This is why I love my zoom lens

I heard elk calling across the valley and spotted something moving. The first photo is what I saw and the dot is the elks location. The second photo is my lens max and the last is cropped even closer in. Obviously this length doesn't produce good photos but the reach is cool for observing animals far far away. I have a Nikkor 200-500mm with a Nikon D500 making it actually a 300-750mm due to the crop factor.

C/2022 E3 (ZTF) is a long-period comet of the Solar System, orbiting near the Sun in January 2023 and reaching its closest point on February 1, 2023. It passed a few degrees below Polaris and was about 5th mag, just visible with the naked eye. In the further course it moves southwards and quickly loses brightness.

Finally decided on the NIKKOR 200-500mm for a new telephoto lens :')

I'd love something that goes up to 600 but the 3rd party ones seem to have lots of complaints about them having issues focusing, even after being calibrated and sent in for repairs.

Nikon does have a lens that goes up to 600mm but it's a prime lens that is TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS

I guess if I ever plan to photograph things far away I'll rent one lmao

This was the fourth shoot with Alexander Hernandez. The first was a model test in St Petersburg, Fl December 2023 since moving to Sarasota. This concept exercise was at Coquina Beach in Bradenton, Fl, a comfortable beautiful sunny Wednesday afternoon March 2024. Alex expressed he preferred my eye and method of shooting as an actor than a model. Than the local Tampa photographers his agency recommended. I thanked him. After his meet and greet with curious beach goers. We went out and started shooting.

This series of images were shot at the furthest south area of the beach. Unbeknownst to us, it’s was cleared earlier by the beach patrol because of rip tide conditions.
