Hey there! I don't know if you remember me, but I was the anon who sent you a thing a few months ago to warn you and others about the more abhorrent actions of the artist Namy Gaga (https://www.tumblr.com/dearest-painter/747620174237138944/so-sorry-to-bother-you-but-i-saw-someone-in-a?source=share).

In light of recent events, I felt like doing a follow-up was one of the best things to do since:

I discovered some new information that I wasn't aware of at the time.

Certain events have happened which completely caught me off guard.

Content warning for discussions of victim-blaming, harassment, inappropriate/illegal NSFW artwork, and toxic behaviour (including but not limited to queerphobia).

I discovered a Tumblr account Namy or a fan made in July last year (coincidentally around the time of the victim's lawsuit). I initially theorised it was created to mock any critics Namy had on that platform. As of me writing this, the blog has changed. BUT it has the same username as before (which you can easily find while searching "Namy Gaga" or "Namy G" on here), CONFIRMING THAT SHE DID IN FACT MAKE THAT ACCOUNT TO INITIALLY HARASS PEOPLE.

Originally, I talked about a comic she made in 2018 where she was gatekeeping LGBTQ+ experiences. As of me writing this, she still has not taken it off her Deviantart (I have the link to prove this - please avoid the comments for your mental health as a lot of them are either argumentative, gross or blatantly transphobic: https://www.deviantart.com/namyg/art/LGBT-Correct-answer-Meme-757868018). I did see someone speculate that Namy may have had internalised queerphobia at the time (due to how some people with internalised queerphobia tend to police other people's queerness), but I am also aware that someone who is LGBTQ+ can police other people's queerness and NOT have internalised queerphobia (perhaps there are other reasons OR they're just a you-know-what). That's just my opinion tho and I'm open to hear yours (if you want ofc).

As of me writing this, she has opened up about being genderfluid and still identifies as sapphic/queer (not specifically lesbian tho). While a part of me wants to believe that Namy has grown from her past queerphobic actions and opinions, I am of the firm belief that just because someone is LGBTQ+ (regardless of their experiences or the terms they use) doesn’t excuse/dismiss bad behaviour. - from a bisexual person with multiple LGBTQ+ friends

Remember when I talked about a Google Drive that Namy made to paint one of her victims as a liar - using actual screenshot evidence (of text conversations, etc.) that could definitely look incriminating in a court of law (if the victim's initial lawsuit were to progress any further, which I haven't found any updates about as of me writing this). TURNS OUT THERE WAS A CRUCIAL DETAIL I DIDN'T MENTION WITHIN THAT GOOGLE DRIVE. Specifically, a recorded call (video format) between Namy and one of the voice actors for her FNAF AU project, which she put up in March 2024. While I cannot understand Spanish and there were not English subtitles, what I could understand was that Namy was trying to confront the voice actor about the victim "cheating on her with them” when the victim was most likely trying to confide in the voice actor and tell them what Namy was doing to her.

Speaking of which, as of July this year, Namy has privated the Google Drive that she released in December 2023 (probably to cover her backside legally, bc of backlash from her critics, reasons which I've detailed below, or all three).

Within the same month, Namy posted a vent drawing (her current self punching her "old self") both on her Devianart and Facebook: https://www.deviantart.com/namyg/art/Namy-G-vs-Namy-Gaga-1079871130. Attached was a paragraph explaining that, upon going to see a therapist, she realised that her actions from 2023 and before (some of which I detailed previously - including the inappropriate/illegal NSFW) were unacceptable and that she has since apologised for those behaviours. IF THIS IS TO BE BELIEVED, I HAVE THIS MESSAGE FOR NAMY ON THE OFF-CHANCE SHE READS THIS: I understand that you want to unlearn toxic behaviours, to unlearn transphobic and other queerphobic mindsets, and to unlearn the idea that promoting inappropriate/illegal NSFW on public platforms is normal (since I’m of the belief you may have been desensitised/pressured into thinking it was normal). And I admire/respect that desire to change. But it WILL take a really long time and a lot of effort for people to forgive you, especially the people you hurt (if they're inclined to forgive you at all). I’m not accusing you of being Satan or anything like that, but no amount of learning from the incidents regarding the queerphobia, the narcissism and the NSFW artwork is going to change this fact: YOU STILL BROKE THE LAW IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY TWICE, NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO PAINT IT. Even IF it is true your first victim forgave you, you will NOT be immune to the law and someone will eventually report you. And about one of your newest posts on your Tumblr: WHY ARE YOU ACTING SURPRISED WHEN YOUR SECOND VICTIM STILL TELLS HER AUDIENCE THAT YOU HURT HER?! IF her lawsuit does progress and you end up being convicted in court (with the evidence YOU used to paint her as the “bad guy���), don’t be surprised if you get jail time. 

I apologise for my strong wording in that last point, but I felt it was important to address.

So to clear things up about my thoughts on twitter.

I like Twitter the most but the Musk's constant stunts as well as too many viral contents with the same vibes somewhat exhausted me. People/artists there begin to create/draw a few specific types of themes to try and attract audiences as well as to appease Musk's idiotic policies and algorithm much more. You would recognize the pattern if you pay a bit of attention to it, most of the viral contents would always be: gag, nsfw, wholesome stuff, fanarts that have these specific themes, meme, shitposting, hot takes, and toxic takes bc people are exhausted, hot and bothered due to summer heat. The posts may look different but the vibes would always be the same, it's the key to success on the internet. Or at least on a specific site like the current Twitter. .

and idk I guess I just feel kinda overwhelmed with all of that, especially when I see professional working creatives don't even get as much exposures as what I listed from above (for example, Quentin Tarantino, and many other storyboard artists, etc). It's discouraging, no wonder they all use LinkedIn or just uploading stuff to Instagram for fun. But don't listen to me too much, I'm just a rando lol

But. There's always a but.

I still want to return and update things there. Although my stuff don't have that many fans, some readers who loved, followed and commented on my work made me really happy. I love reading their thoughts and I remember quote retweeting some of my favorite comments from them from time to time. So yeah, I would still hope to return to it soon even when there's no one left behind to read my stuff lol. 🦋 Project Chrysalis, the Colorful Butterfly 🦋

Influenced by the song "Butterfly" by smile.dk and the remix by Kors k feat. Starbitz in Dancerush stardom, this Yumi got a butterfly-themed upgrade with some extra abilities like illusion and summoning butterflies for distraction. The species she's based on is a peacock swallowtail (Papilio blumei)

She's still keeping her seriousness in fighting, but she is easily flustered when someone pets her antenna hair. (Yep, the antennae is actually her hair). The bracelet is an transformation item. Project Chrysalis is a part of Mythic / Mystical Upgrades AU that will be into 4 parts, each part focusing on Ulrich, Yumi, Odd and Aelita.

🦊 Japanese Fantasy, the Extroverted Fox Maiden 🦊

Before you ask, this is the official rebranding of the iroha uta AU bc I really suck at romance. The old color scheme has too much orange, so I made her to be more like a miko (shrine maiden) and Aelita's helper. So, no geisha makeup, she still does wear her red eyeshadow/eyeliner tho!

Fox Yumi has fire controlling abilities, in the form of fireballs! sadly she can't turn into an actual fox. She can also change her eye color into red whenever she has any strong emotions (mostly being agitated)

This new Lyoko outfit is only worn in the new Japanese sector, named Yamato sector!

👹 Oni Yumi, the Spunky Demon and Guardian 👹

I already posted her fixed design in my previous codejuly entry.

She's part of an unnamed AU, but here are some quirks of her. She is loosely based of one of my fav Hololive Vtubers, Nakiri Ayame. Her katana blade is her secondary weapon, and when she draws her blade, she also can manipulate fire with her katana. Aside from it, she can also create flowers... with toxic pollen. Her fans can also spread the pollen in a greater range.

The red flower underneath her eye and on her left shoulder are curse marks btw. Oni!Yumi always emphasize that those aren't tattoos, those are legit, actual curse marks. Her anger is one of her main flaws. She can change her eye color to hazel when she's really enraged, but as for now, I haven't drawn her "hazel eyes" mode. Personality wise, she's spunky, but can be ruthless and unapologetic when she finally snapped.

🌸 Upgraded AU, the Elegant yet Cool Onna-Musha 🌸

P.S. Onna musha is another term of onna bugeisha, which means "woman martial artist". It is also sort of a wordplay, bc in season 1-3 Yumi's Lyoko form is a traditional geisha.

Tbh she has a lot of changes. Her initial upgraded design was more Chinese-looking, not Japanese (bc my dumbass brain thought that using halloweencostumes.com was a good idea for costume design), so I changed it entirely to be a mix of original design and garage kids fused together. Oh, she also wears black fingerless gloves, a breastplate, a Japanese-styled shoulder guard/pad, and bandages on her left arm. No full body design, but i might change her boots a bit.

I prefer using this route for Yumi in my post-S3 AU, and I already hate S4 for making Yumi's Lyoko form look more like a bunnygirl, so... welp. This AU Yumi doesn't have changes personality-wise to the normal Yumi, but probably... I'll change bits of it gradually. Her secondary weapon will be a naginata!

Basically it's season 1-3 Yumi with cat ears and tail because of a "DNA fusion" with her adopted pet cat. I might make a nekomata variety of this, but let's see.

People been saying she looks like Nezuko or any other Kimetsu no Yaiba character, but this design is more influenced by the geisha in identity V.

According to Epsilon, Onryo Empress Yumi is not awkward at all and is a superb seductress. Which, while great for Ulrich, is not great for everyone else. One look at the Onryo Empress and you understand that this is a true queen of darkness.

💀 X.A.N.A.-Yumi, Simple But Intimidating 💀

X.A.N.A.-Yumi is personally my most favorite design of all these AU Yumis I ever created. She is basically a fusion between oiran, geisha and kunoichi. Sorry for the messy motifs of her kimono whatsoever, those are supposed to be lilies.

I think that anon was referring to you making innuendos in some of your SoMa posts (ex: the one with black dress maka and soul having “kinks”) and reblogging sexual fanfiction involving the two. Also “aging up” to lewd them is a poor excuse. You’re still an adult looking at minors and imagining them in a sexual situation. However, if you’re only aging up for cool AUs/crossovers or to relate to the characters more that’s okay. Stop making excuses and take accountability when called out.

Okay, first of all, if I unknowingly offend anyone with my art, I apologize. I apologize too if you’re uncomfortable with my contents.

But I will still continue hold my ground. I do take accountability. I explain myself. If you or the anon doesn’t like my reasons, then that’s not my problem. I have zero (0) obligation to align my opinion to other’s liking.

So,

I do admit I ship two minors. But what of it? I’m not actually wanting them to bone when they’re 13. I ship them firstly because I love their dynamic and I want them to be together when they’re older, not when they’re 13. The sexual side of their relationship just came naturally after I imagine them growing up.

On the other side, you can’t tell me teenage kids don’t have fantasies already. it just happens with puberty, dear. it’s natural. The thing is, Soul and Maka are already past puberty in my adult Black Blood Dress art.

I do ship adult characters. I ship Stein and Marie, for example, but I can’t control which character I like to end up with whom, and neither can anyone. When I find a ship dynamic good, then I ship it.

What we’ve had here is fandoms full of minors who are still growing, yes. But sadly, minor characters are not going to be minor forever.

Think about, let’s see, Naruto and Hinata. They’re both were like twelve at the start of their series, but people were already shipping them. But then we got Shippuuden, we got The Last, then we got Boruto. We got to see them getting older and we got a broader choice of their appearances. But Naruto and Hinata were still originally minor characters if we think about this your way.

We just got more chance to see them growing up compared to Soul and Maka, which we only got a single timeskip, and it was not even a long one.

If we actually got to see them as actual adults, I would prefer to draw them in their adult counterparts, but sadly, we don’t have them in this fandom. So I just have to guess and headcanon how they would be when they’re older.

Is the core point of the argument is to not make adult art of them at all and only make them pure 13 yo forever?

I don’t know about you, but I think it’s a natural thing to think of how your favorite characters will grow up and who they would end up with and how they would interact, whether sexual or not. That’s like one of the core points of the whole shipping thing in general. And I think it’s the same for many people, considering how many people doing contents of aged-up characters in and out of Soul Eater fandom.

If that kind of thing is considered gross, then well, I can’t change your mind because our opinion is simply different. Because the base of my opinion is that it’s okay of they already grew up and have adult mindsets.

So it got me thinking, is the whole point of the argument is to not shipping them altogether because they were minors?

if we’re going by this line of thinking, then the proper solution for this is to stop shipping any minor character from any fandom at all. Which, while it is honestly an ideal thing, we all know that it is absolutely impossible. I’m not gonna pretend this is absolutely not a sinful thing to do, but let’s face reality. We can’t control what people like, guys.

What I’m saying is, this is not simply a SoMa problem if we talk about age.

BnHA, Haikyuu, HxH, A:TLA, and hundreds of other fandoms, they’re all have numerous minor characters, yet people are still shipping them and still make NSFW contents for them. Hate to break it to you and I’m not saying that it’s 100% okay, but it’s just a painfully ordinary thing to do in fandom life, given over half of the casts are minors.

So what should I do if I still want to enjoy their relationship but still want them to be decent and not making them creepy? I imagine them older and consenting.

I do imagine them in an intimate setting, yes I’m not going to deny, but I repeat; only when they’re older and already have a consenting mind. I prefer to think of them as adults than straight up drawing them with baby faces and, for example, landing them in a jokingly lewd situation like in the actual manga. (see Black Star and Hiro peeping on the girls and call it training/power-up)

Secondly, I don’t ‘age them up’ to ‘lewd’ them. My main reason to age them up, specifically in canonverse, isn’t even originally for shipping purposes, but mainly because I don’t feel right for children to be in their dangerous situation and it’s more realistic to have them older than to have them as child soldiers. Them being older means they are capable to think as adult and understand their situation.

Also, lewd is an adjective word, not a verb. It means ‘offensive sexual behavior’, which is not something I intended to do. Forgive me, but I fail to understand which part of ‘two consenting adults in a relationship thinking about the other in a sexual way’ is an offensive sexual behavior if they have genuine mutual romantic feelings.

‘Only aging up for cool AUs/crossovers or to relate to the characters more is okay ’ implied that the idea of the so-called ‘sexualizing’ is acceptable if it’s not in canonverse. Which is, basically defeated the whole purpose of your opinion because in the end, they’re still the same characters, AU or not.

There is a difference when you’re ‘looking at a minor character and imagine them in a sexual situation’ and ‘looking at a minor character and imagining how they interact when they’re older and consenting.’ If you can’t see the difference, then I cannot help you to understand my point of view.

Also...... Forgive my poor wording of ‘hooking-up’. I admit I made a mistake because english is not my first language and I’m not that familiar with all the slang, as in my mind ‘hooking up’ is ‘the beginning of a relationship’ rather than having sex. So yeah, my mistake. What I meant was ‘getting together’ as in admitting their feelings to each other.

But even so, I also admit I thought 17 is okay bc 17 is already the age of consent in my country, and that may have affected my opinion a little. I just couldn’t help the circumstances of how I grew up and I apologize if it lead me to make a wrong immediate thought.

TL,DR: I’m not claiming that my opinion and choice are absolutely right, but if I want to ship them, I rather choose to have them as adults AND HAVE ADULT MINDSETS rather than having them as kids.

Your opinion is valid too, but sadly, I still think that calling someone out behind their back when they’re just minding their own business and just wanted to share what they have created, like what that anon had done, is a rude and cowardly move.

I respect both your and that anon’s opinion, but the right way to voice it is not to harass other artist and calling them ‘sick pedophiles’ and ‘creep’ in anonym just because their shipping preference is not to your liking.

Since the whole point is to not put them in sexual situation or even suggestion at all and the core point of ‘Shipping’ means to put a pair in romantic relationship, what I can conclude from this is to not shipping SoMa at all, or at least only platonically and in asexual way, which I must say, I cannot do.

Good morning! Whats your favorite show/movie? Who are your favorite characters? Why do you like them so much? Also!! Did you have a good sleep?

Okay so I was a film major for a while, and I have opinions. 

Penny Dreadful 

I love this show. Like, so much. I adore it. I can not get enough of that show. Just all of the imagery, and the fantastic writing and acting. The episode intro alone is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. Eva Green is a goddess and I love everything she’s been in. The take on classic horror stories is So Good, and it actually became the inspiration for my Gay Frankenstein story! (Started as a stitch AU, and then went completely OC after I had Ideas) but the show itself is so intimate? I think it’s largely that the period they’re in, everything was so repressed and restricted. So when the characters break out of those moments, it’s more meaningful. And the love-hate relationship between Ms. Ives and Malcolm in season one? Exquisite.  I could literally write essay’s about this show, but I’ll restrain myself and just say: it’s the best ensemble show I’ve ever seen. The characters come together, but they also each have their own distinct lives that sometimes intersect, but in s2 especially, are quite separate. They are constant with one another like ensemble shows usually portray. Also gothic horror and romance? My absolute favorite. 

Anything by Guillermo del Toro

This man Owns My Entire Soul. I’m not even joking, everything he writes and directs is perfection. Crimson Peak is probably my favorite (I have a stitch AU for this too ;) ) because again, Gothic horror and romance. I’m a slut for that shit. Also Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain? Delightful casting. I think it’s obvious by now that I love tragic relationships, so their dynamic is *chef’s kiss* amazing. they’re so damaged. And this quote right here is one of the BEST things I’ve ever read: 

“But the horror... The horror was for love. The things we do for love like this are ugly, mad, full of sweat and regret. This love burns you and maims you and twists you inside out. It is a monstrous love and it makes monsters of us all.”

Engrave that on my headstone, please?? I’ve got a sort-of Dorian Gray AU (it’s delightful) that’s basically built on this entire premise. Mitch makes the mistake of falling in love with Stiles, and does many terrible things because of it. Mostly to himself, at least. 

I think my love of Crimson Peak is very closely tied with The Shape of Water. another beautiful movie, I could wax poetic about this forever. it was beautifully written, and such an artistic movie. I love the way it was filmed, and the set design, and all of the subtle imagery. Such as Elisa’s apartment being cast in cooler tones, it always felt very damp and had evidence of water damage, compared to Giles’, a mirror image of her own, in more warm tones. This is another one I could (and have) write essays about. There is so much packed into this movie, from the themes on toxic masculinity and entitlement, to the conversation on queerness and race and disability, and how all the various relationships are portrayed. Like. there is so much to pick apart in this movie. 

Aside from that, ofc Hell Boy deserves an honorable mention because i grew up on those movies. I’m pretty sure the Golden Army especially is responsible for who I am today, given all the lore on the fae in that universe. Wow, that explains so much about me... Also one of my first WoW characters was an elf named Nuala xD I still have her, too, and it’s been like 12 years lol

Near-Future Sci-Fi

Sci-fi is one of my favorite genres, I am a huge nerd for theoretical and astrophysics. But my favorite kind of sci-fi is the stuff that still takes place on Earth, rather than epic battles in space. Ex Machina and Annihilation are at the top of that list. Alex Garland is another writer/director that I love. He has the same kind of approach as del Toro, where he puts a lot of fine details into his work. And I love that it’s very cerebral; there are so many layers to Ex Machina. My English 101 prof actually refused to analyze it in class when I suggested it to him, because he didn’t think my class could. Basically handle? Dissecting that movie? Because a lot of it comes across as very surface level, but in some cases when you look deeper, it’s actually suggesting the opposite of what you might think at first glance. (And he was right, my fellow students were awful. I miss that class though, it was one of my favorites T_T Mr. Ryder was an awesome dude and super chill.) 

Morgan is another good example. As you can see, I fucking love androids lol. Which brings me to another of my all time favorite movies: Cloud Atlas. I could literally watch this movie endlessly, I love it so much. The acting, the writing, the filming, all of it is top notch. And one thing they did in the movie that didn’t come across in the book, was reusing the same actors through the different eras in the book. That was just so neat, because it really encapsulates how connected these souls are, as we follow the threads of their story throughout time. If you haven’t seen the movie, I can’t recommend it enough.  

Another one I always think of alongside Cloud Atlas, even though they aren’t related at all, is Predestination. It’s a great movie that explores the idea of fate and free will in a really clever way, utilizes time travel in a very organized way that I think was neat (think Umbrella Academy. They even use briefcases! As you can see, I love sci-fi bureaucracy, it’s fun. In fact The Bureau is another movie I enjoyed) and the main character is actually, explicitly trans, which was cool. You basically get to see the entire story of their life, and I don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s just. So good. Mindfuckery galore. 

Shoot, and I almost forgot! Arrival! That is one of the best movies, and another one I could watch nonstop. It focuses on mathematics and linguistics and I swear to god, I almost altered my entire college course because of this movie. Amy Addams is brilliant, Jeremy Renner is so soft and nerdy, and again, it has an amazing take on time travel. I am very particular about how time is handled in Sci-fi, and this portrayal was one of my favorite. (Most of my physics studies have been dedicated to the theory of time, so like. Strong Opinions.) 

Fantasy

Stardust! It wasn’t until Good Omens can out that I realized Neil Gaiman is responsible for most of the stories I loved as a kid lol, and I had no idea he wrote stardust! But that is such a beautiful movie (I have a Stardust AU lol) and it’s definitely one of my comfort movies. Captain Shakespeare is one of the best characters ever, bless Robert de Niro. I would die for him. Fun fact, i had no idea Ipswitch was a real place until like. 2019. I 100% thought it was made up for the movie 😂

Alongside Stardust, I’ve always loved The Golden Compass. It’s fantasy, but also with that old-timey steampunk science feel, which is so fun and surprisingly difficult to find! 

Mortal Engines also has the same kind of feel, and it was such an epic movie in every sense of the word. I’m a little sad that after all the work that went into it, it didn’t get a dedicated following or fan base, because I feel there’s so much potential in it. But at the same time, fandom tends to gather around media that has plenty of flaws for us to repair with gold, and there wasn’t much room for that in Mortal Engines. 

I’m going to put Jupiter Ascending here even though it technically fits with the sci-fi, because that section is long as fuck and also this movie has such a fantastic feel. Mila Kunis? beautiful. The CGI? beautiful. Eddy Redmayne? One of the best villain portrayals i’ve ever seen. The whole oedipal vibe he had was immaculate, as was their portrayal of reincarnation, and just. The world building. GOD. I get so weak for through world building. Also the fkn intergalactic bureaucracy when they’re basically at the space DMV? One of my all time favorite scenes in movie history. 

Horror

I have very little room in my life for horror. As I said, I have strong movie opinions, especially when it comes to horror movies. I don’t like how most of them rely on cheap jump scares and overused gore and gratuitous rape scenes, instead of, y'know, actual good writing. 

Which is EXACTLY why I adore It: Chapter 1 & 2. It has none of those things, but still manages to be so terrifying. They are my favorite horror movies, and I’m saying this as someone who has genuine childhood trauma bc of the novel. Like. I couldn’t shower/take baths alone until I was almost 10 T_T When I was 6-7 and saw kids play by storm drains, I would run over screaming about how Pennywise was going to get them. Like, I had issues man. I was terrified to see the first one, and wouldn’t go until I could go with my best friend after she had already seen it, so she could warn me when something scary was about to happen 😂

And, one of my favorite aspects of the movie, and the thing that gave me Mad Respect for Any Muschietti? The way he filmed Bev and her father. They have a character who is literally being molested, but they never once have to show it. And yet their interactions are still so viscerally upsetting to watch. Sexploitation puts me off of most horror, and the fact that Muschietti doesn’t use it here, even when it would be actually somewhat justified? *chef’s kiss*. I love him. 

I love horror as a concept, I’m just really picky about it because I expect the writing to be good. I don’t like short cuts. But in a lot of cases, even if I don’t enjoy the movie itself, I love to watch analysis videos on youtube! I love to see the philosophy and symbolism in different horror movies, even if i don’t like to watch the movies themselves. It’s a fun hobby.

ok ok jokes, ill go more in depth... some of this is taken from things ive written before but not posted. also for anyone reading this im non bee nary so know that im not trying to describe the experiences of different identities in first-person, i’m basing this off of both my own and my friends’ experiences... none of this is “OMG YES CHARACTER ANGST >:))” but rather depicting personal struggles in fictional characters, so just know that  the more difficult subjects that may be covered are not there just to see the character in pain, but rather to think about their eventual resilience against it and development afterwards

for geralt and yennefer i have more specific reasons why i think being transgender actually fits with their canonical characters & related story arcs, and then for the rest i have headcanons and maybe some reasoning but not a lot.

geralt: geralt already represents how a struggle with toxic masculinity and expectations of masculinity can influence one who wants to be seen as masculine to deny and bury their emotions. him being trans develops upon the aspect of his struggle with emotions, ive seen my friends who are transmasculine / myself when i used to ID as transmasculine struggle with showing emotions bc of feeling like you’re going to be misgendered if you shed a single tear. in canon, we already learn that kaer morhen has a bit of a macho culture (just fyi eskel and lambert and coen are trans too now, don’t go getting any idea that those guys are cis) and i believe that the “witchers have no emotions” thing is like 5% actual biology and 95% being raised to fight and not to feel. vesemir is a good father but he just wasn’t very emotionally nurturing, it’s the caste’s way of raising kids that geralt breaks out of.

i think geralt’s self-image also speaks a lot to the feelings of harsh internal transphobia. he constantly others himself from others and feels like people view him as different, which is metaphorical for any marginalized group under the sun, but also is very common for lgbt ppl. again this is smth ive really struggled with within the past few years so im just projecting/know what it feels like and feel that how geralt sees himself in canon is similar to a view suffering from internalized transphobia.

geralt's character already redefines manhood because he has to learn what it means to be a good father. and i think him being trans would be representative of his constant learning and growth as a person, yet also somewhat involved with his self loathing and feeling like just Him Existing is an affront ... but of course he unlearns this with time and love from others and all of his character development

yennefer: yennefer’s whole backstory revolves around defining who she is and defying the people who mistreated her and told her she was nothing. canonically yennefer of vengerberg is the story of the successful self-made woman... her life as janka she would rather forget, no one calls her by that name, and no one ever would because its not who she is nor who i think she ever was. 

shes incredibly strong-willed and knows what she wanted from life but some things are terrifying to reach out for, like love and acceptance. yennefer has a conflict with love and being loved because that was never a safe topic for her ... (also sapkowski handled this specifically poorly imo, but:) yennefer canonically struggles with being loved for who she is. i think she deals so much with her previous abuse and again, expectations from parents, and coming to terms with the fact that she survived it all. also this isnt even touching upon her arc regarding motherhood. wanting to give a child your everything and everything that you never had... the love and kindness that no one gave you...

ciri: ciri hesitated to ever identify with “girl” or “boy,” she’s also i think the representation of childhood in general, she’s naturally curious about gender presentation as she ages and just never really cares to commit to gender. i think she’d say she was a girl but only reluctantly bc she just doesn’t care much.

milva: ok unfortunately i currently think milva is the token non-trans friend (she’s nonbinary just doesnt think of herself as trans) but it’s only because her major arc in baptism of fire revolves around her pregnancy and miscarriage and just bc she is not trans doesn’t mean she doesn’t go through her own difficult struggling process surrounding her womanhood. she struggles enormously throughout the series and in her backstory with defining herself between two rigid identities: the feminine maria and the cutthroat milva. in her talk with geralt, she reveals how she feels trapped between these two identities and feels like they cannot coexist. i feel like she’s a nonbinary/gender non-conforming butch* lesbian whose struggles with sexuality intersect her struggles with gender and what it means to her to be a gnc woman. also you have to consider that milva was raised in a small village in lower sodden so she understood gender in the very strict roles ascribed to men and women, so she felt like she couldn’t be a woman unless she was this very traditional idea of what a woman is “supposed to be like,” which she’s both been trying to shape herself to be and also running away from simultaneously. she learns to accept herself within the hansa bc they love and support her for who she is, and she doesn’t need to be strictly feminine or masculine to be understood by them

* i know the terms nonbinary and gnc and butch didn’t exist in the 1260s tyvm, i’m just saying this as how i interpret her in a modern context

regis: gender is a human sociological construct so basically don’t ask him unless you’re prepared to listen for 20 minutes. vampires can exist noncorporeally so they can exist without gender, also i hc the telepathic vampiric language is nongendered as it’s a transmission of pure thought, will, and force, so it doesn’t even use any grammar. i also hc that vampires just appear the way they feel in terms of appearance and age (e.g., regis at around 300 when he died still looked 25 bc he was as stupid as a 25 year old, now he’s calmer and understands more, so he looks middle-aged). when chilling out with humans regis will be referred to as a man bc that’s just how he appears but it’s an identity he had to learn about and adopt, not something he was assigned. most vampires look androgynous anyways bc they just feel androgynous, how are you gonna feel a gender when you don’t know what a gender is... if you HAD to understand him with human labels / put it in a modern context (like if i was making an modern real life AU) i’d say he’s a nonbinary trans man. 

cahir: much like geralt i think cahir’s story is one of living up to expectations, but cahir’s actually takes it a step further because his major motivation in his backstory is trying to prove to his mother that he can be a good son that will make her proud and gain honor for the family... he seeks validation from external sources but faces ruin when he learns that war is not the way to prove one’s prowess and skill

angouleme: shes trans and i simply say so bc shes very cool and funny and i dont think a cis person could be this cool and funny. also i think the story of a runaway teen who was abandoned by her biological family and found solace in a new family is both very good and featured in a lot of trans ppl’s narratives. she kind of exudes this “im finally at a point in my life where i’m safe and cared for, i can start HRT now, let’s gooOOoooOOooo” energy.

But I do have a few things to say, regardless, because I found specific phrases you used, to be sketchy/unclear at best.

Warning tho : this is going to delve into a discussion of "rape and sexuality" from a real life perspective, since the fandom seems so bent upon drawing parallels to reality and compare fiction and irl examples. If you find that uncomfortable, block the tag "tw:rape" and scroll past.

Putting aside the issue of the subject matter of the threads for a second, I'll focus on the other part : about *posting publicly*. I talked to three separate followers of the twt artist, who also happen to be my tumblr mutuals, and they basically confirmed the same thing : there was no "open discussion", in the sense, that, they did so either on Privatter (assuming you know how it works) or they did in the comment threads on their *personal twitter account*, and only those who were willing to engage in such a discussion, went ahead and joined. They did not encroach on anyone's space and invite them in forcefully.

I'm putting the screenshots of conversation I've had with one of my friends regarding this, and as you can see, none of it was *open for public viewing*

Also, here's the artist's own message that's pinned to their account :

Let me put this in perspective : suppose you're not into kpop (I picked a random example, btw) and find it weird and flamboyant, and you generally avoid it altogether. While scrolling through tumblr, you stumble upon a hardcore kpop blog, you're totally put off by the contents and you complain to your mutuals about how ABC person indulges in kpop and you found it weird and unappealing.

But my point is, there was nothing public about the said blog or account, because, by nature, every blog or account is a person's private space for expression of ideas. Yes, tumblr, twitter and other social media platforms are all *public* in the sense that they are hosted on public domains and anyone with an access to the Internet can stumble upon any website or blog listed therein. But, you, being a responsible, well discerning person, willingly stepped onto a personal blog or acc on which the owner was likely to present their own views, and started complaining about what you found there. Your statement implies, that you willingly browsed through the comment threads until the point you spotted these uncomfortable discussions and you voluntarily exposed yourself to the same.

I find it highly confusing how you generalised something as sensitive and complex as psychological behaviour on behalf of a bunch of strangers you never actually interacted with (or confirmed their views on the said matter) and proceeded to label them as "people who liked rape".

What does the statement "liking rape" mean anyway? And, does anyone who talk about or discusses rape, in the context of fanarts and fanfiction, and that too, "rape fantasy" in this case, (but I'll get to it in a moment) automatically becomes someone who likes the act? Or condones it happening in real life, to real people or situations? I'm curious as to which aspect of rape they talked about 'liking' (since your statement implies they explicitly stated so) : was it the pain, the trauma, the physical and psychological stress, or the violence and the sense of dominance over a helpless, real life person?

If you do have an answer supported by evidence, let me know, I'll modify my response gladly.

It brings me to my third point : these artists or the people who commented, were discussing, not about real life rape, but a fantasy situation in which they put two fictional characters together and made a fanart of them (the composition of the art in question is described in the conversation above).

Deriving pleasure from the actual act of rape or sexual violence is a pathological condition and needs medical or psychiatric treatment.

Deriving pleasure or indulging in paraphilic sexual fantasies, however, is not uncommon. I'll redirect you to @iamtrashforash 's post here that describes this issue more coherently. I'll also point you to articles written on PsychologyToday, based on research done on this specific topic of "Rape Fantasy" that I found, and I think everyone should have a look at them :

If I remember correctly, the actual comment I saw in the screenshot circulating around, regarding the controversy, went something along the lines of "I love seeing Ash's pained face in this situation", and that's what made people lose their minds. There was outrage over "How could you do that with Ash, a CSA survivor? It sends a bad message to them, it's triggering, it's disrespectful, you are disgusting, etc etc."

But, my own conversations with three people who are in real life CSA survivors, two of them who reached out to me in my DMs over the last two days, have given me a very different idea about what these people actually think regarding the art. Here's the hot take : they did not find it disturbing or offensive to themselves personally.

In fact, they pointed out, that they saw it as a fictional scenario, were well aware of the differences between the artist's intent and their potential real life behaviour (FYI, none of them drew the conclusion that either the artist or the people discussing it, "liked rape").

The fact that the comment threads were openly talking about indulging in such a fantasy is what seemed to baffle the more outspoken and outraged people, who proceeded to harass and send hate messages to the creators. But here's the fact : these fetishes have existed for as long as humanity has, and will continue to do so, regardless of whether you crucify a handful of people in a small corner of a fandom or not.

If you're familiar with the yaoi manga genre, or any adult erotica games (I can't cite any examples bc I don't have enough details, but I do know they exist), you'll find a plethora of works where all sorts of fantasy situations are presented : rape is fetishised, there's shape-shifters (vampires or otherwise), A/B/O dynamics, even bestiality. In other words, a major prevalence of themes like dominant, aggressive behaviour contrasted with helpless, passive behaviour as far as sexual situations go. And they are thriving. They have a huge pool of audience out in the world.

Whether these fetishes are "morally right or wrong" to indulge in, is not a question I have any authority to debate, because I'm not a clinical psychologist, or a behavioural scientist.

Personally speaking, I happen to be a demisexual person. Any discussion of sexual situations or scenarios outside of my own very narrow comfort zone or mental compatibility scares the shit out of me. And I find all of the above scenarios I described, as plainly unappealing and downright weird or scary. I will never, as long as I have my faculties in control, go out seeking any of them voluntarily, in either fanarts or fiction.

My point is, this is a complicated issue, I fully acknowledge that beforehand. We, as a fandom, got attached to Ash as a character, for so many different reasons. We all love him, respect him for standing up against all odds, and fighting against his fate all his life. That's the reason why the back-lash against these depictions got so violent, I think. People are more willing to see him heal, to see him make peace with his scars and move on. The general consensus with this line of thought was so ingrained in our minds, that people lashed out as soon as something "against the norms" and "potentially harmful" came to their notice.

But, the thing is, both these outcomes, are fictional. The fandom's biggest purpose is this : we weave fiction out of fiction itself. That's why we have fanarts and AUs and headcanons and a hundred other things. And different people will find different aspects of said fictional scenarios appealing. It's why we have so many ships on one hand and unfortunately, *ridiculous* ship-wars and toxic discourses on the other. But, it's okay to accept that there'll always be differences in such a wide space where everyone is coming together. It's okay to find content you don't agree with, and simply, move on.

But, I'll repeat myself : I'm not going to persecute people, who have carefully tagged, classified, and filtered their content, being mindful of the others in the fandom, and barge on their doors demanding "why they liked what they liked" and "how could they like such a thing??". Especially because it is fiction, involving fictional characters, separated from reality.

Had it been a real life discourse, involving actual people, I'd have definitely spoken out against it.

she used to be a trainee at the company. but, it didn’t work out so well. they couldn’t exactly find/make a group she would fit into. being a solo artist would work but they didn’t think she would excel as well. she got along well with all the other trainees and idols and she had great talent. they didn’t want to let her go so easily. 

they learned that she is actually good at managing so, as a test, they made her be a manager for the group saeran and zen is a part of. instantly, becoming close to the group and getting dubbed as ‘mother’ by saeran. she takes care of the boys, making sure they eat, sleep and become the best idols they can be. she worries lots about them, especially saeran since his health isn’t the best.

she doesn’t bring up her trainee days often. not that they were bad or anything. she had lots of fun training and following her dreams but, the reason she doesn’t like talking about it, especially to the boys, her dream didn’t come true. she doesn’t want them to lose hope by knowing her story of failure. 

despite not being in training anymore to be an idol. rika keeps up her training when she can during the times she isn’t busy with the group she is currently managing. she trains a lot with her younger sister, serena when she gets the chance

the idol is not confident at all when it comes to modelling… or being in front of a camera at all. being on a stage? sure! she loves performing in front of people. but, being in front of a camera is something she isn’t very comfortable with. thank god a certain photographer is patient with her and makes it less uncomfortable

jaehee is rika’s manager. she is the one person that she trusts to tell pretty much anything to. she respects the woman lots and tries to do her best to make less trouble for her as possible. she doesn’t want to give her more work than she already does. after a long day of work, it isn’t uncommon for rika to become clingy or using jaehee as a pillow to sleep on.

there have probably been a few dating scandals because of how close jaehee and rika are. but they always deny this by saying that they are just really close and good friends.

at least once a week, rika and saeran go to therapy. even though they both… probably… really don’t want to go. rika goes because she knows it will make v happy and he wants her to get better. saeran goes because he doesn’t want to let down rika.

rika taught saeran how to cook and bake. it is honestly one of her favourite things to do, so getting to teach saeran how made her life. they normally make meals together.

rika hates leaving saeran alone at home. even if she is just going to hang out with a friend for coffee that afternoon or spend some quality time with v. she honestly does not like leaving him alone. honestly, v and rika probably came home to him having a meltdown because he was left alone. it scared rika, never wanting that to happen ever again.

( a drug au. ) — you need some kind of medications, tripp is your guy. not much else to be said here, but I do like to sometimes imagine his growly "never trust anything from the street." quote as being from personal experience and his strife with other dealers. my tripp, regardless of verse, takes a lot of medications, he overuses them to the point of toxicity and chemical dependencies as part of his obsessive tendencies bc no med actually gets taken every hour for psych symptoms like in the movie, esp. not depakene like tripp says he needs hourly. anyhow, for this verse, tripp can always get his hands on scripts and sell them out. adderall, xanex, percocet. you name it, he can probably get his hands on it for money by rotating a bajillion doctors and pharmacies. i also wouldn’t exactly put it past his characterization to stretch things a little and throw him in as a supplier. awkward, shifting, anxious boy in charge of a drug lab would be rather fun in my opinion. he probably also steals stuff and sells it tbh. just an au i enjoy thinking about from time to time that could be fun.

TH!FPA_VB – Lord of Lies and Deceiving

Yo, been a while since I posted something on this account, but here we are, back at it again with a casual VB drawing like in good ol’ 2020

…Though, this time things got built on a different road of events as you can see, not to mention this is a spoiler to what’s to come for VB (but tbh I stopped caring at this point so yea)

First and for most however, there are quite a few questions surrounding this fic’s development I have to answer for our sake (mostly mine since I feel like mold spaghetti for not keeping up on things oml-)

Yes, I once said VB was on the way of getting completed and all that, I know

Problem is, the changes I want to do to the ‘lore’ (if you want to call it that way idk) are also retroactive to the events in the present timeline (aka past events that are mentioned but not entirely shown because ugh-), some characters that have some relevancy on the story but only come up at the very end chapters on VB itself, etc. etc. which are things that I personally find bothersome as its writer and the reason why I’d rather not make the ‘sequel-prequel’ of it where things get explained and all that

Instead, I’ll fuse both VB and TAF (the sequel-prequel’s name acronym standing for ‘The ‘ANOMALY’ files’ fyi) so it can focus on one party alone and I don’t waste any more time than what I already have done so (haha funny cuz me late to party amiriteeeimsorry-)

…And about the format for it, I’ve decided I’ll ‘upgrade’ it to a comic instead since y’know, I do art and it’ll also make my writing simpler so yea

Still tho, I’m kinda paranoic on if I should get going with the prologue by the time I finish its script or not since I don’t wanna make the plot a mess or leave things (important* things) unfolded by accident, but we’ll see how it goes (and hopefully I’ll make it out alive-)

Also, keep in mind that by the moment I’m writing this, I’m stuck in the Friday Night Fuc- I mean Funkin’ fandom, and y’all know what happens when the fandom switching happens…

My concept-creation-obssessive-self starts grinding gears like cuckoo -doesn’t mean I’ll abandon everyone else tho, it’s just that my focus splits on multiple parts and all that balloney

So, now that I did my little defense statement up there, let’s get rolling to the mainpoint down here

First, who’s this spider guy?

Well, he’s a ‘side’ antagonist, more specifically the person DPM is after (but doesn’t realize he is until very later)

His name is Q-Ross Sid, a ‘camel spider’ that lives in the Spider Kingdom as the royal executioner and prison head-guard/-caretaker

He’s what I’d consider to be an ‘anomaly’, since he’s a genetic fusion of graphite (20%), chalk (10%) and correcting fluid (70%), with the graphite being his ‘stabilizer’ component (osseous structure and skin/muscular tissue mostly) and the chalk his ‘cooler’ component (mostly on his defense and assimilation mechanism), not to mention he can only consume either correcting fluid matter derivatives…and/or ink matter derivatives, including living beings (mostly as an energy source and which his body somehow can partially convert into graphite)

…And by that fact alone you can tell that yes, he killed Isea -also known as Dizzy/Izzy Pants Girl (YESss I fINALLY GAVE HER A NICK ASDFGH-) in VB mostly due to her ‘special ability’ and stuff- by Queen Aris’ command. And yes, he can shapeshift, which explains why he got DPM to blame FPM for what happened, this that (but I think you might have figure it out already by the drawing alone so yea-)

However, although at first I thought his ability would be limited to mimick FPM’s appearance only, I now decided to amplify it a little, and instead he can shapeshift into any sketch/graphite-alike/related being, with FPM being his ‘link’ to them most of the time (stalkey tatics are not okey dokey my man but you do you I guess)

Though he can only shapeshift into stickfigs since he doesn’t have that much of ‘color filling’ for a human drawing itself (yeah ik they’re humanized in the story but things will make sense sooner or later I promise, for now just bear with me as we go on on this plz), and he cannot shapeshift into ink/liquid-alike/related beings because they’re not compatible and it’ll only lead him to corrupt his physical form –not meaning he can’t recover from it tho

But he can’t replicate them entirely, as his eyes and the ring are the two main red flags to spot him (but with some contact lenses and a little pocket, it can be fixed y’know-)

As for his robotic arm, it was after a fight that I’ll rather not explain due to not being that relevant; and even thought doctors refused to give him a prosthesis at first since he could simply let it rebuild naturally (yes he can regen too, but in a slower phase bc reasons), he got it anyways due to the fact limbs regen take way longer than physic injuries and/or internal damage (some even assumed that they probably wouldn’t actually regen anyway), which can be a bother on his job most of the time…and maybe out of spite too –he wanna look tough, yo-

Fun fact, during the hype I got from making this bad boi, I ended up attaching him to grandson’s song called ‘Blood/Water’ due to the lyrics kinda resembling his defamatory actions towards FPM (and also his wild and sometimes desperate hunger towards ink beings, yikes)

Second, what’s VB’s main plotline now and why did I expand it?

To resume it in the ‘signature phrase’ I made for the new version (which was also inspired on MARETU’s ‘Magical Doctor’ song –mandoilovethisvocaloidsongcomposerasdfgh)

**THIS WASN’T MEANT TO HAPPEN**

Venomous Bittersweet (which I’ll rename in the future due to the fusion with TAF) started off with a simple plot -FPM going on a mission for himself to get cured from a spider bite he got all of a sudden, but failing in the process (bc plot convenience idk) and CPG is the one who goes to his rescue instead while showing off the things she learned from him, this that, wholesome ending blah blah blah- you know the drill if you read it to end.

But by the moment I began making those little ‘inside stories’ –specially DPM’s backstory explaining why he became so reckless and outgoing- I started to extent myself on how things worked on this AU, even how drawings come to life (ik it’s weird but that’s how I though it to be so ff-), and by such I felt the urge to give almost everything a background story, such as Aris’ reason to kidnap and take control over FPM’s body and mind (and maybe his soul too oops-), the Spider Kingdom’s origin and even the portals and ‘reality deterioration’ in SFPA, passing by DPM’s origins and stuff.

And even if I felt like hitting walls and taking things a little too in-depth most times, I think it did bring some good things for the new plotline I’m going for now

So, in the new story, all the weird, whacky (and disturbing) things that happen after SFPA and during OG VB plotline came by what I’d express as some sort of ‘time-space anomaly’ that made everything slightly unstable on the ‘other side’ of the studio (I won’t explain too much my brain is about to boil rn so take that as you will for now tysm), having a passive (but not unnoticeable) effect on the sketchbooks.

I can’t give much context why, how or where did the anomaly came to be exactly (you can make theories if you like, I’d love to read them 4real <3), but it’s main purpose is to take control over all existing worlds just to corrupt them to its will, to the point there is basically nothing left but despair and desolation to which all entities will be forced to endure and all that edgy jazz.

…And by that, the ‘anomaly’ will create incompatible matter amalgams –ink and graphite being the most coming-to-mind example in the story so far- in order to conquer all the sketchbooks, but as a consequence of this ‘anomaly’s’ arise, new worlds came to be fully developed (in other words, they finally exist as a whole), and with that, new ‘heroes’ are brought into the situation, each representing a type of artistic material alone –watercolor, oil paint, etc-, heroes with which FPM will encounter and interact with, as he’ll also help them in how to use their abilities to fight the baddies and stuff.

And because we need conflict to make things interesting, Q-Ross and DPM indirectly (but kinda) ‘team up’ to fabricate fake evidence and such in order to mess with FPM’s reputation towards the heroes by incriminating him and/or even mislead his actions (confusing wrong by right and vice versa, etc.) (because ink man is salty and corrector ass is a dick by nature –ofc), and even ocassionally with Q-Ross starting the job, just to get DPM to finish it; and sometimes they get the aforesaid characters to hold grudges –if it comes to succeed, or instead making them get more on his side by the same feeling of doubt –if they mess up on something, no matter the size.

As about his sickness, well, it also got a little twist.

We know that new worlds and material compositions come with new squiggle types, and even if ‘dust-related’ types don’t affect him for too long –chalk being the closest example I can bring up-, liquid or clayish matters, such as oil and crayon squiggles respectively, are toxic towards him, so in the way the more he interacts with incompatible squiggles, the more harmed his health condition gets, to the point it grips into the weakest part of his body –his core (I’ll later explain this just…let me get this out first plz), which limits him on doing most things he’s used to do normally.

…And well, the spider bite (which is also an abnormal matter amalgam times two, though I’ll keep it secret for now) was the last nail in the coffin on fucking him up entirely to a new level of corruption (damn is that a stretch I’m seeing-)

Long story short, this was also because I wanted ArPM to have a backstory that’s more than just ‘I’m evil nao bc me get poisond and mindcontrold by spoders out of spite hahahaha-’

Third (and lastly), who’s Ahetzo exactly and what’s his main purpose on the story?

This is a short one

In case you didn’t see my tweet on my Twitter account (here a linkie), this is a side character I made that’s supposed to be some kind of ‘spirit’ or something alike who’s the one in charge of the studio while ya dev boi is gone

In other words, he’s basically like Brad’s subconscious self (IK YIKES- YOU CAN HIT ME WITH THE CHAIR NOW I WON’T MIND-)

…and even though he tried to keep the anomaly thing contained as long as he could while figuring out how to disarm it or at least neutralize it (yes it was there way before, like during fpaw3 events or before so because AU logic lol), the more he tried to condense it, the more it multiplied itself until, well, y’know, shit blew up and everything just sdfghjk’d

And yes, he was the one who released the new worlds to keep the crazy stuff at range, this that

And before I finish here, I’d like to make a little ‘self-critic’ regarding my artwork here…and I gotta say, I’m really proud of it on most parts

As I began to retake on digital art lately –mostly due to my slight entering onto the FNF/partially NG communities and other things, I’ve been testing out new techniques and stuffs on GIMP 2 with the ‘routes’ tool and all that (that’s also why it looks almost symmetrical, but don’t fool urself it did took its time-), I even corrected some of the lines to make them sharp and fancy (haha funi joek im so quirkee-)

In here, I wanted to try mixing both solid and blurry shadows as well as replicating a ‘crystalish’ effect –as seen on Q-Ross’ eyes- and some line effects with the ink tool such as the liquid dripping out of Q’s mouth (yes that correcting fluid saliva now stfu-) and the graphite/correctfluid webs coming out of his clawtips/fingertips

And though I haven’t made an official palette for him, I think the colors I picked here suit him well enough in my own idea of such

Overall, I had fun making this, and I love how it came out

Still though, any criticism, opinion and commentary is welcome, both about my art piece and my little showcase over here
