Little side project I’ve been working on now that I’ve been falling back into the photography rabbit hole. Details below the read more for those interested.
Picked up this old Nikon 1 J3 with a broken lens for a steal on ebay, and in the native lenses place have added an adapter plate to drop it down to C-mount. Fitted with a modern cctv cam lens in these photos, but i’ve bought/found and restored a few vintage film lenses for it too.
And to add to it more, I spent the last couple days designing and printing this attachable grip accessory that also supports an optional viewfinder hood for the screen that I found on amazon.
Still waiting on a little chip sourced from Poland to add to the adapter plate to spoof a native lens to hopefully restore automatic metering and focus confirmation, but even as it i now this has been a lot of fun to use and has already been teaching me more in regard to manually shooting rather than relying on automatic modes like I have in the past.

Sony A9III Looks To Be On The Horizon
By: Joseph Correa
Follow @Frontproofmedia!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id))(document, 'script', 'twitter-wjs');
The Sony A9 III is the long-awaited successor to the popular A9II, and it is rumored to be a major step up in terms of performance and features. With what most believe will be a new stacked sensor, improved AI autofocus, and faster continuous shooting speeds, the A9 III is poised to become the new gold standard for sports and wildlife photography.
It has been rumored that Sony filed a new product registration earlier this month, and some believe this is indeed the A9III we have all been waiting for.
If the A9III rumors prove to be true, it will be a serious contender to the Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9. These cameras are all vying for the title of the best sports camera on the market, and the A9 III could be the one to take the crown.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the news and what you would want to see in the new A9III

Nikon Z8 Review
© NikonUSA Introduction The Nikon Z 8 is probably the closest I’ll ever get to owning a new Nikon flagship camera. It often comes down to need, justification and price. Need – do I really need what a new, current flagship camera has to offer? More times than no, I would not – the features would be overkill. Justification – can I justify the expense or the feature set that the camera has to…

Amtrak's Pennsylvania at Gap—A Two-Camera, Six-Frame sequence.
I often work with multiple cameras. Since purchasing my Nikon Z7-II at the end of last year, I now often work with both my Nikon mirrorless cameras in tandem. I’ve fitted my Z-series 70-200mm zoom to my Z6, and a Z-series 24-70mm to the Z7-II. This arrangement gives me the flexibility to make a variety of different angles quickly, swaping back and forth between the two cameras as needed. In…

The Top Mirrorless Cameras for Every Budget
If you're in the market for a new camera, you may have considered a mirrorless camera. Mirrorless cameras offer many of the same features and capabilities as DSLR cameras, but with a more compact and lightweight design. They also tend to have faster autofocus and higher frame rates, making them a popular choice for photographers of all levels.
Tumblr media
What to Consider When Choosing a Mirrorless Camera
When shopping for a mirrorless camera, there are a few key factors to consider:
Sensor Size
One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a mirrorless camera is the size of the image sensor. Larger sensors generally produce better image quality, especially in low light conditions. However, they also tend to be more expensive. Smaller sensors, on the other hand, are more affordable but may not produce as high quality images.
Lens Compatibility
Mirrorless cameras use interchangeable lenses, so it's important to consider the lens options available for the camera you're considering. Some camera systems have a larger selection of lenses available, while others may be more limited. It's also important to consider the mount type – some camera systems use proprietary mounts, while others use standard mounts like Canon EF or Nikon F.
Video Quality
If you plan on shooting video with your camera, be sure to consider the video quality offered by the camera. Look for a camera with a high resolution and frame rate, as well as features like image stabilization and microphone inputs
Price
Mirrorless cameras range in price from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. Consider your budget and how much you're willing to spend on a camera. Keep in mind that higher-priced cameras tend to offer more advanced features and better image quality, but there are also many affordable options that offer great value for the price.

Top 3 Amazing Mirrorless Cameras To Buy
You can take your photography to the next level, no matter your level. The best mirrorless cameras have many great features and performance, so everyone can find something they like. Unlike DSLR cameras, mirrorless cameras are compact and versatile and replace mirrors with electronic sensors. It is also possible to shoot videos with many of these cameras.
A variety of mirrorless cameras are available to fit any budget, from entry-level models to premium options. This review article will guide you to find the best mirrorless camera for the right price. Based on real-world testing, we've selected our favourites for novices, enthusiasts, and experienced shooters. Some of the mirrorless cameras we've recommended below are among the best currently available on the market.

Sony A7 IV
Specifications:
The scale of the sensor: Full frame
Resolution: 33 megapixels
Viewfinder resolution: 3.690 million dots
Monitor resolution: Touchscreen with a 3.0-inch tilt angle, 1.037 million dots
Autofocus capability: 759 points of Autofocus
Rate of continuous shooting: 10fps
Videos: 4K recording at 60p
Level of the user: Level II
The Sony A7 IV mirrorless camera is one of the most modern hybrid cameras on the Indian market. Its price is higher than its stills-focused competition, but it is a versatile workhorse for those who want to take stills and videos simultaneously.
Compared to its predecessor, it's now more expensive, but upgrades such as 10-bit video and a Bionz XR processor ensure it's the most compelling camera on the list. According to our tests, the A7 IV has excellent autofocus capabilities and a seemingly unlimited buffer depth, which means it can maintain maximum burst speeds indefinitely. In continuous raw mode, it swallowed 9 frames per second for over a minute using a CFexpress card.
It is unclear whether Sony's new A7 IV's 33MP full-frame sensor will dramatically improve image quality over the A7 III (the higher resolution may also mean more noise above ISO 6400), and there is a heavy crop when shooting 4K video. But, overall, the A7 IV offers an outstanding balance of features and could be the only mirrorless camera you will ever need.
Pros:
A 33MP sensor with impressive resolution.
The best focusing system available.
The screen can be adjusted at any angle.
Cons:
Several 4K clips are being heavily cropped.
Beginners will find this model complicated.
Fujifilm X-T4
Specifications:
The scale of the sensor: APS-C
Resolution: 26.1 megapixels
Viewfinder resolution: 3.690 million dots
Monitor resolution: Touchscreen with a 3.0-inch tilt angle, 1.620 million dots
Autofocus capability: 425 points of Autofocus
Rate of continuous shooting: 15fps with mechanical shutter and 30fps with electronic shutter
Videos: 4K recording at 60p
Level of the user: Level II/Experienced
Are you searching for a mirrorless camera that can capture stills and 4K videos? In terms of size and price, the Fujifilm X-T4 is more compact and affordable than its full-frame competitors. In addition, it delivers class-leading image quality and a fun shooting experience, making it the best APS-C camera. Nonetheless, the Fujifilm X-T5 is now available and has the capacity to set new standards for quality.
Moreover, the early signs are that the new camera's 40MP sensor will make it a serious player in this field, although we have yet to complete our testing.
For those who mainly shoot stills, we recommend the Fujifilm X-T3, which is still on sale. With a brand-new battery, a quieter shutter, and in-body image stabilization (IBIS), the X-T4 raised the bar for its series.
The X-T4 outperformed its rivals for low-light performance and detailed resolution during our tests. Even though the grip could have been more profound, and the IBIS system isn't nearly as good as Olympus's, it's still a great addition to an all-rounder that now has a great range of lenses.
Pros:
Video and stills management with IBIS.
The build quality is superb.
Longer and improved battery life.
Cons:
It lacks the built-in headphone jack.

Canon EOS R6
Specifications:
The scale of the sensor: Full-frame sensor
Resolution: 20.1 megapixels
Viewfinder resolution: 3.690 million dots
Monitor resolution: Touchscreen with a 3.0-inch tilt angle, 1.622 million dots
Autofocus capability: 6,072 points of Autofocus
Rate of continuous shooting: 12fps with mechanical shutter and 20fps with electronic shutter
Videos: 4K recording at 60p
Level of the user: Experienced
A Canon DSLR owner waiting for an entry-level mirrorless camera might enjoy the EOS R6. Compared to Canon's earlier mirrorless launches like the EOS R, it's a worthy upgrade.
The EOS R6 is equipped with one of the best autofocus on the market - it's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system provides excellent subject detection (for example, animal tracking) and tracking performance. With in-body image stabilization (IBIS), 12 frames per second burst shooting when using the mechanical shutter, and decent 4K/60p video skills, the EOS R6 is a significant upgrade over Canon's original mirrorless models.
In our testing, we found that the EOS R6 is more of a stills camera than a video workhorse, but if its 20MP resolution is enough for you, it's undoubtedly one of Canon's best cameras.
Pros:
An excellent autofocus system.
IBIS system with impressive features.
It has two slots for cards.
Cons:
The price is pretty high.
It has limitations on video recording.
Wrapping Up
No camera can be perfect, and learning how to work around each camera's limitations is part of the magic of photography. The camera you choose should be the right match for what kind of photos you like to capture.
After you've determined which camera is right for you, buy a lens to go with it and take photos daily. Take the time to read your camera's manual and learn its limitations, then use it repeatedly until it feels effortless in your hand.
FAQs
Do professionals use mirrorless cameras?
There are more mirrorless cameras on the market than DSLR cameras for professional photographers. In comparison, 36% of professional photographers use DSLR cameras, compared to 64% who still use mirrorless cameras.
Do mirrorless cameras have better image quality?
It's important to remember that mirrorless system cameras encompass all the features and advantages of both DSLRs and point-and-shoots, with the benefits of interchangeable lenses, ultra-high image quality, and a greater array of high-end features than DSLRs of middle and upper tiers.
Should I switch to a mirrorless camera?
Mirrorless cameras have the benefit that they are usually lighter, faster, and more compact; however, access to lenses and accessories is limited. The advantages of DSLRs include more comprehensive lens selections, better optical viewfinders, and longer battery life.
Are mirrorless cameras better at night?
Yes, definitely! The in-body image stabilization, high ISO performance, and low-light focusing capabilities of mirrorless cameras make them ideal for night photography.
