NitroRad and Eazy Speezy are extremely funny to me because they're on opposites sides of the commentary spectrum. Or more like, diagonally aside if you think of it more accurately as a square. Because NitroRad comments on games like he doesn't know what's gonna happen next despite being obvious he DOES because he clearly finished the game already (this pisses me off beyond belief) and Eazy comments on games like he knows what's going to happen next which is true most of the time since he played the same thing a shit ton of times due to being a speedrunner

NitroRad's new Yume Nikki video reminded me how much I loved it

Apologies if you're not really the person to send this to, but I thought that while we should keep scrutinizing the way Lily talks about media and, of course, put that in context of her allegations and behavior, I figured we should also point out really good alternatives to her work that are out there.

If anyone wants a good analysis of the Pokemon series that doesn't go off on Lily's extremely weird, personal, highly specific rants, I recommend KingK's video series on it.

Each gen is its own video, his voice is soothing, and he engages with the games on their terms and even calls himself out when he doesn't. He also doesn't lie about the games! His older videos are, of course, older, but he just did Sword and Shield and I found it to be a great watch, so there's a lot to love here.

If there's any credit that can be given to Lily's work, it's that it urged me to seek out far better, more salient, media criticism that stays on topic (and doesn't go off on weirdly racist, sexual tangents that don't relate to the work).

For other games, YourFavoriteSon is also a really good channel, with long videos about various series that go very in-depth on all the games in a given series. Each video is multiple hours, and he has huge compilations, too!

(Of course, if you go and engage with these works, leave Lily out of the comment section. Spare them the horrors. And to Lily fans who read this, leave the guys alone. They've got 0 idea of any of this stuff, and it should stay that way. Just relax and learn cool stuff about Pokemon or other games)

If you don’t mind me adding in some recommendations of my own: NegativeLegend is a great source of cartoon reviews/overviews. MertKayKay makes great, long video essays on a myriad of subjects (she had a really good one recently on the fascist themes in the Outlast Trials). NitroRad does interesting, old video game retrospectives (he once covered every Jimmy Neutron game and is doing the Tak series now). And SuperButterBuns and Snapcube are hilarious if you just wanna watch people play games!

(and just like twilidramon said, please don’t mention Lily in these people’s comments, they’re just random youtubers we’re recommending)

First impression Look...I did not know these two existed for a long time, especially in childhood. My first two WarioWare games were Touched and DIY and those two are barely in those games. But anyways finding out they exist was nothing much really. I mean I thought they were funny, but didn't think much beyond that. I swear young me was weird.

Impression now I like them. I love that Dribble is a big softy who wears his heart on his sleeve. Unfortunately with my big exposure of Spitz was being Gold, him having a temper is stuck in my brain. Spitz is typically a cool headed fella. I hope they get paid more though...

Favorite moment Them getting stiffed by Alien Mitzi. Dude, Tomorrow Hill is a bop. Though Spitz losing his shit in Gold is imprinted in my brain forever. Thanks NitroRad.

Idea for a story Honestly a fic about Spitz chilling in the tub sounds nice about now... Ooh or a hot springs trip in space...sorry for the fixations...

Unpopular opinion I'm ambivalent about the two being in a romantic relationship now. I get how it happens, and I support it, but I also support folks who just say they are boss and worker and that's about it. I try to be chill about headcanons. Maybe someday mines (about the twins and Lulu) will be accepted? Idk.

Favorite relationship There was some cute artworks about them being babysitters to the twins and I love it very much. The taxi drivers' own bond with each other is splendid too...needs to be thought of more often.

Favorite headcanon They have car seats packed in the trunk for the ninja twins because 5-Volt lectured them on car safety. Things were...mildly heated to say the least.
