GUYS I’M FINALLY DROPPING A LIST ABOUT MY GODS IN THE ODYSSEY NNT AU HEHEHHEH
I’ll be reblogging this post when I feel ready to drop who’s which God/monster/character
Remember that I’m trying to adapt greek mythology with nanatsu no taizai characters, so it’s not going to be: “hey guys this character’s Apollo!” Nono, they’ll may parallel the characters from the original source material but I want to make them characters of their own and preserve some of their essence they have in the anime:)
Also i’m mixing the original odyssey with my own ideas with epic (mostly epic cause I can’t stop listening to it on repeat hahahaha)

I am writing my 7DS fanfiction about the other Arthurian knights and legends.
But since I have to tie it up with NNT, I am re-writing some of the canon scenes. And since it got me thinking, I've decided to change a thing or two:
CHARACTERS
- Meliodas won't be groping Elizabeth every other second because SHE IS A MINOR AND HE'S KNOWN HER SINCE SHE WAS A CHILD, I DON'T CARE IF THEY'VE MET IN A HUNDRED LIVES, IT'S GROSS. I will have him respectfully keep distance, looking at her with love more than lust, partly because he doesn't want Elizabeth to get her memories back so soon by falling in love with him. When she will get her memories back, he'll be touchy as he wants (which is, a lot).
- He'll look a bit older too. I understand that he was supposed to represent the usual shonen teenage protagonist, but I don't see the issue, actually. He'll still be a short king, of course, because we need short kings.
- Diane won't be portrayed as a 15-year-old girl mentally. Just… no. She's 1500 Years and a mercenary, I refuse to have her behave like a child (and then having seven children). Her crush on Meliodas will be more mature, too.
- Elaine will look a bit older. I mean, like Meliodas, short people who look younger exist and are totally valid, but she's p3do bait and just… no.
- Mael will be central because I find that his character arc had SO MUCH MORE potential but they kinda just... forgot him? But it would have been so interesting to see him dealing with PTSD and paranoia, not knowing if what he sees and experiences is real or not, and all the moral dilemma lf finding out that he's been raised to be a weapon but everything he believed in was a lie. Also he never truly wanted to fight and k1ll, but then he committed atrocities while being Estarossa and... I don't know, I think it would have been great seeing him having a proper development and healing. Because I fell in love with 7DS because everyone there is a sinner, everyone is evil somehow, everyone committed something terrible (with the only exception of Howzer), but we learn to love and root for those characters because they're complex... Or at least used to be.
- Also it would be nice to explore Gowther gender identity and expression and make it more complex, wouldn't it?
WORLDBUILDING
- Since all my OCs are described wearing things that would be common in the VI century (around Arthurian period, "historically" speaking) (btw, I've had fun seeing what Celts were wearing during that time… Women were fighters and would also wear trousers), or, at least, in a fantasy setting, the original characters clothes will be a bit different, too. The Boar Hat uniform will be different, because I refuse to let Meliodas lewd on an innocent and clueless sixteen-year-old Elizabeth.
- Regarding the lore… I had a bit of fun. In my fanfiction, the Sacred Tree will be a "spawn" of Yggdrasil. I imagine Chaos creating the Universe with different worlds and the Yggdrasil connecting them. It just happens that one of its roots developed its own tree in Britannia, opening portarls to other realms: the Demon realm (in Cornwall, since in Arthurian era there were the Dumnonii, whose name resemble the word "Demon"); the Sky realm (both of Goddess clan and of the Celestials); the Fairy realm (the Tree being a portal) and the Giants realm (Megadoza stone being a portal).
- Also, there are the Ragnarok chapters in the mobile game, so that's the perfect excuse to put them there as well.
- Since there's different "parallel universes" I've also thought that time will pass differently in different realms. Faster in Britannia and slower anywhere else (since also in Purgatory time flows differently). This is mainly because this Whole "I'm three thousand Years old dating a literal child in my eyes" gives me the ick. I'm talking about Meliodas, King and Elaine especially. I also find that in some cases the math doesn't add, if you look at some character's official age (I'm looking at you, Estarossa/Mael, you're even 20cm taller when you're a Demon).
- And yeah, since I like history and mythology a bit too much I may include a bit of geopolitics of the British isles in the IV century and Celtic culture as well.
Anyway, this project has been fun until now, but since I'm not writing it in a linear way, it's time to work into the canon to tie everything together.
I may write a part 2 about my OCs, in the meantime let me know if you have some headcanons which you want to share!
Also hopefully I'll post some new drawings

I might be wrong, but (lmao)
With the new information we have on Nasiens, and looking back on how his character was introduced, I think it's safe to say he'll be the next Fairy King. Or at least a Saint of the Fountain like Elaine.
The situation we meet Nasiens in is sort of similar to Kings in NNT, when he returned to the Forest after abandoning it for seven hundred years. He's trying to protect the gorge with everything he's got, searches for an antidote and finally uses it, despite the fairies shunning him because they think he's responsible for the decay in the first place. He takes their insults, and some stones to the head, and it's only after Percival yells at them that Nasiens explains the situation. He protects the forest and his family, even with almost everyone against him, sort of paralleling King defending the new FK Forest from the Albion. Then of course there's his magic that basically screams walking-fountain-of-youth.
Apparently Sixtus can use a Spirit Spear, so being Fairy King doesn't seem to be a requirement for that, so maybe that goes vice versa, or maybe Nasiens will get a Spirit Spear later on. I'm super hyped to see where all of this is headed. For all I keep bitching about this manga and its author, the foreshadowing is fucking sublime. Nakaba knows how to weave a story.

magical balance, anyone ?
another day of fixing Nakba's mistakes ! aka fleshing out the Themes where he didn't
I think each clan’s existence plays a role in maintaining the fabric of reality as it is, and manifesting the magic that exists. Absence or excess causes intense problems and threatens the world.
As put by my pal @exrolotus!
Goddesses: life
Demons: death
Fairies: flora nature
Giants: fauna / tectonic nature
Human: willpower
Basic Diagram of Magical Balance
Tumblr media
(you can barely see the goddess clan! Just like nakaba!)
The given reason for humanity becoming more magical and the overall magical health of Britannia declining is plot convenience. But this is what I think it should actually be going on there:
The goddess clan and demon clan both generally exist at a greater distance from humanity compared to the giant and fairy clan, either in another dimension or other place (my mutuals propose, for instance, that the demon realm exists in either Japan or Ireland); this distance representing how they stand on equally powerful and opposite sides of a spectrum. It’s so clear how far apart they are, how clear at first glance the line is between what they represent. I propose that their link to the magical balance between them is more precarious than that between of the giants and fairies, and much more vital to the manifestation of magic itself.
As for the giants and fairies: their clans’ supernatural relationship is easier to understand in that they both have ties to nature. It’s a more tangible concept - how does the environment exist without the earth? Flora without fauna? And when do we ever see fairies and giants going toe-to-toe?
We see the Giant and Fairy clans join with Diane and King’s marriage. I’m going to dig for meaning and propose that this restored a balance between them that was always meant to be. That, in the same way that Elizabeth and Meliodas met and bonded soul-to-soul, their souls’ union was able to restore an ancient and necessary balance to their own clans. Elizabeth and Meliodas brought the end to an eternal war. I’m gonna say that King and Diane brought an end to an unnatural silence. An absence of a relationship, to parallel the absence of a supernatural union between light and dark, life and death, which, arguably should coexist without a third force (supernatural racism, the goddesses’ genocide agenda, etc.) attempting to eliminate one from existence.
Drole and Gloxinia’s relationship in canon has mysterious origins. A lot of us seem to be shipping them, and I don’t think they’re wrong from a narrative perspective. Remember the giants’ connection to the earth and the faries’ connection to nature. It makes sense that their clans should have some kind of relationship, instead of not interacting at all. Love between them, whether romantic or platonic, could represent the same thing. I hypothesize that fairies and giants were always close (not necessarily physically!) in ancient times until the Holy War, and upon seeing the devastation and unnecessary death they “split” in order to prevent history from repeating. An angst disagreement, or a solemn and silent withdrawal. Giants, continuing on as some of the greatest warriors in Britannia, overemphasizing it in the hope their strength will continue to protect them and bring them honor and courage. Fairies, isolating themselves from all other interactions, neglecting their warrior skills to the point where they become as they are in nnt, relying on their king to do everything for them and “discarding their honor” in terms of their powers. Unhealthy war, unhealthy peace.
I propose that the rifts caused by the Holy War are what sapped the magic from Britannia. When the goddesses and demons lose the ability to interact with the world “in-between” them, the magic drains. Etc. Humans, the “odd one out,” adapted. For fun, I think there should be some natural disasters thrown into the mix every now and again, as well as other phenomena which I will describe later. What happens when the ropes on all four sides, holding together the supernatural balance of reality, snap? This whole thing is inspired somewhat by the idea that in a fantasy realm, there is one more sphere of health you have to keep track of. It’s physical health, mental health, and magical health. Neglect your mental health? Uh oh! Neglect your magical health? UH OH. I think that if you’re not in touch with yourself and your powers, well, there are consequences. And something like that on a larger scale is happening to Britannia with two (?) upset balances.
Thoughts? :D

Seeing this fixed my morning. I have now forgotten about my guilt over the bananas rotting on the banana stand.
Eating this up and absorbing it SO fast. It fits the culture of the goddesses as controlled by the Supreme Deity as well as the war tactics we've seen from them. I am now totally obsessed with the notion that the goddesses didn't plan to just sit in breakable artifacts for ???? years while their god slept and did jack all to protect them. This could give the goddesses SO much more room to grow in the narrative. It's . . . basically canon to me now no take-backsies. (Why didn't this really happen LMAO nakaba really DID have ways to give us more goddess stuff)
Did I ever mention I love concepts revolving around fantasy creatures and possession? You Understand Me on this. The possibility of cooperation, the possible physical and psychological horror of it all, the power, the mundane-ness it eventually gains, the way it changes both host and hostee irrevocably. And it would work both ways - for a villain arc and a redemption arc - to show who Ludociel is as a character.
Also! l can see this as a switch on the "demons possessing people" trope which just makes me go feral. nnt demon/goddess parallels have taken up permanent residence in my brain.
Vessel
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just a random AU were the Archangels used the humans after the holy war as vessels, where they now lay dormant.
Hendrickson can use basic goddess abilities but needs Ludociels permission to use Flash. Ludociel can take over the body but it takes way to much effort and he would use up what little energy he has left.
Instead Hendrickson just gives him the body temporarily, Ludociel can only wander around for a bit before his soul gets to tired and takes the back seat.
Overuse of Flash by Hendrickson can damage Ludociels soul. Hendrickson only uses it when absolutely necessary. Basic goddess magic is safe to use at will because Hendrickson is a druid.
They can talk to each other but can't peer into each others mind. Ludociel is normally quiet but gets more talkative when Hendrickson is in his lab, or when someone he knows comes to visit (this can be good or bad)

So, the Cernunnos Horn
Tumblr media
This ability very much reminded me of Merlin’s “Limit Breaker” used in the original series.
*Quick reminder: Merlin’s spell amplifies the powers and abilities of allies, but it takes a lot of pressure from the body, causing extreme fatigue after its use.
So, could this Cernunnos Horn power possibly be used later as a way to amplify Percy’s power? Maybe even in the last fight, like ‘Limit Breaker’?

Headcanon for They Lived AU: When they're asleep, Derieri mostly avoids the pillows, in order to cuddle on Monspeets chest, enjoying beeing commandment free. Monspeet lets her be, happy having her closer to him than ever before.
!! ;w; this is adorable and i feel like deri would do that occasionally but not all the time tho, them cuddling in general sounds so cute

She forgot about her "divine" gifts. She then remembered.
They weren't the only things she forgot. They weren't the only thing she remembered.
Or Merlin tries to cope with an onslaught of traumatic memories.
Happy B-day Merlin, sorry I’m so mean to you XD

Thinking about how Lancelot fits his title as "knight of War". Like, war looks beautiful and exploitable to a lot of people right up until it's killing them, and Lancelot is the same way re: ambushes and sneak attacks.
that his mother died before giving birth to him and his father lived in hell (both the literal version with Purgatory, and the mundane version with Ravens)
he's literally the first guy that Percival meets in Britannia, because it's Percival's destiny to get embroiled in the Camelot war and he can't escape it and ugh
see also that awful scene in the Dalflare forest, when he's pressuring Percival to kill a downed foe- war tempts people towards excessive violence and personality changes
I would say he sees the big picture better than any of the other Four Knights. Gawain and Percy are in it for individual battles, and Tristan mostly cares about his home: Lancelot is the strategist who understands why things are happening and what their enemies are doing
and GUINEVERE
(i could write about Guinevere forever)
Like, all NNT's couples complement each other in some way- wrath/mercy, plants/earth, death/truth- and the Camelot war is fated to happen
So of course Fate rides with War, because, shitty as it is, war is the only way to put anything right
they're both big-picture people. such egoistical, pragmatic assholes
and the PARALLELS. When we first meet Lancelot, he insists to Percival that he will cause the apocalypse, there's no escaping it, because it's ~destiny omg~- and when we meet Guinevere, she's insisting that Lancelot will be with her, for the same reason.
and of course Lancelot can shapeshift, because the impulsion to wanton violence exists in every creature
how he fucking hated growing up in the forest, because it was such a a peaceful hippie place
the only people who've been attracted to Lancelot are criminals (yes, Guinevere's stranger-kissing counts as sexual assault)
he's like the Helen of Troy of 4kota, like- his parents will probably fight Arthur because his minion kidnapped their baby, Jericho is fighting because she wants him (?), Guinevere is probably going to sabotage Camelot from the inside as a way of helping him. He is the motivation for SO MUCH fighting
he drags so many of the kids into Percival's quest and, by extension, the Camelot war
Percival didn't know Lancelot's real name/nature until late in the quest, as he was coming to understand that his grandfather's murder was a symptom of a bigger problem, that the attempts to assassinate him were part of a (W)ar
unrelated panel, 'cause it's pretty:

The look on his face in chapter 97 when her eye is revealed was always such a mystery to me. I mean we knew he knew who she was, but why was he so reserved, so emotionless? Ugh, what sweet summer children we all were... back then.

anyways i like how nakaba is flipping the circumstances of arthur&merlin... like around this time 100 chapters ago was arthur worrying and getting worked up over merlin since she got stoned and presumably died in 121, and then now its merlin worrying and getting worked up over his safety instead since his whereabouts are unknown (this is even neater since arthur still has no idea merlin has gotten her body back from that event too, so presumably, their reunion will be a mutual relief on either side because of this parallel)
