATION ? : ^^^^ ALIENS ? : maybe?? she’d like to believe that friendly aliens are out there somewhere! POLITICAL ALIGNMENT : all she knows is that in wasteland there’s a king and queen, the united states has a president, and there can be princes and princesses. anything else confuses her to no end. ECONOMIC PREFERENCE : she lives with gremlin copernicus in the mean street observatory, though she is a child, she takes it upon herself to help out wherever she can with money and expenses. savie doesn’t really make any income per say, but she does sometimes get e-tickets by helping others or just finding them in random locations. SOCIOPOLITICAL POSITION : toons aren’t really revered as equal as people yet, so that in itself can cause some problems. however, she is a child after all in the eyes of others, so living with someone whom she almost considers family doesn’t raise any brows. she isn’t poor, she has enough to get by, and that’s good for her. EDUCATION LEVEL : she was taught the basics like reading, writing, and talking by women in the walt disney studios. whatever further education she has was either self taught, or gremlin copernicus taught her.
FAMILY. FATHER : here’s where things get complicated. technically she has two fathers, walt disney and ub iwerks. walt disney created the concept of her and drew her out, but ub iwerks was the one who inked her. they never made her any parents, so they are the closet thing she has to a real father. she connects more pleasant, happier memories with walt than ub, however. MOTHER : the closest thing she has to a mother is lilian disney for reasons above. SIBLINGS : none. EXTENDED FAMILY : none. NAME MEANING / S : explained here HISTORICAL CONNECTION ? : OK SO HERE’S THE THING, her origins were actually based around things that actually happened. there was a brown house mouse that walt used to base mickey off of, ub iwerks did leave walt to make his own company, etc. etc. savie did not exist, but her whole story is based around the idea of ‘what if there was another mouse, created by ub instead of walt, based more around the mice in the laugh o’ grams studio?’
FAVOURITES. BOOK : she doesn’t really have a favorite, but she loves fairy tales! MOVIE : see above 5 SONGS : so here’s the thing.... she doesn’t listen to a lot of music. however, she does like jazz because it brings back memories, and folk music. DEITY : refer to the faith section. HOLIDAY : christmas! not because she likes receiving gifts, rather, she likes the feeling of christmas. it’s the one time of the year when everyone is joyful and happy, plus it gives her an excuse to get presents for her friends! MONTH : months that are warm, so usually april, may, and june? SEASON : spring! PLACE : she loves just being in a meadow or wooded area, surrounded by silence and nature. or her own room..... that works too. WEATHER : she likes all weather, except when it’s extremely hot or cold. SOUND : a chirp of a friendly bird, a soft melody, a book page turning, someone laughing joyfully, wind sweeping through chimes, waves crashing on a bank. SCENT / S : fresh baked cookies from the oven, flowers touched by morning dew, a new book just opened for the first time. TASTE / S : any kind of cheese, much like any other mouse; candy, whether it be smooth chocolate or sour gummys; warm soup, and a cold glass of water on a hot day. FEEL / S : an embrace from someone she holds dear, a soft blanket wrapped around her body, laying down on a bed after a long day, wind sweeping around her skirt, the coarse fur of an animal ANIMAL / S : too many. NUMBER : two COLOUR : all of them, she can’t pick just one!
EXTRA. TALENTS : communicating to different animals and figuring out what they’re thinking or saying with little to no words, ability to learn quickly..... though it isn’t a talent, she’s very good at being patient to those who might otherwise get one someone's nerves. she’s a good listener, making her a reliable person if you want to talk about something without the fear of someone not understanding. BAD AT : she’s horrible at retaining her own emotions, her features reveal almost anything that’s going through her head- despite a smile trying to prove otherwise. she tries so hard to be optimistic, her words might be decorated with encouragement and joy, but her optimism can only go so far. savie is very stubborn, once she has her mind set on something, whether it be a thought or an action, she won’t give up on it until she finishes it or convinces whomever is opposing her to support her decision. her shy nature can’t go unnoticed either, and her anxiety proves to be her downfall in most social situations. TURN ONS : TURN OFFS : HOBBIES : she likes to bake, though she isn’t the best at it, in her free time she’s usually found reading a book or maybe looking for a close friend to talk to. TROPES : listen..... i know she fits into at least a few tropes... but i’m too tired to look through the whole list..... i’m sorry lol AESTHETIC TAGS : GPOY QUOTES :
FC INFO. MAIN FC / S : a.ryana engineer ALT FC / S : shi.rley temple- her old face claim. OLDER FC / S : none. YOUNGER FC / S : aryan.a engineer in orphan. VOICE CLAIM / S : none at the moment GENDERBENT FC / S : none
MUN QUESTIONS. Q1 : if you could write your character your way in their own movie , what would it be called , what style would it be filmed in , and what would it be about ? A1 : if someone ever asked to have savie in her own movie, i would probably lose my mind tbh, it would be a huge deal to me haha. i don’t really know much about filming, so i’m not sure about the style, but i’d probably call it ‘The Misfit Mouse’ and have it be about her life, her connections with disney, how she was forgotten, and the things that happened after that. Q2 : what would their soundtrack / score sound like ? A2 : probably what you’d imagine a typical disney score sounding like. Q3 : why did you start writing this character ? A3 : savie came from a very dark time in my life. i wasn’t in a good mental health, and everything was kinda crumbling around me. she helped me get through a tough part of my life, and i’m really proud of how far she’s come. i’m proud of her story and personality, and i wanted to show her off to the world. sure my first couple years were very.... cringe-worthy, but i don’t regret any of it. (or at least a majority of it). she’s developed so much over the past four years, and though i may never actually feel 100 percent satisfied with her, i’m happy enough to write her as her own character. Q4 : what first attracted you to this character ? A4 : see above. Q5 : describe the biggest thing you dislike about your muse. A5 : it’s not a matter of something i dislike about her, more or less, just something about her personality that’s hard to write. her shyness doesn’t really let her be as outgoing as other muses, therefore, it can be hard to convey her feelings in writing, and it’s even harder to comment on something going on the dash. because usually when something’s going on, savie’s like ‘oh.... i better not say anything.... i don’t want to get in the way....’ plus all the newer people she’s met have to get through that layer of shyness before they can see the other parts of her personality shine. Q6 : what do you have in common with your muse ? A6 : we’re both girls, we’re both very small, and we’re both shy and awkward, though i’m not as near as savie’s level. Q7 : how does your muse feel about you ? A7 : she thinks i’m a nice friend. just don’t tell her i’m the one who put her through all this trauma and everything will be fine lmao Q8 : what characters does your muse have interesting interactions with ? A8 : omg soooo many people! if you want to get specific, look at all the people i tagged! they’re all amazing, and it’s just so cool to see savie interact with all these lovely characters <3 Q9 : what gives you inspiration to write your muse ? A9 : listening to music usually, though her muse usually comes naturally to me. Q10 : how long did this take you to complete ? A10 : so i started this at 8:45..... at the time of typing this, it is 12:30.... almost four hours. r i p me.
#sorry for any grammar mistakes im tired lol#i didn't think this would take that long to get through#oh well-- i wasn't planning on doing anything other than this today anyways lmao#thanks for tagging me in this!#and those of you i tagged- you don't have to do it!#this was kinda fun to do though haha#miss bright eyes {{ headcanon }}

Did God Burn Down Notre Dame?
Notre Dame has burned to the ground. It's supposedly an accident due to renovations, but even if it were arson, this piece is concerned with how people perceive events in their lives in the context of God's influence. Due to the nature of good vs evil, and how that paradigm is presented in religion, Christians tend to attribute good things happening to God's influence and bad things to the Devil's influence. So, do Christians believe the Devil caused this fire? Does this evil being delight in the destruction he caused to a supposed church of God?
Part of that answer depends on, if God exists as the Christian Bible presents Him, which sect of Christianity is accurate. It could be that Catholicism is the truest form of reality or that could be the furthest from the truth. Catholics, I'm sure, believe the former while other sects and other religions would scoff at that notion. In 2019, the age of understanding and reason, we still cannot fathom a single religious belief that all people universally accept as inconvertible truth. Mostly because all religion is based on circumstantial evidence at best, hearsay at worst. One may believe in something that makes sense to them, but none of it can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. And religious people readily acknowledge that fact, often with some mention of faith in whatever they believe.
However, since the event of Notre Dame burning can be proven as being influenced by any supernatural power, or disproven as such, it's anyone's guess. Christians could easily attribute it to being the work of the Devil or, even, God's will. And that, really, is the crux of the situation; that, lacking any definitive evidence, people will decide it MUST be this or that, regardless of what is reality.
How many will attribute this devastation to the will of God or an act of the Devil? More importantly, how can there be any standard of decision what to attribute these actions to if there is no proven foundation upon which to build religious beliefs? And, why are humans so skeptical about things in which they don't believe, but readily accept without question those in which they do believe?
Even more to my point, are Christians going to decide this event, as (probably) the will of God in action, since He controls all things, is a good or a bad thing? Perhaps the historic church burning down prevented a series of events that would have led to certain people dying or suffering, and that was God's will to prevent that. Or, perhaps it was the Devil's work and God, who could stop the Devil if He so chose, allowed it to happen. Or, perhaps it had nothing to do with any supernatural entity whatsoever and is a coincidence ... a sad one at that. We really don't know, having zero evidence of any of those possibilities.
And that is my point. We can believe any of those possibilities, but since we don't know and have no way to prove any of them, it's not really important, is it? It's not important to assign our beliefs to things that happen in order to make more sense of them or make them more comfortable thoughts. Losing an historic symbol of humanity is a sad prospect, in terms of historical record and reflection, but to attempt to find meaning in such an event according to our personal religious beliefs accomplishes nothing but coddling a mind which already tries to find meaning in the meaningless. Just think about those that see the figure of their chosen deity's image in everyday things as a sign of said deity's existence. It is circular logic at best and, at worst, confirmation that humanity is incapable of rational thought.
