"Age of Fire" is fashioned from a forest fire that I witnessed years ago outside of Santa Fe. The shape is what I call an archetypal form, one that occurs repeatedly in Nature. The cloud wings suggest to me the outstretched arms of a divinity in supplication. Indeed, I see it as a mythical spectre that "walks" the earth spawning lightning and fire. Science now proclaims that something ominous is loose among us. I believe that in years to come we will experience fire as we have never known it before. - Artist's statement
