So we know during the Oni Trilogy Master Wu was rapidly aging, and supposedly stopping at the end of Season 9.
But then in Season 11 he is shown to look a bit older, opening two possible options:
The six month period just let him age naturally, no Time Blade involved
Some point between Seasons 10 and 11 he had one final age jump, though probably nowhere near as drastic as the previous ones

Me when I'm in a "Not explaining where the fuck our ancient evil demonic forces who were said to be the counterparts and equals to dragons had bummed off to for several centuries or how they somehow became SO powerful that they could finally beat the dragons" competition and my opponent in Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, Season 10: March of the Oni.

I was just thinking the other day about what would happen if you showed a 6 year old from 2011 the future seasons of Ninjago —yes, while there are many much more interesting developments such as Nya being a ninja and Cole learning more about his mother — you're all forgetting another, very crucial thing that seriously changed.
Lloyd and Garmadon's relationship.
Imagine some kid happily watching Garmadon rescue his son from the Fire Temple and thinking wow, for Ninjago's greatest villain, he isn't that bad of a dad. His own son's gonna be his downfall and he's actually proud of him for that. Wish he's my dad.
And then you show them crystalized and they're like:
Tumblr media
...what the fuck happened.

Thinking about how Ninjago S2 is probably one of my favorite pieces of television I've ever watched. It flows so well off of season 1 and allows those arcs to spread and grow.
It gave us the Mega Weapon, the Stone Army, the Overlord, lore for the Destiny's Bounty, let us actually meet Zane's dad, Misako, cured Garmadon, gave Lloyd his best arc (which the movie pretty much pulled from and the show still does), still is the Overlord's best defeat,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The characters actually have interesting dynamics with each and every one of each other that allows them to truly feel like a found family with history (and both Jay AND Kai get to react to things that happen to Nya, not just her Yin),
Tumblr media
We got one of my favorite 3D-animated fights of all time,
Tumblr media
And let's be honest, the show peaked right here (in a positive way).

It is both hilarious and sad how the ninjago fandom has gone from wanting a villain Kai season, to just begging for a Kai-focused season in general

List of Ninjago City events that have and have not caused power outages.
This is mainly going to be a list with a few analyses & theories dropped here and there.
I am listing this chronologically by season, but not DR, mainly because during the events in Episodes 1 & 20, it is not clear if there was any power outages or not.
This list is specifically events impacting Ninjago City, so events such as the Preeminent attacking Stiix is not going to be listed.
If I have missed events that you feel are important to list, feel free to let me know! I will fix it and credit you on the catch.
Season 1
Great Devourer Attack: No power outage, based on the TVs and everything still being on
Season 2
Stone Army Attack (Day Ninjago Stood Still): No power outage, based on Gayle Gossip being able to broadcast on the news that everyone should evacuate.
Overlord Attack: Power outage. No building lights shown during this time. Power outage appears to be caused by weird Overlord magic opposed to something being actually knocked out in the Grid.
Season 3:
Storm Farm: Power outage. Probably most obvious one, based on there being a whole episode where the end goal is the ninja to take out Ninjago City's power corrupted by the Overlord. Possibly longest lasting outage in the show, with it being confirmed to have gone on for days by the angry citizens. At this point, it is confirmed that Ninjago City has one source of power. The Storm Farms are probably still used after Season 3, but it isn't that hard to believe that Ninjago City decided to use other sources for their power grid after this point as well.
Season 6:
Ninjago City Being Split and Pieces Starting to Float: No power outage for whole City. Gayle Gossip and NGTV news is shown broadcasting about the issue. Areas that got split and floated away probably lost power though, due to literally being disconnected from the grid.
Season 7:
Forward Time Blade: Brief power outage (if I'm remembering correctly). Power went off for a couple seconds and then came back on, and in the Bounty's case, sent alarms going off.
(Note about Present Getting Messed With in the Finale: Even though power is confirmed to be gone, I'm not counting this as either a power outage or no power outage, because the present was changed to not have electronics whatsoever)
Season 8:
Emperor Garmadon Attack: No power outage. Billboards are still shown lit up and everything
Season 9:
Emperor Garmadon's Reign: No power outage. Despite the City being a wreck, lights & TVs are still shown to be on.
Season 10:
Oni Attack: Power Outage. It is shown that when the Oni tendrils gets close to lights, and almost everything else electrical, they get shut off. Like the Overlord attack of Season 2, nothing in the grid is actually knocked out, but the power outage is initiated by magical means.
Season 11:
Aspheera Attack: No power outage. Despite fire balls being everywhere, power still appears to be on everywhere.
Preeminent Attack (Kaiju Protocol): No power outage. Despite buildings getting absoutely battered from the Preeminent's impacts, building lights are still shown to be on. And when PIXAL plugs herself into the electrical generator, there are not any effects actually shown.
Season 12:
Prime Empire Initiation: No power outage. This may not be important to add, but for a shockwave affecting electronics, it noticeably only turned off video games for a split second, then reprogrammed them as Prime Empire.
Unagami Attack: No noticeable power outage. Borg Tower still has power functioning, but that could just be Borg Tower. We see nothing indicating that power is out for the rest of the City.
Season 14:
Wojira Pulse (Episode 2): No noticeable power outage. We see the shock wave hit the city, but don't see the effects. But based on how it affected the Monastery, which was also hit, electricity was not affected at all. Only water. (Probaby due to Kalmaar trying to wake up Wojira while she only had the Wave amulet)
Wojira Attack: Power outage. In the beginning of the attack, we see the lights and everything still on. But as the attack proceeds, we also see lights flicker and die out, and at the end of the attack, little to no lights still on.
Season 15:
Shockwave From Draining Nya's Power: Power outage. And it's an obvious one. We see the power go right after the shockwave hits certain parts of the City, with building lights going completely black. One strange thing to note however is that the Monastery's power is not shown to be affected in the aftermath. First most believable circumstance was that the shockwave had not gained enough power yet to knocked power out. Second most believable circumstance is that the shockwave briefly knocked the power out for a second or two, and then rebooted quickly.
Overlord Attack: Power outage. Like Season 2's attack, the outage was caused by magical means, with the temple emitting a radiation that targeted electrical devices.
I honestly wanted the make this mainly to show how strong Ninjago City's power grid appears to be. Also, it appears that usually when there is a power outage, the Overlord is in some way involved.
I was originally going to make a short post about the Overlord, and then decided in the shower to do a whole list. And in a few days, I'll probably start a rewatch of the entire Ninjago show just to look for boats, and then post the first list in a few weeks. Which I also thought about doing while in the shower.

March of the Oni good
@ninja-guy-yo ‘s post about Crystalized got me thinking about how good of a sendoff March of the Oni was. It wrapped up all the main characters’ story arcs while giving them all something to do.
Tumblr media
Lloyd Fresh off the heels of Hunted and SoG, Lloyd initially doesn’t trust a word his father says. But when they get 1-on-1 time on the Bounty and in the city, whenever Garmadon shows the smallest hint of humanity (saving Lloyd from an Oni, looking wistfully at a pic of his past self), Lloyd immediately clings onto it, looking for the good in him that Garmadon swears doesn’t exist. He only backpedals whenever Garmadon does, angstily claiming “fine, he doesn’t care either >:’I” in an attempt to mask and push down his own feelings as well (it doesn’t work lol he’s too sweet). I think the perfect summation of their relationship is the scene on the Bounty. Garmadon looks at a past picture of him and Lloyd, struggling to remember the memory and what it felt like before ultimately brushing his feelings aside and throwing the image, cracking it and claiming that feelings of the past are useless to cling onto or something like that. Lloyd spitefully (angstily) yells back in agreement and throws the photograph in the trash, only to return a few seconds later and pull it out again. Despite everything Garmadon’s done to him, done to the world, Lloyd still loves and wants to trust his father (Crystalized FUCKED my boy what the fuck).
Jay Jay gets a subplot of trying ask Nya to be his Yang. After the rollercoaster of buildup and all the shit they and their relationship have been through, he’s finally ready to pop the question... iff he wasn’t so bad at it. In true Jay fashion he fusses over the “perfect moment” and getting it “just right”, his own awkwardness and anxiousness often contributing to ruining the mood (though his horrible timing doesn’t help either). He finally asks her in the final episode, and it’s a very nice cherry on top of their relationship that’s been building since before Season 1. He finally found the confidence to ask Nya while being himself, wrapping a bow on this ongoing plot thread in a heart-wrenching way (look I’ve been a Jaya fan ever since I was a kid, that scene hit me hard).
Pixal Pixal gets the chance to be badass as she dives head-first into a cloud-covered Ninjago City to save Lloyd and Garmadon, risking her life while she burns through her suit’s fuel above the cloud. Without her being there, the ninja wouldn’t have been able to save the others at the NGTV news building while also getting the Garmadons out of there. The scene where she narrowly avoids the building is so cool because like, they could’ve just had her miss the building. It would have been easier to animate, as they wouldn’t have had to worry about the effects of the sparks, or the Garmadons reacting to the impact, or the camera shaking and sound effects, or anything, but they did that for us. They had Pixal nearly collide with the building for dramatic effect and put in the extra work to really have us feel the tension. Just a really great moment for Pixal, she’s come such a long way from Season 3.
Cole Cole’s role in this season is actually HUGE, WAY bigger than you’d initially think. After his fearful encounter with the Cloud and death fake out, you think, “oh that’s it, just a cheap trick to create an emotional reaction.” But NO! Cole’s supposed fall to the cloud is super important in the way the story splits after this. The loss of Cole creates a huge gap between Garmadon and the others, which leads to his introspection and question about the meaning of life. It leads to the moment between Kai and Nya, which is super emotional and sweet. Even when Cole is revealed to be unfrozen he gets to do something. By getting to his car outside the building, he forces himself to face his fear of the cloud, harkening back to his initial fear of dragons in the Pilots. He forces himself to confront his fear and risk asphyxiation for the sake of his friends who need him, and I dunno how to end this, I just think it’s really cool and neat. :>
Zane While not as big or impactful as the others, Zane gets a little moment when he tells off Garmadon for thinking he’d be the “logical one” as a Nindroid, instead getting the chance to display just how human he is. He isn’t just “the smart one” or “the robot”, he’s Zane, and he won’t just avoid greiving his friend just because he’s the most “”intelligent””. This defiant stand is a real culmination of Zane’s identity problems.
Nya Nya gets a sweet moment with Kai after she blames herself for Cole’s fall. It’s probably the first genuinely good sibling moment they’ve had since like, ever. Kai comforts Nya in his own Kai way, stumbling over his words but still managing to say the things she needed to hear. After the encouragement, Nya then gets the idea to recreate the golden weapons. There’s a really nice comedic moment when she’s explaining it to Kai, who doesn’t quite get it the first few times, but after he does, she turns the encouragement back on him when he doubts that his blacksmithing skills could recreate the weapons. It’s a really sweet moment where both siblings contribute emotionally to the conversation and perfectly leads into the recreation of the weapons while acknowledging and discussing Nya’s guilt. She also gets a cool moment with Pixal as they speed towards each other, claiming “I’m not gonna lose another one today!” Fuck yeah girlbosses fuck it up
Kai The main man who’s no longer the main man and keeps getting sidelined lol. Ignoring Kai’s visceral reaction to Cole falling (I don’t think I could take it right now that scene is really good), Kai returning to blacksmithing after 10 seasons is a really, REALLY good way of having things come full circle. It perfectly shows just how far he’s come as a character by having the patience and experience to recreate these important and powerful weapons. Some may find it bogus or whatever, but in the pilots, the advice Nya gives to him while blacksmithing is to “be patient”. While Kai still has the firecracker energy sometimes, he’s grown, and now knows how to stifle and control the fire when he needs to, slowly and meticulously working to recreate the golden weapons. It is just, such a good way to circle back to the beginning of his journey and the entire series as a whole guys you have no idea.
Garmadon Evil daddio himself. At first you think, haha, this’ll be fun, Garmadon being a comedic and morbid foil to the ninja with his cynical take on life. But then after Cole’s “death” there’s a shift. Lloyd’s snap at him causes Garmadon to contemplate the real “meaning” of life. Up to this point there were a few hints that he’s not all evil, and the Cole event is what pushes him over the brink. They beautifully follow up on Garmadon failing to kill Lloyd during Hunted, being held back by feelings deep within his being, by showing him awkwardly trying to understand the others and be more “human”. The scene where he tries to smile at Lloyd becomes so much more sad and impactful when you realize that he wasn’t giving him a “haha I’m totally gonna betray you and run away just you watch”, it was a “you can trust me” smile. The way his attention holds on the picture of his past self is really impactful, and that conversation with Vinny man, *mwah* perfection incarnate, perfect blend of comedy and emotion, with a laid-back attitude thanks to Vinny’s way of speaking mixed with solemn contemplation thanks to the mood, music, and the stoic way Garmadon reacts, pure brilliance. And if you still didn’t get it, Omega taunts Garmadon for being more human than he lets on, trying to grapple (and in some cases, suppress) that side of himself that yearns to understand mortals that he pushed down in order to be an effective conqueror, but has been slowly coming to light.
And finally, the Monastery, the place where it all began. Having the fog start at ground level was the perfect way to ensure that the final stand be at the Monastery, high up on the mountain. The weapons are back, Cole reunites with the others, and everyone gets in a bit of butt-kicking before they’re forced inside. They once again believe this may be the end, reminiscent of their conversation in Season 2 when contemplating if this battle would be their last. Jay proposes to Nya and she accepts, which, <33333, and Lloyd gets the idea to try the Tornado of Creation against beings of Destruction, even getting Garmadon to join in (really cool to have Lloyd come up with the idea, since from the beginning he’s usually the one to offer a different point of view [the idea to look for the Serpentine underground]). There’s a really sweet moment where, as Garmadon’s watching the others begin the tornado, wondering is he should, or can, join in, he looks to the murals and sees the green Lloyd get covered by the darkness, hardening his resolve and finally spurring him into action (looking too far into it, but it’s also the first time he’s used his father’s art after being revived I think). After Lloyd meets the FSM and is brought back to life, there’s a sweet moment where the others bring him inside while talking with him, real found family stuff, you love to see it. Finally, before Garmadon leaves, he and his brother share a look, as Garmadon leaves. You don’t know where he’s going, but you get the sense that he isn’t going to bother them again, instead leaving to find his place in the world. Though him and Lloyd don’t make up by the end of MotO, I don’t think they could’ve satisfyingly with all the damage Garm’s done. But just standing by his son’s side once again is enough to signify that at least a little, their relationship is healing.  I could keep gushing about the final mural they make, the side characters we’ve gotten to know celebrating with them, the pan up to Firstborne, etc., but I think the scene speaks for itself. While a bit rocky in excution, March of the Oni was a perfect sendoff for Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu and the characters within it, giving each character an emotional and narrative contribution to the story while wrapping things up.
And then Season 11 opened with a fart joke :p
P. S. No hate to Season 11! I’m just joshing.

Jay woke up, rubbing his eyes. It was a day like any other day; get ready, eat breakfast, go on patrol, et cetera.
Today though, something was. . . Different. He checked his calendar. Tuesday. Wasn’t yesterday Saturday? Maybe his memory was messing with him, or maybe he had slept through a few days.
He chuckled slightly. *Yeah right. Cole would’ve woken me up by then.* He squinted at the calendar again, shrugged, then stepped out into the hallway.
Heading to the kitchen, he paused. Did they have something today? Something. . . Special? *Eh, probably getting confused. I’ll have to ask Zane about that.* He hoped it wasn’t something too bad.
He sat down at the table, leaning back in his chair. Cole sat at the other side, foot tapping the ground. “Hey, good morning.” He greeted the black ninja, who nodded, seeming almost. . . Absent.
“Yeah, good morning.” To someone else, this wouldn’t be too weird; Cole was never a morning person. But to Jay, something was off, albeit ever so slightly.
“Oh, uh. Yeah.” He bounced in his chair, waiting for Zane to finish making the waffles. *Mmm, waffles.* He smiled. Waffles were Jay’s favorite. He looked at Cole. “We are having waffles today, right? Not pancakes?” He didn’t mind pancakes, they were just less-appealing.
Cole glanced at him, fingers drumming the table. “Uh, yeah. I think so. . . .”
Weird, Cole was usually excited for breakfast, but today. . . .
“Hey, are you feeling okay?” Jay asked. This felt weirdly familiar, but he couldn’t place it. The black ninja waved his hand dismissively. “Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” He looked away.
Jay frowned. *What’s going on, and why do I feel like this has happened before?*
~~~
Jay sat on the back of the bike, watching the trees go by. “Why are we out here, again? I thought we were supposed to be patrolling the city.”
Cole kept driving. “I wanted to find something.” His hands gripped the handlebars, almost crushing them.
“Um, maybe don’t break the steering?” *Break the steering. Hmm. Has that happened before?*
He shook his head to clear it. After a few more minutes, they stopped. They had entered a small clearing bordered by moss-covered boulders, almost like a fairy circle - just without the mushrooms.
Jay got off the bike. “/Why/ are we here?” He looked at Cole. “Are you bringing me to some fantasy fairy land? Are you working with them?”
Cole rolled his eyes, stifling a laugh. “No, Jay. You really need to get better at making up theories. Just because Serpentine and Dragons exist doesn’t mean every folklore creature does, too.”
He walked away a bit, studying the rocks.
Jay frowned. “Okay, well, Oni exist too. Maybe you’re working for /them!/”
Cole’s brown and purple eyes flashed, and Jay realized that he had gone too far.
The black ninja turned to him, eyes narrowed. “Excuse me, but I believe that would make me a traitor.” His voice had lowered to a hiss.
Jay backed away a little. *This has happened before, I’m sure of it. It happened when - /oh no/.* His eyes widened.
“Wait, Cole don’t!” Too late, the black ninja had already done it.
Cole’s earth punch activated, lava dripping lazily onto the ground, burning the grass. The boulders around them lit up with an orange glow, ghostly purple and green sparking in the air.
Jay’s hair puffed up with static, and he took a step back. He was ready for it this time, he wasn’t going to let his best friend get taken by that - that /thing/.
As the boulders lifted inches into the air, the ground cracked beneath him. Cole looked down, breaking his concentration. “I didn’t order it to -“
Ghostly mist emerged from the cracks, slowly moving upwards to engulf the Master of Earth’s legs. Cole’s eyes widened, flashing green and purple. “No no, not again.”
*It reminds him of the Oni smoke.* Jay remembered. *He’s panicking, oh crap.*
Suddenly, tentacles shot up from the cracks and grabbed Cole’s arms, trying to drag him down. “Preeminent?!” His voice rose to an angry, inhuman, screech. “Let go! Go back to where you came from!”
The Cursed Realm didn’t abide, only tightened her grip.
The Preeminent pulled him down, ground splitting open to swallow him. *He’s being destroyed by his own element.*
Jay rushed forward, electricity crackling around him. “Wait!”
~~~
Jay woke up, rubbing his eyes. It was a day like any other day; get ready, eat breakfast, go on patrol, et cetera.
Today though, something was. . . Different. He checked his calendar. Tuesday.
*Oh no.*
