It’s been a little bit since I’ve posted anything. The last couple weeks have been really rough. Last Wednesday I started cycle 9, round 1, my overall 17th chemo infusion, and it kicked my ass so much that I woke up in a whole new year 😂. I started getting a fever on Friday and basically went to bed and woke up at some point on Monday feeling a bit better, and then felt a lot better yesterday, just in time for another round of chemo today. It’s hard to spend the days between chemo feeling so crummy and missing out on so much to finally start feeling normal just in time for another round. Today was round 2 of cycle 19 and my 18th overall chemo infusion. I’m really hoping this one doesn’t hit as hard as the last one, but honestly, it probably will. This is hard treatment and, unfortunately, I have a lot of things going against me in this fight. But what I focus on is that the chemo is working, the cancer isn’t spreading, and my body is tolerating it well enough to keep on going. My only plan for this year is to live and enjoy life as much as I can because that’s all I have control over right now, even that is somewhat controlled by cancer’s side effects, but I’m excited for what I have planned so far for this new year and hope to have some more energy for art posts soon! I hope everyone enjoys each day as much as you can because you have no idea what is in store for tomorrow. I wish you all a very happy 2023!!! last song: Future Starts Now because I'm trying to compile an ideal tracklist for the scrapped Problematique album and I don't know what to do with it. It's obviously an opening song, but then, so is Problematique, and personally (despite that unbelievably poorly written opening) I like Problematique more sonically, while FSN feels more like a middle song? If anyone has solutions to this and/or alternative tracklists please let me know. If you don't know what I'm talking about be blessed.

last show: OFMD which solidified the fact that I simply do not like television. Incredible show, so well-done, exactly what I enjoy, and I was just dying over it being serialized. Absolutely tragic.

currently watching: Getting back into GMM! I stopped for a bit due to a sudden onset Cutthroat Kitchen obsession which I watched when I would've been watching GMM but now I'm back and it's just so cute I love it so much.

currently reading: Don't shame me on this, guys. I've been assigned an ARC of The Story of The Hundred Promises which is wonderful thus far, but I'm reading at least three other books with two books lined up right after... not to mention the series...!

current obsession: I need to figure out this Kim Petras thing.

Today was such a great day and I’m so thankful for so many things. I’m thankful that I was able to spend time with family and felt pretty good today for the first time in weeks. Being with family really helped. I’m thankful for each day I wake up, my amazing team of doctors and nurses that are helping me get through this third and unfortunate cancer journey. Most of all, I’m thankful for everyone in my life who makes me feel loved and special. Last night I worried I would miss family time today due to a fever, and I’ve missed plenty of holidays due to cancer in the past and I didn’t want to repeat that again, and I’m so happy it worked out! I do wish I would have kept my original plan and spent the next couple days with my wonderfully wacky twin, but I was too worried about the fever I had last night and that it would come back, but at least I’ll see her on Saturday still. I hope you all had a wonderful day full of things to be thankful for, but I also know that holidays can be hard for some. Day 11 Inktober - I know, it’s day 25, but at this point I’m just having fun doing the different prompts when I am feeling up for it and have time and energy. There is nothing wrong with taking your time. 😊 For this prompt I decided to combine #Inkwood prompt “Moon” with #artsnacksink prompt “Rose” . I liked my pencil shading in the moon more since inking the moon got a little crazy with my dog demanding my attention, but I love how the roses turned out. November is #pancreaticcancerawarenessmonth and I’m wearing purple for myself. Today was round 2 of cycle 7 and my 14th overall chemo session. The past week has been difficult with steady low grade fevers since Wednesday last week and then Saturday night through Monday night with several higher fevers over the 100.4 threshold of needing to visit the ER. However, my stubborn self didn’t want to go to the ER since I didn’t want to miss thanksgiving and the ER tends to admit me to the hospital when I go in. So I chanced it. Tuesday I had a mild fever, otherwise I was all ready to head to the ER, I didn’t get a fever today, and my counts were still okay to receive chemo this afternoon. I talked to one of my doctors before getting chemo to let them know about the fevers and they still okayed me for chemo (I’m trying not to have to push chemo back so I can keep my chemo free week for Christmas). If I felt worse or the Tylenol did help the fever then I would have gone into the ER because I’m not that stupid. I do listen to my body and my body was telling me that the ER docs would just ask me why I was there like they usually do. This isn’t my first or second rodeo dealing with chemo fevers and I never would have questioned going to the ER for a fever during leukemia, but there’s a little bit more leeway with this cancer, not much, but more than leukemia. I also wasn’t neutropenic but will be after this last round so I know that if I get a fever over 100.4 then I have to go in because my immune system will be too low to fight off whatever is causing the fever. My fingers are crossed that a fever doesn’t creep up tonight or in the next couple days so I can spend some time with family. Today was round one of cycle #7 and my overall 12th round of chemotherapy to fight this non-curable, stage 4, metastatic pancreatic cancer. Due to increased neuropathy (numbness and tingling in my hands and feet) the doctors reduced the Abraxine dosage by half to see if that improves the neuropathy. The numbness and tingling in my fingers has been annoying mostly because it’s been keeping me from being able to hold a pen, pencil, paintbrush, or anything, with out dropping it. It is also hard to control it since sometimes there’s no feeling in my fingers, or because the tingling is kind of painful since it feels like little pinpricks when something touches my skin. Im hopeful that reducing the dosage helps, but it also makes me nervous to reduce a drug that is helping to keep the cancer from spreading or growing. But I trust my doctors since they are amazing and if we need to slowly increase the dose back up, then we will. We also are trying some new pain management hoping to get the pain more under control for longer periods since that has been an issue the last week. Hopefully post chemo is good this week so I can enjoy the very eventful weekend and then that next week chemo goes session also goes well so I can enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends! Here’s my #Inktober2022 setup as well as a few #inktober pieces that I haven’t shared yet. It’s not as crazy as past years since I really reduced the materials I was using this year to help challenge myself and haven’t spent a lot of time at my desk. I was going to use all the supplies from my first ever @artsnacks Inktober box, but life had another plan. I haven’t had a whole lot of energy and chemo fevers make things harder to stay on top of things so I’ve just been doing my best at getting drawings done when I can and most of them have been done on the road, or in the hospital until recently. I’m hoping to be able to use this setup for a little bit, but in all honesty, it will probably move to my bed. Lol. But I can’t wait for my week off chemo to hopefully have more energy to get more drawings done and eventually use more supplies from my #artsnacks boxes! Happy #inktober2022 @artsnacks day 1 prompt “match”. I really narrowed down my supplies for this one and just used my Ohuhu fine liners and the Faber Castell Pitt pens from artsnacks Inktober box. The first two days of October have me traveling and busy so I only brought a few supplies with me and I really love these Faber Castell pens! I might just stick with these supplies because they were so much fun and different for me to use, but we shall see. I do want to incorporate the Liquitex acrylic ink in turquoise that I also got from the Inktober box so I may add that as background color. We shall see! It’s been a while since I’ve posted because it’s been a very busy and exhausting couple of months trying to figure things out with my poor puppers. Hopefully we are on the right track now to her feeling better.
