Have another snippet because I’ve written 10k in two days and am buzzing to share some of it. (Also really hoping my tired brain can still distinguish between good and bad after 8 consecutive hours of writing). Put under the cut for nsfw reasons.

He hadn’t expected Simon to freeze up the way he did, then bury his face in the crook of Wille’s neck. He mumbled something unintelligible into the skin there. The gesture would’ve made Wille laugh under different circumstances. Right now, though, he just felt his stomach drop. Because shit, what if Simon didn’t need to keep condoms anymore? Wille knew he’d made sure to get regularly tested before Karim, and what with the two of them being in a monogamous relationship for five years-

“Do you not have any?” he pressed out, relieved to find that none of the crushing disappointment currently filling his stomach had made it into his voice. This could not be how this ended. Wille wasn’t sure he could take never getting to know what it felt like to be inside Simon, all because of a fucking lack of condoms.

All because someone else gets to fuck him all the time, the snide little voice he’d managed to ban to the very edge of his mind so far supplied him with.

If I were to start writing brocedes fic, what is some key lore I should definitely know/be aware of going into this? I'm fairly new to f1 and discovering all kinds of new ships and brocedes, galex, and lestappen are my top 3. But I think brocedes is the ship that has truly sunk its teeth into me, lol.

Any advice or major events I should include?

if you're writing canon accurate, then ykno they met as kids, were karting teammates, made a promise to each other in Greece, and then both in F1 became teammates and world champion and subsequently traded off that childhood friendship to be really intense rivals - that's the gist of their lore. Oh they also live in the same building in Monaco. That really blew my mind when I first got into F1. Lewis sends his daughters Christmas presents now

I know all the TikTok edits always include the Barcelona16 crash and it IS dramatic but it gives the false impression they were constantly crashing each other out on purpose to win, which was absolutely not the case. I can think of like 3 times where they touched with only barcelona16 leading to a double DNF and even that had a mechanical fault with nico's setup, so they were generally very clean racers

no but really the focus on pronouns Determining Actual Gender And Having Unique Social Roles in lgbt spaces is absolutely bizarre and beyond any form of basic material analysis of gender it exists in the real world. like speaking from experience you can literally be a stone butch lesbian who goes out of ur way to exclusively dress in traditionally masculine clothes, who uses a masculine name, who intentionally and explicitly plays a complex and deeply nonconforming gender role as both social performance art and for personal fulfilment, and then get lumped in by other lgbt people in the category of "she/her type" (and, more broadly, if you use she/her and are afab, you inevitably get labeled as 'cis' regardless of your actual gender performance as interpreted by the world writ large) just because you dont care enough about pronouns to determine and enforce the use of any others for yourself
