I'll be honest, like with Ura I'm not set with Kin's tail yet, so the fact that the pose ended up hiding the tail was an happy accident lol.

But alas. I could not escape it 😔 /j

I considered giving him a bear tail but who am I to deny myself a big fluffy tail (also I like the idea that the others can use it as a pillow). Second option was something poofy similar to how I draw tanuki tails, but I don't really think it fits him. Ended up going with a curled up fluffy tail so that it keeps the fluff without being too long (I don't think long swishy tails would fit him for some reason) (Also accidentally ended up being a reference to the fact that I thought he was supposed to represent a dog at first)

Big Finish Doctor Who: Salvation Nine and Anarchist Sontarans

So I finally got around to listening to some Big Finish audio dramas. And I must say I LOVED one of Christopher Eccleston's stories, namely Salvation Nine. And I have so many thoughts about it. Apart from the great production and top tier acting, the writing is some of the best I've seen in any Doctor Who media so far.

On a very deep level, seeing Sontarans evolve into a peaceful anarchist society brings an important message about the "nature" of any society. So often people like to think of "human nature" as a justification of this specific version of societal organization that we're stuck with. And that simply isn't true. If anything it made me a bit mad that most of the time when the Doctor meets humans in the future, they keep living in very hierarchical societies. Salvation Nine feels like the best Doctor Who has to offer, the kind of sci-fi Ursula K LeGuin would write, an exploration of a powerful political and philosophical concept through the narrative device of visiting an alien world. Only this time it's only enhanced by having a preexisting idea of what Sontarans are, a "warrior race", subverting decades of lore, in a way that only a show like Doctor Who could.
