back from the sea. i haven't written in what feels like forever. instead i have; swam i the sea as farrrrr out as my bravery allowed, collected sea shells and in my exploring found 12 sand-dollars (from teeny to huge) ate fresh local seafood every night, and lots of chocolate chip pancakes..wandered into my favorite shops and came home with rolls of vintage lace and antique glass glitter. fried oreos and late nights on spinning rides, happy kids and a tired mama. i grew up spending weeks at the beach and im happy to bring this summer tradition to our family. we stay in 100+ year old cottage only steps awat from the ocean. i love the little backyard for it's shade -- most of the shore houses have little natural elements, but the owner left the pine trees and leafy beach plants to do their thing, and in return there's a little shady oasis (and a sweet vintage table)

can’t believe that i got so lucky with my sand-dollar search. they aren’t too common, but the storms off somewhere far must have caused an underwater commotion. the beach was busy, but no one else seemed to be walking, head constantly down looking for treasure. 

beach-witch magic:

make a faerie ring using shells, bits of driftwood, sea glas and seaweed for the ocean to retrive when the tide comes in. 

fill a jar with salt-water and leave it out during the full moon. use for water spells (i only do this if i plan on using it up within a few weeks time) 

write your fears in the sand using your fingers or a twig. let the tide come and sweep them away

make mobiles out of shells and driftwood to hang outdoors \

paint, collage and glitter away on collected clam shells. keep on your altar during the summer, and use for holding crystals or incense.
