Back when Fynn was in the Spit and desperately trying to manipulate the ninja to help get him out (without them knowing in a sense) he really made himself seem like a bad guy. They didnt take kindly to that. Gave him a few owies for it.

I want Kai to go absolutely fucking ballistic one day. I want him to be so he'll bent on protecting his family that he would stop at nothing, and I mean nothing to protect them, even if it means disregarding his values.

I want Nya to get hurt and he gets flashbacks from the day she left and I want his vision to go red and for him to not know if it's because he's angry or if that bastard's blood is in his eyes.

I want him livid when someone says some untrue shit shutupshutupshup about Jay and his heritage. I want him to punch them until he needs to be held back.

I want Zane to have to physically remove Kai from a scene because he was trembling with poorly contained rage when this dickhead started talking about messing with Zane's parts, of taking him apart-- his brother, his family, hishishis.

I want to see Cole's reaction when he walks in on Kai standing over a clearly terrified Lou after a long, tiring fight Cole and his father had. I want to see the murderous glint in Kai's eyes as he lists off the reasons why Lou doesn't deserve the joy that is Cole and how Lou shouldn't even be breathing right now but Kai would never never do something that would hurt his brother, even if he completely disagrees with it.

God forbid, I want Lloyd to be bordering on a panic attack as he confronts his oni side, the dangerous, angry, horrifying beast inside of himself. I want Lloyd to look at the person that he is so so angry at breathing heavily, leaning on his brother Kai tearfully and in pain. I want him to look into Kai's eyes, expecting words of suppression, telling him to calm down, to come back to himself, that his rage is unrational. But instead, I want Kai to tell Lloyd to bathe in that asshole's blood. And I want Lloyd to go feral.

They are his people. No one can hurt them. No one.

Seriously though, I have a lot of thoughts about this concept, and I'm going to expand on it in future posts.

Like there's a full story knocking around in my brain right now, and as soon as i get some of it organized and written down I'll share it with you all.

I think I'll call it the "7 AU" for now.

Ninjago Secrecy AU

So in this AU, it’s basically the same as canon, EXCEPT, the ninja stay secret.

it's not JUST their identities. It’s also their literal existence and history.

FSM didn’t want humans, who often misunderstood and killed Yōkai-kind, to know about the Elementals. So he kept himself secret, his two sons secret, and the people he’d later choose to become the first human-ish Elementals secret. Those people were street orphans and abused kids he’d rescued from other humans.

Elementals have basically been behind the scenes (and doing illegal stuff like underage driving) for several millennia, they’ve managed to keep secret all this time and continue to do so in this AU. 

When something big comes, like the Great Devourer, the ninja fix it but there’s only eyewitnesses and no camera footage and most of the time they somehow aren’t seen by humans.

Or Jay causes a blackout to make things harder for them to be seen.

Oh, yeah. And Elementals aren’t sure if they’re Humans with powers, something between Yōkai and Humans, or just full-blown Yōkai. 

They just don’t know, but they have the senses of Yōkai and they can see very well in the dark- they also have a keen sense of smell, they can follow trails. And their eyes glow, but they can control the glow when they need to. Among other things, like feeling vibrations.

Elementals also have feral instincts, though they can ignore those instincts and act human when the circumstances demand it. Lloyd, his father, and uncle all have Dragoni features like in my Headcanon #1, and they're the most feral.

The Elementals just tell people who ask that they’re a clan. They’re kind of common amongst the Realms, and to help the ninja, their clan is tiny, and sort of IS a clan, just a special one. 

Said clans that do exist either live off the land or live modernly now but they all started back in old times, and they keep touch and all nowadays. 

The Serpentine often receives a similar reception that Yōkai get, just less than that, so they don’t give the game up- they keep silent about the ninja. 

After meeting the ninja, the Formlings, the Geckles and the Munce, and others were asked to and agreed to keep quiet about the Elementals. So does Vania, (idk how that part of Master of the Mountain works but yeah).

In the AU, other Yōkai, (Kitsune, Kappas, Tanukis, Bakenekos, ect.) are more apparent and present in this, and even most of them don’t know about the ninjas, just a few friends know. 

The Elementals frequently attack and ambush Yōkai Hunters, and free the trapped Yōkai. 

There’s also more mountains around the Monastery, it’s a literal mountain range, and many Yōkai live in them. Years ago they all combined their magic to create a barrier, so humans can’t get in (they just get turned around and all,) unless they’re led, and it's really hard for someone to just find their way in, but it happens occasionally. 

IN THIS AU, THE SIX SEE EACH OTHER AS SIBLINGS, EXCEPT MAYBE JAY AND NYA, I CAN'T DECIDE.

Arin knows about the ninja ONLY because he’s from a village near the mountain of the Monastery, and his family is one of the few that the ninja trusted with the knowledge of their existence, because one of Arin’s ancestors, a few generations back, accidentally found a way into the mountains, and got caught in a storm, so the ninja of the time saved him. 

Also all the Elementals speak Yōkai. It’s their second language, and their first language is Japanese, English is their third language.  

Yeah, that’s it really.

Alrighty I'm feeling a little irritated after a not so lovely comment on one of my fics (that has literally NOTHING to do with Jay) about how I don't often write about him if at all. Now I just kinda ignored the comment cause this was the same person who said I couldn't ship Zane with human characters cause he's a robot to say the least I took what they said with a grain of salt so yeahhhhhh (like seriously I had to mention that cause it's just such a weird thing to say since Ninjago has said multiple times that Zane is just as human as the others so???)

But anyways I want to start by saying yeah that's true I don't write about Jay very often, in fact I have never written a fic centered around him BUT I will never go out of my way to vilify him outside of the actions he takes IN CANNON because I try to stay in character when writing unless it's an AU that might shift their personalities a bit but not by much. But this brings me to an issue I've come across more than once and it sort of bothers me and its: the erasure of Jay's more negative qualities.

Now I'm not saying that Jay is an irredeemable villain here I'm just saying that he has said/done things that aren't good that a lot of people seem very keen on just ignoring or in some cases outright denying, and I get it it sucks when our favorite characters are flawed trust me my favorite character is GARMADON so I have plenty of experience in liking characters with flaws lol. BUT just because we like them doesn't mean they don't HAVE those flaws.

Like Jay (since he's who we're suppose to be focusing on rn) is kind of an ass multiple times especially early in the series. Now I hate the love triangle because it fucked up literally all people involved and I found it super annoying but I think Jay was painted in a particularly bad light. For example Jay straight up attacking Cole even though Cole had ZERO clue about the whole perfect match thing, like imagine if out of no where your best friend ATTACKED YOU saying you were trying to "steal" (I hate that phrase btw so dumb cause Nya's a person) the person they liked? Probably would feel really crummy.

Now I do understand that Jay probably has some form of anxiety but that doesn't mitigate the fact throughout the series Jay has a tendency to get freaked out and then lose his temper, in more recent seasons it's happened less frequently which I'm going to chose to interpret as him growing up but is likely just because in later season the writing tends to muddy the waters on most characters (we don't even talk about crystalized because it doesn't exist, like seriously Lloyd talks about Harumi in Dragons Rising like Crystalized never happened which I'm a big fan of) but yeah. I've never been a huge Jay fan myself but his cannon character is interesting and I'd understand why people would like him since again he's not an irredeemable monster he's a person.

But yeah, I love Ninjago and I love being a part of the fandom but I don't love how sometimes people overlook the charcters negative traits and that really bothers me since more than one of the characters go through arcs (some more subtle than others) to become better people. Like I also think people underplay Nya's anger issues, Kai's can be as well but to a lesser extent SOMETIMES, which is unfortunate because that's part of their arcs of growing into new more mature people. All of the characters have their problems it's what makes them interesting to follow, I'm a huge fan of Garmadon and he is EXTREMLY flawed but that's what makes him an interesting character especially since he's trying to be better (again lol).

In conclusion I love over analyzing this Lego show cause even if its shit sometimes the characters it created are super fun to play with much like actual Legos! I don't hate any characters (except for Nadakahn and The Mechanic fuck those two they're creepy as shit) I love getting to talk about them and am totally open for conversations about them because as you can tell from this post I am a natural born yapper and I love to hear other peoples thoughts/views so feel free to say something as long as you're willing to keep it civil!

*cracks knuckles* well if I'm gonna work on my OCs and now that someone's reminded me how actually tragic Echo is

Let's talk about Jasmine and her relationship with Echo

I feel like they would get really close if they ever met. I think Julien would tell Echo about her in a way he wouldn't tell Zane because he was scared Zane would tell others someday. Echo won't ever leave the lighthouse, so he can't tell anyone. He would know about Julien's other child, but he would figure it's Zane, the one he replaced. When they meet, once they figured out they were related, I think Echo would realize and want to tell Jasmine what he knows. Julien wanted to know her but couldn't. He left her because it's what was best for her. I think Echo would want to imagine Julien left him for those kinds of reasons too.

I think they would bond over being abandoned by Julien. Jasmine before she was born, Echo long after. I think they'd each envy each other, in a way. They both resent him (even if they won't admit it), but Jasmine resents him never being there. Echo resents him being there so much, only to leave him. Echo would fill in the gaps for Jasmine on who he was, while Echo is more eager to hear about the life Jasmine lived in the wide world, especially on her own.

I think they'd have a super close bond, I think they should visit Jasmine's home and have a snowball fight, I think she should take him to Borg Industries and watch Echo go starry eyed at all the cool technology, I think Jasmine would help replace his rusted gears and wires with ones that won't deteriorate as easily, i think she'd teach him how to garden and befriend animals and i think echo would be so thrilled to get away from the sea

I think if Echo and Jasmine ever got to meet, they'd find a comfort in each other and a confidant about some of their issues that no one else could provide

Lloyd- I could punt this child but I don’t wand to id buy him lunch and a lollypop, but also grownup Lloyd is to op i ant touching that

Pixel- she would close casket me bruh I ant gonna lie I am to gay to fight this beautiful nblnb icon

Cole- I don’t wanna go nowhere near this man he is hot but he’s also strong and that’s scary, but he’s also nice so he might hesitate before he beats me into the ground

One of my favorite aspects of Dragons Rising is that no one has any goddamn clue whats going on, get no answers for anything, and they all just kinda spend 10 episodes screaming at each other in total confusion.

Especially Zane, who woke up like 5 minutes ago and has suddenly found himself in the middle of this big major climactic battle involving dragons and indestructible holograms and a weird feral child and a giant god-dragon trapped inside of a magic orb who could destroy reality and like 50 other chaotic things happening all at once. And he just looks at this and goes "ah yes my friends have gotten up to more unhinged shenanigans, nothing new there :)" and just goes along with it.

Like you really gotta appreciate his ability to just kinda take everything in stride. Lloyd got turbo-boosted with dragon power and now hes unconscious? Sure. This strange feral child has Kai's same powers? Why not. Hes spent the last 5 years sleeping in a weird pod in some haunted underground monastery and completely slept through the merging of all 16 realms? Just another day in Ninjago. Lloyd kinda-sorta adopted these two random children, one of whom has an elemental power no ones heard of? Alright, this might as well happen.

This is a man who has put up with so many of his friends' batshit adventures and antics that at this point i dont think anything can really take him by surprise anymore. And honestly you gotta respect that
