I don't know if I'm going to do one on each, since most of these kinda bugle down to the same thing (I'm socially awkward, I hyperfixate, I don't always know how to express myself, I'm often online, I'm a bit chubby but try not to let that get to me, I generally try to be friendly and I mostly like to be left alone).

I will say out of all these characters, I probably identify with Loona most of all. In that we're both very distant from the people around us, preferring to talk to people online and just surf the web than talk to a real person. Usually because we're extremely socially awkward and have no idea how to start a conversation with anyone. Plus, while not as violent as Loona, we do both can have a pretty nasty temper and a proficiency to swear a lot. We also have some trust issues, can be lazy and don't always talk personal things out to everyone, even when we probably should.

Its not. Its a variation I made inspired by his own. If you compare the sprites you would notice differences.

You’ll just have to wait and see. ;) IF Frisk is a complex character, though keen observers may pick up on some of their more subtle quirks/tendencies.

@gordhanx and @nintendogamemaster both requested Maleficent and Hades so here we go :D

The thing about Maleficent and Hades, however, is that I see them as an asexual couple (Maleficent is ace; Hades isn’t but he respect those boundaries). So any kids that they have will be adopted, and I don’t see either of them as adopting a child as an infant just for the sake of having kids. So their kid(s) would end up being a case like Riku where they take them under their wings as teenagers and nurture them in the ways of darkness.

SO, with that in mind:

Name: Xaven

Gender: Male

General Appearance: Black hair, smug smirk, green eyes, tendency to have green or blue fire magic coming off of him. He doesn’t have real horns, but he definitely has a small horned headdress of sorts to echo Maleficent. Favors purple, black, blue, and gray in colors.

Personality: Hard headed and fairly intelligent, he can be a bit reserved and keep to himself (like Maleficent) but he also has a big theatrical personality when he wants to. When he’s doing his villain thing, he just milks that Disney villain theatrical over the top fantasy for all it’s worth. He’s also definitely got a tendency to tell really bad jokes that make you cringe (like Hades). He’s always wanted power and respect growing up, and he joins Maleficent’s side willingly to act as her new Riku.

Special Talents: He was trained by Maleficent and Hades quite thoroughly in the art of darkness. He’s not really a competent physical warrior, but in terms of dark mages, you’d be pressed to find one more deadly. Pyromancy is a specialty of his.

Who they like better: He likes both of his “parents” but he’s closer to Maleficent. He puts her on the highest pedestal imaginable, and he’s eager to do whatever it takes to please her. He and Hades joke around with each other and have a good relationship, but Hades doesn’t compare to the level of respect and devotion that Xaven has for Malef.

Who they take after more: He wants badly to be the next Maleficent, so he’s taken a lot of efforts to model himself as much after his “mother” as possible. Even before he joined their side, he admired her power from afar. Though that’s not to say that he doesn’t take after Hades quite a bit as well.

Personal Headcanon: He’s gay, and part of why he felt such a desire to be powerful and respected was because of how he was bullied for his sexuality when he was younger. Also, between him and Riku, I think Maleficent just kinda has a thing for taking angry gay teens under her wing XD

Face Claim: I mean, it’s probably obvious to some of you who my actual faceclaim for this character is, but in the interest of not being super weird, I’m gonna go with Daniel Radcliffe.

@nintendogamemaster You tempt me into writing a story in which I reveal halfway through that one of the characters was naked the whole time and it just never came up in the prose. It is revealed when a side character comes upon the main party and yells “WHY ARE YOU NAKED?”.

That depends on what kind of sprites you’re after.  Ones with backgrounds were made by the Mod (and some more recent ones by me) using gooncam.  The ones without backgrounds were made by No Comment, Meme?, and CE53.  There are also a few others, but the maker of those asked us to keep those links a secret.  I hope you’re able to make good use of them!

Is this the one?  I love that one, too.  It’s both touching in the way it brings out Franziska’s sensitive side, and hilarious in the image it creates of her whipping those poor doctors until they either call the police or get back to treating that man.

You know something?  That’s just about the nicest thing that can be said about any ask blog, and I can’t thank you enough for saying it about ours.  Character interaction is what I’m all about, and I’m happy to help you and others enjoy it!  And if it helps build your confidence, that’s a nice bonus, too!

And yeah, our queue’s still pretty full (slightly over 1000 letters), but it’s definitely a lot smaller than it used to be.  I’ve had to delete quite a few of them, by the way, so feel free to ask what happened to your letter if you’ve been waiting for an answer for longer than a couple months.

Dear power-joe-fanclub,

Well, first let me congratulate you for topping Shy Anon (no offense to them); they said the nicest thing that can be said about an ask blog, but what you said might be the nicest thing one can say about a comedian.  Flipping someone’s mood from sadness to joy is something I wish I could do all the time, but being able to do it at all is a huge blessing for me, so I’m very glad you to decided to let us know about it.

I happen to be going through a lot myself right now, most of it being emotional stress.  I’ve been struggling to let go of things from my past, worrying about where I should go next career-wise, and letting things bother me that probably don’t even matter.  Not to mention the holidays are coming up, which creates even more stress.

This reminds me of something the Mod once said on this blog; I couldn’t find the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of, “Sometimes life sucks, and you just have to let it suck.”  My interpretation of that is, some problems don’t have an easy or obvious solution; you just have to wait them out until they leave you alone.  Another helpful quote from the Mod is, ���Just remember, the reason life sucks is because there are enough good moments to show you the difference.”  In other words, the good parts of life are always worth going through the bad parts to reach them.  I’m still in the process of learning that lesson, so don’t feel bad if it takes you a while.

And one other thing, which I’ve said multiple times in the past, but I’ll say it again: it’s not just me and the other Mods who keep this blog running -- it’s you and the others who write letters for us to answer.  It’s a two-way gift as I see it, so thanks a bunch!

You know? Fun thing is reboot Webby resembles sightly more Darkwing Beyond Web in the action girl sense than original Webby.

Since this is mostly about my main comics and not GLAB, I’ll answer this via Text. If you want to ask me Mod questions, I highly recommend the Mod Blog.

Yeah, Reboot Webby is a MILLION Times better than my Darkening of her. For starters, they obviously had a plan beyond just wanting to use her. She definitely has things going for her that makes her an important character and not someone there to have a small backstory and not be a main focus. She is closer to Gosalyn, both the original and my version, than my version of Webby. Add to that a little awkwardness and you have a fun character with a lot of future story potential.

Its the difference between professionals with an idea and a hobbiest with an idea.

Tons of people are going to hate me for asking this, but...Instead of relasing part 15 today, what if you relase it in the anniversary as an special?^^

That’s the plan, actually. Part 15′s SCRIPT is done, but I still need to assemble the panels.Ideally, it should only take a few hours, but we shall see.While I’m here, though, I am wondering… Would you guys be disappointed if I stopped animating talksprites? It looks more authentic to the game, but it adds a lot of production time for what is ultimately a small detail. Time I could spend on other parts of production, meaning the story would progress quicker.I’d still do gifs where appropriate, of course. It’s just that with the way I make the comic, each talksprite gif requires me to save a frame twice, then make a gif out of those two frames. When you’re working with 150+ images an update… it’s slow going and tedious.EDIT:  As clarification, talksprites will remain! I just won’t be animating them except for special circumstances.
