total mood switch but does anyone notice that pale or white makeup artists always cover their lips in foundation. is there a reason for that?
#like nikkitutorials#like she makes it work in the end but she has such a nice lip colour and then she just looks casket ready for a little bit#I’m not trying to be rude I swear 😭 idk if there’s a reason for it

Remembering the one time I had a Pinterest board labeled “crushes” that was just filled with celebrity pictures I really liked and my littlest cousin saw that there were women on it when she was looking over my shoulder one time.
She just gasped my name, looked at me with these giant brown eyes, and went, “You put girls on there!” Like it had never occurred to her that that could be possible.
#medarants✨#she was probably like ten at the time#raised super reliously#also remember doing her makeup a while back#and her talking about how nikkitutorials is trans and how she didn’t know that trans people could exist!!#but that she loves them!!#and doesn’t like that people are mean to them!!#she literally just#‘i don’t understand why people are so mean to them 🥺’#i miss my little bean so much 🥲

Check out me accidentally discovering ASMR 7 years ago
No discourse but when I have panic attacks I weirdly find Ingrid Nilisen (sp?) videos very soothing. Like I would never follow any of her makeup advice because I don’t know what any of it is and it would add 30 minutes and $59 dollars to my daily routine, but like, God is it nice to know I can pull up a beauty blogger with a soothing JC Penny mom voice who has mastered femininity better than any straight girl ever will. Go on, Ingrid, blend 2 products that cost 30 bucks each on the same part of your face, I don’t know what’s happening but I support you so much I’m so glad you’re out here beating straight girls and white girls at their own game, it is very soothing to me, a white lesbian femme who loves eyeliner but is uncertain I even know what foundation is for
#also I have since learned what foundation is allegedly 'for'#also this is HILARIOUS post nikkitutorials coming out/being outed like yeah obviously queer girls are better at makeup than cishet ones

Kinda conflicted about pronouns and wondered about your opinion on it bc I like your opinions. Basically I use sex based pronouns for everybody mainly because most trans people don't pass and that's the pronoun that comes naturally to mind (if I'm trying to be polite I will avoid pronouns entirely or occasionally use they, but it takes a lot of effort to slow your language down no matter what anyone claims! and I cannot call a nonpassing MTF she on principle.) in other words I make little to no conscious effort about pronouns, and take what my brain hands me based on their appearance.
But I notice that for (truly) passing trans people I would be fighting against this natural perception to sex them correctly, like N*kki Tutorials reads as a she for example so I just don't fight it and I call her "she" even though I technically know she's male and if anyone asked me her sex I would say male. To me she's a "male woman" even though that's paradoxical. 🤔 This level of passing is pretty rare though (like H*nter Scafer and whichever one was in Barbie don't even fit this criteria for me.) What do you do? Do you think it's important to make the effort to still use sex based pronouns for truly passing MTF to hold the line against the whole concept of changing sex?
Yeah, I understand the hesitation in calling men who convincingly pass as female “he.” It feels forced. That said, I still do it lmao. It’s like you said, it’s a principle thing. I don’t believe men who pass as women are women. I won’t call a man “she,” even if he’s lucky enough to have delicate features. Wrt nikkitutorials, I didn’t know he was trans until it was revealed (and I side eye anyone who was like “duh, look at him 🙄” he’s just tall) so it’s weird to call him he. But if I think like, “this person is male,” it’s easier. Male doesn’t mean masculine, it just means male. Nikkitutorials is male. Nikkitutorials is a he. Buck angel is a she. These are facts, not subjective interpretation.

Watching all the drama go down with Colleen makes me so happy I never idolized her when I was younger (honestly always found her Miranda Sings act really weird)
We were solely a nikkitutorials and markiplier stan (those were literally the only two I watched and still do 😭). Oh and Liza Koshy when she used to actually post

for coll edge (dont dunk on me its for a scholarship)
I think it's INCREDIBLY difficult for transgender students to afford college. One, some people can't even afford college and transitioning simultaneously. Two, some people can't afford to transition alone. And three, some people can't afford college at all. Estimates of transitioning costs (FTM and MTF) are exorbitantly high, ranging from 25k to over 100k. Some people can't even afford to pay for their water and electricity- looking at you, people from Los Angeles- let alone financially taxing medical procedures. Let's be fair, though. ALL medical procedures are financially taxing because the American healthcare system SUCKS and would charge you for the amount of air you breathe per minute if they could. This brings us back to our point- a lot of the time, people have to choose between financial stability and happiness, and most people choose financial stability (which is valid, considering you can't be happy if you've starved to death).
What makes approaching college difficult for transgender students is. Well. Literally everything? Socially, it's always like traversing a minefield, regardless of whether you're visibly gender-nonconforming or stealth. If you're visibly GNC, you might be an easy target for unsavory experiences. If you're stealth, you might get accused of hiding important information. (Remember how NikkiTutorials was essentially outed, and people were enraged because she'd been 'hiding' it?)
If you live on-campus, you've got to worry about dorms: about whether you need to room with your sex assigned at birth or the one you identify with, about whether your roommates will be uncomfortable with you, about whether you'll be safe. I understand there's gender-inclusive housing in plenty of colleges now, but not nearly enough. There's also the issue of sports, and if you can play on the team you want. Do you remember how some coaches were performing checks on the genitalia of female athletes? Jesus.
Finally, there's also mental health to worry about. Statistically, transgender individuals face enormous mental health disparities relative to their peers. Combining poor mental health with the burden of schoolwork (Especially for students pursuing degrees in STEM- godspeed to those guys. You're stronger than me.) tends to dissuade students from attending institutes of higher education at all.
#TransgenderFirst#i'm tired#guys please i'm eepy its one am SHUT#tldr: being a transgender student sucks#yeah we're swag and cool and hip#but also#the Horrors

commented on this tiktok about how people feel entitled to knowing people’s sexuality. this person worded it perfectly with this being called “the youtuber coming out effect.” i made a comment about how people shouldn’t force people out of the closet and specifically called out whoever forced nikkitutorials to come out. someone responds with “she wasn’t forced out because of entitled fans. she was forced out from blackmail.”
first of all, thanks for splitting hairs with me in this. second, that’s still being forced out. it doesn’t matter if she wasn’t forced out by entitled fans. she was still forced to come out to everyone because someone threatened to make her gender identity public.
is it the same thing as being forced out due to entitled fans? no. but if she hadn’t said anything and the blackmailer went on and disclosed it, fans would then become entitled to know her full medical history because of it. it would’ve been a lot worse if she hadn’t come out before they could leak it. because cis people feel entitled to know what you have in your pants upon learning you’re not cis.
maybe focus less on why someone is forced out and more on the fact people are being forced out to begin with

I think the thing I do that’s the most out of character for me is the fact that I will watch videos on the Snapchat discover page when I like really don’t have the brainpower for anything else. Like I’ll sit my ass down and watch Nikkitutorials videos for an hour on Snapchat. I don’t even like makeup tutorials I have literally never once worn makeup by choice bc it’s one of the only things that ever gives me dysphoria I just like the way she speaks and when she complains about products lmao
