He’d started with flowers. He remembered that she liked orange, so he had gifted her some orange lilies, yellow carnations and tiger lilies. The florist had looked at him very weird when he’d asked for those 3 flowers, but wrapped it nonetheless. He’d had no response after leaving them at Logan’s front door, despite the note also left. Lily had looked at him like he was an idiot when he told her what he did.
Then there were some bad jokes sent to her phone. All left on read. Okay maybe sending her some jokes from a book titled ‘bad dad jokes for dads’ was a bad idea but he had just hoped that they would make her laugh. Lily once again looked at him like he was stupid and Alex had also laughed at him when he told them.
He was never taking relationship advice from then.
He started talking to Logan again. It had been a little awkward because he had been broken up with by his sister, but they managed. He was a good running partner and seemed to be able to differentiate between George, his friend, and George, his sister’s ex boyfriend. Alex had smiled and Oscar had winked when they all went out for dinner together. Lewis just waggled his eyebrows.
He googled the flowers. Okay, maybe sending her a bouquet full of hateful flowers was a bad idea. He made sure to actually consult the florist and instead gave her some orange roses, frangipanis and alstroemerias. She answered the door this time and smiled when she saw the flowers.
She invited him in. Talked to him at the kitchen table where he’d made her pancakes on one of the few cheat days that lined up together. She put the flowers in a vase on the table. He could see the old flowers chucked in the bin. She gave a sheepish smile when she followed his gaze to the bin. He couldn't remember what exactly she said, but he left with tickets for her next Arsenal game in his coat pocket.
He went for another jog with Logan that week. Then joined him in the friends and family box for the Arsenal game. Then he went to the Paris Olympics to cheer her on for her second place medal. In return she had come to Miami and cheered him on from the Williams garage. Then she had come to COTA and cheered her brother on from the Mercedes garage. George and Logan had laughed about that.
“Well, now that I’m banned from the Williams and Mercedes garage, I guess it is time to finally time to say, I love you Russel George.”
“Does this mean I'm forgiven?”
“I suppose so.”
“Love you too Y/N Sargeant.”

do you guys think sparrow watched henry try over and over to convince lark that he was forgiven for years and years knowing that he was always supposed to be the good twin to lark's bad twin and that's why their parents expected better of him when really he and lark have always been the same. do you think sparrow knows that right now, if lark wanted to accept that forgiveness, he would be forgiven. do you think about how they both doomed the world in different ways but only one of them is going to come out of it with a salvageable relationship with their parents. do you think about how lark was a manipulated teenager and sparrow was an adult in a desperate situation with no better option because the alternative was watching his family die. do you think about sparrow taking that burden from lark because despite it all he wants lark to have that relationship with their parents even if it means sparrow will never get the chance. do you think sparrow remembers henry desperately pleading with him when he was pretending to be his twin that he was forgiven and everything would be okay if they stuck together when he is sitting in that office watching his father turn his back after declaring him unforgivable. do you think about how much sparrow is willing to do for his family, for lark, for normal. he can't be better, the only reason henry and mercedes think he can be better is because ever since faerun he was supposed to be the nice twin, the good twin, the twin not afflicted by unrelenting anger and hatred. maybe henry would've forgiven lark in the same position but he never expected it of sparrow. do you think sparrow ever forgives himself.
#dndads#dndads spoilers#kasey rambles#sparrow oak garcia#that last question isnt even hypothetical we know he didnt#sorry i was thinking about ep23 again.#i think people always forget that sparrow was pretending to be lark for that entire argument#so sparrow knows so intimately that henry wants to forgive and love lark so badly#and lark was a kid and sparrow was an adult it makes sense but it doesn't make it hurt any less#and sparrow gets to hold onto that. for so long#its fucked. this family is so fucked.

here have a sparrow related rant :D (dndads ep 48 spoilers!!)
btw, my entire perception (or all together understanding) of sparrow oak has shifted after this episode-
i think unconsciously i saw the twins as completely different people, like wildly different from eachother, after season 1 and in season 2
but honestly- after we find out that sparrow is the one who enacted code purple, the conversation with henry and mercedes? i still see them as different characters, but i feel like they are actually way more similar than i initially thought
they're just both two guilt ridden idiots, and at first i was really confused why it seemed like sparrow would always group himself with lark when talking about who "ended the world" or whatever (i thought it was probably him saying it in solidarity or whatever, which i think is still partially the reason) but now he also basically did what lark did
i think thats whats heartbreaking to me, because henry immediately forgives lark after he releases the doodler, but sparrow is immediately told he will never be forgiven, and where lark has the motive of wanting to defeat the doodler and become stronger, sparrow has the motive of just wanting to protect his family-
im not saying this is out of character of henry, i definitely think this is how he'd react since he has the knowledge of exactly what code purple will do, and we also know that sparrow tried to lie to him to enact it as well, but its just- fuck
personally i think because of how lark and henrys relationship is in late s1 (and afterwards) henry probably was unconsciously more attentive to lark afterwards, trying to repair that broken relationship- and so his perspective of sparrow is different, sparrow usually goes along with lark and backs him up but he never actually argues with henry or whatever,
so when sparrow does something that he does himself, it seems so off and random to henry, personally i think if he had to think about it that lark would be the twin that what would be most likely to be the one to do it, a lot of it is sparrow acting on his own principle and we really don't see that often, (blah blah, its lark and sparrow not sparrow and lark, blah blah)
basically i think that it was so unexpected of sparrow that henry immediately freaks out and is more aware of the betrayal than he was back when the doodler was released,
im relistening to the mummy issues arc in s1, and was listening to scene of henry and darryl arguing about the pyramid, and i think that's really the thing yk? because henry's moral compass is more pointed towards being selfless, where sparrow seems to be on the opposite side of that in this situation
for example, henry wants to go and get arrested by neverwinter because they had let the pyramid fall instead of trying to save lark and sparrow from the omegadads, which makes sense that he doesn't approve of code purple because it would put faerun in danger, even though it would mean his family would be safe,
and then sparrow, who enacts code purple because even though it would destroy faerun, he and his family would be safe,
ive seen people compare code purple to the trolley problem- and honestly, i agree so much, its similar, where if the same amount of people are on both tracks but one has your friends and family/people you love on one side as well,
really sparrow was put into such a huge position of either way he will end up hurting someone, his 6-year-old son is attacked by a flesh hoard that he can get rid off by flicking a single switch, and of course he's going to do it, even if that means his parents never want to speak to him again and that he dooms another plain of existence to destruction
im just in love with how much this podcast spins morality around, it can be so incredibly philosophical for being a dungeons and dragons podcast about a bunch of stupid dads, it really makes you realize how complicated humans are
#honestly so many fucking thoughts this episode#these twins make me SICK#i said the word enact way too much in this#i hope this makes sense#philosophy is my kink sorry guys#dndads#dndads s2#dndaddies#dungeons and daddies#dungeons & daddies#henry oak garcia#henry oak#sparrow oak swallows garcia#sparrow oak garcia#sparrow oak#lark oak#lark oak garcia#lark and sparrow#the oak family#normally oak swallows garcia#normal oak#mercedes oak garcia#darryl wilson#dndads s1#dndads spoilers#me rambling like hell#🍁#me rambling

Omg I would love (if you want to share of course) your thoughts on Christian and Daniel’s relationship. I find it so intriguing and in certain cases there’s two different stories of what happened like the contract negotiations in 2018. I do think it was taken as a slight being offered whatever he was offered first, then the same as Max which I think was worst by rbr. I mean Daniel had been at that team for 5 years, he should’ve been given a better contract than Max imo. Like they wanted him to feel valued but failed. I do think Daniel is a bit of a chameleon in that case too like Dietrich, Christian etc thought he was locked in and had no clue what he was going to do
Honestly I think whatever I want to say has already been said way more eloquently by @ef-1 when she’s talked about the interactions between Christian and Daniel around that time and how mad Christian was at him. After all, his one throwaway comment that Daniel was running from a fight would end up characterising his time there and would be the one point most people keep bringing up over and over again.
The thing for me is Christian is very positive when he talks about Daniel in the present, but on the podcast, when he talks about 2018, you can tell he’s still mad and hasn’t really forgiven Daniel for leaving. Which is surprising because Seb, the OG golden son, left and it’s ok because his dream was always Ferrari. When Dax asks Christian how did it feel to win 4 in a row and then having to watch Mercedes win for 8 years, he says it was terrible. Adrian Newey nearly left, the team nearly got sold to Audi and yet, Daniel stayed with the team throughout that period. He stayed through the numerous dnfs, the numerous engine penalties, gave the team the best years of his career at a time when there was no hope that they would ever be a championship winning team in the near future. And when Daniel realised he wouldn’t be the one fighting for the championship if the team would ever be on top again, he left.
I think Christian sees a lot of himself in Daniel, which is why he lets himself be more critical of Daniel than any other drivers who have driven for him (sometimes I feel he’s even more critical of Daniel than he has ever been with checo). They’re both these widely charismatic individuals, they know how to play the media game and in the whole Daniel vs Max thing, he sees Daniel as him. At one point in the podcast, he says Daniel at the time didn’t realise how good max was going to be. I don’t know if he says this as justification as to why they rallied around Max so early on but in the early part of the podcast, Christian recounts this moment when he was a driver and he saw juan-pablo Montoya take a corner with such fearlessness and he realised he had to be honest with himself that he would never have what it takes to be that kind of driver. I think he thought if he could accept he was never going to be a formula one driver, Daniel should have been able to accept he was never going to be a champion and still stay with the team. Because that’s the thing, he wanted Daniel to stay with the team, but he already knew in 2018 even if he didn’t say it aloud, that when the time came for them to fight championships, it wouldn’t be Daniel. Maybe he thought Daniel should have accepted to play second fiddle and he would have had more wins than he currently has and then move into an advisory role but still be part of the ‘family’
But Daniel, with his confidence or misguided arrogance, thought he could be more and left

or can you make sewis toxic
the gc said what if seb n lewis were teammates at merc during baku 2017 earlier today and my brain is fucking melted and this came out. what if lewis went to ferrari after 2016. what if baku happened while they’re were both in the title fight for a wdc with ferrari and make it be the worst possible scenario. what then
“I’m not very nice today,” Sebastian laughs, titling back in his chair, smile bright and toothy, red shirt loose and too big along his shoulders. His fingers are ringless, tapping away on the arm of his chair, no bracelets either excerpt for a thin material one, faded blue, and a thick sensible watch. “Sorry.”
He doesn’t sound sorry but then again, Sebastian never does. Lewis only shrugs, letting his eyes soften, reaching over to bump Sebastian’s chest with his closed fist, light and easy. Mattia is peering over the file in his hand from across the room. “It’s alright, man. Losing can be difficult to swallow.”
Sebastian is far too good at his job to glare at Lewis. His smile simply widens, chin tilting down so he can glance up through his lashes. “You’d know all about that, wouldn’t you?”
Lewis laughs, stretching his legs out in front of him, feet crossed at the ankles, until his back clicks quietly. “I would,” Lewis says and the helmet painted in Lewis’s colours on the shelf behind Mattia holds the exact same number of stars, one grey, two silver, one red, as Sebastian has titles. You’re not special, Lewis thinks. Not to me. I see you. I know you as a racer. As a human being. I. See. You.
I’m not Mark Webber, Lewis had said to him, last year after they had handed him the trophey and he’d become the first Ferrari world champion since Kimi. Sebastian had only laughed, furious and spitting and grinning, no?
Nah, Lewis had leaned in close, smelling his sweat and champagne and the race track that always seems to cling to Sebastian. I’ve beat you in your own team, haven’t I?
That hadn’t wiped the smile off of Sebastian’s face, nothing had that year, not once he started losing and never stopped, but something in his eyes had flickered, got you, and he had said, they aren’t my team, like it was awful and terrible and the worst thing he could think of. He didn’t say they’re yours because apart from the very few times Sebastian very distinctly is, he generally isn’t much of a liar.
Lewis had known him a long time at this point, as a friend and stranger and colleague and rival and teammate and ally and rival, and had just shrugged. Yeah, they are, man. They’re Ferrari, they’ll never be mine. And they’ve got to be someone’s — too needy not to be.
Then why are you here. It was the first time since Lewis signed the contract on the heels of 2016 that he saw Sebastian desperate and it was even partly real. Maybe I just want to win with every team, Lewis had watched Sebastian’s fingers pull at the sleeves of his race suit, the material damp and thick. That’s what the papers are saying, anyway, so it must be true.
Sebastian hadn’t said anything to that, jaw still set and tight, knuckles white where he had twisted them into the material. Lewis could’ve forgiven him for choosing Nico over him, or at least, not choosing Lewis. Could’ve and did. He was even able to forgive him for not saying anything when the shit stupid jokes came back after he signed and the Tifosi lost their shit, bouncing back and forth between ecstasy over getting Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari, stealing him from Mercedes as if Lewis hadn’t walked away on his own two feet, and the horror of having a black driver in their beloved team.
What he is not able to let go, and probably couldn’t even if he tried, is Sebastian not taking back what he said after Baku, never telling anyone that he was wrong, even after the FIA of all people stood in Lewis’s corner. It wouldn’t have hurt so much except —
Well, Lewis had thought, hadn’t he, and —
— it didn’t matter. Not in the end.
Sometimes, Lewis looks at Sebastian, beside him on the podium, across a team briefing, staring in front of him, behind, right there, and he hates him. He’s pretty sure that they could’ve, maybe, possibly, been something.
Sometimes, he even catches Sebastian staring back but for all that he swans around, all open palms and look here, look, look, I’ve got nothing to hide, I swear, he can be so very difficult to read. And it’s been a over a year since Lewis has trusted himself around the other man.
#i have so many thoughtsaboiythis btw if u haven’t realised#idk where this goes !! no where !! anywhere !! mybe they never get over it. mybe seb never wins n get look at lewis. mybe lewis loses n seb#can stomach that n they become smth. pale in comparison to what they could’ve had but. smth. or mybe they don’t. idk idK !!!!#also. nico is still in merc btw. with val. bc i think it’d be fucking hilarious#just. what if sebs sense of fairness n right n wrong came up against his need to win. to beat his teammate. to best lewis in a way that was#not there in our version of baku. what if what if what if#left it v open ended and vague on details bc i haven’t figured them out lol but no one is good in this. no one is v nice.#they all want to win n be loved n can’t have both. nope. sorry. basket is full next pls. i am so tired pls ignore this should probably sleep#nowdays ignore any spelling mistakes !! pls n thank u#sewis#flash fics#one! braincell bestie#niamh.asks

Mercedes Benz X-Class 6 Wheeler
In times of rising energy costs and increasing environmental awareness, Mercedes-Benz could be considered a bit of an outlier when they launched their G-Class 6x6 in 2013. The vehicle, albeit being a success and selling out fast, was only meant to be produced in very limited numbers and its production ended after only two years in 2015. These cars have since become very sought after and can fetch seven-digit numbers when they are up for sale.In 2018, Classic Youngtimers Consultancy in collaboration with Polish tuner Carlex Design announced the Mercedes-Benz X-Class 6-wheeler. The rendering got a lot of attention and by 2020, production was underway. The car is based on a standard X-class, the offroader launched in 2017. You would be forgiven for not knowing about the model; it was released only in Australia, New Zealand, parts of Europe, Africa and Latin America and never really managed to catch on. The model was discontinued in 2020. Nevertheless, the Dutch tuning garage mentioned above saw in the X-class a vehicle they could turn into something quite special and have some fun with, and we think their intuition was spot-on. The X-class 6-wheeler is a gloriously silly thing that you did not know you needed before seeing it here.
Underneath the bonnet sits a V6 turbo diesel with 3 litres of displacement and a power output of 255hp. This does not make the X-class a particularly fast or powerful car, but that was never the designer’s intention. They willingly left the engine untouched, as it provides for 406ft of torque and is rather usable in its standard configuration. This is a utility vehicle, and the designers want that it gets used as such, unlike the G-class 6x6, of which most have probably never seen any mud, if they get driven off the road to begin with!

vro0m’s rewatch - 142/310
2014 Italian GP
Welp. So last GP was absolutely insane in terms of narrative. Let's see how this one goes. I guess we'll get the final words on what happened last time around but I already explained all that in my last review so I might not go into details here, except if there's new information.
But first : quali report. Raikkonen was out in Q2 because of a lock up, he's 12th. Alonso is only 7th, the highest placed car without a Mercedes PU. Both Mclaren on the third row. Williams filled the second row, while the Mercedes locked the front row. And this time, it's Lewis on pole.
We get a Lewis interview. This is his first pole since Spain. It's been a long time. He's enjoyed it, he says, but it's a long way to go the next day. She says he's been more chill than she's seen him in a while. She asks if it's experience or age? He hopes it's not age, "cause… I'm definitely noticing that". He does think it’s through all these experiences, he's matured, and he'll continue to make mistakes "and do and say the wrong things" but it'll make him grow. He thinks this year with all the pressure and everything that's gone on, he's learned to recover quicker.
The journalist says since Spa Mercedes has backed him and supported him a lot and said all the right things in public and she asks how big of a conversation there was between him and the team and between him and Nico. He says it wasn't that big of a thing. He came to Italy with some friend early in the week and literally as he got there he received a message that he had to be at a meeting the next day in the UK.
And so he asked if they couldn't do it on Skype and they were like "no, we need you here" so he went and first it was just Toto, Paddy and him, and it was just a normal meeting and very relaxed but very serious, and then they had a collective meeting but again it was pretty relaxed "and the end result was 'so we'll leave it to you… to race' and I'm like… 'and you called me all the way here to tell me that?'" he jokes. "Like I could be chilling sipping piña coladas man!" He reiterates it was relaxed even though it's a serious matter as they have the potential to be one of the most successful teams. She asks about his trust in Mercedes and whether he's always felt supported this season or if there were times when he doubted if they would back him. I love her for asking that question because it feeds directly into what I was talking about in the previous review. It's the key point.
"I've never ever felt that… the team hasn't backed me," he says. "I've felt… I'm sure back in Monaco, felt a bit… weird, it was almost like irony, there's only me that's a certain way and… everyone else is a different way but… it's okay we've moved on from that but generally the team has just been… fantastic. I've never felt so good in a team."
(Note the hints of paranoia again, whether based or not. During his answer about Monaco we're shown images of the GP but once we go back to him he's taking his hand off his ear and we've already established that this is his tell. He might not have moved on as much as he says.)
She reminds us the stewards didn't see a problem with what happened in Monaco, and they didn't see a problem with what happened in Spa either. She asks if he sees a problem with these or if he's forgiven Nico for these situations. He doesn't take a moment to think before he answers.
"It's not a case of forgiving, it's in the past, there's nothing– there's no point dwelling on these things. Can't go back and change it so all I can do is shape the future so that's what I'm gonna try and do."
She asks if he trusts him going forward. He says again it's not really the question. Of course on track you need to be respectful and hope the others will also be. He says he's had incidents in the past and you can't go into the next race worrying about what will happen if you're next to the same guy again. You have to go into it thinking it's not gonna happen again and it's gonna be a good race. She straight up asks who's stronger on track. OK girl. He says (very smart answer) : "That's for you to decide, and for the fans to decide. I mean, it doesn't really matter what I think. I do my talking on the track and that's what my dad has always told me to do." She says then that presumably if she asks him who's stronger mentally he'll give the same kind of answer. He talks over her to say Nico is very strong mentally. She says he is and they tend to think about him as being much more emotional. He doesn't agree. He says he thinks having handled "hopefully not too badly" all the things he's gone through and being 30 points behind and still fighting and still thinking he can win, "it hopefully shows some of that strength". (He's right, it does. And being strong has little to do with being or not being emotional.) She asks what it's going to come down to, winning the championship. He says reliability, it's what he's been struggling with, and yes, mental strength. He says he now has to do what he did this weekend (getting on pole) every weekend. And every weekend he has to do what he hopes, what he plans to do during the race.
DC says Lewis is a changed man compared to last year, much calmer, much more confident. He says Nico tried to race like him and failed and got chastised and the public didn't like it so Lewis knows he has him beaten in every wheel to wheel situation from now on. "Psychologically he just knows he's the better racer."
On the grid Niki says the mess has been sorted out and they had a good driver meeting in the morning. "The message is very simple : race against each other… but USE YOUR HEAD."
It's time for the race!
Formation lap.
And they're racing!
Terrible start from Lewis! A few meters off the grid he's already lost two places. What the fuck. I thought it was Nico at first, wow. Lewis what the absolute fuck. So now it's Nico in the lead then Magnussen, then Massa, then Lewis. And now his recovery systems won't work. Oh apparently it's race start mode rather than recovery system (they're saying RS over the radio everyone is confused about the meaning). Massa overtakes Magnussen for P2. And… yes! Lewis overtakes him as well. Ted says the team confirms it's the start mode that fucked up hence the terrible start. Now he's back on the pace and matching Rosberg. And Chilton is beached in the gravel and DNF. Lewis says his rear tyres are going but he's absolutely flying. OH! Nico locked up and went straight on at the end of the straight! He has to slalom between blocks and he loses a bunch of time! He's still in the lead though. He's lost 1.8 seconds. It could have been way worse.
Lap 10. Nico, 1.9 seconds ahead of Massa, 0.3 seconds ahead of Lewis. Then 5 seconds down we have Magnussen, Seb, Jenson, Alonso, Perez, Bottas and Raikkonen in P10. Lewis catches up in the pit straight and goes round the outside in the first corner which gives him the inside line in the second corner and he is ahead! P2! Now it's all about the chase. He's been chasing all season, not much of a change. The gap is 2.2. Now 2. 1.6. 1.2.
Lap 20. It's not a fascinating race. Nico, Lewis +1.1. Then Massa 7 seconds down, Magnussen, Valtteri, Jenson, Alonso, Raikkonen, Daniel and JEV. The pit stops are starting which explains why Seb disappeared from the top 10. Massa pits from 3rd. Rosberg should come in soon as per radio comm. "It's hammertime." Nico pits. Valtteri pits. Lewis comes in. He's still 1.5 behind Nico. Daniel pits. Bono tells Lewis he'll need the tyres at the end but Lewis sets the fastest lap anyway, and then also sets a fastest first sector, so Crofty and Brundle agree that he's clearly ignoring him. And he's already down to 0.6 behind. Imo he knew he had the pace to pass him now instead of waiting for the end of the race and he's going for it. AND NICO GOES DEEP AGAIN IN THE SAME PLACE! AND LEWIS IS AHEAD! Let's gooooo! And there's yellow flags out, Alonso has stopped.
It's lap 30. Lewis sets another fastest lap. Now it's Rosberg's engineer telling him he has to look after his tyres to attack at the end. Lewis is already 2.6 seconds ahead, a lap and a half after he's taken the lead. I'm bored, which hasn't happened a lot this season. The gap is now 4.3.
It's lap 40. There's really not much happening, even down the field, very few overtakes. Lewis is still 4.3 ahead of Nico, then we have Massa, 15 seconds down, and Seb 18 seconds down on him. After that it's Valtteri, Magnussen, Perez just overtook Jenson for P7, Ricciardo, and Raikkonen is P10. And Daniel overtakes Jenson for P8, and then Perez for P7. Jenson overtakes Perez for P8, but he fights back and gets his place again. Nothing else is happening.
10 laps to go. Daniel attacks Seb for P5. Seb defends but can't hold him off too long. 5 laps to go. Nico is not closing that gap. Suddenly Lewis locks up badly and it's down by a bit but that's not even threatening. 3 laps to go. 2 laps to go. Kvyat went straight in the chicane and hit one of those blocks. He's fine and still going. Final lap.
And it's the end of the race.
Well that was a good ol' boring one but at least Lewis wins! Nico is P2 and Massa P3. That's 238 points for Nico vs. 216 for Lewis.
"Nice work Lewis, get in there pal! Beautifully recovered mate, beautifully recovered," says Bono.
Lewis isn't too expansive in his body language as he gets out of the car. Very tuned down. Just a thumbs up.
While Massa and Lewis congratulate each other and talk joyously, Nico swears in Italian with the Mercedes representative for some reason. Lewis is just hanging out with a towel on his head.
Forever hiding his hair. It's such an insecurity to him. He turns around asking if they have the caps. Rosberg talks to Massa in Italian as well, he answers in a Latin mix of languages. When it's Seb there he often talks to him in German. Sometimes I wonder if he does it on purpose to keep Lewis out, but I don’t know. Crofty comments on Lewis hiding under the towel. "Doesn't he like his hairstyle at the moment?" he asks. "No idea," says Brundle. "But I'm not one to talk about hair." Yeah you both just stay off the subject, it'll be better for everyone.
I personally love his baby curls, he's so cute.
Idk who the guy doing the interviews is (it’s actually Alesi lmao) but he asks Lewis if he likes to complicate his own life. The crowd is a mix of cheering and a little bit of booing I think. Lewis thanks them anyway and comments on how big the crowd is. Doesn't answer the question. The man moves on to Nico. Some people in the crowd have huge poles and one of them gets theirs to him on the podium and there's a marker tied to it and Nico takes it to sign his flag but I think he doesn't do it in the end as he gets interrupted by the interviewer. He gets booed significantly more than Lewis as well. The interviewer asks a question I can barely hear and then turns to them and says "Ragazzi, no!" Nico says Lewis deserved the win and thanks the crowd in Italian, saying the atmosphere was fantastic. He gets more cheers now. Lewis grabs the pole/pen/flag to sign it. Then Nico signs it as well. Someone in the crowd has a Freedom For Lombardy flag which. Okay. The crowd reacts wildly to Massa. Loads of noise. Both the question and the answer are in Italian. He says there's no better place to be on the podium. He thanks the crowd. He says he's not red anymore but he's with them always. The man goes back to Lewis and Nico and says he needs to talk to them but can't do it very loud because it's a secret. "Are you friend again?" Lewis goes "huh???" and the man repeats the question. Nico has his arms crossed. Lewis says "of course" and touches his back briefly.
"We are teammates" (which isn't the same thing) "and we always will be so…" The guy interrupts him to say it's the best picture to see when they are friends because they've raced all their life together and they like the way they drive and the way they fight so they are very pleased to hear that. "Grazie a tutti !" Lewis says. That was awkward. The man goes back to Massa. He tells him he has to say something in English as well. So he says some normal pr stuff in English. He gets cheered loudly.
Lmao. So the post race content is from BBC again while the race was Skysports and both broadcasters have the same conspiracy theory : that mistake Nico made was so weird, was that the undisclosed penalty for Belgium? Jordan is crazy enough to ask Toto. Toto says "You mean whether we told him to miss the braking, go through the chicane and let Lewis pass?" with a smile on his face because he knows exactly how insane that sounds, especially when Lewis was supposed to be in the lead as he was on pole. Jordan says "I'm just asking a questi–" "No," Toto cuts him off. Then he laughs. "Sure?" asks Jordan. "Sure," he answers. "100%. I mean this for the drivers' world championship, it's very tight, he was under pressure, this is what you could see." He also says Lewis wanted the win and you can't take that away from him, his pace was amazing. He confirms the start issue was technical and on their side.
Lewis has a big smile. He says it was another hard day but he loved every minute of it. He says initially when he had issues and knowing how fast Nico would be he thought he wouldn't be able to make it but you can't get stuck in that kind of thinking. He says the issue at the beginning has to do with engine mapping and goes into an elaborate explanation that isn't very interesting to write down here. Anyway he had to floor it and he was grateful he didn't lose too many places.
She asks about Bono telling him to play the long game and him not listening.
He smiles as she asks the question. He says he has a great team working with him and guiding him during the race and what they're telling him is advice not orders and they work it out together. (Somewhat interesting that there was a whole issue last GP about him being able to trust his team or not and this time he decides to not listen to them and do his own thing instead.) He felt he had the pace and a good balance and had to seize the opportunity because in the first stint he caught up but couldn't overtake him on his old tyres. "I put pressure on him… you know I did it a couple of races ago and… he doesn't seem to like it so I try to do that always now," he smiles mischievously.
She says he's brought the gap down to 22 points. He says he still has a long way to go but one step at a time. He's more serious now. He talks of the fan support and his family being incredible so he's gonna take that energy and try to move forward. She asks if he feels like he's regained some control over the events. He hums. "I don't know, we'll see in the next race but… I just gotta take it as it comes, you know? You never know what's gonna happen, I mean, today I still had a problem. But to be able to be successful with that problem is a great feeling, it's even more empowering than perhaps starting from pole and just winning from there so… but I hope– I'm still looking for that weekend which… you don't have any problems."
Maybe next time?
I read on Wikipedia Lewis said he was uncomfortable with the public booing Nico.

The stuff of your dreams
To 14yr old Frances, You’re sitting on a cool camping chair in the balcony of the house like a frickin badass. Oh yea, we live in a 2 story house now just like what you’ve always wanted! It’s 5:20 in the afternoon and you can see pink and orangey clouds as the sun begins to set.
Ate meng and ate che are in the living room glued to their phone screens. Mercedes is in her room probably listening to music while scrolling thru tiktok. It has been a surreal couple of months ever since we moved into this house. God has really been so kind and gracious to us 😌 you didnt have a relationship yet with Jesus but He has always been with us the whole time! Everything you will have gone through will all lead to Him. So take heart.
Im not even sure if you know it yet, but u will hate kuya Gorio with ur whole being for what he did to ate che. But now, you have completely forgiven him and his entire family. You understand now that he’s probably hurting deep inside and he just doesnt know what to do with himself.
Papi and kuya are in Cebu but pops came to visit for his birthday and stayed for a week to celebrate our birthday. Kuya is sad…. I wish you had been kinder to him…. But its not your fault. Dont worry 😘
Do you remember when we were abput 8-9 yrs old we’ve always dreamed of a picture perfect family like what we always see in the movies? It was exactly like that except Kuya wasnt here. It may not have been perfect but it sure came close. The family didnt fight with each other. Kuya Gorio and his fam even visited and we spent a lovely morning exchanging stories. You may never have imagined life would be like this 15 years into the future. But here’s you, at 29 years old, telling you that im now living our wildest dreams. Anything really is possible with God. Its all because of Him! Now im wondering what God has in store for us bc I really thought we’d see our fam like this only when we reach our deathbed. Intrigued? So am I. But let’s continue to pray and put our faith in Him. Dont harden ur heart and be grateful when He disciplines us. Love people the same way He loved us.
After all, He did allow into existence the stuff of our dreams even when we dont deserve it!
PS: you got fatter, but im working on it!! 30 year old us, dont worry i gotchu fam 🫶🏻

Anthony's Stupid Daily Blog (727): Thu 14th Mar 2024
Up early for a driving lesson. I already have my full driving license but I haven't driven for over ten years and so I've decided to take a few lessons to jog my memory and work off the rust to make sure I don't accidentally kill someone (if I kill someone with a car I want it to be fully intentional). The instructor arrived at 9AM and seemed flabbergasted at the fact that I hadn't driven in so long. I explained to him that I just preferred motorbikes and that I was never able to shake the urge to look down at the gearstick when I needed to change gear. I asked him whether or not he thought it might be better for me to get an automatic car and he said in his opinions manual cars are better but I think he might have just said this to mae sure I didn't ditch him to start learning how to drive automatics (which to be honest I probably still will. I only booked a few lessons with this guy because I couldn't find an automatic driving instructor in time). Very early in the lesson he told me that in any gear above first if you ease all the way off the clutch and the ignition then the car will move forward on it's own. This must be a fairly new thing because I'm certain that when I was taking lessons with my old instructor Joe if you did this then the car would definintely stall. I was understandably a little bit nervous and sometimes unaware of how sensitive the pedals were but for the most part I drove with caution and didn't make any major mistakes. I've got another lesson booked in with this guy next Wednesday but I'm still going to try and find an automatic driving instructor in the mean time because to be honest having to change gears all the time was still bugging me. To be honest I can't for the life of me understand why you would bother building cars with manual gearboxes if you have the ability to build cars that change gears automatically.
When I got back in the house I watched last nights Dynamite which featured the eardrum shattering debut of Mercedes Mone FKA Sasha Banks. The crowd gave her a thunderous ovation and I have to admit that hearing an arena full of people chant "CEO" is pretty cool. This nickname is a nice play off her old WWE character but with a twist. I was really disappointed when CM Punk got fired as I thought he was a perfect fit for AEW and if utilised correctly could be the key to AEW bridging the gap between itself and WWE. However I think Ospreay, Okada, Mercedes and main event Swerve and Wardlow should more than fill the gap IF they are booked well. This evening I ordered a pizza and about fifteen minutes later I saw a guy with a delivery rucksack pull up outside my house on a pedal bike and gesture to me to ask if I''d ordered food. I thought this guy must pedal faster than Lance Armstrong if he's managed to get from the city centre to my house after only fifteen minutes and also the staff at La Dolce Vita must have bought a new superpowered oven to have cooked the fucker in less than fifteen minutes. As I suspected though the guy had the wrong house and it was a McDonalds delivery that he had in his rucksack. It’s a good thing I’m not an arsehole or else I could have just kept it and treated myself to two dinners. Once my pizza finally arrived I tuned into last night's Hollyoaks. At one point Leela was complaining to Peri about Joel's behaviour and Peri told her that she was 37 and she wasn't likely to meet another guy like Joel so she should just get over it. I could have forgiven Peri for covering for her killer boyfriend and for almost killing Dave but age shaming her goddess mother Leela by implying that 37 is not young? Now she has gone too far! Elsewhere Tony was consoling Ste over his guilt with a relaxing cup of tea. I put the following hypothetical scenario on Twitter:
Tony: Here drink this it'll make you feel better Ste: I CAN'T HANDLE THE GUILT ANYMORE I NEED TO GET THIS OFF MY CHEST! Tony:
There was also some more sinister shit with Frankie and JJ and to be honest now that I know that JJ has been sexually abusing his own sister, future episodes with these characters are going to be a tough watch. I know soaps are always heavy on the drama but JJ, Ste and Joel all going through the worst shit imaginable. Is it too much to ask for the odd lighthearted storyline to offset the tragedy every now and again? I will say though that watching Warren doesn't feel like much of a chore any more given his empending departure. For the first time in a long time I haven't muted the sound and watched a YouTube video while Warren is on screen because I know that he's leaving soon!

hope it's ok if i ramble a bit under your post, i've been keeping up with the press too and i kinda need to talk about it (spoilery speculation under the cut)
i do like that they've included benedetto, i've always loved his subplot and he's often cut. i think they're making him the count's "ward" more than his servant, considering a review mentioned everybody jumps to planning weddings when he's introduced to them. in the trailer if i'm not mistaken they also seem to include the dinner at the house where villefort buried him (a very chaotic section, love it). i hadn't thought of him also being killed "in edouard's place", but i do think you're right about that, i also believe i saw madame danglars screaming "no!" in the trailer...
i'm not really sold on what they're doing with haydee, and it seems this writing team while trying to give female characters more focus and agency always ends up kind of doing... the opposite? and cutting a badass disabled character like noirtier is truly a missed opportunity. plus in the novel having villefort condemn edmond to shield the father he's at odds with comes off as a counter-parallel to edmond himself never seeing the father he loves dearly again as a consequence. as you said adaptations always tend to make fernand the ultimate foil to edmond, because of him being the romantic rival who effectively steals his life as mercedes' husband, watering down the other conspirators' relevance. but i could write a whole separate post about how villefort and edmond are also written as foils, and how significant it is that it's the death of villefort's son and his madness afterward that actually rattle the count. then there's danglars, the one who actually wrote the damning letter and started everything, but also the one who gets "forgiven"... many things tend to go unexplored.
there is a "maximilien morrel" listed in the cast but if there's no valentine i suppose they may only be using him for the section where the morrels are saved from bankruptcy? i was hoping they'd give him more to do considering how important the count's bond with the morrel family ends up being, but it doesn't seem to be the case. and, as you said, having the forbidden romance be haydee and albert leads to wondering exactly what future is there for edmond at the end of this, especially since it does seem like he and mercedes won't end up together either. he could just ride off into the sunset, but wholly alone. and like you i don't see what could keep him going. one thing i could see them do is end with the positivity of the count returning the pharaon to the morrels like 1988 russian movie did, but that's just me saying words.
well, even if i end up not liking this movie at all i'll certainly have fun seeing how much i managed to guess and what else they came up with😂 it's sort of what i ended up doing with les trois mousquetaires... though i do hope they do better with this one
Anyway I've been kind of following the press releases for The Count of Monte Cristo (2024) (French) movie and some potential spoilers that I kind of want to air out:
The film seems to be marketed as "much darker" in terms of focusing on the revenge aspect, which I don't mind, but some other stuff give me pause as to how they're gonna handle The Count as a character because the way the actors talk about him, he almost sounds weirdly irredeemable, or rather just completely incapable of still loving and caring about people? Which is the exact opposite of how he behaves in the book..... he wants to be cold and completely detached but fails each time because he a) forms close connections with people like Haydée and Maximilien, even comes to deeply respect Albert despite trying to talk himself into not caring about the boy and b) is meant to question his own revenge plot because it inadvertently causes the death of an innocent child
Apparently Haydée is 'torn between her loyalty for the Count and the love of her life' with said love of her life being.....guess who? Albert de Morcerf. There's no mention of a court scene so far where she accuses Fernand of being a traitorous officer and murdering her father, instead Edmond apparently gets her to seduce Albert but then Haydée falls in love with him for real? I once wrote a post complaining about this type of idea I've seen others mention as a "potential fix" for the plot but taking aside my issue with Albert/Haydée as a pairing in any sense, in this context it's almost doubly bizarre and I feel like the writers took so many different elements from the book, namely Albert's blind trust and admiration towards the Count and the forbidden love story between Maximilien and Valentine, and decided to go for a much more digestible change for the story, I guess? The actress who plays Haydée also mentions that she wants to "break free from the Count's psychological grip", which..... you can say a lot of stuff about Edmond/Haydée as an overall dynamic, particularly in him inserting her in his plan for revenge, but the big thing noted in the book is that Haydée makes the decision herself to testify against Fernand, and even thinks that the Count will disapprove of her for this. He also does genuinely care for her and wanted her to inherit everything he owns should he die.... the whole point of him taking her in is that he wanted her to have the life she was entitled to before Fernand's actions stripped it away from her.
The film also seems to have merged several different characters related to Villefort into one, namely Benedetto/Andrea and Bertuccio, since Andrea (in the film) is also under the Count's wing and seems to accompany him as a possible servant in some scenes. This isn't a bad idea in theory, though I'm pretty sure that he ends up dying when he goes after Villefort at the court house, so I presume he's also supposed to represent Edouard's death? My main question is when this scene even happens in the film because apparently, there's a final sword fight (likely the one between Fernand and Edmond), so the death that makes Edmond question his entire plot isn't even at the end of his plan?
This brings me to my next point which is why are Fernand and Edmond even doing a sword duel in the first place.... apparently the film has Fernand come from a rich family already, and he's known and been friends with Edmond prior to his imprisonment, so w/e, classic trope of CoMC adaptations at this point. But the duel and Haydée's 'seduction' plot just makes me think that for all the apparent attempts at centering her as a character more, these writers took out a significant scene related to her character that means a lot FOR her, namely the court scene, and instead centered Edmond's feelings of betrayal towards Fernand. I know that this is likely to also focus a lot on Edmond's lost life with Mercedes, but Fernand isn't even such a significant focus of Edmond's ire in the book as much as the other two men are.
The movie doesn't seem to end with Mercedes and Edmond getting back together, which I at least appreciate if this Edmond is "much darker" than even in the book, but if he isn't with her or isn't dead by the end, what exactly is the point of him going off alone? I presume this is the ending if Haydée/Albert are supposed to represent Maximilien/Valentine and the Count "gives them support" for being together, but Edmond was pretty much contemplating suicide until Haydée stopped him in the book. The point is that his focus on avenging the past was his only assumed reason for living, but there's a chance for him to simply live on with those who genuinely care about him as he is now. Without him trying to make amends through Maximilien and Valentine and Haydée indicating she will only live if he lives, I can't really see the film making a good argument for why Edmond wouldn't contemplate suicide instead of living on.
Apparently Villefort has a Bonapartist sister (I presume this character is meant to replace his father in the film) whom I also think Edmond saves from a shipwreck that has been shown in the trailers. I've zero clue how this movie is going to fit a new character in this while doing all of this to the other more significant characters, but that seems to be a general trend with this scriptwriter duo.
Only minor positive thing so far is that Eugenie IS included for once, and they didn't omit her being a lesbian.

Geolex + “you’re cute when you’re jealous.”
Read on Ao3 or below the cut!
They get to Vegas and George is buzzing. It’s a mixture of the energy of this city, the way that everyone on the strip is excited to see them, and having his two favourite people in the world right there with him.
Lewis is in good spirits, which is great for George because when Lewis is on, he’s a force to be reckoned with and he pays attention to George and tells him how good he’s doing and George would get on his knees for this man any day.
Metaphorically of course because there’s also Alex. George really wants to please Lewis, wants to hear that he’s doing a good job, wants to win for him. But with Alex, none of that matters.
Alex loves him because he’s George, not because he’s George Russell, F3 champion, F2 champion, and Mercedes driver. George doesn’t love Alex because he’s Alexander Albon, Williams Driver.
George thinks that he or Alex could quit F1 one day and never go back and it wouldn’t change anything between them. And he’s so fucking grateful for that.
They get to Vegas and Alex is not buzzing. He’s excited to be in Vegas but the whole thing feels a little much. The people, the press— he complains about doing media but really it just fills him with a horrible wave of anxiety where he can’t breathe. The whole thing feels a little overrated to him.
It doesn’t help that Lewis is here. He’s gotten over what happened in 2020, forgiven Lewis for the collisions that stole his first career wins from under his nose. But he’s still not really sure how Lewis feels about him and every interaction is so awkward and yeah, Alex’s social anxiety finds Lewis absolutely terrifying.
It also doesn’t help that George loves Lewis. Not in the way that he loves Alex. He loves Alex like breathing. He loves Alex like a cup of coffee in the morning in bed. He loves Lewis like the devoted teammate that he is, eager to learn and live and grow under Lewis’ shadow.
And Alex really is happy that George has a good teammate. He knows what it’s like to be the second driver and feel absolutely shitty showing up to the track each weekend. He’s glad George doesn’t have to experience it, but also would like to be here with just George.
They all get to do some press together, which is good, the solid press of George’s body against Alex’s side doing wonders to calm his panic. But Alex also knows that he’s really not the people everyone is here to see, so he gets to stand off to the side and watch Lewis and George woo the crowd.
They take like a bazillion photos of George and Lewis together and Alex isn’t jealous. He’s not jealous because he doesn’t want to be up there, he’s content being out of the spotlight. But he doesn’t miss the way George looks at Lewis, like he hangs the sun, like he’s Adonis personified.
He’s not blind, Alex knows that the fans think George and Lewis are dating. He knows why they think that. If he and George hadn’t been together before he went to Mercedes, Alex probably would have thought the same thing.
Strong arms wrap around Alex’s middle. He’s standing behind the stage, watching Lewis, Checo, and George entertain. Okay, maybe not watching, maybe just trying to stay calm and get away from the insane atmosphere. He leans back against George, nestling into his boyfriend’s neck.
“Hi baby,” George presses his lips against the top of Alex’s head, “You okay?”
“Fine,” Alex mumbles.
He turns around into George’s embrace, shoving his hands up and under George’s insane amount of layers. George is wearing a winter coat even though it’s baking hot in Vegas.
“It gets cold in the desert at night”, George had argued before they’d left the hotel.
“You’ve never been to the desert, George!”
“Yeah, that’s why I have to have a coat.”
Alex doesn’t know if he’s just wearing it out of spite, but the skin beneath his clothing is cool and soft and it grounds Alex in a way that he hasn’t felt all weekend.
“Better?” George murmurs.
“A bit,” Alex concedes.
“Do you want me to take you back to the hotel?” George asks, tilting Alex’s head up to meet his eyes.
“No, that’s stupid.” Alex shakes his head, watching as Lewis walks toward the pair of them.
“It’s not, if you want to go back.”
“I don’t want to be a burden.”
“You’re not-”
“Hi,” Lewis interrupts and George takes a step back from Alex (ouch) and turns to face Lewis.
“Hi, Lew!” George beams at him.
Lewis gives Alex one of his beautiful smiles and then turns to talk to George about something that Toto had called about earlier.
Alex crosses his arms, looking around for somewhere else to be, but he can’t find anyone else he knows and the towering, unfamiliar city makes him uneasy.
“Right, Alex?” Alex’s head snaps back around to the conversation where Lewis is looking at him expectedly.
And right there, Alex gets it. The feeling of all of Lewis’ attention turned towards him, the soft, kind eyes meeting his.
“Oh, uh- right.” Alex agrees, blushing slightly.
“Told you, Georgie,” Lewis beams, wrapping an arm around George and giving him a blinding smile.
Alex’s skin prickles at that and he reaches for his phone to give himself something to do other than watch his boyfriend and his teammate do whatever this is. George wraps his arm around Lewis’ shoulder, mimicking the older man’s movement, and the F1 media pounce, snapping picture after picture.
Alex’s face must show some discomfort because George untangles himself from the commotion and makes a beeline for Alex’s side.
“Come on,” He pulls Alex into his side and starts to head towards the strip. “Let’s go back to the hotel.”
“Whatever,” Alex grumbles, pouting slightly.
“Alex,” George stops walking, putting his hands on Alex’s shoulders to stop him as well.
“George,” Alex stares at him, challenging whatever George is about to say.
“You’re cute when you’re jealous.” George pecks him on the cheek.
“Asshole,” Alex flicks him in the head and George pulls away, mock wounded.
They keep walking towards the hotel, hands not quite touching, comfortable silence sweeping over them.
“I’m sorry we haven’t been able to spend much time together,” George sighs.
“It’s okay,” Alex squeezes George’s pinky reassuringly.
“I wish it was me and you on the stage.”
“No, you don’t.” Alex shakes his head.
“I do!” George insists. Alex can’t see his eyes behind the sunglasses George is wearing but he knows he’s sincere. George is always sincere. It drives Alex nuts sometimes.
“I would probably spontaneously combust if I was on that stage,” Alex admits.
“True,” George laughs. “Fine, then I want you on that stage with me metaphorically.”
“Me too,” Alex agrees, giving him a soft smile. “But after tonight, it’s just me and you for a few days before Brazil.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.” George pulls him to the side and kisses him soundly.
He leaves Alex at the doors to the hotel and Alex watches him go with pride swelling in his chest. George is his. And neither of them would have it any other way.
Another randomized prompt list pick because I really am feeling geolex lately. Hope you enjoyed!

i actually wanna hear about michael and mercedes 🧐
Long sigh
So.
Michael came out of retirement for two reasons. 1) addicted to race cars. 2) mercedes had just bought ross brawn's (good friend of michael's from WAY BACK) team and he was tentatively in charge of it and wanted to build it up. Michael, being a known king of building up a team, came back to help that process.
A lot of people thought Michael was Washed during this period but a good 70% of that came from the car. Mercedes just built shitbox after shitbox. The number of mechanical retirements he has in 2012 is just... it's insane. And the stats don't even count the number of mechanical failures he suffered in qualifying which was even MORE. But the media was chomping at the bit for the chance to prove Michael was A Washed Cheater and A Fraud All Along so he took the heat for mercs' performance instead of merc. He got pole at Monaco in one of the most tightly competitive fields in decades, in what was NOT the fastest car. You don't do that if you're washed. Multiple times he retired from podium positions.
So it's 2012 right, and Michael's contract is up, and almost the whole season passes with no news. We go past summer break, no news. Mercedes say ALL YEAR that it is michael's decision, they're not looking anywhere else without his word, they're happy with michael. Literally a week before it all goes to shit Brawn is on TV yapping about how they're perfectly happy with michael's performance. I only found this out recently bc its a German interview and I'm an ignorant brit but in 2011, Michael is talking about going until 2014.
Except then, really fucking abruptly, Mercedes announce they've sgned Lewis. No word from Michael. Nothing. And suddenly "Oh it's up to Michael" becomes Michael without a seat, 3/4 of the way through the year with all the good seats signed and his stats for the year looking ABYSMAL because his car could barely finish races. This gets worse with what we now know - merc were courting Lewis for basically the ENTIRE YEAR whilst insisting to michael they wanted to sign him.
So of course michael fucking schumacher isn't going to go drive in a backmarker. They can't pay him for one. And he announces his re-retirement later, making it look as if he's been dumped for poor performance and is retiring in disgrace. The whole time he is SO polite and supportive of the team. He doesn't trash talk anyone in the press, he doesn't so much as complain even as the media is fucking bearing down on him going "FRAUD! FRAUD! FRAUD!"
And then to add insult to fucking injury - and considering Ross is his friend and he literally worked with Niki to form the modern GPDA its pretty fucking hard to make this MORE insulting - this is the LAST year that mercedes build a shitbox. There's 2013 - where the car is decent but nobody can touch the red bulls - and then it's merc dominance.
I've never forgiven mercedes or Brawn. Frankly I don't think I ever will.

Since you're talking about Rachel. I just have to say it, she's one of the reasons why I sometimes loose intrest of the show.
The show makes us want to empathize to her. She never gets in trouble for her actions, she broke Finn by(if I remember correctly) Rachel slept with Puck because Rachel found out Finn still liked Quinn, Rachel only cared for her, she gets ALMOST ALL the solos in almost every competition, her in NY is so unbelievably more unbearable.
I would've loved to see Tina or Brittany or Santana or Mercedes to take some solos and more covers.
I have to admit, the girl has talent and she could sing. But if you keep hearing her then you start to hate her.
Just my opinion
yeah! listen i was literally thinking earlier about how it's been a while since i've watched glee and i kinda miss it but then that compilation of rachel being shitty just hit me like a truck.
the finn/puck/rachel thing drives me insane omg i saw that scene in the video and just sat there in disbelief bc i had erased it from my mind. cuz like... rachel cheated on finn with puck after finding out that finn had slept with santana (even though they weren't dating when finn and santana slept together) and she straight up tells him to his face that she "wanted to hurt him just as much as he hurt her"??? seriously what in the fuck?? and then he broke up with her and she immediately went "you said you'd never leave/break up w me" like she didn't just admit to cheating specifically to hurt him? then a few episodes later she tells him that he should've forgiven her by now? the fact that finn did eventually get back tgt with her makes me mad, bc they really weren't a great couple. and idk she treated all of friends and bfs badly and then played the victim when they actually confronted her about it.
i do think she showed some growth in NY though. to me parts of s4 and s5 rachel had some sweet moments with kurt, santana, etc, but the growth never really lasted. it was always a 2 steps forward, 10 steps back situation with her, and that's frustrating because i feel like she could've had a really interesting arc and she just didn't. maybe i'm being a little bit harsh but overall i just find her exhausting to watch.
and you're absolutely right - i would've loved to see the other glee girls sing more. the fact that only one (1!!!) of tina's solos was a performance people took seriously makes me so angry (but that's a whole other post) and just in general i also got tired of hearing rachel's voice. i think the other girls (mercedes, tina and santana in particular) had a larger range when it came to songs they could sing - for rachel everything sounded kinda similar.
#love that u guys are coming here to vent about rachel#like same sometimes i just need to let it all out and then forget about her#ask md#anti rachel berry#anti rachel#anonymous#maybe i am back to straight up hating her now lol#glee thoughts n opinions

Jesse St.James Deserves Better
Jesse gets hated on and never forgiven but other characters on Glee have so far worse for example Finn he cheated on Rachel and Quinn and got Quinn to cheat on Sam with him. Will is a creep and throw his wife into a wall and there is so much more. Everyone forgets those things but doesn’t forget what Jesse did even though he was truly sorry secondly Rachel told him to crack the egg, If you look at his face you would have seen he didn’t really want to do it. Finn also called a baby a r*tard and did many other things that people just let slip under the rug.
Also, Jesse being cold hearted and strict was because he had Shelby as a coach so he is going to be harsh when being a coach herself. He didn’t have a good family life either. What he said was true, Mercedes is lazy. Be
If anything Rachel was the one who didn’t deserve Jesse not the other way around. She completely disregards his feeling with Run Joey Run and she used Jesse to make Finn jealous and when Jesse asked her about her dreams she didn’t even ask him what his were, also during beautiful when Jesse raised his hand she didn’t seemed to care.
In conclusion Jesse deserves better but he will never be able because Glee(Finn) fans are so blind and toxic.
