i finished catching up to this like 2 minutes ago [EDIT: WROTE THAT THE DAY BEFORE YESTERDAYM NOW ITS 2 DAYS AGO] and i genuinely really liked this. for a manhua its amazing!! the plot is unique and keeps you guessing, the characters are entertaining and NOT cookie cutter cutouts of isekai tropes, theres been some interesting reveals and a lot of people in the comments were hating on ml but personally i found him super fun; hes very morally grey n has definite flaws but thats what makes him a good character to read about !! not to mention the main character herself is great. i hate that my bar for good manhwa/hwa characters has gone down to 'has more than 2 personality traits' but she is leaping over it for sure

LMAOOO OK so this is one of my favorite things ever solely bc theres SO MANY different ways it can go and literally all of them are fucking gold

i feel like they always knew varian was Not Straight. im a big fan of the idea that varian transitions after qfad and has a big mental breakdown haircut when his dad gets trapped and considering his feelings towards both eugene and cass i think it was always this unspoken thing all of them knew about. rapunzel and eugene however were obviously Not expecting him to bring home a whole ass boyfriend

of course varian wrote tons of letters home so they both heard everything about the new friends he was making, but varian was insistent on not telling them ANYTHING about his crush because god knows how rapunzel would react if she found out about That. she was suspicious when he came back for the light trial but decided to keep her mouth shut until they were all finished with their work there

i love rapunzel and eugene being super supportive but also a Little protective. and its not really anything to do with anything hugo’s done, they’re all about second chances after all but they’re obviously not ready to see their baby brother grow up so fast. ive seen a lot of fics where one or both of them are very defensive and suspicious towards hugo and it ends with a VERY yummy confrontation from varian where he tells them they need to learn that he’s an adult now and is able to make his own choices and they have to be okay with that. but the route of them being so excited and supportive that it ends up being overbearing is also super funny and in character

i think rapunzel at first would be super excited varian is finding love, and very welcoming towards hugo on a surface level- but as time goes on the tiniest things start to make her paranoid, and she worries a lot about varian getting hurt in some way. cue her snooping around a lot just to make sure he’s okay, varian eventually confronting her about it and her apologizing and promising to recognize varian’s maturity and be more accepting of his choices.

when rapunzel actually starts to see hugo on a deeper level she starts to recognize a lot of his similarities to varian, eugene, and especially herself, and she’s now basically like “oh ok!!! new baby brother!! :)”

she then tries to be a lot more welcoming towards hugo, trying to help him settle into the castle without being too overbearing. of course from hugo’s perspective her seemingly constant mood swings make him very hesitant to trust her, but eventually through varian the two are able to bond and find a lot of common ground

eugene on the other hand is fun bc he’s way more versatile and it can go a LOT of different ways depending on how they’re introduced or how their past together is established. i love the idea of him basically becoming Cass 2.0 and being super overprotective of varian but i also like to imagine he’s mostly just so hostile towards hugo bc he recognizes so much of his younger self and is Cringing about it (he would literally NEVER admit it though). like he’s like “i cannot STAND that kid he always acts so cocky and like he’s sooo much better than me” and cass is like “lmao yeah right? he’s exactly like you when you first came here” and eugene’s just “😐”

anyways they’re best friends (they literally cant stand each other)

no they do start to get along eventually though and i have so many thoughts about the potential friendship between the former thieves, lance hugo and eugene would be SUCH a dynamic and this fandom is sleeping on it fr

and then theres cass. GOD cass is my favorite in this situation by far bc shes way more logical and is like the only grounding force between rapunzel and eugene. new dream are the overemotional parents/older siblings in this situation and cass is like. the wine aunt.

bc see cass already ran into varian at some point during his journey and has already processed most of these changes ahead of time. she already recognized how much varian had matured and how much this trip had changed him. and most importantly she recognized what was going on between him and hugo a Long time ago and literally Did Not Care

in fact cass’s main concern is literally just that she thinks hugo is annoying. its not like she’s suspicious of him at all bc she fully trusts varians judgement and also knows varian is capable of handling himself. she’s aware that varian clearly saw something in hugo and chose him for a reason. she just doesn’t like him solely out of personal bias

cass doesn’t straight up tell raps and eugene what the problem is because she knows they need to hear it from varian more than anything but she does try to kind of push them in that direction. she reminds them like “hey maybe you should try to give the kid more credit. i think he knows what he’s doing�� yk that kind of thing.

ironically enough though hugo is WAY more scared of her than he is of anyone else. shes like on the same level as quirin on his list of threats which is hilarious because they are the main 2 people who have like, basically nothing against him

But overall it’s very wholesome and the osts are good :3

D.P. is highkey dark asf cus it’s basically about these two dudes who are in the Korean military and their job is to catch draft evaders and it explores how complex the reasons can be as to why some Korean men would take such a huge risk. It shows how some people abuse others in the military because of their highsr ranks. I think it’s based off of actual events that have happened but not completely

Yet another one popped into my head while writing the previous one 😭 it’s a movie though. It’s called 1987: when the day comes. It’s about the gwangju uprisings/june uprisings and the events that led to Korea becoming a democratic country. It definitely takes creative liberties and the story is not completely accurate but that’s not the point it’s such s beautiful story 💔💔

It’s about this judge lady who is oversees cases for juveniles cus she fawking hates children bad (she has trauma) and it explores what leads some kids to act bad asf and how some kids actually are super deranged 😭 but it shows her journey of realizing not all the kids who come through her court are bad kids they just have shit circumstances that led them to doing the things they do

Fun fact about me: when there’s a new young but adult-looking man in HPHM, my first reaction is often: “it could’ve been Jacob”. This is how it was with Orion, with the Wizard in White, and Callum was no different. Well, he was kinda different because I thought: “OMG, are you real Jacob??”. And at first, it was totally a joke. But then I talked with @thedoodlecat​ who inspired this whole theory. Because she pointed out that “Callum” means “dove” and that there’s a particular relationship between doves and peregrine falcons. You know what that relationship is?

And I know what you’re thinking: it’s JC we’re talking about, they don’t know what they’re doing at this point. And you’re not wrong! However, JC also loves to play with names. Alright, but where’s Jacob in all of that? Admittedly, Callum doesn’t have to be Jacob. But on the other hand… it does make sense. And I know, I know, I might be influenced by my desperate wish for vault!Jacob to be fake… But just bear with me, please.

First of all, we’ve spent way too much time on the whole mystery of where exactly Callum works and being just a janitor feels too random to be a coincidence, in my opinion. If Jam City simply needed someone to help MC with cursed artefacts, they could’ve made Callum a Curse-Breaker or an employee of any other department who happens to be very passionate about curse-breaking. But no, Callum is not just some guy. Even if he’s not secretly Jacob, I believe that Callum had some past with Peregrine/R, especially when we consider the meaning of his name.

Ok, so does it mean that Callum hides in the Ministry? Well, it’s possible. Although I think it’s also possible that he’s allowed to stay IF he works as a janitor. Being a janitor means that he has no real influence. R might even believe that he has no access to anything important. Moreover, the janitor’s job might be seen by them as humiliating on its own.

And by the way, here’s a funny side note for you. Remember when Merula was making fun of MC for being a janitor at the Ministry?

Back to Callum, though.

Ok, but if he is Jacob… Well, I assume that R would have to manipulate some memories of some people and basically erase Callum!Jacob from existence. That’s why Callum can’t really go to anyone for help: nobody remembers him. On top of that, R might find out about it sooner or later. So, he stays low. Moreover, a while ago (in this post), I talked about the letter R sent to Jacob after Duncan’s death, where they mentioned “Miss Green’s fate”. I pointed out then that it might refer to Olivia’s memories being modified and that it’d mean Jacob had to know about it. So… what if Callum does know about it? And he was absolutely heartbroken that Olivia didn’t recognise him when they met recently at the Ministry?

Also, let’s talk about Callum’s last name. Because yes, “McClintock” is a surname of Scottish and Irish Gaelic origin which fits Callum’s “Scottishness”. But you know what’s actually the first result for this surname? “Barbara McClintock”. And Barbara is well known for her research in genetics. In fact, she was the first woman to receive an unshared Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. So, here’s my question: why the hell JC chose so very specific last name? I mean, sure, it might be a coincidence. But why not one of the more generic Scottish surnames? Why not Campbell, Stewart or Murray? Well, what if McClintock’s genetic research is actually important?

Alright, I admit that this part might be the biggest stretch in the whole theory, but this name just seems odd to me. So, you know how I keep talking about MC and Jacob possibly being connected to the Cursed Vaults by blood? And how MC and Jacob are born Legilimenses, for example? The point is that there’s something going on when it comes to family, so perhaps the choice of “McClintock” was supposed to be a very loose connection to that? Because here’s the thing: Jacob we know from before the Portrait Vault was a huge nerd. And he would definitely get interested in a such potential connection and tried to study. And I’m sorry, but Callum McClintock totally gives “a huge nerd” vibes.

I mean, just look at them:

A) A huge nerd, an intellectual, loves reading old books, probably said: “the dustier, the better” at some point in his life. Would absolutely come up with his own code by modifying Ancient Runes (that would impress Rowan Khanna some years later).

B) A half-brain. Gets into fights after football matches and gets drunk with his bros.

Also, can I just say that Callum showed more concern about MC during a couple of minutes than Fugly Slut over the whole time since we got him out of that stupid portrait???

basically on youtube in the comments of httyd related videos there's this person who frequently pops up called dra-gozill-asau-r under the username @/ pr-imev-alya-utja13-05 (without the dashes, i put them there to avoid them finding this post - i do not want them finding this post oof). if you see them, ignore them. you'll recognise them by their classic phrases "you're a httyd 2 fanboy", "you're a httyd purist", "people are not wrong for defending the hidden world" and calling people "woman/girl/etc" in a derogatory manner. they clearly have issues and have been hyperfixating on attacking people with opinions different to theirs for years now. they will not see reason and realise that people are allowed to have differing opinions, they will just abuse and abuse and abuse. just block 'em and move on.

this person will pop up in the most random places 'defending' thw (by abusing people basically), and their reading comprehension must be in the negatives because it doesn't matter what you say to them, they ignore it in favour of abusing others. i made the mistake of interacting with them one time and my youtube channel got ass blasted with hate comments until i blocked them at which point they brought out the alt account. like i outright specified to this kid that i literally don't hold anything against anyone if they like thw and they responded with something along the lines of "and you say that we who like thw aren't true fans?" (like omg i said the opposite?? they reaching fr). they refuse to see reason and it gets under my skin.

this person then had the audacity to say to me that they're not even a fan of httyd (but they made the mistake of linking their twitter in their profile :/ i go to it so i can find out what kind of person i'm dealing with and what the most effective/least harmful way to approach them is,, and what do i see except this person claiming that they think win/ger from res/cue ri/ders is kinda hot). they are very clearly a dragons fan and they uhhhh thirst for a lot of various fictional dragons from various franchises which like, i got nothing against monster fuckers (im on the monster fucker site after all), i just think its funny that this person had the audacity to say that they're not even a fan of httyd when they're posting shit like aforementioned.

basically just block this person and move on is what i'm saying. please for the love of fuck do not attack this person or interact with em or anything, thats just weird. ignore em.

As I was suggesting you, you need a break and find yourself again. You're too focused on what others do, who they are, and compare yourself to something that doesn't even exist (online world is pretty much like movies these days) and try to act the same as them to fit in (no but fr, who cares what celebs do online or how long they are online? it's their life, let them do what the heck they want -plus, they're often a brand with legs, they're making money that way...). But anyway you cannot fit in something if you don't know who you are and what you're searching for and if you don't know where you want to fit in (and where you actually can fit in without losing yourself -which you probably already did, in order to not feel left out).

You are worthy, your life is very worthy, but your worth is not outside, your worth is inside of you. Same as your talents and whatever good you possess (and don't tell me you don't cause everyone does). You cannot find it online or in strangers online, and for sure you won't seeing if you keep comparing with others and what they seem to have... so stop trying to do so. If others have fun online and have found their own place there, let them. Who cares what they find of so cool there. But if you don't, then it's time for you to find what you find funny by taking a break. Put in effort (the one you were calling for so much in the other ask) and find in yourself and what you want and like. The only way to find your soul inside of your blob is to look in that blob that is you and finding your voice. You cannot let others tell you who you are: only you know.

But it's useless if I keep repeating myself and you can't see you are worthy and not caged (you know it but still, you cannot leave the comfort zone you have created: you feel like you won't ever fit in and you keep finding comfirmations of it out of any interactions you have online. If you don't work on how you see things and yourself, nothing will change for real). You can think with your mind, you can believe other things than what you're told by society or people that only want to sell a product/gain from what they do (I already answered an ask or two on this... were they yours?). You can do what you would have loved to do in any other time: it's not about this generation, it's about you and what you want... don't find excuses to keep yourself out of what you desire to do or how you desire to live. Don't blame it all on this society, where you live and the times we're living in. You still have a choice, you can act differently and who the heck should care about it? If it makes you happy, do it. But if it's really so, if you know you'd feel better out of it, it's not the internet the problem, it's you caging yourself in a cycle that doesn't even exist (but was well created to sell products again)...

For real, take a moment for yourself. Maybe journal about how you feel, what you want and what you're searching for and then go find it. It may take a while and some effort, but you will make it. Maybe your people aren't online but at the supermarket you usually visit, or at the library or they share any other interest with you offlline. Idk. If you need connections, first of all connect with yourself. Then, you'll be able to connect also with others the way you need.

As always my thoughts because no one asked

From least to fav here are my overall thoughts:

Urusei Yatsura (2022)

I am just not the target audience for this. This is probably a nostalgia ridden show that people who watched the original will love and enjoy but I am not that person and with the two eps I watched I had enough. The jokes were not funny to me all characters were annoying and yeah the animation is nice but I will not put myself through something I will not enjoy for it tbh. Watch it if you liked the original ig

Tonikaku Kawaii: SeifukU

I dislike tonikaku with a passion it gives go girl give us nothing to the negative 20 no flavor no taste still the same shiz as the show so yeah. Watch it if you liked the series lmao its more of the same

Shinobi no Ittoki

I guess…… Its really kinda bland and I can’t pinpoint why. The concept is interesting but it just doesn’t hold up in its execution and I dont care for it run sorry do better I guess

Fumetsu no Anata e 2nd Season

I try so hard to care, SO hard. Since season 1 I have found this show to be kinda…. All over. Like the only storyline I cared about was the one with the kid with the mask last season and since that its just been meh to me. Like, we already kinda know how everything is going to go and all the arcs are kinda the same, they show us someone, we care for them for like half an episode, they die, repeat.

Koukyuu no Karasu

I feel like this is a good show but I am just not the target for this adsfgh its a show you gotta pay attention to understand and a lot of history goes behind it and it just kinda bored me but I know its not bad. I just dont think its for me but that's okay I might keep watching it.

Eternal Boys 

Its okay. Its a nice concept and I have only watched like 3 eps but its a nice message I guess. Its short and whatever so it doesn't take much time to watch but its not something revolutionary. I like idol shows so maybe I am giving it more than what it is.

Mob Psycho

This is the one that gets me cancelled part 2 SKSKSK. I am not going to lie besties, I am not the biggest mob psyhco fan. Its okay, I just never got into the hyper around it sorry :(( I really wish I could because I know its a good story and I ddi like that last episode a lot but like,,,,, I feel like the story was over last season ASDFGH But hey I am glad y'all enjoyed it a lot!

Boku no Hero Academia 6th Season

I am ngl, I am like on ep 2 of bnha season 6 but have seen the Dabi scene like 20 times thanks to social media and I got no choice but to Stan. I dont like this arc of bnha as y'all know but it seems more interesting than last season and I like the way the animation direction is going so I will give them points for it.

Okay hear me out. This one is in a weird place but hear me out. I hate everything this anime stands for because it was such a cliche weird and ecchi but it was such an interesting train wreck I HAD to keep on watching every episode and when I least expected it I was suddenly on ep 6 and the twist left me screAmiNG. It kinda goes downhill again after ep 7 but just because it took me so off guard (dont wanna spoil it but aloO) it goes high up, gg 1 for the ecchi trash 0 for Maria this round.

Ngl this season of yowapeda hasn't been as hyped as I hoped for me but I care so much about the characters I will place it high up SKSKSKSK its basically more of the same; I honestly miss the upperclassman a lot but its okay my babies appear like for .2 frames and I start sobbing

THIS IS HOW YOU DO CUTE GIRLS (AND TSUKASA LY BESTIE) DOING CUTE STUFF IN A GOOD WAY. If you like Saiki K you'll like this show. I dont know how to explain it but it gives the energy from Saiki K and I loved it they are very important and relevant.

Laios:My husband like we're literally getting married i love him so much. I think people overexaggerate his weirdness and flatten his character in a very frustrating way like that which makes me sad because hes genuinely such an interesting and refreshing protagonist in a way where like he just does his own thing the whole time he doesntcare . AND he loves his friends and food and monsters life is beautiful and also he may become a king which is pretty awesome. I fucking love him bro i do wish he was a freak more often though to be honest because its funny but you know i hate fanon him for that reason too though so

MARCILLE: I LOVE HER SO MUCH SHES WONDERFUL SHES SO CUTE AND SMART AND COOL I LOVE GIRLS LIKE HER THAT ARE LIKE idk how to describe her character but its good guys. I think her fear of death and losing her loved ones is really interesting and i really like her dream sequences and stuff like that. i love when the rest of the group comforts her its very cute. i think one of my favorite moments with her is when laios comforts a kid version of her in her dream or when she was done using everyones dead bodies against the rabbits and brought them back to life and broke down about it that was soooo. Omfg i fucking love marcille. also shout out to marcilles succubus she has my taste fr. Oh Also shout out to laios's succubus that looked like a crazy beast version of her that was awesome. Also her relationship with falin is so forgive me for saying this word but "wholesome"

Senshi: Backstory interesting.He is my grandpa. that is all i love him but i dont have much to say about him
