Okay I'm going to chime in on this, because I do ship Anidala, in the right situation. They are the main relationship of the prequels. He loved her from the moment he met her, but sometimes love isn't enough. The Clone Wars, losing Ahsoka, Palpatine's grooming which was the big catalyst were stronger. He spent over a decade grooming Anakin.
The ruminations scene in Revenge of the Sith is one of my favorite, because they can feel each other, because she is pregnant with force sensitive children. Anakin was terrified of losing her and the babies, but despite it all, he did fall to the dark side.
He fell fully. You cannot just fall slightly and Anakin doesn't do anything halfway. He loved her very deeply. She was right that there was good left in him, but she didn't know that, because they were connected by the force. She knew that because she knew his heart.
Anakin hurt Padme deeply, but as a mother, she could have chosen to want to live for her children. The dying of a broken heart thing could have been avoided. But, that's what I love about Matthew Stover's novelization is it all already happened and nothing anyone does will change, as said in the beginning.
He fell to the dark side completely, when he pledged himself to his teachings, despite still loving her and the children they were going to have. Whether they felt any of each other's pain is unknown but when she died, Vader did force scream, which showed how much he did indeed love her.
But Vader is Anakin and Anakin is Vader. They are not separate. His loss he felt over her was losing her and the child, as well as what happened on Mustafar.
There is also 0 chance that Padme couldn't have talked him down on Mustafar. Obi-Wan couldn't and he knew Anakin better than anyone. Anakin was extremely powerful that night, and the dark side was extremely strong in him. He was convinced what he was doing was right and there was no talking him out of it.
He had turned against the Jedi (which I don't really have an issue with) and he'd been poisoned against Obi-Wan and Padme both.
While there are small moments in time, where there's a glimpse of goodness shown in him, there's no real growth on it until Luke comes into his life. Obi-Wan didn't make progrss in Kenobi, Ahsoka didn't when she fought him. He didn't want to deal witth how a lot of the choices he made, made him feel.
I did not mean for this to be this long, but like I said, I am an Anidala shipper sometimes. I don't buy into the lies that people try to tell, though.
But, I am an Anakin fan before I ship anything and the changes that happened, after he became Vader weren't ultimately about Padme.
He got to transition as a force ghost because Obi-Wan reached out to him. Anakin told him he was sorry and he was quickly told how to do so, by Obi-Wan.
The visits he made to Leia were his choice, as was his acceptance to understand why she hated him.
Though he loved Padme so much, he forged his own path without her.
I'm sory this is so long, but he had a long, rich history before and after his fall, that isn't all about her. She and the babies were so much a part of who he was, but not the only parts, and ultimately, not the most important.
I had to ask myself and my friend about what his destiny entails and in many ways, his destiny entails a lone journey, towars balance in many ways. I'm always willing to consider every perspective though.
I'm didn't say anywhere that Padme and Anakin didn't have a deep connection, they were the main romance of the prequels after all. I just corrected that you said he didn't fall completely. Lucas made a lot of cuts from both trilogies coincide and mirror each other, because of his whole "it's like poetry, it rhymes" thing. But yeah I do agree that Anakin and Padme are connected cause, again, they're married and that's the whole point of their marriage.
And I still can't believe Lucas let them bring Palpatine back in the sequels like, way to completely ruin everything Anakin did in the end.

My Last Jedi Review
I just saw the movie less than an hour ago so I thought it would be a good idea to just list out some of the things I liked, didn’t like and just my overall thoughts in general. Safe to say below the keep reading there will be SPOILERS.
To start, I have very strong, negative feelings about the direction Disney is taking Star Wars so I am pretty biased in that regard. Secondly, I’ll try and put events in order but this post is basically just me rambling.
Poe and Hux. Weird way to start the movie. But absolutely hilarious!
The first time we see Luke in this, I thought it was just hilarious when he just tosses away his father’s lightsaber. I actually have A LOT of issues with the lightsaber since we only see Luke’s iconic green lightsaber in a flashback... THE BLUE LIGHTSABER IS ANAKIN’S, DISNEY! HAVEN’T YOU WATCHED THE MOVIES????
Moving on, Even though we only see Paige (Rose’s sister) for a short moment in the beginning, I actually liked her a lot more than Rose. No idea why, I just did.
In that same scene, I honestly had trouble believing the Resistance bombers were so freaking slow! Bombers in the Clone Wars moved faster than that! What is up with that? I’m sure there will be some vehicle reference book to explain it, but it still sucks because it just sort of feels like after the Rebellion ended, shipwrights were just, “here’s an idea: we make bombers that can hold more bombs BUT we make them slower” *slow clap* what a brilliant idea! (not).
THANK GOD Kylo got rid of that fake Vader ass mask! It sounds as ridiculous as it looks! The shirtless scene wasn’t really necessary and while some may swoon at the scene, I don’t. Put.A.Shirt.On.
On the plus side, Kylo is a BIT more likable in this film... up until he goes dark side again. THEN he turns in the the little shit I originally thought him to be.
Reylo. NEVER in my wildest dreams did I think I would actually like this, But I did. The whole Force connection thing really hit me. Hard. Part of me wants to slap myself silly because of it, but the other part is screaming THEY WERE MADE FOR EACH OTHER! I am currently trying to stay firmly planted in the middle.
Luke wanting to Kill Ben makes 0 sense to me. I like how you have the two perspectives to look at: Ben seeing Luke trying to kill him, Luke trying to do the right thing to keep the balance. But I still can’t see Luke ever thinking killing is the right way to end the darkness. He didn’t even think to do it when fighting Vader, why would he think it when he was older and wiser?
Given that the Jedi Order is more than 2000 years old, I have my doubts about PAPER books surviving that long on an island without some protection like they have in the Vatican.
GET THAT STUPID YODA PUPPET OUT! I would have rather seen Anakin Skywalker or Obi-Wan Kenobi talking to Luke!
Rey’s parents. Such a mystery in TFA, such a bummer in TLJ. Glad she isn’t a Skywalker though.
Rey in general. Love Daisy. Hate Rey. She’s too powerful for no reason. Little to no training and she can do advanced Force things because... main character? Even Luke had his flaws! TLJ did try to make her a bit more believable but her faith and her hope never wavered like the other characters. I still stand firmly in the camp that says Rey is a Mary Sue.
Han’s Dice! So happy they included that!
Too. Many. Plots! Rey with Luke, Poe in the lead cruiser, Finn and Rose trying to find a hacker... It was a lot to keep up with. And as it neared the end, the plots spread wider AND somehow condensed at the same time. Plots weren’t really confusing, but it was just a lot to keep track of especially with most of it taking place over the course of a few hours.
Also with plots, Finn and Rose’s plot could have EASILY been fixed if they had taken a few minutes to find an actual parking spot! Add to that their plan was a complete FAILURE, and their actions led to the death of a good chunk of the Resistance... basically everyone almost died because of them.
When the bridge blew and Leia goes flying out, I nearly died! Leia can’t go out like that! And she didn’t. But how she survived is still kind of cheesy. This version of Leia is shown to have very little Force ability so her survival doesn’t make much sense in that way. Also the flying through space was just... weird.
Leia stunning Poe was a major surprise! I didn’t actually think she agreed with the Admiral but in the end it made sense! Still very surprising though!
When the Resistance shuttles were being shot, I couldn’t help tearing up! Not another brush with death! And when they landed on Crait, I’m actually in the middle of reading the Princess Leia YA novel and I was just “YES! I know that place!”
By the time they landed, I was starting to just wait for an ending. When Luke first shows, I thought cliff hanger. And then when Luke faces the walkers, cliff hanger. Basically I was just looking for endings.
Luke using Anakin’s lightsaber made no sense since we already saw it torn in half, and it made even less that Kylo didn’t seem to notice.
The battle was EPIC. And then to see it was actually a projection really impressed me, though watching Luke die was just too much!
I actually would have loved to see what they would have done from here with Episode IX and knowing Leia would have had a much larger role. But for this being her final film, I thought it was pretty good.
OVERALL: this turned out to mostly be a rant on eye rolls and wtf moments, BUT it was still a pretty good movie! Should you see it? I think so. Definitely worth seeing if you’re a Star Wars fan. If you’re more of a casual film goer, maybe not, unless you have a few hours to kill because it is LONG and it felt LONG. Compared with other Star Wars films, like TFA, this one does have a lot of parallels with the OT and the Reylo felt like it was trying to parallel itself with the Prequel Anidala romance. I have a lot of feelings about that, which I’ll probably do a post on later. Compared to the George Lucas Star Wars, once again, it felt weird mostly with it’s use of humor. But The Last Jedi is a good film. I still think this new trilogy falls short of the bar set by Lucas’s Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy, but it is better than The Force Awakens. And while I still believe Rogue One is the best Disney Star Wars film, it is clear that The Last Jedi came pretty close given what it had to work with. It is an entertaining film whose major flaws are the foundation TFA set and the length.

A Matter of Precedence - FN-2187 wasn’t the first, except for the time he was. Others have defied the First Order before, but none quite as spectacularly. (Finn, First Order)
So You Want to be a (Space) Wizard - Finn finds a mysterious book, takes an Oath, and starts one hell of an Ordeal. Crossover with Young Wizards. (Finn, Poe Dameron, Rey)
Old Haunts (All We’ve Ever Known) - Anakin and Obi-Wan as snarky Force ghosts during The Force Awakens. (Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, TFA cast)
Lady in Waiting - Rey’s spent so much of her life waiting it’s hard to know when to stop. Luckily, Poe’s there to give her the push she needs. (Rey, Poe Dameron, Leia Organa, Finn)
Not a Drop to Drink - On Luke’s island, Rey couldn’t quite get her mind around the sheer amount of water stretching out towards the horizon. (Rey, Luke Skywalker)
